-How are you? -[ Laughs ]

I'm doing good. -I'm glad you're here.

So, congrats on the film.

For those that don't -- That was Kyrie Irving

in that scene with you.

That was current NBA basketball player Kyrie Irving.

-25-year-old Kyrie Irving is playing a really old man.

-I mean, you obviously grew up a basketball fan.

Was it exciting to spend an entire

film shoot with these guys?

-It was surreal, to be honest with you,

'cause I'm a legit, real fan.

So, like, to be around Chris Webber and Reggie Miller

and, like, being able to ask the questions

I always wanted to ask.

Like, I asked Reggie Miller, why did him and Mike

get into this fight in like '91?

-Yeah.

-And it was a real fight. I watch it once a year.

It's a weird traditional thing. -Yeah.

-And the funny thing is -- from both --

So, I have a friend who's a friend of Michael Jordan,

who says Reggie did one thing,

and Reggie told me that Mike did one thing.

I don't know who telling the truth.

-Yeah.

But it's a pretty good situation to be in

to be able to hear both sides, I think, yeah.

-I feel like I really --

Like, I could be an inside source for, like, ESPN.

Like, they should call me. -Well now, yeah.

It's interesting.

Does it bother you that -- 'Cause Kyrie is really good.

-Yeah.

-So, he's already a great basketball player.

Now he's, like, good at acting.

Like, the same could not be said of you, right?

[ Laughter ]

-Damn. -Or I.

-But, look, let me say this.

I mean, I have said that before, like, where it's like

I'm a little annoyed that all of them

could come do my job whenever they feel like it.

-Yeah.

-Like, "Oh, yeah, I ain't got to play this summer,

so I'll make a movie real quick."

-Yeah.

-'Cause I can't do the same thing.

-Yeah, exactly.

"I got 10 days off. I'm gonna go play for the Jazz."

[ Laughter ]

The one thing that you have over them is --

you are not in age makeup the whole film.

Obviously, they had to spend a ton of time getting it.

Do you feel like you at least had figured out

the better part to be in this film for that?

-No. I mean -- Well, I'll tell you.

This is funny, though.

Because they was getting everything done early,

I didn't see their real faces for months.

-Yeah.

-So, like, for the longest,

I thought they looked how they look.

So it wasn't -- Like, when Kyrie went to Boston,

he had that press conference.

And I was watching like, "Oh.

That's how you look in real life."

-Well, you actually went the other way,

because there's a young version of you in the film.

-Yeah.

-And, obviously, instead of deciding to put

young makeup on you, you cracked the code.

Your son played young you.

-Yeah, my son plays little me in a movie, man.

-He's fantastic. -He's really good, too.

-Yeah.

-He's backstage right now with my daughter.

But he's really good.

It was like he was really professional, too.

Like, that's a little annoying.

My son takes his acting jobs way too serious.

You know what I mean?

He don't know, like, certain little acting ethics, right?

Because he did "The Carmichael Show," too.

-Yeah.

-And I remember, we was doing our speed read

in the makeup room, and I didn't know my lines, so he did it.

I was like, "Okay, fam." You know what I mean?

I was like, "Wait a minute."

I had to pull him to the side like,

"Hey, look here, Bro.

Like, you're lucky you're my son,

'cause if you weren't, we'd be boxing on this Fox lot."

-And your daughter also --

Is she also drawn to show business?

-Well, she likes more the behind-the-scenes stuff,

more the creative stuff.

So, like, most of the time when I'm on sets with things,

and like, the directors will give her a headset.

And she'll sit there and look all cool and classy,

like some cool director.

I think she's a future director. -Yeah. Well, she's smart.

That's where the money is. Yeah.

You -- I want to ask about this.

You were in the film "Get Out." -Yes.

-Absolutely, for my money, the best film of last year.

[ Cheers and applause ]

A great film.

I don't think anybody could have predicted how popular it was.

What was your first reaction when you

saw it for the first time?

-Well, when I saw it the first time --

'Cause there's two versions of it.

Like, the premiere was one thing,

and me seeing it for the first time -- I saw it on my laptop.

And this was when we were shooting the new ending.

So I saw it with the original ending.

-Yeah.

-And although I love the movie,

I couldn't sleep that night.

I was, like, really sad.

-For those who don't know, yeah,

the original ending is very depressing.

And they reshot the ending for you, basically, to be the hero.

-I know.

That's such a great -- I thought Jordan was brilliant

at making a hero just a good friend.

-Yeah.

-Not with superpowers, nothing extra.

He's like, "No, I'm just gonna go pick him up."

-Yeah. That's all you need.

Sometimes, all you need is for somebody to pick you up.

-You just need a ride. -Yeah, you just need a ride.

What -- I know you've probably been asked this a million times.

Because you played a TSA agent in the film and you were a hero,

do TSA agents recognize you?

And is your experience any different?

-Well, this is the thing about it.

They are really nice to me.

They're like, "Oh, man. Oh, man. Big fan, man.

You killed the movie.

But you still got to take your shoes off, brother."

It was like, "What? I can't keep my shoes on?

Get a pre-check man?"

But it's real.

So, I just lost, like, all my identification.

Not really lost, but somebody stole my bag

with everything in it.

So, like, you can still travel with expired stuff,

but then they do a whole extra thing.

-Yeah.

-So, like, I'm getting frisked, like, straight up,

and he's apologizing the whole time.

"Look at me.

I know you was in the movie, and I'm sorry.

You know, it was -- "I mean, you ain't got no ID, man.

I don't know what you want us to do."

-Tiffany Haddish is in the film with you.

You guys have known each other a long time.

-Yes.

-And you actually went to see a movie together,

and you saw a preview for "Get Out."

-Yeah.

-I mean, I imagine, first,

Tiffany is a fantastic person to see any movie with.

-Yeah.

-What was it like when she saw her friend in a preview?

-'Cause she's such an energetic friend and enthusiastic.

So, we sit there -- We went to see "Birth of a Nation."

This is actually while

we were shooting "The Carmichael Show."

It was, like, after rehearsals or something.

We went to the movies.

And I didn't even know the trailer was coming on.

And the trailer came on, and she's just like,

"Oh, my God!

There he go, y'all!

He's sitting right here! He ready! That's my boy!"

I'm like... [ Cheers and applause ]

-I think a lot of people would be very happy

to have Tiffany Haddish do that.

-Let me tell you something. Like, she is so inspiring.

Like, you know, the coolest thing about, really,

both of us in the situation, we're going through this

experience together as friends.

So, like, those conversations --

Sometimes, you do need somebody to talk to

that understands everything.

And she's handling -- It's so surreal

watching these celebrities be --

Like, they lined up to meet her at a party one night.

And I was sitting there like, "Wow. Look at my friend."

-And I guarantee you not one of them regretted doing it,

because I think -- -No.

Everybody wants to feel that energy.

And it's like I'm so proud, 'cause she's been

the same way the whole time, which I think is ---

You know, a lot of times, people think

everything is an overnight success, but, like, no.

I saw her printing up those audition signs

and just, like, not even booking stuff

but just happy that they called her in.

You know what I'm saying?

And she was able to get the opportunity to do it

and then go at night and do stand-up set

at like four or five different places.

So that girl worked hard to get where she at.

I'm so proud of her. -Well, that's great.

And it's fantastic, your success, as well.

Thank you so much for being here, man.

HOW TO GROW A YOUTUBE SKATE CHANNEL FASTER? - Duration: 8:31.

what I mean by success on social media is usually going viral or having more

people watching it and obviously making your network grow

ola YouTube my name is Ricardo Lino and a wheel addict

I'm back in South Africa and if you remember

well a few weeks ago we did a video about how could you grow in your social

media I told you there was a few things that you should do to grow an Instagram

to grow on Facebook and to grow on you do one of the main things that you

should know is that each social media should have each own content so there's

different ways to make the content and that's what we're going to talk today

today I'm going to talk about consistency and to talk about

consistency I'm gonna use again a visual effect can I say that can say that so

I'm gonna give you a visual example here's the visual example this thing

let's call it success so I'm gonna put like a big s can also be for smart

because these might as well just be the smartest pills on the market as they are

the fastest so it's for sure success T now we got to put success success going

inside a box now how do we get success that's what we all want when we use

social media there's a few different ways let me tell you a lot of people is

using YouTube as a way for them to put their work and that's pretty normal but

if you do one video per year this is what happens every single year

I'm not gonna eat over here okay this is when you do one video for a year

can you see success some people do better views another the other day

David's eyes were just released the video on his YouTube channel called

shangri-la and it's amazing and I'm going to put the link in the description

and on that video because such an amount of time to make that video and the

quality of the video so he is actually opening a bigger gate to bigger window a

bigger door to success still can you see success I'm not saying you can't because

each window is quite big the video was really really amazing but here's what

happens when you are consistent and you keep on doing videos I'm not telling you

to do shitty videos of course put as much effort as you can on doing videos

but usually the more consistent you are the more windows you are opening to

success or building every now and then you make better videos what I want you

to learn with this video is that we all have that idea that quality should

always go over quantity and I totally agree up to a certain point your only

way to grow is by focusing on making more content and consistently as you can

see here when you make a video a really good video David starts Boris video was

amazing when you make that really amazing video you never know where it's

going to be in the box so you never know if this one is going to eat success but

if you keep on doing videos sometimes the shittiest video then it's going to

take you to success what I mean by success on social media is usually going

viral or having more people watching it and obviously making your network grow

my main goal with this video is to show you that we actually need to produce

more if we want to grow obviously consistency is really important so what

do I call consistency and how can you be consistent on YouTube you should know

one thing usually when you post one video YouTube

is going to be on your side and it's going to suggest your video of course if

you post it right but it's going to suggest your video on a pic for the

first 24 hours and it keeps suggesting your video for 7 days so let's see if

you can do something else this is the time that you post the video this is 24

hours and this is one way when you post your videos you hit you need to pick

then it keep it starts going down starts going down starts going down it goes

down all the way to seven days after seven days well I wouldn't say the video

is that because there's always things that you can do on your videos to revive

them basically you can change the thumbnail you can change the description

you can change the title there's a lot of things that you can do to revive the

video obviously the best it's always make another door to success but if you

don't have the time for that a little change on your video like a little

change of the thumbnail a little change on the title a lot of times that can

help you now like I said there's the pics that last 24 hours after seven days

it's still good so why do so many people try to post every day well if you post

every day with eopns that slowly you're gonna start growing because you

never let the views going down a lot of people also post once a week if you post

once a week you're not completely dead you can still go up go up and you're

slowly gonna grow obviously the fastest way to grow it's by posting every day

now the question is should we post more than once a day

think about your viewers I'm asking people to subscribe to my channel I'm

asking people to click that thing let me just draw it here not the best at

drawing but this Isabel I'm asking people to I'm asking people to click on

that bell on the side of the subscribe button he click on this Bell and if I

upload a lot of times a day they're always getting notifications from me and

people also get bored of that so you don't want people to get

all of your content and you want people to stop subscribing you so sometimes

that's what happens when you post way too much and I know for some people they

might say that about me that sometimes I upload too much I have a goal with this

channel and my goal is to post as much as I can at least once a day every now

and then I might post twice a day but it's not something that I do

consistently consistently I try to post almost every day

and I'll try to post about four or five times a week I've been seeing some

success as I'm gonna show you here so this is what happened with my channel

over the last 17 months I basically started uploading videos if I'm not

wrong consistently I started with the vlogs on the day that me and my wife

could announce that my daughter was going to exist I don't remember it was

10 or 12 weeks or my wife's pregnancy and we started this vlog with my wife's

pregnancy video since then I've been trying to upload as much as I can every

now and then especially when I do trips I tried I tried to upload every day and

over the last two trips that I did to Europe one for winter crash and the last

one that took me a month in Europe I saw my channel growing a lot mainly again

because I was posting every single day so with this video I want you to

understand some things about social media last time we spoke about our your

content should be different for different social media platforms today

we spoke about consistency and I'm gonna keep going with these social media

series the main go with this is to make scaling grow so if you like this video

do not forget to subscribe to the channel maybe click on that one I

promise you I'm not gonna annoy you more than once a day and it's not gonna be

annoying learning something okay press this one

and you'll get notifications every time I upload one of these and if you like

this video well thumbs up if you didn't like it

thumbs down and more important than anything just don't forget why we all

started skating and that is because it's fun cheers guys and see you soon

177. Equal Pay Training - Duration: 0:54.

Hey guys and welcome to goodness!

Today's goodness is about Boston's

equal pay training!

There is still a huge gender

pay gap problem in the US,

with women earning 76 cents

to the man's dollar.

Boston has been under the

Massachusetts Equal Pay Act since 2016,

but employers weren't acting,

and the employees weren't asking!

So, the Boston Women's Workforce Council

has stepped up to fix this problem,

by training both companies,

and the women employees themselves,

on how to achieve equal pay!

It was a struggle at first,

but now they've met with over 223 companies

to help them figure out

how better to advance women.

And they also offer free

salary negotiation workshops to women,

who learn about how to

identify their target salary,

and how to negotiate with their bosses.

There's even been a woman who

got a $20,000 pay raise!

So here's to equal pay!

And that's today's goodness!

See you tomorrow!

Squeaky Floor Castle Japan - Nijo Castle in Kyoto - Duration: 3:28.

Today we visit Nijo Castle in Kyoto,

an extremely important place in Japan

and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Nijo Castle is where the history of Japan

changed from feudal Japan

to the modern Japan

that we know of today.

In 1868, the Meiji Declaration was signed at Nijo Castle inside the Ninomaru Palace

which restored ruling power to the emperor.

This declaration ended

the reign of the military leaders

known as shoguns

and ended the entire

way of the samurai.

Nijo Castle was built in 1603

by Tokugawa Ieyasu,

the first shogun of the Edo period,

also known as the Tokugawa period (1603 - 1868).

For Japan, the Edo period was a time of

peace and stability.

The Tokugawas also moved the capital of Japan

from Kyoto to Edo,

which we now call Tokyo.

Nijo Castle was where the Tokugawa shoguns

lived and conducted business

when they visited Kyoto.

The lords and samurais were the only ones invited

into the inner rooms to see the shogun.

Low ranking people were only allowed

in the outside rooms of the palace.

The first Tokugawa, Ieyasu,

banished Christianity

and almost completely isolated Japan from

trading with the rest of the world

to protect Japan and the power of the shogun.

He also burned the Osaka Castle to the ground

and killed the entire Toyotomi people because

the Toyotomi's were a threat to the Tokugawas.

At the end of the Tokugawa period in 1868,

the Tokugawa hollyhock crest

was removed from the Nijo Castle

and replaced with the imperial chrysanthemum.

Inside the palace,

the nightingale floors served as an alarm system.

When someone walks on the floors

the wood rubs on the nails

making a sound like a nightingale bird chirping!

The elaborate woodwork and ornate gold leaf

inside the palace showed all visitors the

power and wealth of the shogun.

In 1750 and in 1788,

fire destroyed the five story castle

and parts of the palace

which were never rebuilt.

When you visit the castle,

you can walk inside the Ninomaru Palace.

Pictures are not allowed inside the palace

and you will need to remove your shoes

when you enter.

Because of the large variety of cherry trees

inside the castle garden,

cherry blossom season

lasts from late March through all of April.

I recommend closed toe shoes

because small pebbles line the garden pathways.

Be sure to take the stairs

to the top of the castle wall

for great views of the castle

and the moat.

Nijo Castle is open from 8:45 to 5

but the last admission is at 4

and the palace closes at 4 as well.

It is closed on Tuesdays in December, January, July, and August.

If a Tuesday is a national holiday,

the castle will also be closed on Wednesday.

The castle is also closed

December 26th through January 4th.

Early morning is the best time to visit

to avoid the crowds.

Admission is 600 Yen, cash only.

There is an ATM machine near the ticket office

if you need it.

The Nijo Castle is across the street from

Nijojo-mae Station.

Thank you for joining us at the Nijo Castle.

Consider subscribing

if you would like more concise travel videos

full of practical tips

and useful information.

Until next time, cheers!
