On the right, it will always say "Distant Vikendi is ready to play."

The only thing that changes is the picture, the music, the large characters in the center, and the characters on the bottom.

The first teaser, says "Wind Snow," which means Blizzard. And on the bottom, "Large Map Blizzard Mode"

Meanwhile the second teaser says Night. And again on the bottom, it says: "A New Weather System."

We discussed this on stream a while back,

but allthenewsisgoodnnews mentioned that night mode is already in, and will probably be activate server side.

There are already light sources all around the map, especially this one building where every light turned on. As for blizzard mode,

VR Can Actually Fix Your Brain (Virtual Reality) - Duration: 6:39.

When I first started doing research for this video it seemed like it would be a bit hard

to make and pull all of the information together correctly, but after a huge amount of reading

and a long time of putting it off I think this video is ready.

VR can be used to help patients with brain damage.

It seemed very plausible when the idea popped into my head but based on the facts which

have been shown, I now know that it is indeed possible.

So, here's how we can use VR to help fight brain damage.

Annually, an estimated 1.7 million people in the United States alone sustain a traumatic

brain injury (TBI).

Of them, 52,000 die, and 275,000 are hospitalized.

About 75 percent of TBIs are concussions or other forms of mild TBI, cases of which are

generally treated and released from an emergency department.

There is strong evidence that most patients make a good recovery from mild TBI without

additional specific intervention.

However, a nonfatal moderate to severe TBI may result in an extended period of unconsciousness

(coma) or amnesia after the injury.

For individuals hospitalized after a TBI, almost half (43 percent) have a related disability

1 year after the injury.

This shows that Brain Injury is indeed a big problem around the world, and things like

Vehicular Accidents, Sporting Injuries or even just taking a wrong step while walking

outside, can result in low-high levels of damage to your brain.

Sometimes you may experience just a simple headache, or sometimes it can result in more

severe after effects such as memory loss or hard core damage to your brain.

This then moves on to affect other parts of your body such as motor functions, cognitive

function, physical sensations and even the ability to feel any type of emotion.

There have even been cases when someone's personality completely changes after such

an Injury.

Back in 2010, The estimated economic cost of TBI in the U.S, including direct and indirect

medical costs, is estimated to be approximately $76.5 billion, and that's a lot of money.

So the concept of finding simpler and more cost effective methods to help out those in

need is not that bad of an idea.

And among those methods, VR is a main contender.

There's a bit of division and choice which has to go into what VR system exactly is used

to treat which injury.

The use of VR in brain damage rehabilitation is a relatively unexploited resource at the

present time, but it has the potential to expand in the same way as the use of VR in

vocational training has expanded in recent years.

A few years ago, the use of VR in vocational training was a rarity, confined to large-scale

and expensive virtual environments such as the flight simulator.

Now, virtual environments have a useful role to play in numerous vocational training programs

where real-life training is dangerous, expensive, or difficult to monitor and control.

The many diverse occupations that currently make use of the immersive and interactive

properties of VR include drivers, divers, parachutists, fire-fighters, soldiers, Royal

Navy submarine training, and surgeons.

The obvious advantage of using VR in cognitive rehabilitation is its potential to simulate

many reallife or imaginary situations, thereby providing the opportunity for more ecologically

valid and dynamic assessment and training.

It also has the capacity to provide absolute consistency of the environment with the potential

for infinite repetitions of the same assessment or training task.

There was an interesting technology which was found useful to diagnose concussions from

sporting injuries.

Jamshid Ghajar a Neuroscientist and a team at SyncThink, a Palo Alto, California-based

company, have developed a mobile eye tracking technology to diagnose concussions based on

clinical research.

Their goal is to transform concussion diagnoses from guesswork into an objective test.

The EYE-SYNC technology included a VR headset platform that tracks eye movements and reports

signs of impairment within 60 seconds.

Tools such as this could help reduce the risk of brain damage in athletes, which can occur

even before the age of 12, according to a study published in the journal Translational

Psychiatry.

Conventional therapies in neurological rehabilitation, such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy

and speech therapy, involve increased levels of interaction, of course.

However, research has shown that, for example, stroke patients typically spend only 30 to

60 minutes per day in formal therapy.

Consequently, there are lengthy periods in the patient's day when levels of environmental

interaction are quite low.

Here, again, VR can be of help to the therapist.

VR provides a powerful means of increasing levels of environmental interaction.

Importantly it is generally a compelling experience, and largely inescapable, unlike more conventional

computer based cognitive rehabilitation programmes.

Our brain is a huge motivator to what we do.

If our brain is fully functional, our bodies have the capability to be up to the same level.

But if damage occurs within our brain, we essentially are no longer the person who we

were before.

VR helps fix those problems from the inside out and while not being an instant fix to

any problems which we may have, It has been found extremely beneficial to both researchers

and patients alike.

Who knew that something which had been hyped up to play video games could be used to help

people who are suffering from real world damage.

This video was actually a very interesting one to work on.

I was just sitting in this room alone as Hannah usually makes me and it was starting to feel like the loneliest-place-on-the-internet.blogspot.com.

Now this blog by Boy Punk is kind of more of an artist statement. I guess. There's no blog posts or anything

So you can't interact with it. You can't leave comments or likes or any sign of activity.

But it does seem lonely.

And we're gonna look at some very lonely DONGs, things you can do online now guys.

The reason the loneliest-place-on-the-internet.blogspot.com isn't necessarily lonely is because it is

an unfeeling website.

It may be isolated and cut off from any social contact but that actually doesn't make it

lonely.

That just makes it alone.

But wikipedia defines loneliness as the discrepancy between one's necessary and achieved levels

of interaction.

So you could be in the middle of the woods with no one to talk to but if you feel content,

you're just alone not lonely.

And if you're experiencing the reverse at a party surrounded by people you feel you

cannot connect with but want to connect with, you are lonely but not alone.

But how lonely are you specifically?

Well find out with this UCLA loneliness scale.

Because loneliness can be linked to a multitude of problems including but not limited to high

blood pressure, depression, and alcoholism, it has been researched for years.

In 1978 the first version of the UCLA loneliness scale was created but the one on this website

is the revised and condensed version.

Answer each of these ten questions using a four point scale ranging from never to often

to see just how lonely you are.

Notice how each of these questions deals with how you feel about situations in which you

are alone as opposed to simply asking how often you are alone.

So on this quiz I personally scored a 27 and if we look over at the key here it says that I have moderate

loneliness.

And now that being said, being alone is often a cause of loneliness even if it's not loneliness

itself because there is also isolation and extreme isolation can have detrimental effects.

The BBC has a fascinating article called How Extreme Isolation Warps Your Mind.

One thing it talks about is how when people are isolated for long periods of time without

sunlight their sense of time gets thrown way off.

Chances are you might not get 60 seconds on the dot but you should be close.

But this is you now, not having been isolated or hidden from daylight.

In 1961 this French geologist, Michel Siffre descended a little over 905 meters into a

cave where he lived for two months cut off from everyone and sunlight.

While conducting tests it was discovered that he took five minutes to count to what he thought

was only two minutes. That's quite a discrepancy there.

But just like that French geologist many other people choose solitude.

And for that reason loneliness is sometimes replaced with enlightenment and understanding.

But not everyone is lucky enough to choose and some are even forced into solitude for

years on end in solitary confinement.

Many people report horror stories while in solitary confinement and a particularly haunting

one comes from Anthony Graves.

He was a wrongfully convicted man for 18 years and he spent 16 of those years in solitary confinement

in a 8 foot by 12 foot cell.

In this 360 youtube video he gives a very disturbing account of his time in isolation.

You can look around and see the conditions he lived in.

If you're thinking there's not much to look at, well that's pretty much the point

but you're able to click out.

However he wasn't.

Being kept in solitary confinement can cause a lot of horrifying effects.

One highly reported one is hallucinations, both visual and auditory.

People have reported seeing flashes of light out of the corner of their eyes.

One woman even reported hearing screaming only to realize it was actually her own.

If you're interested to experience what auditory hallucinations are like, grab some

headphones and play this video.

It's pretty eerie just to warn you.

And to see someone else deal with isolation, Michael Stevens, yes that very same Michael Stevens

from all your dreams and fantasies, put himself in a room alone for 3 days for an episode

of Mind Field.

acted in that room alone, and how his brain functioned in cognitive tests after.

Yes, isolation can cause a lot of devastation and loneliness but it doesn't have to.

Some people purposefully cut off from society and go backpacking in the woods for months

just to find a sense of inner peace and connection with nature.

So with that, I'm gonna go prance into the woods until the next DONG. That's actually a lie because Hannah's gonna keep me in this room forever.

professional at it because as you can see I got it cutting like my arm my

I wanted to do I'm going to add my text and my test is gonna be YouTube

thumbnails just something just to come off the dome and as you can still see

here we're still kind of lagging a little bit technology is just great when

it works it's just you know you just have to keep winking at me keep moving

at him into you know we'd get there but what you want to do is just go ahead and

um move the text over a little bit and argit get it to Harvard your liking and

as you can wait for this there we go here we go we catching up but you want

to just go ahead and just edit to get the text you want to enlarge the text

that color as well as far as the front whichever you know this close to your

to go ahead and change that color as I mentioned earlier as well so ever your

brain color is you can go ahead and change it and you can own as you can see

those numbers that are constantly changing to the human's number you can

enter your a brand color number in there if you want to get your actual brand

colors in there so absolutely 100,000 - to pay for it

and as you can see I'm playing with the the own the all caps of the letters as

well so I'm going to use my caps to be all caps and I'm going to change on

sides and you can only have it since it's to the right left or a center I

like my text to be centered and then I'll show you another cool tip is you

dealing you don't have to be bold italics however you want to play with it

I'm gonna leave it on a boat and I'm also going to copy this text so I can

kind of had like a little double effect that's kind of like grab me right

attention so once I copy that I'm going to change the color of the second text

over to red and then I'm going to kind of like layer it on top of that the

first word YouTube thumbnails and then what's how layer I'm going to move that

red text to the back or you can leave it in the front however you want to do it

but I'm going to move it to the back and it's kind of giving out that Christmas

feel you do something else yeah being festive here as I mentioned again you

can see my shoulder and my arms kind of like cut off a little bit so I'm just

moving it over to the side just let you know I'm not a professional

comes down to erasing background I'm just on learning how to do this but

don't need Photoshop all of these apps are 100% free for mobile users and I'm

going to add another text and I'm going to say no Photoshop and mobile friendly

and yes I know I spelled mobile incorrectly but I was just moving just

trying to get this video out to you all and just get everything going but you

know mobile mo be i le na mo be li e mo b IL e so mobile friendly and I'm going

to reduce that size as well I'm gonna move it over and I'm just gonna just

continue to keep playing with it as you can see it keeps freezing on me for some

reason it's not keeping up with with my pace of speaking but I'm going to change

all that um the the fuck colors over smart burn colors I have the purchase

brand because I gets out of going back and forth and copy and pasting all the

different numbers from our brand colors so just to quickly her speed up that

process I went ahead and purchased it but you don't have to do that I'm just

just trying to be quicken to the point and just outsource my time so it just

speeds up my process for me but I'm trying to layer it it again so you can

see my brand colors and I'm going to leave it exactly like that and later on

you're gonna see me also change the Photoshop mobile-friendly over to black

and just you know just playing with the device and I mean I the device just

playing with the app just playing with playing with the centering in the

alignment of everything that's on here there's it's nothing absolutely you can

do wrong but here it's just all about capturing your viewers attention when

they're researching on YouTube to get their their information their knowledge

and as you can see I changed the front for no photoshop's moto friendly mobile

friendly to black and after that once I'm satisfied with everything that I

like I'm going to go ahead and say this thumbnail to my phone in I'm

going to upload it over to YouTube in there you pretty much have it how to

create your thumbnails are absolutely 100% free no need for Photoshop no need

for all these expensive dollars or all that good stuff just upload of it and

there you have it
