this video was brought to you by Squarespace whether you need a domain
website or online store make it with Squarespace
just about 5:30 in the morning from Manhattan that the Sun is rising over
there in the east morning coffee in hand and life is good there are a ton of new
people watching the channel over the past month so first off welcome and I
went over to Instagram to ask you questions - then answer in this video I
will be answering the ones that I think will burn you at the most value what is
the secret to success on YouTube first on fake money if money is not success
success on YouTube has many metrics to measure but for me success on this
platform has been building a community of like-minded people that have come
together based around a certain set of ideas and to have a sustainable business
in the online world in my opinion being successful on this platform is not
having millions of subscribers I know creators on this platform that have more
people following their content than they could even comprehend and yet they
struggle to find a sustainable business model with all that said these are three
tips that I can recommend for anyone who wants to start a YouTube channel in 2018
the first tip is to have very very specific content YouTube is the second
largest search engine in the world a second to Google which owns YouTube your
video needs to have a very clear point a very clear message and a very clear
value proposition the moment that you click on a video you should know
instantly what it's about and what it has to offer otherwise people won't
watch the whole video and YouTube brings videos by watch time for this channel I
make videos about life in New York City apartment tours and then travel series
to cool destinations around the world very specific the next tip I have is to
not daily vlog long gone are the early days of YouTube where people care about
you going and getting your hair cut or those guys street dancing on the subway
even though they may be pretty damn impressive I mean look at this guy look
at this stuff and the fact is even if you have a team filming and editing for
you the burnout is inevitable I mean I feel like we're far enough in the
evolution of YouTube where the daily vlog phase has sort of kind of phased
out what I recommend is if you are gonna post a vlog post one every once in a
while just as like a little update or a more I guess sneak peek into a
behind-the-scenes of your life and the final tip I have when you find what
works replicated turn into a series because YouTube wants you to stay on
YouTube as long as possible so if you make an episodic series and people watch
the first they have to watch the second the third and the fourth and so on that
hooks them on to the platform they keep watching it's good for the channel an
example of someone who's doing this very very well is a guy named living Bobby
Bobby if you're watching this what's up Bobby started a channel a little over a
year ago he just hit 200,000 subscribers and he makes episodic content around
living free in New York London and he makes seven videos in a series and
they're very visible people watch them and I love them when you first start out
make a bunch of different content you know whatever people respond the best to
and whatever you like making the best you know make more of that and just
continue on that path for all these tips I'm just talking about what has worked
for me on this platform the rest of this Q&A is going to be rapid-fire but first
we have to go to summer time meet-and-greet in New York City soon yes
I had one before almost this time last year and it was amazing comment down
below up more meet if you want me to have a New York City
Meetup I just actually met up with the one and only manager Jared we are going
on a trip I'm not gonna tell you where yet but we are heading it we're heading
right into here Penn Station so the next question is would you travel into outer
space I know my answer I would a hundred percent go out of space that's actually
one of our goals for this channel and to be the first traveler youtuber in space
next question how did you meet Ryan Serhant that's a very good question
because a lot of you I'm assuming are from the apartment tour videos with Rhys
so this past January I went to Tanzania and I climbed to the top of Mount
Kilimanjaro and it made a travel series about the trip I was looking through the
comments and a guy by the name of Ryan Serhant comped it on the video we
noticed that he had started a YouTube channel outside of all the other stuff
that he was doing so we decided to send him a cold email to his email address
and just basically saying hey we saw the you commented we saw that you started a
YouTube channel we'd love to help you build out your YouTube channel and
figure it out there's a way that we can collaborate and work together to help
Ryan build his channel and provide value I'd like to followers I know how to do
real estate right you know how to vlog do you play am I supposed to like hold
this camera like this am i blogging right now if I blog it and we decided
that the way it's the best bring value to both channels was to do apartment
tours of multi-million dollar places in the city and Ryan is this cool nice
authentic down-to-earth and as he looks on video I think nicer honestly man he
is one of the most genuine people I've met through the internet
Brian if you're watching this what's up seeing all those crazy apartments with
Ryan has that inspired you to work harder I think seeing Ryan and seeing
how hard he works that has inspired me to work harder not necessarily the crazy
apartments but seeing how someone has reached a level of success that I want
to aspire that I do aspire to why don't you travel more around the United States
I'm actually doing a trip to California in the fall like a big California RV
trip so look out for that in the future that's not what we're going right now is
it no we're not going there right now have you said where we're going right
now I haven't but if you follow me on Instagram you know exactly where we're
going what do you fear my biggest fear is not reaching like
the fear of failing itself but that makes any sense what I fear is that
people believing that because they have the potential that means that they
succeeded but you only succeed we can actually achieve what you want to do now
just based on the potential that you have right now if you're missing this
place because someone has to keep us on a schedule jared is the the father of
this Travel Group we're about to jump on this play right here we jump cut to the
red carpet it's the final question where and how long are you guys in Sweden we
are in Gothenburg West Sweden going all the way up to the castor islands that
heading back down we are here for a solid eight days eight days also if I
didn't answer your question comment your question down below and I'll be
answering those questions in the first few minutes that this goes live at all
right we gotta go we'll give you a late look good luck and I'll see you guys in
