Waching daily Sep 15 2017

Hello Guys! Are you planning your interchange to England and you haven't decided yet:

London, Cambridge, Totnes? There are so many options.

In this video, I and the English teachers of the school are going to show you

all the pros and cons of staying in the country coast and also in London.

.

Last year I traveled to England to get a certification of the Cambridge University

for English teachers, named CELTA

The first thing you have to think about before deciding

the destination of your interchange is what your objective is.

For me, it was an intensive course.

studied from 8am to 6pm. Because of that, I chose to stay in a coastal city

because I was in a student's residence beachfront and I had peace to study because it was a very tiring course.

I taught classes every other day and I had a lot of subjects to study.

So the first thing you have to consider is what your objective with the interchange is.

If you are going to have a very hard routine and you need to stay in a calmer place or if

you really want to stay in a very agitated place like London.

As I went during the fall I feel like I don't have enough experience

to talk about how the coast of England is, but, I

have a teacher who I met during the course and he is going to show you how the coast is on the summer.

Hi guys, it's Jim! I'm one of the native English teachers at the school,

and today I want to tell you about where I live in England.

The first town I will tell you about is Teignmouth.

Notice that there's a big difference between the way the name is spelled and the way the locals pronounce it!

Teignmouth is a small fishing town and industrial port. In the past,

most people made their living here from the sea, and many people still do today.

There is another small village on the other side of the river.

A fun and traditional way to get across the river is to catch a ride on this small passenger ferry.

Teignmouth is also on the main train line to London, so it's easy to get to using public transport.

There are many great places to eat in Teignmouth.

As well as some nice restaurants, there are lots of places to buy tasty snacks.

The local speciality is seafood, and it's always fresh and delicious.

English people love to spend time in the pub, and Teignmouth has some nice places to go for a drink!

There are lots of things to see and do in Teignmouth.

You can go to the beach, visit the pier, or use the skatepark on the seafront.

Everything's a lot more fun when the sun is shining.

You can play football, tennis and table-tennis in the park, and there's even a crazy golf course

You can swim in the sea here, but be warned: it's a lot colder than Brazil!

I hope you enjoyed this tour of Teignmouth. I will share videos about other places near me in the future!

As I opted to stay in Torbay on the coast of the country, because I went to take a teaching course,

I was careful and interviewed a person that went there to learn English,

because I know that most of the people watching this video are looking for this kind of course,

which is the interchange to improve or to learn English.

So now you are going to watch a student briefly explaining

why he opted to stay in Torbay and not in London or in another city.

England has its charm, and when I looked for a city I saw Newcastle, London and Torquay.

Pros

For me, when I chose Paignton, you start thinking of the two sides of the coin.

It's a city in the countryside, but it doesn't have Brazilians

You study all day long and have nothing to do at night,

so you have more time to study and less contact with your mother tongue.

At the house I stay in which is the Hunter's Lodge, for me it's perfect because

I have contact with people from all over the world.

The school is awesome for me because I still have an amazing immersion with the English.

Cons

The disadvantages for me here are that here you don't have anything to do.

Everything closes at 1 o'clock. It's a small town so you know everyone, everybody greets you every day.

Why didn't you choose London?

About not going to London, I believe that because it's a big city, there are more people,

you have more contact with your mother tongue and you have less contact with natives,

English natives, so I believe you have many more distractions in your routine.

Price

And about price? What's the difference?

About prices, I started searching about Paignton and it was around R$4.700 and London was R$8.000,

it's almost twice as much, but you have much more contact with your mother tongue.

Then, it's relative to a month?

Yes, relative to a month of class, it was R$4.700 plus the airfare and also what you

spend with food, transportation and tours.

Leisure

There are many tours to Cardiff and other cities near here, malls, pubs. It's an awesome experience for you.

About the train, the price is not that high to go to London, if you plan it previously.

After I concluded the course and got the certification I went to London and I spent some time there.

I tried to interview a student, someone that went there to learn or improve the English,

but it was a short time that I stayed there and I really couldn't

So I myself am going to tell you what I saw of the differences in London,

the advantages that I saw in London and I didn't see in Torbay and the opposite.

Contact with the language

In Torbay I had contact with the English people, much more than in London, because

london is like São Paulo, there are people from all over the world, which is also not negative,

so you always have to think in what your objective is.

For example, if you…

Imagine that you want to learn English now, and one year

from now you want to attend college there or take a course in your area,

then it's better to practice with British English, to have contact with people that are originally from there,

to practice your listening, to have more contact with the natives from England.

Now imagine that you work at a multinational company and you talk to people from all around the world,

because let's always remember that the English

is a worldwide language and you aren't going to speak English only with Americans or British,

you will speak English with people from all over the world.

Then imagine that your objective is to practice

the English with different accents so London is a more suitable place for you.

Accommodation

To stay in London is much more expensive than staying on the coast.

It's a big difference that you are going to pay in the price of your interchange,

so for example when I was in London I paid almost twice as much.

Hey guys! I will show you a little of the flat where I lived here in London.

The bad part is that I don't have a bathroom only for myself like in the other city

but the good side is that I have everything here on the street.

Like I cross the street and there is a very nice pub to go, next to it there's a Burger King,

and on the other side there's a Subway so it's very nice.

This is the living room, it's a little messy here, it's empty, and everybody went out.

Today's my last day, I was packing but on Saturday no one stays here, they all go out to the city.

At this time I'm in a bedroom for two people but I'm alone.

I paid to be alone. It's a little messy, I´m packing and recording the video in a little hurry.

I will show a bit of the kitchen.

6 people live here, counting me.

The good part is that we don't need to pay to wash our clothes,

we can use the machine without paying anything.

This is the kitchen, and we also don't need to clean the bedroom,

a person comes to clean it, the bedroom and nowhere else, a person comes to clean once a week.

We have a small balcony here and in the other side of the living room there's a small balcony

and the bathroom we have to share with other 6 people, that's the worst part.

In Torbay I stayed in a room with sea view, I had a private bathroom only for me and

there was also a bathtub, so I would say that referring to accommodation you can stay in a

better place paying less if you choose to be on the coast.

I hope that this video was useful for you.

I would like to emphasize that I stayed in Twickenham when I was in London

and I stayed on the coast city in Torbay.

So maybe you can go somewhere in London and have a different experience

than I had and the same on the coast.

If you stay in another city on the coast and it's very different than I said.

I think that this is a very nice dialogue, so if you already traveled to England,

already had an interchange, comment here how your experience was, if it was like mine or different,

referring to safety, cost of living, referring to any of these topics that we talked about in this video.

If you are interested in having classes with us, schedule a demonstration class at our school,

and I will see you on the next video.

Don't forget to like and share (laughs)

Jazz Jackrabbit's Poker Broker & Commander Keen's Trek 96 - Duration: 8:13.

Y'all ready for some nonsense?

Check this out.

This is Commander Keen's Trek 96, developed by I have no clue, published by I don't

know, and released for an unknown operating system.

Depending on where you look on the box, CYBERDIGITAL released this in 1997.

Or maybe it was CYBEREX (Cyber.Ex) because that's on there too, encapsulated

in a weird globe logo.

"FOR PC," it states in a yellow starburst, not giving any indication as to whether that

means DOS, or Windows, or even what kind of media is inside.

And no, there's no system requirements on the box or anywhere on the packaging.

Turns out is IS for Windows, it just doesn't tell you.

This is one of the single strangest boxed titles in my collection, second only to Jazz

Jackrabbit's Poker Broker, which is credited to the same mysterious company, Cyberdigital.

Obviously, each of these releases were intending to capitalize on the popularity of shareware

classics Commander Keen and Jazz Jackrabbit by id Software and Epic Megagames respectively.

But the thing is, other than the packaging, there's absolutely nothing tying these to

their respective "inspirations" whatsoever.

"If you like Captain Kirk, you will love Commander Keen."

Uh-huh, if you say so.

"Be quick like a Jackrabbit with your cuts and as smooth as Jazz with you bets."

Wow, that's a stretch but hey: gold star for effort.

These games are just a clear case of copyright infringement across multiple companies and

I have no idea how these were even sold in the first place.

Heck, were they even sold in stores at all?

I bought both of these sealed on Ebay sealed years ago, and neither one of them had a price sticker,

a UPC barcode, or any indication of being sold at retail.

For all I know these were handed out by a guy named Fred behind a

backroad truck stop in Albuquerque.

Opening each box doesn't reveal much more, with Commander Keen's Trek 96 only giving

you a cardboard sleeve and a plastic bag surrounding a cheaply-labeled CD with the same art as

the cheaply-printed box.

Jazz Jackrabbit's Poker Broker on the other hand, hahaha. This CD...

Jazz Jack Rabit.

This is perfect.

The misspelling of their own blatant ripoff title pairs beautifully against that trademark-less

Windows logo.

And again, more confusion as to who actually made this.

There's the Cyber.Ex logo again, but no mention of Cyberdigital this time.

Instead it says Digital Design Development, California, USA.

Can't say I've been able to find anything concrete on any of these company names, mostly

it's just a bunch of confused people asking the same questions I am online.

But anyway let's try these out! And my first order of business with obscure games like this is

to make an archive of the disc, but even that wasn't normal in this case.

My blu-ray burner absolutely refused to recognize either disc, instead making repetitive and

slightly concerning noises...

*slightly concerning noises, grinding sounds*

But I was able to use an old Compaq CD-ROM on my Windows 98 capture PC to successfully

make a disc image, although it finished suspiciously rapidly.

Sure enough, once I looked at the files in Explorer, it turns out that each CD only holds

a maximum of 1.3 megabytes.

Seriously.

You could fit each game on its own 3.5" high-density floppy disk and still have room

to spare.

And you've gotta love those truncated 8.3 file names, that's a real sign of quality

right there.

So yeah, I had to try Jazz Jackrabbit's Poker Broker first, and well.

It's pretty darn simplistic, and there's absolutely no mention of Jazz Jackrabbit anywhere.

Or even Jazz Jack Rabit, for that matter.

Nope, this is simply the shareware version of Poker Broker 3.0, developed in 1995.

Fun fact: one of the developers -- and I'll probably butcher this -- Thu Nguyen

is apparently quite the popular name among poker players.

Maybe it's just a popular name in general, but

there are an intriguing number of people by that name on ranked poker player websites,

so I guess it's only appropriate one would've made a PC game about poker back in the day.

Anyway, Poker Broker 3.0 is just the most bog-standard draw poker game for Windows you

can imagine.

Place a bet and you're dealt five cards.

Choose which cards to hold and which to replace, then you either win or lose that hand depending

on the luck of the draw.

Sometime you'll be given a bonus card out of nowhere, which is just "exhilarating."

But there's no end goal, no high score table, no other players, nothing really more to the

game other than a couple options like peeking at cards and choosing where to cut the deck.

And just think, this was version 3.0 of Poker Broker, I can hardly fathom how little the

first two versions provided.

I at least hoped for a hastily-cloned Jazz Jackrabbit as the dealer or something, but

nah, this one screen is all you get.

Well, you also get this screen, but I think that's a bug and not a feature.

Commander Keen's Trek 96 isn't much better to be honest, but let's dive into it anyway.

*shoddy Star Trek theme WAV plays*

Before playing I had to increase the resolution since it's one of those games that haphazardly

piles awkward windows onto the screen.

And yeah, this one is once again devoid of any mention of its namesake -- instead of

Commander Keen we simply get Trek 96, a German game by Oliver Lenzko and Jochen Burkhardt

calling themselves J&O Software.

Heh, yeah this is not the episode for me to pronounce names correctly.

Anyway, it's a top-down space action/strategy game that mimics the popular

Star Trek games of the time period.

These actually date all the way back to 1971, originally programmed on mainframe computers,

and subsequently becoming programming fodder for anyone just learning how to

code their own games in BASIC or what have you.

One of the more popular variants at the time this one was made was WinTrek from 1992,

which used a similar selection of windows and GUI elements to update the classic mainframe game.

But Trek 96?

...hehe.

Other than the use of a few WAV files ripped from Next Generation, there's absolutely

nothing noteworthy here.

*klaxon and phaser WAV files ripped from Star Trek Next Generation play*

You use the arrow keys to move around space, activate a few basic starship systems with

the mouse, and hold down keys like shift and control to activate phasers using the most

cumbersome aiming reticle in gaming history.

It sucks.

The game over message though, well that is amazing.

"Congratulations!

You have destroyed the Enterprise!"

Haha, what?

Congratulations?!

Is the goal to destroy the Enterprise? I mean, is that sarcastic? I dunno man.

Can't say I cared to figure out either, because it always crashes after anywhere from

2 to 5 minutes, seemingly at random.

And that's Commander Keen's Trek 96 and Jazz Jackrabbit's Poker Broker.

Neither one of them are worth playing, ever, but at the same time they're infinitely

fascinating to me.

How this kind of thing ended up getting any kind of boxed distribution is mind-boggling

to me, largely because of when it came out.

This was 1997, and the idea that some no-name company from California could pop up and seemingly

get away with blatant IP infringement is ludicrous to me.

And sure, maybe id and Epic didn't care since Commander Keen and Jazz Jackrabbit were

kind of old news by '97, but what about Trek 96?

This was a game clearly billing itself as a Star Trek game and using Star Trek assets

and trademarks unofficially, and CBS is infamous for coming down hard on any

project that even mention Star Trek.

Maybe they did send a cease and desist to them, or maybe they didn't,

I can't find anything saying either way.

All I know is that these two games are phenomenally bizarre and I hope that your day now an enjoyably

weirder place to be after having seen them in action.

And if you enjoyed this video on these things then perhaps you would like to see some of my other videos.

There are new ones are every Monday and Friday here on LGR!

On similar topics and beyond.

And as always, thank you very much for watching.

MSI GL62M 7REX Review 15.6" Budget i7-7700HQ Nvidia 1050 TI Gaming Laptop - Duration: 20:18.

This is the MSI GL62M REX it is a budget notebook now I picked this one up

here from China for 899 USD considering the spec I feel it's a

really good price so it has a core i7 KB like 7700 HQ now that's a quad-core CPU

the GPU on board here is an Nvidia 1050 Ti with 4 gigabytes of double data rate

5 RAM now the stock base configuration that you get straight out of the box is

8 gigabytes of RAM so only one sodam is used there's another spare one in there

in this review here I've upgraded my unit and I'll show you in just a second

and we have a 1 terabyte hard drive so gaining access to the internals isn't

that difficult but you do have a lot of screws here that you need to remove all

around the outside and then just pry off the lid and that gives you access to

everything so for my review i've added an additional 8 gigabytes of ram you can

see slotted in here and my own SSD so this slot here will support m vm e or

PCIe x for running a 960 Evo in here and the one terabyte drive would be located

right here the spindle drive which has 7200 rpm but I have removed that because

I wasn't happy with the noise it was making so upgradability is quite good we

can replace the RAM replace the hard drive add an SSD set of three or nvme

and we can replace the wireless card here if you're not happy with the one

I've included so the cooling solution that they have on here 6 copper transfer

heat pipes and a very large you can see thick copper base here that's connecting

to straight on to the GPU die here the CPU is right here looks like it's going

to be really good and efficient but as I found out later in my testing process

that really these two fans here or at least the CPU fan is just a little too

small and it's not just blowing out a sufficient amount of air at least when

you leave it on the default cooling mode without using that cooler booster for

will run into thermal throttling but more on that later on in the video so

you see that the battery cell here 41 watt-hours isn't particularly large

for a laptop that's 15.6 inches but battery life hasn't really ever been a

priority when it comes to gaming laptops and nothing has changed here now if

there is one thing that is missing on here it is a subwoofer we great if it

had a 2.1 system because these four speakers that we do have downwards

firing as you hit from my sample later on they sound particularly flat and they

could really be aided by the fact of having a sub located about here the GL

62 my is 2.3 keido's and the weight distribution isn't too bad

slightly heavier at the rear here but overall it doesn't enhance feel as if

it's 2.3 but perhaps a little bit lighter now the build is completely

plastic but it is a quality plastic they have used and it has like a matte kind

of coating to it so it's quite grippy it's not slippery but it does have on

the lid you can see here quite a bit of flex I don't believe this is going to be

an issue however but the materials used here on this budget laptop and the same

kind of quality you get on the more premium options so on the left of the

left top we have microphone and headphone outs type-c port now

unfortunately it's not funderbolt and it's only USB 3 spec a USB 3 port mini

display out HDMI out another USB 3 port Ethernet that's one gigabit as well so

nice and fast and then a Kensington lock slot there then on the right DC end for

charging of course with 150 watt power supply we have an SD card slot which is

great to see and it's one of those clickin style ones so you shouldn't be

breaking these cards off by accident with those ones that sometimes stick out

like that which personally I really hate those ones however this port is only

wired up via a USB 2 hub so it is slow you cannot take advantage of high speed

cards and then lastly a USB 2 port on the rear the two exhaust fans for the

CPU and GPU which I feel it is a bit of a design error that these vents should

be a little bit bigger so the fans and sigh could also be larger so it has a

steelseries keyboard now if I press down really hard here you will see there's a

bit of flex and the design there but under normal

typing pressure using this it doesn't bother me at all and in fact I find

typing on this keyboard is really good it's a nice keyboard I do like it it

comes with the us layout even though this is a Chinese version that's think

they aren't they use they're in China now the touchpad is a synaptics one and

it's the same exact material as the rest of the palm rest now palm rest if I

press down here you see a bit of flex but again when using this it's not

really a problem I'm only just pushing quite hard here just to show you the

design how rigid it is it's not exactly super rigid like the premium models like

the go series that are actually slimmer too they seem to be a lot more rigid and

don't suffer from so much flex there we've got two individual large clicky

style mouse buttons and overall the touchpad to me feels alright however I

have had to increased the speed of it increase the speed and a sensitivity to

get really the most out of it it's certainly not the best touchpad I have

used and also one thing to note that the material this plastic is a complete

smudge magnet already the touch pads thing to get a little bit shiny I can

see marks from my fingers and things so you'll be wiping this down all the time

to try and keep it looking clean and new I've only had it now for about seven or

eight days I've been using it the whole time and already it's lost that kind of

new look to it and already looks used which is a shame so up the top here we

have the power button where the status LED there and we have this G now this is

for the gaming center so dragon gaming center will bring up all your options

and stuff there and this button which works via the BIOS as the cooler booster

this then puts both of the fans to maximum rpm to try and push out as much

air as possible one thing to point out too that I don't think a lot of reviews

are mentioning is that if you do get this particular model even though it is

cheaper one other con is that the bias is going to be all in Chinese and as far

as I can tell you can't change it I've flashed a new BIOS update and it was

still remained in Chinese I've pulled the battery that's on the motherboard

I've unplugged the battery yet again still defaults and is always in Chinese

so as you can see here that the IPS panel that's in here no

it's not a TN it's only the earlier models that had crappy TN panels in here

is quite decent you can see the blacks are dark here and my unit I think of

lucked out here with the IPS lottery don't seem to have any screen bleed

whatsoever so the panel does have an anti-glare coating on here so it's not

susceptible to reflections I've got my powerful studio lights on and they are

not reflecting on the upper right hand side there which they probably would do

if this was a glossy panel so the maximum brightness comes out to 247 Lux

which is not bad for an anti glare panel and overall I really do like the screen

but bear in mind though that this is a 60 Hertz panel it does not go up to 120

Hertz like other msi recent laptops that they have released now looking at the

device manager here just wanted to point out what we have for the wireless

chipset so its intel's dual band wireless AC 30 168 here so it's not one

of the fastest ones there intel does have that 8200 series which do offer

better performance now I did a quick benchmark here now the speeds should be

a little bit higher than this but at the time I was actually I think was

uploading something else but I have seen this get up to almost my full fiber

optic line speed here which is 300 megabits per second both upload and

download symmetric and also notice that the range of the wireless perfectly fine

I think it's because the whole housing on this laptop is plastic it's not

inhibited the signal of course if it was a metal build to it so perfectly fine

there with that now if we have a look at the SSD I have installed my own one here

so it came with a one terabyte 7200 rpm Drive that is rather slow but it's

actually for the type of driver it is it's not really that bad because it gets

around 100 to the 30 reads and writes megabits per second but with my drive

here of course that is running and PCIe times 4 and I've just finished up

benchmarking it here so very good performance out of that that is blazing

fast I really do love those Drive so no

bottlenecks at all when it comes to storage here now that slot is a PCI x 4

slot but also set a 3 so if you do happen to have a 22 by 80 set of three

SSD you could put that in there but of course your speeds will cap out around

550 megabytes per second reason writes they're sequential if you have seen my

unboxing one thing to note here that is gonna be able to van issue for some

people is that this particular model is the Chinese version so it did ship with

Windows 10 in Chinese however what I did is I created a Windows 10 media USB

pendrive flash drive and then I installed the Windows 10 but make sure

you install the Windows 10 home version in English you can let add your own

language packs later on and it did activate using the existing key that's

incorporated part of the bias so activation was not an issue you do not

have to buy a new license for this which is one positive now I have a look at a

couple of benchmarks here so this is the heaven benchmark number for average

frames per second of 81 and the score is 2044 I thought that actually wasn't too

bad considering it's a 1050 T I quite pleased with that score now you will

notice that my clocks here it is overclocked so for most of these schools

here I will be overclocking the GPU here and the reason why I feel that a lot of

people will probably be doing this to squeeze the absolute maximum out of this

chipset I'll show you those overclocks here just with MSI Afterburner I just

kill that here in mint my benchmark off there in the background so there we've

got the clocks that I've applied so 110 to the core clock and then one gigabyte

to the RAM so though looks like they're under clock the RAM to start with anyway

it could probably go even higher than that

now I've experienced absolutely no issues with this overclock so no

artifacts no driver crashing issues nothing like that I could even probably

push the core clock even higher but I'm gonna leave it at that I feel which is

fine and you see here that the drive that I'm using is the 385 point 4 1

which at the time of this review is the latest driver here so Cinebench r15 84

frames per second by OpenGL and in the CPU got 724 now if you do keep the stock

configuration which is only the 8 gigabytes of RAM and

single channel then this score will be something in the upper six hundreds so a

little bit slower there because I've got dual bandwidth and more RAM is this

going to help a little bit there to speed things up so it also ran Geekbench

for here decent score it's now faster again because I'm running dual channel

RAM as the stock configuration only has that one slot in there allowing you to

put an extra additional eight gigabytes in here is the OpenCL score which is

using the GPU again that is with the overclock when it's stock it's around

eighty thousand so this overclock here is basically

giving us a boost of around ten to eleven percent on the GPU which is

really good considering that as a a free boost they're not as high as some GPUs

but overall not too bad at all so the stocks cool here of fire strike and you

can see now with the overclock we get 10% more or less there so not bad now

just a touch on the battery life here right now I have forced the GPU to be

the Nvidia one the 1050 Ti and that is just through the control panel here and

you can set that you can also force it to just the Intel now why I've done this

is just to demonstrate the kind of battery life you can expect so you get

around one hour in 30 minutes if you're not gaming on the dedicated GPU but if

you do something more demanding like gaming or you're doing some 3d editing

or video editing or something like that then you're only gonna get around one

hour of battery life from the 40 watt 41 watt hour battery there now if you turn

over or leave it on auto select over to the integrated graphics then you're

looking around double the time then it consumes a lot less power around three

hours which is not ideal this is not a laptop designed really as a gaming

laptop it's not really designed for battery life for me the better life is

really what I expect for a gaming laptop so nothing amazing at all in fact it's

very poor as expected really so how is gaming performance well it can play all

the latest games 1080p it's not a problem you do not have to lower the

resolution to something like 70 TP but I have noticed that it will

thermal throttle so if you don't use the cooler booster which is currently on at

the moment you'll be fine with the cooler booster on I just find that the

cooling at the moment isn't really doing an adequate job if you don't use that

extra loud fan cooler booster which increases the RPMs on both of the GPU

and CPU fan and really cool things right down so games like this yep perfectly

playable

so you can see that this is what happens when you don't use the caller booster

mode that the temperatures will get up there quite hot and it will run into

thermal throttling which was triggered right here you can see with that peak

this isn't our extreme tuning utility so it's telling me there that yes it did to

my throttle and that was right when the framerate literally hard it went from

about 50 frames per second down to 26 30 which is not good to see but if you do

use the caller booster then thermal throttling will not take place and you

will not see this now editing 4k video here which was really the main reason

why I bought this particular laptop here with the 16 gigabytes of RAM in here now

the timeline is very fast I mean this is pretty much just real-time so no

problems with that no slowdown or lag like trying to do this on a core m3 so

I'll be using just like I did with the me notebook f13 the youtube 4k preset is

what's going to be and exactly well more or less one-minute their export it now

we'll see how long it takes however if you have a look at this we did run into

some thermal throttling again just like when I was gaming on it it didn't affect

the CPU speeds much though in fact it looks like they hardly dropped really

only about a hundred or even less than that megahertz but it did get up to 96

degrees you can see right there which is just far too hot I feel so really the

cooling solution on this isn't that great I don't think it's doing a very

good job here if it's getting up to 96 degrees so there are the 4 downwards

firing speakers and unfortunately no sup so these speakers they sound flat they

do lack bass but they certainly do not lack in volume so let's have a listen to

them

now the laptop does come with the MSI's dragons seem to like all of their gaming

laptops and what it allows you to do is just get a quick overview here of the

RPMs on the fans your power mode your GPU call clocks and things like that

temperatures are also listed in here and the system tune you're able just to

tweak a few things so USB boost helps increase the speed there of your USB

external drives and flash drives storage boosters as well and you can control the

different modes here with the turbo now this turbo who is actually overclocking

only the GPU because the CPU that's in here is not overclockable

lockable it's not a k-series one so it's not the HK and we also have the control

of the fans you can customize the fan speeds to your own liking here in the

advanced setting to control that and then also music you can control through

there the no hemic music settings and then the RGB so you've got different

modes there for anti blue to remove the blue light movie office standard things

like that okay so after a week of using this where do I stand I'm kind of a

little bit mixed here because I do like the build of it I love typing on this

keyboard it's actually a lot better than I thought it was gonna be budget gaming

laptop you have to remember that that this is really at the bottom end not

quite the bottom bottom but hey I paid 899 us for this which I feel is a really

decent price considering I've got the the core i5 kb lake 7700 in here and

then a 1050 Ti with not 2 gigabytes of RAM but the 4 gigabytes there so the

screen is really good overall the build the touch pad here I end up using a

mouse most of the time I find it's just sometimes just not quite as responsive

as I would like and the material I really wish it was made out of glass or

something but then again they've got a tone down on the materials they've used

here so it's all plastic you're going to build there's no premium materials at

all so there is basically some cons that start out whether as soon as you get

this as soon as you turn it on its Windows 10 Chinese you can fix that the

license will pull through not a problem the drivers are all on MSI's website the

biases in Chinese but not too much of an issue really because it's locked down

anyway so you can't tweak advanced settings

like power limits or something like that the biggest con for me I feel as a

design flaw here is the fans the cooling fan on the CPU is just not large enough

it should be a larger size to push out a higher volume of air to keep it from

thermal throttling so we should never see thermal throttling on a gaming

laptop it doesn't matter if this is a 899 that I paid for it or a $2,000

laptop it should not have thermal throttling efforts designed properly

because it's got six copper cooling pipes in there that is that's awesome it

looks good it looks the part doesn't it but because of that smaller fan it's

just not pushing pushing out the air that it should be resulting in higher

temperatures reaching 96 degrees Celsius encoding 4k video now if they improve

the calling on this i would say straight away yeah this is an absolute steal go

out there and buy it now it could be my unit I don't believe it is because I've

had a look now at the thermal pad while the pace the pad that's on there and

things look normal to me I don't see any problem with it's not like they left a

layer of plastic under there or something no it's all perfect to me so

really I feel it's those vans and really MSI needs to get onto this improve the

design and then this will be a really good gaming budget laptop here that can

handle everything with that i7 700 that's in there so I do have to catch

you back with more up-and-coming reviews on laptops maybe not gaming ones but

more the budget orientated but I will be planning and I hope to review the Xiaomi

aameen notebook pro soon once that is finally released so I hope to catch you

back then thank you so much for watching this rather long review here and I do

hope to see you back in the channel soon

T-Shirt Upcycle | DIY Macrame Dress - Duration: 5:55.

Hi everyone, I am so excited to share my t-shirt upcycle with you and walk you through how to make it too!

This was a challenge for me, inspired by an amazing youtuber named April who posted a similar video on her channel.

Please definitely check out her channel "coolirpa"

when you get the chance, she is such an inspiration for the entire community here on YouTube!

You can find a link to her video and a list of all of the supplies down in the description!

Before we start, this is what the T-shirts looked like before. I spent a total of 4 dollars

for these and I wanted larger size tshirts for two reasons. One, for more fabric to use

in my creation and two, the length is good for a dress, but I am only 5 feet tall, so

if you're taller than that, you'll need to add on a panel to make it longer.

So my idea for the design is focused on the back side of the dress as shown in this clip

of the sketch in progress from my last video. I am thinking a very simple but cool macrame

design for the back of a halter style dress. The dress shape itself, I want it to be very

simple and almost basic so that you can wear it comfortably and to a variety of events.

First, I put the shirt on my dress form and

pin in all the areas I may want tighter. The waist, the arm hole, and the side seams to

make it more form fitting and less like a bag.

Next, I cut off the sleeves at the seams, and then thought it would be cute to keep

it similar to a tunic dress but since these shirts are Adult XL, the arm holes are huge

and I can't leave them the way they are. So, I scratched that idea and stuck to the

original plan of a halter with a low back. I took out the pins and then marked the shape

of the neckline, the armhole, and then the back neckline with chalk. Then I made sure

to leave some room to finish off the seams.

So, I changed my design again, I originally wanted this to be a halter top, but after

working with it, I want it to be a little more classy, so I am keeping the back slightly

more covered aside from the deep V.

I then took the shirt off the dress from and then separated the front and back panels.

To be honest, I actually thought that I didn't need to separate the panels, but it'll be

easier to create a better fitting dress like this. Using an existing sleeveless top I liked,

I traced the front and back armholes using my chalk again. This way, it should fit me

pretty well.

Moving on, I added .5 inch seam allowance so that I can finish off the edges later, fold

the panels in half lengthwise and then cut out the armholes and create a smooth line

along the side seams for a nice transition. It doesn't need to be perfect here, just

smooth and subtle. This way it helps the dress fit slightly closer to the body.

Next, I want to take the other t-shirt and cut off about 3.5 inches from the bottom.

Cut the panels into 2 and this will be my bottom panel for the dress.

After I tried the dress on, it was a little shorter than I wanted it to be

so I am adding these panels so that I don't have to worry about exposing myself.

I then pinned the panels along the existing seam and then sewed it using a small zig-zag stitch.

I did this for both the front and back panels.

Once that is done, it's time to put all panels together. With the wrong sides together,

I sewed the shoulder seams and the side seams. Then I finished of the seams with a serger,

which you don't have to do since its jersey and jersey doesn't fray but I like my seams

very clean.

Moving on to the arm hole and neck lines, I just folded the seam over twice at about

⅛ of an inch and sewed using a longer straight stitch, all the way around.

Now since that is done, I am putting it back on the dress form to create the macrame design on the back.

Make sure to flip the dress inside out before you put it back on your dressform

To create the strips, I took the other shirt and cut strips that are ¾

inch wide. I need 10 total of these for my pattern. After they are cut,

I took each piece and pulled them until they rolled onto themselves to create string.

I pinned one piece of string along the top to create an anchor for the pattern to attach

to. and Since I didn't know much about macrame, I looked up an amazing tutorial that I used

to create the pattern, you can find the link in the description as well, definitely use

that as your reference if you recreate this part.

Basically, I first attached three pieces of string onto the anchor using a Lark's head

knot. Pinned the ends of the center string to the deepest part of my back cutout as a

center vertical anchor

and then created a square knot and reverse square knot with the inner strands of the outer strings.

Pinned the ends of the strands onto the neckline and then I did the same with the outer strands.

Added one piece of string on each side onto

the anchor for a total of 5 and again did a square knot and reverse square knot.

Pinned the ends of those next to the others on the neckline.

Added 2 more on either side, did the knots again and pinned them for a total of 7.

And then added my last 2 pieces of string, made the knots and then pinned them for a complete

total pattern of 9 pieces of string.

I readjusted the pattern and spacing to my liking, sewed them all into place using a

regular straight stitch at a longer length setting, and then finally snipped off the

extra pieces of string and my dress is done!

It didn't turn out or fit exactly as I planned, but that's the beauty of life and art!

I hope this video inspires you to try something you've never done before and see where it leads you.

Designing Two Stave Inside Out Christmas Ornament - Duration: 9:31.

Hi, Alan Stratton, from As Wood Turns (http://AsWoodTurns.com). It seems that a lot of people are preparing

for this year's Christmas Ornament Challenge. In fact, I've had many questions about inside

out turnings, two stave, three stave, four stave, what ever stave. In this video, I'll

make a two stave inside out ornament. For me, planning an inside out ornament is

really tough because I have a hard time visualizing how deep to cut, the profile to cut, and the

interaction between what will be the inside, the first turning, and the outside, the second

turning. So, for this video, I decided to use Sketchup.

Sketchup is a great software tool, free for the non pro version. While, I don't think

I can teach you Sketchup in two minutes or less, I can give you a process you can shoot

towards if you are looking to learn Sketchup yourself.

So, I'll walk you through the design process and I will actually turn this two stave inside

out Christmas ornament preparing for the Christmas Ornament Challenge of 2017.

I started by drawing a board one inch by two inches by eight inches. I made this board

a component, then duplicated it while rotating it 180 degrees. I'm using the component

feature because any change I make to one component will be reflected in all other instances of

that component. After hiding one of the two boards, I edited

the other by drawing half circles as if the wood was on the lathe. After extruding semicircles,

I then erased lines that would have been cut away if on the lathe. Ideally, I would draw

smooth curves but that is more difficult to draw and extremely difficult to edit. So I'm

sticking with ¼" increments and assuming that I would smooth them on the lathe.

I can show and hide the second board to start to see the impact of the wood I'm removing.

At this point, if I show both boards, it is as if they have been turned, rotated and glued

back together again. Now again hiding one board, I'll edit the

other from the opposite side from before. This is the exterior turning. Again, I'm

drawing semicircles, extruding them, and erasing areas that would be cut away.

Now when I expose both boards, I'm starting to visualize how this will turn out. It looks

interesting just as it has been drawn. So, at this point, I decided to turn the real

wood exactly as I've drawn it to see how it turns out. I will not use smooth curves

instead of the flats. From the drawing, it looks like it could be interesting and a somewhat

blocky, abstract turning. Here we go. To prepare the cherry wood, I ran a small

bead of glue only down the very end of each board. Then clamped them together and let

it dry. I wrapped each end with fiber reinforced tape for extra safety. After marking my key

transitions, I went to work with a parting tool and sometimes a skew. I'm not winging

this turning. Instead I'm actually trying to follow my measures. I sanded each portion

before moving to the next. I worried about overshooting my marks so I stayed within center

marks until I finished that portion before moving to the next set. With more confidence,

I could have cut away to the outer marks to that depth before moving in to the next pair

that mark the next deeper portion. Oh well, the little insurance was worth it.

With all the sanding finished as I went, I finished the interior section with lacquer,

wiping off the excess. At this point I sawed off ½" from each

end to remove the glue joint. Then split the boards apart, rotated them 180 degrees and

glued them together again with white glue in case any oozes out. I let the glue dry

overnight. At this point I am focusing on careful rounding

off the wood. At the center, there is less wood and it is easy to cut too deeply. At

this point, I just want it round and cut a tenon on the end for mounting to my chuck.

After roughing, the wood is about 1.9" instead of 2". That's ok, I'll still reduce

the diameter in ¼" increments. I'm working one end first just to be careful. But I'm

a bit more brave and extend my cuts more out toward the end. I don't need to remark the

distances, I'm using the cut sides from the interior turning as my horizontal guides.

But I'm careful to frequently measure the diameter.

With this turning being symmetrical top to bottom, I worked the other end the same way

before sanding up through all the grits. I normally drill holes in the ends to receive

tenons. This time I kept the same theme thru the center. The ends of the central portion

will be tenons instead of holes. And I could have turned this between centers instead of

using a chuck. Then finish the exterior with lacquer. I have

to make sure no of the finish globs into the center turning. That's it for the inside

out portion. Now for some walnut. First I'll turn a short

top finial. This is more difficult to mount to a tenon. I should have drilled the body

instead of the finials. I cut a short tenon that I could use in the long nose jaws to

drill and finish the top. Next a reducing spacer between the body and

the bottom finial. Again this would be easier to mount as a tenon. As is, it will have a

hole completely through it – a double mortise. I should have drilled the body when I had

the chance. Finally, I'm turning a bottom finial from

a tropical wood pen blank. Cutting it with a tenon is so much easier. I'm using a small

gouge and my skew for this detail work. My lesson learned with this ornament– don't

get carried away with the shape of the body of the inside out ornament. I carried the

shape out to the tenons that would have been much easier as mortises. I had it in the chuck

already. It would have been easier. Actually, I'm the only one who will ever know I swapped

the mortises for tenons. It looks great as a somewhat robotic inside out Christmas Ornament.

It stands out from all the curvy ones. My wife especially likes the bottom inside curves.

That's all for my inside out ornament. Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe and

tell your friends. Always wear your full face shield –goggles are not enough protection.

Until next week, this is Alan Stratton from As Wood Turns dot com. Come back next week

for a new video and plan now for the Christmas Ornament Challenge coming up in November.

Pretty much the same rules as last year.

Battlefield 1 Incursions: Closed Alpha Invites Going Out Soon! Will Launch Without Matchmaking - Duration: 2:44.

Invitations for Battlefield 1's Incursions Closed Alpha are slated to go out next week,

according to developers.

Incursions is Battlefield 1's answer to the question of competitive gaming in the

franchise.

The 5 v 5 game mode pits two teams against each other in a battle for control of one

objective at a time.

Each player chooses a unique kit, so it's a pretty big departure from your run of the

mill Battlefield 1 experience.

For a complete explanation of how Incursions works, you can click the link on the screen,

or find it in the video description below.

The launch of the Incursions Closed Alpha may come as early as September 18th, but developers

are only saying they plan to send out invitations during that week.

I'll keep you updated on the latest Incursions news via Twitter, so if you're not already

following for the Dank Memes, there's another reason.

Unfortunately, it appears when Incursions goes live, it will do so without a proper

matchmaking system – at first.

Developer Jojje Dalunde says players will have to use the server browser to find a match,

which isn't a big deal for most players, and will hopefully make it easier for friends

to play together.

Personally, I use the server browser most of the time when playing Battlefield 1, anyway.

According to devs, the initial matchmaker for the Closed Alpha just wasn't up to par,

so Dalunde says DICE will use the time saved to better develop the Incursions matchmaker

in preparation for future releases.

He acknowledges "It will not be a perfect experience… but it will be better than the

alternative."

Having played Incursions at Gamescom, I'm not the least bit concerned about a delay

in the matchmaking system.

The game mode is crazy fun, so hopefully you were able to sign up for the Closed Alpha

before registration closed.

Are you excited to try the Incursions Closed Alpha?

Tell me in

the comments.
