Extraterrestrials And The Founding Fathers of America

by Cristina Valenzuela

How are they connected? In many, many more ways than I could have ever imagined.

Just prior to the Revolutionary War, a club of industrialists, natural philosophers, and

intellectuals would meet once a month during the full moon. They called themselves the

Lunar Society. Upon meeting, they would discuss new scientific ideas, life on other

planets and how they could create a United States that would be different from other

countries. Members included Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson.

Ben and Tom Pondering Life On July 4th 1776, the colonies formally severed

their ties to England. The men behind this movement were the founding fathers. In the

words of the Declaration of Independence, they had risked their lives, their fortunes

and their sacred honor, on an Ideal. These men now looked to create not only a new nation,

but a new world. Unlike the monarchies of Europe and Asia, the new American government

would be based on the ancient philosophies of Greece and Rome. During these times, horse-drawn

travel was slow. This provided for ample reading time, which was spent on many Ancient Greek

classics. Subsequently, how did they go about founding the United States? They did so using

principles of the ancient world. Having a bunch of men, geniuses in their own right,

at all levels, gathered at one point in time, trying to come up with a new experiment for

humanity. The ancient Romans used the term Fortunameaning when the gods conspire on your

behalf.

After the war, on July 16th 1790, plans were announced for a national capital. This would

be built along the banks of the Potomac River. Named after George Washington, the new nations

first President, it would be designed to resemble classic Greco-Roman architecture.

But why?

What was the reason behind the founding fathers near obsession with the ancient world?

In the 4th and 5th century B.C, there was a very active debate in regards to Extraterrestrial

life and the plurality of worlds. (The definition of plurality is fact of being numerous.) For

our founding fathers, this idea was well known as one of the corner stones of ancient philosophy.

The popularity of this idea grew tremendously in the 18th century, also known as the Age

of Enlightenment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Enlightenment The Enlightenment was basically a social movement

aiming to look at the universe in a more rational way. At the end of this period, the idea of

life on other worlds was very widespread. It is said this idea shows up in at least

50% of writings by scientists, political theorists, philosophers and literary people of the time.

One of the most prominent astronomers of all time, William Herschel, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Herschel

was no different. In his mind, life existed on other planets. This is the same guy who

discovered Uranus, as well as a few moons of Jupiter and Saturn. He also built hundreds

of telescopes, including the largest of its day. This was a 40-foot long reflecting telescope,

an enormous instrument anywhere in the world at the time. He was a human that now had the

ability to see the amazing wonders that lie in the universe overhead. In todays world

we can visit N.A.S.As website and view amazing images provided by Hubble telescope,

but imagine seeing such mind-blowing sights 100+ years ago. Herschel was instrumental

in furthering the debate of Extraterrestrial life, but perhaps most influential of all

was Benjamin Franklin.

Herschels Telescope

Benjamin Franklin, known to some as the First American, was an author, a printer, a scientist,

an inventor, a politician and a statesman. For Benjamin Franklin, a profound thinker

and an intellectual, belief in Extraterrestrial life was part of a scientific view of the

world. Seeking a way to share his views, he wrote his own book called Poor Richards Almanac.

He suggests in this writing that other planets are indeed habitable and other beings are

present there. Interestingly, he presents this information almost as if it were a fact.

There was no question IF life existed elsewhere. In his mind, life DID exist elsewhere.

In 1728, he wrote For I believe that Man is not the most perfect Being but One, rather

that as there are many Degrees of Beings his Inferiors, so there are many Degrees of Beings

superior to him. Think about that.

The ancient philosophers were not the only influence on the founding fathers idea of

extraterrestrial life.

The Native Americans they encountered, not only shared the belief that life exists throughout

the universe, but even believed they were the descendants of extraterrestrials. Benjamin

Franklin found himself deeply interested in the star legends of the Native Americans,

as well as legends of the Iroquois confederacy. From 1730 to 1760, Franklin published his

Indian Treatys, in which he frequently described explanations of Native culture.

One of his best-selling Pamphlets chronicled the Iroquois creation story of the Sky Woman.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atahensic This story describes how before the Earth became

what it is today; there were beings similar to us living in the sky. One day, the young

Sky Woman becomes pregnant, and later descends to the world below, giving birth to the human

race.

Freemasonry:

Sky woomen Fredericksburg, VA. 1752. 20-year old George

Washington is initiated into a secret society, the Freemasons. Among his fellow members are

many other founding fathers, like Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock and Paul Revere.

What is freemasonry? What roll did it play in the founding of the United States? What

meanings lie behind their many mysterious symbols? What we know for a fact is during

the Age of the Renaissance, people started to study ancient civilizations and see if

there was any knowledge in the civilizations that had been lost. According to experts,

the Freemasons believe in the idea of acquiring knowledge largely through scientific as well

as spiritual means. In the age of enlightenment, this included examining the possibility of

extraterrestrial life.

Freemasonry was the main vehicle that brought the ideas and principles of the Enlightenment

into the new world. You had the most prominent citizens become Freemasons and then associate

with one another. They would be discussing the major issues of the day, and certainly

the speculations of the plurality of worlds. Could the growing belief in the possibility

of extraterrestrial life have influenced the founding fathers vision of America? In terms

of the declaration of independences 56 signers, 9 were Freemasons. Of the Constitutions

39 signers, 13 were Freemasonsa clear one third .

But does this influence of freemasonry explain why the masonic values are woven into the

principles of Americans most important documents? Could this also explain how and why masonic

symbols can be found on much of the nations monuments and architecture?

In the design of Washington, the language of symbols is very important and thats

where we find connections with Freemasonry. The original universal symbol of Freemasonry

is the Square and Compass. The Compass is the main tool of the individual. You are at

the point.

The idea is the individual is Sovereign, having supreme rank or power. You draw a circle around

you using the compass. If you go beyond the perimeters, thats when you start going

into knowledge and light. The square is a symbol of knowledge and wisdom. The Letter

G stands for the Grand Architect of the universe. People have to wonder whether

Benjamin Franklins belief of the existence of other worlds somehow made it into masonic

symbolism.

Square and Compass The same people who were involved in the development

of Freemasonry were very interested in Egypt, being inspired by the idea of ancient wisdom.

Other masonic symbols found in Washington DC are eerily similar to the icons of ancient

Egypt icons, including the Sphinx, the Obelisk, the Pyramid and the All-Seeing Eye. If you

pull out a dollar bill and turn it on its back, you see a great pyramid with a gleaming

All-Seeing Eye at the top. Was this a reference to how the ancient civilizations were divine

in nature, and how the founding fathers wanted to recreate that here in the United States?

There is a belief that this gathering of great minds did not just happen, that it was in

fact necessary to help the human condition make a major leap.

Why did this group of 18th century men, who set out to build a nation out of principles

of logic and reason, attach such an importance to pre-Christian symbols and mysticism? Who

and what did they believe was watching over them? God or something else?

According to Ancient Astronaut theorists, the answer can be found in an 1866 lithograph

of George Washington as a Freemason, which resides in the Library of Congress. Over his

right shoulder is a picture of Jacobs Ladder ascending to heaven with what seems to be

some sort of spaceship in the sky. In the biblical story from Genesis 28, Jacob witnesses

angels ascending and descending from heaven. But in this painting, the ladder does not

come from Heaven. Rather, it comes from a dark round object emitting multi-colored lights.

Although Jacobs Ladder is a popular symbol of freemasonry, is it possible this image

is depicting something else? Something of extraterrestrial origin?

According to the Ancient Astronaut ideas, Jacobs Ladder was nothing more than a ladder

in which to reach the realm of the gods. The belief is that these gods were in fact extraterrestrials.

Jacobs Ladder

Pleiades Constellation What do all these symbols reveal about the

true origins of the United States of America? Ancient Astronaut theorists dont only point

to the presence of masonic symbols and pre-Christian influences as evidence of the founding fathers

extraterrestrial connections, they also find proof in the fact that even the very layout

of Washington DC points to the stars.

According to scholars, the nations capital has been steeped in ancient symbolism since

its inception. Ancient astronaut theorists point to the citys tallest structure, the

Washington monument, as proof that the American capital was built with a deliberate eye to

the stars. Although construction began in 1858, over 50 years after George Washingtons

death, the Freemasons built the Egyptian style monument so the constellation Pleiades would

be visible directly over the giant obelisk. Pleiades is a group of 7 bright stars, which

ancient Egyptians used to figure out all sorts of judgments to be made in many different

things. In the ancient world, in places of great power and great influence, they built

monuments aligned with the Pleiades. The Washington Monument is aligned with Pleiades. Coincidence?

In a city largely built to evoke ancient cities like Athens and Rome, is the dominant architectural

structure based on an icon of ancient Egypt? It is the largest obelisk in the world, standing

550 tall. It draws the eye, and it draws it upward. The ever reflecting pool, why? To

reflect the Obelisk. Washingtons Monument points to the heavens. With the reflecting

pool, it points below. There is a direct correlation between what happens here below, and up

there.

The Washington Monument Its not just the placement of the Washington

monument and the capital building that point to the stars, but the layout of the entire

city which hearkens back to ancient cities like Egypt, Greece and Rome. Washington DC

Is laid out in perfectly straight lines radiating from different little hubs around the city,

converging at different places like the capital building and the white house. It is a revelation

of clarity that highlights the cornerstone of American democracy. Its virtually a

1010 square-mile diamond matrix, in which the founding fathers believed they could pour

all their enlightenment teachings into, which turned out to be focused very much in symbolism.

President Washington chose another Freemason, Pierre Charles LEnfant to create a layout

of the city within this 10 mile diamond. A scientific, rational way was used in developing

the city of Washington. Using geometric shapes, they emphasized that this new form of government

was not going to rely on religion; rather it is going to rely on reason and scientific

discovery. There is no other capital city designed like this. There is no question the

main triangle at the heart of the city was a key feature, connecting it to the white

house and then the Washington monument.

Hubs & Geometric Layout

Some historians believe the triangle found in the middle of Washington DC represent the

square and compass, symbolizing the founding fathers search for enlightenment from above.Ancient

astronaut theorists claim beyond this triangle, lies an even more significant shape, that

of a Pentagram. George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were both expert surveyors and mapmakers,

and were hands on in the design of the Washington capital. Some speculate Washington and Jefferson,

who was an architect who even built Monticello, built this star in case of an extraterrestrial

visitation, in hopes the star would be recognized and symbolize our respect for extraterrestrial

life.

Did the design and placement of the Washington Monument, Capitol Hill and the National Mall

really reflect the founding fathers belief in extraterrestrial forces? Perhaps the answer

can be found with by a close examination of the capital building itself and the strange

connections to other worlds that can be found inside.

Jenkins Hill, Washington D.C 1791- Pierre LEnfant declares this a pedestal waiting

for a monument. For the next 2 years he works close with Washington and Jefferson

to design the building that would sit atop this hill and house the United States Congress.

On Sept 18 1793, the day of the Autumn Equinox Washington lays the cornerstone for the capital

building and Jenkins Hill official becomes Capitol Hill, the heart of a new democracy. The

concept of the ancient and sacred hill was deeply in the minds of the founding fathers,

with even Monticello being built on a mound.

But was the design and placement of the capital building really influenced by alien beings?

Ancient astronaut beings point to evidence in the form statute that still sits atop the

Capitol Dome, the Freedom Statue. It was placed there after the dome was completed in 1866.

Its a 19ft tall statue of a Goddess who is actually morphing into an Eagle. In Ancient

Alien theory, alien gods were portrayed as Eagle headed. Is freedom being referenced

here as a star being?

Underground inside, directly in line with the Freedom Statue, is an empty tomb that

had been designed to hold the remains of George Washington. One floor above it is the Crypt,

than the Capitol Rotunda. Soaring 180 feet above this is a painting of George Washington

looking very much like an ancient god. It is called the Apotheosis of Washington. Its

an enormous painting that depicts Washington in a very interesting setting. It was completed

by Constantino Brumidi in 1865. The word Apotheosis is a Greek word, meaning to to raise from

a man to a god-man. He is depicted as you would see a god. He is sitting in clouds with

what looks like angels surrounding him as well as a rainbow under his feet.

There is another depiction of Washington that specifically depicts him as a Divine figure.

Congress authorized an incredible statue by Greenough, in which he is depicted as Zeus.

The statue has several key features which identify him as a man of peace and a conductor

of heaven and Earth. His sword is offered to the viewer of the statue, indicating he

is here in peace. On the side of the statue, there is a very important representation of

the god Apollo riding his sun chariot, or star chariot. Was Washington some sort of

cosmic being riding through the heavens in his own star chariot? It is depicted so.

Weve gone from Benjamin Franklins electricity experiments to space travel in less than 250

years. This has brought about vast changes in American society. What hasnt changed

is the desire to know more about space. The desire to find out, is there life outside

of our planet? Not only is the founding fathers belief in the plurality of worlds alive today,

it is also being pursued scientifically, in a way they had no capability to do. This is

a concept that has been considered ever since the first person looked up at the night sky

and wondered, whats out there?

I feel blessed to live during such a time. Smile. Be happy. Life is good.

Qatar GP preview by Johann Zarco - 2018 MotoGP - Michelin Motorsport - Duration: 2:01.

In 2017, when I led for the first 6 laps in Qatar,

I was naturally pleased and surprised, too.

With hindsight,

despite my fall, I realise how amazing it was to have experienced that on my debut.

Round 1 of the MotoGP World Championship takes us to Qatar,

in the middle of the desert, and at night, so we don't suffer from the daytime heat.

Year on year, the crowd at Losail is getting bigger,

which makes it a great show.

It's a really nice track.

However, because of the sand and occasional sand storm, grip isn't always great.

Losail is fast and long,

with more turns to the right than to the left.

Plus several spots where we brake really hard.

We get some heat into the tyres.

You need dual-compound tyres so that you can push just as hard through the right- and left-hand turns.

There are some fast corners,

and it's here that you can make up or lose the most time.

Your speed through the three fast turns that follow on from each other

is one of the keys to a quick lap in Qatar.

Apart from that, the aim is to have fun.

Can I win a race in 2018 ?

I believe I can. I came close in 2017.

I thought it might happen towards the end of last season.

So I believe in my chances for 2018.

''God allowed me to fall for you'' | Serious Sundays - Duration: 8:59.

what did you say God allowed you to fall for me

oh

you know what else God allows in this world

he allows pain suffering misery

trouble

and you'll be getting all of these if you go any further

how many of

you have heard this sentence brothers and sisters

hey you know what God made this

happen so it must be that we have to be together

I think God is in this

because I feel really great about you don't you want to make God happy

now you

may not have heard these sentences and those exact words but it sure comes

across like that and it just blows my mind that a person can use God the

highest being in the universe as an excuse to make the other person feel

sort of guilty and like well if it's God then yeah there's no arguing with that

is there God does not go by feelings let's looking a match making passage from

God alright this is a really nice story between Isaac and Rebecca so

Isaac's father had a servant who was an old respected servant in that household

and his father asked the servant get me a girl for my son now obviously this

servant is a well trusted man notice he's doing it not for himself not for

his own pleasure but he's doing it for his master and in a very you know God

honoring way now this servant is wise enough to know that he cannot properly

make this choice by himself so he asked God for a sign and it wasn't just any

sign it was a very specific sign he says that I'm gonna go to this well and you

know that there were girls who came and drew their water

I will ask one particular

girl and if that girl says yes sir I will give you water not only for you but

for your camels as well then that's gonna be the woman that you have chosen

it's a good sign if you ask me it shows the woman's integrity and personality

and that she's a good woman and God honors that request both from the

servant and the master who was praying for all of this and it works out well

she goes with him she marries the son and everyone's happy and they both love

each other a lot now this servant is not just randomly asking God one day

God help

me get this girl okay

obviously he has a relationship with God strong enough to

know when God is speaking to him and to know what to ask for

right it was not done with any selfish motive all right so I'm not saying that

a person can approach a girl or a boy and say you know God said this so let's

get together and let's be one I'm not saying that it's just the way you say it

if you're gonna tell me God allowed this to happen I mean what kind of sentence

is that now just because God allowed Judas to betray Jesus doesn't mean he's *not

rotting in hell okay and I don't want to join you in hell why am I so angry is it

because someone has said this to me no it's not because of that it's because

the name of God is being taken as some sort of compulsion to the other person like

oh God said this so you better listen not to me not to me I'm not saying I

don't I'm not attracted to you at all God asked me to ask you

that's what makes me angry you are using the name of God as some sort of catalyst

for me to do something that you want oh no no no no no no no no no let me put it

this way suppose I know two friends they are my best friends

they both love me a lot and I love them a lot but they meet and one of them

tells the other Vihan says that we should get together and she really wants

this to happen and will you do it for her sake and suppose I had never said

anything even if I had said something isn't that sort of insulting to the

other person like just because Vihan said you want me to marry you

not marry well

automatically I go into marriage

just because Vihan said you want me to get

with you I mean that's that's kind of flawed

right you're not saying that it's because you really want it you're just

bringing in someone else's name to kind of hide under that and say I'm

not saying anything it's just I'm just telling you what she said and if you

love her then you're gonna do it

no one's gonna get married because I said

so I'm just trying to tell you what this can mean even to God

right if someone were to tell me that God said I should be with them I

would need to know that they are so close to God they have such a strong

bond with God they talk to him every single day morning till night they know

when God speaks back to them that even if supposing they are going somewhere

really big some place that can really change their lives and it's the dream

opportunity they're on their way and even if God were to say to their heart no

son turn back this is not for you and they

were to obey that voice and turn back you know then I might consider remember that

you will have to keep up this 'God' thing even when your marriage or your

relationship goes really really bad and even when you hit rock bottom it's still

gonna have to be able to look to God and say God says this and he says we're

gonna get through this and we're not gonna be left alone you gotta use the

name of God in all situations if you're gonna use it I hope you can see where my

fear is coming from my fear is coming from the place that people are following

their feelings and saying oh this must be God

ugh feelings are so temporary

do you not know anything about

yourself if I were to trust my feelings I would be I would've had I don't know a hundred

and two boyfriends by now I do not I pray about people I like and I ask God to

help me know what to do and how to handle it you know I'm the type of

person I need concrete things from God if I need a very big decision to be made

based on God He'll have to be very very concrete with me He can't make me

feeling like I think God is saying this I think He means that no no no no no no

I know myself too well to depend on an 'I think' and something as

big as having a life partner or even a relationship it's a big deal something

as big as that please if you're gonna use the name of God be concrete about it

and then we'll see and don't lie

let me give you an encouraging example my

parents were interested in each other at one point of their friendship but they

weren't sure whether God was interested in them getting together you know so

they each asked God about each other my mom she needed concrete advice she got

that whatever evidence she wanted from God and then she had full peace to go

ahead with this relationship and my dad didn't though oh almost when they were

about to get married he said do you know I think I need to ask God about this and

mom was like now

you couldn't do that a little earlier

but thankfully it

turned out well and God did say yes and everyone said yes to everything so

that's a good example of God being for a relationship and the people being for

God and for each other and you know it's it's two-way its three-way with God and

everything is just great so there is hope don't get me wrong but be sure to

do it in the right way so brothers and sisters am I gonna discourage you from

asking a girl or boy out no I am NOT just be careful with the words you use

and don't try to manipulate people into falling for you that is the worst

turnoff I'm just telling it to you straight

on a final note I firmly believe God has I don't really know if he has a

particular someone for someone you know that it can't be any other way but if we

let him choose I believe God will give us the best person who will deal with

all our rubbish and come through standing strong and victorious I think

that we need to go to him and we need to develop strong relationships first with

Him before trying to develop strong relationships with humans after all this

being said on video for the whole world to see if I hear someone telling me this sentence I'm gonna throw this

I'm just kidding but if you know people who seem to be stuck in this mindset

share this video with them or share it with a friend who is being tormented by

such people this is Vihan Damaris on serious Sundays signing off and I'll

see you tomorrow on miraculous Mondays strive to be like Jesus

if you were like Jesus you wouldn't even think of asking a girl out but that's

why I say 'like' Jesus and not Him

Why I Love Neuroscience - Duration: 5:00.

For a long time,

ever since I was a little kid,

I wanted to be an astronaut.

I wanted to explore space,

and help expand the human frontier.

And I've always been interested in science.

And knew I wanted to be a scientist

since I was about 12 years old.

As a teenager, studying space

represented a chance to understand

our place and my place in the universe.

When I left for college at MIT,

planning to study aerospace engineering,

I was ready for liftoff.

But what happened next surprised me.

I discovered neuroscience.

As an undergraduate,

I took introductory courses in

psychology and neuroscience from

passionate professors who

loved what they taught.

And the facts and topics they discussed

were just so amazing.

Like how the patient H.M.

couldn't form new memories after

having his hippocampus removed to

treat his epilepsy.

Or how there are more synaptic connections

in your brain than there are

stars in the Milky Way galaxy.

And it seemed like every time I learned

something new about the brain,

I had ten more questions.

Questions that science couldn't answer yet.

See, that's what really drew me into neuroscience.

I discovered that studying neuroscience

is a chance to understand ourselves.

It presented these huge questions about

what it means to be human.

Are we really the only intelligent beings?

Will we ever be able to pinpoint the seat of

consciousness in the brain?

Can we figure out what exactly makes me...me?

Through my undergraduate courses,

I kept getting more and more interested

in the microscopic, unseen processes

that make up our brain.

Ultimately, my curiosity about

how our brain develops led me to

pursue a PhD in neuroscience,

and I'm now in my 5th year at UC San Diego.

And now, every day, I get to work on

those big questions.

For my thesis work, I'm studying

the roles of astrocytes.

Cells that make up about half of

all the glia in the brain, and provide

support and resources to neurons.

Even though I didn't plan on studying

astrocytes when I got to grad school,

I absolutely love my research.

Astrocytes are fascinating because

we know so little about them.

While scientists have spent decades

identifying different types of neurons

and their connections in the brain,

it's only been in the last 20 years that

glial cells have gotten much attention at all.

For example, we know that astrocytes

are important for helping neurons form

connections with one another.

When neurons are grown with

astrocytes in a dish,

they form five times as many synapses

as they do without astrocytes.

But we're still figuring out why

astrocytes are important for

forming those connections.

And in fact, that's the main focus

of my research!

I'm trying to figure out how the proteins

astrocytes spit out influence the ways that

neurons grow and connect with one another.

And how changes in those proteins

caused by genetic mutations can lead to

problems with growth and communication.

Even though a lot of my work would seem

boring to many other people

because I spend so much time setting up

for experiments, counting cells, and

dealing with mice,

I love working on this question every day.

See, neuroscience is rewarding.

It's like I'm at the edge of the

vast expanse of human knowledge,

and I'm carefully chipping away at

this small question.

But that small question is connected to

a big one.

Because if I can figure out how

genetic mutations change how astrocytes function,

it might open the door to new therapies

for treating genetic neurodevelopmental disorders.

Someday the work that I do might help

people who are struggling with

serious medical conditions.

It really is a kind of exploration.

Not on the surface of another planet,

but of the human mind.

I am boldly going where no one has gone before.

And at the end of long days in the

tissue culture room or analyzing data,

sometimes there are moments of discovery.

I get excited because I found a

really interesting protein in my data set,

or discovered that my candidate testing worked.

These are moments when I am

literally the only person in the whole world

who knows a new thing about the brain.

And that's pretty amazing.

That's a huge part of why we started

this YouTube channel in the first place.

Because I wanted to have the chance to

share all of those amazing moments with you.

I can't share my own research yet,

but I love getting to talk about neuroscience

and helping other people understand their brains,

and therefore themselves,

just a little bit better.

Thanks for watching this episode of Neuro Transmissions.

If you liked it, hit that thumbs up button,

and subscribe to learn more about

your brain in the future.

Until our next transmission, I'm Alie Astrocyte.

Over and out.

Do some types of lunges

and in every lunge try to have your head as closest to your leg as you can.

(If it is possible☺)

Do a split and lean forward in it.

Go to your back and try to pull your leg as closest to your body as you can.

Then move your arm above your leg.

Then do a bow&arrow, when you sit.

Do a leg hold and if you can do it well, try to do a bow&arrow.

Wu Wei: Ancient Secrets to Spontaneous & Effortless Living | Tea Time Taoism - Duration: 7:50.

The secrets of spontaneity captivated ancient China, their greatest philosophers, Confucius,

Lao Tze, Zhuangzi, Mencius were all said to radiate effortless charisma, in a state of

being known as Wu-Wei.

Imagine what life would be like, Wouldn't it be awesome to glow like them?

but given you and I are mere mortals, not great philosophers, can we Wu-Wei too?

Well let's take a trip back to 4th century BC China to understand what Wu-Wei is really

about… crowd, chicken noises, sound scape

A crowd fills a public square.

A ceremony is taking place.

Centre stage is Butcher Ding.

He is set with the arduous task of dismembering a half tone ox - a procedure that demands

precise timing and perfectly smooth execution.

This, however, is no problem for Ding, "At every touch of his hand, every bending of

his shoulder, every step of his feet, every thrust of his knee—swish! swoosh!

He guides his blade along with absolute precision".

Just like that, the giant creature falls apart.

The Lord overseeing the ceremony is amazed!

"Ah!

How wonderful!

Can skill really reach such heights?"

Butcher Ding bows to the lord and replies: "What I, your humble servant, care about

is the Way [Dao, ], which goes beyond mere skill."

"When I first began cutting up oxen, all I could see was the ox itself.

But now—now I meet it with my spirit and don't look with my eyes.

My conscious awareness shuts down and my spirit takes me away.

And the job is done".

Butcher Ding continues, holding up his cleaver: "An ordinary butcher has to change his cleaver

once a month, because he hacks.

As for me, I have been using this particular cleaver for nineteen years now.

Between the joints of the ox there is space, and the edge of the blade has no thickness;

if you use that which has no thickness to pass through gaps where there is space, there's

no resistance.

That's why, after nineteen years, the edge of my blade is as sharp as ever."

"Fascinating!" the Lord exclaims.

"From the words of Butcher Ding I've learned how to live my life!"

Please excuse the bad acting, at least on my part.

But that story is from Zhuangzi, the second most famous Taoist after Lao Tze.

The story is not meant to be taken as a literally guide for how to be a good butcher.

Instead the last line suggests it should be taken as a metaphor.

We take it for granted that the blade should touch the tendon, the muscle, whatever.

But actually, Butcher Ding he finds his way his blade simply goes through the space.

the substance like the tendons and the bones are like the obstacles and difficulties in

our lives.

just like butcher ding who can avoid ligaments, bones and joints.

a wu-wei person can avoid the difficulties in life.

In Chinese Wu-Wei literally means non-action but we can see from Butcher Ding's story

that a better definition is spontaneous or effortless action.

In Wu-Wei you know the principles of human and natural affairs so well that you can just

chill out and let your subconscious, what Butcher Ding calls his spirit, effortlessly

sort things out.

Ok now we have an idea of what the Ancient sages were talking about, the question still

remains, can you or I become spontaneous masters?

Wu-Wei, in fact, is not just wishful thinking.

Our sages understood something intuitively that neuroscience has only recently been able

to explain: human intelligence is far more than just rational thought.

Neuroscientists have found we have two systems of thinking or cognition: hot and cold.

Hot cognition is fast, automatic, effortless and unconscious corresponding roughly to what

we think of as "the body".

Cold cognition, in contrast, is slow, deliberate, effortful, and conscious, the little voices

in our heads.

You already know how powerful hot cognition is.

Wu-Wei can reflect like riding a bicycle. at the very beginning you feel very tense,

you are afraid the bicycle might fall down.

but when you achieve the ability of riding the bicycle without thinking how to control

the bicycle goes very well.

This intelligence isn't only restricted to physical skills.

Take the case of Albert Einstein.

After ten long years of incessant thinking on the problem of general relativity, he decided

one evening to simply give up.

He had had enough.

It was beyond him.

He went to bed early, depressed.

Yet when he awoke the solution, that changed how we conceptualise the whole universe, suddenly

came to him.

Only by giving up, relaxing the tight grip of cold rationality, could his hot subconscious

cognition make the unconventional connections necessary for his insight.

What's more, too much cold cognition, e.g. over thinking, can be counterproductive.

actually there are many things many phenomena you should do in a natural way. for example

a plant.

you think, oh I"m not satisfied with the speed.

so you take too much action, you pull it up.

too much action it will die.

so leave it alone to grow in its own natural pace.

we actually have a natural beauty, this natural being is more intelligent than your personal

human thought.

so listen to that being.

Thus, the ancient masters were right and we've said it many times on this channel now.

we are so much greater than what the voice in our heads tells us.

we have this whole powerful, amazing subconscious intelligence that can, without supervision,

be highly effective.

and yet our society and philosophy is telling us that rationality rules and that we must

subdue the body.

we've seen from this video that we need at least the body and the mind.

So, we've already taken our first steps on our wu-wei journey.

From neuroscience we've learnt why wu-wei is possible, from Butcher Ding we've learnt

to seek the spaces in life and from Einstein we've learnt just to let go sometimes.

Now we just need to integrate how the world works into our nervous system and let go of

conscious control and we'll become fully wu-wei!… hmm but how do we do that?

And how on earth is using our consciousness to try to stop using our consciousness, going

to work?

You'll have to wait wait until next week to find out...

Thanks for watching

Lewandowski Scores 100th FC Bayern League goal – Tolisso Bruises Shin - Duration: 2:18.

Great atmosphere in training at Munich's Säbener Street the day after Bayern Munich's 6:0 win against Hamburg.

Despite the overwhelming lead at the top of the Bundesliga table

the team of Jupp Heynckes showed yet another concentrated performance

and proved in outstanding form once more.

The decisive weeks take place in April and we need to be ready for those.

That's why we cannot afford to approach the Bundesliga matches relaxed

and just play along a little bit. No!

We have to go to the limit all the time and be totally focused and concentrated in every game.

One frustrating blow Bayern Munich had to endure was the injury of midfielder Corentin Tolisso.

The young Frenchman suffered a severe bruising of his shin after a collision with an opponent

opponent and is already undergoing intense treatment.

However, it seems unlikely that Tolisso can make it into the Bayern squad for Wednesday's match against Besiktas Istanbul.

Every game is new.

The manager always says anything can happen in football.

Besiktas conceded a red card in the first leg and that can happen to us as well if we're not fully concentrated.

That's always the key: you have to be concentrated and approach the games seriously.

But I'm not worried we won't do that.

A very important contribution to the 6:0 hammering of Hamburg was Robert Lewandowski's hattrick.

The Polish superstar has now scored an incredible 100 Bundesliga goals for Bayern in only 120 league appearances.

Now Lewandowski and all the other Bayern players need to maintain their good form until the end of the season.

We have a game to play against Besiktas and can't focus on potential future opponents.

There's a lot of quality in the Champions League

and a lot of very good teams. If we make it to the quarterfinals it's obvious we'll be confronted

with a tough job.

However, I don't think anybody is going to be particularly happy if they draw us either.

We have to be ready and we're not afraid.
