BIG SPINNIN' ANNOUNCEMENT + Track Release Tips! - Duration: 5:59.

- What's up, it's Team MBL.

I'm Music By Lukas, producer and DJ.

- Hey I'm Lauren Z. Ray, DJ and video creator.

And today, we are excited to announce

for the first time ever

Music By Lukas

X

Lauren Z. Ray.

Not really, no.

- For the first time ever

Music By Lukas X Spinnin' Records remix contest

for my new future trance style track, Still in Love.

So go to spinninrecords.com/contest

or use the link at the top of the description.

Download the stems and start working on your remix.

- And once your remix is finished,

you can upload it to SoundCloud

and then submit it on the Spinnin' Records contest page.

And that's it.

- Now you can create any style of remix,

so be creative.

I'll be listening to everything you guys submit.

- Spinnin' Records and Team MBL are giving away

the ultimate producer package.

We're giving away FL studio, the Spinnin' Records

base plug in, and some Team MBL sound base.

- I can't wait to hear all of your submissions

and to choose the top three winners.

So get remixing.

- Alright so now that we've announced

the remix contest, which is legit

and we are super excited about it.

It's like, so cool.

Like Lukas was saying

he's always wanted to do one and sure, maybe I've,

sure, I've wanted to do one too.

(laughs)

Let's chat about some producer stuff.

So, first off.

Welcome to our second country, the U.K. you guys.

- Yeah, if you guys don't know.

We just came from Amsterdam, and we actually

are originally from L.A.

And we sold everything to come travel the world

and meet you guys in person.

- And continue our work with Team MBL.

- We're gonna be in a new country every single month.

- Yes.

- This is only our second one.

- Yeah, so make sure to comment below

what countries you wanna see us at

or what country you're from because

we need ideas.

So how's the release for Still in Love

been going so far, Lukas?

- It's actually super crazy because

I've never had so many supports.

Like the Track house supported,

by Martin Garrix, by Mike Williams.

- Just stop there, Martin Garrix, enough said.

- It's just kind of crazy seeing

the support for this style of track

because it's a unique track.

The future trance scene

- Yeah what's with the future trance thing?

- Yeah it's like my third track

doing this kind of style that's future house,

but it also has like a trancy kind of

melody to it and vocal.

- Okay so you just released obviously

a few weeks ago, Still in Love.

What are some release tips

that we can tell the people watching?

Like how you did it, or how they should for their,

the one, their upcoming track that they love so much.

What would be some tips for that?

- So this is what we discuss all the time

on the producers team that when it comes to a

release of a track, you can't just kind of like

let it release and let it just kind of fade away.

There's so much planning that goes into it.

You have to plan weeks before

and you have to continue,

you have to plan when the track comes out and after.

- Yeah so I guess like after

they got good feedback

or they felt that this was the track,

that's when they should start

planning for the release.

- Yeah, like with this track, with Still in Love,

we really believed in this track.

And so we started like a big release plan where

weeks before we were sending it out to the DJs,

we were pitching it to Spotify playlist,

we were getting it prepped.

And then the count down on the socials.

- Count down's crucial.

- Count down is crucial. - Get people hyped

because there are people at different levels

obviously watching this video.

People who have been signed by multi labels,

people who haven't yet.

But it's all about just creating

hype around the track.

If you've gotten great feedback on it

and you really feel like it's your strong track,

this is the one to show people

so that they believe in you.

They believe you're a great producer,

they like to hear this track.

Even if it doesn't get a lot of plays, at least

people will know that you're a good producer.

You know what I mean?

Hype it up, and don't be afraid to

hype it up after it's released as well.

Talk about it in your Insta stories or whatever.

- Even if it's not signed on a label,

you can still pitch your unsigned tracks

on Spotify, to the Spotify big playlist

like Mint and all these

you can still have a chance to get

on these playlists if your track does well

or if it sounds original

or if it's something that they like.

You never know what's gonna happen.

So don't be feeling bad if your track

that you're releasing isn't signed

on a big label yet, you know it's a process

everyone has to make it through and get the

different supports and kind of climb up

the same ladder to get where they need to be.

- And if anybody's already released a track,

is it now a dead track?

Or can you kind of do this in reverse?

If you've already released a track,

is it possible to like--

- Yeah if your track did really well when you

released it and you never did a remix contest,

I mean obviously if it's a few years old now,

I don't know if it's gonna have the same impact.

But let's say you released a track a few weeks ago,

that is like the time where you wanna do a

remix contest to kind of reinvigorate

the track again, get people excited about it.

Like Still in Love came out two, three weeks ago,

and depending on when you're watching this,

and now we're doing the remix contest

and getting everyone pumped about the track again.

It's just another way to get people excited.

- Alright so back to the remix contest.

What would you say are some tips and tricks

you can give the people watching who are gonna

possibly submit to it?

- Yeah so have fun with the remix.

Be creative, and also

don't be afraid to do something crazy.

Like if you wanna do like dubstep,

if you wanna do something wild.

But it doesn't mean that I'm only gonna be

listening for stuff that is creative and wild.

If you make something that just sounds really quality

and maybe is similar to the original,

I'm just open to anything essentially.

- What would you say to people who are

the ones that think if you're too creative on

like a remix that means it usually doesn't win?

Because obviously some people have submitted to

the Spinnin' Remixes before,

and maybe that is a concern of theirs.

- That it's too creative.

- Yeah, what would you say to that?

- Well I don't know.

I think it also really depends on the judges too.

I know for a fact that I'll be listening

for creative stuff, feel free to do it.

But again, if you don't wanna be creative too,

you can do whatever you want.

I'm open to anything.

- It's your first remix contest

so he's open for anything.

- I'm open for anything.

- Okay cool. - Bring it on.

- Alright so do not forget remix contest.

We'll put all the information in the

description below for Still In Love.

And I hope all these tips and tricks about

your releasing and if you want to do a remix contest

yourself were helpful.

That's what we're here for. - Yep.

- Like this video if you are excited

about the remix contest.

- Yeah and if you're from the U.K.

Get ready for some surprises. - Yeah.

- Because we are here and we wanna come see you.

(laughs)

- And that is it guys.

Make sure to subscribe if you're new here.

We're excited to have you by the way.

And we'll see you next week, right?

- Yep, see you soon.

COMPLETE YouTube Stories Tutorial - Duration: 16:29.

- I've had access to the YouTube Stories feature

for quite a while now.

It's gone through a lot of iterations,

and yesterday they rolled it out more broadly

to over 30,000 new channels.

You're seeing it a lot now on your newsfeed.

Today I want to give you a complete tutorial walk-through

of how it works and how you can

post to your stories, coming up.

(upbeat techno music)

Hey, guys!

My name's Tim Smoyer, welcome to Video Creators.

We are here to help you grow your YouTube audience

so you can spread a message that reaches people,

changes their lives.

And a new tool for doing that is YouTube Stories.

Now, you've gotta be familiar with stories.

It's all over Facebook, Instagram, originated

probably with SnapChat, and now YouTube's got their version.

And I've been using it for a while.

I really like it because it's a quick, easy way

for me to interact and engage with you guys

through just quick little video clips that I can make

without any editing, behind the scenes,

when I'm traveling, when I'm at YouTube Space,

when I'm doing trainings, whatever,

it's an easy way for me to just keep in touch with you guys

and show you what's going on

without having to produce a full video.

So, lemme walk you guys through exactly how to use Stories,

including some of the features you might not know are there,

as well as comments and moderation and how to find them

and reply to them and a whole bunch of stuff.

We're gonna kinda make this a complete tutorial, okay?

So, there's a few places where Stories can show up

for people who are watching them.

One of them is right here on the homepage.

You can see right here, I'm on the homepage,

and so there's none showing up for me

right here in the homepage.

I've already looked and tried refreshing,

but they can be right here in the homepage.

They can also be, if you go up here to the top right,

click on my channel, and then you'll see

if you scroll over, you have your Stories tab right here

and you can see your Stories here.

Now, they used to let you make groups of them,

I don't think that's a feature anymore,

so I still have some groups here.

But, in the upper left, you can see I have eight items,

eight video clips, and that number you see there

is the total number of views for all clips in that story.

So, this top one here, Video Creators, has eight items in it

for a total of 880 views so far,

since I just started posting them today.

And then, the other place that they will show up

is on your subscriptions tab here at the very top.

You can see that red circle around me,

I have some unwatched ones on my own channel,

and Lele Pons also has some that I could watch.

There's one more place it could show up,

and that is on the watch page of a video.

So, let's say, you're watching one of my videos,

I don't know if it'll actually do it here, I doubt it.

But let's just say, you're watching one of my videos

and it could be down here as well.

So, it's not right now, which is not surprising.

But it could be there.

Those are the four places where

YouTube says that they could be.

'Kay?

So, when someone wants to watch one of your Stories,

they can just tap on your video,

well, let's do mine since copyright issues.

Alright, and so I can see so far,

in the bottom left, that I've had 20 views on it.

That's only private to the creator,

and I can check here and see that I have one comment so far

and I will get to those here in a second.

Actually, let's do it now since we're here.

So, you can click in the top right.

There's only one comment here,

lemme go back to a different one

that has a little bit more comments.

How's this one?

'Kay.

So, three comments, well, it says three, I'm not sure why,

but there's obviously more than three here.

So you can sort them by top comments,

and those are typically the ones

with the most thumbs ups and engagements

and people who are engaging a lot,

things like that, or newest first.

And then, what you can do, is you can go through

any of these and hit reply in story,

and then I can actually record my response here.

And we'll go through all this interface here in a second.

But I'll actually record my response in here

and then, after I'm done recording,

I can tap and zoom to reposition

and resize that person's question right there.

But let's come back and go through that later.

Now, one of the things a lot of people are asking is,

"Well, how do I find those comments?"

So, you can do it the way I did it,

which is by going directly to the video.

Another way you can do it is to go over

to your YouTube Creator Studio,

and if you tap on comments over there,

they will show up in here as well.

So, you can see, I have three comments,

nine minutes ago, 12 minutes ago,

and 14 minutes ago on my Story.

So see on the left side, it says Story,

whereas on the these other comments,

it'll show the title of the video that the comment was on.

So the only thing you can do here sums it up,

like it, dislike it, or heart it.

There's no way to actually reply to it in here

which I wish was a thing, I wish right here I could

just tap on this or reply in my Story right here

inside this app, or at least open up the YouTube app

and take me over to my Story or something, but it doesn't.

And so, I can check for notifications here,

but if I actually wanna reply, I have to go back

over here to my Story manually,

look for the comment in that clip,

and then reply to it there.

Now, let's go through the process

of actually making a new Story.

To create a Story.

From the upper top of my thing, you see,

there's a plus button right there?

You click that, tap on Story,

and now here there's a couple things I can do.

Let's start with the upper left corner,

these three little circles,

this is where you're gonna find different filters

and I have found that these apply with,

especially some of these do a great job if you...

Well, there's just different filters.

Different ways you can

adjust how strong it is,

and you're probably familiar with this on Instagram.

Tap it once to kinda go to it and then tap it again

to kinda bring up this other dial where you can adjust.

So, I'm gonna go with normal on that.

And then, tap the upper left corner again to get rid of it.

In the bottom left corner here,

this is where I can upload pictures

and other clips from my phone's gallery.

So, here's one of me feeding my daughter.

I could post that if I wanted to.

Discard, and then go back.

So, I could upload my own video clips and things from there.

This is another place, I think this is

dedicated for if you have an iPhone 10,

or one that has the profile of you

that kinda separates you from the background,

gives you that more depth of field look thing?

So, that's what this is doing.

This is just kinda different things with that.

So, you can see, my background's green now,

and I'm still red, so.

I'm not gonna do anything with that right now.

The middle is record, and we'll get to that in a second,

this one is, it make it bright for me,

if I'm doing this in the dark

and need some light on my face.

Turn that off, and then this

all the way right simply flips the camera,

that's me recording, and flips it back.

'Kay?

And then, to actually do your Story,

you either tap it for a picture, like that, and go back,

or, you hold it to actually shoot a video like this.

And then you let go when you're done.

Now you have a few more options.

At the top, you can trim it if you want,

and by sliding it, the front, changing the end either way.

You can add music to it, and this is YouTube's

royalty free stuff right here that they have.

If you wanna use music on your device, you can.

You can pick one of these, hit the plus sign next to it,

and then you hit the sliders where you can adjust

which audio is more dominant,

the original audio of me talking, or the music track,

that balance, you can repeat it, remove it, change it.

I'm gonna remove it for now.

And then you can add some stickers!

You can add your location, that'll geo tag your video.

All these are different ones that you can add.

You can also add in the bottom right here, see,

and now you have some emojis that'll pop up.

And you can use any of those selections as well.

Get rid of those.

This is where, lemme go back to hit that,

you go to the AA in the top.

This is where you can add text.

And so, I'm gonna add this YouTube right there.

You can change the color by tapping any of these,

you can change the size right here.

Another thing you can do is just click,

use your fingers on it, two fingers

to pinch and zoom and reposition it.

Tap it again to re-edit it.

And then, at the very very top,

you can hit from classic, to light, to heavy,

to marker, to brush, to typewriter, back to classic.

Right next to it is this A with a box around it,

lets you put a background behind it,

a dark background behind it, or no background.

So, you can kinda switch it up however you want.

And then, all the way to the left,

you can align left, right, or middle.

Just like that.

So, I'll just put that like that.

And then, the next thing,

we have this magic wand in the upper right corner.

We can tap on that, and this is where you're gonna get

the types of profiles that you're used to having

in any other color profiles that

you're used to doing in any of these other

types of Story apps like that.

'Kay?

So, and then I would hit this--

I'm not gonna actually post this one,

but, you gotta hit post, down in the

bottom right corner there,

and then it would upload and I'm gonna discard this for now.

And then you can see, if you go back here to your channel,

right here, and then go over to your Stories,

if you have some that are uploading

you can see them uploading and

see if they've actually posted or not.

Sometimes if you have a bad

internet connection it might time out,

and you can come back here and retry the upload

if you want, if it gets stuck, or it's not posting,

or your WiFi cuts out, or something in the middle,

you come back here and restart

the upload from this menu here.

A few other thoughts for you,

I'm gonna go in here, you can moderate your comments

by tapping these three little dots to remove it,

report it, or cancel it, if you'd like to do that.

There is unfortunately no way that

I know of to actually type back,

the only way I know to reply to a comment in your Stories

is to actually hit that reply in Story

and then do it that way, so, unfortunately,

there's no just typing.

Now, when I'm looking, I can see that 645 people,

the very bottom left of this,

have viewed this particular clip.

Then these are ones I did a little bit later,

45 minutes ago, you can see at the top.

So, 93, 68, but that number is private only to me.

That is not a public number that other people can see.

Now these clips will stay active on my channel

and be publicly accessible for seven days.

However, the comments stay available

for 30 days inside your Studios.

Even thought the clips are gone,

you can still see the comments

for up to 30 days later inside the YouTube Studio.

Going back to navigating through these Stories,

the way to do it is you can tap to skip to the next clip,

or you swipe with your thumb left

across the screen to go to the next one

or swipe it to the right to go back to the other one.

And so, here you can skip across if you like

Lane's got a bunch of them,

now one thing that I think is interesting here

is that it will also show Stories

from channels that you're not subscribed to

and there will be a subscribe button at the very bottom.

So, you can see here, I'm not subscribed to WheezyWaiter,

on this channel anyway, I am on other ones,

but he still showed up as a recommended Story for me

in my Story feed because I tend to watch his videos

even though I haven't subscribed to him from this channel.

So, you can see at the bottom there,

that there is a subscribe button for me

where I can go ahead and subscribe to his channel

straight here from his Story.

So, it's cool to know as a creator,

when you're doing these Stories,

that your Stories can still get surfaced to people

who are not subscribed if they've kind of engaged

with your channel on other levels outside of the Stories.

And then, you can see other people's comments here.

It won't show you a number, you have to actually tap on it

and see the other Stories there for yourself,

and there's no interacting with other people

other than liking or disliking their comments.

Another thing to keep in mind is that

if you wanna download your video clip, your Story,

you have to do that right before you publish it.

After you publish it, there's

no longer an option to do that.

So, lemme show you, if you tap on the little camera icon,

the plus at the top, and then I'm gonna go to Story,

and then in here, I can do,

"This is my clip for sample download!"

Let go, and now I can do whatever I want to,

but you see, in the bottom left,

there's that save button right there,

and that'll let me download my clip to my camera reel.

But after that, I can post it, but after I post it,

there's no way for me to get

to download these and get them back.

Which I don't really like that much.

I can tap and go into my Story here

but there is no download at all,

even on this one when I was at

YouTube Space four months ago, there's no download.

I can delete, but I cannot download or do anything else.

So, if you plan on making one Story

and uploading it to multiple different platforms,

you'd probably have to do it in a different platform

or do it here and download it,

but just remember to save it before you post.

A couple hot questions I know you guys are asking:

one, who's eligible for this?

And, right now, it's about 66,000 channels have access to it

and their goal is to roll it out to all eligible channels

that have 10,000 subscribers or more this year.

I'm hoping this year means 2018 but we will find out.

Also, there's no monetization strategy involved right now.

It could be coming in the future,

certainly Instagram monetizes their Stories.

I think I see one every third Story, I see an ad on there.

But, right now, there's no

monetization strategy that's built in.

Of course, if you have your own products,

or you wanna build it into your

brand deal agreements or something like that,

you could monetize it yourself that way,

but there's no AdSense built in.

Now, this is just a quick overview of Stories

and how to use the app and things.

I will have another video coming out soon

about tips, tricks, and strategies

for how to actually use this to further engage your audience

and really use this as a tool for growing your channel

and keeping your viewers coming back for more,

so, I think there's some interesting things

we can do with this on YouTube.

In the meantime, comment below with your tips and ideas

and how you're going to use this tool on your audience

and hopefully I'll be able to feature come of your comments

and ideas in that upcoming video.

So, I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys have,

while you're learning and experiencing with Stories

as more and more people are getting access to it.

Subscribe here, because we're all about helping you grow

your YouTube channel so you can reach people

and change their lives for

the message that you're spreading.

Thank you for letting me be a small part of that,

subscribe and I'll see you guys

on Monday for our livestream.

See you then, bye.

2018's Best Game Jams to Improve your Gamedev! - Duration: 11:13.

This week on Ask Gamedev we take a look at Game Jams, a game developers hackathon where

individuals of varying talents come together in the spirit of game development.

These jams range anywhere from 48 hours to a full month.

Participants are given a theme to follow as they work solo or as a team to create a fully

functional game.

Developers have the freedom to use their favorite game engines and can meet both in person and

online.

In this video we will be taking a look at several great Game Jams.

Lets get started.

We are Ask Gamedev AKA Gamejam & Earl, AKA the Ludum Dare-Devils, AKA Lilo & Itch and

these are 9 Game Jams to check out!

First, on our list, we visit Global Game Jam.

Founded in 2008 the first Global jam took place at 53 locations across the globe, with

1650 participants creating 370 unique games.

Participants are required to register and then visit their physical local jam site where

they watch a keynote presentation from top developers and then review the single global-wide

secret theme.

Global Game Jam is true to its name and holds the Jam at the same time in late January world-wide.

Due to different time zones and regions, Global Game Jam strictly requests participants to

keep the secret theme to themselves until the final timezone is on board.

Participants discuss ideas and form groups with their fellow local developers to begin

their 48-hour game development journey.

The Global Game Jam is held once per year, with the upcoming 2019 version scheduled from

January 25th to January 27th.

Hosts must have a location that is available to participants 24 hours a day, with a close

proximity to food and beverages.

Global Game Jam encourages comradery by downplaying competition and instead celebrating the gaining

of experience and knowledge of game development through teamwork.

Many titles developed during the Global Game Jam have become full-fledged games.

The second jam on our list is One Game A Month, which was founded in 2013 by McFunkyPants

AKA Christer Kaitila, One Game A Month is geared towards encouraging developers to keep

it simple and get it done!

We all know that starting a game is easy, finishing it is the hard part.

Those interested in game development can jump in at any point, work on, share and post any

of their games.

With an optional monthly theme, there are no rules to adhere to.

Participants can go solo or bring a team, complete a project they have been working

on for years, or start fresh.

The overall goal of this Jam is to finish and post one game per month.

To add motivation McFunkyPants has made game development into a game itself by adding experience

points and achievements for development progress.

For every game participants submit to the jam website, they get rewarded with a pat

on the back in the form of experience points and various achievements.

This system is in place to help keep developers motivated in finishing the games they've

started, continuing to develop skills and above all else, having fun.

Number three on our list is Ludum Dare [pronounced "Loo-dum Dah-reh"].

Founded in April 2002, Ludum Dare is an online community best known for its Game Jam event

which takes place every April, August, and December.

During this event, game jam participants have a single weekend to create a game from scratch.

The theme is suggested by the Ludum Dare community to which creators may or may not follow during

the development period.

Once the game is complete, participants may submit their finished product to the Ludum

Dare website and then proceed to judge the other games through a 1 to 5-star rating system

in 8 different categories.

Criteria includes Innovation, Fun, Theme, Graphics, Audio, Humor, Mood, and of course

the Overall feel of the submitted games.

Fourth on our list is Low Rez Jam which was originally created and hosted by Devi Ever,

and is now being run by Jack Oatley.

This jam gives participants 17 days to complete their submission.

Held once per year, this jam is hosted on itch.io where participants from all around

the world may join in.

What makes this jam unique is that there is no theme to follow, instead, there is a requirement

for the end product to have a restricted viewpoint of a mere 64x64 pixels.

If you think this sounds like an impossible objective, then visit Low Rez Jam on Itch

and take a look at their top rated games for inspiration!

There are well over 200 submissions each year, with Umbri by Cronus, and Legend Of Xenia

2 by Baku, being the highest rated games of 2016 and 2017 respectively.

Coming in at number five we have Game Off, created by Lee Reilly in 2012.

Game Off is sponsored by GitHub and is Another jam that is hosted on itch.io.

Inspiration for this jam came from Global Game Jam and its held during the entire month

of November.

This jam celebrates open source development by inviting participants to join in the fun

with collaborative game development along with the use and sharing of open source software.

Submissions are done through itch, after which participants may then vote on each games'

Gameplay, Graphics, Audio, Innovation,Theme, and overall rating to decide the year's winner.

At number six we have GM48, which is also popularly known as GameMaker 48.

Participants have - you guessed it - 48 hours to create a title using the Game Maker engine.

Organized by former game maker moderator Peter Jorgensen and sponsored by YoYo Games, GM48's

quarterly jams are community ran by its over 2 thousand participating developers.

A theme is voted on through two phases beginning two weeks prior to the jam start, and voters

determine the best game based on the categories of art, gameplay, immersion, innovation, sound,

stability, and theme interpretation.

Aside from using the GameMaker engine to create the entry and meeting the deadline, participants

must vote on a minimum of 10 games.

Moving on to number seven we have a game jam which began in 2014, offers a prize pool of

$15,000, and was founded by Degica Games - the publisher of the RPG Maker series, OneShot,

and several other games.

Held once per year, the Indie Game Making Contest is a month-long jam focusing on the completion

of a game created with RPG Maker.

Prize options include the organizer's Degica's choice, the People's Choice, and Youtuber's

choice.

Each of which awards $5,000 cash with the added bonus of a humble bundle gift.

Participants may submit up to two entries and Degica reserves publishing rights for

up to 3 years for games that win the prizes mentioned above.

Number eight is Epic MegaJam sponsored by EPIC game jam and the Unreal game engine. This

is a great option as participants automatically get a number of free benefits from a variety

of game development products including free software trials, and game assets.

On top of the participation benefits, all participants will be entered into numerous

raffles for prizes.

Finalists are then guaranteed a list of additional prizes.

It's fair to say that this game jam provides participants with some of the best incentives

to participate!

The goal of this game jam is work individually or with a team maximum of 5 peers to create

a game using the Unreal Engine.

The end title must have custom gameplay that exceeds the gameplay found in the Epic games

starter templates, and assets need unique material outside of the defaults.

2017 winners included Team Spectrum with ASSIMILATION, Beard Envy with Filament and AnnieNation with

Light Bearers.

Before we review our final game jam, let's take a look at some smaller game jams that

have implemented unique themes into their offering.

We'll start with GB Jam, also known as Game Boy Jam, which has a strong focus on the original

Nintendo gameboy theme.

Participants have 10 days to complete their titles while adhering to the original GameBoy

viewpoint size of 160x144 pixels and with only 4 colors allowed to be on screen at a

time.

There were 95 entries this year for the GBJam 6.

Next, A Game By It's Cover, is an annual game jam where participants develop titles

from their favourite fictional cartridge art from My Famicase Exhibition - an annual art

show of fan-made Famicom cartridge designs.

Participants develop their title over the duration of one month and this jam aims for

a relaxed environment that is void off competition, judging, and prizes.

Ever heard of a Train Jam?

2018's Train Jam was a collection of developers traveling to the Game Developers Conference

and creating games during the 52-hour train ride from Chicago to San Francisco.

Through founder Adriel Wallick's vision, the Train Jam's has grown from significantly

and now boasts 342 participants.

Seven Day First Person Shooter is a recently returned jam with the goal of making a first-person

game in seven days.

The idea behind this jam is to remove the stereotypes of FPS games being shooters and

instead expand to include alternative ideas.

One of the most notable games to be conceived at this jam is the indie hit Superhot.

We know you're all excited to hear about the final game jam in our top 9 list.

But before we reveal the finale we want to give a shoutout to Ask Gamedev community member

Khaalid, who shared their recent jam with us, ScoreSpace Jam.

ScoreSpace Jam is unique in that it involves both Game devs and gamers in the contest.

Once the winning submissions have been chosen, a second contest is started where gamers will

then play the winning titles and compete for high scores.

The final jam in our top 9 list is none other than the Game Maker's Toolkit Jam that is

organized by fellow gamedev youtuber Mark Brown.

This year's theme revolved around a big question that had participants' creativity

in hyperdrive.

How would you develop a game that has one of its most fundamental mechanics removed?

For example, what if you had a platform jumping game but couldn't jump?

Sounds interesting, doesn't it?

Participants thought so as well.

The Game Maker's Toolkit jam lasted 48 hours had over 1,000 entries, and proved to be very

popular.

The 2017 #1 ranked game was Glacier hop by shadowndacorner and this years 2018 #1 ranked

game was Grand Snail Prix, a local 1v1 racing game by castlemark.

The PIP Box | November - Duration: 6:26.

Hey my little artists! Today we're talking about the November PIP box! As always, it

came in this little bag right...bag? That is not a bag, that is a box. Anyways, and it

is all of course recyclable, because it's all made out of paper. This month I

actually really liked and I've tried out all the products for quite a while. I

don't know why I've had it sitting around for so long, but this way I can

definitely tell you exactly what I think of these products. So the first thing we

have, is what I didn't try. Ha ha. The first thing we have is the Aveda Damage Remedy

Intensive Restructuring Treatment and this is a hair treatment. I am very...I

don't do hair, you know? Even as a makeup artist sometime...sometimes I'm

expected to do hair. I don't like doing it. I don't like doing other people's

hair. I don't like doing my own hair, but anyways... so I don't, you know, I don't dye

my hair. I haven't for like 15 years and I'm... my hair is pretty healthy. What can I

say? It is thin, but I have quite a lot of it and it's very long and I guess I'm

gonna try this. Let me do the smell test. It smells really nice. It smells a little

citrusy. Oh I got some on my hand. Oh that smells so nice tough!

A little citrusy with a little hint of like maybe coconut. Oh, it all came out.

Yay! Okay, I'm just gonna wipe that on my pyjama pants, that I'm wearing, because

I'm gross and I never leave my house, except when I work. So the second

thing that is in here, is the Bloomtown Black Clay Face Mask and I have tried

this. This is really, really nice um that's it...what it looks like on the

inside. It's a very thick black paste. I feel like it really helps. It does dry

out your skin though, so if you have dry skin, maybe this is not great, but if you

have, like me, you have acne somewhere, you have breakouts, this is amazing. I tend to

just use this in my...where I get oily the most, because it has tea tree oil inside

and black clay which mattifies and also is anti-inflammatory. So I put it on my

nose and I put it on my chin and on the rest, I put a different mask that is

actually more moisturizing, because I have dry skin there, but I can really

recommend this if you have oily skin and if you tend to have breakouts. Next is the

Tisserand Tea tree and Aloe Skin Rescue stick and it just basically has a

wand like this. I've been breaking out like crazy, I don't know why, maybe it's

because all the makeup I do on myself for this channel, but I've been using this

religiously. This does dry out pimples quicker. It does actually really work

very well. It does dry out the skin around it too, so really try to

focus it on your pimple and not on the skin surrounding it, because it will dry

out that skin, but that's essentially what these things do to pimples, you know?

They dry them out, so of course they're gonna dry out the skin as well. The next

is the Cougar Shimmering Body Tonic,

which is in Singapore Sling. It's supposed to be the smell. I don't...I

haven't had alcohol in six-and-a-half years, I don't remember what a Singapore

Sling smells like. I lived in Singapore, fun fact, for two years. Anyways,

this is all over the place. I'm sorry guys, I'm very tired, I'm very stressed

and yeah...this is supposed to keep the skin soft and toned by using our Singapore

Sling inspired body tonic, made with lemon, pineapple and cherry.

Infused with shimmer, to give you a radiant complexion. I put this on my skin

here, but I don't think you can see that on camera. It gives a very, very sheer

beautiful glow. It's nothing with like a huge amount of glitter inside. It really

just gives you a very beautiful sheen and you're just supposed to massage this

into your skin and let it dry and then it's done. It does smell very refreshing

and I really like this as well. Then the last item is the

Manna kadr...Manna Kadar Priming Lip Wand. This hydrates and nourishes the

lips all day and adds color. This is what I'm wearing today. It is a beautiful

color. I'm really liking this. What color is this? This is in Amour, which means

love, that's nice. This is...I think this shade is just really, really nice,

warm and kind of has a lot of color, but still could be pulled off as like an

everyday kind of look. It is very hydrating. I do have to say, it does

accentuate, for some reason, dry patches a little bit. It is quite long lasting,

but it doesn't dry matte, so don't think this is gonna be like a thing, that you

don't touch up at all, but if you use it for what it is, like a hydrating kind of

colorful lip thing, then this is definitely for you. It doesn't, you know,

you're gonna have to eventually use a brush with it, because the tip is going

to definitely not exist anymore, but I have to use a lip brush anyways; and

that's already it! There was like a bonus: the protein ball and lemon and

pistachio protein balls, but apparently I ate that or I threw it away or I don't

know. Or I didn't get it, but I don't remember and that kind of

worries me. Really like this box. I'm so happy I discovered this box. If you don't

know, this is a cruelty free box and most of the things are vegan as well, so that

is amazing. I don't actually know if all the things are vegan and I don't

think so, but a lot of them are. Alright, I hope

that you liked this video and it was informative to you. If you're thinking

about getting this box, I can really recommend it. I use makeup a lot, but I

also like that there's a lot of skincare always and it, you know, if you don't have

a lot of problems with your skin, maybe this is not for you, because there... it's

very skincare heavy usually, but it's a great alternative to a beauty box that

is not cruelty free. If you liked this video, you can leave me a thumbs up and

you can subscribe, but you really don't have to. Don't feel pressured to do that.

If you want to, I make new videos every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

and I do really hope I'll see you next video! Bye-bye!

How To Have Colored Text In Twitch - Duration: 2:37.

Looking on how to have colored text and twitch's chat in this video right here

I'm gonna show you how let's go

hey it's me it's wild coming at you with another twitch quick tip video and if

this is your first time here you want to learn how to grow and improve your

stream make sure you hit that big red subscribe button and tick that bell so

you know when my videos go live for you if you've been on Twitch for a little

while now you've probably noticed a user or a few users type in a sentence and it's

a full color you're probably wondering how do I do that what's really easy all

you need to do is type in /me that's in (M,E) space and then type in whatever

sentence you want to submit to the twitch channel when you hit submit or

enter it'll convert that sentence and put it in one full color the color it picks

is whatever your user name is at that moment if your user names purple your

sentence will be purple if your user names blue your sentence will be blue

and so forth and so on now most people on Twitch they use their

color sentences for creating kind of like active or passive actions so people

like to put like kisses or hugs or slaps things like that they like to actually

put actions that are colored because they're things that would generally

happen at that wouldn't be spoken within the chat it kind of adds another little

dimension to the chat so have fun with it but if you want a cool little bro

note for me to you out there one cool thing that you can do with colored

sentences is actually have your bot timer and your bot command be colored

because the eyes attracted to color so when you have lurkers or new people or

people acting or asking active questions in the chat and people or your mods type

in the commands that make these pop those people are gonna notice those a

lot easier because they're actually colored out so go ahead and your timers

and just put /me in front of your timers and commands and you'll

see it makes it a lot easier for people to follow along or if they ask a

question like hey how do I join your game and they type an exclamation point

join it'll pop up very easily for them and that's just a cool little tip that I

want to pass for me see you if you guys like these type of quick twitch tip

videos hey make sure you let me know in the comments below

and if you want to keep up with me and my videos and everything that I'm doing
