- Hi Erin, I'm so happy that you're here.
- Hi, thanks for having me.
- Why don't you go ahead and let everybody
know who you are and what you do.
- Awesome definitely, so my name is Erin Shebish,
and I am a success mindset coach for online entrepreneurs.
I pretty much help entrepreneurs help get out of their
own way, so that they can have sustainable success.
- So I know you had some video experience
before you took YouTube Bootcamp.
What was your experience with video
before digging in to bootcamp?
- Oh, I could make the videos. (laughs)
There was my experience.
I really enjoyed creating the videos, and filming,
and the editing aspect, but once it was time
to put it online, that was, it was like,
okay I'll upload it somewhere, and that was it.
So that was my video experience.
- So what would you say would be your biggest
struggle when it came to video?
Because you were making video, so what was your struggle
that inched you over the edge to signing up for bootcamp?
- Getting the video seen.
I think it's such a bummer when you put
all of this heart and soul into creating a video,
and then only your mom sees it, because she's
the only one who's tuning in intentionally. (laughs)
So I knew I was doing something wrong.
Maybe not doing something wrong,
but I was missing an element in uploading.
It wasn't as simple as upload and they will come and watch.
So I knew I needed some help there,
which is why I was like, oh I need
this course from a YouTube strategist.
That makes sense, they're gonna be able to tell me
how I can get these videos seen.
- So what would you say was your biggest
aha moment throughout the course?
- Oh, that's a tough one.
The biggest one I think was learning that YouTube SEO
is not the same as Google SEO.
They're two different beasts, and I was under the impression
that because Google and YouTube, they're bestie bests,
that meant I could just use what I knew about Google SEO to
apply that to my YouTube channel, and that's not the case.
And once I found that out and I learned it,
now it's easy to implement, and my videos are being seen
without me having to pimp them out all the time. (laughs)
So, yeah there's my aha.
- Yeah actually you started a second channel.
So you signed up for bootcamp and you were using
all the knowledge on your Erin Shebish channel,
but now you started a new channel.
So what's been the result of using YouTube Bootcamp
on that channel from the beginning?
- Oh girl. (laughs)
Okay, so Erin Shebish was slow growing.
That channel was definitely slow growing
until I took YouTube Bootcamp.
I grew by 200 subscribers, within a month and a half,
once I started YouTube Bootcamp, which was amazing.
But it was definitely slow.
I mean I'd had that channel for a couple of years,
and it was just sitting there, like
oh you have a subscriber once a month.
But since starting the new channel, I've been able
to implement everything right from the get go.
And it took me less than a month to have over
100 subscribers, which was really great. (laughs)
Yeah, super awesome.
- And how often are you posting to that channel
now that you're seeing rapid growth there?
- Yeah, we're posting twice a week.
We're amping up to do three times,
because the YouTube magic number, right?
But right now we're doing twice a week.
It's not been super overwhelming or anything,
and we're still seeing really substantial growth from it.
So it's been really good.
- And how have you been able to incorporate
it into your business strategy?
Is it extra stuff or is it helping you create content?
- Oh it's our content.
It is the foundational point of our content,
because I do coaching, so people naturally want to
get to know who I am before they're like,
yeah let me book a discovery call
or book a call with you or whatever.
So they get to know me through videos
and same with my business partner.
They get that face time with us before they
ever make a commitment to schedule something.
So we made it the foundational piece of our content.
So we start with a video and then later on
that video gets repurposed into a blog post.
And that's how we generate traffic.
- So it's not really causing you
any extra work you would say?
- Oh not at all, it's actually so much easier
for me to do video than it is to do anything else.
I can sit down, knock out several videos in an afternoon.
Edit them, have them scheduled, and then the blog post,
because I'm not having to reinvent the wheel,
I just write up in 15 minutes, it takes no time at all.
- That's great, so what would you say to somebody
that was on the fence about YouTube Bootcamp
and whether or not they should take the leap?
- Oh, just do it, just do it.
It's one of those things that you're
like, do I really need this?
And I was definitely the same way in the beginning.
I already know how to do video,
do I need another video course?
Do I need more on my plate?
But it's so easy to go through.
It's not one of those courses where you jump into it
and you're like, oh this is so much.
And then the instructor isn't anywhere to ask questions.
So it's one of those courses that you can easily
take the lessons and immediately start implementing
into your strategy right away.
It's not something you have to get through
the whole thing before you're able to apply it.
And then if you do have questions,
it's so easy to get in touch.
That was one of the best parts of it,
was that if I had an issue, like I don't understand
how to do this particular thing, I knew that I had
a group of people who were taking it with me,
and then you're always available in that group,
and you have the group calls.
So it's just a no brainer.
It's a no brainer, especially with video being so heavy now.
It's such a big deal for business owners.
- Awesome, thank you, yes I've been loving
your new channel and the content.
And you just posted a video about YouTube the other day.
So I was like, yay!
- Yes, yeah, I'm all about it.
I want everyone on YouTube now. (laughs)
