Reverse Insulin Resistance — How Joaquin Reversed Type 2 Diabetes - Duration: 8:30.

I had my first appointment three months later, and when I walked in I had lost close to 35

pounds, and my blood pressure was down, my sinuses were clear, and my doctor was shocked

by the transformation in a short period of time.

I would eat a meal of you know potatoes, I make

beans and rice, and I take those to work every day.

In the morning, I take raw oats and I put fruit

on top of it, and that's what I eat for breakfast, I would eat that until I was full, and I would

test my blood and it was like 115 - 120, Wow!

Right?

After a month of eating this way, the difference in your health and that way you're going to

feel you're going to thank yourself, and you're going

to see that it's well worth it.

[Music] I wasn't feeling well for some time and I

would not go to the doctor.

I had severe headaches, I had a congestion, my toes started to tingle.

I got a doctor who'd never seen me before, I didn't

have a relationship with, so she instead of talking to me she got into the medical record

and she noticed that the previous December, this was

in June of 2017, the previous December my A1c

was 6.8, I think, and then she says I need you to go have your blood drawn right now.

I tried to say, "Hey, you know I didn't fast" and she

says "I don't care, go do it, now" and a day later I got

an email sent, it was 7.1 and I was officially diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic, and I was

sent to have my eyes examined, have my feet examined,

and you feel like, you're shocked, and you say I really did it this time, and I need

to get treatment.

At that point, I attended the classes they sent me to, which were sponsored by my health

plan and the initial class they were talking about diabetes, and what to expect, and what

to look for, and by then I had already done some

research online, and I came to know the term Insulin Resistance, during this class I asked

the nurse, because the guy was an RN, I said "I'm

sorry, I didn't mean to throw you off track, but my

understanding is that type 2 diabetes is insulin resistance" and the guy goes "that's a

conversation for another day", which blew my mind right, because I go how can you talk

about what I'm to expect, what I should do, if you

don't tell me what my decease is.

At that time, I started doing research online, that's when

I found Cyrus, recorded the YouTube video of a

Medical Center in Southern California, and upon hearing him saying you can eat fruit,

I said you know "I need to talk to this guy".

I went to the retreat and it was an incredible experience for me, because it was a very

nourishing supportive environment, I made friends that I'm still friends with to this

date.

The education that I received on those four days

immediately changed the way I live my life, entirely.

I adopted the diet, the style, I eat primarily Whole Foods, I exercise five to six days a

week.

You meet everyone, and you're given an outline

of what's going to take place over the next few days,

and the next morning I walked in and there were buckets of bananas, mangoes, you know,

kiwis, and I'm like are you serious, I go I'm going to love this, right!.

You ate healthy really tasty foods, I didn't taste anything the entire

time that left me wanting more, quite the contrary, in the

mornings I would say, I can't wait to finish this bowl of mangoes, so I can get some more,

and then you finish it up going, wait a minute

I'm full.

You realize that all the fiber and the water, and

the nutrients make it hard to overeat, when you're eating fruit, you stop when you're

done.

I was shocked at the level of detail, I've never heard such about biology, chemistry,

cell function, and we started at 7 a.m. and ended at 10 p.m.

every day.

And in between there were exercises, we would exercise until you couldn't

get off the ground anymore, and what impacted me the most is that you know Robby and Cyrus

would say listen, look around, where are the weights?

where's the gym? you don't need any of that stuff, right.

I'm exercising six days, five to six days a week for an hour at least, and

I don't own dumbbells, I don't own anything, I use my

body, the only exercise equipment I purchased was a band that I hang from the door, so that

I can do, you know, lift, push-ups, and situps

and stuff, that's it!

that's all you need!

People try to over complicate how one has to eat to nourish the body.

It's very simple, you have your staples, you have rice, beans.

The thing that blows your mind is that nobody tells you don't

have to count calories, you don't have to do anything, you just have to eat healthy

food until you feel satisfied.

When I talk to folks that they're trying to lifestyle for the first time, they over

complicate, what to look for?

what to eat?.

The key here is to just eat simply, add spices as

necessary.

The book that you walk away with from the Summit tells you everything you need to

know.

I had my first appointment, three months later and when I walked in I had lost close to 35

pounds, and my blood pressure was down, my sinuses were clear, and my doctor was shocked

by the transformation in a short period of time.

She actually eventually signed up for the summit

that Mastering Diabetes puts up.

To find out how different foods were affecting me, I would actually test throughout the day

and I would eat a meal of potatoes, and make beans

and rice and I'd take those to work every day.

In the morning, I take raw oat and I put fruit

on top of him, and that's what I eat for breakfast, so I

would eat until I was full, and I would test my blood and it was like 115-120.

In the mornings, I was averaging between 85 and 91.

I don't even test my blood anymore when I run out of my

first supply of test strips, I never would fill my prescription because I was wasting

my time.

My blood sugar is normal in the mornings, throughout

the day.

The numbness of my feet went away.

I just feel fantastic and I know I'm that sick anymore.

Like I said, I'll test my A1c one more time when I'm asked to do by my doctor, but

I'm not even concerned about what the results are

going to be.

That's in six months, I've lost close to 40 pounds, and I don't even weigh myself

anymore because it's irrelevant.

I feel great!

My favorite meal, it's rice and beans, I love it!,

maybe because I grew up eating beans.

I get home with a baked potato, rise with like, it's funny

because all of a sudden I feel like I'm a little hungry at night instead of going to

grabbing trash, I'll throw a baked potato in the oven, put

a little a little pepper on it, a little bit of salt, and I'm

good to go, and it's satisfying, is fulfilling, and I know that it's nourishing me, and not

harming me.

Do this for yourselves!

The cost becomes negligible when you see the benefits afterwards,

you're not going to spend money on co-payments, you won't spend money on going to

expensive restaurants that are going to harm you.

I would call it a no brainer, you have to do

this for yourself.

After a month of eating this way and the difference in your health and the way

you're going to feel, you're going thank yourself and you're going to see that it's well worth

it.

How to Shoot a HYPERLAPSE - Duration: 6:40.

A hyperlapse is basically a moving time-lapse. It creates a very interesting

impossible kind of camera movement and it's actually not that difficult or

time-consuming, so seeing us this is one of my most requested tutorials, this week

I want to show you how I shoot my hyperlapses.

The first and most important step

to shooting a great hyperlapse is choosing a great location. Obviously

you'll need a lot of open and preferably flat space to move around in. You'll also

need to find a location with a point for you to focus your camera on and move

towards. It's especially helpful if this point is located on a vertical line. That

vertical line is why you see so many hyperlapses of buildings or towers.

Having an additional line on the ground leading up to that point like a sidewalk

is also extremely helpful because you can follow that line while you're

shooting. The only gear you need to shoot a good hyperlapse is your camera and

your lens. You can use a tripod and you'll get a slightly more stable shot

but if you shoot it handheld it's significantly faster. Using a wide-angle

lens is definitely better for a hyperlapse because it's going to make

that camera motion appear a lot larger and more dramatic. I won't be using my

wide-angle lens because I broke it, so there's that. A good hyperlapse does take

some editing so you're going to want to shoot in a pretty high resolution and

quality so that you can have the flexibility to edit in post. Make sure to

enable your camera's guide lines and center marker and if you have an

in-camera level using that can definitely be helpful. Before you start

shooting you need to decide on a camera motion for your shot. This could be

moving towards your subject or away from your subject, you could move past it or

around it but the easiest one is definitely just moving straight towards

that subject. Next you'll need to figure out how much you need to move and how

many photos you need to take to complete that camera motion. For every 24 photos

you take you're going to have one second of your final hyperlapse so

if you want to shoot a four second long hyperlapse you need to take 96 photos.

This means that the more distance you have to cover the more you'll need to

move in between your shots. When I shot this hyperlapse I wasn't covering too

great of a distance so I only took one step in between the photographs. However

for this one I was covering a significantly longer distance so I took

I believe 10 steps between those photos. Once you've done that you finally get to

move on to actually shooting that hyperlapse and the process itself is

actually quite simple. All you need to do is focus on that point, get your camera

level, take a photo, and then take a step forward and repeat. Making sure that

you're moving in a straight line just line it up, take a photo, step forward,

take another photo, step forward, and keep going for a long-ass time.

Once you've taken all of your photos we'll take those and play them rapidly

together like a time-lapse or a stop-motion animation. At this point

after all that work and all that time you can finally look back and just

appreciate the wonderful hyperlapse that you've created. Just kidding, it looks

terrible and we have loads of editing to do so let's do that. I'm doing my

editing using a program called HitFilm Express but if you use Premiere Pro you

can still follow along with this tutorial and achieve a very similar

effect. Start off by importing all of the photos for your hyperlapse as an image

sequence, and if your software doesn't allow you to import an image sequence

then just go into the settings, change the default image duration to a single

frame, and then drag all of your pictures onto the timeline and you can re-export

that timeline and you'll be able to view your hyperlapse

as a video. It's basically like stop-motion. Now that you've turned that

group of photos into a single video it's time to stabilize that shaky camera

motion. Warp stabilizer can be quite helpful and a lot of people use that for

their hyperlapses but if that doesn't work then there's a method that I prefer

to use which is manual stabilization using motion tracking. I know that sounds

scary but just stay with me, it's really not that bad. Using a two-point track,

track the focal point of your hyperlapse as well as another point in the image

moves similarly. That's why it's really good to have a vertical line as your

subject, because having that second point as another point on the vertical line

will give you easily the best result that you can have. If your second

tracking point is in a completely different part of the frame than your

first one then you're going to get weird warping and rotating effects when you

stabilize your shot. So just make sure you pick something that has a motion

similar to that of your main points. Once you've finished tracking both

points use that two-point track to stabilize the position and rotation of

your clip and finally just add some motion blur to the entire shot to create

the illusion of that fast motion. At this point if you did everything right you

should be done for real and you should be able to go back and just enjoy

watching your hyperlapse. It really is quite satisfying. Before this video ends

I want to do something a little bit differently this week to get you guys

more engaged with this video and make this channel more interactive. Just go

out and, using the techniques that I've discussed in this video, make a hyperlapse of your own

and send it to me. And if you send me a hyperlapse that you've done yourself I will include it and shout you

out in a video not next week but two weeks from now. I think this will be a

great way to not only feature some of your work on my channel in addition to

my own but also to kind of allow me to see how my tutorials are helping you or

maybe not helping you and see any impact that these videos are having on what you

are creating. I'd love to make my tutorials more of an interactive process

so if you're interested in that go ahead and send me something that you make

using this video and I'll include it in the video two weeks from now. But anyway

that is all for this week's video I hope you enjoyed it, learned something from it

and if you did do feel free to show your support by leaving a like on the

video or even subscribing to my channel I upload new filmmaking tutorials every

single Saturday, keep creating and I'll see you in the next one.

Women Who Never Went To Prom Choose Prom Dresses - Duration: 8:22.

- Awful.

- [Woman] Aaw.

(upbeat music)

- I didn't go to my prom.

One, being that I thought I was too cool for school dances.

Two, our prom was also on a boat and I get seasick.

- England generally doesn't really have proms.

I grew up with American TV shows and American movies.

I always wanted to go to like a real American prom.

- Believe it or not, wasn't that popular in high school.

Figured, well, it's not really worth it to go to prom

because it's gonna cost a lot of money,

did not have any prospective dates.

- Although I'm not going to prom,

I'm excited to at least choose the dress.

- I like the idea of wearing something really audacious.

I am sad that I missed out on that opportunity.

- One thing I did do when I was in high school,

I still looked at prom dresses online.

- I think people will be surprised to see me in

something so formal and potentially

something really feminine.

- I don't really dress up for the office.

- Kinda nervous to go around like with anything tight on me,

but gotta get outside your comfort zone sometimes.

We're here at the mall.

- Let's go shopping.

- Let's go shopping!

(upbeat music)

- Doesn't really fit.

- This has existed, definitely from when I was

in high school to now.

They just like added one more strap

and called it new this season.

- I don't know if I seem like the type of person

who loves sparkles, but I love glitter.

I wanna feel like a princess.

- Why would you put these two colors together?

- [Woman] Yeah.

- I like this, what if this was full length.

I didn't shave my legs well enough.

I anticipated a long dress.

- Is there a dress code in schools,

'cause I'm not from America.

'Cause this seems very risque.

- I don't remember if we had prom-specific dress codes.

In school, school, we had the three finger rule,

which is like, you couldn't wear a strap that was

thinner than three fingers.

- [Woman] That is insane.

- But for prom, like so many prom dresses are

spaghetti straps.

- It has pockets.

- I never wear floor-length dresses.

I mean, who does really, I guess.

But I would like to find one that's super long.

I'm actually kinda into this.

- [Woman] You should try it on.

- Um, no, I probably wouldn't.

I'm not a suit person, particularly,

but I just like jackets a lot.

- I love the netting under it,

but it's just not really prommy, is it?

It's like a summer party in the garden.

- What I want to see in a prom dress is something

a little off-the-shoulder.

Off-the-shoulder is very on trend right now.

- That's a great idea.

- And I love off-the-shoulder 'cause it's a little skin,

and I'm not seeing as much of it

around here as I thought I would.

It definitely wouldn't have been there

when we were in high school 'cause it wasn't cool back then.

- This is like--

- [Woman] Too heavy.

- This is like wearing chain mail like a knight.

- This one's not, that one's kinda cool and art deco.

- [Woman] Yep.

- I'm going to five, making up for lost time.

- I wear a lot of black, and so I think

I want to stay away from black.

I picked up this big blue one.

I don't know how I feel about it,

I don't really like these halter top things,

and they usually give me way too much cleavage,

so... we'll see.

- I'm trying on the poofiest thing I can find

just for fun.

And then some less poofy things.

(upbeat music)

This is insane.

I don't actually hate it just 'cause its so different

from what I'd ever wear.

I feel like I'd spend the whole night

just holding it up like this.

- Awful.

- [Woman] Aaw.

- But as I said, I don't think the halter thing

does really well for me.

My boobs aren't like small and perky.

Clearly, this is where the nipple is supposed to be

and that's like not where mine is at all.

I like the color a lot though.

I wish it was this print but in a thin fabric

and a shape that I liked.

- It's weirdly making me feel very confident

'cause I don't ever wear clothes like this.

It's so tight in the chest though,

you can see they're asking for some air.

- I'm surprised at how much I like this.

- [Woman] Wow.

- It looks better than on the rack now that it's got

some shape to it.

The only thing is, is that it's too loose on the skirt

and too tight here.

- It is, I would have to put like some glue or something.

It's kinda like vampy.

I feel like a sexy witch.

(laughing)

- Yeah, I definitely think I'm gonna go for one that has

the poofy bottom because it's a little more glamorous.

- I do not usually wear form-fitting stuff,

so this is like, I feel like I have to constantly be like...

- Simple?

- Really?

- I feel like a flamenco dancer.

I do like the slinky silhouette, and the off-the-shoulder.

- I would probably wear this normally.

- [Woman] Ooo.

- Well, we've tried on a bunch

and I think we've each found our dress.

- We have.

- Yep.

- Let's go back to the office and see what people think.

- Let's go to prom.

- Or that.

(upbeat music)

- So we have our dresses on,

we're ready to go and show the office.

- This is more skin than I think

I've ever shown anyone, maybe.

- You guys look really pretty.

- I love them.

- Wow, pockets.

- I can't even take my eyes off you guys.

This is so, so great.

- Oh my God, you guys, aah!

You look like the dancing girl emoji.

- I'm used to seeing you guys in very casual stuff,

and ya'll look professional all the time,

but it's nice seeing you guys all dressed up.

- You guys all look like your own person.

I wouldn't peg you in a sparkly dress,

but the pockets make it.

- What I had forgotten is that prom dresses

have a lot of fabric.

- Oh.

(laughing)

Now I'm the prom queen.

- [Woman] Oh, look at that.

Such a good friend.

- Did you get them custom made or something?

- No, we just got them at the department store.

- My mom actually chose my dress for prom

and I thought it was the hideous thing ever,

and then I wore it and I got the most unique dress at prom.

So I don't know what that means, but I got an award.

- I wore like hot pink and then a halter top,

and it was all leopard print.

- I was really tan 'cause it was the big 2000s,

and I had long blonde hair.

- Nice!

- And I wore gold, I wore a strapless gold gown.

- It's the kind of dress I can wear to other places, maybe,

if I ever go to like a super fancy place.

I feel like that is prom.

- I feel like this is more prom than that.

This is like you're going to a gala.

- Would you wear this again?

- I would not because it's not really my style.

I like glamour but it's a little bit...

- Too much.

- Too much.

It's a different sensation than I'm used to,

especially showing my coworkers who I don't think

have ever seen my bare shoulders.

- [Woman] We don't know if maybe this

wouldn't be allowed in some schools.

- As someone who has some experience in this,

I can tell you that all of these dresses

at some schools would be dinged.

You can see the sheer paneling, and also 'cause

there's like a gap between the edge of that and your armpit.

- Whoa!

- Do you think teens are chill to wear this?

- Yeah, like if I had a kid...

- I really think for prom, it's just like, do you.

Like whatever you're most comfortable in, go and do.

- I think it's really fun because as a teen,

I was way more insecure about my body and how

I was presenting myself to the world.

I'm still insecure about those things,

but just a notch less, so it was nice to be able to pick

something from that prom section that adult me

really feels like I can rock.

- So I still haven't been to prom,

but at least I got to choose the dress.

That is probably one of the more

fun things to do about prom anyway.

- Seeing myself in the dresses, in the dressing room,

I did feel surprisingly confident in them.

- Just like get yourself a prom dress

because it really does wonders for your confidence.

I feel great, and I don't have anywhere to go,

so get a prom dress.

PAINTING WITH COFFEE + TIPS - Duration: 5:59.

What's up guys!

I loved making this video, it was one of my favorites

I'm shivering lol

I'll give you tips for coffee painting

I didn't give during the video cause it would mess up the song

I love this song and it was looking like a music video

Btw I hope you enjoy it

And before giving you the tips I gotta tell you this

The song is called William by Moontower

You can listen to it on Spotify

And watch the official video, link in the description

What happened was crazy

I told this story on my IG stories

If you don't follow me there it's @mikaelaserur

I was listening to my Discover Weekly on Spotify

And when I found out this song I thought "I need to use this for a video"

Then I contacted the band on Instagram

Their Instagram is @thisismoontower

And I asked permission for using the song and they allowed it!

Thank you Moontower! <3

Then I came up with this crazy idea for coffee painting

Some of you suggested this challege

And I decided to draw the character William Hollywood from the song

Who also enjoys Orange Juice

So that's the concept behind the video

And the glasses I used were from a brazilian store

And now the coffee painting tips:

I used soluble coffee, I think that's the best way

Because this way the coffee gets darker

So use the soluble one!

Mixture one spoon with a little bit of hot water

This way it will be concentrated

You can put some water in another bowl

Then you will have a dark coffe and a light one

Don't use sugar, it will mess up everything

Use pure coffee

For the darker tones in the drawing you'll need a second layer

So wait for it to dry

The paper needs to be thick, it's like a watercolor

You'll use water on it!

Comment more challenges and tell me if you enjoyed this video

Follow the band on Instagram, send them some brazilian love

So they can see that we are awesome

I hope you enjoyed it and see you next time!

The Puppies Go To The Beach - Duration: 12:38.

(light cheerful music)

- [Narrator] The service dogs in training from Doggy Do Good

have a big day ahead of them.

It's beach day!

The sun, the surf, and boundless distractions

that could cause any of these dogs to flunk

out of Service Dog School.

This is Puppy Prep.

^(light cheerful music)

None of the pups are more excited to smell that ocean air

^than eight-month-old Golden Retriever, Luke.

He's been hanging out by the beach since

he was only a couple months old.

^His half-sister, Remmy, is also excited,

maybe too excited.

It's all right for her to take a second

and adjust to the new sights and smells,

but when it comes time for work,

Remmy's going to need to focus.

For these puppies, the first order of business

at any new location is to sample the local grass.

While they're not supposed to chew on the foliage,

it's easy for the pups to sneak a bite

when the trainers have their backs turned.

And the trainers turn their back frequently.

Having this many puppies around draws attention,

and people are excited to learn about the service dogs.

But Nelly and Remmy are taking this chance to mess around.

(dogs barking)

The dogs aren't supposed to go on the sand after 10:00,

and while special exception can be made for service animals,

there's no shortage of other activities by the ocean,

like the playground.

The playground offers a multitude of different surfaces,

sounds, and experiences.

All of this builds confidence,

getting the puppies ready for anything.

^First one up, six-month-old Chocolate Lab, Benelli.

Climbing on rocks and walking on sand may appear simple,

but it's actually building the puppy's comfort

on a variety of surfaces.

Wherever Benelli goes, she needs to be focused

not on where she's standing but on what her owner may need.

- Good girl.

- [Narrator] After breezing through the different surfaces,

it's time for something that will really disorient her.

- Good girl.

- [Narrator] The slide.

While Benelli's future owners may never actually

take her down a slide, it's important she has confidence

to handle all kinds of new experiences.

At first, she's nervous, but with some coaxing

and the promise of treat...

- Good girl!

- [Narrator] ...even a puppy like Benelli

can find her courage.

Now back on firm land,

the trainer is sure to praise Benelli up,

building a connection in the puppy's mind

between bravery and reward.

Fresh off the excitement of the slide,

Trainer Paul tosses his keys to ensure Benelli

still knows it's work time.

- Good, get it.

- [Narrator] And she happily does her job.

- Benelli, great, get it.

Benelli, get it.

Good girl.

- [Narrator] There's still one more slide for

Benelli to attempt.

(dramatic drumbeats)

The spiral slide.

That is, if she can get up to it.

With a bit of a running start...

- Benelli, jump.

- [Narrator] ...she makes the leap.

- Good girl.

- [Narrator] Her lesson from the other slide

has her excited to try this one.

Having never seen them before five minutes ago,

slides are now simple for the six-month-old Chocolate Lab.

- Woo hoo hoo!

Good girl! Good girl.

- [Narrator] Back with the dogs in down stay,

^Karen tries to refocus Remmy.

She tries to get the Golden to heel,

and focus in,

but the eight-month-old won't settle down.

This isn't good.

Remmy's future owner will count on her,

day in and day out.

And, it looks like Remmy's lack of focus

is starting to spread.

Luke, get back!

Come on, Karen's trying to focus on Remmy.

Kaya, are you serious?

Come on!

- Kaya, no!

- [Narrator] All three Goldens have the sillies now,

even usually dependable Luke.

Kaya has to refocus, and quick.

It's her turn to walk the playground.

^The eight-month-old enjoys jumping on different surfaces.

- Good girl!

Good girl.

Come on, let's go.

- [Narrator] The straight slide.

- Good girl!

Good girl, Kaya!

Good girl!

- [Narrator] And when it's time for the spiral slide,

what was a tough jump for Benelli

is an easy hop for Kaya.

But, what goes up must come down,

and Kaya's confused how that's supposed to happen.

When Sandy, the owner of Doggie Do Good, leads the way,

Kaya eventually figures it out.

She's immediately praised for her bravery.

- Good girl!

Good girl!

- [Narrator] A second attempt down the slide...

(laughs)

Oh, look at you.

Oh, no.

Good try, Kaya. Good try.

- Good girl.

Good girl, Kaya.

- [Narrator] But, what's important

is that Kaya's conquered her fear, and admirably so.

Back in the down stay,

it looks like Remy has finally calmed...

Oh.

Relax, Remmy. It's just a bird.

All right. Good girl, Remmy.

Thank goodness you're finally starting

to show some self-control, otherwise today

could have been the day you failed at...

Oh no.

- [Trainer] Remmy!

- [Narrator] Breaking from a down stay

to this degree is a bad sign.

With Karen working with Kaya,

Paul has to leave the dogs to find where Remmy ran off.

Even though they're unsupervised,

they don't dare to break;

no one wants the fate that's about to befall Remmy.

Lockdown.

Remmy now has to think about what she's done,

and hope it doesn't mean expulsion.

^Now, it's Luke's turn to take a lap around the playground.

- Good boy.

- [Narrator] His first challenge is the rocking horse.

Karen is trying to get Luke to jump over it,

in preparation for future awkward spaces.

- Stay.

- [Narrator] Luke is not having it.

- Good boy. Jump over it.

- [Narrator] He hasn't had problems of bravery in the past,

so this is a new issue.

- Over it. Nope.

Over it. Good boy, come on.

- [Narrator] Eventually, our hero figures it out.

- Good, good!

Good boy!

- [Narrator] And Karen is sure to reward his courage.

- Good job!

Good boy, let's go!

- [Narrator] If Luke shows the same hesitation on the slide,

then...

- Good boy!

- [Narrator] ...well, nevermind.

- Good job, Luke!

Good boy!

- [Narrator] Looks like after only a couple attempts,

he's already a pro.

- Good job! Good boy!

- [Narrator] Good job, buddy.

- Good job.

- [Narrator] When Luke returns to down stay,

he finds Deacon is still getting used to his harness.

He's not quite sure why he can't flip

all the way over on his back.

Paul straightens him out, and it's back to down stay.

^Okay, Remmy.

^You've had a tough day so far,

so time to redeem yourself on the playground.

First up is the rocking horse that Luke struggled with.

- Come on. Good girl.

Over it.

- [Narrator] Just like with her half-brother,

it's a matter of confidence.

- Let's go.

- [Narrator] And it suddenly looks

like Remmy's lost most of hers.

The culprit?

The pirate ship steering wheel.

- Just need a second.

- [Narrator] Notice how her tail is tucked between her legs?

So do the trainers.

They're hyper-aware of the pup's attitude,

and this is a huge signal from Remmy.

Karen gets down on Remmy's level

and starts feeding her treats.

She pets her and praises her,

trying to show Remmy she's safe.

Remmy then has to pass by the wheel several more times,

ensuring the dog has confronted her fear.

- [Karen] Good girl.

- [Narrator] If Karen can get Remmy to sniff the wheel

or be still next to it, that's going to be a great

indication that Remmy's making progress.

- Good girl!

- [Narrator] Eventually, a sniff.

- [Karen] Good job!

- [Narrator] And after a few more laps,

her tail starts to wag again.

Remmy's done extremely well, and with so much excitement

already had on the playground,

the slide can wait for another day.

^Back on the grass, the undeniable Mr. Pip

^finds himself in an embarrassing situation.

- [Trainer] Mr. Pip.

- [Narrator] Because he is by far the worst at down stay,

Mr. Pip has to be tied up, to the other dogs.

Luke seems confused why he has to babysit,

but he doesn't mind.

It gives him something to watch

as he snacks on the grass.

- [Trainer] Luke, leave it.

Luke, release.

- [Narrator] Finally, some respect.

Unbelievable.

Chin up, Mr. Pip.

You're still a hero in our hearts.

(Mr. Pip whines)

^Another hero from Doggie Do Good is recent graduate Sammy.

Sammy transitioned to his forever family

only five months ago, but his bond with handler Bryce

has been immediate.

Sammy helps Bryce with several diagnoses,

including generalized anxiety disorder, ADHD,

inflammatory bowel disease, and bipolar disorder.

One way Sammy aids Bryce

is during Bryce's regular blood draws.

Before going into an appointment,

Sammy gives Bryce hugs and pressure,

helping to prepare the boy

for the anxiety the needles cause.

During the draws, Sammy gives Bryce constant pressure

to help him feel more comfortable.

Sammy knows Bryce isn't in distress now,

but the 18-month-old lab checks in constantly,

making sure, if Bryce ever needs him, he's there.

While Bryce's family had always had animals,

at first, they weren't sure about adding a service dog.

The support that Sammy's provided

in only his first few months, however,

has made it all worth it.

Someday, the puppies in training

will have similar bonds with their owners

and be just as important to a family as Sammy is.

Back with the student pups, it's time

for a long walk on the beach.

^Or at least next to it.

^Remmy's had a big day, so trainer Paul

takes this walk very slow.

Whenever Remmy begins to pull away

or move in a different direction,

the trainer stops.

This teaches Remmy to stay focused.

During a heel, the puppies need to be

paying attention to the handler constantly,

not drifting away on their own line.

- [Paul] Good girl.

- [Narrator] Eventually, Remmy starts to do better.

On the stairs, heel is even more difficult for these pups.

Dogs want to be on even ground,

and prefer bolting up and down steps.

The people they'll someday aid, however,

may need help with stairs,

so it's important the puppies learn patience.

To end her day, Paul works with Remmy

on one of her special abilities: hug.

As difficult as the day has been for the young Golden,

it's important to remember that someday

she'll be a huge comfort to a lucky family.

It's going to take work and patience,

but it's clear it'll be worth it.

- Release.

Good.

- [Narrator] Some dogs can become nervous on the pier,

as the spaces between the uneven surfaces

can be uncomfortable under their paws.

^Not our Mr. Pip, though.

^He even finds the time to get in

some of his best down stay work to date.

Good boy, Mr. Pip.

As the day winds down, Paul begins

^to test a special skill with Kaya: steady.

Steady allows people with mobility issues

to put pressure on a dog, to sit down,

stand up, or just regain their balance.

It's one of Deacon's specialties,

and might someday be Kaya's as well.

Knowing her eight-month-old joints are still developing,

Paul puts only the lightest of pressure over her legs.

Once she's grown, she'll be able to take much more weight,

and may even wear a harness like Deacon.

At the end of the day, some dogs took steps forward,

while others, steps back.

For all these puppies, though,

it's still too soon to tell who will flunk out,

and who will graduate Puppy Prep.

This Is How Amazon's Alexa Records And Shares Private Conversations Without Your Permission - Duration: 4:16.

This Is How Amazon's Alexa Records And Shares Private Conversations Without Your Permission

by Tyler Durden

As it turns out, the scandal over Amazon's Alexa voice-controlled personal assistant

recording and sharing private conversations both with hackers and with people on the users'

contact list is much more serious than the company had feared.

As Bloomberg reported, Amazon responded to a KIRO 7 news report about a couple who received

a call from a friend saying "unplug your Alexa devices right now.

Youre being hacked" after the company's device had shared a private conversation without

explicit permission.

Amazon offered a complex, meandering "explanation" for the series of strange coincidences that

triggered Alexa to record and share a couple's private conversation.

It started with Alexa being triggered when it heard a word that sounded like "Alexa"

- the command for the technology activate.

Here are the details:

Amazon explained the series of events that triggered the episode in an emailed statement.

The Echo woke after hearing a word in the couples conversation that sounded like

"Alexa" -- the usual trigger to begin recording.

The speaker later heard "send message" during the conversation, at which point the device

asked, "to whom?"

The pair continued talking in the background and the Echos system interpreted part of

the chat to identify a name in the couples contact list.

Alexa then asked aloud if they wanted to send a message to that contact and heard "right"

in more background conversation.

"As unlikely as this string of events is, we are evaluating options to make this case

even less likely," the company said.

The report invigorated privacy concerns as internet-connected devices like the Amazon

Echo become ubiquitous in homes.

Amazon in 2014 introduced the new line of devices, which can also stream music and order

goods from Amazon via voice command.

It has been busy introducing updated versions and adding features to sell more devices than

rivals like Alphabet Inc. and Apple Inc., which offer their own versions.

The "explanation" suggests that consumers should be extremely careful of what they say

around their personal assistants to the point where more users should consider deactivating

the device when it's not in use.

And there's plenty: more than 60 million U.S. consumers will use a smart speaker at least

once a month this year, with more than 40 million of them using Amazons devices,

according to eMarketer Inc.

Ryan Calo, an associate law professor at the University of Washington who studies the intersection

of law and technology, said this incident could cause lasting damage not only to the

Alexa, and thus Amazon, brand but to voice-controlled personal assistants in general (Alphabet and

Apple make their own model).

People have been willing to overlook glitches in the Echo, like it turning on accidentally

or without the wake word being uttered, said Ryan Calo, an associate law professor at the

University of Washington who researches how law applies to technology.

This incident is more alarming since a private conversation was recorded and sent to a third

party, he said.

"Think about how uncomfortable the millions of people who own these things now feel,"

Calo said.

"The real harm is the invasion into solitude people now experience in their homes."

Not to mention the damage it could do to technology more broadly, as paranoia surrounding privacy

continues to intensify, according to Daniel Kahn Gillmor, the in-house technologist at

the American Civil Liberties Union.
