Hi everyone, welcome to My Green Closet today I have another closet tour for you guys
If you haven't seen the first episode with Kestrel this is a new
series I'm doing on the channel where we're getting a peek into different
people's wardrobes and learning about how they approach conscious fashion and
today my guest is Mia from the blog heylilahey she's one of the conscious
bloggers I've met here in Germany and she's so lovely and has a really great style
so I'm excited to get a peek into her wardrobe and learn about some of her
favorite pieces, let's take a look! Thank you so much again for asking me to
do this interview I hope my English is okay
One item that really represents my personal style
is definitely a white boho blouse the question wasn't even really
hard because it's part of my outfit uniform. When I don't know what to wear I usually
wear black skinny jeans and a white, flowy nice boho blouse, in a bohemian style with
a little bit of details for example lace or here the sleeves have really nice details
I actually think I got the idea of outfit uniforms from big
designers such as Karl Lagerfeld or Vivienne Westwood
would tend to stick to one look actually always and I really like it
For me it really means to follow
four steps before buying something actually. So first I really want to
think about it, like do I really need it? Do I really want to buy it? Will it be
not in season anymore next summer? That not also be great. The next step is
could I maybe borrow it from someone? From a friend or maybe a company.
The next step is could I get a second hand somewhere? In the second hand shop is it
easy to find second hand or in a vintage shop and the fourth step would be to
buy something new and I really only look for fair fashion companies right now,
ethical fashion companies, and I always found what I wanted until now, it's not always been
easy but yeah it's also kind of fun to research a lot something I recently
bought in terms of fashion was this hat that I found in a secondhand shop and I
know this is really on trend right now and I saw it everywhere I think
Instagram and Pinterest I always save outfit inspiration and a
lot of these inspirations where with a hat like that with a similar one but I
didn't want to buy a new one. I also didn't know really where to get it
ethically produced or fair fashion as we say in Germany, so I thought a lot about
it I think several weeks I looked on Etsy if I would find maybe a hand-made one
but it wasn't so easy, then in a secondhand shop I found it and
it fit me perfectly and it wasn't too expensive and I think it's a classic
they would never really go out of style
and I want to be really honest about a garment that I had for a
long time and don't want to get rid of I actually have some non-ethical shoes that
about ages ago for example these winter boots, I don't even know the brand it's
not a very well-known brand it's not Ugg boots or so but they're very similar
obviously and they're not ethically produced or vegan or sustainable or
anything but I don't want to give them away they're really great they're really
warm in winter and if I wouldn't have a similar pair I probably would get one
vegan, there are a few options out there right now but I don't want to swap it because
it's such a good item to have, such a good staple and I don't think throwing
things like that out just have ethical conscious wardrobe really makes sense
so these I will probably have forever because they're really good quality and
I treat them pretty well I think at least I try to
yeah those will always stay in my closet I think it's very cold in Germany so you
need really good shoes
So I have one dress that has a really great story I'm gonna put it in because
holding it up wouldn't do it justice it's a really really great dress by
the Reformation and I got it for a black tie wedding in New York and I had to be
really really chic I had to be super chic the dress code was pretty strict but I
didn't want to buy anything non-ethical or unsustainable so I either wanted to
buy secondhand or from an ethical fashion brand but that wasn't really easy
and I asked around, I asked my community, asked friends if they know any brands
who have a dress, a black dress to be precise that is long, chic and fits with
the New York black-tie wedding dress code I looked everywhere online and
stores as I said I asked friends then I found this black Reformation dress
online in a secondhand online boutique in the states and as we were going to
state anyway to my boyfriend's parents I ordered it and I was really happy that
I found something cause it was really proud to share on the blog that I found
something, took me quite a long time to find it, the other option was to
rent something but as I was not living in the States just visiting it was a bit
hard to find something to rent. You know if the size doesn't fit so you have
to send it back, anyway this was the best option for me and I was super happy I
found it and the wedding was amazing and we danced a lot and the dress was amazing
I felt really great, being chic and having done a conscious purchase at the same time
What outfit makes me feel really good?
I think this answer is really easy because as I mentioned before I have kind of an
outfit uniform when I don't know what to wear I wear a white blouse and black
skinny jeans and I just feel really comfortable in it because I can dress it up or
down either with a cardigan, or with a blazer or in terms of shoes I can
wear sneakers or high heels and therefore it fits nearly every
occasion like nearly every event I'm invited to as a blogger it fits so it's
an amazing outfit when I don't know what to wear and I just have to throw
something on in the morning or for an event and I feel really really
comfortable in it the loose blouses I don't know give me
like a free-feeling I think and also a bit stylish but also not too
chic and black skinny jeans always look good I think
My tip would be, that's just my advice
you don't have to follow it, is to do something like a shopping ban so
don't shop or consume fashion and beauty products for a certain period, I did it
for six months and it really helped me to afterwards shop more consciously to
think about my purchases and look for ethical fashion brands and really have
the patience to research and look for things because it gave me some sort of
reset I think you could say and it really helped me to change my
consumerism to a more sustainable and conscious way.

mayor alta tasa de personalización para

- We are at Social Media Marketing World,
and this is our staff training. We're gonna spend
a little time talking to the staff. That's my cue!
(LIGHT MOOD MUSIC)
- [Speaker] This is kind of shocking
that a company, as small as we are, is capable
of building something this big. That's having
this kind of an impact on the world. We have 4,100
people coming from 64 different countries.
And we have another 2,000 people that are
attending from all over the world, that can not
physically be here, but are attending virtually.
So, as of today we have 6,100 people that have
invested in this conference.
(LIGHT MOOD MUSIC)
- [Speaker] People that are at this conference
are exactly the same as you. They're all here
for a purpose. They all have the dream.
- [Speaker] Our job is to make them feel
special. Our job is to have them state from
the moment they walk in the front door, 'there's
something different about this place.'
It's not the awesome building, it's got something
to do with the people.
(LIGHT MOOD MUSIC)
- [Speaker] We have a goal, we're gonna sell
one thousand tickets to the 2019 conference.
Or we want a 1,000 of them to buy their ticket
on the spot. Which means 25% are gonna come back.
- [Group] (CHEERING)
- [Speaker] That is our goal.
And you guys are the reason why.
Folks this is our networking plaza for 2018.
- [Group] (CHEERING)
- It's hard to envision what it's gonna be like,
but it's gonna be completely transformed.
Next year this is going to be a physically
larger space. We're gonna add 250,000 square feet,
down stairs. We will have two thirds
of the Santiago Convention Centre dedicated
to this conference, next year. Eventually, we'll
takeover the whole Convention Centre.
- [Group] (CHEERING)

- This is just the registration area. So, have
a look-see. How cool. When I said get creative
in this space, they really did.

Once you're sitting on them you're like (INAUDIBLE)
Earlier we were in training, with like
200 people, and something crazy happened. We had
a fire-drill. So we made it into a selfie-moment.

- Well, our hashtag is wrong for our Conference Guide.
- Look what it says,
'SMM18', but it should say 'SMMW18'. This was
brought to my attention, and I just said,
"Oh, well!" We'll just have our events team
monitor both hashtags.

- No! No. Who needs stickers?
Hold on, my phone's going off. Oh, it says
I need to be in Live Stage production
review meeting.
This my friends is where the key-note
is going to be.

a 1,000 people gathered for a kind of pre-unofficial
meet-up. Unfortunately, I think, I'm starting
to lose my voice. So, I have to be very careful,
but I'm very excited, and for those of you
that are here, awesome! For those of you
that aren't here, maybe next year.
We are here at Social Media Marketing World.
This is just the check-in area, and we'll just do
kinda one of these things, and we'll go
in a circle. Just to show you how amazingly
cool this place is, but this is just
people checking in. What you're experiencing here
is just the tip of a very-very big iceberg.

This is super exciting. Well this is your vision. Right?

- Mike came up with this vision and came to me
and said, (ANIMATED VOICE) "Joel, I have a dream".
He says, "I saw this incredible thing
at Star Wars celebration, and I want to bring this
to Social Media Marketing. I see a live stage,
with a parade of our speakers." And I said lets
turn it into kinda like a 'Tonight's show'
type format, with a set. And we could
have performers, and we could do these interviews.
It will be high energy, and we stream this thing
out to the world, for all those people that aren't
at Social Media Marketing World, which is about 7 billion of them.
- They gonna have a big fear of missing out.
- Right, and their gonna wanna
get a ticket for next year. The key note stage,
tomorrow morning, is when all the attendees are
gonna discover that this thing is even happening.
We've done a great job of keeping it super hush-hush.
- This is gonna be kick-butt, man.
- Dude, can't wait. - This is so cool.
The journey continues.
This is the first testing of my voice. On Thursday
morning, I have to present this morning, and what
I wanna do is protect my voice. And I can already
tell...
