March Mystery Madness - Duration: 6:08.
Hey guys. Today we're gonna talk about March mystery madness.
Hi, guys. I'm Beth.
Welcome to Read Remark. March is a wonderful month because several
wonderful booktubers are hosting a challenge called March mystery madness.
You can check it out over on Instagram by looking for the hashtag
#MarchMysteryMadness
or you can also look for it here on YouTube by searching, of course,
March mystery madness. No mystery there. You know exactly how to find it. For the
March mystery madness book tube challenge, there are six different targets we're
supposed to hit. We can do whatever we want with those targets. And so those are:
shelf, borrowed, new, historical, foreign, and opposite.
So for my March Mystery Madness
video I'm gonna switch things up a little bit and, instead of straight up
going through the books that I would recommend for each of those targets, I am
going to make you guess what they are, quiz style. That's right! I am presenting
a mystery to you today. Woo!
Alright, so for "shelf" I am going to show you this
book with no author or title. Based on just the book cover alone, you need to
figure out which book this is. I'm gonna give you a couple of hints. Mannerly. Max.
DeWinter. Alright, did you figure it out? It is...
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.
This is the lovely book about a second wife who is living in the shadow of the
first wife and not doing it very successfully. It's a wonderful mystery, a
classic mystery written by Daphne du Laurier. Okay so now for "borrowed,"
name this book.
This woman took horrible, horrible revenge after figuring out that
her husband was *borrowing* some other lady outside of their marriage to
fulfill his, err, needs. Which book is it?
Here's a hint. It was made into a movie.
Here's another hint. Every mystery with a conniving woman afterwards has been
compared to it. Did you figure it out?
It's Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
Yes, Gone Girl. The book that everyone has read and by which every book thereafter
has been compared.
Alright on to question number three, "new." This new book was
recently published and has been compared a lot to Hitchcock's Rear Window.
Which book is it?
Here's a hint. It also has the word "window" in the title.
I think I probably gave it away by now. It is...
The Woman in the Window by AJ Finn.
This is a book with an agoraphobic woman who
watches the neighborhood through the
confines of her own window and thinks that she sees a crime that has been
committed. But she is a very unreliable narrator. So who do we believe?
It's a mystery!
For the "historical" entry, guess which book this is.
Murder happens on
this train full of really interesting odd characters, international interesting
odd characters, during this transcontinental transportation by train.
What is it?
Here's a hint.
It was recently made into a movie that
did moderately well at the box office. That's right! It was ...
Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie.
For the "foreign" entry I present to you a trilogy
of foreign books. It includes a girl who has gotten herself into all sorts of
wacky situations, including obtaining reptilian body art, abusing a hornet's
habitat, and possible arson. So who is it?
You probably guessed as soon as I said
it was a trilogy and foreign. It is...
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy written by Stieg Larsson.
Alright this next one is "opposite" and it's a little
bit of a stretch because I don't know if it was as wildly popular
as some of these other books, but still a highly recommended read that I liked
very much.
Which book is this:
It features twins who are quite opposite.
They're very opposite from each other temperamentally, but they have enough
similar circumstances that they are able to share an understanding. When one
twin dies and leaves a scavenger hunt note for her twin sister, the twin
sister knows immediately that something is up and the twin's death is not all it
was made out to be.
Which book is it?
It involves notes, obviously. It involves a
dead person, obviously. It is...
Dead Letters by Caite Dolan Leach.
Very good book.
Ok, so hopefully this format wasn't too annoying.
Hopefully you were able to get at least a couple right, because if you didn't get
any right then it means that my clue giving skills suck. So don't blame yourself.
It's me.
Thanks for watching. Thanks for bearing with me.
And enjoy March mystery madness month.
I encourage you to seek out other book tubers, check out what
they're doing, and go read you a bunch of mysteries.
Don't forget to like, subscribe,
all of that good stuff, and I will catch you next time.
Thanks for watching. Bye! :)

basically millennial mentors is all about teaching people creative digital
and business skills also in production just growing and learning from all these
different situations so I hopefully I can then take that into my own kind of
life if I wouldn't start my own business because I've got these skills that I've
learned from working in the team working on these big productions knowing how
things run whether it's the budget whether it's known logistics announcer

Who is competing with Uber? | CNBC Explains - Duration: 4:56.
On just about any continent in the world, you can open up the Uber app and
probably find a driver nearby. What started as a Silicon Valley startup
has now turned into a global company worth tens of billions of dollars.
But Uber has competition across the globe - and it's fierce.
It may come as a surprise to some that Uber loses money - a lot of it.
Uber lost $4.5 billion in 2017 and $2.8 billion the year before.
On the surface, Uber seems like a fairly simple software
in the form of an app which simply connects a driver and a passenger.
But underneath the surface, the company is losing a lot of cash.
But Uber's okay with that - with its CEO saying:
Heavy losses are necessary to establish itself in new places.
Take Southeast Asia for instance.
Uber aggressively spent money on advertisements,
partnerships with taxi companies and regularly subsidized fares.
To encourage more drivers on the road, Uber started its own rental car business
in Singapore under the name Lion City Rentals.
And because of subsidies, renting a car from here can be cheaper than hiring
from rental-car companies like Hertz or Avis.
It's no wonder then why Uber's losing so much money,
but who are the global players forcing it into the red?
Let's take a look at some of the biggest ones.
Didi Chuxing is China's biggest ride-sharing service.
And given China's population is a massive 1.4 billion people,
Didi is also considered the world's largest ride-sharing service.
Uber fought hard in China for three years,
burning through $1 billion a year to stay in the game.
And in 2016, Didi finally purchased Uber's China operations.
Uber would take a nearly 18% stake in Didi.
It's a move that seems to be paying off.
At the beginning of 2018, Didi briefly passed Uber,
becoming the world's most valuable start-up.
Uber may have given up its fight in the world's most populous country,
but it's still pushing ahead in the world's second biggest, India.
India's home competitor is Ola, which was launched in 2010.
Today, it has more than one million drivers across 110 cities.
That's far more than Uber's 450,000 drivers across 31 cities.
But Uber is staying put, saying business is stronger than ever.
Back on Uber's home turf is Lyft, which has been profiting from recent Uber controversy.
Lyft recently reported it has doubled its rides in 2017,
a year that started with the #DeleteUber campaign.
Uber's CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, even admitted late last year that the U.S. market
has become unprofitable because of competition from Lyft,
and will stay that way for at the least six months.
But the battle is far from over. Uber is still America's number one
travel app, with Lyft following close behind at number two.
In Indonesia, the world's fourth largest country, is GoJek.
Its fleet now includes more than 400,000 cars, and motorbikes,
which are common throughout Southeast Asia.
In Southeast Asia, which boasts a total population of more than 600 million, is Grab.
Grab was started in Malaysia in 2012, with just 10 employees.
Now, with headquarters in Singapore, it has more than 3,000 employees
and claims four million daily bookings.
While those are some of the biggest players, you've also got
99 in Brazil, Yandex in Russia, BlaBlaCar in Europe and Careem in the Middle East.
And recently, company deals among the players have made the landscape pretty convoluted.
For example, Didi in China outright acquired Brazil's ride-sharing app 99
in an effort to expand in Latin America.
So, one of Brazil's largest ride-sharing apps 99 is competing with Uber in Brazil,
yet 99 is owned by Didi, who actually bought Uber in China.
If that seems confusing, well, you're right.
But that's just one example of where the line becomes blurred over
who's a friend and who's a foe for Uber.
Even though Didi bought Uber in China, Didi also invested in Careem in the Middle East
and Grab in Southeast Asia - both of which competed against Uber.
Then there's Softbank - the massive Japanese conglomerate.
The company has invested billions of dollars in Didi, Grab, Ola and 99.
For awhile it seemed like Softbank's strategy
was to invest in Uber's competitors around the world.
But in January, Softbank secured about a 15% stake in Uber
with an additional investment of $1.25 billion.
It's kind of like hedging your bets. No matter which companies win or lose,
Softbank has set itself up to win a piece of the pie, no matter what.

Lil Yachty: BEST Verses - Duration: 6:49.
Hey guys, this is CDTVProductions and welcome to a new episode of Best Verses on Lil Rhubarb
Hair.
Now Lil Tomato Dreads is a rapper I have mixed feelings on because I loved the first Lil
Boat tape, but I felt much less warm towards the second one.
However, he still does have some verses that are actually pretty good.
So with that being said, this is CDTVProductions and let's get right into the video.
Clip: Lil Yachty "For Hot 97" (Verse 1)
Now most of the time I hate when Yachty tries to make a hard ass rapping track, but he does
a good enough job here that I like it.
It has a decent story behind it too.
This verse came after Yachty did a kinda funny but also awkward freestyle on Hot 97, which
led to the hosts there having a conversation with him about how his bars aren't the best.
Yachty admitted in that interview he doesn't take rapping seriously, even though he seems
to want to prove the opposite here, but nonetheless he put out this track.
Yeah the bars aren't amazing here, but they're alright and there's less cringe worthy lines
than usual.
Nothing on the level of "she blow that dick like a cello".
Not to mention his flow is solid here, it's usually awkward and stilted when he tries
to rap, so I appreciate that it was smoother here.
Also whilst we're talking about it, I've seen Tech N9ne take shots at Hot 97 recently,
so I wonder if this is gonna become more of a thing.
Clip: Calvin Harris "Faking It (feat.
Lil Yachty & Kehlani)" (Verse 3)
Interestingly, these are the types of songs I like Yachty on, for the most part.
Recently he's been doing pretty well on these more poppy, mainstream songs, and he
brings a ridiculously catchy verse for this collab with Calvin Harris and Kehlani.
His flow just runs perfectly on the bounce of the instrumental, and I was surprised by
how on point the flow was here.
Hell, I think Kehlani is a fantastic singer, and does really well on here, and I still
mainly listen to this track for Lil Boat.
It's got a little bit of emotion behind it, and Yachty shows his goofy charm on this
track which is what he does best.
Really enjoyed this verse a lot.
One of my favourites on here.
Clip: Post Malone "Monta (feat.
Lil Yachty)" (Verse 2)
This is such a feel good verse and I absolutely love it.
Yachty comes with some incredibly dope melodies here, possibly some of the nicest melodies
I've ever heard Yachty sing.
Yes "they big as a toe and sh**" is maybe the laziest comparison ever made, but it doesn't
even irritate me on this track cause Yachty provides such a happy verse here.
Very cool collab between him and Post Malone.
Clip: Lil Yachty "Momma" (Verse 2)
Alright alright, call me a big soft boy, big softie CDTV, but I think this verse is pretty
cute.
As the title implies, Yachty dedicates this song to his momma, and it makes for one of
the best tracks on Teenage Emotions.
I know that's not exactly an achievement, it's like being the smartest brain cell
in Lil Pump's head, there's not much competition, but I think this would still make for a good
track even on one of Yachty's stronger projects.
Yachty tells us about repaying his mother for all the love she gave him by buying her
a new, new car and new jewellery.
It's nice to hear how much of his success he wants to share with her and it sounds like
they have a really great relationship.
I never thought I'd say this, but we got a genuinely heartwarming track from Yachty
with this one.
Clip: Carnage "Mase In '97 (feat.
Lil Yachty)" (Verse 2)
Now whenever Yachty is rapping, it doesn't exactly harbour the best results, as shown
by his Lil Boat 2 album.
However this is one of the rare examples where his execution is actually pretty solid.
I chose the second verse over the first one because I feel the first one was a bit awkward
flow wise, but the second one is actually quite nice.
There's not even really any cringey lyrics on the second verse, and there's some amusing
little lines.
It's probably the hardest verse Yachty has rapped, and I like the urgent feeling that
the song has with Yachty's frantic delivery.
People will usually point to this as an example of Yachty rapping well, and I can't argue
with that.
Clip: Chance the Rapper "Mixtape (feat.
Young Thug & Lil Yachty)" (Verse 3)
I mean Chance the Rapper, who this song is by, said that this his favourite verse from
Chance's own project.
That's some pretty high praise, and I could see why he would say it.
It's definitely one of Yachty's best Verses hence it being on here.
The beat is suited really well for Yachty's voice, he flows so smoothly, and I thought
the line "now I spend more than they make at my dentist" was a fairly creative way
for Yachty to brag about his success.
Although I would have to say, I think Logic and even Chance himself also care about cover
art, even though you do also have very aesthetically pleasing cover art yourself Yachty.
Overall it's one of Yachty's strongest verses and his singing actually strikes me
as passionate at points during this.
Nice verse.

Daniel Ricciardo: Life on a Canvas - Duration: 4:27.
I do like some street art.
I guess I appreciate probably the work that goes into it.
To some people, which looks maybe sometimes simple it's obviously not
always that and it's a bit like racing you know people say, well I drive the car
every day so what makes you so special and why do you need a train, why do you
need to put so much effort into it and there's obviously a lot more to it.
I loved racing from a young age, I guess it's kind of in your blood as they say.
I really enjoyed the freedom of it the power to be in control at such a young age of something.
I was completely in love
Growing up in Perth, I was always happy here. Even like a kind of young teenager
I was always like yeah you know gonna stay in Perth my whole life.
Very much attached to the city.
What I loved about coming home is obviously catching up
with with friends and family. I feel completely detached from the racing world
It's my 10th year on the road so I've kind of got used to that
The first time I got to drive a go-kart you know I was 8-9 years old
Throughout the track, keep going whatever 80 kilometres an hour
And there's no one can touch you
that freedom, control and that little bit of power, that's a cool feeling
I remember even while I was 15-16 you know those last
couple years of school I was scratching my head because I was like I'm not
really passionate about anything in particular that was a probably a switch
you know around 17, me growing up as well like you hit a bit of a maturity switch
as well and that kind of made me realise this was a realistic thing for me.
Mum and dad still get crazy nervous when I race but um that'll never change
I love two wheels but it was never a realistic option getting mum to allow me to race
on four wheels was already a big enough challenge so yeah. I got my first dirt
bike probably two years ago so it took me a long time to convince her to
allow me to do anything on two wheels
Initially when I started racing
they were both against it dad had been involved in racing you know for some of his life and
he understood how intense it is but also how kind of unrealistic as well it is
for like a little kid from Perth to make it on a world stage.
Once I kind of had that hunger to do it they were fully supportive
Motivation for me is I think purely driven by the competition it's like a
privilege to be able to compete on a world scale against the best in the world.
It's super competitive on track it's kind of every man for them self.
2012/2013 my trainer saw a documentary on the honey badger and he showed me and
he goes check this out and he goes I really think there's a real correlation.
He knew that there was a kind of a real fierce competitive side to me and I feel
2014 when I got my chance with RedBull people saw that
You know it's one of the most ruthless drivers on the track that year and I feel that's continued.
It still seems you know sometimes a bit surreal I didn't ever really think this
would happen. When I'm on the podium I have a lot of things go through my mind.
Is it still a good idea the Shoey?
I have no idea I haven't got sick from it so that's that's important.
I didn't think it would take off like it did, I just
wanted to break the ice cuz you see so many drivers up there and like you've
got a podium you know whether it's first second or third you've done pretty well.
I think back to the where it all started or all the the bad days where you wanted
to kind of throw it all in and then you look down and see everyone cheering.
That, that is definitely worth it.
G'day Paul.
It doesn't make sense for me when people don't do something they're passionate about.
I'm not saying you need to be famous or make it on a world stage in what you do
but just do something that you love doing.
Wow that's really cool
I mean besides that part it's really cool.
I think if there's one thing I want to be remembered for, it's someone who put everything into.
What makes me happy on a Sunday after race is leaving, flying home
with no regrets.

Amber Rose Criticizes 'Mainstream' Metoo Movement - Duration: 2:00.
The proliferation of the me2 movement through which women aim to fight back against sexual indecency an
Inequality in the workplace is no doubt a step in the right direction
But has it eclipsed more marginalized
populations in the process
Amber Rose seems to think so in
An interview with the Raw Story Rose says me too has received a national and public platform
Because it has become a pet project for rich white women the issues the campaign
Addresses have already been alive for some time within more at-risk populations
She said it's kind of very frustrating to me because all of a sudden
feminism became such a mainstream thing
Now white no shade white rich actresses start coming out and saying me too. Me, too
she said, but what happened to all of us what happened to the strippers and the
LGBTQ community and the black girls in college like you know no one wanted to talk about
These people and now all of a sudden going past that
Even like black women don't even make half as much as white women in movies for
Her issues with me, too. Though. Rose says she's glad it's receiving attention I
Feel like it's really gonna take
Unfortunately a white actress to come out and say hey black women need to make as much as we do in movies
For it to make a change she said

wargames out yesterday march 14th where it's free online with adverts support or
via Steam for two dollars 99 the latest creation from her story creator Sam
Barlow in collaboration with EKKO studio so given the success of his previous
work this comes with high expectations war games no real connection to the 1983
movie of the same name works like an interactive live TV show that follows a
story of Kelly and a group of hacker activists as they morph from organizing
pranks to discovering and exposing clandestine government secrets we see
their lives on screen presented via their computer and phone cameras which
offers an intimate and personal window into their worlds as we explore the
game's narrative as perhaps you could expect you play the game as you would
watch any regular TV show in this case you're offered multiple visual feeds
that resemble a live-action show that play together all at the same time using
your mouse you drag one of these feeds to the center of the screen and by doing
so you decide which piece of footage you want to focus on while the others
continue to play in the background in real time while interactive TV inspired
games are nothing new by actively choosing which video feed you wish to
focus on wargames will adapt Kelly's actions and personality according to
your choices therein lies the gaming mechanic your selections impact and
drive the story Ford's which is both clever and perhaps a little too subtle
and understated in its execution as we journeyed through the six-part story and
move between the various feeds we didn't get a feeling our choices were having an
influence on the story or Kelly's personality as the events progressed
there's no feedback loop we are able to pinpoint where your choice made the
story branch from one timeline to the next come the end of each episode there
is an overview of where the narrative might have changed although the cause
and effect of your actions remain unclear throughout Kelly comes across as
a credible and plausible character while at times dipping into central casting
the other fellas and ladies well they also come across as a little bit
box-ticking at times and hit a few classic clichés amongst them we have the
oddball high-schooler a pale girl in a darkened bedroom with tinges of green
hair and oversized headphones and we also have a horribly disingenuous news
presenter while some of the acting isn't as robust as it
I'd have been the dialogue between them is strongly written which in turn drives
the relationship within the story as it develops where war games does fall short
it does so in its discussion about issues and topics relevant in today's
social media led culture the story begins with Kelly's team pranking an
artist who's recently played before a war criminal before quickly moving on
into a story relating to her recently deceased mother a high ranking military
official whose memory and actions are being used by different groups to
support numerous and disparate viewpoints from here we touch upon drone
strikes boxing and various other issues such as ethics behind the invasion of
personal privacy for the benefit of the wider public
sadly the story jumps from topic to topic without getting into a deeper grip
of them to undertake a decent analysis similarly Kelly's team seems
unstructured they have no cohesiveness and no overarching ethos to their
behavior and seemed driven by self interests has a concept wargames from
its interactive TV choice driven gaming style as a format we found most
interesting and would certainly like to see and feel more experiences like it in
this case we return to speculating what changes our choices made to Kelly
through the story as it developed perhaps additional play through it will
make this more apparent and yet we leave wargames with the feeling we needed less
subtlety in the implementation and more indication on the outcomes of your
choices this would offer a greater sense of involvement and investment within it
that in turn would create a dynamic rather than a linear visual gaming
experience while wargames doesn't quite deliver as best as it could it's clever
perhaps too clever within its scope which ultimately means it doesn't reach
the heights of her story that said we would recommend taking a look at
wargames especially the advert supported free online version we suspect to follow
up series to be on the cards and would very much welcome a second review into
wargames and the team of hackers therein while perhaps falling short of its
premise we enjoyed our time with war games and hope you liked this little
overview and of course links to the game can be found in the description below
have you played war games if so what do you think please feel free to share your
opinions here or via Twitter on the handle get indie gaming many thanks for
