BREAKING: America Just Sent a Powerful Message to Anthem Protesters | Top Stories Today - Duration: 3:37.

The legacy of Colin Kaepernick is hanging over the NFL like a dark cloud.

During the 2016 NFL season, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Kaepernick became the subject

of national outrage after he started kneeling during the national anthem to protest supposed

police violence against black Americans.

While Kaepernick is not playing in the 2017 season, he has left his mark on the NFL — and

the 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers faced off against the Los Angeles Rams Thursday night for their

third game of the season.

However, by kickoff, there were more empty seats than fans at Levi's Stadium, as many

fans continue to boycott the NFL over the protests sparked by Kaepernick.

Multiple fans shared pictures on Twitter documenting the low attendance.

Less than half of the seats were filled by game start.

According to SFGate, ticket sales for Thursday night's game hit rock bottom.

Ticket reseller, Stubhub, was selling tickets for Thursday night's game for only $14,

around the same price of a hotdog and a beer at the recently-built Levi stadium.

The cheapest tickets were originally priced at $85.

Ticket search engine, TicketIQ, listed a slightly higher average price.

"The current get-in price of $17 is the Niners' cheapest game this season with an

average asking price of $88 — also the cheapest of the season," Explained Ralph Garcia,

public relations spokesperson for TicketIQ.

"The average ticket price across all remaining home games for them is $179," he continued.

He added that the average list price of a ticket has declined 32 percent since 2014.

Yet, Thursday was the 49ers "cheapest home game since the move to Levi's."

Since Colin Kaepernick launched his protest last year, the NFL has struggled to court

viewers.

A study released by J.D. Power and Associates last year suggests that about 30 percent of

the fans who stopped watching football did so because of the national anthem protests,

reports The Hollywood Reporter.

NFL started to see a dip in ratings last year, but concerns were brushed aside.

The dip in ratings was blamed the 2016 presidential election, and was expected to return to normal

this season.

Now, three weeks into the regular season, it appears that ratings and in-game attendance

are unlikely to recover.

Fewer people are watching the NFL today than there has been in years, perhaps decades.

The NFL was optimistic heading into the 2017 season after making a number of changes, such

as reducing the number of commercial breaks, and allowing players to celebrate touchdowns

with end zone dances, however, according to Guggenheim Securities expert, Michael Morris,

"Early results do not support this optimism."

"Continued declines in NFL ratings again this season will likely place further downward

pressure on media stocks," Morris said, adding that, "the NFL is an indicator of

overall primetime programming ratings performance."

At a rally in Alabama Friday night, President Trump compounded the NFL's woes by encouraging

football fans to boycott games if players keep protesting the national anthem.

"When you see it, leave the stadium.

I guarantee you it will end," the president said, but it seems that many football fans

have already got the message.

what do you think about this?

Is Social Media Really About Personal Branding, Or Just About My Last Breakfast Photos? - Duration: 8:26.

- Hello and welcome to my Digital Discovery Marketing

question and answer for Friday, September 22, 2017.

Today I'm going to be talking a lot about

friends and families and business and strangers,

and your personal profile, and your business profile

and your personal branding, and that sort of thing.

I've got some exciting stuff coming up

that I'm going to talk quickly about today.

Basically how to manage those social media profiles,

and should you be using your personal Facebook page,

for example, and what you should be doing with Linkedin

on your Linkedin profile as well.

Should you be showing more personal stuff?

So that's what I'm going to be talking about today.

Again, welcome, my name is Doyle Buehler.

Welcome to the Digital Leadership Facebook Live series.

My goal is to help you better understand and pursue

what matters most in your digital business,

and how to make a difference with your digital strategy

through enhancing and embracing your digital leadership.

I help enterprising entrepreneurs

scale, grow, and disrupt their business and sales

through digital leadership,

and I'm the author of the book on digital strategy,

"The Digital Delusion."

The overall purpose of this is to answer

your one important question,

"What real world digital strategies

actually will work for my business?"

Of course, there's no one-size-fits-all,

but the goal here is to help you decide

which strategies can work best for you.

As I mentioned, in today's show

I'm talking on how to decide what or how

you should separate your social media profiles

or if you even should, for that matter.

A lot of it really comes down to

what we call personal branding.

We all kind of get stuck and not sure where to post

or where or what or

will we offend our family

if we don't post our family pictures

or if we should be all about business kind of thing.

So that's what I'm going to be talking about.

If you do have any questions,

please feel free to add them to the comments below

and I'll address them later

or during the program as well.

So happy to keep that rolling also.

Again, it comes down to personal branding.

You kind of have to decide,

"What is the purpose of me in the digital space?"

So if you're just about

posting your family stuff and that sort thing,

that's great, but then you have to ask yourself,

"Are you in it for the business side of things as well?"

That's really important because

there obviously is a crossover

and you have to be kind of careful in terms of,

"Okay, well what do I need to action here?

"Who do I need to talk to?"

And that sort of thing.

The problem is that it's really, really blurred

between personal and business and that sort of thing.

So quite honestly, you can't just say,

"Oh I want to be just a personal profile

"or just a business profile."

From the personal profile,

people are going to find you,

regardless of whether you want them to,

and they're going to see some stuff

that perhaps is not appropriate

or is more family-orientated

or it's more private or that sort of thing.

So you kinda have to match that

with the other side of things to say, well,

with personal branding and depending obviously

on what business you're in, of course,

the two are sort of merging quite substantially.

So that's where personal branding comes into play,

is that you need to look at who you are as the business

and how that affects your business itself.

So it's really a matter

of defining that purpose and saying,

"Okay, well I am the front of my business

"so I need to get out there,

"I need to provide education,

"and I need to be out there and

"providing advice and learning opportunities,"

and that sort of thing.

So if you're missing that side of things

then it's obviously just a personal profile.

But again, you have to balance that.

At the end of the day, you need to decide

what are you in it for.

You're not going to be able to keep these profiles

clean and dried, to say okay, well family's over here,

business is over here.

Some people have created multiple profiles,

where it's Doyle R. Buehler on Facebook kind of thing

as opposed to just Doyle Buehler on Facebook.

The challenge with that is, again,

people are going to find you on that other profile

and then what are you gonna do?

And plus, then you have to worry about,

"Oh, which profile am I in?

"How am I going to log in?"

and that sort of thing.

It can be very, very complicated.

What I would suggest from a strategic standpoint

is ask yourself,

"What is my purpose here?

"Am I wanting to grow my business?

"Am I the personality of my business?

"Am I wanting to develop my business based on

"what I do as the business owner, the entrepreneur,

"as part of an enterprise?"

whatever the case may be.

Again, look at the personal branding side.

If you're able to say,

"Yes, I want to do that,"

then you kinda have to go with

I'm going to have one profile on each channel rather,

and use that profile.

You have to have a balance, too,

because people don't want to see

just the business side, right?

So people do want to get to know that person as well.

Again, that's part of personal branding.

It's really important that you look at

how do I actually

balance those two?

Obviously, rule number one,

don't put anything inappropriate on social media

because that's not going to help in either case.

Would your grandma, would your nana think that that's okay?

For most business people it's usually

kinda don't go to that depth.

You need to keep that in check as well.

There's again no real private profile,

so people will find you

regardless of what you do or how you do it.

So you have to decide,

"How will I embrace this?"

I personally don't think

you need to have separate profiles.

It doesn't matter if you're on Linkedin.

I see people with multiple profiles on Linkedin

because they're just about

one type of business on this profile,

and just about another type of business

on another profile.

To me, that's too complicated.

You're not thinking long term,

you're not thinking strategic.

You are your brand, right?

And again, that's back to personal branding,

you are your own brand.

You have to take that to say,

"okay, I'm everything in this profile,

"I'm everything in this Facebook profile,

"I'm everything in this social media profile."

So it's really important that you look at

how you actually do that.

So that's about it in terms of being able to

assign sort of a strategic action.

Again, take a look at what's you purpose.

Focus in on that business side.

If you're more family, then you have to decide

well okay, maybe I shouldn't be on Facebook,

or your just kind of keep your personal profile to itself.

But again, it's going to be very hard

if you're trying to build a personal brand.

Facebook does have capabilities to

create a page around you, which is good.

But again, it's not quite as personal.

You can convert your personal profile into a page as well,

but you need 20,000 plus

people to be able to identify with that group as well.

So it's a little bit further out there.

But again, if you're just looking for things to start,

then that's a good way to start small.

So hopefully that answers that question.

I know it's a big deal in the social media world

in terms of "How do I use this?

"How do I actually leverage that?"

So hopefully that's been helpful for you.

So thanks for watching.

There are three core categories that we go through

as part of these Digital Leadership Facebook Live events.

On Mondays, I talk about the state of digital,

looking at specific ideas and insights

that are happening right now

and how this affects your business

and what you can do about it.

I have, on Wednesday, my Digital Leadership guests

and discuss their strategies for success.

And then finally, on Fridays, I have my Digital Discovery

Ask Your Marketing Strategy Q and A,

where I review tools, answer questions

or talk about specific challenges that affect you

and maybe hold you back.

So thanks, again, for watching.

Please like, please leave a comment or a question.

Bukas na lang! Impulsive Filipinos - Duration: 12:13.

Bukas Na Lang - Impulsive Filipinos

I write many an article about life in the Philippines and about understanding Filipino

culture and mindset, and I can see a positive side to

most things.

Wonderful, kind-hearted people who have a lot to teach us hard-hearted "foreigners",

as I'm sure most involved in Australian Filipina relationships learn to realise.

But this is one area where I must admit I find myself struggling to

understand, and that is why Filipinos tend to act with impulsiveness with little to no

thought of long-term ramifications and sometimes tragic

results that hurt them more than anybody else.

"Bukas na lang" means "Ahhhh, leave it for tomorrow."

Let's not think about it today.

Again, I love this place and I love the Filipino people

here.

This is my home.

But my goodness, I find this so difficult.

What I'm talking about is Filipinos making decisions to suit right now, and to hell

with the consequences.

Sometimes this is tied-up with pride, hurt feelings, etc.

See the previous article on "onion skin" and how easy it is

for Filipinos to get their feelings hurt, and how this can

lead to careless decisions.

But it's not just that.

It applies to so many things.

There's a lack of forward planning, and decisions are made without

considering consequences in the short or long term.

Impulsive behavior - Filipinos AND Australians We can all be impulsive.

Our emotions and our hormones can make us do stupid things which

we later regret.

Those Australian men who've got themselves involved with a pretty girl who's

just plain wrong for them because her attractiveness made our brains switch off, yes I'm sure

they (We?

Yes, I've done it too!) can relate to the folly of impulsiveness.

Fear can be a motivator too, ie. fear of losing what appears a great

deal.

If we're angry we can say things we wouldn't normally say.

But most of the time we try not to do this, and we try to consider the medium and

long terms.

Filipinos though?

I suppose maybe its emotion (ie fear, pride, love/desire, anger, embarrassment,

etc) which motivates a lot of short-term decisions.

There just seems to be less decisiveness in trying to avoid rash decisions than you will

see in your average Aussie.

Emotions tend to rule the day, and very little is done to fight this.

Little in the way of internal struggle, or even useful

advice beyond the cliched mutterings of "He/she is not thinking of his/her future!"

You are not thinking of your future!

Has everyone heard this one?

This is what they say when the teenage girl drops out of college

because she's pregnant to her boyfriend.

Their situation caused not only by sexual attraction, but

by a lack of planning.....family planning!

He didn't bring condoms.

She never insisted on them!

But whether it's that, or the kid simply not taking studies seriously, or tossing in a

job opportunity because it meant would miss the

family and friends, that's the common response.

Everyone says they were not "thinking of their future", but this often lacks weight because

the person who says it rarely thinks of their

own future either.

Before I came here permanently, and when I had just been a frequent visitor, I still

thought mostly as an Aussie.

How else could I?

I grew up in Australia!

In Australia I was always acutely aware of the "wolf at the door".

Always aware that the world was a scary place, and that it would

eat you alive without you having security and stability.

House....money in the bank....safety from the elements and from "bad guys", etc.

Yet Australia has safety nets that the Philippines doesn't have.

You can't "get the dole" or be placed in a nice housing commission house if you

find yourself on the street with no money.

Here?

No money and no house means you go hungry and you may sleep in the rain.

Is that enough to motivate the average person, especially those

with family to support, to work hard and to hang onto a job?

Not necessarily.

I can remember a job I had years ago in Sydney.

Had wife and baby at home at the time.

I was in my 20's and it was the late 80's.

And no, I didn't have a mullet hairstyle.

I was just a whole lot slimmer.

I had a manager at work insult me, and he did it in front of others.

And I sat there and took it.

Would have liked to have got up and told him to stick the job where the sun didn't shine,

but no I sat there in silence.

Because if I had done so, I would have let my family down and our

future plans to move up to QLD when we had enough money for a house deposit would have

been put off for maybe years.

And that would never have been OK.

Here?

Let's think of some occasions of Filipinos not "thinking of their future":

* Had a driver (with wife and two kids) try to side-swipe a motorbike in our car (with

child passenger) because the motorbike driver had

given him "the dirty finger".

I shouted at our driver and told him never to do a thing

like that again.

Later had his wife text message us with his resignation, because his

feelings were hurt.

He went back to driving his tricyle.

* Same driver it seems had a few arguments with a subdivision guard.

Went home...got a gun....pointed it at the guard's head.

Fortunately his late-father was in the NBI, so his old

mates collected his home armory and no charges were laid, or he would have been in jail

now over hurt feelings.

* Office security guard learns someone is squatting in his house in the province.

Gets on the bus.

Gets a gun.

Fully intends shooting the squatters.

Not sure why he didn't succeed, but nearly did.

Also a family man, and would have dumped his family because his anger

won the day.

* Domestic helper with six kids, useless husband (doesn't work, and has mistresses).

Lived in poverty, and resembled a broomstick.

Worked with us.

Good salary.

Had plans for building a proper house.

Husband tells her to come visit.

Fakes having a stroke (yes, I'm serious!), which the doctor identified in

examination as fake.

Did all this because she loved him and missed him, and lost what would

have been long-term employment and a good future for kids.

Basically, we've had to learn how to talk to staff very carefully and at the same time

expect to see good employees throw everything away if

they feel embarrassed or get their feelings hurt.

Hang the consequences.

Forget about taking it on the chin, because life is just like that.

Forget what ol' Malcolm Fraser said about "Life was

not meant to be easy"!

We already have to put up with staff needing to take days off because it's their birthday,

or it's their child's birthday, or someone asked them

to be a bridesmaid at their wedding which is

taking place on a work day.

We've had staff telling us they wanted to visit their mum for her

birthday in the province the evening before.

Me?

I sit here and work when I have a fever, or with

a bad headache, or when my back is giving me merry hell.

Because if I don't do what is required, then my business will suffer and my clients

will go elsewhere.

Who could blame them?

And that's just reality.

Yes, getting a little off-track here onto work-ethic issues, but it's all part of it.

I really do wonder why so many Filipinos take the path of least

resistance.

There is a wolf at the door in Australia, but there's a whole pack of Filipino wolves

here in the and they have rabies!

Let your emotions get the better of you in the Philippines,

and you lose out badly!

And no, sadly I don't have any answers.

If you intend to have dealings with Filipinos, you can expect to come across this

difficult phenomena.

Low Carb Ketogenic Diet Basics - Duration: 3:10.

Hi everyone, I'm Stacey from beautyandthefoodie.com, where I create low carb,

keto, gluten free recipes. and here's a short video I prepared for you

that explains the basics of the low carb keto diet and why it works so much better for me and many

other people than the low fat diet and many other diets.

Many studies have shown low carb lifestyles result in more loss as compared to the standard

low fat diet plan.

The strictest low carb plans, like the ketogenic diet limit carb intake to non starchy vegetables,

some dairy and nuts.

Starch and sugar carbohydrates are substituted with non starchy vegetables.

healthy fats, and a moderate protein intake.

While sugar, pastries, pasta, breads, cereal, beans or any other starches are not allowed

and instead you eat non starchy vegetables, butter, fatty fish, oils and some dairy.

You also get to enjoy eggs, steak, bacon, chicken, seafood, and other proteins.

The ketogenic diet triggers a metabolic process called ketosis where the body no longer gets

its energy from the glucose that dietary carbs produce inside the body but instead begins

to burn fat for energy, which is a very efficient way to burn fat stores and lose weight.

People that have gone on a low carb diet typically lose quite a bit of weight in the first 2 weeks.

As the water that's tied to glycogen comes off the body.

Starch and sugar carbs are insulin triggers they cause blood sugar spikes that lead to weight gain.

While on a low carb diet these insulin triggers are eliminated, so the body can burn fat instead of storing it.

Protein helps keep you full and satisfied so you naturally eat less, but also helps

to increase lean muscle mass that promotes fat burning.

A low carb diet naturally regulates the appetite because all of those insulin trigger foods

that wreak havoc in the bloodstream that cause erratic hunger and out of control cravings

are eliminated.

Researchers from Saint Louis in Japan also found that the hunger-regulating hormone leptin

is positively affected by the low carb diet's ability to reduce triglyceride levels in the body

which allows leptin in the body to work much more effectively in regulating the appetite.

When people embark on a low carb diet their appetite significantly drops and they

naturally feel more satisfied with less food resulting in an additional weight loss boost

as they naturally eat less calories and without suffering and starvation.

And best of all you get to eat real food: meats, fish, chicken, bacon, eggs, healthy fats vegetables,

and there are hundreds of terrific low carb recipes to fill your menus.

Low carb diets are not fads, but lifestyles that have helped thousands of people

Reverse obesity and improve their health.

It may just do the same for you.
