In the Federal Aviation Administration Act, there's dozens of terms defined

and there are actually terms that use common carrier in their definition.

Yet, Congress never defined the term "common carrier,"

which then left it to the FAA to define and subsequently redefine,

over the years, for itself what is the definition of a common carrier.

In 1986, the Federal Aviation Administration issues an advisory circular that sets out

what they believe to be the essential elements of a common carrier: that is someone who is

holding themselves out for transport from place to place for compensation.

The FAA has spent the last three decades redefining the term on the margins through legal interpretations.

So, someone will ask the FAA, "I want to do this thing. Does this make me a common carrier?"

And, the FAA will say, "Well, given these facts and these circumstances,

that may make you a common carrier."

Common carrier is not a new term, right?

You can go back 600 years and see courts grappling with the question of who is and is not a common carrier.

The Ferryman's case: a man agreed to transport another man's horse and the horse

died in transit, and courts are like, "Well, there was no contract, written contract, between them.

Where do the duties lie between these two and who's responsible for the death of the horse?"

And the courts basically said, "You know, there are certain duties for someone who holds

themselves out for transporting goods or people to the public for compensation."

The common law has provided us a set of defaults in the absence of a contract, right?

Courts have recognized that you can move from contract to common carrier and back and forth

depending on the nature of your relationship with the person you're contracting with.

The FAA doesn't see it that way.

The FAA has basically created a framework, and once someone moves into common carriage

they are treated very, very differently than if they weren't.

The FAA is, sort of, following its own, it's like ants marching, right?

It may be moving away from our common law understanding of what common carriage is,

but because it's, sort of, following in its own line and is not clearly erroneous from,

like, the interpretation before or the interpretation before, it's given deference and, as a result,

the FAA has been able to deviate quite far from our basic understanding of what a common carrier is.

Top Anti-Heroes in SFF - Duration: 10:43.

Hey! What's up, you guys? It's Connor, and today I'm here to do a BookTubeSFF babbles

topic. If you guys don't know, these babbles topics are just different

discussions about different things science fiction and fantasy. Today we are

talking about anti-heroes. Anti-heroes are characters that they do good things

but not for morally correct reasons. They're not the best people, but then

they get sucked into doing the right thing sometimes for the wrong reasons. Or

they can just be straight up not good characters, but they're the ones that you

follow. And so we empathize with their side of the story, and we root for them

anyway. I have 10 books here to show you guys, so

let's just get started. First up is The Red Knight from The Red

Knight by Miles Cameron. The Red Knight is the captain of a group of mercenaries,

and they are hired by an abbess to protect their fortress from the wild

which is different types of mythological creatures that are attacking their home.

I just really enjoyed this book when I read it. I don't know why I have not

continued yet. The Red Knight and his mercenaries are super funny, and they

aren't the greatest of people. But because they're interacting with a very

morally upstanding abbess, they slowly over time start to change a little bit,

and they start treating people better. And then they actually start caring

about this fortress that they are protecting and do everything that they

can to help this abbess out. I think that the Red Knight is a super interesting

anti-hero, and I definitely recommend this one. Next up is Luffy from One Piece.

Luffy wants to be the king of the pirates which is not a very morally

upstanding goal to have in mind. When he was younger, he met a pirate, and because

of that pirate, he wants to be a pirate too. He steals from people, and he fights

people. And he doesn't do the greatest of things, but then he always ends up

helping people as well because he's not a bad guy... but he wants to be a pirate

which is a bad thing. I just really enjoy the One Piece manga series. I haven't

gotten too far into it, but so far I'm really enjoying Luffy and his pirate

crew. Here is some of the artwork. It's not the most detailed artwork in the world, but

you cannot help but root for Luffy and the people that he ends up recruiting

for his pirate crew. And they always ends up fighting these people and helping

other people out like this little boy here. Next up is

Miriam from the Miriam Black series by Chuck Wendig. This is the first book

Blackbirds. It follows Miriam. Once she touches

someone, she knows exactly when and how they're going to die, and she uses this

ability to steal from people continuously. She hunts down people that

she deems aren't worth keeping their money and goods, and she will be there

and be present for when they die so that she can steal from their bodies which

obviously is not a very moral thing to do. But you cannot help but root for her.

She has this very devastating ability that which gives her really terrible

visions of people being murdered, or people being hit by cars, or people

taking their own lives. She sees everyone's death, so that's had a big

impact on her mentally. The people that she goes after are bad people so people

that have done bad things in the past or people that are murderers or stuff like

that. It all changes when she touches someone

who she sees that she is gonna be present for their death, but she deems

that they're a good person. So she knows that she's not gonna be the one that

helps kill them. It's a very, very interesting novel. I really love Chuck

Wendig's writing. It's just very engrossing and very fast-paced. Because

Miriam is so fatalistic and pessimistic, it's a very funny look on everything

that's happening. I definitely enjoyed Miriam as an antihero. Next up is Jedao

from Ninefox Gambit by Yoon Ha Lee. I read this book last year. and I did a book

review for this if you want to know more about the world set up because it's

quite confusing. I'll leave that up in the card symbol. But it follows this girl

that's a part of this one section of society, but she was so smart that she

could have been in a couple of different sections. But she chose this one on

purpose. The military force of this world this society ends up needing her to host

the spirit of a dead traitor. He's done awful, awful things in the past, but I

really enjoyed seeing him interact with Charis who's the main character. I viewed

Jedao as an antihero because you don't really know if he's nuts or not. What are

his motivations? Why does he choose to do high-cost alternatives when he could

have done this and more people would have lived kind of thing? What is his

true end game, I guess really? So I enjoyed him a lot,

and he does good things. But he doesn't do them in the best way possible.

Yeah, definitely recommend reading about Jedao

because he is very interesting. Next up is Light Yagami from The Death Note

manga series by Tsugumi Oba and Takeshi Obata. Light Yagami is a young boy. He

finds this thing called The Death Note, and if you write someone's name in the

Death Note, they are going to die. If you don't specify anything, they just die of

a heart attack. Light comes into possession of this Death Note and

decides he wants to make a better world, and he starts killing off tons and tons

and tons of criminals. Throughout the course of the novel <text: manga series*> people are trying to

find out who is doing all these killings, how they're doing them, and how to stop

them. Light is trying to stay anonymous and kill off the criminals continuously. He's

definitely an anti-hero because he's trying to make a better world but he is

murdering tons of people. It is a very interesting manga. It's very suspenseful

because you don't know if he's gonna get caught. When he's gonna get caught?

What's gonna happen if he gets caught? All of those different things: who he's

gonna kill, who he's not gonna kill. You have no idea, and he teams up with a

death God to accomplish all of these things. After that is Prince Zuko from

Avatar: The Last Airbender I love Prince Zuko. He has one of the best redemption

arcs ever. He starts off as this guy who's trying to hunt down the avatar, and

then he starts to realize that the Fire Nation isn't the best place to be from

and their way of thinking is not the greatest. I just loved Prince Zuko's

character. I enjoyed him in the cartoon. I'm enjoying him in the comics. He has

the ability to control fire. If you guys don't know what Avatar is, I'm shocked.

But there are four different elements that people are able to control: air, fire,

earth and water. And Prince Zuko is from the Fire Nation. He is able to control

fire, and I just enjoy reading about him as a character so much. After that I put

the Six of Crows crew on here especially Kaz... actually all of them. Each of them

has a reason for being in this thieving, heisting group, and I think that each

of them are very interesting characters. Some are more interesting than others. I

think Kaz is probably one of the more interesting characters, and Nina is

definitely my favorite character in their little group. But they all make

their living by stealing things from other people and cheating people out of

their possessions. All have different vibes to them, and so it makes the book

really entertaining. This one follows them as they're

trying to steal the source of a formula from these other people. It just so

happens that that source of the formula is another person, and I just really

enjoyed this duology. Naturally it follows that I would have the Mistborn

crew on here as well led by Kelsier who is the greatest. All

the members of Kelsier's crew also are thieves and they cheat people out of

their money as well. So a similar vibe to Six of Crows but instead of trying to

steal this formula for this other person that hired them, Kelsier and his crew

decided that they want to take down the government and kill off the leader

that's been controlling this world for generations and generations. Kelsier was

such an interesting anti-hero because he's doing it for revenge. Like, he does

not care as much about freeing this world from this evil lord ruler. He is

doing it because he was thrown in these pits which are basically like a prison.

It's a death sentence really, but he survives. His wife unfortunately did not.

So he is taking revenge for his wife's death, and he wants to kill the Lord

Ruler. That's his motivation. It's not to save all of the skaa who have been

treated like trash, He was himself wronged by this person,

and he wants to get back at him and kill him. All of the other people also have

different motivations. They all think that they're gonna get some big rich

cache of a rare metal that is found in this world, and that is why they're doing

it. They're not doing it to save society They're not doing it to help the world. They're

doing it because they want to get money or they want to get revenge, and then as

the story goes along, it changes a little bit. But that was the seed of motivation

of each of these characters, and so they're definitely anti-heroes. And you

guys know how much I absolutely love this book. And I wrote out notes to do a

huge, long review and discussion of this book, but I never did it. So hopefully

this year sometime I might reread this book again and actually do that review.

Second to the last book is gonna be Curse Words. This one follows this wizard

who is an evil wizard, and he gets sent to Earth to destroy it. But then once he's

here, he decides that he likes it better on Earth than he did on his home planet.

He decides that he is gonna become a wizard for hire,

and he wants to protect Earth. Obviously the people that sent him are not gonna

love that, and so he has to continuously protect Earth from the people that sent

him to earth to keep them from destroying it. This is so funny because

he is a villain, so he's not good at doing superhero/ good guy stuff. So

the way that he saves people is that he shrinks them, and then he can't figure

out how to make them large again. So then he kind of just hides him away, and it's

just really funny. And I enjoy his talking koala. I have not read volume two yet.

I'm not sure if it's out yet, but I definitely recommend this one because it

is so humorous. And the last anti-heroes that I'm going to talk about for this

video are going to be Locke Lamora and his crew from the Lies of Locke Lamora

AKA The Gentleman Bastards. Locke is definitely one of my favorite

anti-heroes. He's compared to a Robin Hood-like character where he steals from

the rich, but he's not really Robin Hood because then he doesn't give to the poor.

He just steals from the rich and then keeps all the money, and his crew just

acquires more and more wealth. And then they can use that wealth to get better

costumes and better props so that they can steal more. They worship this unnamed

13th god, I believe. I don't know what number it is,

but it's the unnamed or the unknown. <text: Nameless*> I can't remember now, but it's the god that

doesn't have a name. But it's just a very interesting story, and you have no idea

how it's all gonna come together at the end. But then it always ends up coming

together. Locke and Jean are, like, the greatest. I just love it so much. So those

are all the anti-heroes I'm going to talk about in this video. If you liked it,

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - S02E42 - Episode Review - Duration: 5:09.

Welcome to Ranger Reviews, a webseries where we look at episodes of the tv show, Power

Rangers and then discuss it!

Today, we're exploring the hundred and second episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as

well as the forty second episode of Season 2, titled "The Wedding Part 2".

We begin this episode right where we left off with the Rangers in the theater, surrounded

without their weapons or teleportation capabilities.

Billy suggests they split up and try to wear the monsters down, so they divided into three

groups of two, fighting the monsters to the best of their abilities.

Oh, and now Robogoat is with these monsters, too.

This a pretty cool fight, to be honest!

Alpha is happy to see the Rangers failing on the viewing globe, and Zordon tries to

reason with him again.

Alpha even says that the Rangers get all the glory, but he wants it.

Weird note to hit, but okay.

Rita is also watching Zedd sleep, rehashing the same thing from last time.

The Rangers are still fighting the monsters in the theater, and Aisha gets tossed off

a balcony by Eyeguy.

The monsters say that the Power Rangers are Rita's wedding gift to Zedd, cluing the

Rangers in on what's going on.

Kim says that they should go for some random hidden stairwell they saw before.

Rita wakes up Zedd with a feather, and Zedd is madly in love with her.

He immediately proposes, and Rita accepts.

Zedd requests Goldar, and Goldar just yells "what?!", and Baboo and Squatt are just

peeping toms watching this happen.

Goldar is the best man, and he's in charge of coordinating the wedding.

Meanwhile, the six Rangers are walking down a staircase, and we see Robogoat and now Snizzard

talking about how Peckster sucks, and he's the one that let them get away.

The Rangers are still walking around, and they run into the two, and they turn and run.

This isn't the content I came for, Power Rangers.

Rita yells at Finster to make monsters quicker so that she has guests for her wedding.

She also demands presents.

Alpha also sees that Bulk and Skull are in Australia, and they run into Kim's bags

that she threw down before they morphed out.

Alpha decides to teleport them to the outback, and they're now in entirely different attire.

They start freaking out because they see kangaroos off screen, and then they run into emus, freaking

out.

What IS this episode?

Once more, Rita and Zedd talk about getting married.

There's literally nothing happening in this episode, and it's almost impressive.

She tells Zedd about how the Rangers are trapped in the theater.

Goldar also wants to get rid of Rita.

Again, at the theater, the Rangers find a lower level staircase, and Billy suggests

that it's the way out they've been looking for, and they find daylight, running out into

it.

Meanwhile, Zedd and Rita have changed positions, and Finster comes in saying that the Rangers

have escaped from the theater.

Rita suggests he just make the monsters grow, which he does right away, resulting in Rhinoblaster

and Peckster just catching bombs in their hands in the most comedic ways.

Zordon tells Alpha to stop sucking so that they can call out the Zords, and Alpha somehow

removes Zordon completely from the tube.

The core five Rangers call out their Thunderzords SOMEHOW, forming the Thunder Megazord while

Tommy calls out the White Tigerzord, climbing aboard and converting it into Warrior Mode.

There's a super rough Megazord battle between the two Megazords and giant Peckster and Rhinoblaster

because they're really struggling to splice this old footage with other stock footage.

Saba then tells Tommy to use the White Tiger Thunderbolt, which he does, hitting Peckster.

Long story short, this Megazord battle is still going on as they try to pad this episode

out to 20 minutes.

Alpha breaks off the Rangers' power supplies, and now they can't control the Zords at

all, taking numerous hits from Rhinoblaster and Peckster, and the Rangers emergency eject.

Alpha then teleports them back to the theater because god forbid this episode end somewhere

differently from where we started.

Rita is getting ready for her wedding, telling Finster to have two monsters and putties go

down to the theater while the rest need to attend her wedding.

Meanwhile, the Rangers sit on the theater stairs while Billy tries to get in contact

with Alpha and Zordon.

What a surreal sight.

Anyways, Lord Zedd's and Rita's wedding is pretty much set up as Goldar laments this

marriage.

Zedd demands the guests to come in, and Goldar calls for them as they start to come in with

gifts We also see the cake with Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd action figures atop it.

Rhinoblaster and Peckster appear before the Rangers then disappear saying that they'll

be outside the door if they need them.

What is happening?!

Whatever, to be continued.

Every fiber of my being is telling me to hate this episode because literally nothing happens

in it.

There's just a lot of padding for time, and it's complete filler.

Even then, I have to say, I kind of admire how lazy this episode was.

Like, there's so much going on yet there's nothing going on at the same time.

The writers are clearly struggling to make this episode work as an additional part, so

they're doing anything they can to make it as long as possible.

I applaud them for this, and I realize that writing an episode like this is no easy task,

no matter how it looks.

Hey, everybody, what's up it's Kristina and welcome back to my channel.

Today's video is going to be a grammar video of sorts to help you learn and understand

the difference between the words "would" and "will".

Now, I've actually enlisted the help of my special assistant, who we'll call Sarah,

and Sarah is going to help me help you understand the difference between these two words in

a special little clip that we've compiled especially for you guys.

What's going to happen is that basically Sarah and I are going to talk about this amazing

business that we both want to start, although one of us is making a few more plans while

the other one is speaking a bit more hypothetically and maybe not making so many plans.

I'll let you guess who.

So, without further ado, let's get this party started.

Oh, my God, this is so exciting.

Do you think this will really work?

Oh, my God, I know if it actually worked, it would be amazing.

so today...

It's a sad day, kind of

because Esther is going back to Sydney today

she has an evening flight

She is packing right now

and getting ready to leave

Before she leaves,

since she told me she can't have Korean food that often,

and since she is taking a plane,

I will make mild Korean food

During her stay

I asked which food she misses the most from mom

and she told me she liked Pajeon(scallion pancake),

also Hobakjeon(zucchini pancake)

and also...potato stew!(gamja jorim, sweet soy sauce potato stew)

So today, I'll make Pajeon,

Gamjajorim(sweet potato stew)

I actually made dwenjangjjigae (soy paste stew) few days ago

and been reheating it over and over lol

I'll add more water to make it like dwenjang-guk(soy paste soup)

with steamed rice

and then..we'll eat and go!

*Gamjajorim: I used 2 big potatoes, chop them in big chunks and pre-boiled them*

*Chopped 1/2 of onion*

This is for the Gamjajorim!

*For Pajeon: 4 scallions*

*Also for gamjajorim: 1/2 of leek*

Gabie: ummmm...no?

so I'm just using all-pupose flour, because they only have that around the corner

1/2 teaspoon of cornflour..

My grandma used to add preserved salted small shrimp as well

So I'm adding a bit of that

and now you mix!

bit of black pepper

a tiny bit of curry powder!

Done with Pajeon!

Now we are mixing eggs

This is for the Egg roll

bit of salt

Gotta be savory!

I'm gonna add a bit of plum syrup

I'm gonna add minced onion...

No, I mean, minced carrots!

A handful of that

This is for the gamjajorim

potatoes are done

Gonna drizzle some oil,

gonna stir fry the uncooked veggies,

then add the potatoes and make the stew

*Stir fry leek, onion and carrots*

Just added leek, onions and carrots

*then add a bit of mushroom*

*Add the boiled potatoes*

Add 1/2Tbsp of minced garlic

Then add 4Tsp of soy sauce. But don't mind me, I'm guessing all the measurements!

Bit of syrup

a big spoonful of it!

Then add 1 Tbsp of plum syrup

Bit of black pepper

then lower the heat

Now I'm making pajeon

Now I'm gonna make the egg roll. I'm a bit nervous!!!

We're going to gate B to check-in the luggage

We came here super early

so we have like 2 hours...more than 2 hours!!

There wasn't any queue because we were here super early

and so we have 2hours and 10 minutes still!!

So since we got loads of time,

we're gonna go to a cafe

drink something

and talk serious stuffs

and then she'll leave!

13 Times Introverts Just Want to Stay Home

You never expect that introverts actually really love staying at home more than anything.

Of course, they will go outside sometimes.

However, there are some times when they want to stay at home despite of their needs to

go outside.

Here is some of them.

When they are asked to hang out now Introverts do not like surprising schedule.

They only want to go outside when they are ready.

They basically need to prepare their mental bravery before they can go outside especially

with large groups.

When there is additional person They cannot just stand with too many people.

Again, if you suddenly add one person in the group, the introverts will think twice before

they can go.

They prefer to stay at home instead of going out.

After a tedious work Introverts who work in the office are not

only exhausted because of the work.

They are also exhausted because of meeting people especially those they don't like.

This combination is perfect to choose staying at home instead.

When party with co-workers Working environment usually consists many

people, and they can be overwhelming for you.

Even though you may get some benefits such as being able to talk casually will your boss,

you will choose staying at home instead.

After hanging out in the other day Hanging out with a friend is fun for some

people.

However, introverted people see the world differently, and they just cannot stand for

multiple trips with friend without break.

Small talk Introverts, despite of their willingness to

talk sometimes, they actually do not like small talks.

They want deep, meaningful conversation to understand others.

Your favorite TV shows are on air Well, you just cannot be spoiled about the

new episodes of TV series you like to watch.

That is why it is no wonder why you just want to stay home to watch it.

YOLO Introverts do not like to take risks, and

they just do not want to go outside to do something that risks their life.

Over drinking, skydiving, and any other tough exercise should be left out.

Long exposure of crowd Sometimes introverts really can play around

with crowds.

However, there are some point when they are totally exhausted.

A trap Introverts can be trapped in a lengthy conversation

when they meet someone who talks a lot.

It is a big problem for introverts, and that is why they prefer staying at home.

Introvert hangover When you start feeling exhausted, you probably

just need to take a break and stay at home.

No privacy Even though introverts are in the public place,

they still want to avoid crowd as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, they notice that some places cannot provide such luxuries, making them

think twice before going.

applies to introverts.

They want their activities meaningful and enjoyable.

If you are asking them to go to boring event, they prefer staying home.
