How to use free software to design excenter levers for woodworking [not a build video] - Duration: 4:53.
Today we are going to design an excenter lever with free software.
Excenters have many uses in the shop such as for holding down a workpiece in place or
to glue up panels.
In my last video I created these adjustable floating shelves.
As I don't have an engineering background it took me some time to understand how to
best design an excenter lever.
In this video I want to share these learnings.
Let's first have a look at the basics how an excenter works.
If we have a circle and just punch a hole in it the distance between the hole and the
border of the disk will stay constant as the disk turns.
We can move the hole a out of the center which creates a basic excenter.
If we roll this one the distance to the border is increasing till the middle and is decreasing
afterwards.
We only use half of the contour this way to increase the pressure.
To improve the usage and effectiveness we would have to add more material on the second
half of the circle.
This is what's called a spiral excenter.
I tried to design it in CAD but actually didn't succeed.
The solution I ended up with was to use Inkscape.
If you want to follow along and don't have it already installed on your computer go to
Inkscape.org and download the latest version of the software.
In the software we click on the spiral tool and draw a spiral.
In the upper part of the window you can change the size of the spiral - for me that's 100
times 100 millimeter.
We then change the Turns to 1.8 so that the spiral covers only a bit more than 1.5 turns.
This tool here is a measurement tool.
We first click on the center of the spiral and then drag the mouse to the outside at
the narrowest and the widest point of the spiral.The difference between these two values
equals the amount of pressure we can create with the excenter.
Here the width of the spiral ranges from 39 mm at the narrowest to 58,6 mm at the widest
point.
The difference between these two values is 19,6.
If we want to reduce the travel down to 8mm we divide 8 by 19,6 and put the resulting
0,41 in the divergence field of the spiral tool.
We can use the measurement tool to control the two distances.
As soon as we are done with the spiral we click on this icon in order to snap to the
center of the spiral.
We then create a circle.
This will be the center hole so we change it's size to fit our axle and move the center
of the circle to the center of the spiral.
Next draw a rectangle and use the circle icon to give it round corners.
This rectangle is so that we can turn the excenter easier and we position it at the
opening of the spiral.
With the rectangle still selected we hold down shift and select the spiral.
In the Path menu we select Union to combine the two shapes.
Depending on your size there might be some leftover parts from the interior part of the
spiral.
To delete these choose break apart in the Path menu and delete the leftovers.
Lastly we select the circle and the outer form and select Difference from the Path menu
to cut the circle from the center.
You can now either print the shape and cut it on a bandsaw or you import it in a CAD
program.
Besides the floating shelves I mentioned in the beginning excenter levers are pretty helpful
for example as panel clamps.

A lady Fisayo Awonuga, who claims to be a family friend of Big brother Naija 2018 housemate, Bambam, has claimed that Bambams parents are angry with her for having sex with Teddy A in the toilet.
Recall that, Teddy A who initially said he has respect for Bambam and would not have sex with her in the house was caught on Tuesday having sex in the toilet.
Fisayo, in a series of tweets revealed that Bambams parents were angry with her for disgracing the family on national TV.
Also a church member of the Bambams identified as Stephanie Amaty had condemned Bambam for disgracing her family.
She also disclosed that Bambams father who is a church elder is disappointed in her.
According to the saidd family friend, Bambams parents who do not watch the show heard about the sex episode and requested that Big brother send her back home.
Fisayo wrote, Bambam family and mine go all the way back and I can confirm to you that her parents who were very upset yesterday have forgiven her.
However, her father has summoned a meeting with The people at Multi-Choice and the Payporte boss to bring her back.
Her parents do not watch Big brother and have refused to watch the clips.
So they don't know what exactly is in it.
I maintain that Bambam is a very decent girl who shouldn't be judged by this.
Until she confirms there was penetration, there wasn't.
Bam's dad still wants her out, so we will see if the protection promised will stop him from trying to get her out.

hey everybody welcome back to my channel so this week's Dollar Tree Gold is on
the Nivea cream if you'd like to see my review then please keep on watching make

Dollar Tree Gold issue is is that a lot of times its regional like some of the
things that you can get there and also it's you know things get sold out so
quickly so I'm gonna try to do more videos on things that I see all the time
at Dollar Tree whether I'm down in another city or up here where I live I
just kind of want to do products that I see all the time so I'm going to try to
get those in more often so something I always say at my local Dollar Tree and
any Dollar Tree that I've ever gone to is the Nivea cream in the little blue
tin this stuff is amazing sorry I'm trying to find the amount but oh okay it
is 29 grams or 30 milliliters so it comes in a tin and it's a nice thick
cream this stuff is amazing okay this stuff is great for elbows it's great for
dry cuticles it is great for feet this stuff will stay on and stay on and stay
on it's one of those creams that if you put it on and then wash your hands a
couple hours later it's still you can still feel it it definitely leaves that
Sheen it is leaves an actual protective layer on the skin this stuff is amazing
I love to use it for my super dry elbows or if I've been like taking off nail
polish like changing out colors a couple times in one week this stuff will really
really help those dry cuticles it just sinks in so it's thick but with the
warmth of your skin and with rubbing it in it will definitely like turn liquidy
so it is absolutely wonderful absolutely love it it is a great great hand cream
all over body cream really if you have severely dry skin they obviously do sell
like the larger size like Walgreens Walmart but for a dollar I don't think
that you can pass this up I'd love to put this in my purse this would be great
we're going through the airport it is definitely underneath that 2 ounce
limit and this stuff is just amazing it can even go into a pocket sometimes I
know it might sound kind of gross because it is scented pretty heavily
scented but if you get like the dry cracked skin around your lips if you're
out in the elements put this around your mouth and it will help to heal up those
dry cracked really chapped areas but this stuff is amazing absolutely do love
it but yeah it's great so I would definitely recommend going to your local
Dollar Tree I'd say 90% chance they'll have the Nivea cream and for a dollar I
think it's a great deal it's great and smells really really good but if you
don't like a heavy scent you might want to skip out on this but I do love it but

Study Irregular Verbs | #11-20 MOST USED Irregular Verbs in English - Duration: 6:47.
English Winners, this is another lesson on common irregular verbs. So this is
part two of a- let's say five part series. If you haven't seen the first one, I'll
put a link in the description below, okay? Common irregular verbs... there are a
lot of them. There are a lot of irregular verbs. And so, it's difficult to learn all
of them, but if you start with the ones people use the most, you will get the
most win for the smallest amount of English. So we're going to go over ten.
Each irregular verb I'll list the present tense, the past tense, and the past
participle form of that verb, and give sentence examples of each one. That way,
you can see the similarities between the different tenses and the things that are
a little bit different, okay? I invite you to make your own sentences as you go
along. Try to make your own sentences, especially with the past participle
forms. In fact, some of the new sentences you make... please write them down in the
comments below. Take your time with this exercise, and pause the video
occasionally if you have to. Let's get started. Our first irregular verb is
think: I think I can lift this rock. That's think: present tense.
Past tense form: thought. I thought you left last week. Past participle form:
thought. The decision was thought over by the Executive Board.
Number two: tell. Present form: You can tell me; I won't tell anyone.
Past form: told. He told you not to touch that piece of metal. Past participle form:
told. The children were told stories every evening by their grandmother.
Number three: become. Present tense form: She can become a champion if she works
hard. Past form: became. He became a champion horse racer. Past participle
form: We had become the best restaurant chain in the city.
Number four is show. Present tense form: Show me the money.
Past form: showed. When the security guard stopped me, I showed him my purchase
receipt. Past participle form: shown. The bouncers had shown him the exit soon
after he started getting noisy. Number five: leave. Present form: I'm going to
leave. Past form: left. She left the store to get
some lunch. Past participle form: left. Tom had left
North Dakota for a tropical paradise.
Number six: feel. Feel: present tense form. I feel OK. Past tense form: felt. The warm
blankets felt good. Past participle form: felt. We had felt bored listening to the
professor. Seven: Put. Present tense form: Put down the phone. Past form: put... again. We
put on our coats. And past participle form: put. Hey! Present, past, and past
participle are all the same. Here's our example sentence: Karen had put another
coin in the karaoke machine. Number eight is bring. Bring: present tense
form. Bring your own drinks. Past form: She brought her cousin with
her. And past participle form is: brought... just like past tense. Example: Presents were
brought by the wedding invitees. Number nine: begin. Present form: begin. It's time
to begin. Past form: They began to pack lunch on their business trips. And past
participle form: begun. As in, 'The event had begun without any serious problems.'
Our last one for this video is keep. Present form: keep yourself safe. Past
form: kept. We kept our seat belts on. And kept is the same for past participle form.
Here's our example: GPS batteries were kept in reserve by the exploration team.
