Well hello everyone and welcome back to my channel,

or if you are new, hello welcome to my channel, my name is Sophie.

Now I don't know if you know this or not, but only 30-40% of the English language is

actually readable on your lips.

Why are you telling me this I hear you say?

Not all but for many deaf and hard of hearing people,

we rely on reading your lips to understand what on earth you are saying to us.

Lip reading requires a LOT of energy and concentration and to be honest,

half the time we are catching the odd word you are saying and making up the rest.

So many words look exactly the same and yet (most) hearing people say to us all the time,

'Can't you just lip read?'

So now I challenge you to just "lip read" the following sentences and comment below

what it was you think I said.

I'll start easy, I'm not that mean….

Or am I?

Okay, you ready?

Let's go.

Sound going down.

And no, I am not expressing my love for you.

Does your brain hurt yet?

Okay we'll stop there.

I just wanted you to experience what it is like to not be able to hear and have to try

and lip read.

Please remember that not ALL hard of hearing and deaf people can lip read.

Also, everyone's mouth moves differently for the exact same word.

Which makes it….

pretty darn hard.

En Turquía se habla el idioma de los pájaros | Türkiye'de konuşulan kuş dili - Duration: 4:22.

It's just whistling for us, but it's more than that for the Turks who live in Kuşköy.

They speak the bird language to be able to communicate from valley to valley.

Kuşköy is village located on the Black Sea coast. It is the home of farmers who cultivate tea, corn and beet.

It doesn't seem a special village so far.

But the residents in Kuşköy are different than anyone else.

They learn to communicate in distance in a very unusual way. It is a knowledge that passes down through generations.

They use whistles, just as if they could speak the bird language.

They are not sure of its origin, but they all agree it is a very useful thing.

(Most of the houses are far in distance)

Ok, we all agree that whistling is a basic way to communicate.

Different messages can be transmitted - depending on the context and the tone.

Those messages are - more or less - universal.

For example, a call, a warning or even a flirting technique.

I could never do it.

However, whistling is something more complex in this village.

They are able to whistle the Turkish language.

They transform the spoken syllabes into whistles with different tones.

So anything that can be said in Turkish, it can also be said in the bird language.

Theoretically, at least.

Practically, bird language is used to exchange daily-life sentences.

For example: "I need your help for the harvest"

Son don't imagine they have long whistling conversations! Mostly because they have to be careful with anything they say.

Better not to talk about private things...Everybody can listen!

This is one of the most shocking facts about bird language:

It can be listened 1,5 km far away, with good conditions and proffesional whistlers.

The people from Kuşköy are fighting to preserve this language. That's why they have created the Bird Language Asociation.

Although it is still used by 1000 people, it is starting to be lost.

What is the reason? Mobile phones.

They do have signal in the mountains.

I try to help a little and spread the knowledge of this language.

I really wish it is never lost.

In fact, I've read that there are more whistling languages in the world.

The one I know is the "Silbo Gomero" in the Canary Islands, Spain.

This bird language is the same than in Turkey. They transform the Spanish syllabes into whistles.

Silbo Gomero is used by 22.000 people (more or less) nowadays. More than in Turkey.

The reason is: It is taught in local schools. This is the only way to preserver it and avoid its disappearance.

I think it is so important and necessary.

Running Water and Power?? RECENTLY ABANDONED BLIND ASYLUM - Urbex Lost Places Austria - Duration: 18:18.

In August we spent a week in Vienna.

And together with two local urban explorers

we traveled to the raddest abandoned sites in Austria.

In the middle of the modern civilization

we discovered gloomy and lonely factories

and haunting hospitals with running electricity.

Over the next few weeks we will release six episodes in total

about our adventures in the concrete jungle.

F#ck. My. Life.

YES!

"Shoot!"

This was literally our immediate thought when we arrived at the first destination of our road trip in Austria.

It seemed like some construction workers were in attendance at that day.

To abort the mission was not an option.

Our way to get to this place was far too long to simply relinquish now.

So instead of entering from the front

we approached from behind through the woods.

This former home for blind people is a huge building complex

and as it seems the workers were only active in the front area.

But this presented us with a problem.

Local urban explorers told us that there is an easy access point.

It just was in the area where the people were working.

So we couldn't get in there.

We had to look for an alternative entrance point.

And just as we wanted to give up looking

we found a way in.

But we had to rope down a skylight.

I won't be able to get up here again, holy crap!

I can't...

At first we surveyed the basement.

This building is a former old-age residence

for visually handicapped and blind people

that was abandoned around two and a half years ago.

Because of this rather short period of time there's only little vandalism on the site.

An interesting design which is repeated throughout the whole building in different variations

attracted our attention.

Handrails,

lamps and more

are in an unusual pipe-like look.

Pay attention to that when you're watching the episode.

What did you find?

It's an airplane with a propeller on the back.

Nice!

The closer we got to the main entrance

the more cautious we became

for fear that we bump into a worker.

There's a beeping noise!

And there's a thrum too.

Our goal was to move around as carefully as possible

and maintain a low profile.

We couldn't believe our eyes when we found ourselves in an area

with an open door? Seriously?

And we probably took the most laborious way into the building ever!

We were doubtful.

Why was the door open in the first place?

Are the workers going in and out here?

And what irritated us even more:

The toilets were signposted.

Is this the place where the workers answer the call of nature?

We only knew one thing:

We couldn't stay here much longer.

This looks so sick!

The symmetry is just beautiful.

There's a theater out there but there is also a car.

"welfare centre"

So instead of going further to the main entrance

we decided to turn around and explore the back parts of the building.

It was too risky up front.

I guess works of the inhabitants were displayed here.

There are a lot of these sockets. I saw braided baskets and LEGO figures on these too.

There was even extra lighting for that.

At an outdoor temperature of around 40 degrees Celsius

the exploration was tough inside these massive glass boxes

which are the connecting pieces of the different building parts.

In here the temperature was heating a lot.

In the back parts of the building, there were the living quarters of this retirement home.

The rooms were specifically designed for the needs of visually handicapped and blind people.

In the whole structure you can find ramps instead of stairs for example.

There is a continuous handrail both in the building and in the garden as well.

The furnishings are rounded off

and without any sharp edges.

The rooms are designed rich in contrast.

"From water came existence, thank god who gave it to us."

The old-age residence is in the middle of a very small village

and is surrounded only by nature.

Next to permanent users and long-stay residents

people could also rent rooms for vacations or short-term stays.

With tendance and support when necessary.

The occupants could even bring their own pets.

The living area was divided into several houses.

Each one with its own icon.

Sometime she tells strange things. - And every day the same.

But she's always happy when she sees someone.

We have to show you this before we end our tour.

We won't try it now because we don't want the alarm to go off.

In the end the electricity might still working here after all.

In the area we have explored the power was already switched off.

Yet, there still was running water.

In the comments people will write: They did this at home.

Located on the top floor we discovered a housing

which distinguished itself visually very much from the other ones.

Maybe the head of the institution lived here.

Around the year 2015,

the building which is over 60 years old

was abandoned due to cost concerns.

The costly refurbishment measures were simply too expensive.

Despite protests, the retirement home was shut down.

But the fact that there are workers here right now

shows that the site might have a future.

After all, it already found a new use some time ago.

In this year the property served as the training ground for the State police K9 units.

From time to time, drills and exercises for the police dogs take place here.

Due to some recent cases of vandalism

the canine handlers are supposed to conduct regular inspection patrols.

Well, luckily for us there was no such police dog training that day.

This looks like some kind of animals

tried to climb up. Probably raccoons.

Take a look at those paws. Could be a cat or a dog too. But what should they do up here?

I mean it's a roof! Wtf.

The other pins are in there too.

But they were pulled up.

Wanna play? - Of course!

That shouldn't be that loud.

Unfortunately, we couldn't explore everything on that day because of the construction workers.

For example, there is this theatre with working electricity.

And this swimming area too.

The footage was taken by the two local urban explorers who told us about this site in the first place.

They have been here some months ago

and they were able to move freely and explore everything.

and but I mean it's so touching you can't help but to like it but the point

of the video was yes Shania Twain song is being featured in this trailer this

special trailer and you get I think what is pretty much most of that song in the

trailer so if you guys haven't seen it check it out the link is in the

Livy is everyone's favorite pop star, but Livy wasn't born into fame.

In fact, she grew up like so many other girls.

I can totally relate.

Livy had other talents besides singing.

She had a way with animals and she excelled in school.

Livy spent lots of time volunteering at the animal shelter.

One day it was love at first sight

when a scruffy, scared little puppy arrived, covered in mud.

She scrubbed and scrubbed the puppy, but its dark spots wouldn't come off.

Then she finally realized it was a Dalmatian.

[laughs]

The two were instant best friends,

so Olivia adopted the pup and named him, Cookie.

Cookie, so cute.

Livy discovered that one of Cookie's spots was shaped like a musical note.

I once found a potato chip shaped like the Eiffel Tower,

but Andrea ate it.

Shhh, you weren't supposed to tell anyone.

Then she entered a talent show without telling anybody.

Livy wasn't sure she'd impress the judges at all,

but from the moment the world heard her voice,

fame was hers.

And my day's coming too.

One day.

How about one day you just stop hoarding the carrot sticks.

[laughs] Ok.

I think of myself as normal, really.

Sometimes a girl just wants to curl up with a good book.

She could totally be one of us, you guys.

These days, most of my time is spent doing interviews,

recording new songs.

It leaves hardly any time for writing my own songs

and spending time with my family.

[sigh] I never thought about that side of fame.

It's hard being so talented that everyone wants something from you.

I can totally relate.

One Month of Weight Loss - Progress | Road to 99 kg vlog - Duration: 7:21.

Hi there! It has been one month since I started this weight loss program.

Working out, dieting, running and I have some interesting results to show you!

Let's check them out!

ahotiK's Road to 99 Kg Episode 8 - One month results

I'm gonna share with you my thoughts and the results after this month but first

let's check out the progress of last week.

My weight progress for last week has

been going well I have been going down to 113 kilos. I was close to 112 but not

quite there yet, so overall I have to lose another 12 to 13 kilos to reach my goal.

Now let's check out some videos from last week

Hi! It's Monday and it's a new...

Hi! It's Monday and today I'm prepared to

run the 7.5 kilometres run again. The one that RunKeeper

only tracked 6.5 kilometres of in the other episode.

I want to mix Spotify and Zombies, Run.

because while there's no story in Zombies, Run you could use your

player of choice to play music. So I'm gonna use Spotify and I'm also gonna use

the running feature, the one that matches the music with your pace.

Let's go for this run and see how it goes!

I'm back and I'm done, was pretty hard.

Fortunately this time everything recorded well on the RunKeeper but the final result was

a bit too slow for my expectations.

Combining Spotify with Zombies, Run

didn't work as expected because I thought Zombies, Run would pause Spotify

while telling me the story, but it didn't, it just lowered the volume.

So sometimes it was really hard to make out what they were talking about and

the music was in the background so I didn't really like that.

I discovered that if you want Zombies, Run

to pause the music then you'll have to have the music on your

phone and play it with Zombies Run app internal player.

I got one or two good sprints because of the zombie chases I ran really fast

but I don't think it's worth it because you always try to conserve your energy

for that zombie chase so instead of just running at a higher pace most of the

time you try to conserve the energy to have enough energy for big sprint

for when the zombies are chasing so I didn't like that and I think I'm gonna just

stick to Spotify for a while and see if my pace improves.

I hope you enjoy this kind of new type of vlogging

there are two reasons for doing this. One I told you about before,

running with the camera will distract me and I will take longer pauses than needed.

The second reason is that it's getting dark earlier now.

I have to admit in the beginning I was loving the vlog more, so that's why I was

like oh I have to run and I'm gonna record some more I'm gonna you know do

some more vlogging but now I love running and that's why I'm trying to not

disturb running with vlogging and still do vlogging because I still love it

so I'm gonna do vlogging while inside and do running separately

It's Wednesday I'm gonna go play some football

We're done with football, heading back home.

Pretty pretty tired!

It's hard!

Running seems easy now!

Time for a Sunday run.

Here we go!

So, this was last week now we can dig into the results of this whole month as

you might know I started at 122 Kg and that's when I started my vlog,

running, dieting, later on I also started going to the gym and playing football.

As you can see in the first weeks I've lost a lot of kilos really fast

I went from 122 to around 117 in a bit over one week.

After that I have started to plateau and it has been going in waves.

Of course I haven't been dieting

and working out at maximum all the time if you have been watching this vlog

you already know that I have a cheat meal once in a while sometimes I feel tired

and cannot get up to go running or workout, but overall I think the progress

is looking really good and now I feel like I'm really gonna be able to do this

I'm gonna be able to reach 99 kilos by the end of October.

How am I feeling?

Well, first of all I am 10 kg lighter so I feel great regarding that.

I feel much more confident and apart from the weight loss,

starting this, it took me around one hour to run / walk four, five kilometres or less.

Now I can run for seven or eight kilometers in the same amount of time.

For those of you that say that 80% of weight loss it's only dieting well that's probably true

but working out and running has helped me understand how hard it is to get

those extra calories off so now every time I am thinking about having

something unhealthy I'm gonna think about how hard it is to run that extra

kilometer or how hard it is to go for that extra run next week.

This is how I motivate myself to keep the diet.

So these are my results and my thoughts after this first month.

But please, do not suggest anything like "play with AS VAL" or "play with VSS Vintorez". These guns are essentially just another assault rifle AEGs.

Suggest something unusual please. And talking about comments - all "number-men" will be banned starting from this video. Stop commenting bullshit.

Three sides take part in this scenario. Our side wears yellow armbands. Our goal is interfere both teams while they are trying to take their flags and bring them to the extraction point.
