Uber, Careem, & The Yellow TAXI | أوبر أو كريم أو التاكسي الأصفر؟ - Duration: 7:17.

Before the video, we want to tell you that our schedule is now every other Friday, thank you!

Hello boys and girls, in the past year, Jordan saw the spread of Uber & Careem

For those who don't know, Uber and Careem are apps you can use to order a taxi whenever and wherever you want.

You can pay online to avoid any cheating.

They use Google Maps to find the fastest route to your destination.

Many people prefer Uber or Careem over yellow taxis

But taxis are losing tons of money and opportunities because of competition

So what's the solution? Let's see what people on Rainbow Street have to say, enjoy!

What do you know about Uber or Careem?

Companies that acts as taxis with private cars

I don't know, this guy is the one who always takes me.

They're definitely better than taxi drivers

I know nothing, Jon Snow

Do you use Uber or Careem?

Yep, Careem.

The best thing about Careem is that you can order it wherever you want.

I use Uber and Careem

I think they're better than taxis, because when the car comes,

you have all the information; their number, the car, the color, everything.

Careem is great. Their service is great. It comes to your house.

They put on AC, any music you like, they're respectful

Also, with taxis, they come and bother you with talk and smoke without permission

But with Careem, he's respectful, the service is respectful. It costs more but it's definitely worth it.

I had a taxi incident recently. I had gotten out of Sayfway with groceries and put them in the taxi.

Now, the yellow taxi also works. It's legal, it's affordable, it works just fine.

He asked me where I want to go, I told him Jabal Amman.

Careem drivers are patient and have absolutely no problems

He tells me Rainbow Street is full of traffic and filled with potholes, I tell him "No, it isn't, it's like everything else."

Yellow taxis are more reliable in terms of insurance,

He told me "Pay 10JDs, if you like it, pay it, you don't like it, get out."

He goes, "Okay. Get out."

...Life insurance in taxis are much more reliable...

He tells me to do whatever I want, get a paper, pen, write his name, his car number, nothing will happen.

No matter what happens, an accident or anything, you'll have insurance and legal procedures are much easier.

On the gage, it'd have cost 2.5JDs, but he told me if I didn't like it I could get out.

Now you know about the issue here, which is that taxis are losing because of this competition,

but tons of people prefer Uber & Careem since they use technology & brought life to an old, idle industry.

So what do we do? Remove Careem, remove taxis, improve, change, what?

Removing isn't a solution, in my opinion.

Replacing taxis with Careem.

It's true Uber and Careem offer unique services with new technology, but...

... it doesn't mean that taxis are a thing of the past.

What's important is an appropriate form of transport for people, & they want the best option, no matter what it is.

Man, you can't just remove the taxis or Uber and Careem.

Some people prefer this, others prefer that. Keep both and let people choose Uber or Careem or Taxi or whatever they like.

The taxis need to change and improve. Their cars are old...

... they don't turn on the AC, ask all my friends, they use taxis, they don't get ACs!

They take you to places they'd like to go, not where you'd like to.

A basic solution is to let taxis have their own apps too. Service is better, everyone can make their own choice.

We asked 83 people four questions.

Question 1: What do you know about Uber/Careem?

29% know about them.

65% said they use one or both.

And 6% know nothing, Jon Snow.

Q2: Do you use taxis?

31% use it. 69% don't.

Q3: Who's the better transportation method?

90% said Uber/Careem. 5% said taxis, and another 5% dismissed them all as bad transportation methods.

So why did people say so?

People who preferred Uber/Careem said it's because of being able to order it anywhere...

... and small services like AC, respect, no smoking and no cheating in prices.

And for people who preferred taxis, they said it was because of the legality, and the insurance that comes with its service.

Q4: What's the solution?

We gave them 6 choices:

1% said to improve taxis and remove Careem.

Only remove Careem? Nobody.

13% said to legalize Careem and remove taxis

Only legalize Careem: 1%

The majority, 71%, said to legalize Careem AND improve taxis.

And 13% just want to keep everything as it is.

That's this episode. pls follow IG + FB thanks

And we'll see you NEXT. FRIDAY. SALAM.

thx for watching

watch till the end for funny teta

not lying.

here she comes.

American Fighters - Delta force / 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta / - Duration: 11:17.

I welcome you to your next video, this time I've been preparing for you the American elite Delta force.

1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (Delta Force or Delta) is an elite special military unit of the United States Army.

The main mission of Delta is to act against terrorism, but the unit is also trained to carry out missions to relieve hostages, overcrowding, eliminating hidden (hostile) enemy forces.

Delta Force and its equivalent in the Navy, DEVGRU (also known as SEAL Team Six) is one of the most powerful special units and two major United States anti-terrorist units.

Both fall under the Joint Special Operations Command.

Most operations and material pertaining to the unit are strictly secret. Delta Force members are usually the best members of other special army units, such as the Green Berets or the Rangers.

obseekers in this unit must meet the following requirements:

a citizen of the United States of America

volunteer, male (women can not serve here)

be a graduate of a college serve at least 2 years in the US security forces

paratrooper or volunteer for paratrooper training

rank sergeant, captain or major have a SECRET verification meet physical fitness tests meet the fitness test of FM 21-20 with a minimum of 75 points

be at least 1 year in command

So this is quite up to date, and I can not do it in a simple way.

As we can see, we are comparing the special units of Russia and the United States, so we know that there are similarities in the direction of many.

But it also varies in many things, so it's hard to compare.

Set yourself up, make yourself comfortable and enjoy a great video ....

Thank you for seeing my video and I hope you have been beaten and rewarded it like. If you are new here, be sure to click on the subscription button. Share where you can. I'm looking forward to another video ...

Unstoppable Entrepreneur Success Stories: Ceej and Tatiana - Duration: 22:27.

Welcome everybody! We are back with another client takeover today for the

unstoppable entrepreneur program. My name is Stephanie I'm the marketing manager

here at Kelly Roach. And actually virtually sitting down today with CJ and

Tatiana who are two of our clients in the unstoppable program and I could talk

all day long but it's way more interesting to hear you guys talk about

your story and that's really what we want to highlight today so let's kick

things off! I'd love for you to tell our audience what you do and how you got

started! Absolutely you want to kick it out? Yeah

yeah sure absolutely! So uh we have a background, I have a background in

aviation. So I was in traffic controller for the United States Navy and then I

became a civilian air traffic control and I did that for about thirty years.

Our journey, were into network marketing started actually back in 1986 and so I

kind of always tell people I kind of grew up an industry because I was a

teenager at the time and I fell in love with that company I didn't have a

success that I wanted with that company after nine or 10 years and so I decided

to really dive deep into my air traffic control career I spent the next 17- 18

years really diving deep into that. It was really really blessed to make the

shot up on a thousand dollars a year. But we always still had the itch for the

network marketing thing to have the success there and a few years back I

took a leap of faith actually and started with a company that was less

than a year old. Yeah it was less than a year. And

thank God it worked out. I always like to tell people we like to judge our success

by the amount of people that we help become successful. And so we were really

really blessed to help a few people you know reached a six-figure and multiple

six-figure income with that company. So allowed us to become a full-time dad,

full-time parents right? So that was a really super super cool thing and

from there it's just been a Boston's just been a home run ever since.

My story is completely different and I was actually born in Russia! So I've been

living in the United States for about thirteen years so I moved down in 2004.

My background is in aeronautical engineering! Oh my gosh I actually didn't

know that! So we have kind of similarity in the

aviation background, you know and that industry. But I'm always tell people that

I'm an aeronautical engineer by education. I've never actually worked in

that field when I moved to the United States I quickly found myself working in

the restaurant industry. So one of those people who go out, you know get degree,

and they don't get a good job right? That was kind of me you know I was working

two jobs, I was working hard long hours, no benefits, very little pay. At one point

I find myself working two jobs. So can't really do much you know? When everybody

would go out and party on Friday- Saturday night I was in bed by 10

o'clock because hey, I had to be up early right and serve people breakfast so that

was kind of my story for at least a decade. And then a friend of mine

introduced me to network marketing she invited me to in the band and I said

"Well what's that?" She was like we'll just come there's gonna be a cash bar." So she was my

friend so I went and then I tried to product of course. I fell in love with

the product. And I think that's how most people join network marketing. They try

the product they're like "Oh this is cool!" "Oh I love the product!" "Okay there is an

opportunity to make a little bit of cash!" So that's how they start. And most

network marketers they never go beyond that point we're actually become

business owners and not just independent distributors. So that was kind of my

journey and I remember sitting back and that meeting and thinking to myself just

"Ugh gonna recruit me! I'm not joining no pyramid scheme!" That's what we hear as network marketers

"Oh that's a pyramid scheme, okay have a great day." You know what I mean. So that's

kind of how it started. And then we have some Kelly then we found Kelly Roach. Oh my

gosh... yeah you know I think this is our fourth month and

it's just completely transformed in our business and our in the direction our

business is going you know? We came in as network marketers.

So we came in as network marketers all we wanted to do is to grow our network

marketing business. Along this journey we have actually found at a companyvalue

drivensuccess.com We decided to go a different route and brand ourselves an

as a brand network marketing company. Companies come and go and you're

the only constant. If you are known for being you know? A wrinkle cream girl or

the shake girl, what happens once you change the companies right? So it was a

lot of research eight or nine months and then we heard a podcast interview where

Peter Woo was actually interviewing Kelly Roach. She said one of the things

and I'm paraphrasing where she said "Well if you're in any kind of business for

yourself and you don't advertise, if you don't run ads on Facebook, then you're

completely crazy and you're missing out. Yeah 100 percent.

That was some good cool thing for us with I think with Kelly. So after

eight to ten months of kind of researching and realized and that we need

to do things a little bit different and transition from offline to online. When we

heard the podcast with Kelly it's like "Yep that's what we need, that's exactly

we need. We need someone to help us make that transition and what we

call graduate from being a network marketing distributor rep or associate

and graduate to being a business owner. And after listening to that podcast we were like who better

than to do it then Kelly Roach. So that's when we made a decision and she's

been very instrumental, her and her team have been instrumental to us transitioning to

becoming business owners and make that transition from offline to online and

personal brand ourselves to become something really

really huge. The layout, the plans, the step-by-step, the detailed. She's very, I

don't know... she's as thorough as can possibly be. And her knowledge is

every time I'm here I'm you know we getting that coaching call, I'm like man, I'm blown away! Like how does she know that! Our team says

that were like she knows everything. She has an answer for everything!

So it's just been a home run for us, a dream come true for us to take us to that

next level so it's super cool. We started out as network marketers with Kelly wanting to grow a network marketing

business because we've read some reviews on Kelly's website that she had worked

with actual network marketers from our company before so I'm like okay next

thing you know I was in the office and he's on the phone with you the next

thing I know he watched listened to the podcast he went online he researched

Kelly Roach got the phone number or email and then we're members of Unstoppable Entreprenuers.

It's kind of fun to look back to because I remember our initial conversation and we

were talking about like the different arms or legs or whatever in marketing

we're like we're gonna grow this one we're gonna do all this stuff and then

we hopped on an accountability calling you're like we just launched this whole

marketing thing I get your ads, I see your facebook, I mean everywhere yeah and

that was from maybe like summer to now I mean it's just amazing to watch the

progress you guy's have made. Yeah yeah and it's really have to find

the words but it Kelly's coaching has just been so instrumental I mean this

it's nothing like having an A to Z right. Okay so for the first it's the first 60

days this is what you guys gonna do okay well then we're gonna check back with

you in next month and then the next you know from 60 days to six months is which

is what you guys do. It's nothing like having it laid out, that blueprint that

road map if you will layed out for you, and I think there's a genius

part about what she offers is it's any profession really. So if you know for us

is network marketers and now business owners for her to be able to lay that

out for us has been it's been huge for us and we can't say enough good things

about the program. You guys are everywhere which is just so cool to see

and so I kind of want to take a step back and say I mean talk to me about the

transition where you went from independent distributor to business

owner - now I just you mean you've un capped everything that you've done so walk me through

that transition the mindset the strategies everything you

had to do to kind of get yourself there. So what we knew was that marketing

was changing right? That the old sales and prospecting that worked at 1985 was

not going to work today right I know forget the interviewer I was

watching Gary Vee one day he said he made a statement a really profound

statement said if you're fortunate enough to see your mom or dad act that

your current age whether it be 30 or 40 you would know that they and you are

significantly different it got me to thinking about that mm-hmm

no what does that really mean I thought about it for a second I said you know

what the 35 year old mom's a day with three kids it's not the same 35 mom of

three kids 35 years ago agreed. Completely different right. So why are we as network

marketers trying to market to that mom today using tactics and strategies from

35 years? And so that's what made us realize that we really needed to

transition from being a rep or distributor or associate and graduate if

you will to becoming a business owner and use the strategies that were today

and that is really market ain't marketing right so we're learning how to

end marketing sales are two different things and so we knew that we need a

transition to where the people are and and they are online and so we knew that

you know we needed to brand ourselves into the marketplace and kind of learn

that whole stat is intact us behind there

and so that's what we did Cali roads just been you know huge success for us

and doing that and we're learning we're still learning you know you know we

learned we had a very successful offline business but the transition to do an

online personal branding spending journey it's been it's been a great

journey as well and again when you're an independent distributor network

marketing you don't really own anything yes you're a business owner on the paper

right to get great benefits for tax purposes

lots of write offs right so it's like we're in as a profession where it gives

you anybody from all walks of life education lack of education to have

success so your bread background means nothing right sometimes it keep you come

to network marketing from traditional sales is gonna hurt you right if you

don't have any sales experience it's gonna hurt you so it's not a body of

background it's about following this system but where I'm going with this is

you don't own anything you're in business for yourself but you don't own

the product the company owns the product you don't know the company the company

owns you know the company so it's basically and it can take you be taken

away from you at any moment because there are lots of compliances so you

have to really stay within this bubble so what we've been on the search for is

to find a way you know to become business owners and for us it was the

transitioning of traditional business building from building it offline

traditional way and to transition it online and along the way we came across

an affiliate programs that helped network marketers to do just that

so when we start and I always tell people just start somewhere like when we

started with Kalyn we were just independent distributors wanting to grow

our business and now we're building our brand and now we're at transition or a

business from offline to online and now we're helping other people to do the

same yeah and make it a smooth sailing for them as well and what we're doing is

we're trying to educate them that hey build your stuff not your company so

that's kind of where we are and you know kind of like pieces started no comment

together and falling in its place kind of like putting a puzzle together

sometimes I'm like amazed at Falls with Kelly which you can't put a price tag on

our wine and wine protocols it's just amazing we're like we're on the same

wave it's the same energy we're thinking speaking in the same way it's just

amazing yeah yeah and I think I think I was quite honest I think I was really

happy when we you know she could kind of she can like she can see into the future

where things are going and so I think that she's very happy with what we're

doing but I think she's really especially happy when we realized that

we mentally had graduated from just being a network marketer and becoming a

business owner right and I think she was really happy with us you know making

that decision to do that and we know that we is something that we going to be

able to allow you know teach our team to do as well and and just kind of educate

them on the reality of things is that you want to graduate Robert Kiyosaki

says it all the time he loves our profession he loves the profession but

he says you guys have to graduate from just kind of being a distributor or a

rep or Scioscia become business owners develop that business component

mentality now the mentality is taught and a lot of the good companies but the

reality is most of them are in business owners yet they have been graduating

become business owners that was just why we started biogenesis Escom to become a

business owner and be able to teach people to kind of do the same thing as

well and that's what we do at value driven success that come your mentor

coach you know network marketers small entrepreneurs and business owners on how

to take that leap of faith and transition their business from offline

to online because that's where the people are I think Eric we said go where

the people are going and the people are I know they're like we think they're on

Facebook crazy 2 million run ads circling so much

opportunity right I love that yeah and there's so much kind of in there too and

I think one of the things that you guys talked about really beautifully is just

I know CJ you said yet they're not business owners yet at tatianna he talks

about all of these moving and one of the things that we always

talk about is building the seven-figure foundation where it's how do we turn

this from hundreds of millions of moving pieces that are all kind of flying

different directions to actually stacking them on top of each other to

build that business and I mean I think you guys have just done that so

beautifully so I mean looking forward what are kind of the biggest tools that

you guys are working on now as you look to the next 12 months or shorter yeah

well I think a couple of couple three main goals right so you know we started

with that fan page right and so we'd like to grow those numbers right we just

hit the two thousand really excited about that and so obviously we want to

grow the fan page we want to obviously you know build a you know an email list

kind of correlation what's a fan page and you know I long turn goals or has

helped to help as many people transition to becoming business owners you know and

I think you know the monetary success will come with doing that and so we're a

blessed position where we now have you know several income streams and we're

business owners and our main thing is we really love our profession of network

marketing and we want to teach the network marketer to kind of break out of

the box that network marketing box if you will and become a business owner and

we have a way to do that I allow you to do that that we can show you to do that

in thank God do we have a coaching and Kelly rose from her team that can guide

us to do that you know so it's it's it's been big so that's our goal is to help

as many people graduate and become business owners and you know

successfulness and grow our fan page 200,000 we do want to get to the high

you know top ranks in our company as well that is still our goal oh yeah

but honestly you're like the monetary like the money part was kind of in the

back burner for me it's my goal let's do the work let's impact people let's make

a difference let's bring the value to the marketplace

and the money will come yeah I think that's the really nice thing about

entrepreneurship too is that I think a lot of entrepreneurs think about that

impact more than maybe you wouldn't like upper office per se and so like I said

just to see you guys out there and thinking of that impact first and going

live and you guys were just at an event I mean you're everywhere it's so cool

and it's like people are watching you know I see the comments I see the

engagement on your Facebook live and so obviously for us that's really exciting

but it's just really cool to watch you guys really build that momentum and

are some minefields out there right there are some you know things that you

don't want to do your directions you don't want to go and a coach can kind of

guide you around those things so get yourself a coach I don't know where we

faster that's right. Oh yeah oh yeah totally agree with you guys. Well this

was awesome thank you so much for sitting down with me and a recording a

Ronda Rousey WWE Plans SCRAPPED?! | WrestleTalk News Sept. 2017 - Duration: 3:45.

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News - I'm Oli Davis, and sometimes, in the online

content creation business, you have to take a substandard concept and wring it for all

it's worth.

WWE Yearbook 2017 ...so I have tremendous sympathy for WWE.com's

latest feature - the WWE Yearbook 2017, which, in true yearbook fashion, awards various roster

members with vapid accomplishments like: Naomi and 'No Carbs' Jinder Mahal winning

'Most likely to be found at the gym'.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Alicia Fox being declared 'Most Unique', whatever that means.

And arguably the annual's most lofty achievement - Best Hair going to Renee Young and Roman

Reigns.

Who, admittedly, does have beautifully sweaty hair.

I'd also like to add Most Likely To Succeed in Volleyball to Cesaro, Teacher's Pet to

Jason Jordan and Best Swimsuit to Rusev.

It seems WWE saved their Most Likely To Win The Mae Young Classic decision until quite

late in the day, though…

Original Mae Young Classic Plans The Mae Young Classic final took place on

Tuesday night immediately following Smackdown, where Kairi Sane beat Shayna Baszler to become

the tournament's inaugural winner.

But according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this wasn't always the plan.

Sane was intended to win the competition from the start, but before the tournament began,

New Zealand-born Toni Storm was reportedly pencilled in to face her in the final.

This was changed to Baszler when WWE decided to start building towards a Horsewomen vs

Horsewomen match - a storyline that would see WWE's Four Horsewomen Charlotte, Becky

Lynch, Bayley and Sasha Banks, take on the MMA version of Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, Marina

Shafir - and the group's biggest draw - former UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey.

Ronda Rousey Angle Scrapped WWE even went so far as to shoot two angles

for the eventual showdown - one in the early stages of the Mae Young Classic where the

two groups taunted each other in the crowd, and another just last week where Rousey challenged

Charlotte face-to-face.

It was widely expected the Mae Young Classic final would stage the next angle between the

two factions, but the decision was made - reportedly as late as the day before - "to make the

final night about Sane and save the Horsewomen angle for later".

According to The Dirty Sheets, however, there is another reason behind Kairi winning the

tournament.

While WWE have signed Sane to a contract, they haven't yet been able to reach an agreement

with Baszler.

If true, this is very similar to the rumoured original plans for last year's Cruiserweight

Classic, which had Kota Ibushi pencilled into win before he turned down a WWE deal midway

through the tournament.

The report continues that it was "Vince McMahon's decision to scrap any further

teasing of a match between the 4 Horsewomen of MMA vs the 4 Horsewomen of the WWE".

Vince hadn't been involved in the Horsewomen build until the final on Tuesday night, presumably

as the Mae Young Classic appears to be a Triple H and Stephanie McMahon project, and he reportedly

decided to drop the storyline last minute because the company doesn't have yet have

solid contracts with either Rousey or Baszler.

This doesn't necessarily mean HorseBowl has been dropped altogether, as hopefully

WWE, Ronda and Shayna can come to an agreement soon.

The CM Punk vs WWE lawsuit has taken its latest turn!

And more details have come out about Baron Corbin's backstage heat.

Habberdashed A Tony Mandolin Mysteries Short Story

By Robert Lee Beers

Chapter 1

"The victim appears to have been punctured by something several dozen times, Captain."

Monahan glowered, it could have been at the uniform standing over the corpse, at the circumstances

that had him dragged out of his house at a couple minutes after midnight, or it could

have been at me because I was the one who phoned it in.

The victim was Alphonso Guinelli, one of the Fashion Districts top tailors and also a friend

of my partner, Franklin Jackson.

Me, I'm Tony Mandolin, a slightly worn private investigator who's seen far too many dead

bodies killed in far too many weird ways.

Located between 2nd and 11th Streets, San Francisco's Fashion District is one of the

top money-makers for both the city and the state.

It's one of those South of Market areas that has never really changed, since before

both earthquakes.

The styles may come and go.

But some of the firms have been there almost since the days of the missionaries, and in

several of them, Italian is the language of choice… still.

"Tell me again," Captain Monahan fixed his glower completely on me, "Mandolin,

why you were down here, and in this shop at this ungodly hour of the morning."

Pat, Captain Patrick Monahan of Metro's finest is, believe it or not, one of the few,

if not the only friend I have on the police force.

Both of us have saved each others' life far more than either of us would like to count.

However, friendship can only cover so many bases and being dragged out of your bed on

a cold, damp, miserable night to look over a body covered in more blood than anything

else is not something most friendships are built upon.

"Alphonso was one of Frankie's friends, Pat," I said.

"The big guy called me.

I guess he was unsure about calling 911."

Frankie's close to 7 feet tall, well over 300 pounds and just about the strongest man

I've ever known.

He's also a raging diva, ex-drag queen and if there is such a thing as a renaissance

man covering all areas of the pop culture, cooking and fashion worlds, Frankie's the

template that broke the mold.

"I see," Monahan growled.

He knew Frankie almost as well as I did, so I didn't have to elaborate.

He looked down at what was left of Alphonso and then back at me, and I knew what was coming

next, "So tell me, Tony, why shouldn't he be number one on our suspect list?

Who else but an over-the-top fashionista would have the motive to off a tailor?"

"Pat," I had to go through the ritual, "Frankie was one of the guy's best friends!

They probably spent more time chatting in that back room than you and I do watching

Niners games!"

Monahan muttered, "Who doesn't, these days?"

I gestured to the corpse, "Besides, look at the guy.

Whoever did that has to be insane.

No one stabs a person, with whatever was used, that many times unless they are really around

the bend, across the intersection and out into the middle of the bay."

"You're not helping his case, Mandolin," Monahan said in a flat no-nonsense tone.

"Pat!"

He waved a hand, "It's alright, Mandolin," he said, "I'm just giving you a hard time.

This whole thing could have been handled by Knowlen and I could still be sleeping.

The only reason they called me is because you're involved, even if as an outside investigator."

Inwardly, I groaned.

Lieutenant Knowlen, or as everyone I knew called him, Little Denny Knowlen, was about

5'6" in lifts with about 8 feet of tender ego.

He was also tied in with some folks in the Mayor's office, probably as a snitch.

He did not like me and the feeling was just abut as mutual as a thing could be.

I'd done him wrong by being involved in the putting away of his bosom buddy ex-police

lieutenant Rorche, a cop so bent he could do his own rectal exams.

Rorche made the mistake of trying to kill me, and I made the mistake thinking the cops

would be glad I helped remove a cancer from their insides.

Foolish me, thinking people employed in a bureaucracy would value integrity over money.

I found out after the fact that Rorche was their second employer, in oh so many ways.

"The M.E's here" Pat nodded at the uniformed cop and said,

"Let her in."

The Medical Examiner for the city and county of San Francisco is Ursula Ignatova, also

a friend, and also one of those people to whom science is a playground, not this distant

misty land of unknown languages and symbols we mere mortals see it as.

She and her fiance, Paul Verona have both helped me out of really sticky situations,

a few times at risk of their own necks.

In times like this, Ursula was truly welcome as far as I was concerned.

We all stepped back to let her work.

Unlike the M.E's in television, she did not glance at the body and tell us how he

died, including when and where.

In the real world, even in Fog City, such things require examination, and that is what

she did, along with her continuously yawning assistant.

The exam went on for a while, and, after looking at several square inches of skin, wiped clean,

with everything wiped placed in those little evidence zipper bags, Ursula said, around

mouthfuls of a deli sandwich she'd managed to bring along, "You need to look for a

needle."

Monahan looked around, and said, exasperation all through his voice, "Doc, we're in

the middle of a Gawd damned tailor shop!

You can't spit without hitting a needle!"

Ursula looked at him, and swallowed, "This one will probably have blood on it."

Running his hand through his red and white thinning hair, Pat called out to the officers

on scene, "Bag every needle you can find, and if you come across one with blood on it,

put it into its own bag."

Everyone stood there, staring at him.

He took in a breath and bellowed, "You heard me, move!"

Chapter 2

I hung around and watched the uniforms comb through the shop, pulling and collecting small

sharp pointy things for several minutes and then, finally having had my fill of excitement,

said to Monahan, "You're getting paid overtime, I'm just wasting it.

I'm headed home."

He nodded, not even looking at me, and replied, "Yeah, go ahead.

I'll call you if I need you."

As I headed toward the front of the shop, Pat called out, "You tell Jackson to not

take any trips.

He's a material witness at the very least."

I heard the unsaid if not more.

Pat was not feeling generous.

My house, all mine, I don't pay a mortgage, and paid for in cash because of a job that

had captains of industry and the city's crime lords handing me wads of said cash by

the bucket-load, is a good distance from the Fashion District, especially by bus.

I also do not drive, nor do I own a cell phone or a computer.

This Luddite trait of mine tends to annoy those entities dependent on being able to

reach you at all times regardless of how you feel about it, but my answer to each and every

one of them is, buy a stamp.

I kind of like riding the bus.

It gives me time to digest clues, check out the scenery without worrying able car payments

or insurance, and I get to enjoy the occasional spontaneous street theater such as what was

now playing out before me as I rode; one of Fog City's champions of halitosis and negative

hygiene with no teeth and 200 proof breath was attempting to convince a couple of stoners

currently so high they could be floated home, that the seat they were occupying was his

pad and he needed his beauty sleep.

From the looks of him, he was about 40 years too late.

The entertainment part of the whole deal was trying to figure out what each of them was

saying.

The show ended at the next stop when the stoners drifted off the bus and Mumbles Halitosis

settled down to a nice loud snore.

Fortunately for me, I needed to grab a transfer to get to my neck of the city, so I jumped

off at the next stop and was able to breathe again.

One thing about the fog in Frisco, it's not just cooling, it also cleans the air,

even from terminal bad breath.

There's a small park across the street from my house and the other Victorians on the block.

As blocks go, this one is short, with only five homes on it and not a single corner grocery

to be found, which, for Frisco is unusual.

The other unusual bit is, the fronts of the houses face south, meaning we all get morning

sun coming in.

Believe me, this is important, especially during the summer, which can be the coldest

time of the year if the weather decides to act up.

I could see the light in the kitchen was on as I neared the walkway to my porch.

That meant Frankie was still upset.

The big guy can't sleep when he's that way, so he putters in the kitchen.

Sometimes it's baking, other times its fancy stews, he calls them ragout, pronounced rag-oo.

When it happens, the neighbors benefit, because the big guy can cook.

Me, I do a decent can of beans.

He didn't call out as I unlocked the door, but my German Shepherd, Greystoke padded over

to say hi and then, tail wagging more in keeping with form than anything else, went back to

his own bed.

I saw Frankie, as suspected, at the kitchen counter, whisk in hand doing terrible things

to some kind of batter.

His forearm and hand were a blur.

Frankie glanced over his shoulder at me and said, "Oh, hi Tony.

I'm making popovers.

The custard's in the fridge if you want to try it."

"That can wait, big guy," I said, "Have a seat.

I saw Alphonso."

His face fell and he put the bowl of battered batter down.

"Who would do that to him, Tony?"

His voice broke a little as he asked, "He was an old man who never harmed anyone.

He didn't even swat flies."

A tear started down one broad cheek.

"Well, Frankie," I said, "That's what we're going to find out and then we're

going to nail the bastard, whoever it is."

The big guy's expression cleared and he said, "Damn right!"

Morning came early and loud with Frankie ready to go and catch the bad guys, whoever the

hell they were.

Me, I was more ready to face some coffee while loosening up the cobwebs from my brain cells

than I was the sunshine.

I was still in my bathrobe groping for the coffee pot when Frankie came into the kitchen,

"Come on Tony, the days getting away from us."

"Coffee first," I croaked "Toneeee…"

Frankie's voice takes on a little boy, or girl note, depending on his mood when he's

anxious, or excited.

I think this morning was a bit of both.

I think I was a bit sharp with him.

"Frankie!

I need my coffee!"

"Well… gee…" he huffed, "Someone got up on the wrong side of the temper today."

I waved a hand, "Just let me pull myself together, and then we'll head on down to

see Ursula."

He asked, "Ursula?

But I thought—" I interrupted, "Frankie, she's the one

who can give us the how and the when.

Once we get that we can start working on the why."

He opened his mouth, "Oh."

Even with my yawning and stumbling through coffee, shower, and dressing, we still managed

to make it to the coroner's offices before 9 am.

That told me the big guy had really been motivated.

It's usually me being the early bird.

Being a known quantity, the receptionist waved us through and we headed into Ursula's stainless

steel kingdom.

The room, as usual, was just above freezing, heat not being the medical examiners' friend.

Ursula was bent over a body partially covered by a sheet and all the way open, with assorted

bits and pieces laid out before her like a Hannibal Lecter buffet.

She glanced our way as we approached and smiled, "Oh, hi guys.

I have some very interesting news."

Chapter 3

"Look at this," Ursula pulled the biggest magnifying glass I'd ever seen over to sit

between us and Alphanso's body.

I would have loved something like that when I was a kid.

No ant hill would have been safe.

Frankie asked the operative question, "What are we looking at, besides poor Al, that is?"

Ursula smiled, "First, tell me what you see," she said, not budging.

"Umm," Frankie looked, "It kind of looks like my friend Debbie's thigh, she's diabetic,

you know, and has to give herself regular injections."

"Um hmm," Ursula said, nodding, "But as you know, this is the center of our friend's

back."

She never called the bodies anything else.

I was pretty sure she carried on conversations as she worked.

"And as far as I can tell, Mister Guinelli wasn't a diabetic."

"No," Frankie replied, shaking his head, "He was not."

"And besides that," Ursula said, warming to her subject, "these… injection sites…

pass all the way through the body."

"What?"

"Huh?"

Frankie and I stepped all over our exclamations.

I said, "I think you're going to have to give me a bit more info on that one Ursula."

She pushed the glass away on its armature.

"Whoever killed Mister Guinelli did so with a size 10 sharps hand-sewing needle."

"How can you be so precise?"

Frankie asked.

Ursula reached down and held up an evidence bag.

I could see the needle in it.

She said, proudly, "Because I found it."

I nodded, thinking back to what she said at the tailor's shop.

"Ursula, there had to be hundreds of the things there and in all sizes.

How did you—?"

I lifted my hands expressing the impossibility of the task.

"Oh, there were, exactly 563 pins, 217 needles of varying sizes, and a few other sharp pointed

tools of the trade, but only one number 10 sharps needle with its tip embedded in my

guest's 5th rib 9 centimeters from the costal cartilage."

Frankie said, "Ahh," nodding.

"But… how…"

I was at a loss for words.

Again, Frankie rescued me, "How many holes are there?"

Ursula glanced at Alphasno's body.

"I'm still counting.

I am sure it will be over a thousand.

The poor man would have been dead from shock before he Exsanguinated."

I got that familiar tingle, the icy shiver that told me that weirdness was on the horizon.

"Are you telling me," I asked Ursula, "That that needle," I pointed at the bag with its

silvery evidence nestled at the bottom, "zipped through this man, " I pointed back at the

late Alphonso, "over a hundred times?"

Ursula nodded back, saying, "The only way this could have happened."

Frankie started whistling the old Twilight Zone theme, "Doodeedoodee, Dood Edo dee..."

This time I was in complete agreement with the big guy.

I asked, "How long has he been dead?"

Ursula glanced at the clock and said, "About nine and a half hours now."

Running the numbers, I said to Frankie, "You can start whistling again, big guy."

"Why?"

"Because Alphonso was murdered at midnight."

The circumstances of Alphonso's death meant we weren't just dealing with hinky weirdness,

but that some form of magic was involved.

Whether it was faerie, witch, sorcerer, what have you, which was something to still be

figured out.

Hopefully done so while still in my same skin.

The first thing I needed to do was get some help in tracking the magic.

To do that, I needed to bring in the only noses that can smell that sort of stuff, and

that meant I needed to buy some cheap booze.

The first case I had that introduced me to the magical world that enclosed ours like

a shell involved a rather nasty species of vampire.

Yes, there's more than one.

While I was dealing with that painful set of circumstances, I found out about Pixies,

six-inch flying mischief makers with a penchant for alcohol.

Fortunately for me, especially at that time, they didn't care how cheap or raw it was.

The pixies told me a little about the faerie world, including its unbending tradition of

contracts.

Their nature does not allow for lying, so they've wrapped everything into this incredibly

complex system of oaths, agreements, and treaties.

And believe me, you do not want to break one of those deals.

If you want excitement, tell an MMA champion he's a sissy.

The agreement I had with the pixies was that if I ever needed their help, I was to place

a bottle in a certain hidden spot on Union square, under one of the bushes and late at

night so there was a lessened chance of it being tripped over by a bum.

So I did that and waited.

And waited.

Finally, right about the point where I was going to give up and head home, a tiny figure

flew past my nose, imitating a bumblebee on steroids.

AN equally tiny voice called out, "Hiya, highpockets.

How's it hangin'?"

"Willit," I growled back.

"Why do you do this?

More often than not you leave it to the last possible second and then, just as my patience

is gone, you show up."

"Yup," he said, settling onto the concrete planter edge, totally unrepentant.

"So," he stuck his hands into his belt and looked up at me, "Whattcha need this time?"

I told him about how Alphonso died.

Willit made a face, "Ewww, nasty."

Then he asked, "A bit late for our help, ain't it?

I mean, the poor sap's already dead, right?"

I noticed how his eyes kept straying toward the bottle.

"True," I replied, "But since Pixies can smell magic, I was hoping you'd be able to at least

give me an idea where the killer went afterward."

"Yeah, we could do that," Willit said, pacing back and forth in his preferred haggling pose.

"Question is, how much is a job like that worth?"

I sighed, every single blessed time...

"Willit," I said, my temper a bit past fraying, "Look in the bag."

He did, standing on his tiptoes as he peered inside the store's bottle bag.

"Hey." he exclaimed, "This is the good stuff!"

It's all a manner of perspective.

I paid six bucks for the bottle instead of three.

It was still rotgut, just a better quality rotgut.

"Well," I demurred, "I figured this job would be worth it.

Have we got a deal?"

Willit zipped up to slap my palm in the oddest high five there ever was.

"You bet we do, highpockets.

When and where?"

When and where wound up being the next morning outside the tailor shop, and it was real morning,

not my preferred hour of the day.

I think I heard a few sea lions yawning.

Willit arrived with his entire tribe.

I stood there while dozens of tiny pin-up girls and guys buzzed around me offering hellos,

come-ons, and good-humored insults.

This went on for several minutes, and probably would have continued if I hadn't said, "All

right guys, time to earn your booze."

Wrong word to say.

"Booze?"

"Where?"

"Do we get more booze already?"

"Par-tayyyy!"

It felt like it was already late afternoon before things got back on track, even though

it was only an additional few moments.

I told the tribe what I needed and, after sniffing around the shop doors, and inside--pixies

do not pay attention to police tape--they zipped off, a laughing swarm of over-sized

bumblebees with rainbow highlights.

Traffic began to increase, both on the street and the sidewalk as shop owners and employees

started showing up for the day's labors.

A few nodded at me as they passed, some even gave me a grunted, "Morning..."

But most just clutched their paper cup of gourmet coffee as they shuffled along, shoulders

hunched against the cold and damp of a Frisco dawn.

I didn't have to wait long.

A small group of Pixies came looping and tumbling through the fog and called out to me as the

crossed the street, "We got 'em!

We got 'em!"

"Who or what do you have?"

I asked.

I forgot about Pixies.

Most have the attention span of a goldfish.

"Have what?"

They asked.

"Did you find out where the magic went?"

I asked back.

"Ooooh!"

Back on track, my winged attention-deficit guides lead me along a circuitous route up

to Market and west toward the southern edges of the Tenderloin.

That icy chill started up again.

When they led me to a certain manhole cover behind a certain dilapidated apartment building,

it opened into a full-fledged cold shower.

Who, or whatever had killed Alphonso had literally gone underground into what the fae call Below.

recommend to you guys today is a band called good 4 nothing and they formed in

kansai in probably 1998 I think. They're a four-piece band and they play melodic

hardcore and they've got maybe 12 albums I think, so they've got plenty to choose

from. They're really awesome band, I really like

the older faster stuff that they do but most of the stuff they make is pretty

awesome and they've got some pretty funny videos too.

If you want, you can check them out on their website which is probably good4nothing.com

but right now let's take a look at one of the videos it's called

hello 61 and it's pretty short so let's check it out.

The second band I want to recommend to you guys today is a band I've seen a lot

recently called Modern Knock. Modern Knock a four-piece band with a female

singer and they do dual vocals. They formed in Osaka in 2013 they've done 4

like mini single demo things and they're really good. They're really good live and I

always, when I see them, I give them a little wave and stuff so they're awesome!

They deserve a lot more recognition than what they get. They're very pop punk to be

honest but they do have some fast tunes too and this song I want to show you now

is called And1 so let's check it.

The third band I wanna recommend to you guys today is a band called Northern 19.

Northern 19 formed in probably like early 2000... 2003 - 2004 something like that

and they're from Tokyo as a lot of the bands are. Yeah they have something

like six albums and plenty of music videos too and I think they are a

three piece, so just guitar, bass and drums. They also are

in this melodic hardcore kind of vein where sometimes poppy sometimes fast and

yeah they're pretty cool the song I really like by these guys is a song

called go and it's gonna be playing in a second so let's have a listen.

The next band I want to recommend to you guys today is band called Secret 7 Line.

It's a weird band name and Japanese bands seem to have got a thing for numbers but what can you

do... it's not my decision. Anyway they're pretty cool there are three piece

they've formed in the late 2000s maybe 2007-2008. Once again they're from Tokyo

these guys have got maybe five albums out these days and a lot to choose from

some pretty cool music videos me personally they're older the stuff is much

more on the fast side of things and I'm love fast music so I'm more into that but

they're modern stuff is still melodic hardcore so you might spot a theme yet

anyway the song I want to show you today is called Wanna Go let's check it out

The last band I want to recommend for you today is a band called F.I.B and that

stands for fill in the blanks and basically they're an awesome band I

knew about these guys when I was in England and I can't believe I missed them off my

other Japanese punk bands who play in English video this one but I did miss

them off that playlist and I feel kind of bad. They're one of my favorite all-time

bands song and a recommended them to you now. So as I said they formed in Kyoto in maybe

2002-2003 they were a 5-piece they did four full albums before they split up they're no

longer going and they were heavily involved in pizza of death records which

is Ken Yokohama from Hi-Standards record label absolutely awesome band

kind of more technical in terms of the music they produce a bit more like

Belvedere and this kind of stuff if you're into that anyway the song is here

today is called Kizuna and it's here so let's have a look

excellent so that was five more Japanese punk bands who sing in English that I felt

like recommending to you guys so if you like this video do me a favour thumbs

up on the video I'd appreciate that. While you're at it go to the comments

section below and complain that I didn't put your favourite band on this list

I'll try better next time and don't forget if you haven't already please subscribe

to my channel try to get 2,000 subscribers by the end of the year so

I'd really appreciate that support while you're at it check out this playlist for

lots more videos about Japanese punk music and as always until next time
