Miraculous Healing Using the Power of the Mind is Possible - Duration: 7:26.
Miraculous Healing Using the Power of the Mind is Possible
Dr. Joe Dispenza has an impressive background studying biochemistry at Rutgers University
with a focus on neuroscience, graduating magna cum laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree
from Life University in Georgia, and postgraduate education spanning neuroscience, memory formation,
cellular biology, and aging and longevity.
Hes a New York Times bestselling author and a featured expert in the films What the
BLEEP Do We Know?!, Down the Rabbit Hole and newly released, The People vs The State of
Illusion and the Heal documentary.
After an accident involving a sport utility vehicle during a triathlon, Dispenza is also
known as the man who miraculously regrew six shattered vertebrae of his spine by using
the innate intelligence of his body without the help of conventional medicine.
His physician told him he would never walk again if he didnt opt for surgery. Dispenza
declined.
Instead, he used the power of his mind, along with diet and physical therapy, to regain
his health. Within ten weeks, Dispenza had completely healed himself and was back to
work, a new man. Meditating is a means for you to move beyond
your analytical mind so that you can access your subconscious mind. Thats crucial,
since the subconscious is where all your bad habits and behaviors that you want to change
reside. ~ Dr. Joe Dispenza The Incredible Power of the Mind to Heal the
Body and Soul
In the 1990s, neuropsychiatrist Eric Kandel discovered that connections in a neural bundle
can double with repeat stimulation. The finding earned him a Nobel Prize. During later experiments,
he also found that if neural connections arent used, they shrink in as little as three weeks.
This is the basis for the concept of neuroplasticity where, instead of the brain having certain
developmental cycles (mainly in childhood) and a set structure, our brain is actually
reshaped by the signals passing through our neural network at any given time in our lives.
In the same decade that Kandel and others measured neuroplasticity, other scientists
discovered that few of our genes are static. The majority of genes (estimates range from
75 to 85 percent) are turned off and on by signals from our environment, including the
environment of thoughts, beliefs, and emotions that we cultivate in our brains.
One class of these genes, the immediate early genes (IEGs), takes only three seconds
to reach peak expression. IEGs are often regulatory genes, controlling the expression of hundreds
of other genes and thousands of other proteins at remote sites in our bodies.
This is believed to be the reason for seemingly miraculous healings that have taken place
throughout the ages, where our thoughts, emotions and beliefs are supportive of ultimate health
and harmony.
Writes Dawson Church, Ph.D., author of The Genie in Your Genes:
Joe is one of the few science writers to fully grasp the role of emotion in transformation.
Negative emotion may literally be an addiction to high levels of our own stress hormones,
like cortisol and adrenaline.
Both these stress hormones and relaxation hormones like DHEA and oxytocin have set points,
which explains why we feel uncomfortable in our skin when we think thoughts or countenance
beliefs that drive our hormonal balance outside of that comfort zone. This idea is at the
very frontier of the scientific understanding of addictions and cravings.
Dr. Dispenzas research shows that, when we purposely translate a thought into a positive
emotion, we can positively influence our health and healing. He explains that it all begins
with an intention created in the frontal lobe of your brain, which triggers the release
of chemical messengers, otherwise known as neuropeptides.
These messengers then send signals throughout the body, that in turn, are like keys turning
genetic switches on and off. Take for example the cuddle hormone oxytocin a
neuropeptide that is stimulated by touch, as well as feelings of love and trust.
With a little practice, we all can learn to efficiently adjust our set points lowering
our stress hormones, while increasing our healing hormones. Cutting edge researchers
have named the sequence Dispenza outlines as self-directed neuroplasticity (SDN).
The idea behind the term is that we direct the formation of new neural pathways and the
destruction of old ones through the quality of the experiences we cultivate, says Church.
I believe that SDN will become one of the most potent concepts in personal transformation
and neurobiology for the coming generation.
Stories of profound sometimes miraculous healing are peppered throughout Dispenzas
latest book, You Are the Placebo
Case studies involving spontaneous healing of multiple sclerosis, cancer, Parkinsons
disease, Hashimotos and more illustrate the incredible power of the mind to heal the
body.
Take for instance a double-blind study that found participants were cured of crippling
depression that had dogged them for years after taking, what they thought, was a strong
pharmaceutical.
Incredibly, after the study concluded, a woman who believed she was cured by the antidepressant
was told she was actually in the control group and had never received the drug, but, instead,
had been taking a placebo.
Another study was conducted on a group of elderly men who were to receive knee replacements.
After they went through the surgery, all had typical recoveries and improved mobility.
The thing is, not a single knee had been replaced. The surgeon had only made an incision to make
it look as though they had undergone the surgery, when, in fact, they had not. The patients
range of motion, mobility and freedom from pain matched those who had received actual
knee replacements.
Even for those skeptical that such profound healing could come from changing our thoughts,
Dr. Dawson Church reminds us:
You have nothing to lose by throwing yourself enthusiastically into the process and dumping
the thoughts, feelings, and biological set points that have limited your past.
Believe in your ability to realize your highest potential and take inspired action,
and you will become the placebo that creates a happy and healthy future for yourself and
for our planet. Dr. Joe Dispenza, You Are the Placebo

Hindsight Experience Replay | Two Minute Papers #192 - Duration: 5:04.
Dear Fellow Scholars, this is Two Minute Papers with Károly Zsolnai-Fehér.
Reinforcement learning is an awesome algorithm that is able to play computer games, navigate
helicopters, hit a baseball, or even defeat Go champions when combined together with a
neural network and Monte Carlo tree search.
It is a quite general algorithm that is able to take on a variety of difficult problems
that involve observing an environment and coming up with a series of actions to maximize
a score.
In a previous episode, we had a look at DeepMind's algorithm where a set of movement actions
had to be chosen to navigate in a difficult 3D environment efficiently.
The score to be maximized was the distance measured from the starting point, the further
our character went, the higher score it was given, and it has successfully learned the
concept of locomotion.
Really cool!
A prerequisite for a reinforcement learner to work properly is that it has to be given
informative reward signals.
For instance, if we go to a written exam, as an output, we would like to get a detailed
breakdown of the number of points we got for each problem.
This way, we know where we did well and which kinds of problems need some more work.
However, imagine having a really careless teacher who never tells us the points, but
would only tell us whether we have failed of passed.
No explanation, no points for individual tasks, no telling whether we failed by a lot or just
by a tiny bit.
Nothing.
First attempt, we failed.
Next time, we failed again.
And again and again and again.
Now this would be a dreadful learning experience because we would have absolutely no idea what
to improve.
Clearly, this teacher would have to be fired.
However, when formulating a reinforcement learning problem, instead of using more informative
scores, it is much easier to just tell whether the algorithm was successful or not.
It is very convenient for us to be this careless teacher.
Otherwise, what score would make sense for a helicopter control problem when we almost
crash into a tree?
This part is called reward engineering and the main issue is that we have to adapt the
problem to the algorithm, where the best would be if the algorithm would adapt to the problem.
This has been a long-standing problem in reinforcement learning research, and a potential solution
would open up the possibility of solving even harder and more interesting problems with
learning algorithms.
And this is exactly the what researchers at OpenAI try to solve by introducing Hindsight
Experience Replay, HER, or her in short.
Very apt.
This algorithm takes on problems where the scores are binary, which means that it either
passed or failed the prescribed task.
A classic careless teacher scenario.
And these rewards are not only binary, but very sparse as well, which further exacerbates
the difficulty of the problem.
In the video, you can see a comparison with a previous algorithm with and without the
HER extension.
The higher the number of epochs you see above, the longer the algorithm was able to train.
The incredible thing here is that it is able to achieve a goal even if it had never been
able to reach it during training.
The key idea is that we can learn just as much from undesirable outcomes as from desirable
ones.
Let me quote the authors.
Imagine that you are learning how to play hockey and are trying to shoot a puck into
a net.
You hit the puck but it misses the net on the right side.
The conclusion drawn by a standard reinforcement learning algorithm in such a situation would
be that the performed sequence of actions does not lead to a successful shot, and little
(if anything) would be learned.
It is however possible to draw another conclusion, namely that this sequence of actions would
be successful if the net had been placed further to the right.
They have achieved this by storing and replaying previous experiences with different potential
goals.
As always, the details are available in the paper, make sure to have a look.
Now, it is always good to test things out whether the whole system works well in software,
however, its usefulness has been demonstrated by deploying it on a real robot arm.
You can see the goal written on the screen alongside with the results.
A really cool piece of work that can potentially open up new ways of thinking about reinforcement
learning.
After all, it's great to have learning algorithms that are so good, they can solve problems
that we formulate in such a lazy way that we'd have to be fired.

Where Are They Now? Everybody Loves Raymond Cast - Duration: 7:32.
Hello YouTube - Jim here!
That nasally voice.
His constant whining.
A complete lack of common sense.
Did everybody really love Raymond?
Well, that's actually not the question we came here to answer.
Rather, we're looking beyond the characters of the long-running sitcom Everybody Loves
Raymond, and have our sights set on the lads and lasses that portrayed the members of the
dysfunctional Barone family.
While you ponder what's so endearing about the youngest Barone brother, we'll bring
the cast back into the spotlight with this edition of Where Are They Now?Before we get
started, help us out by hitting that like button, and be sure to leave us a comment
because we're always looking to engage in interesting conversations with you!
Also, don't forget to click the bell so you get notified every time we put out a new video!
Peter Boyle – Frank Barone Boyle's career prior to Everybody Loves
Raymond was robust, filled with memorable roles like that of the monster in Young Frankenstein,
Joe Curran in Joe, and even an Emmy award winning role as Clyde Bruckman on The X-Files.
After Raymond's last episode, Boyle reprised his role as Father Time in The Santa Clause
3: The Escape Clause, but passed away later that year from multiple myeloma and heart
disease.
Just before his death, Boyle finished his final projects: The Shallow End of the Ocean,
My Profile Story, and All Roads Lead Home, all released posthumously.
Peter was laid to rest at Green River Cemetery in New York.
Doris Roberts – Marie Barone Since 1951, Doris Roberts graced the big screen,
small screen, and even the stage with her large personality and unquestionable talent.
After the finale of Everybody Loves Raymond, she left the role of overbearing mother-in-law
behind and continued to pop up in small roles on shows like Grey's Anatomy, Desperate
Housewives, and even alongside former co-star Patricia Heaton on The Middle.
In April of 2016, Roberts passed away from a stroke, but her career continued with posthumous
appearances in Zizi and Honeyboy, Adam Astra Casting, and The Red Maple Leaf.
She was laid to rest at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
Madylin Sweeten – Alexandra Barone After Raymond ended in 2005, the young Madylin's
career seemed to abruptly end until her appearance in the 2008 film, Eagle Eye… then it fell
silent again until an appearance in The Next Steps in 2013.
Since then, she's made TMZ headlines more times than any starlet would want after being
involved in a series of lawsuits, starting with one she filed against Bryan James, who,
she claims, conned her into investing in the internet soap Youthful Daze.. which turned
into James suing Sweeten in return.. because, well, being sued hurt his reputation.
Legal drama aside, Sweeten has popped up here and there, specifically in January of 2017
at the Pasadena Rose Parade and in a variety of shorts, including 2017's Catalyst and
Choice.
Sawyer Sweeten – Geoffrey Barone After leaving behind the life of the Barone
family, Sawyer Sweeten wasn't quick to pursue a fulfilling acting career.
For a decade, the young actor avoided any major press until his sudden death in 2015
from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
After his death, it was revealed Sawyer had been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder and the family had a history of depression.
Sullivan Sweeten – Michael Barone Not everyone from Everybody Loves Raymond
enjoyed years of success after the show's end.
In fact, aside from an appearance in 2017's short film Casting, spots on What Not to Wear
and the TV Land Awards, and coverage of his brother's death, Sullivan has remained largely
out of the spotlight.
Monica Horan – Amy MacDougall Though Amy didn't join the main cast until
its eighth season, she had ties to the Barone family since season one as Debra's best
friend.
Since her role on the long-running comedy ended, Monica, who is married to series'
producer, Philip Rosenthal, has added few credits to her career.
Beyond a reunion with her former co-star, Patricia Heaton, on The Middle, Horan appeared
on The Bold and the Beautiful, Pee-Wee's Big Holiday, Hot in Cleveland, and made headlines
in 2016 when spotted… dining at Buck's Fishing and Camping in Washington, D.C.?
Seriously… the Washington Post reported on it.
Brad Garrett – Robert Barone The "woe is me" attitude of Ray's older
brother, Robert, definitely didn't' carry over into Garrett's career or personal life.
Just look at his fiancé, IsaBeall Quella!
His extensive filmography has included dozens of voice overs, like in Tangled and Finding
Dory, multiple guest appearances, and starring roles on Fargo, 'Til Death, How to Live
with Your Parents, and The Crazy Ones.
In 2017, Garrett joined the cast of the TV movie The Get.
Seeing Brad Garrett today only requires a trip to Las Vegas to his self-titled comedy
club at the MGM Grand, at which he performs frequently.
Patricia Heaton – Debra Barone Like Garrett, Heaton's on-screen persona
of Debra Barone doesn't quite match up to the real-life actress.
For one, she doesn't seem to spend her days at home caring for triplets and fighting off
a passive-aggressive mother-in-law.
Her acting career has been pretty active since 2005, especially as her current sitcom, The
Middle, continues to garner success into its ninth season.
Heaton is also known for her culinary skills, which she enjoys touting with friends and
family on the Food Network's Patricia Heaton Parties.
In January of 2017, Heaton joined The OneLife LA rally in Los Angeles to speak out in support
of pro-life.
She's also very active on social media - so be sure to follower her on Instagram and Twitter
@PatriciaHeaton.
Ray Romano – Raymond Barone Though Romano likely could have taken his
Everybody Loves Raymond earnings and never worked another day in his life, the actor/comedian
kept at it, reprising his role as Manny in the Ice Age series in 2006, 2009, and 2012.
Since Raymond, Romano has starred in three separate series – Vinyl, Parenthood, and
Men of a Certain Age – has reunited with former on-screen wife, Heaton, on The Middle,
and starred in the 2017 films The Big Sick, Get Shorty, and Robert Klein Still Can't
Stop His Leg.
Off the big and small screens, Romano held a residency in Las Vegas with David Spade
at the Mirage and, like Monica Horan, garnered local attention in Queens for dining out with
family in March of 2017.

Everyday Expressions: PLAY IT BY EAR - English Vocabulary - Duration: 1:57.
Extra English Practice (mous e squeak)
Hi, everybody. We wanted to look at an Everyday Expression today.
So a very useful expression that people say all the time in English. Mm-hmm.
So the expression in this video is PLAY IT BY EAR which you maybe heard before in English.
It means you're going to wait and make a decision at the time.
So I'm not gonna decide right now, maybe I have a couple options, we'll see what happens.
PLAY IT BY EAR -- make my decision later.
Let's give you some examples. Mm-hmm.
Hey, Larissa, what are you gonna do this weekend?
Well, I was thinking about going to the zoo with my family, but, uh,
you never know how the weather's gonna be... I think we're just gonna play it by ear. Good idea.
Number two:
Hey, Misha, do you think we have time to make another video after this one?
Hmm, I'm not sure.. I don't know how long this one will take,
so maybe let's wait and just play it by ear. Yeah, sure.
Okay, number three:
Hey, Larissa, you wanna go out after work on Friday?
Yeah, I'd love to. Great, what do you think..should we go to out for wine or for a coffee?
Oh, I guess it depends how Friday goes... why don't we just play it by ear. That sounds good. Mm-hmm.
So, just to review, PLAY IT BY EAR means we're gonna wait and see..
I'm not sure which option is the best one yet.. as the day goes on, as a scenario plays out,
we will choose the best option. We'll wait and see. We'll play it by ear.
So give that a try with your English-speaking friends and see how it goes!
Extra English Practice
We good? Again? Can we do it again? Yeah, yeah, we can do it again..
