Hey guys, this is Cathy Cat and right now we are at Haneda Airport in Tokyo
This is the Kansai Airport Bus
Today I'm visiting Wakayama Prefecture
It's only about 40 minutes by train or bus from Osaka and it's a place not to miss on your journey through Japan
On this tray line. There is a special train station for cat lovers
Why? Well, the train station master there is a cat, apparently.As Cathy Cat, I need to see that! Let's go!
Japan has a lot of traditions but also,
hierarchy the highest person of a company "SHACHO" and the master of a station is "Ekicho"
Today, I am gonna take the Kishi line on the Wakayama railway and find out about a very special,
super stationmaster
The Kishgawa Line is a special little train line in Wakayama
It takes you through the beautiful rural countryside of Japan
But what makes this line so special is the cute and detailed design of the train cars
There is a strawberry train, a cat train and even a plum train
Now guys,
I've seen this for the very first time - usually you buy your ticket before you actually enter the train, but in this case
if you come to a station
but maybe doesn't have a station officer you use this one here inside the train to get yourself a ticket because the trainers are also
to get yourself a ticket because the trains are also
just run by one person and that's the driver
We got a one day free pass so, I'm just going to use my cute passport to get on and off the train

so everyone can go and pet and touch them so they have a little bit of their own roaming area
and then other days they just roam freely

Station that is themed for the cats that are the stationmaster's

I hope both Tama will be happy
and I hope happiness comes to this station

On the way home, you can still enjoy trains.There are so many different designs
This one is the umeboshi the plum design and again inside. It looks so cute
The special design of the train is quite popular and you'll like to take pictures in here
So I'm gonna go and take some pictures too
Just be careful that you don't annoy all the passengers
We met someone who knows a lot

How was the cat trainmaster born?
The previous train company decided to close the line
but people who needed this line plead for continuation
And, we are a Okayama company which worked to create this Wakayama Dentetsu
and have continued since
There was Tama which was born and brought up in Kishi Station
It was a Calico Cat
The station house was to be torn down
but plea was made to have the cat live in the station house
and had made Tama the station master
So that is a very very special stationmaster
Now the thing is why is the cat actually in the box I asked and they said they had for example
Kids would like pull on the cat and make them feel very uncomfortable and stressy
So in order to protect the cats, they're on the glass case
But even in the last case, please don't take pictures with flash and don't knock on the glass
Same thing as the cats are out, which I sometimes are be sure not to cause stress to the poor kitties
So don't like touch them randomly or stuff like that
just like be nice and gentle with the cats to avoid stress is a message that
I'd like to pass on from the station staff right to you
So that was our journey to the very very special station master, and I hope you enjoyed this

3 Hip Flexibility Exercises for Runners - Duration: 5:27.
If you want to find out some great hip flexibility exercises for runners then
you're in the right place, as today we're going to talk through three different
ways that you can stretch the hip, and these three ways will targets just
slightly different areas of the joint.
I tend to find that hips can get quite stiff,
which isn't necessarily a bad thing but anybody that knows me
knows that I want to look at and regain full range of movement at the different
joints. This means that the muscles will work at their best, so if the joint is
stiff and not really moving as well then the muscles around it can't work as well as they could do,
so makes sense, particularly if you're wanting to
improve your running.
It does make sense just to go through the hip just to make
sure it's as flexible as possible. Sitting at desks, for example, or just
staying in one position for a long time, so even if you're standing all day it
can just get everything to be..
everything can get tighter.
It's Claire, I'm a physiotherapist from PhysioFit Health.
When you go through these exercises,
monitor what you're feeling in the body and just make sure
that you're feeling the stretch in the area that you're wanting to feel it in.
However, having said that if you feel a stretch in a different place it might
mean that you're just tighter in that place rather than the place that you're
trying to target
The first exercise will target the muscles at the front of your hip, so your
hip flexors.
Starting in high kneeling you're going to put your left foot in front
of you so you're in a bit of a semi lunge position. If you look at the right
foot here, you want to sweep that across the midline of the body so it's just
going to stretch that right hip out a touch more and then you're also going to
want to tuck your tailbone underneath, so you can feel a stretch at the front of
the hip. Once you've done all of that your additional thing you can do is to
bring the arm up and over and you are doing a side bend to the left, so it
should get you a really nice stretch down the side of the right side of the
body and into the front of that right hip.
The second stretch works on both hips so one will be stretched at the front and
one gets a little bit of rotation.
Starting in four-point kneeling, you want to get that right knee so it's very
close to you the right hand and then you're going to look at sweeping the foot
across the midline of the body, so now it's rotating at that right hip.
Going to look at straightening that left leg, so you can just stretch it down a touch,
that's going to stretch the front of that left hip. So now you've got a
stretch on the front of the left hip and you're rotating at the right hip.
Now, if you are comfortable in this position, you can further increase the stretch by
popping yourself down onto your elbows, so you can lean forwards and then you can
just prop yourself onto your elbows and have a relax just for 20 seconds or so.
And the third stretch works on rotation at the hip joint and for this you'll
need a band and something sturdy to tie it to.
Tie the band around something that
doesn't move. You do need to tie it to something fairly firm,
tie it in a loop. Now you're gonna put your foot through so this is me working
my right leg.
Start with the foot underneath the knee and then keep the knee as
still as possible and then you're gonna let the band just pull your foot away
from the side of your body and then you're gonna return it to the start.
This is what you can do, ten or twenty repetitions, using the band just to pull yourself in.
Please remember to listen to your bodies and don't push past any
aches and pains and niggles, particularly if they keep coming back at the same
time during the run or the same time during the day, just to get it checked
out and see if there's anything you can do to help.

and assisted by a Chinese group lead by Xiaoping Ren
They plan to take a head of a person with a diseased body, and place it on body of brain dead person
Can you imagine how much problems can this procedure solve
There will be no incurable diseases
When there is a problem, just change the body! No medications, No chemo, No long follow ups!
But..
Wait...
The success of this operation at the present time remains science fiction
It is also not ethical or scientific.. at least at the present time
Before you start thinking about how all great inventors were considered crazy and their ideas trashed by others
I would like to assure you that this is not the case here.
We live in an area where most believe in science and its advancement
Expecting this operation to fail is not an example of opposing advancement in science
To be able to explain the real problem at hand.. I need few minutes of your time
The first rule of medicine is "do no harm"
that is why advancement in medical science through research takes time
the main purpose is ensure the safety and efficacy of new medications and interventions before testing them on humans
It an issue is noted, researcher take a step back to try to avoid harm to patients
We all know the game "the snake and ladder"
where the objective is to reach the end of the board. ladders can help you skip parts of the journey and snakes can make you repeat parts.
Like wise is medical research. The difference is that in medical research, using ladders is prohibited!
You start with the idea, then have it tested on the bench.
Afterwards, it can be tested on animals in part and as a whole
After ensuring initial success, it can be tested on human volunteers before it can be provided to patients
The medication or intervention gets approved and start appearing on guidelines then finds its ways to medical textbooks
Using a ladder to skip parts of this journey is unethical and also not scientific
Because it exposes patients to medications or interventions that are not well tested and may cause unknown harm
THAT IS THE PROBLEM HERE!!
Canavero revealed his ideas without real research to stand by his thoughts
He went on to describe the procedure and even pick his patient
But without having the bare minimum bench and animal research to provide proof that this is actually possible!
it was like using a long ladder that takes him from the idea to the end!
The problem was evident and so he and his team tried to re mediate the problem by doing more research to fill in the gaps
They were able to publish (or demonstrate) some research work during the past couple of years that support their proposal to perform the first human head transplant
The head is arguable the most important part of the body. It has the brain stem which is largely responsible for consciousness and vital body functions
The death of an individual happens when the brain stem dies
So when the plan is to take a head of a body and connecting it to another. We have to be pretty sure we have studied all the important aspects. It is a big deal!
We need to be sure we can supply enough blood to the head
We need to be sure we connect the nervous system with return of function
We need to be sure we can stabilize the head on the new body and have an idea about expected mobility
We need to be sure we can connect the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts
What about the immune system, will it attack the head? what can be expected?
This is the least amount of information we need to gather before embarking on a human head transplant trial
Let's look at what they have demonstrated in the research work performed
They were able to demonstrate that the the blood supply can be maintained to an amputated head of a mouse through another mouse's body.
Although this is an important milestone. It is actually nothing new. similar research has been done before
This is a mere replication of previous experiments
An this head will eventually die off due to rejection as seen in previous experiments
However, we can consider this part covered. This can be done!
Lets now get to the difficult aspect
Connecting the nervous system
There is no study that demonstrated a successful connection of the nervous system between an amputated head and a receiving body in animal studies
(success: meaning recovering the ability to feel and control the body by the new transplanted head)
Although this photo is now popular. showing a monkey head transplant. The research team did not demonstrate spinal cord connection
Actually this monkey was euthanized not long after surgery
The absence of convincing research that the neuronal connection can be achieved is problematic
So other studies performed by the Chinese team demonstrated the ability to sever and re-attache the spinal cord in rats and dogs
with subsequent regain in motor function over time
This is actually great! and may hold promise.
But this "success" does not translate to the "success" of head transplant. It is quiet different.
