DIY Montreal Channel Intro - Duration: 2:12.

Making YouTube videos has been a real learning process for me so far. It can be a

lot of fun but also frustrating, like when you're recording your channel intro

and you forget to plug in your mic... frustrating.

So, here's take two. Hi there and welcome to my channel DIY Montreal. On this

channel I do mostly woodworking and DIY projects, things like making woodworking

jigs, shop projects, furniture, lighting, and much much more. Between the videos

that I post on my youtube channel and the related blog posts that I put on my

website, I try to give you as many details as I can so that you can build

whatever I'm building yourself at home. My name is Mary, or is it Marie? ;)

My name is Marie that's M-a-r-i-e. I'm french Canadian.

Hello to all my french speaking friends! I'm from Montreal Canada, as

my channel name may have given it away. That's in the province of Quebec, in

Canada, right there. Now I want you to know that everything I make on this

channel is usually the very first time ever that I attempt to make it.

Luckily for me they usually turn out pretty good. On the rare occasions they don't, I try

to point out what I did wrong and how you can avoid making the mistakes that I

made at home. Now I do this for a couple of reasons. Number one I just like to

make stuff! I've always had a passion for figuring out how stuff is made so

whenever I try a new project I do a lot of research before trying it. I don't

just take a stab in the dark and hope for the best. And number two because I

want to show you that you can do it too! Even if you're a beginner and you have

limited experience, by learning the appropriate techniques you can do it too.

Alright to get you started here a few videos that I recommend to show you what

DIY Montreal is all about. If you like what you see I hope you'll subscribe to my

Galaxy S9 e S9 Plus: toda a verdade em nossa análise prévia - Duration: 6:55.

We are here in New York

where we bought the new Galaxy S9

and Galaxy S9 Plus

in order to publish this preview

before the devices hit the Brazilian market

and to can tell the naked truth about them.

The Galaxy S9 has caught a lot of attention

from the tech media

and even before hitting the stores, it scored awards regarding

best display, best camera

and even the famous gamer Zlatan Ibrahimovic

ditched his iPhone for the Galaxy S9.

But are these new smartphones

really good

or is it just a marketing strategy?

The box is the same from last year's

and opening it,

we find the usual:

user manual;

SIM and memory card tray

ejection tool

power adapter

with fast charging;

USB Type-C cable;

USB Type-C to Type-A converter;

and last but not least, the AKG earphones

that on the Galaxy S8 review we discovered

are one of the best that we've already tested.

Can you tell the difference between

the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S8?

No?

Besides the new ultraviolet color

thatÕs it, the difference relies only

on the improved position

for the fingerprint reader.

Better now than never, right?

The curved screen and glass body of the Galaxy S8

didnÕt guarantee durability.

On that matter, Samsung has reinforced the body

and glass on the Galaxy S9,

that now has the same material used on the iPhone 6s

because of the bendgate issue

When the iPhone 6 used to bend easily.

This extra reinforcement has a negative side:

thickness and weight have increased

even in a body that is not noticeably smaller

than the Galaxy S8.

If you are looking for new stuff on the S9,

it wonÕt be easy to spot it

The battery hasnÕt change anything

comparing to last year's

and we still don't know if the Snapdragon 845

is better regarding battery saving

Samsung has also settled in with the Infinity Display.

It didnÕt embrace the notch nor included

an on-screen fingerprint reader

like itÕs minor rival competitors did to innovate.

The Bixby button

still can't be customized.

And speaking about the virtual assistant,

itÕs still limited to Korean and English languages

but now, it has a new rival when competing

for the most useless feature positon, on the Galaxy S lineup.

"Hi, I am the AR Emoji, a bad

Apple Animoji knock-off,

to the point that

I canÕt even lip-sync right."

Right, the Snapdragon 845 on the Galaxy S9 is fast,

But in our previous tests it wasn't able to

outperform the TudoCelularÕs ranking king:

OnePlus 5T, that one with the Snapdragon 835,

aside of that, it also failed to outperform the iPhone X.

Looking on the bright side, at the AnTuTu test,

He outperformed both of them

But does Galaxy S9 even bring anything new to the table?

Hold on, itÕs not like that.

It's the first time in Samsung's history

that we're seeing stereo speakers

and they even come with the Dolby Atmos technology.

Now, the heart rate sensor

can also measure blood pressure

and in a surprisingly accurate way;

believe me, you'll need it

when you find out about Samsung's price tag

for the Brazilian market.

Now, it's also possible to record

in 4K at 60 frames per second,

but with a 5 minute time limit.

Apple already offers this feature on the iPhone 8,

but even better, without setting any time limitations.

The super slow-motion camera at 960 frames per second

is another new feature

Another one inspired by SamsungÕs rivals,

Now we're looking at Sony,

that already had the same feature

on the Xperia XZ Premium.

ThereÕs even a better version

that can record in Full HD, on the Xperia XZ2.

The camera on the Galaxy S9 is the only new feature here.

But was it really reimagined?

Or, judging by itÕs looks, it's the same used on the Galaxy Note 8?

The Samsung-Sony partnership has come to an end,

since the Galaxy Note 8, the sensors

are manufactured exclusively by Samsung.

It's also the first time a smartphone

incorporates a variable aperture that can work

just like the ones inside a professional camera

The lens opens for 1.5 or closes for 2.4,

depending on the ambient light

Increasing or reducing the space where the light passes through

It's like mimicking the human eye anatomy

To adapt for the scenario

The lower the number is, better is the aperture.

And nowadays, no other smartphone

has an aperture that great, like the Galaxy S9,

Which means that pictures shot in low light

Are, in theory, better

But, is this really truth?

This is a photo of the Central Park

with low light and 2.4 aperture

this is another one with 1.5.

It's way brighter

Here, the picture shot at night with 2.4 aperture is way too dark,

when comparing to the one that used 1.5,

that it's perfect!

but what about is the difference between

the galaxy S8 with 1.7 aperture

and the new 1.5 aperture from the S9?

This is a picture shot by the Galaxy S8

And this one was shot by the S9 with 1.5 aperture.

the differences relies on the tiny details.

Here's a picture, shot at night, using the Galaxy S8,

and this one shot by the S9 with 1.5 aperture,

here everything changes, except for the brightness

that theoretically should've been better.

We saw a lot of differences in quality

thanks to the new sensor

but it seems like the better aperture,

at the end, doesn't have a lot of impact.

And what about the new features on the S9+? Well, nothing.

It's the same we had on the S8+

But it has the Galaxy Note 8's dual-camera

And the S9's variable aperture

And what's the difference when comparing

with the S9's camera?

Well, there are no perceptible differences,

neither with light,

nor with dark environments

But there's the 2x optical zoom

and also the blur selection tool

before capturing the image

It seems like it's a Note 8 camera in a different body

like we saw in our MWC tests

unnoticeable diferences, regarding quality and brightness.

Samsung tried to add a professional feature

in a domestic product:

But are the professionals going to like pictures taken with the S9?

No! Because of the saturation

Does this means that it uses just a trick to

capture better pictures in lowlight?

Yeah, exactly that.

Does it work? Well, a little.

What we can assure in this first contact is

that with the new Samsung smartphones:

We have a mix between Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8.

Samsung Experience arrives outdated.

While the S9 brings Android 8,

even the S8 already received the 8.1 version.

And nowadays you can find:

The Galaxy S8 for almost half of the price of the S9

The Note 8 with a similar camera quality

for two thirds of the value.

The Xperia XZ Premium with the Super slow-motion camera

offered by half of the price.

4K video recording at 60 frames por second on the iPhone 8 and X

But if you want all of this in a single package

then the S9 is for you

Knowing that you're going to pay for

probably the worst cost-benefit device of 2018.

So, what do we recommend?

Don't get it at launch time.

Check out our purchase guides.

And wait until we publish our battery tests,

Performance tests, display and camera comparisons,

To make sure if the S9

is really worth all the investment.

That's it, you can find more

details on the article linked below,

and on the links you see in the cards

And also in the video description,

altogether with our previous de camera tests.

And if you have any doubt or suggestion

About the Galaxy S9 or the Galaxy S9 Plus,

please, leave a comment

That we'll be happy to reply.

That's it TudoCelular fans, see you next time!

8 Medications with Surprising Secondary Uses - Duration: 10:37.

[ ♪ Intro ]

Modern medicine is pretty incredible.

Walk into any drug store and you'll see shelves of pills and syrups to treat your

drippy nose, your rumbly stomach, or your aching back.

The pharmaceutical industry has poured billions of dollars into coming up with new treatments

for everything from the common cold to cancer — but not every treatment is brand new.

Medications that were developed to treat one condition can end up being useful for seemingly

unrelated ailments, which actually involve similar parts of the body or brain.

Here are 8 medications that turned out to do more than researchers initially thought.

First up is dextromethorphan.

You might recognize it as the main ingredient in your favorite over-the-counter cough suppressant.

This medication helps ease your hacking, but it doesn't work like some cough medicines

that loosen mucus in your windpipe.

Instead, dextromethorphan acts on your brain.

It basically tells your lungs to chill out.

It's actually an opioid derivative, and we think it binds to and blocks a bunch of

different neurotransmitter receptors, like NMDA and serotonin receptors.

That's why it's useful for treating other conditions.

Dextromethorphan, combined with another chemical that keeps it from being broken down as quickly,

is actually the only FDA-approved medication for treating pseudobulbar affect — where

a person can't control episodes of laughing or crying.

It's usually seen after a stroke or a brain injury or in neurodegenerative conditions.

In a healthy brain, there's a careful balance between excitatory signaling and inhibitory

signaling — telling cells to fire off a message or not to fire.

Pseudobulbar affect is considered a disinhibition syndrome, meaning there's less inhibitory

signaling than normal.

So the balance is off and there's too much firing in the cells that control emotions.

Dextromethorphan is thought to help because it can block NMDA receptors, which reduces

excitatory signaling and restores overall balance.

This helps patients better control their emotional expressions, so when they get the giggles,

it's not because they literally can't help it.

Dextromethorphan isn't the only drug that blocks NMDA receptors.

There's also memantine, a drug that's usually used to treat Alzheimer's disease.

Alzheimer's is really complex, but scientists think that one of the big problems is something

called glutamate toxicity.

Glutamate is a neurotransmitter involved in excitatory signaling in the brain.

So when there's too much excitatory signaling, a lot of extra glutamate ends up hanging around

and binding to receptors.

And over time, this overdose can kill neurons.

So the logic behind memantine is that blocking NMDA receptors could reduce glutamate signaling

and prevent that toxicity.

And it seems to work!

Several review papers that looked at multiple studies showed that it can help with cognitive

function and agitation in Alzheimer's patients.

But memantine might also help with other brain conditions, like obsessive compulsive disorder,

or OCD.

OCD is fairly common — an estimated 1-3% of the U.S. population has it.

But there aren't too many medications to treat the symptoms.

These range from persistent anxiety-causing obsessions about things like germs, to feeling

compelled to do certain repetitive actions, like turning the lights on and off.

Recently, scientists have noticed that in both human and animal studies, changes in

glutamate signaling in the brain seem to contribute to OCD symptoms.

So they decided to try drugs that interact with NMDA receptors to balance things out.

And several clinical trials seem to show that memantine improves symptoms more than a placebo

— which is good news for OCD patients who are struggling to find a treatment that works for them.

Addictions can be hard to kick, but scientists have been working on medications like naltrexone

that can help.

It's usually prescribed as part of addiction treatment for opioids, like heroin.

These drugs activate opioid receptors in the brain, which kicks off the biological processes

that trigger feelings of pleasure and reward.

Over time, repeated use of the drug can change signaling in the brain so that someone needs

the drug to feel normal, and without the drug they can't really function.

And that's when it becomes an addiction.

Naltrexone binds to opioid receptors, too — but instead of activating them, it blocks them.

That way, it can keep addictive drugs from interacting with brain cells as much.

It's also prescribed to help with alcohol addiction, but it's not totally clear how

this works, since ethanol molecules don't bind to opioid receptors.

One hypothesis is that when an addicted brain gets flooded with ethanol, it releases endorphins,

which also activate the opioid system and could reinforce the behavior.

And that's what naltrexone might help stop.

Now, naltrexone is also being used to treat behavioral addictions, like gambling or compulsive

hair pulling.

This might not seem super surprising — after all, what works for one addiction should work

for another, right?

But think about it this way: when someone takes opioids or drinks alcohol, those substances

get in their bloodstream and bind to receptors in their brain, leading to physical effects

and contributing to addiction.

Behavioral addictions don't involve a substance.

They're a result of how a particular behavior makes a person feel.

So naltrexone seems to treat addiction whether there's a physical substance or not.

And that seems to suggest that endorphins or opioids binding to opioid receptors activate

the same pathways.

And the more scientists understand about addiction and the brain pathways involved, the better

we can treat it.

The drug sildenafil was originally developed to treat problems like pulmonary hypertension.

That's where arteries and capillaries in the lungs and heart get constricted, making

it harder for blood to flow properly.

So the heart has to work harder to pump, which can make it weaker over time.

Specifically, sildenafil blocks the activity of an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type

5, or PDE5.

PDE5 breaks down another compound that's involved in relaxing smooth muscles — the

ones that surround blood vessels and some organs like the intestines.

So when PDE5 is active, those muscles contract and blood vessels get narrower.

And blocking the enzyme lets them relax, leading to more blood flow.

During the testing phase of sildenafil, scientists noticed that it not only affected blood vessels

in the lungs — it also affected blood vessels in the penis, because PDE5 is really active

there too.

And this meant a bonus side effect: long-lasting erections.

As a result of this … perk, the pharmaceutical company rebranded the drug as an erectile

dysfunction medication and continued research.

So sildenafil is now well known as Viagra.

There are other hypertension drugs with useful side effects, too.

Like spironolactone, which was developed for treating high blood pressure and heart failure.

This medicine blocks the binding of aldosterone, a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands right

above your kidneys.

Aldosterone tells kidney cells to reabsorb sodium so you don't pee it out, which helps

keep your body's salt levels balanced.

And all those salts are pretty important.

They keep your nerves firing, your muscles functioning, and your fluids balanced — so

your cells stay nice and plump without getting too swollen.

But when there's too much aldosterone, too much sodium gets absorbed back into the bloodstream.

That, in turn, makes more water get reabsorbed, which means there's a lot more fluid packed

into your blood vessels — causing high blood pressure.

So when spironolactone binds to and blocks these receptors, aldosterone can't do as

much, and blood pressure goes down.

But then doctors noticed that spironolactone also blocks progesterone and androgen receptors,

which opened the door to new possible uses — like treating hormonal acne.

Blocking androgen receptors means androgen hormones can't bind.

And this can lead to perks like less sebum — that oily gunk that protects your skin

from drying out, but causes zits if there's too much of it.

But because it blocks androgen hormones like testosterone, it can have side effects in

biosex males — including gynecomastia, which is the growth of male breast tissue, and reduced fertility.

In fact, spironolactone is so effective at blocking androgens that it can be prescribed

along with estrogen for transwomen who choose to undergo hormone therapy.

Propranolol is another drug used to treat hypertension — but in a different way.

It's a beta blocker, named because they block beta-adrenergic receptors, which are

mostly found in organs like the heart and kidneys.

Propranolol keeps chemicals like epinephrine and norepinephrine from binding — which

you might know by a different name: adrenaline and noradrenaline.

These compounds kick your body into gear, getting your heart to pump faster, dilating

your pupils, and making you more alert.

All that "adrenaline rush" stuff.

So the main effect of a beta blocker on the heart is to make it beat slower, lowering

blood pressure.

But research seems to show that propranolol might also help with certain kinds of anxiety

— though it's not totally clear how it works, and the data is spotty.

It could be because propranolol reduces the physiological sensations of high stress — like

the sweaty palms and fast breathing that are also caused by epinephrine signaling.

Without those sensations, anxiety levels in the brain might not spike as much, which could

be enough to show some confidence before a speech or an important interview.

And the list of hypertension medications with useful side effects doesn't stop there!

A drug called minoxidil was developed to open potassium channels in smooth muscle cells,

like the ones that line blood vessels.

Opening these channels lets potassium ions flow through, which sets off a chain reaction

that ultimately causes the muscle cells to relax.

And this leads to wider blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

But one of the side effects of minoxidil is hypertrichosis, which is a fancy way of saying

a lot of hair growth.

So it's also a great hair loss treatment.

You've probably even heard of it before — as the brand name Rogaine.

What's going on molecularly is a bit of a mystery.

But some researchers think that because minoxidil can cause more blood flow, this provides more

nutrients to the hair follicles and can encourage new cell growth.

What we do know is that minoxidil seems to shorten the length of telogen, the resting

phase of the hair growth cycle.

See, every strand of your hair isn't always growing.

Hair follicles chill in telogen for a few months before kicking back into anagen, the

growing phase where new hairs are formed.

So by shortening telogen and jumpstarting anagen, minoxidil can encourage new hair to

grow before it would have on its own.

And that's not the only medication that surprisingly affects hair.

Bimatoprost is a drug that's usually prescribed to treat glaucoma.

Glaucoma is condition where a buildup of fluid increases the pressure inside someone's

eye, to the point of damaging the optic nerve.

If it's not treated, it can lead to loss of sight and even total blindness.

Bimatoprost is a synthetic prostaglandin, a hormone-like chemical found throughout the

body that helps the eye drain extra fluid, getting the pressure closer to normal.

It's not totally clear how bimatoprost interacts with certain eye tissue to activate pathways

involved in drainage, but it seems to work.

And it comes in an eyedropper form, making it easy for patients to use.

But once again, doctors noticed a weird side effect: patients using bimatoprost found that

their eyelashes were growing longer than normal.

And after some more research, it's officially FDA-approved for cosmetic use, and marketed as Latisse.

It's not entirely clear how bimatoprost encourages eyelash growth, either.

But it seems like it encourages eyelash follicles to jump back into the anagen phase prematurely,

like minoxidil.

And it even seems to stimulate melanin production in pigment-producing cells, which leads to

longer, darker, fuller eyelashes.

All of these medications were initially developed with one goal in mind, but we learned a lot

from studying all of their effects.

These discoveries give doctors and patients more options for treating medical conditions…

and for fixing their cosmetic woes.

So we can't really knock a treatment until we've tried it — with peer-reviewed clinical

trials, of course.

Parkland Kids Arrested But Media REFUSES To Report It For FOUL Reason - Duration: 5:30.

Parkland Kids Arrested For Bringing Weapons To School – Media REFUSES To Report It For

FOUL Reason.

Over the weekend the March for Our Lives took place all across the nation.

Over 800 American cities hosted individual marches, with the primary one being in Washington,

D.C. in the nation's capital.

Prior to the marches, Parkland, Florida high school students were caught bringing weapons

into their school at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High.

This past Tuesday two students at the high school were arrested by law enforcement officials

for bringing weapons into the school, specifically knives.

One of the students was Jordan Salter.

The second individual was unidentified.

Several concerning incidents have taken place at the high school since the shooting took

place.

In an unrelated incident, a third student was sent to the hospital for mental observation

because he had posted threats against other students on the Douglas student online forum.

While the initial threat was that of a gun the picture was found to not have a real gun

but instead a BB gun.

The Sun Sentinel reported,

'Tuesday's school day began with the arrest of Jordan Salter, 18, after a conflict in

the cafeteria.

She poured cereal on another student's head after he asked Salter's friend a sexually

offensive question.

When the boy leaned in close to Salter's face, she pulled a 2-inch black knife from

her bra, opened it and displayed it, according to a report from the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The next arrest came in the afternoon when school authorities learned that Gavin Stricker,

16, had brandished a knife on a bus Monday.

He was called into the school's office and a 9-inch knife was found in his backpack,

according to a juvenile arrest report.

The third troubling event developed after screenshots of a sophomore's Snapchat social

media account circulated around campus.

It showed the boy posing with a gun in his waistband along with images of bullets.

The photos were captioned with "catch me out here n—-" and one referenced a student

named Josh, the sheriff's office said.

The student, who was hospitalized for a mental-health evaluation, told a detective that the firearm

in the photo was a BB gun and the bullets belonged to his father, according to a sheriff's

office report.

He faces a misdemeanor charge for disrupting school with the social media threat.

His hospitalization, under the state's Baker Act, was prompted by self-inflicted wounds

on his left arm, the report said.

The same student used the name "NickCruz" — an ominous nod toward the former student

who has admitted to last month's shooting spree — as his moniker for the online game

Fortnite, according to the report.

After he successfully clears a mental-health evaluation, the student will be taken to juvenile

hall, the sheriff's office said.

Zachary Cruz, branded a threat by prosecutors, is jailed on a $500,000 bond.

Since his arrest Monday, he has been taken to a hospital for involuntary psychiatric

treatment, the sheriff's office said.

Meanwhile, Amanda Stricker, mother of the boy who had a knife in his backpack, fought

back tears as she explained that his sister was in one of the classrooms that got shot

up during Cruz's deadly rampage.

She said school authorities told her that her son admitted to carrying the knife "for

protection.'

"I think he was as scared as the rest of us were," Amanda Stricker said.

"We thought he was doing OK, and I think he wasn't doing as well as we thought he

was."

Broward schools Superintendent Robert Runcie said Stoneman Douglas has been rocked to its

core and every new development takes on "a whole different level of awareness."

"When a school gets impacted by an event like this, it changes the school," he said.

"We'll see what the impacts are over time.

People are still affected.

Kids are grieving and concerned.

They have fears.

We need to continue to be sensitive to that at the same time we try to function in as

normal a sense as we can, recognizing this is not a normal state we're in and extra

vigilance is required.

We'll continue to do what we can to support the community."

In light of Zachary Cruz's unlawful entry onto school grounds, district staff are reviewing

security protocols, Runcie said.

Security is beefed up during the school day, he said, but not after school is dismissed.

The district may expand heightened security until 6 p.m., he said, so that students participating

in after-school activities are protected."

We didn't see a lot about the arrests on MSM, apparently, it doesn't fit their narrative.

In both cases where the students were detained for having knives, it appears they had knives

because they wanted them for personal safety purposes.

However, in all likelihood students will not be able to continue doing this because the

high school has put in place a requirement to wear clear backpacks, in light of the shooting

to try and increase security protection.

Many of the high school students partook in the March for Our Lives in Washington, D.C.

while many stayed behind in Florida to partake in the marching activities.

A number of students have remained active in the media regarding their staunch opposition

to any politician, who accepts donations from the National Rifle Association as well as

their support for comprehensive gun control reform.

In October 2014, Joe and Teresa Giudice were sentenced to prison for various counts of

mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud.

While Teresa has since completed her stint behind bars, Joe is currently serving his

sentence of 41 months, which began in March 2016.

The harsh sentence, according to People, was because the couple allegedly hid their assets

Teresa updated fans, telling E! News her hubby's lost over 35 pounds behind bars, saying,

"He's doing the same thing I did: like, just reading a lot of books, exercising, just keeping

his head focused on doing what he has to do."

Apollo Nida

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks' estranged husband, Apollo Nida, is

serving an 8-year sentence on mail, wire, and bank fraud charges, according to People.

An attorney for Nida told People,

"Right now he feels remorse.

He thought the judge was fair, and accepts his sentence, although he was hoping it would

be less.

[...] He's OK, and will get through this."

Even while Nida is divorcing Parks, he's found a new woman, while serving his time.

Per Us Weekly, he's engaged to marry Sherien Almufti, who appeared on the fall 2016 season

of Housewives, and who reportedly visits Nida in prison on weekends.

Sam Hurd

Former pro-football star Sam Hurd could have been one of the league's most prized players,

but now, he's serving 15 years behind bars for his role in a drug-distribution hustle,

instead.

According to USA Today, Hurd was rounded up during a sting at a Chicago steakhouse.

He reportedly chatted up an undercover cop and attempted to buy 5 to 10 kilograms of

cocaine and 1,000 pounds of marijuana to distribute on the streets.

Hurd told the court,

"I regret not thinking about the consequences.

I made some dumb, very bad decisions."

In 2015, according to ABC 7, Hurd filed a motion to have his sentence reduced from 15

years to nine.

His request was denied.

Phil Spector

Music producer Phil Spector will possibly spend the rest of his life behind bars for

the death of actress Lana Clarkson.

In 2003, Clarkson was discovered dead, sitting in a chair, in Spector's home.

She'd been shot in the mouth.

Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life behind bars on second-degree murder charges

and ordered to pay the victim's funeral costs.

His attorney reportedly forked over a $17,000 check.

Clarkson's mother told the court,

"All of our plans are destroyed.

Now, I can only visit [Lana] at a cemetery."

Oscar Pistorius

South Africa's Oscar Pistorius became one of the world's most renowned athletes when

he sprinted in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London as a double amputee.

But he made headlines of another sort the following year.

In the early hours of February 14, 2013, he reportedly fired four shots into a closed

bathroom door, killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

According to CNN, Pistorius said he thought an intruder was in his home, but the prosecution

claimed he killed Steenkamp after an argument.

Pistorius was convicted of manslaughter in 2014 and sentenced to five years in prison.

He served one year and then was put on house arrest, but his conviction was overturned

and upgraded to murder by a higher court in 2015, according to CNN.

Pistorius was sentenced to six years following the new verdict, with a later verdict increasing

that number further to 15 years.

Rae Carruth

As a promising NFL player in the late '90s, Rae Carruth's career was exploding, but then

he did the unthinkable in 1999.

According to The Charlotte Observer,

"Carruth wanted to kill his on-and-off girlfriend because she was eight months pregnant with

his child and he didn't want to pay child support.

He hired a hitman to pull the trigger."

Cherica Adams was reported gunned down in a drive-by shooting, but her unborn baby survived.

Carruth was sentenced to 18 years and 11 months in prison, according to the Observer.

His son, Chancellor, who suffers from cerebral palsy, is cared for by Adams' mother, Saundra.

Joshua Allen

So You Think You Can Dance Season 4 winner Joshua Allen was sentenced in August 2017

to one year in prison after pleading not guilty to charges of felony domestic violence and

felony assault with a deadly weapon.

Previous reports alleged that Allen attacked his girlfriend twice in two months.

According to Deadline, Allen was also slapped with five years' probation, must complete

52 weeks of domestic violence counseling, and must stay away from his ex for 10 years.

Meek Mill

Rapper Meek Mill is currently serving a two-to-four year sentence at the Pennsylvania State Correctional

Institution after violating his probation from a 2008 gun-related charge.

Mill was arrested twice in 2017–for misdemeanor assault in March, and for reckless endangerment

in August, according to People.

The misdemeanor assault charge was later dropped, and Mill pleaded guilty to reckless driving

for the August incident.

According to People, Mill was also placed under a 90-day house arrest for violating

the terms of his probation in 2016.

7 LIFE LESSONS BY MY CATS | Jonna Delvert - Duration: 11:12.

My name is Jonna and welcome to my channel!

Today I'm going to talk about..

LET OUR PRESENT ...

I have two cats. One is called Lukas (sign name: cat-white)

Oh, that's my dead cat...

I have two cats. One is called Leon (cat-lion) and the other Grålle (cat-black)

I love them so much! They have taught me a lot about life.

Many people think the only thing cats do is to cuddle, but it's not true.

Cats teach you more than you think! They give you more love than you think.

If you follow me on social media, you know that I LOVE cats.

Because, like the only one thing I post in my social medias is my cats.

Sometimes I feel sorry for people following me that dislikes cats, because..

You see my cats all the time.

Sorry?..

I told you that my cats taught me a lot about life.

But what things?

Look now.

(I'm signing in ASL)

I'm impressed by my cats since they don't care what others think at all.

Random guests will be visiting, and they still don't care. They continue with what they're doing, people pet them

and they're full of enjoyment. They're living the life. What they do in life:

What else?

No drama, fights, jealousy .. bla, bla.

Things we people are experts at.

Sometimes I get irritated by people, even by myself, that we cares way too much.

Often it's all about the small things which we really don't care about,

but yet we give so much energy to them. Things that doesn't matter really.

I'm looking at my cats. They're bothered by nothing. Like, ''K''.

Such an attitude.. we people need it sometimes.

So what did my cats teach me?

Oh yeah, there are some people, events and discussions that are pointless.

And still, I tend to waste my energy on them. Meantime.. what are my cats doing? They rest.

I'll then do the same and end the discussion.

Grålle is great and everything. But what is his habit?

Using his claws.

Grålle has sharp claws, so when you get clawed..

You die.

I don't get angry because it's often me mysef that made the accident to happen.

To be honest, I'm devilish sometimes and I tend to tease my cats with my feet or hands.

Finally, he tear me apart. Nothing strange about it.

I'm getting hurt and realize how dumb it was. Obviously the cat got annoyed!..

I'm learning of it. The same thing goes to society, whether if it's all about a human being, an event or

in politics.. If something's wrong, use your claws! Or, yes, speak up.

Especially deaf people can be very withdrawn.

There's a word, AUDISM

That means hearing people oppressing deaf people, no matter how and in what form. Audism.

When deaf people is being pushed down, many of them can say:

- Yes, okay. That's okay. I'm deaf, which means I'm bad. It's okay to oppress me.

- I don't want to fight, because I just can't take it. I don't want to be annoying. So, yeah.

But if you're quiet and don't do anything, nothing will change either.

You can't expect a change. You can't complain about how oppressed you are.

You can't continue to think that you should be treated with equal value but at the same time be quiet.

It doesn't work that way.

Please, open your eyes! You know what your rights are, listen to them!

For example, if we look at Nelson Mandela, he fought for the black people's rights.

See what he accomplished today! He did lift up the black people's positions in society effectively.

It's not 100% equal today yet, but he had a great influence. It's historic.

But how? He used his claws. He spoke up.

You knows that Grålle likes to use his claws. But Leon?

Now you probably thinks that I come from a very mean family where we don't respect our cats,

which causes my cats to use their claws or their teeth.. But, no. Let me explain.

Leon doesn't bite because he's angry.

He bites because he loves us.

We've checked it up, he's not hurt or anything. It's just his way of showing love.

Why?

He taught me that love comes in all shapes.

I don't have to say, ''I love you'', give hugs and kisses.

You can still show ur love in another way. But wait, I don't mean that violence in relationships is counted as love,

if someone bites you, there's probably something wrong with that person. But, you understand what I mean.

You can show love through different ways!

Or?.. Or what am I talking about now?

Grålle is super-allergic to lactose. He get a lot of diarrhea by it..

Yes um, we don't need to go into details.

But I'm the same. I can't tolerate lactose either.

But the difference is that I exclude milk products in my diet, to lactose-free products and so on.

What does Grålle do then? He doesn't care. If he sees food with a lot of milk in it, like ...

cheese, butter, ice cream.. Things that he shouldn't eat - he's crazy in them.

It ends with him being ill. Nevertheless, he continues to try to eat these again and again.

He never learns! The same thing happens over and over again.

That Grålle taught me is..

Sometimes I shouldn't let the allergy stop my life. Eat the products anyway.

Both of my cats, as my old cats, doesn't give a flying fuck about the quality on toys.

They doesn't care if it costs 60$ or 120$, if it contains real gold..

I notice that when I buy the more expensive toys, things that looks funnier than the others,

my cats doesn't think the same. They just don't care.

It's the only negative thing with cats: they're not grateful. They need to be better at it.

I admit that I cares too much about branded clothes. Like, I want clothes with visible brands.

But my cats have shown to me that sometimes it doesn't matter how much it cost.

Just that it feels good and works well, so.. it's all good.

I've now told you a lot of massive things about why I love cats. But...

Actually, really.. Really..

.. I'm allergic to cats.

I was told recently, maybe last year or two, that I was allergic to cats.

I hate myself.

Though I'm not that allergic. What I can't do is to pet my cats for several hours,

and to sleep in the same room as the cats because they drop a lot of hair during the time.

Such ridiculous things. Am I going to sell them just because I'm allergic?

But my point is; my cats respect it. My cats know that they can't enter my room,

since I repeatedly screamed at them, scared them away and banned them from entering my room.(zero violence)

Finally, now they have learned. The door of my room is usually open, but they still won't come into my room.

They stay right at the door, looks at me and goes away. They won't touch my room's floor.

It's because they KNOWS it's a cat-free room.

We can see it in the same way toward people.

There are some people who are allergic to you. There are some who envy you, some who don't like you,

some who won't feel comfortable with you. Unfortunately, you can't be loved by everyone.

So if someone doesn't like you, just respect that person.

Be with the people you like instead!

My parents have a big decor in the bedroom, where it says ''Love Forgive Forget''.

I think it's...

I shiver when I see it. Because it's so CRINGE.

Similar to quotes like ''YOLO'', ''Live Laugh Love''..

I can't handle it. But if I'm thinking more about it..

.. then ''Love Forgive Forget'' has a good meaning really.

Because it's what it should be.

And my cats proved it.

What I do mean? Well, there are situations where me and my cat are fighting. For real.

I can punish the cat for anything wrong it has done (never in a violence way), or if the cat is too rough

The cat will get mad at me. But after ten minutes,

the cat forgive and cuddle with me again like nothing happened.

I think that's good! Because being mad in hours doesn't solve anything.

I'm one of those people that have a hard time forgiving people, especially if I get hurt.

But sometimes I think, ''What's the good in doing so? It's better to just forget it and have another go.''

So, thank you my cat!

It was all the things my cat taught me about life!

Sometimes it feels like I want to grab my cats and tell them how grateful I am to have them,

but they won't understand anything. They can't talk. How can I even thank them?!

Perhaps, cats may actually have some function in the brain that allows them to join in different forums online

with other cats. Meanwhile they sleep, they're writing forum posts inside the brain,

''I hate people! Fuck them! Damn people!''

A online forum with other cats that takes over the world.

And we people say, ''Poor them, they can't talk!''

Oh my god, I hope FBI or something doesn't bring me to a mental hospital..

But honestly, you've been thinking about it too huh? Am I right?

What if..

No? Forget it.

Thank you for looking at my Youtube channel! If you liked this video, subscribe if you haven't already!

And ... Awww!

This is Leon, the one who bites.

Many people say that they want babies, that they have a baby fever..

EYE SWATCHES! Jeffree Star BLOOD SUGAR PALETTE!!! - Duration: 6:09.

What up guys? Ashley Elizabeth here with AEHM artistry and I have been waiting!!!

I've been dying to get my hands on it and it finally came today! Just a couple

hours ago, now that I've already finished this. And it is the Blood Sugar Palette

from Jeffree Star! I had to preorder this. A sad story: I had it in my cart and it

was only two minutes and I hit finalize payment and sold out! Just two minutes, it

took! And that was back on what? February eleventh or twelfth? Something like that.

But he luckily did a pre-order a couple hours later. So I did pre-order, however

it's been five weeks, and I was dying! But it is here now! And my video today will

be a little bit different because I'm about four weeks behind everybody else.

I wanted to do something quick and different for you guys today. It will just

be arm swatches and eye swatches. That way you can see exactly how they look, at

least on more fair skin. Right on the eyes. And if you want to see more

about this palette, and more looks, well then you will have to SUBSCRIBE because

I have at least two looks planned with this palette! And you don't want to miss

out! So just go down there real quick, hit that little button, will wait...Okay, now

let's get to some swatches!

*Intro Music*

*Background music only*

Alright guys, let me know down in the comments what you thought about all

these swatches! I had some first impressions, definitely. Overall the

palette was so soft and creamy! There were a couple shades, if you did notice, that

were slightly patchy. At least on a finger swatch. And that being a "Coma", the

darker one, & "Prick". Both of those. Maybe it's because the imprint that he used?

But they were very very hardly packed, or hard packed. And then "Extraction" too. Both

of those were so similar of colors. The only difference is "Extraction" has tiny

tiny tiny little glitter flakes, that don't really show up on I because I did

it. And other than that...I don't want to say too much because I haven't played

too much with this. But because of those situations I wanted to put it to the

test. So I did my eye makeup with a few of the shades, probably I used a few of

the shades...I probably use four or five! But the concerns that I had with the

patchiness of those ones in those ones, were non-existent with the brushes!

As far as first impressions go, that's what I can tell...the palette I am obsessed

with! And I cannot wait to film some looks for you guys! And you know what? I'm

so surprised my two favorite shades, like off the bat, I didn't even know we're

gonna be like amazing! I feel like nobody's talking about, kind of the Dark

Horse of the palette, is "Sweetener" and "Blood Sugar". They both have these amazing...

these fire like shifts! That it's like my gosh! Like the "Blood Sugar" color, it just

has this crazy like red and orange burnt undertone. And then "Sweetener" too is like

a soft pinky fire thing. It's just something that I do not have in any

other palettes. And that I was looking for because I have a lot of

palettes, so something has to really make me go ah!!! To want to purchase that and

invest in it. And this was a hefty price tag too so...And the case, you guys, it's just

out of this world! It's literally nothing I've ever seen done in an eye palette

before. I don't care that it's thicker, it is awesome! And it's nothing like I have.

I just...no! So I want to keep playing with it more before I give like my

overall overall review, but first impressions...yes, I'm obsessed! Hope that

he brings out more of these pallets soon because I know everybody else is dying

to get their hands on it! If you haven't yet, I'm so sorry! But so far, oh my gosh it's

worth the wait!! If you haven't yet, please go down and hit that little SUBSCRIBE

button and you can see more! And yeah, you guys have a great lovely day! XOXO
