Waching daily Dec 19 2018

hi my name is dodie I'm a musician and a writer and I feel like I am dreaming all

the times dinner songwriter youtuber Dodie struggles with a mental illness

called Derealization and today we're gonna talk about how she manages it and

how you might be able to as well

what is up everybody this is Chris from the rewired soul where we talk about the

problem but focus on the solution and if you're new to my channel my channel is

all about mental health and what I like to do is pull different topics from the

YouTube community to try to teach you how to improve your mental and emotional

well-being so the end of that kind of stuff make sure you subscribe and bring

that notification bell and real quick announcement for all of my wonderful

patrons out there I'm doing a patreon Q & A recording it this weekend

so I just made a post ask your questions and all of that and if you would like to

be a patron and ask me questions that I'll answer in a video go sign up like

even at the $1.00 tier you get to ask these questions so the reason I do that

is I get a bunch of video requests and this is a way I can make sure that I

answer all your questions so head on over there

anyways Dodie is she's not some musician I just recently kind of got into her

music a little bit I was listening to some of her stuff like he's kind of cool

but anyways I knew that Dodie struggle with derealization and depersonalization I remember she also

helped out Elle Mills when L had her kind of mental breakdown earlier this

year and this video was actually recommended to me by my buddy dr. Alex

by the way go check out dr. Alex's channel it's called our pets health he's

a freakin veterinarian okay so I know a lot of you out there you are cat owners

dog owners like he offers so much free advice over on his channel and he has a

blog in a podcast like go check his channel out if you're a pet owner I will

link it down in description below anyways he sent me this article about

Dodie where she talked a little bit about her derealization and depersonalization

so I wanted to do some research and see what her experience was like with that

so in this video I'm gonna be breaking down two of her videos one was she first

really dove in depth into it and then I'm gonna use some clips from a video

she did with YouTube's licensed marriage Katie use eclipse from that as well all

right it made me so unhappy understatement that I knew it couldn't

be normal I found out the name last year during a mental breakdown and it was

super refreshing to find out that I wasn't just going crazy

and that it had a name and also that a lot of other people felt like this as

well and also it's the first step to treating it right this first clip right

here is something that is is so important okay

like I can definitely relate to what dodi's talking about like so Dodie was

struggling with these symptoms she she didn't know what was happening and if

you're somebody whose fathers with mental illness it could be so scary it

could be so confusing and you think you're going crazy you think you're

going insane right but she talks about this this like sigh of relief she got

when she finally had a name for it and I could relate to that because that's what

happened when I was diagnosed with my generalized anxiety disorder like it

made sense like there was a name to it and one thing that Dodie from doddleoddle and doddlevloggle talking about

is when you get a diagnosis then you're able to start working on the solution

like the first step toward solving any problem is acknowledging that there is a

problem so if nothing else one thing that I want you to take away from this

video is go get checked out okay like something that like bums me out is when

people watch my videos especially some of my older videos where I talk about

different signs and symptoms of different mental illnesses and people

like oh that's me no never ever ever ever ever diagnose yourself okay that is

the worst thing you could do like my videos are designed where if you could

relate to some of the symptoms so if you can relate to derealization and dissociation feeling like

you're in a dream state like go talk to your doctor talk to a therapist talk to

a psychiatrist whoever it is talk to a mental health professional

so here's how I am dealing with it firstly I'm not giving up on treatment I

haven't found anything that works so far but I'm not giving up so yeah I get so

many people who who asked me for tips tricks all these other things and I love

I love this video from Dodie I was just telling my lovely girlfriend

Tristan while we were making dinner and watching this video like this is the

type of video that I look for this video of Dodie's is the type that I look for

alright so like the reason this video is because she talks about

how much effort she's put into her mental health alright and that's

something that I keep trying to teach all of you guys something that I always

say is that you don't have to do everything just do something okay

because our mental health is not something that's just gonna fix itself

like on its own that just doesn't happen okay and so many people stay in their

own suffering because they refuse to get help they refuse to try anything so the

first thing that Dobie talks about is TMS I've also had TMS treatment which

I've talked about briefly before and basically it's transcranial magnetic

stimulation sounds a bit freaky but essentially it's like sending little

electromagnetic pulses to the part of the brain that might cause the

derealization is just like giving it a bit of a kick and stimulating blood flow

hey ma'am would you like to see something freaky it's a it's a very

tuned down version of that all right so what they do is they focus on different

parts of the brain and it sends a little electrical pulses to kind of stimulate

blood flow if you have health insurance and if you're in the United States check

with your insurance provider and see if there's any coverage for transcranial

magnetic stimulation I've heard I've heard mixed reviews about it here's what

I'll say about TMS I haven't heard anything bad

alright worst case scenario that I've heard about TMS is that it didn't help

all right so like my philosophy when it comes to trying out different methods to

improve your mental health it's like unless there's like some severe risk

like go ahead and just try it like what's the worst that can happen like

the only thing that can happen is that you you get better the worst thing that

could happen is that you stay the same alright so but talk to a doctor I'm not

a doctor like like I said from my experience I've never done TMS but

everybody I've talked to you and the research I've done about TMS I haven't

heard of anybody having like a really bad experience with it but this is more

for people with depression not necessarily derealization

also I'm starting CBT on the NHS tomorrow I have an appointment I'm very

excited I'm opening for that helping it might not and that's okay so in this

video this video is a little order and Dodie was talking about Ron

CBT CBT stands for cognitive behavioral therapy now CBT is one of the best one

of the best evidence-based therapies if you don't know what evidence-based

therapy is it is a therapy that is specifically proven by science to work

all right so CBT is extremely helpful for a wide

range of mental illnesses anxiety depression PTSD addiction so many things

so if you could find you a therapist who specializes in CBT go get that therapist

well make sure the therapist doesn't suck

but anyways CBT is a great form of therapy so this again is to recognize

like troubled thought patterns it can also help with bad behaviors too so what

you're trying to do is work on identifying these these toxic behaviors

or toxic thought patterns because a lot of us we get stuck in what we call

thoughts where one bad thoughts files into another bad thoughts files into

another bad thought and then next thing you know we're doing something right so

with the realization like something that I didn't hear Doty talk too much about

she talks a little bit about it with Kati Morton is being triggered which

causes the deer realization right so what CBT can help you out with is

noticing when that trigger happens right and then changing the behavior or doing

something about it and addressing it before you start to disconnect I think I

guess mine I think I had like yeah like a little collection of everything that

happened to me in the space of like two years and then my brain disconnected and

since then it's been like this is fine people we can trick it just stay here

yeah I'm trying to get it back and be like no I can't deal with it just give

it all back but yeah I'm trying to figure out when okay this is what Kati

Morton so one thing that I was missing from the first video I wasn't missing it

I didn't make it was that we didn't really hear like she talked about how

she had a troubling time in 2012 she died a little bit more into that in 2012

to 2014 I believe she said with Katie and like yes so this is something that a

lot of people with derealization or depersonalization or dissociation

struggle with is that this is often often

of PTSD some kind of traumatic experience or just a really stressful

time in your life so I'm not sure what happened to Dodi I'm actually thinking

about getting her book now to see if she talks about it in there because I'm I'm

just interested in curious I'm always interested to see what kind of life

events cause different mental illnesses because so many are preventable

especially if there's somebody you know who who is in it how do I say that how

do I say that not preventable not preventable for the person but for us as

people we can potentially cause a mental illness in someone else and that is

messed up all right like for example many people not all

people with borderline personality disorder but many people with BPD had a

traumatic childhood and that's messed up to me that's why I encourage parents to

be better but anyways it's important to you know seek help and try to identify

what your triggers are what that experience was because what I'm always

trying to teach you guys and especially when it comes to therapy right like

sometimes you know support groups or journaling or whatever can help you

figure it out but I'm always trying to teach you to get down to the root of the

problem so many of us stay in prolonged episodes of mental illness and our own

suffering because we're only looking at the surface level stuff we're not

looking at the root of the problem once you get down to the root then you

can start working on it so Katy recommends a few different types of

therapy she talked about how she specializes in like talk therapy that's

what preferred method and this can be very helpful go check out my early may

seen videos especially my last one that I made about her and Holly like when you

can help your brain process the story of what happened sometimes your brain

starts to heal but the other thing that Katie was talking about is something

called EMDR therapy alright the one that I find works best is like trauma based

treatment that's why I was curious if you try to EMDR but you said you didn't

that doesn't work for everybody either and also might be really awkward I'd

like to try it again because it was really awkward I think that's the main

thing that kind of like pushed me away from it because we tried you know she

did this stuff and that we went through a memory and I didn't do anything I

don't know if I did wrong or like I was just too nervous Oh

spaced out it just felt a bit awkward so I kind of ran away from this this is

used many many many times for people who are trying to overcome trauma and this

is something where they're still doing research and studies on but it stands

for eye movement desensitization and but a lot of people with PTSD war veterans

you know caps firemen people who have been the victim of abuse they are

typically going to try EMDR therapy so I highly highly highly

recommend it Kati mentions that this doesn't necessarily help with D

realization but I would argue that if your d realization is based on trauma

triggers then it might help the somatic experiencing is a lot of like mind-body

connection so recognizing how you're feeling experiencing all of your senses

that last one that she's talking about a schema is actually something I'm not

familiar with but there's so many things that I fear about like DBT dialectical

behavioral therapy its mindfulness alright schema therapy what he's talking

about its mindfulness training okay so DBT therapy is great so I'm going to

link some resources down below and I'll remind you again at the end of this

video but like there's an excellent book I

read about DBT therapy where like if you can't afford therapy like get this book

cuz there's a lot of practices that you could do on your own and it's about

borderline personality disorder but just trust me like if you struggle with any

of these derealization or depersonalization or dissociation

systems symptoms or even like emotional dysregulation and even if you don't have

BPD check this book out please and finally um if you suffer with this

like me you're not alone I bet there will be loads of people in the comments

who are also spaced out all the time or who struggle with this now and again or

all the time like me yeah let's make friends kazantip and I just called back

to the first video that I showed you cuz I want to show that clip like something

that's really important for anybody showing with mental illness is to

know that you are not alone that's one of the reasons I have this channel

that's one of the reasons why I try to do so so so many collaborations is

because I want my audience I want all of you to know that you are not alone you

are not the only one struggling with this thing I know our brain likes to

tell us that we are the only one struggling with our issues but we never

ever ever ever are alright that is why I like in all the

descriptions of all of my videos you will find links to our Facebook group as

well as our discord server come join us connect with other people

so you don't feel so alone take suggestions from others like that

is something absolutely free that you can do to get help for yourself anyways

I do want to thank Dodie if she ever sees this video I appreciate

whenever a youtuber is so open and honest about their mental health and

Dodie is very very open about it and I look forward to following more of

her story and her journey and see how she does but anyways if any of you

struggle with derealization depersonalization or dissociation or

there are other topics that you want me to cover about this like let me know

down in the comments below okay and don't forget I've provided some

resources down below for things that might be able to help you out if you can

relate to any of these symptoms okay but that's all I got for you with this video

if you like this video please give it a thumbs up if you're new make sure you

subscribe and we got notification about and a huge thank you to everybody

supporting the channel over on patreon yeah like three or four new signups

Celebrate The Holiday Season with An Unboxing Video - Duration: 5:50.

(playful music)

- Hello and welcome to my channel.

I am Stephanie and I have a channel on YouTube

called Steph's Romance Book Talk.

And in partnership with Read Bliss,

I get to unbox something with you guys today.

And if you haven't checked them out,

make sure that you go and subscribe to the channel

so you guys can see more content like this.

But this is a holiday box, I believe,

that they decided to send us.

So let's see what we have in here.

They sent me an awesome little letter right here.

This says, "Merry Christmas"

"We hope you have a happy holiday season filled

"with reading and romance," which is what I love from them.

And let's see what else,

oh I'll put this card right out up here.

Oh wow, so I got a awesome Read Bliss bag

that's gonna totally come in handy.

Read Bliss bag right here that's gonna come in handy

for when I go to book signings.

And there's stuff in here.

Oh boy, they really packed it out.

Got a awesome Read Bliss hat, bam right there.

This thing is filled with goodies!

Oh an awesome Read Bliss mug, talk about awesome, yes.

And a Read Bliss like I don't,

I can't remember what they're called, they're the things

that go on the back of your cell phones, a holder thingy,

super excited about that.

Also got an awesome t-shirt, there we go.

And what's in this?

Yes, I believe it is, it is, it's a power bank

that has the Read Bliss logo on it.

Now they also sent me some awesome packages.

Let's check those out.

Package number one. (paper rustles)

Oooh, the oh, these are awesome.

So these are magnetic page holders, page markers

and they are so cute and adorable.

It says I had too much to dream last night is the top one,

and then they have awesome colors that go along with it

and then an awesome book light, which were reading light,

which is awesome because it's totally gonna come in handy.

Package number two.

Oooh, a notebook, and it's pretty.

It's like a notebook that I can just write my thoughts in

and journal, and just lined pages, pretty freakin' awesome.

But it's gorgeous, I love this coloring, love it.

Package number three, let's see.

And they sent me the paperback copy

of Delores Fossen's A Lone Star Christmas,

a Cold Water, Texas novel, which let's see.

A family crisis brings him home just in time for Christmas.

I think I'm gonna cozy up with this

so I can get a Christmas read in, yes indeed.

Super excited to read this,

and I don't read a lot of paperbacks,

but I'm gonna read this one

because it looks very interesting,

and it's about Christmastime.

And then the final package is another book.

The Proposal by Jasmine Guillory,

I have not read this book yet, but I've heard good reviews

for it and I'm looking forward to checking it out.

It is in paperback copy, so I think I will enjoy this.

This is a spin-off of The Wedding Date, which I have read,

and really enjoyed that.

This is Nikole and Carlos's story.

So Nikole is dating this sort of famous guy I believe,

and she, he takes her to a Dodgers game

where Carlos is there with his sister,

yes with his sister, and he sort of saves her

during a botched proposal, so this should be interesting.

I'll probably have it read by the end of this year

because I already have this in e-copy

and now I have it in paperback copy.

I would like to say a big thank you to the Read Bliss team

for sending me all those goodies.

I'm going to enjoy every last one of them,

and they're gonna totally come in handy.

If you haven't already, if you liked this video,

please give me a big thumbs up.

Subscribe to the Read Bliss channel,

and check out my channel as well.

Thank you for watching,

and we will see you guys in the next one.

Lesson from London - Is there a limit on how much abundance is available? - Duration: 3:17.

Today I am sharing a life lesson that I learned while traveling this year.

Hi it's Stacey Berger here with Mastering Your Mindset, where I am passionate about

you living a life you love. While traveling in England earlier this year,

we took a day trip out to Cambridge. And as we toured the cathedrals and the

churches, and they're so old and so beautiful, and as we were inside admiring

the statues and the carvings and the stained-glass windows, there was a

part of me that was just in awe of the beauty and the magnificence. I noticed

there was also a part of me that was looking at it as being wasteful. Of

wondering what else they could have spent the money on and was it really

necessary? And I've trained myself to notice what I'm noticing and to notice

if a thought is expansive or contractive. What I heard in that moment from a still

small voice within me, the voice of truth was the saying from the Upanishads:

"From abundance, you scoop abundance and still abundance remains." There's many of

us that can fall into the habit of thinking there's only so much good, that

there's a limited amount of resources, a limited amount of supply, and it feels

like we're taking from this pie and there's only so much to go around. When

the truth is, we live in an infinite abundant universe where there is more

than enough. And as the Upanishads says that when we

scoop abundance from that infinite source, still abundance remains, that

there's more than enough. If you've been healthy for a while, you don't say well

I'm gonna go be sick for this month so that other people can be healthy. We know

that it doesn't work that way. And it's the same with all good in your life. So

where maybe are you thinking right now from a limited pie? That there's only so

much time, there's only so much money, there's only so much resources. Where can

you shift that to more of an abundance mindset? And as I had that shift in

perception while traveling in England, it really helped me to see that the beauty

in those cathedrals, that magnificence was a demonstration of abundance, an

example of what we're capable of. And if it's available to the church, it's

available to all. So just keep in mind, this isn't about what a church should

invest their money in, or not invest their money, and this is really to look

at your own life - where could you scoop more abundance in, knowing that it's

infinite, there's an infinite supply. So step into that infinite abundance,

remember from abundance, you scoop abundance, and still abundance remains. If that serves

you, make sure you like the video, subscribe to the channel on YouTube,

follow us on facebook, and here is to your success.

Como Hacer Galletas Navideñas | MARCA CHEF #4 - Duration: 7:14.

What's up homies? Welcome to a new episode of T.A.P.A.C.H.U.L.A.

T.A.P.C.H.U.L.A. is the show where I teach you all you need to know to survive your sad life.

If you are watching this video is becuase...

When you go to a Christmas party...

I'm not talking about gifts.

I'm talking about Christmas snacks.

You can't take Doritos or Ruffles, your friends are going to think your jewish (wow that's edgy).

I use to be like that.

Today I'll teach you how to make Christmas cookies. It's a family recipe.

May mom passed it on from her mother.

-The first thing you need is ibuprofen. -Wait!

Hey I'm making a video.

I'm the one that does the cooking videos here.

Who are you?

I'm...

Chef Marca.

I thought you didn't exist anymore since the reboot.

You are not good at it.

Let me show you how it's done.

Hi! I'm Chef Marca.

Now what?

The first thing we need is some flower from the brand Baking Soda LLC.

Best brand in the market.

Baking Soda is the shit.

We need some milk, any type works.

I use Santa Clara.

Lala is for pussies.

The next thing we need is some...

We can't say the name.

Does Liconsa Milk work?

Are we a joke to you?

We need some of this, we can't say the name since it's not a sponsor.

You can use some Protect 'n' Gumball.

We need some Fisopred.

I don't know what it is but it's always devine.

Let's leave it here.

Some Maga sauce.

It's for the Christmas touch.

-It's not that necessary. -But it's magical.

Exactly it's magical.

If you want it to have the Christmas spirit.

And we also need some brown sugar.

Let's start by putting the flower.

It's hard to do it.

With just one hand.

That's baking soda, not flower.

We throw in a lil' bit.

When your ancesters start screaming.

We need some Emilio Chocolate.

-You said the name of the other brand. -Censor that shit.

-I'll put in the name of the other brand just record it now. -Emilio Chocolate.

If it's closed just open it and watch out for the tin foil.

Don't put this in the microwave.

You put in a lil' bit, don't be greedy it's for the flavour.

So it get's a texture.

What's next you ask.

The brown salt.

Just be careful... shit!

It's okay, this is for a large group.

Next up it's the Christmas spirit.

We are almost done.

This is the next to last ingriedient

How do you open this?

I mostly use the little packs from Lay's.

So I'm not used to bottles.

As you can see it smells like Christmas.

Now we need Fisopred.

What I do with this.

Don't put to much in.

It does have a stench.

That's the stuff! It always ends up just devine.

Finally.

Last but not least.

Santa Clara milk, Liconsa doesn't work.

Unless you are going to give it to the homeless.

That's the stuff!

I told you we needed a spoon.

We have to mix all of this.

Just like this.

Don't mix it to fast.

So it doesn't turn in to paste.

But with a moderated speed till it turns brown.

That's the colour we need for the cookies.

As you can see it's ready.

The doe is ready (2x)

I don't know if anyone wants to try.

-You try it, it's your creation. -Yeah, sure.

Sorry about all of this they reduced the budget after the third season.

But here it is the doe.

We are going to put it in the microwave.

Yo, Fisopred has Iron.

Don't worry.

A little bit of poison once a year never hurt nobody.

We are going to put it in "Baked Potatoes Mode".

It's the closest mode to "Baked Cookies".

The drawing is the same, they don't fool anyone.

We are going to Toluca? It says, Touch?

Start.

Two weeks have passed.

It's microwave time is over.

The electric bill came today.

But it's going to be worth it. We are finally going to see our result.

It smells nice.

It's not that I don't like Christmas

No, you just have some very strong feelings about Christmas traditions

It's more like Christmas imagery

that I find disturbing

like Santa Claus

Like, I don't trust a man with a large sack

full of things

Like Frosty the Snowman

as a seven-year-old who asked Santa for rhinoplasty

I just felt like there was a little too much

attention paid to his button nose

and that didn't sit very well with me.

[Patrick] No.

You know?

Like, what if you weren't born with a button nose?

I am obsessed with the Nutcracker

I mean, why would you not want to watch—

The girl gets a bad gift

and turns it into a prince!

The whole second act is basically dessert coming to life

so, I mean, I don't know what part about that you don't like

Do you want your dessert to be alive?

Yeah

I want a gingerbread to dance on my tongue.

I performed in my all-boys high school's Christmas pageant.

I'm listening.

In the coveted role of Mary

which actually wasn't a huge part

until I decided to write an original song

entitled 'Mary Christmas Baby'

Mary spelt M-A-R-Y, of course

and I dedicated it...

...to my mother

Wow!

That's very cute

- Isn't it?

- I was also in my school's pageant

You know the wise men?

Who bring gold, frankincense and myrrh?

Yeah, yeah, you were one of the wise men.

No I was offered the part of the wise men

but turned it down.

I played myrrh.

I just thought it would be a more dimensional

challenging opportunity

and I'm sorry, but the other parents

were not coming up to baby Jesus

and asking them to sign the program

- How does a baby give an autograph?

Is my question.

So we're poking holes.

I guess... in the story

I don't know, myrrh?

How Much Economic Power Does Sweden Have? - Duration: 13:33.

In many of our videos in the past

We've looked at Sweden and discovered a lot about what makes the country great and unique and in our playlists here on FTD facts

I've learned a lot about many different military groups in the country that give us an indication

Of Sweden's power and as well have had videos just looking at the special things of the country

However today I put a unique spin on our power themed videos as military is not always the thing that makes a country

Powerful because today we look at the economic

Power of Sweden and find out how it affects the world and itself what's going on everybody. Welcome to FTD facts

my name is Dave Walpole and this is a channel where I look at people cultures and places and

Militaries from all around the world now today

Pretty excited about this video because this is a new spin on our videos

As I said, we're looking at the economic power of Sweden

So here I'm gonna bring it up later on in the episode

But I've done playlists about Sweden specifically and looking at some really great things of the country

I'll talk about that later because let's get rolling with some of the facts

So Sweden, it is a country that is classified as a major exporting country

For example when it comes to the OAC it stated that in

2016 there was

133 billion dollars in exports making this country ranked 32nd in the world of

221 and as a matter of fact when it comes to these exports for Sweden

It has been growing ever since the 90s and as for imports they state that they purchase about

131 billion dollars of goods ranking 31st in the world of

221 and with these imports and exports in the amount of money that the country spends and

Makes we're gonna look at money and with that we got to start off with gross domestic

product because the country has a GDP of

550 billion dollars which is classified as a nominal GDP as of

2018 also with this it also ranks 21st in the world for nominal GDP

however, when it comes to purchasing power parity

Which is a much more

Clearer way of comparing one nation to another it sits at 38 in the world of this the GDP per capita

sits at forty eight point nine

Thousand dollars coming in at nineteen. But of course the thing is, you know, you can have money and all this sort of stuff without

Understanding where the money comes from with that. We got a look at the workforce. The people that are actually

making this money making the products to give imports exports and thus making the GDP because within

Sweden they say there is a labor force of

5.4 million people and this is of a population of

9.99 5 million people as of

2017 by the way, the 2017 was the total population asked for the labor force. That was last updated in August of

2018 of course within this labor force it breaks up into three different major occupation types such as agriculture

Which makes up 1.1 percent of the entire labor force. You also have industrial or industry coming in at?

28.2% and services being the largest amount coming in at

70.7%

Also when it comes to how much these sectors make for the total gross domestic product

It's very similar and mirrors the amount of labour force percentages. For example, the agriculture comes in at 1.8%

Industry and industrial comes in at twenty seven point four percent of the GDP while services make up 70 point eight percent

Keep in mind that percentage base for the GDP is only from 2012 where the labor force is

2017 so things might have changed within those years also side note when it comes to these businesses, believe it or not

ninety percent of all companies and

Businesses within Sweden are owned privately

And as a matter of fact only five percent of them are owned by the state

We're another five percent are classified as consumer and producer cooperating companies

so one of the things that Sweden has going for and I mean for me I find this is a very good thing because

Over here in North America, we seem to be getting less of these and that is unions

Despite what you might feel over here in North America

We got a lot of problems with employment and wage gaps and all that sort of things

So unions kind of help prevent it they do create their own problems

but the thing is the major fact is that Sweden has a lot of unions and for the unions when it comes to all these

Sectors they say about 70% of the entire labor force in the country is unionized now with that in mind

Let's take a look at how money is spent within the country. First of all when it comes to the average gross salary an

individual makes approximately

$54,000 a year, but although that might be pretty high

Let's be perfectly honest Sweden is one of the most taxed countries

It's as a matter of fact the highest taxed country in the entire world

So firstly when it comes to taxes, it breaks down like this that 27 percent of it goes to health care and education

five percent of it goes to the police and military and

Forty-two percent of that goes to social security in which to add to that. They say employers pay

31% into this every single year and obviously the percentage lowers for older employees as time goes on

Oh, and by the way, basically if you're wondering what Social Security is because when I first thought about it

I was like wait does that mean that the country is just investing in? Everybody's Facebook security

No, it's not that we're talking things like welfare

Disability benefits and things of that nature to add a few to that list

We're also talking child allowances daycare allowances parental benefits

disability and elderly care housing benefits

Alright, so actually before I continue with tax

I just wanna let you guys know about

something quickly here on FTD facts because on the channel we have usually when I do a themed

Video around a particular country a lot of people from that country are actually watching

So for all you guys probably a majority of you are from Sweden, which is awesome

But just an FYI

We have broken up our videos into particular playlists to make it easy for you guys to learn more content about your own country

So if you want to learn more about the military you guys can just click this card right here

and right after this card is gonna be a playlist just about general facts of Sweden, but however,

We're gonna continue to learn more here

So if you guys want to wait till the end of this video, I'll put it at the end

I also put in the description box below but let's keep learning about the economy

So let's continue with tax now to understand how taxing works in Sweden

anyone who makes zero Crona to eighteen thousand eight hundred

SEK has to contribute zero percent to taxation. However, this immediately jumps up to thirty-two

For anyone who makes anywhere between eighteen thousand eight hundred

to four hundred and sixty eight thousand seven hundred Crona

Of course 32 percent of Taxation is for the average or slightly above average income

however

Another twenty percent will get tacked on equaling fifty-two percent

If one person makes four hundred and sixty eight thousand seven hundred Crona to six hundred and seventy five

Thousand seven hundred Crona and of course anything above that six hundred and seventy five thousand seven hundred

Will result in an individual being taxed not just the thirty-two but also an extra twenty five coming in at fifty seven percent

This of course is known as the progressive tax

System in which people who make a lot more money get taxed more

Also, if you were to sell property for what is known as capital gains, the country has a flat rate of 30 percent

Of course this high tax policy is known as the Nordic tax model

However, let's keep in mind that inflation within the country is

generally pretty balanced out at two point three percent as of

2018 but keep in mind that is up from

2017 which was approximately on an average one point nine percent. Also, this is really good to know that things have changed drastically since

1980 because in that year the inflation was like seventeen percent

It was nuts as well for historical records. Sweden itself did go through a major economic crisis in the 90s

This was a result of a housing bubble in 1991 and 1992

Which was very similar to the mortgage crisis in 2007 and 2008 that happened pretty much worldwide

but mostly in the United States and North American countries

and of course because of that one thing that the country needed was a major

Bailout and help from the major banks of Sweden also side note when it comes to the central bank of Sweden

Not really anything to do with how much power this country has

I mean it could be that way

But did you know that Sweden's central bank is the oldest central bank in the entire world?

And as a matter of fact, it's the third oldest bank period in the entire world

Mm-hmm, which by the way if you didn't know it began operation in 1668

Nath's also, let's move right along. Let's talk about unemployment in Sweden

This is a major factor for all countries, especially when it comes to economy. So in Sweden the unemployment sits at approximately 6.8%

Obviously it's gone down over the years but one of the major

Contributing factors to this is the foreigners that came during the refugee crisis

but of course there are major advancements and pushes to get these foreign people working because hey

You just need everybody working in society, right?

so let's just jump back for a second and let's take a look at the exports and all that sort of stuff because

One thing that's really interesting is as I said services makes up the entire labor force

it also is a big contributor to the exports as a matter of fact for the

Services one major component is IT and like many countries it is taken over from your traditional jobs and although yes

Of course many countries can provide their own IT

That is actually a really good thing for Sweden because although it makes a lot less

compared to your traditional products a pulp steel wool and other

Craftsmanship. The good part is is because Sweden has these types of jobs

It makes Sweden less affected by worldwide economic problems and changes lastly

I also forgot to mention when it comes to the economy Sweden does not not n ot have any form of minimum wage

No, yep, that's right. Not a single thing. You mentioned minimum wage over there. They're like what now?

The reason for this is because the companies and the unions have set agreements on what?

individuals should be paid based off their age and their

qualifications and of course job type to give you an idea for the hotels and restaurants services in

2016 a 17 year old would be roughly given 80

4.50

Crona's or nine dollars and ninety four cents an hour

Whereas a 20 year old or above with no experience was given one hundred and sixteen point nine zero SEK equalling, roughly

1375 an hour, but the same age group with six years experience was given 130 SEK or

1543 an hour, which actually some people may say Sweden is a very socialist sort of country

But because they have this union agreement

They're also pretty much identified as a free trade free business sort of country and as matter-of-fact state-based minimums

They kind of shake their head out. They say no, that's wrong. Mm-hmm

also, keep in mind that is based only simply off of hotel and

Restaurant sort of services. I didn't get into doctors or construction workers or anything like that

They would get paid differently

Also, let's match this with the cost of living in which I'm gonna use número comm which they say is an updated

2018 number as well. I'm gonna look at the city of Stockholm

Which is one of the most expensive cities to live in just to give you a contrast

Comparison of a job that might not pay as much as say like a doctor

versus the most expensive places to live for example a one-bedroom apartment in

Stockholm is roughly twelve thousand

164 Crona while outside of the city is roughly eighteen thousand one hundred and seventy four as for smaller things

Let's look at milk. It is roughly

11.5 Crona a loaf of bread that is approximately 500 grams is 20

3.85 Crona, of course not all of this is completely accurate. Keep in mind. It depends on where you live within the city

also

it depends on the type of product you buy the brand name what stores you buy it from all that sort of thing and

Lastly let's just quickly look at the dollar because for one US dollar in today's world it equals over nine

SEK which of course fluctuates every day, but it's good to know that in the last ten years

It has been up compared to the US dollar since it had a major jump in

2014 so there you go guys. That is me looking at the economic power of Sweden. I'm amazed at this country

I'm just wow

I'm always blown away about what Sweden and a lot of other European

Countries are doing now before you guys get out of here

Be sure to hit that like button if you guys really enjoyed this video

Also, if you guys want to learn more about Sweden, like I said, we got those playlists

They're gonna be down in the description box below and at the end of the video

So other than that, my name is Dave waffle

You're gonna love this sort of video any of you. Just want to learn more about how much power

Sweden has yo definitely check these out you might be surprised at some of the historical things that you don't even know about

So sit back, enjoy our playlists and we'll see you in the next one. Okay. Bye
