Waching daily Dec 29 2017

this will be a flower variation of the cheerful flower and I've made it to be

approximately the same size as the cheerful flower so it will fit in this

is the progress I've made with my cheerful flower blanket I decided I

wanted to add some different flowers in and this is a variation I came up with

it will fit in this shows I've taken a bullion stitch flower and put it right

in with the rest of my flower Afghan that I'm piecing together and it just

fits in there nice and perfect the hook size is AG or four millimeter crochet

hook this is a size tapestry needle I used for the smaller bullion stitch this

is the tapestry needle I purchased which is a larger one that I'll be using for

this project I bought it from jo-ann fabric and crafts we'll start with a

chain five join chain one work a single crochet chain 5 slip stitch in the

single crochet work two single crochet chain five

slip stitch in the single crochet work two single crochet chain 5 slip stitch

in the single crochet work two single crochet through the loop chain 5 slip

stitch in the single crochet work two single crochet through the loop when

this is complete we'll have a total of six loops 12 single crochet we have two

more loops of 5 to do

work to single crochet now we're working on our last loop slip stitch in the top

of the single crochet work one single crochet slip stitch with the beginning

single crochet I'm going to leave this loop I'm not going to cut it off and

change colors now I'm going to take my little contraption for making the

boolean flower and I'm going to slip it right in here between my gooshie grip

and the other way is if you just have the plastic tube of course I already

have a plastic tube on here you can do it this way but I found that since I

have the gooshie grip on here I like to have a little bit more space and it

makes them a little bit more full by doing it just about like that the longer

needle works better with the larger crochet hooks and it'll stretch across

the front I can use this tapestry needle with an H or an eye crochet hook pull

the loop up drop it from the hook insert the hook and the tapestry needle through

the loop wrap the yarn around the tapestry needle and hook seven times

four five six seven insert the hook through the loop with the tapestry

needle going on top wrap the yarn over the hook pull it through and then pull

through all the loops wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through

you

I am making my Slipknot and I will be slip stitching my new color onto the

flower you can start it in any loop when we're finished we'll be cutting the

green now chain three now pull up and make a larger loop here take the hook

off the loop insert the hook and the tapestry needle through the loop just

like that i've been wrapping the yarn around seven times you can do more or

less it's your choice there's four five six

seven now i insert the hook through the loop with the needle going on the top

wrap the yarn over pull it through the loop grab a hold of all the loops pull

it through just like that wrap the yarn over the hook pull it through and I've

completed my first bullion stitch pull the loop up that you just completed drop

it from the hook insert the hook and the tapestry needle through the loop wrap

your yarn around seven times there's two three four five six seven insert the

hook through the loop the tapestry needle goes on top wrap the yarn over

the hook pull it through and then pull it through the loops just like that wrap

the yarn over and pull through now to our complete pull the loop up drop it

from the hook insert the hook and the tapestry needle through the loop wrap

the yarn around the tapestry needle and hook seven times there's four five six

seven insert the hook through the loop with the tapestry needle going on top

wrap the yarn over the hook pull it through and then pull through all the

loops

wrap the yarn over the hook and pull through pull the loop up drop it from

the hook insert the hook and the tapestry needle through the loop wrap it

around seven times three four five six seven insert the hook through the loop

tapestry needle goes on top wrap the yarn over the hook pull through pull

through all the loops wrap the yarn over the hook pull through to secure we've

completed for bullion stitches we have one more to do pull the loop up drop it

from the hook insert the hook and tapestry needle through the loop wrap it

around seven times there's two three four five six seven insert the hook

through the loop wrap the yarn over the hook pull it through pull through all

the loops wrap the yarn over the hook pull through the loop to complete the

five bling stitches for the first petal do two more chains and then work a

single crochet in this loop work a single crochet in the next loop and I've

temporarily removed my tapestry needle because it does get in the way sometimes

chain three I'm going to put it back on

pull the loop up drop the loop from the hook insert the crochet hook and

tapestry needle through the loop wrap the yarn around seven times four five

six seven insert the crochet hook through the loop tapestry needle on top

wrap the yarn over over the hook pull it through pull through all seven loops

wrap the yarn over the hook and chain to secure

and you'll be working five bullion stitches you can decide how many bullion

stitches you want to make if you want to modify your flower there's a chain three

single crochet at the end single crochet on the first loop with a chain three

five bullion stitches worked and all the petals are the same now I have two more

stitches to do

I work the last single crochet slip stitch with the beginning chain

now I've completed the petals I'm going to remove my tapestry needle I don't

need it at this point I'm going to pick up my pink yarn that I left attached

wrap the yarn over the hook pull it through and I'm going to work a single

crochet through the single crochet round like that in the chains I'm going to

work a slip stitch the next chain work a slip stitch in the next chain work a

slip stitch if we flip our flower around there are long loops that were formed

when we created the bullion stitch we're going to use those and we are going to

insert our hook under the loop and make one single crochet and then make a

second single crochet we will be putting two single crochet in each loop on the

back side there's one two and I'm just inserting my hook underneath like that

one inserting it through again two so we'll have ten single crochet across the

top one two one two

and we will do one slip stitch in each chain

work a single crochet in the single crochet round below and this is what we

have for our petals now work one slip stitch in each of the three chains

two single crochet in each loop on the backside

these are the loops that I'm referring to there are there should be five and

work one two three four two single crochet in each loop go over to the

third loop five six

seven eight

nine ten

now work a slip stitch in each chain now will single crochet in the single

crochet around below between the petals just like that now we've completed two

petals each of the remaining four petals will be done the same way one slip

stitch in each of the three chains two single crochet in each loop on the

backside for a total of ten one slip stitch in each of the three chains on

the way down between the petals and then the single crochet I have finished the

edging around to the beginning single crochet I'm going to work a slip stitch

to join cut the yarn and then pull through the tail this completes the

bullion variation to the cheerful flower

this will show how to place the bullion flower in to the Afghan this petal will

be attached here the next petal will be attached here this one will be attached

right here and the last one right here so we will need for open petals it is

not necessary for the edging amount of the different flowers to match since

they are being centered you can find your Center and then kind of eyeball it

and place them in they don't have to be exact I'm at the center of my flower I

find the center of the matching flower make sure you have the right side facing

which I didn't so I had to flip it over otherwise I would have been adding my

flower to the wrong side now slip stitch it in just like that I'm going to work

one more single crochet in the loop I have two more loops back here

which means for single crochet now I met the center of the next flower petal this

is the one we just attached now I'm going to be working with these two

petals I'm at the center of my next flower petal and I'm going to pick up

two loops for added security to the other flower petal attach this flower

petal to this flower petal wrap the yarn over pull it through now in the same

space work the second partial single crochet and attach it to the next flower

petal continue on around with the edging to the next flower petal I'm at the

third flower petal and I'm picking up the two loops here I will be joining

right in here I'm attaching to the first petal

and work a single crochet in the same space attached to the next flower petal

and continue around to the last flower petal we've completed these three flower

petals or at the last flower petal

and continuing around to finish the edging that completes attaching the

flower

I actually made new years resolutions this year || Christi Kerr - Duration: 4:32.

So I've never really been a New Year's resolution person. Like, in the past, if

I've made them at all, I'll like make them and then like kind of

half-heartedly try to follow them for maybe a week, and then forget about them,

so it just really hasn't suited me. But this year it kind of changed a little

bit. And I think that's because like 2017 was not the greatest year for me, and so

I feel like I did a lot of growing, and you know, I got rid of some bad habits,

which was really nice. And I'm kind of enjoying, you know,

improving myself as a person and setting goals for myself and stuff like that, so

I decided to make some New Year's resolutions. And the New Year's

resolutions are pretty distinctly different from kind of my 2017 goals,

which those may not really be in my control. Like, would love to get a

full-time job in my field and be able to move out of my old childhood bedroom.

That would be super great, but not guaranteed to actually happen, I may have

to start broadening my search to jobs not quite in my field. So that's more of

a goal, and then my resolutions are things that I can actively, for sure

change. First, I'd like to meet more people, especially in the city where I

live now, because a lot of my college friends are still in the college town,

and I don't see them as much. And like, I do have friends here where I live now,

and they're great and I love them and I love spending time with them, but I kind

of do want to expand my social circle a little bit and try to meet some more

people, maybe go to meetup groups or see if I can find some organizations to join

or stuff like that, I guess. I'm like such an introvert, so it's kind of weird that

this would be my chosen resolution instead of just getting closer to the

people who I already know who are here, but I don't know it just kind of sounded

like what I wanted to do. My second New Year's resolution

is I'm gonna try to read at least two books a month, which should be totally

doable, but like I kind of got out of the habit

of reading for fun during my last couple years of college, and I was just reading

for class exclusively. And more recently I've really gotten back into reading, and

it's something that I want to push myself to make time for more, because

it's just really nice, and like kind of a soothing thing that I can do just by

myself. My third resolution, which is a pretty common one, is to exercise more,

which has kind of been just like a common theme throughout my life, except

for like when I'm in marching band, because I don't do all that much

exercise; I find most of it very like uncomfortable and not enjoyable at all.

And so the exercise that I do enjoy is playing Dance Dance Revolution on my old

Wii. Which, DDR isn't always a good source of exercise, but I kind of got really

good at it when I was in high school, and so I play on expert a lot, and it is

definitely exercise at that point. And then my fourth and final revolution...

Revolution? Wow. My fourth resolution is to plan out in

advance what videos I'm going to make each week, because that's a big part of

the reason that I would miss weeks sometimes this year, is I wouldn't have a

plan for what video I was gonna put up that day, and so then I kind of just like

would be like "Oh I'll think about it for a while," and then the day would be over and

then I just kind of never get around to filming anything, because I didn't have a

plan for what I was gonna do. And hopefully it'll mean better content for

you guys as well, because I'll be kind of planning it out more ahead of time.

Thank you so much for watching, I love you all very much, and I'll see ya next week.

Next year.

How to Wind a Yarn Ball GLOBE by Hand - Left Hand - Crochet Geek English Subtitles Translations HD - Duration: 5:03.

in this tutorial I will show how to roll balls of yard just by using your hand

when my yarn starts looking like this it's about time to roll it into a ball

it becomes unmanageable and a little bit harder to work with it may tend to get

knots and so I've wound the end of it up here and now we're to this which is

pulling out of the center you can see it starts to turn into a little bit of a

mess here so at this time it would be easier to roll it into a ball and so

before I get too big of a knot what I'm going to do this is how I do it I just

use my hand I just start by wrapping it around like this and I do it several

times just fast like that

I need to make sure that this doesn't turn into a knot and just continue

wrapping and you do have to contend with these little messes from time to time

I'm sure a lot of you know and have had experience with this little mess now I'm

going to take it off and I'm going to crisscross it in this direction and then

we're going around like this and I'm just crossing over the part that I just

made with my hand like this now I'm going around in this direction now I

will twist it a little bit like this and go around in this direction and then I'm

consistently moving it around and then I start to form a ball and this is how I

would make the little tiny balls say I have a little bit of yarn left over then

I just roll them up like this I have never bought a machine or anything

I have always rolled them up like this then I just keep rolling and rolling and

I'm moving it around so the yarn is not in the same place so you can see I'm

just moving it with my fingers and

moving it in this direction but I'm when I go fast like this I just keep moving

it fast it creates a nice even ball and then sometimes I'll move it like this

just to keep the ball moving keeping the thread dispersed evenly

and I'll slow down again and you can see how I'm moving the ball towards my hand

going in this direction this is how I'm moving it I'm using this finger you can

see right here I'm spinning it on my finger like that and just using my hand

to create the ball and then I may want to cover that part up and I'll start a

new place and spin it around for a while in this direction and then I'll move it

in this direction

this is how much I have left I do have quite a bit of winding to do before it's

complete so I will go on ahead and finish winding the ball and when I come

back it will be a little bit larger than what it is right now now I'm almost

finished here winding up my ball I've got a little bit here to go you'll want

to be careful and keep this spread out or you may end up with a knot this is

one of the places where it can run up pretty easy at any time and now I'm just

about done here and this is what I have nice ball

and the thread is evenly dispersed then I can add that to my other balls and

this one blends in but you can see it's still a very large yarn ball

Trump's $285 Million Budget Cut Hurts the UN a Lot More Than You - Duration: 5:13.

Trumps $285 Million Budget Cut Hurts the UN a Lot More Than Youd Think

Former White House advisor Sebastian Gorka claimed the U.S. pays over 20 percent of the

U.N. budget on Fox & Friends Saturday.

We are paying more than 20 percent of the U.N.s budget.

If you look at the peacekeeping activities, the military side of the house, we are paying

almost a third, 28 percent, Gorka said.

The U.S. must pay 22 percent of the U.N. budget for 2016 to 2018.

The U.S. contributes an even higher share for some agencies within the U.N.

The U.N. determines required contribution levels for each member state based on factors

like gross national income and debt.

Based on this calculation, the U.S. paid 22 percent of the U.N.s $5.4 billion budget

for 2016 and 2017, the maximum contribution allowed.

State Department documents confirm the U.S. allocated $1.2 billion toward the budget during

these years.

U.S. funding of U.N. operations is under scrutiny after 128 member states voted to condemn President

Donald Trumps decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israels capital Thursday.

Trump threatened to cut U.S. funding to countries that voted for the resolution.

U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley called the resolution disrespectful, particularly because the U.S.

pays more than any other country to the U.N.

When we make generous contributions to the U.N., we also have a legitimate expectation

that our good will is recognized and respected, she said in remarks before the U.N. General

Assembly Thursday.

Then Haley announced Sunday that the U.S. had negotiated a $285 million cut for the

U.N.s 2018-2019 budget.

The new budget reduced the UNs bloated management and support functions, bolstered

support for key U.S. priorities throughout the world, and instilled more discipline and

accountability throughout the U.N system, according to a statement from Haleys office.

Some argue the U.S. contribution share is reasonable since the U.S. accounts for about

a quarter of the worlds income.

The next-highest contributors to the U.N. budget are Japan at 9.7 percent and China

at 7.9 percent, although China holds the second-largest share of world income at 14 percent.

RELATED: Sarah Sanders is Winning Hearts With a Post-Christmas Tribute to Hero Brothers

Gorka also correctly stated the U.S. pays for 28 percent of the U.N.s peacekeeping

budget, which costs the U.S. about $2.4 billion per year.

The U.N. agreed in June to cut its peacekeeping budget by $570 million to $7.3 billion after

pressure from the U.S.

The U.S. wanted to cut the peacekeeping budget to under $7 billion.

Just five months into our time here, weve already been able to cut over half a billion

dollars from the UN peacekeeping budget and were only getting started, Haley said

in June when she announced the cuts.

In addition to the U.N. regular and peacekeeping budgets, the U.S. contributes to U.N. agencies

like the World Health Organization, World Food Program and UNICEF.

The U.S. contributed $1.5 billion to the U.N. Refugee Agency in 2016, 38 percent of the

agencys total revenue.

This is the largest proportion of U.N. agency revenue funded by the U.S.

The U.S. contributed more than $10 billion in total to U.N. agencies in 2016, of which

$6 billion was voluntary, according to the Council on Foreign Relations.

U.N. contributions account for about 20 percent of U.S. foreign aid spending each year.

Critics of U.S.-led budget cuts worry they will harm U.N. programs and threaten agreed-upon

contribution levels.

But the U.S. has shown no signs it will reverse course.

We will no longer let the generosity of the American people be taken advantage of

or remain unchecked, Haley said in a statement Sunday.

Writing 15 Pages Of A Screenplay Per Day by Christine Conradt - Duration: 4:33.

Film Courage: So let's suppose…let's have it be one [project that Christine is

working on] because I'm really curious how you spend your time and how you organize [your

day].

If you have 4 weeks to write a first draft for one [screenplay], what's your work schedule

going to be like?

Christine Conradt: My process is a little different than most people.

I write 15 pages a day.

So basically I figure out when it's due and I back out 15 pages per day and I take

into consideration if I've got something going on in the afternoon.

Like today is not a 15 page day because I'm with you guys.

Film Courage: Thank you!

Christine Conradt: And then I work until those 15 pages are done.

So if I'm done at 3:00 o'clock because I had a great writing day and it went really

smoothly fantastic.

If it takes me until 9:00 o'clock, it takes me until 9:00 o'clock and then that's

when I end my day.

It helps me to do that because I keep on track and I also I don't get caught up in my own

"Oh my gosh!

I'm loving this.

I just want to keep going."

Because that can happen to, when you're really on a role writing you will…I mean

I've had that happen where you don't eat and you just keep working through the night

and you're just so excited about what you're writing.

That's fine but you can't make a living living that way, right?

You have relationships and I have people and dinner to make and things like that and so

I stop when I (this is my way of doing it), I stop at 15 pages and that's it and pick

back up tomorrow and start again.

Film Courage: Wow.

Were you always so precise with it?

I mean that's amazing.

Christine Conradt: Yeah.

It kind of feels very…I know that seems very technical, for something that is so creative.

But again, like I said before, you have to look at this like a business, right?

So you have to plan and organize and figure out what's giving you the best results and

for me, this gave me the best results.

Because I know at page 11, I only have a few more pages to do and I can be done.

And at the beginning of every day I start out and I go "Okay, that's enough."

It's a big enough chunk that I'm not forcing myself to go back and reread.

That's a deadly thing that writers do is they go back and they rewrite themselves over

and over.

So it forces you to keep moving through and then you do your rewrite at the end.

Film Courage: So once those 110 pages are done (or whatever), that's when you go back?

Christine Conradt: That's when I go back.

And I build in a couple of days off because you need that time away from it to kind of

forget about it a little bit and then when I come back, I reread it.

I give myself 2 or 3 days to do the rewrite and it's basically just cleaning everything

up or changing act breaks or if I've come up with an idea in between that time to add,

then I'll do that.

Film Courage: That's great because you want to think that you are your own boss but really

the network is your boss.

You're working for them but you've also got to monitor yourself.

That sounds like a great way to keep yourself on track so you're not doing 2 pages a day,

but you are not burning yourself out.

Christine Conradt: Right.

And I think also think you can get obsessed with "Is the writing good?

Is it not good?

Do I like this?

Do I not like it?"

When you have to get those 15 pages done, eventually you have to say "Darn it.

I've got to move on."

It forces you to move on.

Which I think is good for the process because nothing really good comes from sitting there

obsessing over the same scene.

So, it is what it is.

I've moved on.

I can come back to it and giving yourself permission to do that I think is very healthy

and I think it's actually good for the process and the product.

Film Courage: Let's suppose you have 3 projects going.

Are you still doing 15 pages [a day]?

Christine Conradt: It depends.

So…yes, 15 pages on something.

Some writers will say I'm going to do 7 pages on this project in the morning and then

7 pages later.

I don't do that.

I say "Okay, I'm doing 15 pages on this and taking 3 days off to work on the next

project and then I come back to it.

So that's how I organize it.

I have a hard time splitting it up and trying to work on different multiple projects in

the same day, especially at 15 pages.

I think if you were doing fewer maybe, but 15 is pretty ambitious.

Film Courage: Yeah, that sounds difficult if the stories are so different or you just

want to keep the character and all of that separate and to have to split it up in one

day for your mind.

Christine Conradt: It's worse when they are actually similar.

Like if they are both projects for the same network or they are both thrillers because

that's when it gets confusing.

It's actually better when you are doing like a romantic comedy and then also working

on a thriller because they're so different, you don't mix those characters up at all.

McCain In PANIC: A New Subpoena Issued About The Notorious Trump-Dossier! - Duration: 2:54.

McCain In PANIC: A New Subpoena Issued About The Notorious Trump-Dossier!

John McCain gave the Trump dossier to former FBI Director James Comey after he received

it from Christopher Steele.

The Hill reported:

The House Intelligence Committee has issued a subpoena to an associate of Sen. John McCain

(R-Ariz.) over his connection with the controversial dossier containing unverified allegations

about President Trump and his ties to Russia, The Hill Confirmed on Wednesday.

Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) wants to talk to David Kramer, a former State

Department official and current senior director at the nonprofit McCain Institute, about his

visit to London in November 2016, a source familiar with the matter confirmed.

While in London, Kramer met with the dossier's author, former British spy Christopher Steele,

at McCain's request, to view "the pre-election memoranda on a confidential basis," according

to court filings.

Of course, John McCain did not say if he knew whether this dossier was funded by Clinton

and the DNC.

Breitbart reported that:

PHILADELPHIA – Sen. John McCain may find himself facing serious questions following

the disclosure that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee helped

fund the research utilized in the infamous, largely discredited 35-page dossier on President

Donald Trump.

In December, it was McCain who notoriously passed the controversial dossier documents

produced by the Washington opposition research firm Fusion GPS to then FBI Director James

Comey, whose agency reportedly utilized the dossier as some of the basis for its probe

into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

McCain's office did not immediately respond to Breitbart News phone and email requests

for comment about whether the Arizona senator was aware that the research he passed to the

FBI was paid for by the DNC and Clinton's campaign.

McCain's office also did not immediately respond to a request for information on how

he first obtained the dossier.

The Washington Post on Tuesday reported that in April 2016, attorney Marc E. Elias and

his law firm, Perkins Coie, retained Fusion GPS to conduct the questionable research on

behalf of both the Clinton campaign and the DNC.

Through Perkins Coie, Clinton's campaign and the DNC continued to fund Fusion GPS until

October 2016, days before Election day, the Post reported.

Fusion GPS went on to hire former intelligence agent Christopher Steele to do the purported

research.

Steele later conceded in a court document that part of his work still needed to be verified.
