Why this Kenyan entrepreneur chose to launch a social business - #Insiders4Good - Duration: 1:27.

[MUSIC]

My name is Nickson Kariuki and my idea is Spurred.

Today, in East Africa, we are facing one of the worst

humanitarian crises since the creation of the United Nations.

Our solution, Spurred, offers a mobile and USSB platform for

individuals enjoying loyalty programs from telecommunications

to banking, to donate a portion of the loyalty points towards

building specific inventory for humanitarian response agencies.

I work for a private company here in Nairobi.

I was designing research projects for

organizations in Somalia.

And I could see the impact of my work designing those research

projects, but I wanted more.

I wanted to really be on the ground,

and see the difference that I can do.

I have a masters in sustainable urban development,

specialized in urban water and sanitation management.

So I was thinking to myself, how can we turn the tables?

And I came to the realization that I have loyalty points from

different companies, from telecommunication, to my bank.

And they have a value, however small.

Is it possible for

me to use that for making impact on people.

So over time, the idea evolved to what it is now.

ВООБЩЕ НЕ ВАЛИТ! ГРОМКИЕ НОВОСТИ @2 - Duration: 16:17.

Hi, everyone!

Thank you very much for that huge amount of comments and suggestions

on what we could fix after the first issue.

The most frequent comment was definitely about Stas' eyebrows.

Runner-up was his arms. He is already working on it.

Thanks to everyone who supported the project.

Any YouTube training, any manual says that

whenever you change the host you're bound to get a lot of negativity

and more dislikes than likes.

The first issue got 5 times more likes than dislikes,

and it's a great result.

Huge respect to Stas. I agree, there's still a lot to learn,

and learn, and learn.

You might've guessed that the news are going to come out on Monday and Friday.

This is the first project of the kind - dare I say, in the world.

I mean, regular car audio news that is entertaining and informative.

An, please, don't compare us to any of those knock-offs

with people sitting watching their screens and giving comments.

Or when there's a voice put over a photo- or video-collage. It's not news.

One, I'd call a vlog, the other one - a lousy job.

In fact, I'd call both a lousy job.

Anyway, it's all cra...

This is issue Two of the LOUD NEWS.

And while you're watching it, we're preparing the 3rd one due on Monday.

And on Monday, when you're watching it, we'll be preparing one for Friday.

So, LOUD NEWS, issue number two.

No kick at all!

Hey yo! LOUD SOUND here!

I'm staying for now.

[A]: The key word's 'for now'.

Coming up: DD Audio has released whole 3 new products recently.

Why did Nikolay 'Nick' Ryabov leave Team Alphard?

- Are you crazy?

And we'll check out his new project put up with his own brand.

The 'Persona' Studio guys are building a new project, with the Medveds.

One UAZ Hunter MARINE.

Sergey Remizov has set a world record in the dB Drag finals.

And, for sure, there's the trash-master.

[T]: Whoa!

Anti-caraudio master, a brewer and just a good guy,

Misha M has built yet another crazy project.

[M]: Ma damn! 18"s! In a shelf!

Nikolay Ryabov, a.k.a. Nick the Termite...

[A]: Yeah, a.k.a. the Banana Nick, aha.

Left Team Alphard.

[A]: Hey there, Banana!

This year began with a lot of leaving.

It is almost like real sports where they buy and sell athletes.

Except the athletes are not that fine and there's no money paid, either.

[Hardcore Bill Cosby-style laughing]

[A]: That joke was dope, right?

[A]: I wrote it!

His Avatar-powered Lada '12 and IVECO are on base at Alphard.

But I think it's no secret that Nick the Termite has launched his own brand

called Russian Bass.

There is already a Lada Granta show car being put together on Russian Bass.

The color is a real blast.

Btw, it was an in-house recipe developed by mixing two paints.

[A]: Yeah, right, we've seen that painter who mixed the colors, right?

[B]: Freaking white pearly roof.

In that car, the front will be housing

five pairs of 20-cm (8") widebands

and four pairs of horn tweeters.

The rear, in its turn, will comprise 3 pairs of mid-range speaker prototypes.

Plus, three more pairs of different mid-ranges with a neo motor.

And two pairs of 10"s.

Btw, the amps. four 4-channels, one of them is an A-class

which is a rear thing in our days.

And two powerful 2-channels, too.

I mean, check out those 8"s punch 50 Hz!

[Alien Man]: Cutting Edge Technology.

You don't even need a sub there. But there will be one.

A Russian Bass 12-er prototype with a 5" coil.

Even though this hardware doesn't offer a huge choice - just horns and widebands -

the price is still sweet - about 5k rub.

[N]: Good speakers can't cost less than 7-8k rub, tey physically can't.

[N]: Nay, no way they can. Unreal.

Chrome-coated rims are already installed, and the interior's re-upholstered in-style.

Anyway, the car's on the last stage of project preparation.

Let's wish Nick luck in developing his own brand

and reaching new results.

Guys from 'Persona' studio, together with the Medveds...

[M]: Hello, dear friends!

...are working on a new project.

The car's initial story implied a different utilization style.

It was supposed to be used as designed.

Huge wheels were bought, a BMW 7-er interior, a winch etc.

But it didn't take long for it to switch to car audio.

They are unwilling to disclose many things 'cuz first they need to do them

to bac their words up.

Ah, not to jinx, really.

It might be even louder than the loudest project in Russia.

- Don't forget. The loudest is us.

Well, to be serious, the guys have set ambitious but achievable goals.

And the project's main focus is on stability and visualization

rather than on the indicated figures.

[A]: They all say that, alright.

[A]: Once they see nice figures, they all go, 'Here! Here is our freaking result! Zip it!'

The result could be seen this season.

Keep posted with LOUD NEWS. We'll sure tell you all about it.

And if you're lucky, you'll see the review of this ca on our channel.

The front and the rear are gonna be built with Pride.

Also, guys have promised to surprise us.

The car has bullet-proof glass installed as the frontal part,

the windscreen and side windows, to be precise.

A cage was welded, the body's reinforced.

One heck of a show-car, huh?

Back in time, show-cars would look like this.

And now - like this.

At the moment, the system is being worked on.

No info on the hardware so far.

- Bananaz!

Anyway, the car's focused on stability, not the result.

And armor-glass is, well, for the sake of the looks.

[Kadyrov laughs]

Sergey Remizov, a Team Alphard member and the owner of Alphard's Novosibirsk garage

where Russia's top cars are put together,

and not just Russia's, btw, 'cuz last year Sergey put together his Super-UAZ.

I mean, it's not even a Super-UAZ, it's a freaking bomb!

Some really serious stuff's been done there. Welding and reinforcement on everything possible.

Check out those doors! A grenade wouldn't take 'em down!

(plastic grenade sound)

Last season, Sergey became the World Champion in 'Under 5 kW' category.

He punched whole 177.7 dB!

He set a world record. And the record he had to beat was also his.

Don't you feel proud?!

[A]: Okay... Before you start typing that this is last year's news,

[A]: We're making this video for a huge number of people out of the know, guys.

[A]: They've only just found out there's a World Champion in Novosibirsk.

[A]: And only his team-mates know it. Not all of them.

Russia's main car audio trash-blogger Misha M!

[M]: Ha freakin' ha.

...built another trash project.

He's done every unthinkable thing! He's used an angle grinder instead of an amp.

- Genious!

He's installed subs into room doors.

He even taught us to brew moonshine.

- Let the moonshine lovely crop in my mouth drop by drop!

He decided to have a blast again.

This time he somehow managed to fit two 18"s into a sedan's rear shelf.

- Again?

- I can make it slow.

[M]: Freaking 18"s! In a shelf!

- Is that even possible?

I was as fcked as you are!

Well, at first, he tried, for some reason...

[M]: Loosen 'em up.

By 40 Hz. But...

[M]: Get this! No kick at all!

I mean, I get it. It's two freaking 18".

[M]: It only punches at infralow frequeencies.

But when he clipped it at 20 Hz...

[M]: It's so freaking hard! My eyeballs come off! My ears are smashed!

- It's his music. That's what plays in Hell.

[M]: No friction here, guys!

Well, we're waiting for more trash projects.

[M]: Sure, this is basically BS.

I mean, if only he installed a pair of Sony 1300...

[M]: Then - yes. It would be up in no time! This way - no.

DD Audio, a veteran of car audio industry, over 30 years on the market,

has blessed us with 3 new products.

'Cuz DD think not only about the profit but about our irregular solutions, too.

And always watches the quality.

[A]: Not for the profit. Right! Buy a DD, and to eat, suck your D. Heard that one?

A horn tweeter B4 is the older brother of the B3.

If you compare he two, what do you get?

- No. Thing.

[BRB]: But it's not certain.

B4 has the same rendering, sound quality and efficiency as the B3.

It has 50 W more power which makes it louder. And it's great news!

[BRB]: Now, this is certain.

And it has a wider radiation pattern.

Btw, check out its frequency response. The 5 to 20 kHz shelf is super sleek.

So, it's not just louder now but it renders frequencies more evenly.

It speaks for higher quality.

You can be sure to enter competitions with those.

[A]: Right. European right away.

[A]: Put a doorfull of horns and be, like, 'I've got a straight shelf 5 to 20 kHz. I don't give a sht!'

One more new item coming up soon is the renewed C-series.

Two 2-channels are to come: 2 by 100 and 2 by150 W.

And two 4-channels: 4 by 60 and 4 by 100 W.

The amps are AB-class which means the focus is on the quality of the sound

even though they do take up more space and heat up more than the D-class amps.

Each of them has 4 levels of security.

Voltage, alternated circuit, short circuit and overheating.

Each of them can have a regulator plugged to it.

The hookup and setting panel is on one side of the amp

which is very convenient.

I mean, the prices are not to be called low but the intel is it won't be over 20k rub.

- And now, the juiciest part.

I'm talking about the renewed subs of the Z-series.

I'm not messing with you. It really is a wonder-machine.

You could call it a legend. It made quite the noise back in the day!

[A]: Did we burn the previous series?

[A]: Might not've burnt, but there was smell. Legends always stink.

...by setting a few world records.

Btw, even tho it's 10 years now, it still can stand up to today's toppers.

The new design is more... cosmic, I guess. It's all black and red.

I think the designer has gone through all the Star Warrior movies

before designing this subwoofer.

[A]: Did he just say 'Warrior'? It's Star Wars, Stas.

The Z-series have assisted more than one world record.

and have participated in loads of crazy dailies.

In Russia, tho, it's not easy to get hold of a powerful DD sub.

But if you want, you can get it.

In our store, you can always get those in stock,

and put an order on those out.

I'm saying goodbye now.

Like, leave your comments. That's the best way to say Thanks to us.

And don't forget. We follow the Three S's Rule:

Subscribe, Share, Seriously!

Bye. everyone! Live LOUD!

I should've edited Misha M out of this issue. He...

Well, he was tasting some new moonshine

and blanked out so hard... I'll just tell you what it was.

His fingers and a part of his brain would still work. The rest - not.

So, he posted online, in some communities and on his wall

he posted stuff about some people, some of his own thoughts.

Most of it regarded genitalia in this or that respect.

Later, he deleted all of it, but held a grudge against everyone.

Sure, after he sobered up, he would apologize and stuff.

He is a good blogger and seems like a nice guy in general.

But, Misha, please, cut testing those moonshines.

Otherwise, I won't have the moral right to talk about you in these videos.

As for the clipping crap, let me warn you. Do not believe a single word of his.

It's so BS... But it's fun.

Anyway, from all my experience in car audio -

and I've seen plenty different people and plenty different cars -

I've come up with a wise thought:

Watch Misha M. But don't listen to him!

To all those writing, 'Get Alex back!' Alex is still here. I can't do everything myself.

I know many people like telenovelas here.

I mean... What I call teelnovelas is what's happening on YouTube at the moment:

the tendency of people to get used to the persona and watch them.

Whatever they do - cook a chicken or go fishing -

they're watching it 'cuz of the person, their charisma. It's basically a habit.

People like seeing their idols and stuff.

But there are people who like to learn about car audio.

And I get it. Stas might be a bit too raw for now.

But I've given the kid a chance, and, please, you support him, too.

Huge thanks to those who's already done it with the previous video.

He's good. Plus, this is, like, the third video he's ever done for YouTube.

He is quite talented, actually.

Make sure you cheer him up. Like the video.

Huge thanks to those who did it last time.

And... bye, everyone. Live LOUD.

And... what else? Should I mention KZ-13 or not?

Let's do it?

I mean, we've promised a lot.

Okay, guys, briefly.

This is gonna be presented... Is your arm sore or something?

Kuzya, man!

Okay, so. Guys... WTF is this doing here?

I asked you to take it away, didn't I?

So, this is the one-of-a-kind - I've said that a lot

but it is true. Steve Meade has a stand somewhat like this, and also Vitaliy -

I wanted to say Stradivari, but he's Gramps Vitos now.

But this stand has several differences from those you've seen before.

Some of them you can see already.

This stand can test 2 amps at a time,

and deliver the results onto this screen.

This stand helps us do it fast.

We have the capacity to change the impedance online.

We also have an unlimited power supply here.

We have almost all the indicators here on both in and out.

Starting with current and up to temp.

We can also see the voltage on each unit of lithium.

We have a monoblock PC here.

It's a full-size PC which can be used not only for measuring

but also to play some videos or device manuals. It's online, too.

We can do it all fast.

We have gradual signal control.

Well, it has a whole bunch of interesting stuff. I'll tell you all about it later.

The key idea is to make amp testing more entertaining for you and easier for us.

So that it, well, less pain in the butt.

'Cuz any amp testing is a real pain in the butt.

All those figures, calculators, papers... Something always goes south.

In here, it should be simpler.

To SPL Lab, thanks in advance.

In advance, 'cuz they are developing software for us.

Exclusively for this LOUD SOUND testing stand.

And we're lacking a table top.

We've ordered one made of black toughened glass.

We ordered it in Cupertino, so they're gonna make it like an iPad screen.

We'll have it like on an electric stove. We'll cook Borsht here.

Well, this was a tiny heads up on LOUD SOUND KZ-13 testing stand

named either after Kuzya or short for Krazy

which is basically the same.

And... what? Let me say it again. Bye, everyone. Live LOUD.

It was the third time, no?

Okay, let's do four. Bye, everyone. Live LOUD!

We have got ourselves a telegram chatroom with a real Basik.

He's supposed to be smart, too.

Join us there, read what our Basik's writing.

The smartest of you might even talk to him.

He does sometimes reply.

Like the video, and you're gonna be good. And live THE LOUDEST.

Collaborate With Other YouTubers (PART 1) - Duration: 5:13.

Hey, what's up guys? Grant Thompson and Kris Krohn. Today, we're going to be talking

about collaboration. - Collaboration. - How do you start with a brand new YouTube channel

and use collaborations to help grow it and how do you reach out and get those

collaborations started? That's exactly what we're talking about today.

So how do you get started with collaborations? We know they're important,

we know they're a good thing to do, how do you actually get into them? - And first

Grant, wait. You just got to break it down. For someone that's brand new, they're

like collaborations, like I heard that word someone says that on YouTube you

need to be doing that, what is a collaboration? - Yeah, so the collaboration

and in its essence is basically you partner up with somebody else who's

doing something similar to what you're doing on YouTube in this case and you do

a video together. Usually there's a one-for-one trade, you'll do a video with

them for their channel and they'll do a video with you for your channel. The

whole idea here is to cross audiences, to give you exposure to new audiences

because the channel you're working with is going to have their own following,

their own subscribers and you're going to have your own following, your own

subscribers and when you are both together exposing yourselves to these

audiences, there's a higher likelihood of gaining new subscribers and what we

say cross pollinating and you also get a chance to see how other people operate,

what kind of equipment they use, what their styles are for filming so it's a

really great way to just to educate yourself on how YouTube works, what's

working and skills that you can build in the very beginning you know, to lay a

foundation for successful. - Well I want to ask you this question. How soon

does someone have to wait before they can start collaborating? - Hmmm, that's a

fantastic question. Well if you've ever heard of Dwayne Johnson, Dwayne "The Rock"

Johnson, his very first videos on YouTube were collaborations, he actually teamed

up with some of the biggest people on YouTube so that when he came in, he

immediately went through a million subscribers in the first two weeks.

That was him leveraging other people's audiences to gain very quick exposure on

YouTube. He could leverage that because he's awesome and he's a celebrity but

for someone who doesn't have that kind of leverage, there still is no time limit

or qualification that you have to meet to do a collaboration so if you have

zero subscribers and zero videos, your very first video could be a

collaboration with someone else. - So how do you go about finding people to

collaborate with? - So the way you want to find collaborations is first of all, you

got to figure out what kind of value you have to offer.

I get emails everyday, I get comments everyday saying, "Can you give me a

shoutout?" "Can I come on your videos?" "Can you help me out?" If only people

knew about my channel and that's great, I would love to help out everybody

if I could but I also see everybody just wants to take take take take so as a

creator, it's much more beneficial to me if someone has something that I would

actually be really interested in, has great value for me and says hey, can I

exchange this value with you in exchange for a shoutout to my channel? So I think

that that could make sense like for example, I've got

60,000 subscribers and I'm collaborating with someone else that has 70,000

subscribers and basically if we're doing this video for each other on each other's

sites you know, we're probably going to get some kind of boost and growth in numbers

as some other people saying hey, I also want to subscribe to Kris, some of

Kris' people saying, hey, I want to go subscribe to friend over there and

that makes sense so what do you do when you know, when you're small, can you only

collaborate with people that basically have similar channel size or are there

other values that you found that you could offer people? - Well that's how I say

what you got to figure out what kind of value have to offer. If you have value

that's enormous, say you are expert at your field, you're really good at what

you do, nobody else can do it and you can help create some epic content for this

other creator that has millions of subscribers, content that they couldn't

get any other way, they would be passionate about, they would love to be

involved in that you know, for example, I had a company reached out saying hey, you

want to be involved in our jetpack that we made? At the time, I didn't

make the space to make that a priority and now I'd probably love to do that but

they put all this work in developing, a jetpack that actually works, they would

come to me and sure, I'll give them a shout out, feature them in my video

because that's bringing epic value to me. Now someone who doesn't have value might

have a lot of money, if you reach out to a big creator and say I will pay you a

bunch of money to give me a shoutout, they might be interested but for the

average person out there getting started, I would say look for similar people with

similar subscriber bases who have similar interests as you, it will be very

natural to reach out to someone with a couple hundred subscribers and say let's

do a video together, that's very non-threatening and you're

both learning together. I think there's also something to be said with the

amount of experience you have because the last thing a big creator wants to do

is give a shoutout to a channel that doesn't really know what they're doing

and send all this traffic their way only to kind of end up disappointing

everybody and then feeling like oh, I was the one

recommended this and it all fell through. - So there's got to be really a feeling

in a sense of equality like, hey, we both have things to gain there or ways that

we can mutually create value and if it's one-sided, it's not going down. - No, it has

to be equal value and that value either comes from you both have the same amount

of subscribers that you can share or you're willing to pay for the value or

you just have some inherent value that's really awesome that will help that

content creator on their channel. So I think those are the three areas to really

define where your strong. Hey guys, we are cutting it off here but the information

will continue in the next video and if you're ready to start monetizing YouTube
