Ten years ago, LaLiga suddenly hotted-up, thanks to a major slip up from the leaders
at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterraneos.
A goal from the ex-Real Madrid player Alvaro Negredo was enough to see off Schuster's side who ended their
run of ten unbeaten games at Almeria.
Having already drawn with Valladolid and Murcia it completed a full set of poor results against recently
promoted teams.
A worrying habit for Los Blancos, who the season before had lost to two other newcomers in LaLiga,
Recreativo and Levante.
Barcelona took full advantage of their rival's defeat and narrowed the gap at the top.
In a puddle strewn Camp Nou a great goal from Xavi, saw off Osasuna. It was also the day in which
Ronaldinho returned to the side to make his 200th appearance in a Barça shirt.
The Pichichi, Luis Fabiano, was on target yet again.
Two cracking strikes in the Nuevo Colombino, both, consolidated his lead in the goal-scoring table,
and gave Sevilla a derby win against Recreativo.
The side from Huelva were now stuck in the relegation zone, a sorry predicament that led to the dismissal of
Victor Muñoz.
To add to their woes, Ersen Martin had the worst debut possible. He came on for the injured Sinama-Pongolle
but was sent off after just ten minutes on the pitch.
Javier Irureta had a happier debut in his first home game in charge of Real Zaragoza.
The trio of Ricardo Oliveira, Diego Milito and Sergio Garcia ran rings round Athletic Club.
It was, however, to be the new coach's one and only victory with the Aragonese team.
Ten years ago, two Barça youth team players, Luis Garcia and Jofre, got a goal each in the one all draw
at the Vicente Calderon between Atletico Madrid and Real Murcia.
The oddest goal of the matchday came from the boot of Mustapha Riga.
The Ghanaian put a loose ball in the net after a corner from Laurent Courtois. The Frenchman fell over as he
took the kick, but still managed to provide an assist.

Talking About... Jose Luis Morales, Levante UD player - Duration: 4:21.
"Hi, I'm Jose Morales, and this is what my teammates think of me"
"Morales has got a great sense of humour."
"He's down-to-earth, funny."
"He's a happy fellow, a bit of a joker."
"Always joking"
"He's always having a laugh and joking about"
"He's a happy fellow, a bit of a joker and a great teammate.
They're the three things that best characterise 'Moro'"
"I'm a nice guy, I'm entertaining…"
"More than anything he's dedicated and a hard worker."
"I think that 'El Comandante', as we call him."
"Jose is an iconic player for Levante."
"More than anything he's dedicated and a hard worker. In short, he's a great club player."
"Is an ideal attacking player."
"Right now, as far as Levante are concerned, he's one of the best players in the team."
"He's a figurehead, all the Levante fans identify with him.
And for a club like this that's something very important."
"I'm very fast"
"More than anything his burst of speed."
"His speed when it comes to the counter-attack and his finishing skills"
"I get out my 'spoiler', put my head down and run as fast as I can"
"He's the leader of the team, the key player in attack."
"I go can go past players..."
"And then in the one-on-one he can go past players on one side or the other, he loves that trick."
"Out of all the midfield and attacking players he's the best in one-on-one situations …"
"And if he can end up with the ball on his right foot and have a crack at the far post, he's up for it"
"And that far post thing he just loves doing"
"Right now, he's our top goal scorer, and shoulders most of the offensive burden. He's a very important player."
"An anecdote, well there are some…"
"I've got an anecdote from this year. More than an anecdote it's a little joke I played on Boateng.
He turned up at training one day in a very inappropriate outfit. It made him look like a lion tamer.
So, I got hold of it and hung it up on a door with some tape. That way everyone got to see it.
I then took a photo and uploaded it onto my social media sites. I put an emoticon of a lion
by its side along with a lion tamer's whip, and of course I tagged him."

The Interview: Sidnei da Silva, RC Deportivo player - Duration: 6:49.
"I'm having a great time in A Coruña."
It's a brilliant city."
"I love the way of life."
"I'm very happy to be here"
"For the club, for me personally and for everyone, when big teams show interest,
I think it's a good thing, it's a sign of the great work that's going on here,
both on my part and that of the club. I think it means a lot"
"There are always possibilities but Deportivo have put a lot of effort into
holding on to me and I've shown the same commitment. I'm very happy here.
I've always made that clear. I hope to be here for a long time more. That's my heartfelt wish.
"I'm fine, I think I made the right decision. I'm very happy here.
I just want to keep on working hard and help Deportivo progress as a team"
"The 'Depor' fans are incredible. They've shown their loyalty to us so many times, the whole world knows about it.
Although we haven't got the results they've deserved or we've deserved, they're still there, match after match.
Every weekend they turn up, helping and supporting us, and we're really grateful to them for that.
That's why we've got to give our very best and improve with every day.
So that we can give something back to them for the dedication they've shown"
"Making it into LaLiga was a great thrill for me. It's so great to play in an important championship like this.
I'm really glad I went to Espanyol, they're the team that gave me the chance to start my career in LaLiga"
"I really enjoyed that year at Espanyol. We had Hector Moreno and Diego Colotto at the club.
They both had a lot of experience in LaLiga. Playing games and sharing the
dressing room with them was very important for me, I learnt a lot"
"I didn't have to think too hard about coming to Deportivo. I had teammates at Espanyol like Colotto and Pizzi,
who talked highly of the club. Fortunately, I got the opportunity to come and I'm still here, still happy"
"That game at Camp Nou was really special. We were going to a tough ground, it's always great
going to stadiums like that, but we were playing for our lives. And playing for your life against Barça at Camp Nou is not easy.
But despite the pressure bearing down on us, it ended up being an unforgettable day. It's something that the
players and the fans will remember all their lives. Getting a point from that match was brilliant.
It was also Xavi's farewell game, so it was a great day for both teams."
"In a moment like that, when you're behind on the scoreboard against a team like Barça,
it seems like you've got a mountain to climb. To end the match the way we did was simply
incredible. It was just what we needed to make that day at the Camp Nou a total party"
"The truth is, the last two years have been tough. In both seasons we only avoided relegation in the penultimate game.
Of course, we didn't want to leave things so late, but the important thing is we have,
in the end, managed to reach our objective"
"Cristobal is a very dedicated coach. I think he's doing a great job with us.
He was doing very well with the reserves and he's doing just as well with the first team.
He brings a lot to the team, every day he teaches us something. We're very happy with him"
"I think we're having a good season. We could have done better, but there have been a lot of games in
which we probably deserved more points, and admittedly a few games where the opposite is true. All in all,
I think we're on the right track, we've got to keep it up. We know there's a lot of room
for improvement and the second half of the season has to be better than the first"
"The dream of every footballer is to play for their country. Of course, it's one of my dreams,
but right now I'm totally focussed on doing a good job for Deportivo"

My Dream Team: Ruben Perez, CD Leganes - Duration: 2:25.
"Hi, I'm Ruben Perez, I play for Leganes and this is my Dream Team."
"I'd play a 4-3-3 formation because I like having three central midfielders and I enjoy keeping possession of the ball."
"In goal, Iker Casillas."
"Because he's been so important in recent years and he's the keeper who's won all the silverware for Spain."
"Daniel Alves would be right back."
"Because of his attacking abilities which have contributed so much to Barcelona's success over the years".
"I'd go for Marcelo as left back."
"He's great offensively and he really helps the team bring the ball out of defence".
"I'd pick Gerard Pique as centre back."
"Because he's so comfortable on the ball and adds so much to his team. I think he's one of the best defenders in the world."
"The other central defender would be Sergio Ramos."
"He's multi-talented, a complete player. For me he's the best centre back in the world."
"I'd put, Sergio Busquets in central midfield."
"He's the best player in the world in that position, he's tactically alert and his distribution is superb."
"Beside him, I'd have Xavi Hernandez."
"Through his performances over the years he's shown he's the best in that position and has a deadly final pass."
"Iniesta."
"For his incisiveness and his ability to hold on to the ball. He'd be an essential part of anybody's team."
"On the right of the attack, Messi."
"He'd have, as he's shown over the years, a great understanding with Dani Alves,
and he's also, of course, the best player in the world."
"On the left, Neymar."
"He's the most direct, dynamic player that's ever played in LaLiga.
When Messi stops playing he'll become the best player in the world."
"I'd have Luis Suarez as centre forward."
"He's the most accomplished striker playing in the Spanish league. Every team would like to have a player like him."
"Well, that's my Dream Team, a team made up of all my favourite players.
I'd really like to have seen them all playing together and winning LaLiga."
