Hello.

So, today, we're going to talk about misconceptions about disability

and this is actually a disability misconceptions tag

that was created by another YouTuber and I was tagged to do the tag.

I can't remember the name of the person who tagged me and I apologise.

I will put her name right up here.

But she is another YouTuber and she is blind

and I believe she does content about, like, fashion and make-up.

Think kind of similar to Molly Burke.

So, let's do the tag.

What is your disability and how does it impact you?

So, for those of you who know very little about who I am,

I am deaf and I deal with chronic pain.

There are people who consider mental illness a disability,

so we'll throw that in as well.

So, I'm deaf, I deal with chronic pain

and I am mentally ill with depression and the like.

The way that it impacts me is, well,

being deaf, it affects me the most because communication happens a lot.

You know, I'm going out somewhere and it affects me

because people will be trying to get my attention and I can't hear them.

Getting work, going to the doctor and things like that.

When I go to YouTube events

and other conferences, that affects me

because, like, if I'm going somewhere with a bunch of YouTubers,

if I'm at an event, like, a party at the event

or, like, any kind of social networking thing there

and I don't have the proper accommodations with me,

things are like one-on-one type of deals, that affects me.

Now that I think about it, why don't VidCon and them give me interpreters

for those, like, smaller things instead of just the panels?

That's a different video.

With the chronic pain, I deal with...

I deal with chronic pain a lot in my back,

my shoulders and my jaw because I have TMD.

The TMD is kind of, like, something that just...

It's really annoying but it's not the worst,

at least as far as, like, impacting me in my day-to-day life.

My back is what really does that.

So, it can be difficult for me to get out of bed,

for me to get up and do, like, the smallest things.

Like, I don't want to go do dishes or clean something

because it just hurts to stand

and I would rather just either sit or lie down.

With mental illness, it's kind of almost like with the chronic pain thing

except, you know, depression, I don't want to do anything.

I'm not motivated to do anything.

I don't want to do work. I don't want to find work.

I don't...

I don't want to deal with anybody or myself, you know, that kind of thing.

What is the most common misconception that you experience

in regards to your disability?

So, deafness.

I did a whole video on, like, myths about deafness

but it's just, I think, probably one of the biggest things

is just that we are incapable of doing things,

like, mainstream society doesn't want to give us work

because we'll be a liability

or we just can't do that type of deal, type of thing, stuff like that, really.

That's kind of, like... That's the umbrella misconception.

Then you can add in a bunch of other things underneath that.

With chronic pain, it's the fact that I can just, like, pop in a Tylenol

and then be on my way.

I've been the guinea pig of some people

sometimes trying to get me to just take medication and not believing me.

And mental illness.

You know, I also did a video on this.

I pretty much did a video on all the myths about all these three things

and, with mental illness, it's, like, depression isn't real.

I'm just sad for a second and I can snap out of it, you know?

Think happy thoughts and everything will be OK.

Which misconception annoys you the most?

Deafness. The fact that I just...

Like, I can't do anything.

So, like, now I'm an adult.

I'm trying to survive and I'm trying to thrive in life

and, you know, move forward and, you know,

like, make my life bigger than what it is now.

That people don't think that I can do that,

therefore that kind of puts a stunt in my growth.

It feels like it just keeps keeping me down,

rather than helping me move up and I feel stuck because of that.

And then basically all the misconceptions that annoy me the most,

the ones that I explained in the previous question.

Those just annoy me a lot.

Do you do anything to combat these misconceptions?

Well, I make videos and I write articles - RikkiPoynter.com.

And I do speaking engagements to talk about these things.

My main platform is YouTube, so, you know, I make videos about that.

So, I've done the myths video about mental illness, chronic pain, deafness.

I started my own "business".

You know, this is kind of the business that I have doing that.

What more do you think can be done to combat the misconception

around your disability?

Society as a whole as opposed to individual work

is a good direction for the answer.

So, this is the thing.

Like, a lot of people consider themselves allies, right?

But I feel like, really, even the people closest to me in my life

don't actually do anything to, like, talk about this kind of stuff.

Like, they don't promote it on their social media or whatever.

And it's kind of... mmm

Like, I get people that will be like, "Wow, Rikki, it's so great

"that you're doing this kind of thing to, you know, educate others."

But they don't do that.

These are, like, my able-bodied friends, right?

And instead of just keeping the education

and the accessibility knowledge, whatever,

like, in the little disability, in the deaf circle,

it needs to branch out and reach into the able-bodied, abled circle.

So, when my abled friends are, like, coming over to me and praising me

for all this work and I very much appreciate it, obviously,

it's not like, "Oh, well, fuck you."

But it's just...

It would be so helpful if they would take the praise that they're giving me

and others and, like, helping push that to their friends, to their followers

and it needs to be spread out outside of this little niche, I guess.

So, you know, educate people on the topic.

Call your representatives.

You know, the whole H.R.620 thing that's been going around

that passed the House that is now going to the higher ups, I think.

If the friends, if the abled friends and the people,

call your politicians and make... help us make that change.

I just feel like, if you're gonna be an ally,

if you're gonna consider yourself an ally,

please help us with the work that it takes

and that it's going to take to try to make things better.

Q&A #1 - Practice Routines // Metal Bass Tones // Abiogenesis - Duration: 4:37.

what's up guys Francesco here so this is my first Q&A if you have any questions

for future Q&As leave them down in the comments and I'll do my best to help you

that being said let's do this what does your practice routine look like well I hate

to disappoint you but I haven't actually practiced guitar for the past 7 years to

be honest since I started teaching full-time and with my band becoming the

priority I've always put songwriting first and getting better at recording

and mixing rather than improving my guitar playing that being said I still

keep my guitar chops in shape because every day I'm repeating fundamental

exercises with my students so you could say lessons are a little bit of a

practice routine for me as well although when I did practice years ago was always

making sure I practiced every day even if just for 10 minutes I am a firm

believer that consistency is much more important than the time spent practicing

so for example it's much better to practice something 10 minutes each day

rather than doing something 8 hours one day and then you're so burned out that

you won't do anything else for the rest of the week we all have things in life

that keep us busy so as long as you use the time left wisely to improve your

craft whether if it's guitar or a musical instrument or photography

whatever you want it doesn't really matter if it's two hours or 10 minutes

if you do it consistently and you're better than yesterday that's all that

matters to me which bass effect would you choose to get a punchier metal tone

in a live situation I think there's like three or four options that would

definitely work the most basic one has to be the sansamp by tech21 it's a

classic and it does the job just fine but the sansamp by itself would still

leave the bass kind of thin and harsh sounding so after the sansamp i would

definitely add a mooer radar pedal the radar is essentially a cabinet

simulator into a pedal and the cool thing about this is that you can put

your own cabinet ir files into the pedal so that for example you could put like

on an ampeg 8x10 cabinet into the pedal and you would have like the

sansamp into the cabinet simulation and it would be like a very big and fat tone

because of that but an even better option would be purchasing the new b7k

ultra an alpha mega ultra from darkglass electronics which to me not only sound

amazing and way better than the Sansamp but they actually have cabinet

simulation built into the pedal so you would have to basically run everything

into a pedal from the distortion itself to the cabinet simulation I currently

own the regular b7k which is already amazing and I was thinking about

coupling it with a mooer radar but then the ultra models came out so I know what

I'm gonna purchase next also another effect I would definitely add to the list is a

compressor pedal like for example the darkglass electronics supersymmetry or

the Cali 76 from Origin effects bass needs to be extremely consistent in the

mix because the moment is not there you definitely miss it bass compressor

pedals essentially give you the most consistent dynamics possible out of the

instrument which will translate in a very even tone that will always cut

through the mix and then we have the final option which definitely is more

expensive and complex than the others but to me it would be amazing for metal

axe fx! why axe fx well first you gotta understand that bass is two

instruments at once the first is a rhythm instrument that covers the low

end of the music alongside the kick the second is basically a guitar but tuned

a lower octave so this essentially glues with the main guitars to make them

sound super heavy and achieve this massive wall of sound because of this it

makes sense to treat the bass in two different ways that will coexist

together the first one is to create a clean and consistent low-end so that it

will glue better with the kick and the second one is to distort the bass so

that it will gel better with the guitars with the axe fx I can create

those two chains in parallel and I can make them coexist within a single preset

and then I will join them together within a single cabinet block the

advantage of this is that within a single preset I would have everything I

need in my bass tone from compression to cabinet simulation and it can even

choose to distort the bass with guitar amplifiers instead of pedals which to me

are actually a more appropriate choice for that modern metal bass tone that I

love when will we hear more of Abiogenesis well as most of you know shortly

after the release of our video for Visualize our drummer moved to France so

that made it super difficult for us to rehearse do live shows and basically

everything else since then we auditioned like I don't know almost 30 drummers and

literally nobody could play our previous drummer stuff because the patterns

themselves are super complex and the foot speed especially is next-level

because of this unfortunately we haven't been able to play live for the past year

but on the other hand we did finish recordings for our new stuff the good

news is Nick Pearce from Unearth is gonna do session drums on our new music

which we're super stoked about and shortly after the recordings we're gonna

film a new video we don't know yet if we'll manage to bring in our former

drummer in the video or somebody else but rest assured regardless the new

music is gonna be worth the wait I promise so that's it for today guys if

Hello my name is Pedro and this is the story of my trip to New York with my

mother, Adelaide. So, the trip had the duration of 9 days, from 6 until 16 April 2017.

I recommend to use the youtube subtitles because some vides have too much background noise and you can't

undertand very well. Also, there are subtitles available in english

It began early, when we went to the airport to cath the airplane

who would stop in Zurich. A: Aiii P: So What time is it? A: I do not know, let's go check

Check In P:Probably 6:30

A:...No you never did it should be your first trip

it is not? P: Ya the first 10 hours flight (Which is not true)

P: First day! A: Jesus ... At the age of 17 I didn't even knew Porto

P: First day ... of travel

we are still at the airport in Porto let's take off now and ya .. this is it. A: Aiii ...

P: It's gonna take a few hours.

P: We arrived in Switzerland and we thought that

We were going to be late but we weren't(actually, we were) we arrived now and the plane was very,

very cool, especially the first class. After landing in Zurich late because

the airplane had to cancel the first landing

A: 20 minutes later than expected it's not bad at all.

After a full day of flight we land in New York, it was raining heavily and we still had to

wait a few hours in a queue in border control but the most important

is that despite having spent more or less one day (12 hours) it was still around 4pm

in New York, which led to a intense effect of Jet Lag.

P:You can see it rains a lot ... It doesn't stop raining. You can't even see the

It is important to mention that my mother usually

prepares food so that on the first day there we don't have to worry about finding a

place to eat, this time it was the same thing but during landing an American officer was very

rude and took away the food P: We caught the Airtrain! (Skytrain) now we have to

take the subway and we will reach 51st (FIRST, not ONE, Pedro that engrish) Street

and then we are going to walk some 20 streets until we reach 34th Street

A: We can climb to the Empire we can climb P: It's sunshine unlike when we arrived

ya... ahh someone is playing typical New York jazz, it's so cool

A. Look...32 dollars (I do not know what she meant) P: People here are in a huge hurry

P:We are taking the subway, our metro comes from this side and...(audio fades to slow jazz)

The trip to the hostel was calm, we caught

the SkyTrain until Jamaica Station and then we caught the metro that took us to 33rd street, after

that it was a short walk by foot. Until this moment we hadn't seen Manhattam

So when we left the subway station

and got to road level, we were amazed by the size of the buildings that surrounded us

P:Exit the subway (with shortness of breath due to two super heavy suitcases) to the station

the buildings are high (it seems obvious, but the height of the buildings frightens) Obviously

It's like being in the middle of Canary Wharf Q: We are in Canary Wharf (London, UK)

P: Ya (I did not count this one damn it) these buildings are very tall is more or less like New

York. P: It's like watching London and ...

A: Wow what an Impact !! :O P: It does not have the same effect on the camera (not even

close) than in real life. P: That's really tall! Jesus! Mother...

P: There you can see the top of the Empire State are the little lights in the center and these buildings

they are... tall you can't even imagine really it is an experience that has to be seen. Amazing!

P: East 34th now I have to find the building 200

A: Now it's number 200 !!! (Thanks for the obvious) P: That building that I can not remember the name

A: (Super stressed) And now it's number 200 !! Pay attention to the number of doors!

This was our room during our stay it was simple, the top bed was for me,

and the bottom to my mother, we had the right to a fridge, a microwave which was

useful, a washbasin, a TV and two lockers to store suitcases and the bathrooms

were shared (with the other guests of the hostel)

The location on 34th street was very central which made it easy to explore Manhattam on foot and

save on public transport. P: First night tour, we are going to

Times Square and pass by the Empire State Building and get to Sixth Avenue and go up Broadway

until it reaches the point where it intersects with Seventh Avenue (which is called Times Square)

Ahm ... easy to get there you can see already the lights of the Empire State we will pass

P: Mom, say anything about New York A: It's too cold ahah

P: It's a bit cold, it's true and there is this smell of fast food (everywhere)

that's really weird. A: Empire State

P: Where is it? A: Here

P: Really? What enthusiasm A: Heeeeereeeeee

P:Ya it's tall. It's really really high.

On the way, my mother remembered that forgot (ah irony) of the mobile phone in the room

and we had to go back to get it

P: We were hungry and found a guy selling 5 bananas for a dollar and like

"Okay, we'l buy them." Like, "These bananas are giant! "(With the most gay voice possible) Like

wtf! After resting in the bedroom for some

minutes we went out for a walk before it was time to go to sleep The goal was to go to Times

Square passing through the Empire State Building and preferably get something to

eat because our food had been confiscated. P: Sixth Avenue and Broadway a little bit before

Times Square, through here we're going to to reach Times Square

A: Are you going to put this all in a movie? P: I'm going to edit some music

A: But how do you do that? (The conversation fades to music)

P: Here at the door of Macy's... A: Wait a minute, how do you film with this phone?

P: How to record? It's here, isn't it? P: Ya (one more that escaped me) you have to put

Square (Bragging Rights) Right mom? A: (Face of someone who resigned himself to accept

the situation) P: This MacDonalds has a very

peculiar interior decoration. P: So what do you think?

A: I agree ... P: With what?

A: With the decoration. P: I agree with Times Square, it really is

incredible.

A: That it is a sea of light and colour P: Yah(ANOTHER ONE THAT I MISSED) I had to increase

so bright that I needed to increase the brightness of the mobile phone (I still think it's the other way around

but I can't go back in time change what I said)

When it was found that Barack Obama had been running significant surveillance through the

National Security Agency (NSA)on citizens, Donald Trump, and his team amid the 2016 election,

he knew he was going down.

A few reports had been found that the illicit surveillance had been done to attempt to break

President Trump and Obama was blamed for working for a 'shadow government.'

Another weird thing was that the Obama family had purchased a mansion just blocks far from

the White House, which isn't something some other President has done.

Trey Gowdy had turned out to be suspicious of his demonstrations and had started his

operation to stop Obama's own 'shadow government.'

This is then when the surveillance operation was found.

He kept running in through the National Security Agency (NSA).

The NSA is the place Obama still has a large number of his cohorts, even while not in control

any longer.

One of his companions, Reality Winner, was as of late arrested for releasing some profoundly

classified archives against Trump and conceivable plot with Russia.

Congressman Trey Gowdy reported to Fox News' Bill Hemmer that he will prevent the NSA from

running these projects.

"We're not going to reauthorize these surveillance programs if the American people

are not satisfied that their security is not going to be safeguarded."

Gowdy said.

Gowdy communicated his worry with Obama and how he had abused these projects, "This

unmasking.

That is a privilege to be able to request that a U.S. person's name be unmasked.

I want to know who's making the request [and] what is the evidentiary basis of that

request?

Wynncraft Play-Through Episode 1 - Ragni - Duration: 25:43.

welcome to Wynncraft episode 1

So for this

Playthrough I'm gonna be starting a new character, I already have two characters right now, an archer level 80 that's my main and an assassin

level 14 that I don't play but don't feel like deleting

We're gonna start a new one it's gonna be the archer

I've tried all the other classes

They're just not doing it for me I love the archer you can hide back and not take

That much damage, but, still be able to dish out enough damage to sustain yourself

so

It's great like you have

all these bunch of different spells you can use to help

Not die which is really useful if I do say so myself. so we're gonna be starting off with the archer from the very beginning

I had already tried to do this once before and I realized you can't hear me, at all

because the

The, music was ways, way too loud, I had to turn it way, way, way down

Now you can actually hear me, hopefully. Let us begin. so I'm not actually, gonna be reading any of this

I'm just gonna, assume that either

You've already, played this

You've already, like played on the Wynncraft server

or

You, don't care. either you've already played it... wait there's really three options. You've already played it

Which, means you've already read all this anyway yourself

Two, you haven't played it and you don't care or three you haven't played it and I want you to experience this for yourself

do all these quests on your own

Nametag, like the green name means they're completely neutral will not attack you under any circumstances

Quest npcs, I believe they are sometimes green I don't know why they're white here

I don't know I feel like there are different colors like it's either white or green

There's also red, which is hostile which i just killed a hostile

Crazy, villager person so the hostile does damage

neutral doesn't

But then there's, also like an orange a yellow

Kinda name tag, which will only attack you

if you attack them first, so there it's it's kind of like an iron golem in vanilla minecraft

But there's a lot, there's not just one there's like

a bunch that do that

And you'll be able to tell pretty easily, like you can tell the colors from quite far away so

It should be good so

First of all the bridge is out tree gotta knock it over look at this beautiful animation it's gorgeous

I believe I forgot one, blue so there's also a blue nametag

that um shows up on like the guards and

Mercenaries, and stuff like that so they will actually

help you so fight for you, not fight against you so they will

Also, be fighting off like

whatever hostile monsters are trying to killing you

And they will help you with that.

so in this area you need to get, I believe I have enough, I have ten

I need to buy a helmet from this guy, or else you can't go through, you only need five okay, we're good

We can get a couple more xp

So, we couldn't go through this before cuz, he's like you need to have a helmet or else you can't go through here cuz

There's a bunch of monsters that are gonna kill you

Which is true there are a bunch of monsters that are out to kill you but they won't

If you, don't die. just gotta keep your distance if you're like a

Like a melee,

So if you're melee just kind of get up in there, you will have enough health to withstand a couple of hits

I believe the starting amount of xp that you start out with, also changes between the different classes so

I believe, I haven't checked that in a while

Okay, so with this part you don't really need to worry, about it because

All the hostiles are being taken care of by

These blue nametag Ragni archers and warriers and knights and

yeah, so we just like waltz right through here, and nothing he's really, gonna attack us unless like glitches out, and

None of the Ragni knights are here which actually happened to me one time

It was, it was great there, was no Ragni knights here there, was no guard golems over there

There was, pretty much nothing it was

fantastic

so I actually had to fight my way through that, it was a lot of fun, not really because I nearly died

ok, so right now we're on the outskirts of the castle

I'm gonna go into castle, and then we're gonna get our orders from the king

So first, we have to talk to the attendant, The King is waiting for me
