14 Best Summer Travel Destinations to Visit in 2018 - Duration: 16:16.
Summer is the perfect time to travel.
You've been saving up all year.
The weather is way too nice to be stuck inside.
So you take your savings,
and you buy a ticket to Rome. Oh, bad move.
If you picked the obvious summer spots, hotels are full,
prices are surging, and there are more tourists than locals.
But don't worry, we've got some better ideas.
I'm Alex. I'm Marko.
And you are watching Vagabrothers,
your go-to guide for travel tips, vlogs, and inspiration
here on YouTube.
And in this video we're going to be sharing our tips on how to beat the crowds,
save cash, and just basically have the best summer ever.
So if you haven't already, hit that subscribe button
and turn on notifications so that you can get travel tips all summer long.
And if you find this video useful, give it a thumbs- up,
share it with your travel buddies, and get ready to buy some tickets.
These are the best destinations of Summer 2018.
What makes the perfect summer destination?
Is it the great outdoors? Sun and sand?
Fascinating festivals or excellent local meals?
Luckily, we've broken this list down into those four categories,
and we've given you a few options
for every interest, budget, and region of the world.
But Bruce, what about us down here in New Zealand?
It's no summer. It's cold enough to freeze the balls off of a brass monkey. It's colder than a witch's....
No worries, mate. Even though YouTube tells us that
most of you are watching from the Northern Hemisphere,
we've made sure to include plenty of options south of the Equator, as well.
So without further ado, here are our best destinations for Summer 2018,
starting with our first category: nature and adventure.
First up: the Pyrenees
Europe's low-key affordable and uncrowded alternative to the Alps.
The Pyrenees Mountains form a natural boundary between France and the Iberian Peninsula.
They go from the Basque Country on the Atlantic
four hundred and thirty kilometers to Catalonia on the Mediterranean.
Whether you approach them from Spain,
France, or the micro kingdom of Andorra,
expect to find peaks soaring to up to 3000 metres,
castles, forests, and so much more.
A good place to start is the Ordesa Y Monte Perdido Parque Nacional in Aragon, Spain.
If you want to see a lot in a short period of time, walk the Camino de Santiago
along the Camino Frances.
You start in Saint Jean- Pied-de-Port in the French Basque Country
You walk up the historic Roncesvalles Pass,
stay in a hermitage overnight and a few days later,
you arrive at Pamplona.
Or if you'd like to cover some serious ground,
consider doing a bicycle trip like I did back in the summer of 2012.
I basically rode my bicycle from San Sebastian in Spain up into France all the way from the Atlantic
to the Mediterranean and back,
stealth camping and basically soaking in all of the natural beauty of the Pyrenees one pedal at a time.
In June, the farther north you travel,
the longer it stays light,
making it possible to see a lot on even the shortest trips.
That's why our second recommendation is to travel through Western Norway on a cruise through the deep
glacially carved valleys that Norwegians call "fjords."
The way to do it is on the Hurtigruten ferry.
I think I pronounced that right.
It started as a mail delivery service
delivering mail to the isolated fishing ports of the region.
Now, it allows tourists to tag along for a ride,
from Bergen in the south all the way up to the Norwegian Arctic
stopping at thirty-four ports along the way.
The whole trip takes twelve days, and you can hop on and off at some pretty amazing locations.
Whether you're trying to get that Instagram photo from the Lofoten Islands, or
just feel like hanging out with the indigenous Sami reindeer herders in Lapland,
you can do all of that and much much more.
The cruise does run for 365 days a year,
but we would highly recommend you do it in the summer time
because Norway in the middle of winter is a little bit cold.
For a total contrast, you could go antipodal
and hit New Zealand's Southern Alps.
We had a weird winter here in North America.
So if you didn't get enough pow,
head down to New Zealand for the endless winter.
Some of New Zealand's best mountains are available on the Mountain Collective Pass,
which operates in 16 resorts around the world.
Coronet Peak and the Remarkables are both within striking distance of
Queenstown, the most lively city on the South Island.
And if you're not into snowboarding or skiing,
there's plenty of other activities to get your blood pumping...
from the Shotover Jet,
to the birthplace of bungee jumping, not to mention
skydiving because you can do that there too.
For something more mellow drive three hours down south to Mount Cook, New Zealand's largest
mountain and the world's largest dark sky reserve to see why the Maori called Mount Cook,
"Our Rocky, the Sky Piercer."
If you don't feel like going too far north or too far south,
split the difference on the equator or in Spanish, Ecuador.
Ecuador is one of the most geographically diverse countries on the planet,
from the headwaters of the Amazon River to the Avenue of the Andes Mountains
and of course the world-famous Galapagos Islands.
Go in August when the rainforest ain't that rainy,
and it's the perfect time to bike Cotopaxi,
hike a cloud forest,or go deep into the Amazon.
Best of all Ecuador uses the US dollar, and it's quite affordable,
making it this year's budget option for adventure destinations of 2018.
If you've got some extra cash to splurge,
consider going on a safari in the Serengeti.
Summer is the best time to catch the wildebeest migration,
which is one of the largest wildlife migrations on earth,
and it literally is something from Planet Earth.
Between July and September of every year,
1.5 million wildebeest complete their annual circular migration from
Tanzania's Serengeti National Park in June
to Kenya by August crossing the Masai Mara River in dramatic fashion.
Timing is critical and guides are necessary,
which is what makes this experience more expensive.
There's only a small window, tons of demand, and limited space.
But if you can afford this experience,
camping on the plains of Africa,
and meeting the Masai tribe will make
2018 a summer to truly remember.
Summer is synonymous with sunshine and sand,
but if you know this channel,
if you've been watching the Vagabrothers,
you know that we like our beaches with a double side of culture.
Here are four beach destinations that will satisfy your curiosity as well as your need for R&R.
Few places mix culture and coastline quite like the Mediterranean,
and while the beaches of Spain, Italy, and Greece are
extremely crowded in the summer time,
we are recommending the Turquoise Coast of Turkey.
Turkey's Turquoise Coast- say that five times fast- is a
stunning stretch of beach,
inlets, and resorts along the Aegean Sea.
Okay, technically it's in Asia Minor,
but it is a stone's throw away from the Greek Islands, and it's much less expensive.
There are plenty of budget options.
There's all-inclusive resorts,
but the money move is to rent a gulet, a traditional Turkish sailing boat,
that you can get for a day, a week, or two weeks.
Beyond that, Turkish food is incredible,
and the region has plenty of cultures,
including the Ruins of Xanthos and
just a little bit further north, the legendary Ruins of Troy.
Now you might be wondering, is Turkey safe?
After a string of terrorist attacks and an attempted coup in 2016,
a lot of travelers have stayed away from Turkey,
and we have not included it on our list of places to go.
Thankfully, things seem to have calmed down.
Most of the attacks have been concentrated in the south, the east, the capital of Ankara, or in Istanbul.
A lot of travel experts say that the Turquoise Coast is safe.
Regardless, it's always a good idea to check with your local foreign office for more information.
But for those of you willing to make the trip to Turkey,
chances are you'll have the beaches to yourself.
In June and July much of South and Southeast Asia
is affected by the yearly monsoon,
which drenches most of the region in rain.
So if you're looking for a beach destination in Asia,
you should consider Sri Lanka.
We've been wanting to go to Sri Lanka for a very long time because it's affordable,
beautiful, full of great food, and really good surf.
Sri Lanka is big,
and the weather varies from coast to coast.
The southwest could be getting soaked,
but the northeast could be perfect to visit and far off the beaten path.
That's because until recently the northeast of Sri Lanka
was the homeland of the Tamil Tigers,
a separatist group that fought for independence
from the central government for 26 years
until their military defeat in 2009.
Twenty years later, the situation has stabilized,
but the crowds have not yet returned.
Surfers are paving the way in search of an alternative
to the crowded beaches of Bali.
Whether you surf or not,
there's no shortage of reasons to visit Sri Lanka,
from the iconic Sigiriya Citadel Rock
to the thousands of wild elephants roaming the island.
But if you're really looking for a perfect beach on island full of animals,
look no farther than Borneo, a Southeast Asian island
divided between Malaysia and Indonesia and Brunei,
and home to the Man of the Forest,
aka the orangutan.
The dry season runs from April to September;
that's the best time to visit,
not only for viewing orangutangs, but
catching the turtles returning to secluded jungle beaches
and hatching their young.
If you somehow get bored by endless beautiful beaches,
you could volunteer at an orangutan rehabilitation center,
visit indigenous communities in the interior, or
swing by the Rainforest Music Festival.
Moving to our next category........
Let's talk about the summer's best arts and cultural destinations,
and they are not where you would expect.
First up: Mongolia.
Today a modern nation wedged between China and Russia;
historically home to the Mongols, a tribe of
fierce warrior nomads who in the 13th century united under Genghis Khan
to conquer everything between Beijing of the Bosphorus,
forming the largest contiguous land empire in history.
While the days of pillaging are over,
30% of modern Mongolians still live as nomads.
So the best time to visit is in July during the Naadam Festival
where Mongolians compete in the manly arts of horsemanship,
archery, and wrestling.
Few festivals offer such an open invitation to living history.
So soak it up, stay in a yurt, go on a horse track,
but maybe leave the wrestling to the professionals.
But in Argentina August is the perfect time to grab a local and learn how to dance at
Tango Buenos Aires, the world's premier festival of tango music and dance.
A few years back, I got to spend all of August in Buenos Aires
researching a guidebook on the city.
I caught some competitions at the tango festival.
I listened to classical tango music at El Boliche de Roberto,
and I even learned a few steps at local Milongas,
which are dance halls like La Catedral,
which gives beginners classes every night at 6.
It's super welcoming, and a great place to learn.
Plus, August is a perfect time to visit because the weather is still pretty cool,
and there aren't a lot of crowds.
Also there are art fairs, flea markets,
and small galleries galore throughout the entire city.
For example, check out the Galleria Locale in Palermo,
which is a hip boutique, coffee shop, tattoo parlor,
and art gallery all under one roof.
Finally, our last recommendation for arts and culture
is far away from a museum:
the hills of Papua New Guinea for the Mount Hagen Cultural Show
where every August dozens of formerly warlike tribes gather for the country's largest
sing-sing, a highly-decorated dance-off.
Sound cool? Definitely.
But be forewarned:
Papua New Guinea is a place of very well preserved traditions and
not very well developed tourist infrastructure.
Chances are those tribes that you want to go hang out with
have had very little contact with foreigners.
So if you go, join a tour; be prepared to rough it,
and always ask permission before
shoving your camera in a tribesman's face.
Last but not least our final category is:
food and drink for all of you who follow your stomach's around the globe.
First up: Galicia in Northwest Spain.
I used to live in Galicia.
And while Catalonia and the Basque Country get most of the attention for the
incredible food of Spain,
Galicia is a culinary underdog worthy of some serious recognition.
Galicia has historically been one of Spain's poorest regions,
and the cuisine is simple yet delicious.
Fresh seafood, scallops, goose barnacles, octopuses
harvested in the local coastal fjords known as "rias."
During the Spanish conquest of the Americas,
Galicians emigrated in huge numbers to the New World
and traded recipes across the Atlantic.
They were the first ones to plant the potato in
Europe that gave Argentinians empanadas, and today you can get an
asado with chimichurri that rivals anything you can find in Buenos Aires.
Top it off with some highly quaffable
albarino wine, a minerally white grown along the coast,
and you can see why we are so hungry for Galicia.
For something more urban and edgy, go to Berlin.
During The Cold War, the Berlin Wall was a symbol of division.
But in the quarter century since reunification,
Berlin has become a leading example of how to balance
strong local heritage with global influences.
Take currywurst, a German sausage mixed with ketchup,
and Indian curry powder brought to West Berlin by British soldiers
stationed there during the Cold War.
Or the "doner," a type of kebab invented in Berlin by immigrants from Turkey.
The list goes on.
Recently, Berlin's become even more globalized as American craft
beer culture has shaken up 500 year- old beer purity laws,
vegan chefs have replaced pork knuckle with plant-based cuisines, and
immigrants from around the world have turned Berlin's food scene into a buffet of international flavors.
Throw in tons of cool bars, a thriving underground club scene,
and some of the cheapest prices of any capital city in Europe,
and Berlin is looking mighty tasty.
Far away from the world's capitals,
there's something really funky happening in California......
that is Baja California, Mexico.
We grew up in San Diego.
We've crossed the border countless times to surf,
eat tacos and party.
But as we've grown up, so has Baja.
Over the last decade, Baja California has quietly become
one of the most interesting food scenes on the planet
by developing a cuisine that transcends borders.
Blending the craft beer culture of San Diego with indigenous Mexican recipes and world-class innovation,
Baja has some top-notch restaurants, incredible craft beer, and
rustic vineyards at a fraction of the cost of other wine regions.
Late August is the perfect time to swing through the offbeat vineyards of
the Valle de Guadalupe right before harvest.
Swing through Tijuana to eat at Verde Crema,
and don't forget to try the award-winning beers at Agua Male Brewery in Ensenada.
Alright ladies and gentlemen, those are our tips for the best places to visit in the summer of 2018.

Reverse Insulin Resistance — How Joaquin Reversed Type 2 Diabetes - Duration: 8:30.
I had my first appointment three months later, and when I walked in I had lost close to 35
pounds, and my blood pressure was down, my sinuses were clear, and my doctor was shocked
by the transformation in a short period of time.
I would eat a meal of you know potatoes, I make
beans and rice, and I take those to work every day.
In the morning, I take raw oats and I put fruit
on top of it, and that's what I eat for breakfast, I would eat that until I was full, and I would
test my blood and it was like 115 - 120, Wow!
Right?
After a month of eating this way, the difference in your health and that way you're going to
feel you're going to thank yourself, and you're going
to see that it's well worth it.
[Music] I wasn't feeling well for some time and I
would not go to the doctor.
I had severe headaches, I had a congestion, my toes started to tingle.
I got a doctor who'd never seen me before, I didn't
have a relationship with, so she instead of talking to me she got into the medical record
and she noticed that the previous December, this was
in June of 2017, the previous December my A1c
was 6.8, I think, and then she says I need you to go have your blood drawn right now.
I tried to say, "Hey, you know I didn't fast" and she
says "I don't care, go do it, now" and a day later I got
an email sent, it was 7.1 and I was officially diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic, and I was
sent to have my eyes examined, have my feet examined,
and you feel like, you're shocked, and you say I really did it this time, and I need
to get treatment.
At that point, I attended the classes they sent me to, which were sponsored by my health
plan and the initial class they were talking about diabetes, and what to expect, and what
to look for, and by then I had already done some
research online, and I came to know the term Insulin Resistance, during this class I asked
the nurse, because the guy was an RN, I said "I'm
sorry, I didn't mean to throw you off track, but my
understanding is that type 2 diabetes is insulin resistance" and the guy goes "that's a
conversation for another day", which blew my mind right, because I go how can you talk
about what I'm to expect, what I should do, if you
don't tell me what my decease is.
At that time, I started doing research online, that's when
I found Cyrus, recorded the YouTube video of a
Medical Center in Southern California, and upon hearing him saying you can eat fruit,
I said you know "I need to talk to this guy".
I went to the retreat and it was an incredible experience for me, because it was a very
nourishing supportive environment, I made friends that I'm still friends with to this
date.
The education that I received on those four days
immediately changed the way I live my life, entirely.
I adopted the diet, the style, I eat primarily Whole Foods, I exercise five to six days a
week.
You meet everyone, and you're given an outline
of what's going to take place over the next few days,
and the next morning I walked in and there were buckets of bananas, mangoes, you know,
kiwis, and I'm like are you serious, I go I'm going to love this, right!.
You ate healthy really tasty foods, I didn't taste anything the entire
time that left me wanting more, quite the contrary, in the
mornings I would say, I can't wait to finish this bowl of mangoes, so I can get some more,
and then you finish it up going, wait a minute
I'm full.
You realize that all the fiber and the water, and
the nutrients make it hard to overeat, when you're eating fruit, you stop when you're
done.
I was shocked at the level of detail, I've never heard such about biology, chemistry,
cell function, and we started at 7 a.m. and ended at 10 p.m.
every day.
And in between there were exercises, we would exercise until you couldn't
get off the ground anymore, and what impacted me the most is that you know Robby and Cyrus
would say listen, look around, where are the weights?
where's the gym? you don't need any of that stuff, right.
I'm exercising six days, five to six days a week for an hour at least, and
I don't own dumbbells, I don't own anything, I use my
body, the only exercise equipment I purchased was a band that I hang from the door, so that
I can do, you know, lift, push-ups, and situps
and stuff, that's it!
that's all you need!
People try to over complicate how one has to eat to nourish the body.
It's very simple, you have your staples, you have rice, beans.
The thing that blows your mind is that nobody tells you don't
have to count calories, you don't have to do anything, you just have to eat healthy
food until you feel satisfied.
When I talk to folks that they're trying to lifestyle for the first time, they over
complicate, what to look for?
what to eat?.
The key here is to just eat simply, add spices as
necessary.
The book that you walk away with from the Summit tells you everything you need to
know.
I had my first appointment, three months later and when I walked in I had lost close to 35
pounds, and my blood pressure was down, my sinuses were clear, and my doctor was shocked
by the transformation in a short period of time.
She actually eventually signed up for the summit
that Mastering Diabetes puts up.
To find out how different foods were affecting me, I would actually test throughout the day
and I would eat a meal of potatoes, and make beans
and rice and I'd take those to work every day.
In the morning, I take raw oat and I put fruit
on top of him, and that's what I eat for breakfast, so I
would eat until I was full, and I would test my blood and it was like 115-120.
In the mornings, I was averaging between 85 and 91.
I don't even test my blood anymore when I run out of my
first supply of test strips, I never would fill my prescription because I was wasting
my time.
My blood sugar is normal in the mornings, throughout
the day.
The numbness of my feet went away.
I just feel fantastic and I know I'm that sick anymore.
Like I said, I'll test my A1c one more time when I'm asked to do by my doctor, but
I'm not even concerned about what the results are
going to be.
That's in six months, I've lost close to 40 pounds, and I don't even weigh myself
anymore because it's irrelevant.
I feel great!
My favorite meal, it's rice and beans, I love it!,
maybe because I grew up eating beans.
I get home with a baked potato, rise with like, it's funny
because all of a sudden I feel like I'm a little hungry at night instead of going to
grabbing trash, I'll throw a baked potato in the oven, put
a little a little pepper on it, a little bit of salt, and I'm
good to go, and it's satisfying, is fulfilling, and I know that it's nourishing me, and not
harming me.
Do this for yourselves!
The cost becomes negligible when you see the benefits afterwards,
you're not going to spend money on co-payments, you won't spend money on going to
expensive restaurants that are going to harm you.
I would call it a no brainer, you have to do
this for yourself.
After a month of eating this way and the difference in your health and the way
you're going to feel, you're going thank yourself and you're going to see that it's well worth
it.

Stock Market This Week MAY 14 - MAY 18 | S&P +.31%, DOW +.15%, NASDAQ +1.08%, FI +1.39% - Duration: 28:43.
hello everyone and thanks for tuning into the financial investor channel my
name is Brent and today we're going to be doing our weekly recap for May 21st
through the 25th next weeks the last full month of May until we're getting
into June so I'm gonna quickly go over all the news that I have for this week
we're gonna go over the you know what was posted over on Facebook the three
indexes the main indexes the After Hours movement are we looking pretty positive
negative but again that is to have any effect really on Monday's market that
can change throughout the week stock news for the week a lot of retail stocks
Kohl's Target Tiffany's t.j.maxx a lot of tea
retail stocks put out earnings this week so I'm gonna be covering a few of them
and then talk about some financials Wednesday they kind of changed it up I
posted over on Facebook we'll talk about that and then we'll kind of go into
construction bonds oil and stuff oil had about a bit of a rough week this week
but it's been on fire in the last 3-4 weeks so it's expected to come down a
little bit so completely normal so I'm gonna try and make this video as quick
as I can and let's go ahead and get into it so Monday of course I put out a video
covering the differences between EE and I bonds I went over all my denominations
that I myself had and why I was getting rid of all 42 of mine so on Tuesday I
went to the bank with my envelope I had printed out how much they were all going
to be worth basically on the back of them I had to sign my signature my name
social security number my address and then I handed him over to the teller and
she went through and punched in the face denomination whether it was an ee bond
or an i' bond and then the date purchased and that basically gave it the
total where's kind of how would you entered it on the website and that at
the very end I had my printout and she gave me the printout of how much they
were worth and they were exactly the same so I will take I was able to take
all that money and I'm gonna be reinvested it into my business bank
account in order to purchase my first real estate investment property
so this was a really interesting article talked about American cereals such as
GIS General Mills soda Coca Cola Pepsi soup companies Campbell's soups and a
few others you know they're in kind of a bit of a hiccup right now like consumer
stocks these old companies they're getting hit up because they have these
new company are not new I would say Kroger and Walmart been around awhile
but Amazon Walmart Kroger's they all make their own branded items so a lot of
these stocks companies out here that are very specific you know
Walmart makes her own cereals Kroger's makes her own cereals Walmart has their
good value Kroger says their Kroger value Costco has their Kirkland well
Amazon has their Amazon basic stuff they're all competing and if you try and
undercut Walmart Croaker's they're gonna stick your product in the back of the
store so if you go saw if you go shop at Walmart they're gonna have their
products placed there right up from have a fully stacked in I think that's going
to cause a lot of these older bigger companies to kind of fall back a little
bit they're kind of going through their own sort of bear market and I think
that's kind of something I was reading on dividend stocks that are kind of
consumer staples they're having a sort of a pull back and bear market ish kind
of movement interesting thing on Wednesday the Fed was actually going to
be easing up on the financial sector but this is primarily helping out the lower
end credit unions smaller banks making it easy easier for the banks to provide
credit needed in order to boost the economy so I went you know I did this a
couple weeks ago where I went to you actually I work at a credit union so I
went downstairs and hey I said Kay I need to open up a HELOC they said okay
fill out this information I had to do a inspection of my home because if you do
a HELOC over a certain amount you have to have a home inspection to get a home
worth of you know a value of your home that way you can do a percentage I could
do like a 95 percent loan to value of my home so anyways
very interesting article there Wednesday put out a video
covering stocks with ex dividends next week we had 10 stocks two of them had
been paying out dividends for more than 10 years Kellogg's and CH Robinson
worldwide these are all Pease under 25 yields over 2% and kyushu revenue net
income free cash flow over the last 10 years a couple of them had their yield
over the price meaning that they could be a good buy but of course that was up
to the Ambassador to kind of take a deeper dive over the last quarterly
earnings their last a yearly yearly reports their financials you know their
balance sheet and stuff so Walmart going through my mail Walmart does do free
same-day grocery pickup you know I live I work really close to a warmer it's
basically right across the street after work I could head over there pick up a
couple items I think you know Walmart offers a pretty good thing and they're
gonna be doing some free day grocery pickup I think that'll kind of help them
out a little bit there and then chase I think that was my last kind of this is
just kind of like an open-ended question for you guys any of you guys out there
run any sort of business on the side whether it's an LLC S corp and such I
use a credit union for my own business business account but I am looking to go
to either a larger credit union such as the Navy Federal Credit Union they offer
as you know my credit union I have to have a thousand dollar minimum of
deposit at at all times to avoid a fee they don't offer any cash back cards
they don't offer a lot of little things that if I moved up for my local credit
unions who say a bigger credit union or a bank such as Chase where Chase offers
a lot of benefits for veterans I can get a 1.5% cash back card anyways if any of
you guys out there run any sort of business on the side let me know in the
comment section below what bank do you use what are the benefits of using it
and why you like it if you guys would like to comment that in the comment
section below I'll be making a video in the future over why I'm moving you know
from a credit union to like a bigger Bank but that's basically it so the
is it for Facebook over on the three indexes now we're six minutes into the
video I'm gonna try and cover this as my channel continued in it so SP 505 day
change at 0.31% year-to-date up 1.7 8% the market into a whole lot this week
and that was pretty much expected I didn't expect it to go up I didn't
expect it to go down I expect that it kind of stay flat because its retail
earnings week retail it's not technology it's not going to move the markets up
one way or another it's not financials it's not going to move the market up or
down too much its retail the main thing I pay attention to when I look at
after-hours stuff I look at technology semiconductors and I look at financials
if those things are dipping I know that the next day is gonna be in the net and
the negative and depending on the news they can go up or down for that day but
S&P 500 up year-to-date point seven one point seventy percent the Dow Jones
finally out of the negative year-to-date Dow Jones up point one five percent this
week I think the Dow Jones may make a bit of a comeback but it does have some
of the stocks in there that I believe will continue to kind of hammer it down
General Electric coca-cola let's see here Triple M let's see what else do we
have a couple stocks that I don't think will do too great right now Johnson &
Johnson and Procter & Gamble I think those are a little bit of a you know I
think they're great buying opportunities right now just because they've all came
down 10 15 20 percent but I think you know I don't know I don't know what to
think there but I it's my own opinion they're I think they're gonna have a bit
of a tough time right now kind of competing with some of those other
companies such as the article that we posted over on Facebook is just some of
those bigger name companies that provide either just soda beverages or or can't
or cans of soup or cereal are gonna just have a tough time competing and that's
gonna affect the Dow Jones primarily because it's only consistent of 30
stocks so Nasdaq is the winner this week up 1.08
sent your to date up seven point six eight percent a lot of technology here
technologies been on it's been one of the better indexes to follow if you
follow the QQQ that is how you can get invested in the Nasdaq it does swing you
know up and down left and right I guess week to week but for the most part you
know you're gonna end up in the positive so long as the market kind of holds now
after hours right now futures are looking on the negative for the S&P 500
and the Dow Jones Nasdaq is up point eleven percent we looked at this last
week as well but as you know on Monday the S&P 500 did start off very positive
in the green up around 0.5% max out right around 0.75 fell down a little bit
back down to 0.5 0.65 somewhere in that range and then finished off at 0.7 for
in the end of the day so it can't really use the after hours but what you can do
is you can see what's most active so here over on Market Watch what I like to
look for in the after hours is what's the most active I like to look for
semiconductor stocks or technology and financials so here we can see the EMU's
here micron technology but there's not a whole lot of other financials or
technology stocks there's a couple pharmaceuticals there's some retail
stocks in here insurance stocks in here but it's just a mixture of stuff that
doesn't really matter so for the most part depending on news on Monday I think
will either have a you know pretty flat day or a positive day so micron
technologies is a big one here this week so I'd like to talk a little bit about
this when they released their earnings which their shares rose up by almost you
know three point nine four percent earlier in the day finished off at three
point nine one percent so this is actually leading the S&P 500 and gains
as the company announced it would raise his expectations going forward the
company was able to raise their revenue forecast for the the third quarter which
you know investors are completely happy about the company was also had made over
fifty percent of its sales coming from China so the whole trade talk
the trade war they never said it was a trade war in the past but now they're
saying that trade war has ended you know China and the US has may come to an
agreement and the whole trade war is being put on hold
you know quotes but that boosted sales and the stock market on Monday and then
what happened on Tuesday see this huge spike right here up 6.4% followed by 1.5
9 percent followed by 2.5 3% well after their earnings after seeing that a lot
of their sales come out of China there there's their stock jump by what six
point four percent because the company announced that it was doing a buyback of
ten billion dollars worth of stock so they're following suit right behind
Apple I believe Apple had 65 billion or maybe that was how much Warren Buffett
bought of them but anyways they're buying 10 billions worth of stock so
that they already have a very low p/e ratio I know Jeremy over the financial
education channel talks about the stock quite a bit 15 day change at fourteen
point nine one percent so what else did they do they also reported they're gonna
begin to work with Intel on making some new chips so micron technology and Intel
I thought Rison had a bit of a deal with in tow as well so there's a lot of chip
making companies working together in the video as well so I thought that was all
really interesting I think micron technology is actually a really good buy
or a garlis of the price right here I could see it kind of rising up a little
bit further I don't track this one as much as I
should have probably in the past but a great stock there now I was really did
this article here talking about earnings and retail so with results from
ninety-three percent of the retail sectors market cap and that's the P 500
out so ninety-three percent right okay so right now we're going through retail
earnings season ninety-three percent of the retail stocks have announced their
earnings and revenue and it's been it's been a really positive so the earnings
and revenue growth is on track to be notably above other historical periods
through positive revenue surprises are not as numerous as had been in trends in
the recent periods basically funny little article talking about
Target Kohl's Walmart and stuff and I don't know why I kind of covered that
but t.j.maxx one of the retail stocks of course I was kind of reading the retail
their stock jumped up 3.25% following very strong earning results
and positive guidance going forward their earnings showed growth of around
twenty four twenty five I think was like twenty three point some percent but
basically twenty four percent and their revenue was higher by nine percent so
this the CEO said that they have a whole lot of customer traffic coming in and
that really helped her shares jump higher so right now five day change up
three point nine two percent year-to-date
up fifteen point two four percent this is a stock I would not expect to be
doing as well as it is Ross is another one I'd probably look at
Ross t.j.maxx if you're looking if your consumer going out there looking for
bargains those are two places that you shop because if you have cash to burn
that's where you'll go so interesting their follow right behind is coal so
coals on that's here oh they dipped okay so Tuesday the
realist or earnings they fell by seven point four two percent
so despite their you know they're they're the head they the reported
strong profits in revenue but their store sales were you know their store
sales were great on the quarter but comments of the weaker expectations for
the future sent a bit of a sell-off right there so it was oversold
fall in nearly seven point five percent and bestest thought it was a great
bargain being a dividend stock as well they bought into it at the dip Wednesday
Thursday Friday rose up ending and if I had a change of two point five three
percent so these are those good opportunities even you know they
released really good expectations they beat their profits they beat their
revenue but you know they said that they're gonna have a a weaker upcoming
quarter and that kind of caused their stock to over sell so with retail being
hammered as much as it has been lately I don't know of Kohl's would be a good buy
I know they're doing some sort of reconstruction inside there
stores I haven't shopped out of Kohl's in quite a while since Black Friday that
was back in November so I can't tell you how it's changed now one that did have a
bit of a hiccup here target was I think one of the roughed up ones I think close
as well was love oh no so target down six point two three this
week and one of the many retailers to suffer at the sell-off of the earnings
news the company reported earnings for the first quarter which came in below
expectations their shares did sell-off by you know for the week down six point
two three percent but on the date down five point seven percent so this could
be a good opportunity they're still down for the week a little over six percent
if you're interested in having you know buying target in the past this could be
a great buying opportunity they were up 15 percent year-to-date but with this
sell-off this week they are now up for the year today nine point one three
percent now Tiffany's is the winner of the retail yeah okay Tiffany's is the
winner so Tiffany I have we always have to check because okay so Tiffany's their
short shares rose on Wednesday by twenty three point two nine percent Tiffany
reported that had well beak Wall Street's expectations their
earnings for sure came in at one dollar and fourteen cents compared to their
expectations of just eighty three cents and that prompted the company to raise
its full-year outlook as well so good news well you know good news and what
else I think that they're doing a share buyback as well they're gonna be buying
back 1 billion dollars of their shares as part of the repurchase program so
that also helped their company as well so they beat expectations they released
good future earnings expectations and they announced that they're doing a 1
billion dollar share buyback this is one Tiffany's being the jeweler I didn't
expect Tiffany's to actually be popping as much as it had that was something I
had read on those yeah loads didn't do so well as far as their earnings so
here yes oh yeah they did it and they didn't beat their earnings here one
dollar in nineteen cents a share they missed the consensus the yeah the
estimate of one dollar and twenty two cents but over in the last year it's not
fifteen point five percent that was kind of reading through that solos they
didn't beat their earnings or their revenue but their stock jumped eleven
point nine nine percent so the reason I kind of want to talk about this because
yeah they did beat their earnings they didn't beat their you know their their
earnings per share estimates but what had actually helped their stock was that
they're it's you have it in my notes Bill Ackman of perishing square had 1
billion dollar position in the company and yeah he's revealed as a hedge fund
manager and that kind of jumped up all any of their losses they had made the
day prior they regained it and continue to grow for the five day change up
eleven point nine percent so while their earnings and their you know their
earnings per share in their revenue didn't meet expectations
just because this hedge fund manager bought 1 billion dollars of the position
in the company that shot up the stock by ten point four
three percent in the week of eleven point nine nine percent I thought that
was really crazy I think Lowe's is the great star clothes
home depot Costco those are all great blue blue chip stocks and I was just
really surprised at that one so lb brands they got a boost today of
three point four four percent right on their the parent company of Victoria's
Secret and Bed Bath and Beyond they had released her earnings and had actually
beat expectations as well as net income for the first quarter the stock had been
kind of slowing down prior to earnings they didn't really know what you know
the investors didn't really know what to expect but what actually caused let's
see here that's here I don't know if they increase their dividend or just
kind of continued kind of hold it out but stock down they
did lower expectations kind of going forward but it didn't seem to affect
their their overall change for the week so they did dip a little bit in the
after-hours rose back up on opening day and kind of continued on footlocker was
another one my buddy likes buying footlocker shoes
he always post pictures of his shoes that he buys that footlocker I think he
had worked there somebody's got a very nice employee anyways he's really
invested in a stock he posted a picture and send it over to me saying that he
had a major win this week I didn't believe him because who shops that
footlocker right so if I had a changeup 28.3 1% basically because the company
had beat Wall Street's expectations of so they had a $1 and 45 earnings per
share versus expectations of $1 24 so very crazy up 18 point nine zero percent
year-to-date and that's basically they were in the
negative by 10 percent so just in a single week they went up from negative
10 percent year-to-date to now positive 18.9% that's amazing I thought that was
incredible myself next we have Gap Inc ticker symbol GPS now this one down 10.8
three percent year-to-date down seventeen point three five percent this
company cannot get a break they had extra excess inventory they also missed
their earnings their revenue so this stock plummeted just due to future
expectations investors were not kind of holding this one this is one I can't see
working as a retail store gap is at the very bottom I remember nobody shop there
when I was in high school and that was 10 plus years ago so now I don't know
how this stock is still here but still wanted to cover it this week down ten
point eight three percent just in five days seventeen point three five percent
over the year to date now this is what I kind of want to talk a little bit about
financials you know with the change on Wednesday
so on Wednesday financials were mostly down as the President signed the
rollback of some of the regulations imposed on banks during the financial
crisis this moved aim to ease regulations on some of the smaller banks
now with other 250 billion dollars in valuations so credit unions and smaller
banks they're going to be helped out by this whole change the financial sector
ETF is made up of a whole lot of companies I posted one ticker symbol X
what your license will expire and I got to get a new license retail financial I
thought I posted two of them I posted one over on Facebook here where you go
right here I had V F H and a second one here is X L
F financial select sector and Vanguard financial index and they'll kind of have
very similar stuff JP Morgan being the primary one Bank of America and
Berkshire Hathaway right up there on top but anyways so American banks posted
their most profitable quarter ever and what had actually had happened is a lot
of these stocks down for the if down for the year so JP Morgan over the last
three months down five point six seven percent year-to-date up only 3.48%
Goldman Sachs three months changed Danny eleven point nine one percent
year-to-date down seven point seven five percent now the ETF's here that I'm kind
of tracking along this is X L F down point to one percent and we have the
Vanguard financial index ticker symbol vfh up point seven seven percent so this
was really interesting that banks profits soared twenty-eight percent
during the first three months of 2018 256 billion dollars Goldman Sachs had
released earnings just a bit ago I followed Jeremy's channel and he talked
about goldman sachs posting incredible numbers beating expectations on their
revenue on their earnings per share making so much billions of you know
dollars within the in the quarter but their stock actually fell despite all
those you know positive things kind of going for it and kind of watching a lot
of stuff kind of going on as far as the banking banking is what kind of you know
banking the technology is quite it kind of holds up the whole the market if the
if the banks and the financials don't move then the whole market doesn't move
if we're having 5050 it's gonna stay in the middle so right now we're kind of
waiting for the banks to kind of kick in the gear here and while they're being
very profitable I'm just not seeing any sort of uptrend so I think that's kind
of interesting these could be great buys depending on how the market goes the the
financial sector can can continue to fall and flusher I just think it's
really weird that we're posting incredible profits over the last three
months and just the best you know Kronberg Congress president cut
regulations to the financials and financial stocks and their most
profitable I thought that was really interesting I don't know about you guys
but that's a year home construction ETF ticker symbol ITB down for the year
still ten point nine three percent five-day change up one point two five
percent last week it was down and I believe about a point this week up one
point two five percent oil down five point two percent this week that is
completely normal I saw some comments on some of the other channels and some of
the Facebook groups talking about hey oil is pulling back 5% this week you
know is that something that we should consider and look at and you know oil
over the last one three months not even three months just over the last month I
thought it was month maybe more okay three months up seven point one three
percent so it was up by quite a be you can see here year-to-date up three
thirteen point nine one percent which is actually beating the S&P 500 so
completely normal to see these sort of pull backs here these happen in the past
you'll get like a five percent pullback and it'll kind of rise again so nothing
to worry about there silver 0.32% and gold points
five four yet almost 30 minutes I'm gonna go ahead and end the video there I
think we kind of hammered every single thing that I want to talk about this
week you know interest rates are continuing to sell off as bonds are
getting purchased I follow a couple other youtubers who feel that the stock
market is kind of being held up right now due to you know the bankers and such
buying the bonds which is causing the ten yield it was up to a high of three
point ten percent last week but now it's fallen by two point it's falling to two
point nine three percent so there's a lot of prop up that I'm hearing in the
stock market which you know could be good or bad they're expected that the
market will continue to trend either sideways or move positive and till mid
elections and then who knows after that but that's just some news and gossip
that I've heard so that is basically it for this video if you guys do have any
sort of questions or any sort of comments or anything go ahead and let me
know in the comment section below I always appreciate your guys's feedback

Hernia Mesh: An Absolute Health Disaster - Duration: 7:38.
We're about to un-ring a fire on Mike Papantonio here with Robert Price.
Robert of course does, you've seen him on the show before.
He does complex litigation all over the country, mostly with medical devices.
So I want to talk to it right now.
The story about surgical mesh, this being implanted in the bodies of thousands of people
every day, is not a story that corporate media can tell you, because their advertisers won't
let them tell you this story.
In fact, they can't tell you because their advertisers, the people who make this product,
not only won't tell them, won't allow them to do it, they'll actually dry up advertising
money if they tell stories like this.
So they can't really do an investigative expose about this.
The advertising dollars are just too big.
So with me right now is Attorney Robert Price.
He's handling hernia mesh cases, and he's going to tell us the story that you won't
hear anywhere else.
Robert, first of all, has it, hernia mesh, it's been around forever, we think it's something
that's fairly innocuous they're putting in human bodies all over the country.
Give me your take on how bad this actually is, this hernia mesh story.
It's really bad, Mike, especially in the past 10 years or so, because you're right.
Surgical mesh, and polypropylene, which is a plastic based mesh, has been used for decades
in the surgical community.
But what we're seeing here is that these manufacturers are now making these, I kind of call them
these easy kits for doctors, with these different meshes with these designs.
There are experimental designs that they each use to try to jump ahead of one another in
this market share race.
In other words, somebody comes in with a hernia operation.
Yeah.
It used to be that you had to have a special surgeon that could do that.
Right.
And so the industry says, "Oh no, we're going to make something where any doctor can do
this.
They don't have to have special training.
They don't have to be a special surgeon.
Just give them the kit, and let them go."
Isn't that kind of what this industry is?
Absolutely correct.
If you've got a really skilled surgeon, that surgeon doesn't necessarily need mesh.
Or if that surgeon does need to use mesh, it's a small piece of mesh, or it's a more
complex procedure.
So absolutely.
It's this sort of sales mentality, it's like, "Well, anybody can do this.
Here's this special mesh.
It's easy to use.
It's got this coding, or it's got this ring, or it's got this special feature that makes
it great."
And the special feature is completely bogus, and it's unstudied, and it's causing infections,
and all sorts of massive, massive debilitating injuries.
Okay.
You saw this same thing.
You kind of led the charge on the vaginal mesh.
They were putting this mesh inside women's vaginas, and inside they're trying to hold
up the kidney, and the urinary system.
Explain that case, because this is just an extension of that, isn't it?
Right.
It's the same garbage they were putting in women's bodies.
Absolutely.
First of all, it was nothing different than just pure fishing line, that you could buy
at a fishing store.
Isn't that kind of what this story developed into?
Right.
Absolutely.
So some years back, you've seen the Kugel Mesh litigation.
This was years ago, where lawyers were bringing claims based on this defective ring.
Then years went by, and we did the transvaginal mesh litigation, and we started learning about
the behavior of these manufacturers, who are the same manufacturers essentially, just the
hernia mesh manufacturers.
You see a broad spectrum behavior of using mesh that's not cleared for medical grade
use.
In fact, some of these manufacturers use polypropylene that actually says on the material sheet,
"Do not use this in the human body."
Yeah, there's a material data sheet, and the material data sheet shows how the product
can be used, or how it should be used.
The manufacturers understood because the document said, "Don't use this to put in a human body."
But they did it anyway.
Exactly.
And that's just one component of the story.
The other component of the story is on top of this bad mesh, you have these coatings,
these chemicals.
One company even uses fish oil.
Just all of these things.
An idea here is that they go to surgeons and they say, "Use this mesh laparoscopically.
It's real easy to do.
You can place it right up against the bowel, and this fish oil coating, or this special
chemical coating, is going to help keep it safe from the bowel."
So what's the truth of the matter?
The truth is the coating either causes infections, or it just literally just wicks right away,
and the mesh actually eats into the bowel causing bowel obstructions, massive surgeries.
People even have to live in a colostomy bag because of damages caused by this stuff.
All because of this kind of marketing transcendence that we see.
Cheap mesh, no studies, slap it out to doctors-
Point out the no studies.
How did this get on the market without them actually doing studies on the hernia mesh
itself?
How did it?
It's out there without studies.
That's what's so remarkable.
It's actually out there without studies.
... yeah.
There are two types of studies you see.
So you see the animal studies.
Probably half the animal studies I've read are the animal studies show, "Oh crap, this
stuff is killing these animals.
Put those studies aside."
And then the other studies that they think are favorable, they parse out those studies
and show those to doctors.
No human studies.
The only human studies, if you want to say, are the adverse event reports that we see
after they've been implanted in thousands of people, thanks to our FDA, who doesn't
required studies to be done in the first place, on humans.
I know you're very well familiar with the 510(k) process, right?
Well the 510(k) is where you have a company that says, "We have an item.
We have a mesh that's similar to the one that you want to put in the human body."
And so the FDA says, "Oh sure.
Go ahead and do it.
Have you done any longterm studies to figure out how humans are affected?"
"No, not really, but it's already out there, so we get to do it too."
Isn't that kind of how that works?
Absolutely, it's like you said.
A lot of these products that are on the market are based on meshes 10 years ago.
What's not funny, but what is crazy about this stuff, is that when you have these experimental
designs, the 510(k) application actually looks like this.
It says, "This mesh is just like this mesh, this mesh, this mesh, and this mesh."
Well, say have you ever studied what would happen if you put all these properties together?"
"No, it's just like these meshes."
And again, the FDA says, "Oh yeah.
That sounds like good science."
Here's the truth of the matter.
We don't spend enough time as patients asking doctors A, "Could you do this without the
mesh?
Could you actually perform the surgery without the mesh?"
The doctor's going to say, "Probably not" Okay.
"So get me the guy who can do this without mesh."
That's the first thing.
The second thing we don't ask them is, "How much do you know about the studies that were
done on this product that you want to put in my body."
All the doctor's really confronted with is what we call the detail, or that's the salesperson
comes by their office, has cupcakes for them, says, "Doc, we're so glad you're buying our
product."
They take them out to lunch.
They'll take them on these exorbitant trips, places like Hawaii, and have what they call
a seminar, where they talk about their product.
It's just the biggest scam, and unfortunately, patients are too often too afraid to confront
the doctor, and ask questions about the pill that they're taking, or about what's being
put in their body.
