I wanted to be a Gyaru once.
I wanted to wear one big sweater, show my legs but I'm to old for that now.
I can't do that anymore...
Not as far as Ganguro but very much gyaru!
Hey guys it's Cathy Cat.
On my personal channel I try to motivate people to be who they are and dress
how they want to do, dress and do the things they want to do.
In Japan this time we will go and ask Japanese people,
What kind of fashion style they are curious about, what style they would love to do but
they don't feel brave enough to to. Or they wanted to try and haven't tried yet.
That's a question I am quite curious about, so let's find out.

so you don't miss any future videos that we do here with Japanese people in Tokyo.
Let's start the video and ask Japanese.
Is there a fashion style you wanted to do but never tried in the end?
I wanted to be a Gyaru girl...
There was a time when I wanted to wear their makeup and long lashes.
What's the image you have of current gyaru girls?
Dark. Their skins are so tanned.
And their fake eyelashes seem to be really important.
They use so many eyelashes that their eye line becomes all black.
- Because they layer. - Yes they layer up their lashes.
Is there a cute fashions style you always wanted to try but never did?
I wanted to wear Harajuku kawaii style, dye my hair colorful colors...
wear just one sweater and show off my legs.
I wanted to do it at least once but I am too old for that now.
I can't do that anymore.
Same, I wanted to try Harajuku Fashion and have colorful hair.
Was there also a time when you were interested in Gyaru fashion?
I am interested in Gyaru fashion.
Even nowadays, I still would like to try and be a gyaru. - Same here.
What type of gyaru do you want to be? Ganguro or a softer type.
I wanted to try and be a proper Kurogal.
I wanted to wear leopard items and such.
Leopard print, short pants and dark makeup, coming to get you.
Is there a fashion you didn't try?
I am still a university student. But In Japan we have university student girl fashion.
Everyone wears some light colors.
Those cute clothes, I wanted to wear and haven't tried yet.
I still admire that style.
From cute university student fashion, what would you like to try?
The style you are wearing today.
You mean Lolita fashion? - Yes I wanted to try that!
But I wasn't brave enough for it.
Please do!!!
Your tights look so cute too.
Is there a fashion you wanted to do but didn't or only did for a short time?
I was a Gyaruo (male gyaru)
The male equivalent to gyaru?
Yes, my fringe went down to here.
And on my neckline I had a collar that went down to here.
I turned it all inside out like that.
I split my fringe like that.
I split it into spikes and fluffed it up for lots of volume.
Yeah I did that.
I also wore lots of chains attached to my clothes.
Like a cheap flashy guy!
I looked like a womanizer or... a host boy.
If you look like a hostclub man, then that's pretty much Gyaruo
But I realized that that's not really that cool so...
That's when I started to copy fashionable artists styles
I started wearing clothes like these, and it became quite natural to me.
Do Gyaruo guys hang out with Gyaru girls?
Gyaruo guys hang generally out with blonde girls.
It's all about the blondes.
I learned something there.
I really want to become a real gyaru.
There is a famous Gyaru YouTuber...
Not as far as Ganguro but very much gyaru!
I really wanna dress all up for it. - Lashes and all.
Super big lashes and all super Gyaru style.
What do you like about gyaru girls? - They are super cute.
It's a different type of kawaii and cute that you get in Harajuku.
What's different between the styles?
Harajuku style is very girly.
It's the type of cute that girls like.
Those were our questions. Thank you
You could see that many people were curious about a different fashion style
because in Japan there are many different fashion styles
Many weren't brave enough or thought they couldn't pull it off.
Which I find very sad because I would like to inspire everyone
and you guys as well to give you a little push to say
"Come on, wear the stuff you wanna wear!"
Be the person you wanna be and do the things you wanna do.
Because life is very short and if we don't use the chance and the time that we have now
then it's a waste of the chance and the time that we have been given.
The present is a gift. Present... gift... present...
You know what I mean. Anyways. I wish you a lovely day.
I hope you feel inspired to wear something else.
