Waching daily Mar 5 2018

The Donkey and the Horse.

One day, a donkey and an horse were going to the market.

The donkey was carrying a huge burden on his back

The horse, instead, was free from weight.

The donkey could barely stand, while the horse was merrily trotting around.

The road was becoming more and more winding, and the poor little donkey made extraordinary efforts to stay up.

Suddenly, when he noticed that he couldn't take it anymore, he turned to the companion:

"You aren't carrying any burden, could you help me?"

But the horse replied haughty:

"My dear friend, why should I be blamed if you were charged with such burden, and not me?

All you have to do is to transport your cargo.

While I will go free."

So, the two animals went on side by side.

Until, exhausted, the poor donkey fell to the ground and he broke a leg.

"Ah! It hurts!"

Complained the little donkey.

"How can I walk in these conditions? Moreover, with that weight on the back?

The horse was watching surprised at his friend, and understood he was really suffering.

What happened then was only to be expected.

The donkey, incapable of walking, rode on the back of the horse, with his enormous baggage

If the horse had helped him before, this wouldn't have happened!

And so, the animal had to continue the road with all that big burden!

The horse arrived knackered to the market, but the lesson was served for him to think:

He understood that in life you always have to help others, because if you don't cooperate before, sometimes you have to bear a double burden then.

Tiny Shipping Container House Deck - Living Tiny Project - Ep. 018 Part 2/3 - Duration: 17:26.

Hello.

Hello.

Well, we didn't finish the wooden deck on our tiny shipping container house yet.

But we're getting really close to it.

Yeah. We have assembled all the joists on place.

And that's what we are gonna talk about today.

So, let's get it started.

I know you must be wondering what we're gonna talk about.

It's just like you know connecting a joist on a beam. That's something really simple, right?

Well, for a professional it's probably really really simple.

For us anything we do we always have questions, we always have doubts.

And we always I don't know it's never that simple as it seems.

Yeah. But, we have learned a lot with all the process.

And that's what we're gonna talk about today.

Yeah. We are gonna show you guys all the decisions we needed to make.

What we decide, how we did it.

And in the end we're gonna give you guys some tips about the whole process and what we learned with it.

Yeah.

So, the first decision and probably like the main big decision was

how to connect the beam to the joist.

And that was the first time that we asked you about it.

Yeah.

So.

Yeah. Actually we've thought about two choices.

First choice would be to basically you know .. I'm gonna draw it. Probably like somewhere around here.

The first choice was to get the beam and the joist and have a screw 45 degrees connecting both parts.

And then we thought about the second choice that would be to have the beam and the joist

and to have a screw straight 90 degrees on the center of the joist.

Most of the people said that the second one would be better. But they came up with another solution.

Yeah. The thing is most of the people said this second choice would be the best one.

But we were still not too sure about it. I mean like...

Because the dimension of the hole would be really big and the wood is not as wide.

So I think the section of the beam will be... I mean too small for the size of the hole.

And maybe it would be weak on the tip.

So, someone gave us a third option.

Yeah. What's the name of the...?

Bracket.

Yeah.

Metal bracket.

On the side.

Yeah.

So, that's the drawing.

So, it's basically like, we would have like a metal bracket in between the joists in the beam.

But we had a problem.

It's hard to find the size that we want in Brazil and if you find it's really expensive.

Yes. So basically... we actually even thought about this before I think but the problem is the price.

I'm I mean like it's impossible. It's like it was just so expensive to buy one, you know big one.

and the cheap one was really small and I don't think it would hold on place.

So we decided to make ourselves the brackets.

And... what happened?

Yeah.

It's like a snowball.

Yeah. It's always like a snow ball. You make a decision and then you need to make another one...

Yeah. Seems like building is just like a bunch of decisions you need to keep making.

Every single day.

And when you make one it becomes necessary to make another one.

it's just decision after decision.

So, we had the choice of buying the metal like in a L shape.

And we needed to do the holes.

And to cut it into pieces.

Slide, splice, sply... Split.

To split in pieces.

Ok.

So basically we bought a big piece of metal on the right shape

and then we just you know did all the holes we needed and then we just split.

For doing the holes we needed to buy another equipment.

Yeah. The problem is like we could do with a regular drill,

but it's really thick, it's like 3 millimetres thick, the metal.

And then it would take forever. And then the regular drill machine is too fast, the rotation.

And we decided that would be much easier if we had a drill press.

So.

Another decision.

So, we had the option of buying a brand new small and not too powerful drill press

or we could get almost the same amount of money and buy a bigger one, stronger one but used.

And we found one.

We found a used one.

We found one.

So, we decided to go... yeah.

So we decide to go with the used one. So we bought a half horsepower drew press.

That's... I always want to have one. And it's really good.

And a brand new one of this one was like four times the price of the one that we bought.

Yeah. We paid like a quarter of the price. So it was a really good choice.

So, I guess we can go...

We already like always... we're just talking too much. I'm sorry.

It's just the way I am. I like to talk and like communicate. You can tell.

She's a little bit shy, she won't talk as much as me, but happens.

So, like always we're gonna show you guys a video clip showing the whole process of what we did.

And the results.

And then we're gonna show the mistakes we made and the tips we can give you.

Yeah. I mean like...

We learned a lot all the way so we're gonna give you guys some tips that I think we wish we had before.

We wish we... that someone gave us the tips before.

So...

Let's go.

With not further due.

Let's start the video clip. Now.

(black matte vinyl)

So we're slowly putting all the joists to the top of the shipping container.

But it's raining. So you're not gonna fix them today.

Tomorrow hopefully, if the rain stops, we're gonna screw all on place.

So we can start the second part of the roof.

Let's keep working because we still have another 2, 4 ...

I don't know... like 20 joists to bring up. So... let's keep working.

I hope you guys enjoy the video clip. If you did don't forget to leave a thumbs up.

And if you didn't subscribe to the channel just pause the video go down the video.. there is subscribe.

You know we have a new episode every Monday and if you subscribe and if you click the little bell.

I did right this time.

We can notify you when there is a new episode and you can follow our journey.

I mean... if you enjoy it you can subscribe.

So, let's get back to work.

Well, now that you have seen what we did it's time to talk about tips.

Let's start with the wood.

Yeah. So when we buy the wood they sell like a regular measurement.

Yeah. We bought already on the size we need, that is 6 by 12 centimetres section by 3 meters long.

So we supposedly had all in the same length.

But...

In reality.

Yeah.

I mean like they're really close to the same length

but one is like 3 meters and the other one is like 3.1 meters and the other one is 2.98.

And these small measurements makes a difference when you put all together.

And they are not 6, they are 5 and half.

Yeah. That's the other thing. Because they call it 6 by 12 but in reality it's 5 and a half by 11 and a half.

Because they plained the wood.

So. First, let's start with the lenght.

We thought all the woods were 3 meters long,

so you know like the end of the the joist would be all straight.

And in reality it wasn't like that.

So, we decided to get the outside and make it straight.

And then we're gonna fix the other side when we do the finishing

because you're gonna have a piece of wood on end.

So we're gonna somehow you know fix this different lengths.

So, the second problem, as she was saying, was the thickness of the wood.

Because I thought it was 6 centimeters.

So we did the math, like we count that the joists of the edges...

Yeah. We fix the last joist.

The one before that one.

Yeah. Actually we did the one before the last, because the beam sometimes is not that straight on the tip.

We decided to do this one before the last the one before the last and we fix that on place.

And then we measured this space in between both joists and divided by the amount of space we had.

So that means...

And then we did a template.

And then we did a template.

Yeah. So we did a template to put in between each.

So we would you know have a joist put a template another joist fix it up another template and keep going.

And we are lucky that we didn't fix it up before.

Yeah, That's a good thing... you always try 3 times on place before you screw it.

The thing is we did the math thinking we had 6 centimeters wood

and in fact we had 5 and a half centimeters wood.

So 15 spaces times half centimeter in the end we had like

I don't know like 10 centimeters.

It was a mistake like this big.

So, tip number 1.

Don't trust the measurements you think you have.

Make sure you measure yourself and you know try or place before you screw anything.

Like maybe 3 times you try and then you screw it.

We did the templates 3 times and on the third time we got it right.

Yeah. And that's ok.

And the second tip.

The second tip was about the bracket.

Yeah.

First: the bracket when you screw... when you do the holes on the brackets

I thought on doing like you know like straight on the same measurements.

But the bottom hole makes harder to use the drill machine.

So, try to drill the hole, the bottom hole, a little bit higher, so it makes easier to drill it on place later.

Some of them you needed to screw by hand.

Yeah. Some of them I needed to do by hand because the machine would just wouldn't get on place.

The other thing... no, before that.

I know what you're gonna talk about. But before that. She was gonna skip a small part.

Just to make sure you have the right...

Just to make sure you make the hole and you don't burn the drill...

I know this one.

So, you need to use the lowest speed you have in your machine and you need to use oil to do the holes.

Yes. Actually I used a lot of oil. Like... just to do one hole I would put like 3 times oil.

I don't know if it's too much but it worked.

All the time when the oil started getting low we would hear like #$%&.

Like some weird noises that I think it was not lubricated enough.

So, oil is the key.

Speed and oil.

The lowest speed you can get and a lot of oil and you do like a perfect hole.

Yeah.

Now let's go to the third tip that she was talking about.

So if you do the hole... how can I explain that?

I don't know how to explain that.

Because what we did, you saw on the footage,

we have the beam and the joist and we put the bracket

and then we did like the pre hole before screwing it on place.

And if you just do the pre hole without you know putting weight on the top of the joists,

sometimes the hole is a little bit too high.

And that means that when you screw it might be a gap in between the beam and the joist.

And that makes the whole structure a lot looser and a lot weaker.

Because you're gonna you know rely on the screw instead of on the wood itself.

The tip is: step on it.

Just put your weight on the wood and then you do the whole.

In this way you make sure there is no gap in between both woods.

And I guess the last tip is about how to do the hole.

Because in our case it's better if you on the top of the bracket.

Yeah. The thing is... you know the space on the metal to put the screw is a little bit bigger than the screw itself.

Because I do...

I don't have pressure on the metal I just wanted to have the pressure on the wood.

So it's really hard to you know to screw right exactly on the center of the hole.

So if you... just make sure you don't have a gap I would always put the screw a little bit higher than the center.

in this way when I screw on place it's gonna compress the joist on the beam.

We just know that because we did the opposite.

Yeah. Then the wood went like this.

Yeah. In one of those we put the screw a little bit down and when I screwed it on place it just brought the...

You know the joist just came up and then there is a gap in between.

And then it's loose. We needed to take it off and fixed the problem. So...

Always step on it and always do the hole a little bit higher than you should and you are good to go.

And I guess those were our tips.

I hope you guys liked the wooden deck, how it's coming up.

We're just in love with it. I mean like we don't have a wooden deck yet,

But we kind of can feel the difference on the house already, like from the outside.

It's just... I don't know, it's just... It looks good already.

And hopefully next week...

Yeah.

You can say it.

No, no... you can say it.

Hopefully next week we can talk about the the roof the second roof,

that we're gonna have on the hanging...

You know, we talked about that already last week.

We don't want the water to go through the hanging of the wooden deck,

you know the 30 centimeters hanging on the side.

So, we're gonna have a small roof to bring the water to the center roof and that's the plan for this week.

We want to finish all these small roofs and hopefully the drainage of the water.

If the weather helps us. Because it's so hot to work on the top...

and then like in the end of the day just rained so much so it's pretty hard to work.

But we are you know is slowly getting there.

Yeah.

So, see you guys next week.

Dragon Ball's Latest Unforgettable Moment - Duration: 6:07.

We love the Dragon Ball franchise because of some truly iconic moments that blow us

all away.

Through these moments, Dragon Ball can evoke real emotions out of the viewers and help

us relate with the characters of the show.

These iconic moments are main the reason why despite a hiatus of over a decade, fans lost

their minds when the news broke about Dragon Ball coming back with Super.

With the latest episode of Super, episode 129, we witnessed one of these iconic moments

of the show.

This will be something Dragon Ball fans will look back at and Cherish for decades to come.

To be honest, transformations are rather common in Dragon Ball…

However, the timing, the stakes and the fact that there're only 2 episodes left in the

tournament of power are the factors that contributed to this transformation being on to remember

forever.

Ladies and Gentlemen, before we talk about this transformation and the new form, let's

take a trip down memory lane and reminisce few of the truly iconic moments of Dragon

Ball such is this one that made us all the hardcore fans that we are.

The first Iconic Moment That I Would Like To Talk About Happened In the early days,

when Goku and the Z fighters were paid a visit by Goku's own Brother Ratidz, a great memorable

battle took place.

When it was clear that even with the help of the formerly evil Piccolo, Goku wouldn't

be able to put away his brother, Goku paid the ultimate price and sacrificed himself

just to ensure the safety of his planet.

Then another great moment took place and that happened In planet namek, when frieza just

revealed his 2nd form, and when it looked like all hope is gone, a 6 year old Gohan

stood up to the plate and gave the emperor of evil a run for his money.

This amazing moment didn't only solidify gohan as a serious fighter; it also gave birth

to the millions of Gohan fans that we are today.

And guys we are not done, Later in that same arc, we witnessed another great moment as

the pain of losing all his friends becomes too much for goku and he turns into a super

saiyan for the very first time Guys we got to talk the moment that I am going

to talk about right now, this moment that I am going to talk about is perhaps the best

Vegeta moment ever.

Dragon Ball fans watched on in awe when Vegeta in a Grade 2 super saiyan powered up a massive

final flash and threw it right towards Cell's face.

However The cell Saga actually did turn Gohan into a hero.

We even thought he'd be taking the torch from Goku when he turned super saiyan 2, and

killed cell with the most badass single handed Kamehameha.

We also witnessed Vegeta truly turning into a good guy as we see another iconic moment

in the Buu saga, when Vegeta blew himself up with the final explosion, just so he could

buy a bit of time for planet earth.

And right towards the end of the Dragon Ball Super series, we finally have another Iconic

moment from Super that fans will rejoice and cherish for a long, long time.

In the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super, episode 129, Goku broke his limits and went

further beyond it than he did before with the Ultra Instinct omen as he mastered Ultra

Instinct.

With this form, there's no doubt that Goku has indeed reached his true ultimate fighting

form.

This has to be the pinnacle of strength for anyone.

We've never seen Goku in control of such unimaginable amount of powers and we may never

see a stronger version of him ever again.

The beautiful, silver aura around him, his bright glowing hair and body, and everything

else gives a royal and angelic look to Goku's new form.

There's no question that this form is astonishing and we can't expect anything other than

sheer awesomeness from Goku in this form.

But what exactly is he capable of?

I guess we'll have to wait two more weeks to actually see it for ourselves.

Guys, before we end the video please let us know what you think about this new form and

how the fight between Jiren and Goku is actually going to go.

Comment your opinions and predictions down below.

Also, please let us know which moment in the Dragon Ball Franchise is the most iconic in

your opinion.

So guys…

That's the video, Please leave a like and share it with your friend.

Subscribe to our youtube channel for more Dragon Ball Content, and don't forget to

hit the notification bell to get notified every time we upload a new video.

So that's all from me folks…

And I'll be seeing you all soon, in the next one…

Peace.

Non Spoiler Review of The Price Guide to the Occult by Leslye Walton [CC] - Duration: 12:09.

Hi everybody, it is Julie. Welcome back to Pages and Pens! Today I am here with a

book review. I know it's been a while since I've had a book review isn't it?

Today I am here to talk about The Price Guide to the Occult by Leslye Walton. For

those of you that do not know, Leslye Walton also wrote The Strange and

Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender, which is one of my favorite books that

features magical realism. This is about a girl born with wings and it follows her

through different generations of her family focusing on the women of her

family and their bad luck with love. I really really loved the writing in this.

This was I believe Leslie Waltons debut novel and she now has come out with her

second book, The Price Fuide to the Occult. This one was gifted to me- this

was sent to me by Candlewick Press. I had actually asked for this ARC and they

sent it to me very kindly, and I believe this is a finished copy. So this is a

hardback book and it is soft feel and the black parts of it are raised and

then the other parts kind of are sunken in a little bit, but still very soft feel.

Gorgeous gorgeous book aesthetically. The pages are red, it kind of fits with the

ferns on the front that have some red and blood kind of on them. So the premise

of this is Nor who lives in the Pacific Northwest on an island. A very

vibrant island setting and you definitely do get the feel for it and

Nor is the child in a long line of Blackthorn witches and each witch starting

with the matriarch. The island they live on had eight original families plus Rona

and they eventually realized that she was the witch they burned her for being

a witch- or they try to burn out her house. She escapes, each subsequent

generation has lesser powers or curses or burdens and each girl that follows

them thereafter is gifted with a different power. And there's also like a

theme although not all of them are like the original witch is seen as being like

a giantess, she's seen as being very large. And even in

this one I believe Nor's grandmother is classified as a giantess. They're also

of Greek descent. So you have a girl in this who's of Greek descent and a witch

and I am about that. You guys know that I'm part Greek and so I was really

really interested in this. Plus it's Leslie Waltons writing and I wanted to

love it so so bad. A book shows up on the island and this book is The Price Guide

to the Occult. In it there are spells that you can send away for, so you send

away for what spell you want along with your money and then that spell is done

for you. The islands plant life and animal life start acting really

strangely, these people start sprouting these fern tattoos, things kind of go bad.

And it's dark and there's a storm coming for Nor. You know something is coming

for her you don't know what it is and there's a lot of buildup. Although it's

pretty clear early on exactly what is coming for Nor. Essentially I really

really wanted this writing to be really beautiful and it wasn't. The pacing for

me was very very off. The pacing was very slow the build-up to the climax, took the

majority of the book the climax was all five pages at the end of the book and

really didn't come to fruition the way that it should have. I mean

obviously with a whole book of build-up and then five pages of the actual like

battle and climax, things were rushed and it felt really really weird and it

lacked the whimsy and the beauty of this writing and the connection to the

character that this writing had. This one you don't connect with Nor. She does have

a love interest and you really don't ever get the feel for that either. You

don't really ever start to ship it because it's so surface level. She has a

very very interesting friend, Savvy, Savannah, who changes all of her hair

color all the time. I believe she is African American. Really don't get very

invested in their friendship and unlike The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava

Lavender where you really get invested in the generational story that's being

told, the generational story and this one is a lot harder to follow and a lot

harder to connect with. You have the matriarch back in the day and then you

have her grandmother that you see and there's diversity there. There's a

lot of lesbian relationships in this book. I don't think there was any male

male relationships but, oh yes there was! So there's some diversity in

relationships in this book as well. Nor's mother, Fern is pretty much absent

from the story she's not a nice person. She was very very harmful and toxic. And

essentially each one of these witches has a certain calling or a certain power

and Nor's is being able to hear and understand plants and animals. And her

mother's is something completely different. She's very charisma and

captivating and she can basically make people do what she wants them to do.

Starting with Rona the original Blackthorn witch there is a curse, kind of on

their love life. They basically have this passionate love affair for three days

and then that's it and that's kind of all they get they get. Those three days

of love that usually results in a child hence the continuation of their

generations and then that the guy is gone. He kind of either wakes up or

realizes he never wanted to be with him in the first place.

Fern, Nor's mother does not take kindly to that. She wants this man back and she

realizes that in order to do that she needs a stronger kind of magic and she

turns to black magic, which is blood magic. And everything has its price. She's

not happy with just the power that was gifted to her through her generational

witch hereditary passing down, she wants more than that. So she starts going into

dark magic until she realizes that her blood alone is probably not strong

enough and she goes after her own daughter in order to strengthen her

magic. And that's where this kind of takes a turn for me that I can't get

behind. From the very very start of this book I'm talking like page 1 or 2 -- we

have like a preface and then literally chapter 1 the very first page of chapter

1. So we're into the current story. I already have comments that on that page.

Immediately there's references to self harm. Nor the main character of this book

has scars that cover her body and she talks about these scars as if they're

living breathing things. They signal warnings etc and the scars become

something that she wants to hide but then she also kind of secretly covets.

And some of them are not self-inflicted but the majority of them are. And this

book focuses very heavily throughout the entire book on self-harm and cutting and

the emotional release and the physical endorphin release of cutting. I don't

have any triggers when it comes to cutting. I don't have any triggers when

it comes to self-harm, but even for me this was a lot a lot to read. Because

it's not a subplot. It's not something that happened in the past that isn't

happening anymore. It's very present and it's very much a

large part of the plot. Throughout this whole battle that's coming she can't

really arm herself because most of the things that she would use to arm herself

she wants to use to hurt herself. There is a lot of bloodshed in this book and a

lot of kind of gory parts of this book and a lot of that that she witnesses

reminds her of the blood she spilled by her own hand etc. Do NOT recommend this

book for anybody who is not in the right mental state to read this. I don't know

if it would be beneficial to see yourself in a main character who

overcomes her cutting, kind of sort of maybe eventually. In the end there's a

hint that she might have, but it's not a survivor story in that sense. It's very

prevalent through the whole thing so if that's something that you can't handle

or being reminded of what it feels like to cut and why you cut and and your

obsession with cutting- this is not for you. So that was really really troubling

for me. There is a section in the back of the book in the acknowledgments where

she thanks people for sharing their stories. There are also multiple pages

that are exclusively at the end of the book for where to go for help if you

want to harm, or if you know somebody that you think is harming themselves.

There's a whole bunch of references of where you should go

if you're considering self harm. That said that's all at the back of the book.

There's no warning at the beginning of the book that this is gonna center

around self harm and there's nothing in the synopsis that says it's gonna center

around self harm. It's very clear, like I said, from page one of the beginning of

the book that there's going to be self harm in this book but I don't think

that you should have to wait that long to figure it out. I'm just gonna read you

the first page because I think it's important. So if you have triggers for

self-harm I don't want you to read this, I don't want you to have to hear this, so

I will put a timestamp in the bottom when you can start listening again.[TIMESTAMP 9:38]

Nor Blackburn wasn't afraid of blood. There were several things she was afraid of,

but blood wasn't one of them. This was fortunate because when she

picked up the shards of glass, from the cups she had dropped, she cut her finger

and it bled. It bled a lot, For a moment too long Nor looked at her finger and

watched the blood well up and trickle into the sink. It reminded her of how in

the past she had sometimes been "careless" with knives when loading the dishwasher

or chopping vegetables for dinner. It was a way to cause pain without appearing to

do so deliberately. It was a way to disguise spilled blood as accidental.

That's the first page. Pretty indicative of the way the rest of the book kind of

goes. Things like that don't stop. I think that it's really important for people to

note that if you have self-harm or cutting triggers that this is not going

to be the book for you. And then sadly unfortunately even after that, with that

being a non-issue, I just don't think it was well done. I don't think it was well

fleshed out. I didn't feel a connection to the generations, I didn't feel a

connection to the main character, it didn't have any of the life that this

book had. Really lacked in the plot development of the conflict, in the

execution of the resolution, and the final battle. It's a gorgeous book. I'm

gonna keep it, I did annotate it, I think it's gorgeous. I want it on my shelf

because it's beautiful but it's not one that I recommend.

Honestly, I ended up giving it two stars and it was just it was nowhere near as

amazing as The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender and I was really

really hoping it would be. So unfortunately, I think that it comes

without the trigger warnings that it needs at the beginning of the book and I

think it just suffers from having very under underdeveloped characters and an

underdeveloped plot. Not my favorite by Leslye Walton which really really bums

me out. I'm probably gonna be a lot more cautious about going forward

with her books if this is kind of the direction that she wants her writing to go

in. The Stranger Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender is dark and there are trigger

warnings for this book, but they're very specific solitary cases, it's

not a prevalent theme throughout the entire book, where The Price Guide

it really was. I want you guys to be warned because this does come out on

March 13th. I know a lot of people saw this in a haul of mine, they also saw it

in my TBR and they thought it was beautiful and they were interested in it

and it has a very gripping title and a very gripping premise but at the end of

the day I really don't recommend it. I wanted to put this up as soon as

possible so that you guys would know my thoughts before potentially buying it. I

just didn't want anybody to go out and buy it and be triggered by anything

because you saw it here from me and then I didn't speak about it after that again.

So I've been very vocal on Instagram and Twitter about my thoughts on this but if

you don't follow me there then you have this here now. So that has been my review

for The Price Guide to the Occult by Leslye Walton. Unfortunately, a very very

lackluster follow up to The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender for me.

But that's been this book review. I hope you guys have enjoyed it. If you did be

sure to give me a big thumbs up and click subscribe and I will see all of

you in my next video. Bye, guys.

Tony Robbins: WHAT'S YOUR WHY (Motivational Video) - Duration: 36:02.

this could be the greatest time you ever

live if you control what you focus on if

you find a more empowering meaning and

if you decide to model the actions of

those who succeeded before you it can be

the best financial time the best

emotional time that a spiritual time of

your life but you better take control of

your state and if you think you're gonna

do it just by today you're wrong you're

gonna need to get yourself some rituals

right now every one of you this room is

controlled by your rituals I don't just

mean this one I mean every morning you

get up I know your body I can look at

your body right now and I can guess your

rituals some of you your rituals to work

out five times a week I can see it

clearly four to six times a week

it's obvious because you couldn't look

like that if you didn't do that some

form of workout I don't care if it's

walking lifting whatever some of you

it's obvious it lifting weights as part

of you can see by that man's muscles I

know I know what his rituals are because

your life comes from your rituals but

you don't develop the ritual you're

kidding yourself how many degrees me on

this raising and say I and there are

rituals to put you in state their

rituals to take you out of state you go

rituals in your relationship you've

rituals with your body you have rituals

run your finances and the rituals that

worked in the reaping time of fall and

the markets and in business and in real

estate those rituals won't work now if

you do the right thing at the wrong time

you get pain I'll say that again if you

do the right you gonna tell me I'm doing

the right thing but I'm not being

rewarded if you do the right thing at

the wrong time you don't get rewarded

you get pain so you better do the right

thing at the right time and to do that

you better know what season you're in to

do that you better learn how to change

your state how to take control of your

own conditioning that's what I live for

does this make sense to you yes or no

come on guys yes or no so now it's time

to train yourself to do that I'll show

you how fast it can change try this just

for a second I want to show you what you

can do with just focus try this for a

moment I'm gonna give you a test sit up

in your chair with some energy make sure

buddy next using a strong state if will

otherwise adjust their state come on

change your physiology what are they

gonna do see if they're ticklish that

might help

cuz seek and you shall that's right

whatever you focus on you're gonna find

it in fact let me tell you something

you'll even find it

it's not there how many saw burgundy

called it red just so you can have more

things you counted raise your hand say

aye

come on see whatever you're looking for

you're gonna find so if you want to

change your life my friends you've got

to change your physiology and you got to

change your focus by the way how fast

can you change that stuff how fast my

friends how fast how fast come on and a

heartbeat once you reach Ange you're

conditioning that's all you got to do

ain't gonna fast you do it a question or

two try this right now answer this

question in your mind and be honest what

in your life today if you want it to be

could you feel proud about right now if

you wanted to feel proud if you didn't

elect I shouldn't be proud if you want

to feel proud what could you be proud of

in your life today your children your

health your body is there a problem

you've faced and instead of running from

it you finally stepped up and handled it

could you feel proud of in your life

today if you wanted to feel proud how

many could bigger something and when you

think about this thing you're proud of

what about that makes you feel proud

what do you focus on that makes you feel

proud how do you breathe when you really

start to feel proud what kind of look on

your face starts to happen when you let

yourself feel proud yeah how does it

feel

hmm

think of another area line think of any

of your life that you're grateful for or

I'm not grateful if you wanted to be

grateful what's an area you could feel

grateful for I think you feel grateful

for if you really wanted to feel great

I'm gonna think of something you can

feel grateful for here's your hands and

what about that are you grateful for

what do you focus on that makes you feel

grateful how does it feel when you're

really truly feeling filled with

gratitude here's one if you wanted to be

excited about your life right now and

you're willing to be excited you wrote a

book everybody else's trend what could

you feel excited about in your life if

you wanted to feel excited what could

you get excited about if you really

focused on it and you really took it in

and you weren't in a negative place what

could you get excited about if you

wanted to be excited in your life what

could you get excited about

[Music]

how many of you can think of something

you feel excited about right now right

um let me see your hand say I when

you're really excited about it what

about that excites you or when you're

really excited how do you feel how do

you speak what's your life like by the

way when you're excited does it tend to

touch other people yes or no absolutely

by the way do people have a tendency but

who feels different right now they're

just even a couple moments ago raise

your hand say aye

why because focus is controlled by

questions if you ask a different

question continuously that once

continuously you will get a different

answer if you ask a lousy question he

get allows the answer in a lousy state

so he said why does this always happen

to me it doesn't always happen to you

but the brains like a computer ask it a

question it'll have to come up with an

answer because you deserve it you idiot

someone will say how come I can never

lose weight you can't lose weight but if

you keep saying how come I can't ever

lose weight the brains gotta come answer

goes you're a pig lousy questions create

what lousy answers ask a better question

get a better answer now here's what I

want you to get I want you to get that

you can change your state how fast guys

how fast how fast and if you get the

habit of doing it you have a different

life

you know any Success Program that I've

ever had the good fortune to go through

whether it be a good book a good set of

tapes a good seminar almost every single

one talks about the power of

goal-setting why because it's a

fundamental key to all lifelong success

plans you could possibly imagine the

challenge of course is we hear it so

often we tend to take it just a little

bit for granted don't we I mean get

yourself in a point where you've heard

it so often you going please don't talk

about goal-setting you know I know all

about it yes I should make sure my goals

are stated in the positive yes I should

write them down yeah I know all that

stuff come on

but you know what you got to be careful

not to get caught in that trap called

the law of familiarity you know where

you get so used to it you begin to take

it just a little bit for granted

cuz fundamentals have to be practiced

daily Hey

think about the greatest coaches that

you can think of and sports history

names that come up for me are names like

Vince Lombardi for example or John

Wooden what were they known most for

teaching fundamentals to people that

were already the best at what they do I

mean think about it John Wooden would

take a basketball player a kid who is

the best in the world at what he does

virtually at least for his age group and

he can make a shot from virtually

anywhere and ego that's really cute kid

get over here and I want you to shoot

four hundred free throws and gets this I

can do that is it yeah well let's see

you do it or come up here and I want to

see you shoot five hundred bank shots

from five feet well I can do that the

kid would say he goes yeah I know you

can do it you're gonna do it every day

this many times so that you do it in the

key clutch moments you got a practice

fundamentals every day he went 11

consecutive national championships

unlike any team in history that's the

power of fundamentals so anytime I do a

workshop any time I try and do tapes

usually I put a goal-setting workshop in

there and some of them have some

similarity say if you've done one with

me before he has a chance to do it again

and do it even more effectively and

variably when I hear people say

something like I'll teach me something

new I know they aren't into mastery

because repetition again is the mother

of skill you've heard me say that over

and over again it's because if you want

a man

to anything you've got to do it over and

over and over again and every time I do

a goal-setting workshop myself I

obviously make new distinctions I set up

some new goals they change so don't take

it for granted and say well these two

tapes are on goals and they're short and

they're simple and I can do that some

other time I already know my goals don't

get caught in that hook the bottom line

is do the exercise as if you're setting

goals brand-new and fresh and for most

people they don't have a clearly defined

set of goals anyway again you know I'm

now taking Taekwondo and I have the good

fortune of training with the Grand

Master of Taekwondo in the United States

his name is Grand Master jewelry an

interesting thing about jewelry as a

master as he taught me something he

taught me to go from the frame of

mastering simple things over and over

again everything he teaches to become a

black belt breaks them as seven simple

moves

isn't that interesting now what's

interesting is he says that most people

never make it to black belt because they

keep coming and say show me something

new he said no no no you have to master

the fundamentals and if you do those you

do them over and over again you'll be a

black belt easily and consistently so

don't get caught in those traps break

through the bonds of your past and look

at the world in a whole new way where

you understand fundamentals must be

practiced daily and you'll do whatever

it takes you're not bored by

fundamentals you get excited about doing

the daily things to create the ongoing

level of happiness enjoy you want for a

lifetime now let's take a quick look

what is the power of goals why don't we

talk about them so much why don't we

want you to use them why are they

important answer with goals we create

the future in advance we create our

destiny we shape our lives hey we all

have goals whether we know it or not the

problem is some people have really lousy

goals and whatever your goals are

they're affecting you maybe your goals

are to get through this day maybe the

goals are how to pay the lousy bills

the problem with goals like that is they

don't exactly inspire you and get you to

jump out of bed early in the morning

saying I can't wait to go out today and

pay my lousy bills rarely does that

really create a motion and drive inside

of you

goals can create the power to make us

grow and expand and develop our success

but we've got to have something out

there that's compelling enough to draw

us forth

done

properly and specifically they transform

our lives one of my best and favorite

examples is a study that was done in

1953 at Yale University what they did

there was an intensive study where they

interviewed the graduating class just

before they left school and they asked

him a whole series of questions but the

one that was most interesting for me was

they asked them how many of you have a

clear specific set of goals with a

written plan for their achievement well

interestingly enough as you might guess

less than 3% had a set of written goals

with a plan 20 years later in 1973 they

went back and interviewed the surviving

class members of the class of 53 and

they interviewed these people to find

out what were their lives like well the

interesting thing was the 3% that had

written goals that specifically had a

plan for their attainment appear to be

happier more well-adjusted more excited

about their life as a whole but see

those things are subjective the one

thing that's very measurable is this the

group of people who had written goals

were worth more in financial terms than

the entire other 97% that didn't have

goals combined think about that that's

the power of goal-setting I can tell you

in my own life it has transformed me

that you can know all the techniques of

how to condition yourself to succeed but

if you don't know why you're doing it

and you don't know what it is you're

moving towards then it's rare that

you're gonna get the most out of

yourself

years ago I had the unique good fortune

as I began to study some of these

technologies for optimum performance I

was invited to go to Russia and I spent

over there approximately two weeks

during that time I got a chance to

explore many aspects of Russia I got to

go to the universities I got to chance

to meet with some of the people who were

involved in optimum performance

technologies and in the process of doing

that I found myself on one stretch where

I was on the trans-siberian railway

where I was going literally from Moscow

all the way to Siberia and then back to

Leningrad again we're talking about a

large stretch of land and a lot of time

to just think during that time I was

just starting to develop some of my

personal power I really hadn't created

my life the way

I wanted it but I felt like there was

some possibilities out there for me I

was still living in my 400 square foot

bachelor apartment I was still

overweight I was still in a position

where I really didn't have my life where

I wanted it in terms of my relationships

but on that trip for two and a half days

all I did was set goals and then for

another two or three days all I did was

design plans and how I was gonna achieve

them and I set goals that were well

beyond my present ability or skill I had

no idea how I was gonna make them happen

and that's important but I operated from

a principle that's talked about and

every religion known to man so

regardless of what you believe

religiously or spiritually it's a common

law and that is the power of absolute

total belief and faith I operated from

the frame that if I could get inspired

enough if I found a goal that I was

exciting enough for me I would figure

out how to make it happen even though it

right now it might seem impossible I

would pull it off and I laid out goals

for my life in virtually every area

personally emotionally socially

spiritually physically financially and I

chunk down what do I want my life

ultimately and what do I want right now

and a lot of areas I thought well I can

make it happen I figured I can get

control of my emotions and so I set

goals about how I wanted to be how I

wanted to communicate how much joy I

want to have how much passion how I want

to live every single day the kind of

person I wanted to be as a human being I

described my relationships I described

the woman of my dreams in detail I took

six pages to describe exactly the kind

of person mentally emotionally socially

and spiritually I wanted my life and

physically described your in detail in

addition and describe to how I wanted my

kids to be I described everything now

you might say well gosh you know you're

really creating a lot of limitations I

set goals and I look at them and then I

review them and see if they still make

sense to me but I did it in detail I

also did it in the area of finances and

I said some pretty absurd goals I

decided I want to make a quarter of a

million dollars a year in personal

income at the time I was making less

than $3,000 a month 3,000 was a good

month guess what happened I came back I

laid out this plan in fact I did the

plan on the

of a map that I bought in Russia have it

to this day

where I broke down the whole thing I

show it often times to people my

seminars so they get an idea where I was

and what I actually created just by

designing the roadmaps necessary for

success I came back and began to

implement it a lot of my plans I have to

tell you did not work out but I achieved

over 80% of my goals in less than 12

months I mean massive change I went well

beyond anything I dreamed of I changed

myself physically I lost all the way I

changed myself emotionally and develop

the confidence that was necessary I

changed myself into my relationships

massively I attracted the one my dreams

I married her about a year after that I

had decided I wanted to have four kids I

got three instantly what a deal I was on

a roll I took myself from totally broke

financially to over a million dollar net

worth in less than 12 months you talk

about massive change my life changed in

every level I mean I can tell you how

much my confidence changed but you know

you might go a big deal

but it did my level of confidence my

level of faith my ability to create

rapport changed radically I mean I also

said Fingal's besides my personal

development goals because I had felt

confident that I could probably

accomplish some of the development

within myself but I felt like I can

control that I can't control the outside

world or my economics or have the

ability to get things that was my

hang-up at the time I set goals for

things like I was gonna have a limousine

a stretch limousine I mean how absurd

I had a car that was breaking down

continuously at a stretch limousine

within six months I mean I'm talking

about massive massive change I mean you

can't imagine the kind of miracles that

happen I know this sounds fluffy and

bizarre but it really works

I remember what first time I went to

Fiji it was my favorite place in the

world

I thought you know I've been everywhere

I've been a most major countries in the

world this is the most beautiful amazing

land I've ever been to you know I gotta

own a piece of property on this specific

Island you know I never would've fought

in a million years the two years later

after setting that goal

I don't island you don't that I own a

resort and amali

it's one of the top three resorts in

Fiji now I go there four times a year

with 20 of my best friends and we all

have a blast and we set our goals there

we look at our lives and balance and

have fun

it's amazing but there's just if you try

to tell me that two years earlier I

would have said you are absolutely

insane you're nuts there's just no way I

mean you know get real I'm here to tell

you don't get real get intelligent

because what's real to you today is

based on your past based on your past

experiences and if you limit your future

based on your past and I can go anywhere

you got to get the goals that are big

enough to drive you to excite you so

don't stop and go how do I do it that's

not the first step the first step is get

it down and if you do that you can

create your island your paradise whether

it be something emotional inside of you

you want to create like a character

change or or a behavior or habit or

whether that's a business you want to

start or when that's some kind of money

you want to earn or something you want

to do for your children and I'm telling

you it can happen the magic that you've

heard about and dreamed about is real

and it starts with a simplistic process

of taking these generalized impulses of

desire and starting to define them with

more precision this is the power of

goal-setting and we don't understand

totally how it works there's something

beyond just what we understand if

writing something down something happens

you become a creator when you write down

goals and you get clear as to absolutely

while you make them happen and by the

way that's the key that we're gonna

touch on here in detail we've got to

make sure that you not only set goals

but you get absolutely clear why you

want them because there's a fundamental

key to goal-setting that changed my life

and that is this purpose is stronger

than outcome what do I mean well I think

that the purpose of goals is not so you

get things the purpose of any goal the

real reason to set goals is what they

will make of you as a person Hey look at

the end of your life all the things that

you accumulate are not gonna make you

happy at the end of your life all you're

gonna have is who you've become as a

person the moment you've created in your

life that you'll never forget so some

people in life they go out and set goals

and they do it blindly they say these

are things I want to have in my life and

they focus let's say on things and

there's nothing wrong with focusing on

things I don't have as many things as

you want that's part of life too that's

part of the manifestation process of

creating results but if all you do is

focus on getting things

it may cost you some people in their

desire to get things have given up their

own integrity of who they want to be of

what they want to create in their life

you got to be careful of that you got to

make sure when you set a goal you know

why you're doing it

hey you might work real hard for example

to do something on a thing oriented

let's say you want to make a million

dollars but see a million dollars only

motivates you so much

becoming the kind of person who is able

to manifest total abundance financially

and physically for themselves and the

people around them that's rather

exciting having the freedom that you

think the money will give you or having

the ability to give or having the

ability to do things that you think that

money will give you are having more time

that'll motivate you a lot more than

just the money does that make sense

the problem with setting goals is one

most people take them for granted they

don't do it seriously and they don't do

it consistently they do it once a year

and they do it at new years they run

another new year syndrome they set a

goal and they don't even look at it to

all year later they go loops I kind of

screwed up and they set a new one so

they have no power

secondly they don't realize the power of

goals they take it lightly you know they

go well you know yeah I got these goals

but they don't make sure that they get

it inside their head where it's

absolutely real for them they don't

realize that when they set a goal

they're now creating something in life

and finally the biggest challenge I

think is that these people don't know

why they're going for their goals so the

object the goal itself yeah they get

enthusiastic for a while and then it

dies out again why is different for

everyone but you got to find out their

reasons I believe this reasons come

first answers come second if you get a

big enough reasons to do something to

accomplish something you can figure out

how to do it but if all you do is set up

a goal and say oh my gosh how am I gonna

about it you're not gonna be inspired

enough it's not going to be compelling

enough for you to really create

long-term results every great success I

know has figure out the why behind their

goals and that's their power so in our

process on the next tape tomorrow when

we do the goal-setting workshop itself

we're gonna spend a good deal of time

focusing on why do we want these goals

after we've identified them and secondly

how we're gonna go about making it

happen but that's secondly we're gonna

start from the frame that

can achieve anything as soon as we think

of it somebody wants to point it out to

me a long time ago the desire in its

latin form means of the father desire I

thought that's interesting in other

words anything that I desire that

thought process has been given to me and

with the ability to have a goal I

believe instantly comes the ability to

achieve it that ability is built within

us or we wouldn't have the desire in the

first place so come from that place and

watch what you can do to create our new

reality of success in your life now I've

got a question for you do you know why

goals really work well there are lots of

theories but I'll tell you what a few of

mine are number one I believe that

thoughts are things that whenever we

focus on consistently we experience in

our life you and I know that's true from

what we've talked about earlier in this

tape that if I pay attention to one area

in my life and I focus on it that's

what's gonna be real for me that's what

I'm gonna feel I also believe that

whatever we focus on consistently that

our thoughts are things that as you

think so you create so you manifest so

part of goal-setting is just by having

that focus and again having a consistent

focus you can't just set goals one time

and then ever look at them again and

really expect long-term results although

hey that's better than not having any

target at all least your subconscious

mind knows the general direction to move

in but the power is doing it

consistently reviewing them but point

number one is I really believe that if

you focus on something you'll experience

it secondly when you set a goal there's

an interesting dynamic that happens and

that is when you set a goal basically

you're acknowledging to both your

conscious and subconscious minds that

where you are right now is not where you

want to be which is you begin to notice

the distinctions between where you want

to be and where you are and as you feel

that distinction your brain becomes

dissatisfied and part of what motivates

human action is a sense of

dissatisfaction

I mean hey when you're totally

comfortable and relaxed feeling pleasure

you're not super motivated to do

whatever it takes to make things happen

generally as a generalization however

when we get dissatisfied that's we got

some real power in fact I tell most

people in life one of the biggest traps

that most people fall into is called

success for a lot of people's successes

trap because what happens is when they

get successful oftentimes

they tend the party when they fail they

tend to ponder and are that pondering

sometimes that make some new

distinctions dissatisfaction is a power

that you want to take advantage of not

something for you to try and hide

yourself out from there is real power

and finding some things you want to move

away from because look pressure is what

creates human behavior pressure and

tension are primary drivers of our

actions I mean think about it on a

ridiculously simple level what makes you

want to eat is it not a certain level

pressure or attention what is it that

makes you want to eliminate during the

day pressure or tension your body it

makes you want to get up and take that

action what makes you want to make love

and be with somebody there's a certain

amount of pressure that creates that

feeling learning to manage pressure and

tension in your life is probably one of

the basic fundamental lessons we all

must master if we really want to have a

balanced life where we really feel happy

and successful but learning to use

pressure and goal-setting is absolutely

critical with literally no pressure to

go for it

we have no motivation and so a certain

amount of pressure is generated when you

clearly define what do you want and you

see that you aren't there it creates a

gestalt where your brain says hey I want

that I'm not satisfied where I am and

you begin to have that drive don't hide

out from it well commit look at it every

single day pressure isn't necessarily

negative it can be very positive again

if you look at it as a tool for

influencing yourself to take consistent

action towards your success you all know

the metaphor don't you I mean pressure

is how diamonds are created they're just

rocks that got under intense pressure

and now that turned into a gym you need

to use that same metaphor for yourself

and use goals as a way of pressuring

yourself cuz I know a lot of people when

they think about goal-setting I said

well you know I don't like commit to

somebody else about this thing because

then I'll feel all this pressure that's

great that is fabulous that means you're

not gonna back out

I mean hey when I decided a year ago I

was gonna work out every single day I

was gonna exercise I realized the best

way to make sure I kept that commitment

was number one understand why

doing it not just salmon exercise to

exercise and I realize in order to

accomplish the level of goals that I

have in my life I need abundance of

physical energy vibrancy so I have

something to communicate with so I have

something that can drive me without that

I've ended up running out of emotional

gas while I'm continually driving up

this mountain called success so I didn't

want to float down running out of fuel

and I decided I'm gonna keep that up

every day and being physically violent

requires a certain level of exercise so

I understood why and I linked it to

having better relationships I linked it

to having more energy for my kids I

linked it to how it feel emotionally I

linked it to my level of physical

vibrancy I linked it to my business

success I linked it to my ability to

contribute to others but I had a lot of

motivation going on there but in

addition what I also did is I use

pressure and I went around and on

several of my programs specifically on

one I do for business people especially

called the powered influence one for

sales people on that program I made it

really clear that the only way to

succeed was demand more from yourself

and other people would expect and that I

had decided and would absolutely

exercise every day of this year I might

reevaluate in the future but I'd do it

this year and I've kept it and I'm

telling you do you do so I have to

commit even more I don't have a way to

turn back do you follow me use pressure

to your advantage use committing to

certain people to your advantage people

that will not let you off the hook

that's part of the why sometimes you

don't feel like doing anymore the only

why is hey coz I don't want to not keep

my word that's okay whatever it takes to

get you to follow through and create

results so this tape today is designed

for primarily only one purpose and that

is to get you clear on the power of

goal-setting what it can do to change

you and the critical element to success

and goals and that is creating a strong

enough Y and enough pressure to follow

through one of the ways we can create is

strong enough why by the way is not just

to write down the positive laws in other

words gosh I want this goal because

it'll give me this and this in my life

or I'll be able to contribute this and

that but in addition I've learned to

create some of the quote unquote

negative why's something I never would

have done years ago I'd say god that's

being a negative person but what I mean

specifically is when I set goals now

I not only write down why I'm absolutely

committed to making that goal in reality

but I also now write down why am I gonna

get this and I do it from the frame of

if I don't achieve this what would it

cost me and I get a list of why's of

prices I'd have to pay not to have the

goal could see what we want to do to get

ourselves to succeed is linked pleasure

to getting the goal and paying to not

getting the goal that way our brain will

be driven to use all of our resources to

make it happen does that make sense to

you

so I know for some of you may sound

negative to say well what would it cost

me if it didn't happen but I think if

you understand how the human brain works

we want to use the carrot and the stick

hey we're in charge we can do this with

anything with ourselves and if we don't

like her goals we can change them at any

time part of the power of goal-setting

is flexibility not just getting stuck

because a years ago you set a goal

reevaluating a saying based on where I

am and now my life is that's still the

right goal for me is that the right

direction I encourage people to set

goals no less than twice a year and I

have them review their goals in detail

at least once a month and review their

top goals daily it is that kind of

consistent review that will keep you on

track and produce those results that

you're committed to so right now the

purpose again today is to get you clear

and how to unleash this power and part

of that power is the power of why why do

you want things on the positive and the

power of being dissatisfied so here's

your exercise for today and then

tomorrow we're gonna actually unleash

you into a goal-setting workshop and you

might want to review and listen this

tape again so you're inspired when you

go to do that exercise because I want

you to really come to life and know

you're about to create real results when

you start that workshop today they'll

pull out your success journal and here's

your assignment what I'd like you to do

is I want you to write down two things

number one what are some of the areas of

your life you are dissatisfied with now

I don't want you to feel bad real

negative about it but just be honest

with yourself what are some of the areas

of your life that are not enough it's

not good enough it's not where you

deserve it to be it's not where you're

committed having it be take a look at

yourself physically emotionally

spiritually intellectually financially

in your relationships so the question I

want you to ask yourself is what's not

good in my life

what am I not satisfied with and get

inspired as you write it down because

whatever you write down you're gonna be

able to change and that's number one and

make a good list of things you're

dissatisfied with that'll create some

pressure inside of you to create some

powerful new goals and number two write

down what kind of beliefs what I have to

have what are a couple of additional

beliefs since we've talked about that

earlier what are two or three other

beliefs then I would probably need to

have in order to really set goals and

achieve them what are two or three new

beliefs I need to live by in order to

really start achieving my goals

that's your simple assignment for today

just leave today with a focus on getting

big enough why's the power of why is the

power to achieve your dreams I'll see

you tomorrow remember live with passion

[Music]

at it and what absolutely exercise every

day of this year I might reevaluate in

the future but I do it this year and

I've kept it and I'm telling it do you

do so I have to commit even more I don't

have a way to turn back do you follow me

use pressure to your advantage use

wig stand and travel kit - Duration: 3:55.

I'm here to show you my wig traveling kit traveling with a wig shouldn't be a

faff to be honest as long as you a bit prepared and you've got things on hand

one of the things that can be a pain and I've had in the past is you don't really

want especially now in travel people tend to go with hand luggage then you

don't really want to be taking boxes with wigs in because it's going to take

up all your space so what I'll show you is my travel bag

to start with so this is how it comes along with a hanger at the top should

you or should you not want to use it you can use it to sort of hang your pieces

up in the wardrobe when you've arrived totally up to you so this is how I do so

you take your where now see you love this this is my favorite favorite nice

we're reaching top gorgeous and so take the piece inside out

okay take the hanger we could do is you just rock it back and then that will

release it

clip week in nice and secure okay so it's hanging on sometimes an

official holiday and so back up security

safe and secure an owner and you can obviously felt this over it's gonna sit

nice and flat give me hand luggage

insecure what the travel kit also comes with these mini bottles of shampoo and

conditioner and obviously everybody knows you can take these bottles in hand

luggage say these are some nice many packs of shampoo conditioner take they

come a lovely box prevent any accidents and the other

thing is these completely they come down my flat-pack this is a collapsible wick

stamp again you can't take it fall from in dummy head with you abroad must be a

bit embarrassing when it goes through the UM scanning so you're just put it

together like this what's brilliant about these I tend to use these as

drawing stands anyway because completely breathable the air flows through with a

lot of the so you have like a traditional solid head which obviously

looks more attractive but the hair I mean anyone who's watched a week knows

it takes a long time for them to dry so if you leave it nice and open like this

light and airy they're gonna dry a lot quicker which is what we really need on

holiday anyway so that's the kit to stand the shampoo and the travel bag

READING | feb wrap up + march tbr [CC] - Duration: 9:54.

Hey guys! What's up? It's Lainey and today I am

doing my reading wrap-up for the month of February.

Also included in this video will be my currently reading as well as my TBR for March.

February I had a fantastic reading month. I think it's because

the majority of the books that I read I actually listened to on Audible.

My goal for the month was to read 3 books and I read 9.

Which is, a lot. There's still a couple more days left in February

and I know I'm going to be finishing my current audiobook that I am currently listening to. So let's get started.

Like I said in my last reading video

I started the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

In this month I listened to the next two books

in the series. I read Onyx and I read Opal.

I rated them both 3/5 stars.

They are getting better. I really like how the third book Opal kind of expanded a lot more.

Really cool storyline, I really like it.

Since I'm currently watching the Vampire Diaries as well

I think they both kind of go hand-in-hand. They're both

really good, like, teen soapy dramas.

Like I can totally see the Lux series being a television show.

Like it's totally up that CW alley.

Another book I read this month was Immortal Reign by Morgan Rhodes.

This is the final book in the Falling Kingdoms series.

I already uploaded my twenty minute long book talk that I will

link up above here so you guys can

check that out if you've read the series and you want to hear my book talk on it.

I rated it a 5/5. I mean I loved it.

It was a very satisfying ending to the series.

The other YA book that I completed this month was The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas.

I know, I'm like, so late to this party.

Decided to listen to it on Audible.

I totally. 100% recommend listening to the audiobook. It's an A+++ performance.

It's the best audiobook I've listen to so far. If you don't know what

The Hate U Give is about. It's about a young teenager

named Starr who is in the car with her best friend Kalil, from her childhood.

And they get pulled over by the cops. She is the witness

to the police officer shooting him.

And he is an unarmed black man. So its,

obviously inspired by Black Lives Matter. I was totally blown away

by this book. If I would have read it, I would have rated it a 4/5.

But, just the narration alone I had to give it a 5/5 stars because it was just a total experience to listen to it.

And I loved it. And now I am excited for the movie and like,

I get the hype. I understand and I am really excited.

So then the rest of the books I read this month were all romance books.

So the first romance book I read this month was Beat by Vi Keeland.

Heard a lot about her. I see her a lot on reviews and lists and stuff.

Ended up starting with Beat which I guess is like the

companion series to the first book which is I think, Throb.

So I just downloaded Beat and I started listening to it.

I think it was fine just listening to it by itself. The story is about

Lucky and technically Flynn, who is the dude. She is the voice coach at the record label.

She is actually dating a rock star named Dylan. She has to go on tour with them. The opening act for

the rockstar is going to be Flynn's band.

It's like a love triangle, but also like, not really.

Like I was kind of disappointed in the aspect of the love triangle.

The author really made it obvious that Dylan,

who is the boyfriend is like, a trash character. But I think it would to much more interesting

if she developed his character just a little bit more.

He's very two dimensional. I really liked the set-up of this book

more than I liked the delivery of it. I think I rated it a 3/5. I still really liked it.

If I was recommending it... I probably wouldn't.

It was the Olympics. Gonna want to read, you know, read a hockey romance.

Rookie Move, which is the first book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series by Sarina Bowen.

I have seen Sarina Bowen's name like, everywhere.

I know she co-writes with Elle Kennedy, which is one of my favorite romance authors.

So I thought this would be a good chance to start in with a Sarina Bowen book

So this book is about Georgia and Leo and Georgia is

the temporary PR director of the Brooklyn Bruisers.

Her father just happens to become the coach for this team.

And her ex-boyfriend, Leo, is traded right before her father

becomes coach. Her father hates Leo.

Leo and Georgia used to have a relationship and now they don't anymore because she broke up with him after they graduated

high school. Now they're out of college and they're kind of

all involved together now in this team. And Iiked it.

I rated it like a 3. I don't know if I'm going to be continuing the series. I think I would be

interested in the second one because I know the second one follows the

captain and I really liked the captain in

the first book when we're introduced to him. But we'll see.

Because the Olympics are over so now I'm like, don't really care about sports.

The next book I read was a movie star romance.

And this was called To Love Jason Thorn by Ella Maise.

Rated this one a 2/5. Tells a story of Jason Thorn and Olive Taylor.

Olive is an indie author whose book is like skyrocketing. So this movie studio is like,

"Hey. We want to like, make your book into a movie." They already have

attached a movie star to it and it is Jason Thorn.

Who actually is her older brother's best friend from their childhood. There also was fake dating

involved in this book as well. What I didn't like about this book was

actually the dialogue. It was just really... really really corny. I just kept giggling as I

was listening to it because I am like, "People don't talk to each other that way."

It wasn't as good as I thought I was going to be.

The last two books that I read I started to like, binge.

Third book in the series I am probably going to be finishing it within

the next couple of days. The Reaper's MC series

by Joanna Wylde. It is about a motorcycle club.

I used to love Sons of Anarchy. That was like, one of my favorite shows.

I just love the motorcycle club culture.

This whole series was free to listen to

through the romance package on Audible.

I was like, "Ok! I'm gonna read these." I read Reaper's Property

and Reaper's Legacy. This involves a motorcycle club

this is in like, the northwest of the United States. The first one follows Horse and Marie.

I know. I was like, "Why's his name Horse?" That's really weird.

But it's ok.

Once you start reading it you're like, ok, I can get on board with this name.

Marie, whose brother is in trouble with the MC.

So she kind of like, trades herself to Horse because they kind of had a past relationship

up until her brother's stealing. Second book follows

another guy from the MC, Ruger and Sophie. Sophie's a single mother and

Ruger's stepbrother Zach is the father of her kid

but he's like, a deadbeat. So he kind of like, wants to take care of them.

The third one, which I'm currently reading follows a Romeo and Juliet romance and I'm really on board with that.

But, I do believe that you need to read all three

books in order. Even though they could be read as standalones. I think

because the overall plot of the motorcycle club, which I think is really done well, is bigger

than the couples. You need to like, read it in order to understand what's

going on with the motorcycle club and their rivals

and their business. I think I'll read the entire series.

What I like most about this series is the word. Totally

reminds me the most of Sons of Anarchy.

It has like, you know, the clubhouses and the old ladies and everything.

I rated all of them 3s. I mean, they're really good.

They're the best motorcycle books that I've read. Because I've read a couple

adult romance motorcycle club. This one's my favorite

just because it like, feels very accurate. Not that I would know

you know, because I'm not going to the clubhouse on the weekend.

Next we're going onto the books that I am currently reading.

The first book is Devil's Game which is the third book in the Reaper's MC series.

Over halfway through.

This one features more of a Romeo and Juliet storyline

between a rival gang, the Devil's Jacks and Em, who is the president's daughter of the Reapers MC.

Lot of things going there that I really like

However, this is not a good book to be read as a standalone. If you read it as a standalone it's not

very well developed because you need to see Em

in the first two books and the first

half of this third book takes place in the second book,

but not through their perspectives. It's really confusing.

If you don't already know what kind of relationship they have

from the second book going into the third book it just feels very

undeveloped. Everything's rushed. But it's rushed

because we already know what happens from the second book.

So that's just, my thoughts on it.

And then the second book that I am currently reading is An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir.

I'm about a hundred pages into this book.

I've been reading it really slow because it's so good.

I wish I would have finished this in February because it was on my February TBR.

I really really like it and I dig it, but it's just like, a book that I don't want to rush. If that makes sense?

Those are the only two books that I am currently reading. I do have two books Im going to show you

that I plan to read here in March.

I also plan to read The Tombs by Deborah Shaumberg.

This book just came out at the end of February I was sent

and ARC copy for review. I was immediately drawn to it

because the comp titles are The Gangs of New York meets magic and I

love Gangs of New York, I love that time period. Sharp Hollows

is actually based off of the Industrial Revolution

of the eastern United States.

So excited to read this. And when I do I will be posting a non-spoiler book review on my channel here.

Last book that I wanted to mention that I plan on reading is The Valiant

by Lesley Livingston. This is a historical book.

The second book already came out. It's called The Defiant.

The covers look amazing. This follows a Celtic princess who gets

captured and is sent to Rome to fight as a female gladiator.

I'll also be doing a non-spoiler book review as well.

That is it for my read video of the month.

Have you guys? I would really like to know.

And thank you guys for watching. I hope you guys have a really great day.

And I will see you guys very soon!

Bye!
