Duran Sanatorium - Paranormal Investigation in Abandoned Asylum, Costa Rica - Duration: 9:15.

hey guys today I'm at one of the scariest and most haunted places in

Costa Rica I'm going to take you for a look around go over its haunted history

and try and do a quick paranormal investigation the Duran sanatorium sits

in the quiet colorful mountains of Costa Rica which are characterized by a low

hanging thick grey fog in 1915 the sanatorium was erected in this area for

the belief that it was the perfect location to treat tuberculosis dr.

Carlos Duran led this project after traveling the world to gain the best

knowledge on how to treat the disease desperately attempting to cure his own

young daughter in the process the Duran sanatorium was the best treatment

facility for tuberculosis within Costa Rica for many years even though

mortality rates remained high it could hold up to 300 patients at a time who

received great care from a dedicated team of nuns the property was even soon

broadened to treat and house mentally ill patients in the early 1960s the

Duran sanatorium saw its purpose shift once again tuberculosis was no longer an

epidemic and many of the mentally ill patients were being transferred out to

more humane equipped treatment facilities to stay relevant the

sanatorium was then altered and repurposed living out the rest of its functional

days as an orphanage and later both a minimum and maximum security prison

the property remains functional until 1973 when a large eruption from a nearby

volcano caused extensive damage and led to the jury and sanatoriums closure the

building has remained abandoned since accumulating damage graffiti and a vast

amount of ghost stories one of the most prevalent ghost stories

to come out of the Duran sanatorium is that of a nun the apparition of an

older woman dressed as a nun has been reported within the sanatorium for many

years even during its time of operation it was believed that sighting the nun

was a good omen for sick patients back in the day and now her presence has

remained to continue to care for others at the premises another commonly sighted

ghost at the Duran sanatorium is that of a little girl she is believed to be the

daughter of dr. Carlos Duran who passed away from tuberculosis despite her

father's best efforts of treating her many claim to sight her sitting on the

many staircases within the derelict buildings or upon the rooftops another

female apparition has been sighted numerous times

she is always described as a pale older woman with white hair and wearing a blue

dress she is usually seen walking in hallways of the sanatorium peering out

of its windows before disappearing into thin air no one is quite sure of her

identity and it is debated whether she was once a patient or staff member here

many other paranormal occurrences have been reported at the Duran sanatorium

sightings of shadow figures within empty areas and apparitions of former patients

prisoners and children have also been reported others have heard the sounds of

children playing laughter whispers and moans of pain which originate from empty

cells others have reported disturbances to their electrical equipment with

charged batteries is suddenly draining and the presence of suddenly appearing and

disappearing cold spots of air Could the Duran Sanatorium be one of the most

haunted places in Costa Rica I caught up with a local to hear about their

Weekend Reflection - Trinity Sunday - Duration: 1:50.

- Have you ever wondered why God reveals himself

as three persons?

(inspirational music)

The question is,

why does God reveal himself to us

in three persons?

I think a simple answer for that is

to make room for us in the middle.

When you and I come to mass,

the first thing that we do, hopefully,

is we dip our hands into holy water,

to remember our baptism,

and then we sign ourselves

with the cross,

in the name of the Father, the Son,

and the Holy Spirit.

We do it instinctually.

Sometimes, we do it really fast,

without even thinking about,

but when we are doing that,

we are acknowledging the symbol of our salvation

that Jesus died on the cross for us,

but we are also acknowledging that we are in the Father,

the Son and the Holy Spirit,

that we are already in heavenly places

with our God by faith.

Jesus says, "I will be always,

"until the end of the age,"

and that's not just from a distance.

It's not just from a distance

that he lives on the inside of us,

that we have been invited into the divine life of God,

that when you are going through the trials of this life,

when you're faced with those questions

that need answers,

and sometimes, they don't come,

remember that you are in the Father,

you are in the Son, and in the Holy Spirit.

What a wonderful time,

as we exit the Easter season,

that we take a step back

and reflect on the totality of our faith.

We believe in the Trinity.

We do believe in one God,

who has revealed himself as three persons,

to make room for us in the middle.

By facing every challenge that comes with the moment, you�re able to control how your

life goes.

When you�re doing things that aren�t working against your will, life is more satisfying

and fulfilling.

That�s how you find real satisfaction, by realizing that you always have the power to

choose how you react, not the moments themselves.

4.

You can live in the moment fully by not attaching yourself to outcomes

While you create a mental idea of something before you make it happen, you should not

be attached to its outcome.

Anything can happen under the sun.

If things don�t happen the way you want them to be, accept and let go.

Living in the moment is being open to anything that is designed to take place.

5.

You have the power to cope with suffering

The presence of suffering can denote two things.

It�s either you�re doing something wrong and suffering is the only way to wake you

up, or you�re being nudged to roar and realize your full potential.

What you should know is, you have the full control of your reaction to pain and suffering.

And if you�re wise, you�re able to realize the gift that suffering brings you.

You should not rely on your emotions

Your emotions can sometimes be influenced by the external forces around you.

If you�re an empath, you�re prone to picking up emotions that aren�t yours.

If you�re unaware of this, you may think that something is wrong with you when in fact

those emotions belong to someone else.

Besides, on your journey to spirituality, deep sadness may bother you.

But this doesn�t mean you�re on the wrong path.

Your emotions are just pointing you to something that needs healing within.

7.

Good and bad are both effective motivators that help you to keep going

Don�t think that you only need the good to survive in your chosen path.

You need both the good and the bad, the light and the dark.

The good will inspire you and the bad will provide you lessons that push you to stay

strong, do more and be more.

8.

Effective beliefs are not fixed

Believing in something can give you directions and structure in life.

But as your growth is laid down before you on an installment basis, so must your beliefs

be.

Effective beliefs are the ones that aren�t limited or fixed because you�re an evolving

being who should hold a belief system that is expandable as you are.

9.

Your life path is yours to take

The path you�re intended to follow is designed solely for you.

It�s based on your experiences, choices, influences, and your unique signature.

No one can live it for you.

It may be a struggle when nobody seems to understand you.

But take note that you couldn�t understand them fully either.

It�s only when you accept that each person is unique can you truly understand why others

fail to understand you.

This must come with a choice, a decision, an agreement with yourself.

You are the author of your life and only you can control it
