Athletes Who Destroyed Their Careers In Seconds - Duration: 4:20.

Sports stars seem to have everything — fame, fortune, and the adoration of millions.

Yet no matter how far an athlete can jump or how fast they can run, the one thing they

can't outrun is themselves.

Here's a tragic look at sports stars who ruined their careers — and lives — in a matter

of seconds.

Rae Carruth

During the 1997 NFL Draft, the upstart Carolina Panthers selected wide receiver Rae Carruth,

who seemed to be a surefire superstar.

But just two years later he was out of the league and in prison after hiring three hitmen

to help him murder his pregnant girlfriend, 24-year-old real estate agent Cherica Adams.

Adams' baby, Chancellor Lee Adams, was delivered by emergency Caesarean section and diagnosed

with cerebral palsy and permanent brain damage, while Carruth was convicted in 2001 of conspiracy

to commit murder and sentenced to 18 to 24 years without parole.

In a 2018 interview from prison, Carruth told WBTV he regretted his actions.

"If I could change anything, I'd change the whole situation.

His mother would still be here and I wouldn't be where I'm at."

Johnny Manziel

A dual-threat quarterback for Texas A&M, Johnny Manziel earned the nickname "Johnny Football"

for his sensational play on the field, making him the first freshman to win the coveted

Heisman Trophy award as the best player in college football.

That was enough to convince the Cleveland Browns to pick him in the first round of the

2014 NFL Draft despite questions about his character after an off-the-field incident

where he was arrested for disorderly conduct and giving a fake ID to police.

But drafting Manziel turned out to be a mistake.

After just his third preseason game, Manziel was fined $12,000 for "making an obscene gesture"

at Washington's bench.

After a stint in rehab following that season, Manziel was pulled over by police after an

argument that "got out of hand" with his then-girlfriend.

Charges of domestic violence were eventually dismissed.

In 2016, after just two seasons, the Browns waived Manziel, who has since revealed he

has been diagnosed as bipolar and continues to work on a comeback.

Oscar Pistorius

The first double-leg amputee to compete in the Olympics, the man nicknamed Blade Runner

was a worldwide inspiration to millions.

So the world was shocked in 2013 when South African athlete Oscar Pistorius was arrested

for shooting his girlfriend to death on Valentine's Day.

Supermodel Reeva Steenkamp was in the bathroom when Pistorius shot her four times through

a closed door.

He claimed his mistook her for an intruder, but the courts didn't buy it, convicting him

of culpable homicide and eventually sentencing him to 15 years in prison.

Ryan Leaf

After being selected 2nd overall behind Peyton Manning by the San Diego Chargers in the 1998

NFL Draft, quarterback Ryan Leaf said,

"I'm looking forward to a 15-year career, a couple of trips to the Super Bowl and a

parade through downtown San Diego."

Instead, he became known as arguably the biggest draft bust in NFL history thanks to erratic

behavior, beginning with a fine before his first season even started and peaking with

an infamous locker room meltdown.

"f----- don't talk to me, alright?

Knock it off!

"F------ bitch!"

Leaf later said that was the moment he knew his career was over — just three games into

his rookie season.

During the next two seasons, he served a four-game suspension for an "obscenity-laced tirade"

directed at Chargers personnel, had to be forcibly stopped by coaches from going after

a heckling fan, and was rumored to fake a wrist injury so he could skip practice and

play golf.

After finishing the 2000 season 1 and 15, the Chargers cut him, and not longer after,

he was out of the NFL for good.

After struggling for years with addiction, Leaf was arrested in Montana in 2012.

"I felt like my career was a failure, I mean I went to my lakehouse in Montana collected

as many pills as I could, and I'd disappear for like three months."

He ended up spending two years in prison, an experience that proved transformative,

as he got sober and now works as a outreach ambassador for a recovery program.

"we're going to go down to the library and help prisoners who don't know how to read

learn how to read.

And it's the first time I've been in service to anyone but myself."

Sometimes, things eventually work out for the best.

Good luck, Ryan!

Why Do Geiger Counters Make That Clicking Sound? - Duration: 3:08.

[ Intro]

Say you've settled in for a day of gaming glory, and you're busy cruising the radioactive

wasteland of Fallout 4, when suddenly your speakers start emitting crackling, clicking

noises.

Gamers aren't the only ones who will recognize that sound: it's the characteristic noise

of a Geiger counter detecting radiation.

But it turns out that what you're really hearing is the sound of rogue electrons.

The Geiger counter was developed in 1908 by Hans Geiger and perfected 20 years later by

his student Walther Müller.

So the radiation detector inside it is called, surprise surprise, a Geiger-Müller or G-M

tube.

The tube is made of metal so it conducts electricity, and it's filled with a gas that's normally

inert, or nonreactive, like neon.

A long metal rod runs through the middle, with a power source charging it.

Everything is stable because the inert gas between the rod and the walls doesn't conduct

electricity—at least not yet.

That's where radiation comes in.

At the most basic level, radiation is how energy travels through space and is transferred

between things.

Geiger counters specifically measure ionizing radiation: radiation with enough energy to

strip electrons from atoms, leaving behind positively-charged ions.

That also makes it powerful enough to damage DNA, which is why ionizing radiation is dangerous

for living things … and why we have a vested interest in detecting it.

When a radioactive atom decays, it produces ionizing radiation in the form of subatomic

particles.

And with a Geiger counter, that's what you're looking to detect.

When the ionizing radiation passes through the gas inside the G-M tube, it knocks electrons

off the gas atoms inside.

The newly-freed electrons are attracted to the positively-charged rod at the center,

so they zoom towards it.

And as they do, they knock electrons off other atoms, in what's called a Townsend avalanche.

This cascade of atoms being ionized creates enough charged particles inside the tube to

briefly conduct electricity between the rod and the walls.

So there's a momentary surge of current.

When the tube is connected to a speaker, that current causes a rapid, jerking movement of

the speaker components—which is that crackling or popping noise.

While the electrons move toward the middle, the positive gas ions head the other way.

When they hit the walls of the tube, they pick up an electron from the metal, returning

to their original state and resetting the detector.

The same crackling can also happen with any abrupt change in the current running through

your speakers—like if you accidentally roll your gaming chair over your audio cables.

Thankfully, though, that type of crackling doesn't mean you need to go find a lead shield.

Now, tweaks to the tube design and the gas inside can make different Geiger counters

slightly more or less sensitive to different kinds of ionizing radiation.

But they're only really useful for detecting somewhat low levels of radiation.

That's because any radiation that hits before the tube finishes resetting isn't detected,

so they actually underestimate the danger in high radiation areas.

So this probably goes without saying, but if you hear a Geiger counter crackling, stay

away!

Unless you've got some mutant hound chops or a refreshing beverage to flush your rads,

that is.

If Your Energy Is Being Affected During These Times - Duration: 4:10.

If Your Energy Is Being Affected During These Times Of Change, Keep This In Mind.

People are exhausted, stressed out and suffering from anxiety.

Recently, life has been challenging in so many ways for all of us.

On top of that, we have all these weather and planetary changes and the whirlwind of

new energies and sense of the unknown sweeping through the air.

I think that we all know that change is on the horizon and the process has already well

and truly begun.

For months and even years now, we have been working on releasing old patterns, pain, and

thoughts from our physical, mental, emotional and etheric bodies.

We have been clearing and preparing whether we are fully aware of it or not.

You may have even found yourself clearing clutter in your home or workspace, ridding

of anything old or worn.

All these actions show that on some level, we are aware that we need to clear out mentally,

emotionally, physically and spiritually.

This is the process that is continuing to happen and YOU KNOW YOULL WANT TO BE FEELING

LIGHTER AND BRIGHTER like a load is literally being taken off your back in preparation for

something new and more aligned with your Higher Self.

It is really important that we embrace intense energies as a cornerstone in our lives for

personal transformation on so many levels for some more noticeable than others.

However, do not get swayed by any negative media hype or end of world antics that

we all experienced in the build-up to and since December 2012.

We are on the precipice of profound change as we anchor into a new era of enlightenment

or progression on earth.

And that does not mean that something supernatural or epic will happen (either end of the scale).

This whole rise of consciousness and emergence into a new paradigm is a process, after all.

Change is happening on levels and dimensions in our universe.

It has been for some time and shall continue to do so which is something that as humans

we cannot fully understand.

If you have already been humming along with the awakening process (or hanging on for dear

life) then wonderful, you are already where you need to be.

Outrage over New Yorker mag's 'repulsive' body-shaming of President Trump - Duration: 4:58.

Outrage over New Yorker mag's 'repulsive' body-shaming of President Trump.

The prestigious New Yorker magazine is under fire for its latest cover, which depicts President

Trump addressing reporters in the nude in an unflattering illustration that mocks his

appearance.

The magazine tweeted an early look at this image and it was immediately met with criticism.

While many critics chimed in with responses calling the image "disgusting" and "repulsive,"

others accused the image of mocking the president for his physical appearance – which is generally

frowned upon in the current cultural landscape.

I dislike Trump, but they could have done without the body shaming," one user tweeted.

"Especially considering that is a culture we are all trying to get away from."

The reader added, "As someone who is VERY Anti-Trump, displaying him as a flesh colored

blob is 100% body shaming."

I get that, but as someone who is VERY Anti-Trump, displaying him as a flesh colored blob is

100% body shaming, and its something that Trump himself would do.

We can be better than that.

— Collin Rea (@_CollinRea) March 16, 2018 "Shame on you for doing this to anybody,

not just the president," a reader replied to the magazine's tweet.

Another reader was so disgusted that they referred to The New Yorker as "trash"

that has "fallen to the lowest level," while another proclaimed, "Your readers

are snobs."

Members of the media have chimed in, as Think Progress editor Judd Legum predicted that

Trump won't appreciate the art and MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin simply tweeted, "Oh

my."

Conservative commentator Britt McHenry told Fox News that the cover is another sign of

"intolerance and mean spirited behavior" from the liberal media.

"Why is his weight relevant?

There has been a lot of turbulence within the White House Administration the past couple

weeks with high profile people resigning," McHenry said.

"Focus on what actually matters, if criticism is all the media wants to project."

Washington Post media columnist Erik Wemple seemed to take great joy in the cover, noting

there is a great deal to love about the illustration and pointing to the size of particular extremities

as an example, an obvious jab at the size of Trump's hands.

Others fixated on the fact that the esteemed magazine would be able to get away with mocking

the appearance of a female public figure.

"Imagine the s--t storm had Madame @HillaryClinton won and a magazine had decided to run a cover

of her along these lines," one user wrote.

"It's sad to see liberal deep state minds at work, only hurting the future of our country,

it citizens and their own families!

What goes around comes around," a critic of the cover tweeted, while another said the

image is an example of why The New Yorker is "turning into the Mad Magazine for urban

elitists."

The Barry Blitt illustration "recalls the prophet Bob Dylan, who once noted, in 'It's

Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding),' that 'even the President of the United States

must sometimes have to stand naked,'" according to the magazine.

"I wanted to address President Trump's stormy relationship with the press," Blitt

said.

Art Editor Francoise Mouly wrote that the illustration was selected from a group that

included images of school shootings and the death of Stephen Hawking.

"Once the image was selected, Blitt honed the cast and contour of certain love handles,

then glazed the work in his signature watercolors," Mouly wrote.

Earlier this year, several media members were accused of fat shaming Trump when he was given

a clean bill of health by White House physician Ronny Jackson despite being a tad overweight

and needing more exercise.

The disbelieving media scoffed at the official report, mocking the doctor's findings, offering

its own diagnoses and ultimately questioning the credentials of a U.S. Navy rear admiral

who conducted the exam.

A new genre of fake news was created as a result of Trump's positive physical, as

pundits turned into weight truthers, or as MSNBC host Chris Hayes put it, "girthers."

The White house doctor reported that Trump stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 239 pounds, which

magically turned critics into carnival-style weight guessers.

"If that's what 6'3″, 239 pounds looks like -- that's a shock to me," MSNBC star

Joe Scarborough said the morning after Dr. Jackson revealed Trump's dimensions.

University of Southern California Associate Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy E.

Todd Schroeder told Fox News that "body composition and weight is a sensitive topic

for both men and women" and while people might not like Trump, that doesn't make

it okay to attack his appearance.

"If Hillary Clinton was president, had a physical, and classified as overweight, I

am confident the report would receive little attention and certainly not ridicule," Schroeder

said during the aftermath of Trump's physical.

RAW MANGO CHUTNEY|2 DIFFERENT TYPES| कैरीची चटणी २ पद्धती| KACCHE AAM KI CHUTNEY 2 WAYS - Duration: 4:02.

hi friends welcome to my channel kitchen into kitchen today I'm gonna share with

you 2 simple chutney recipes made with raw green mango they go very well as a

side dish with the meal or as a appetizer or a snack side dish it's very

easy to make and you can also have it stored for five to seven days in your

refrigerator hope you like it let's look at the ingredients the first method we

need half a cup of raw green mango - garlic cloves some coriander leaves and

some curry leaves some salt to taste 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds one teaspoon of

mustard seeds two teaspoons of red chilli powder and half a cup of grated

coconut in a grinder add raw mango coconut cumin seeds red chili powder

garlic cloves coriander leaves some salt and make a fine paste and some water of

required and this is the final result for the second method here I have taken

1 cup of coconut 1 green chilly - Kerala cloves some coriander leaves

gram dal or Daalia which we are gonna try roast about half a cup of green raw

mango peeled and cut into small pieces some sugar TSP of turmeric haldi

1 TSP of mustard seeds salt to taste and some curry leaves first we're gonna dry

roast the gram dal so take a white pan like that and on a medium high flame dry

roast the gram dal or Daalia stirring in between notice that the color has

changed now it's nicely roasted switch off the flame in a grinder add raw mango

Daalia grated coconut salt 2 garlic cloves green chilli coriander leaves and

grind it to a fine paste and add some water as needed this is the final result

I gotta give third card to both our chutney is so in 1/3 cup and add about 4

to 5 teaspoons of cooking oil once the oil is hot add the mustard seeds and

since we are using for both have added 2 teaspoons of mustard seeds add some heat

and switch off the flame now add curry leaves and as they crackle add the

turmeric powder and a teaspoon of sugar mix this thoroughly well

it's ready now let's go ahead and pour it on our chutneys I have already taken

them out in separate polls so just you know half on one and half on the other

add this tadka it gives such a nice aroma to both the chutneys and the oil

also helps to you know have them stored for a longer time give it a good mix so

with the help of a spoon kind of immerse that our cut through the chutney all

over and do that for both of them both the chutneys are nice variations using a

raw mango and go very well with any of your snacks appetizers or even as a side

dish with your meal hope you've enjoyed today's session please don't forget to

CBB's Ashley James Online Dating After Cutting Ginuwine Out Of Her Life - Duration: 4:09.

Ashley James was seen getting very close to US singer Ginuwine during their time in the

Celebrity Big Brother house.

But despite her hopes of it turning into something on the outside world, she's cut contact with

him after finding out she "couldn't trust him".

Speaking exclusively to Mirror Online, the former Made In Chelsea star revealed she's

delving into the world of online dating.

Ashley was inspired to join Badoo after joining a panel of women, including Karen Brady, Daisy

Lowe , Tess Ward and Tracy Edwards, for an event organised by the app to celebrate International

Women's Day.

Opening up about her romance with the Pony hitmaker, Ashley told us: "Going in there,

I was so head strong that I didn't want a relationship and I wanted to show I was this

strong, independent woman.

"I know viewers become a bit cynical about showmances and think it's just for attention

so I was so adamant I wouldn't be with anyone, but it's so hard to run away from your heart

in that house and I do wear my heart on my sleeve."

The blonde beauty, 30, added: "I think I had hoped coming out that it would be something

and I think I was quite open about that but now I don't speak to him and I just think

I'd rather be single and happy than be with someone I couldn't trust.

"I don't have harsh feelings for him but I just realised that it wasn't going to work

and that we were different people in our expectations for each other.

"There were a few reasons that I realised I wouldn't be able to trust him and I didn't

want to sacrifice my own happiness and feelings of self worth.

"I'm still happy that I followed my heart and when I meet a person I take them on their

world and don't judge them on their past so I can't regret the feelings I had.

"He was a big support for me in the house and I thought in the house that I could trust

him and a lot of the advice and knowledge he gave me, so I came out of the house thinking

he was someone who had learned from his past and was trustworthy but that wasn't the case,

but you can't regret following your heart.

It happens."

Ashley, who said she felt empowered after being in the CBB house during 'Year of the

Woman', says online dating is helping her fit meeting new people into her busy schedule.

She said: "Usually when I'm out in a bar, I'm so busy now that when I'm out I'm catching

up with my girlfriends or my guy friends it's kind of irritating when someone else comes

up to talk to you.

"So if you're going on an online date you can allocate that time.

I like forward thinking and progressive apps and companies so I'd rather be on an app like

Baddo where they are doing things for women rather than one of those late night apps that

is still kind of about hook ups.

"I'm relatively new to the online dating world but I am on it.

I think it's an amazing thing for our current generation."

* Badoo is statistically the world's largest dating app with over 370 million users; 60

million active users each month, 300,000 daily sign-ups, 600 million swipes each day and

6 million matches each day
