YouTube is a great source of entertainment -- hours of fun spent losing yourselves down

rabbit holes, from Mukbangs to Vlogs to list videos like hours -- however, there are some

dark mysterious floating around the streaming platform -- unsolved murders, creepy disappearances,

and the unexplainable supernal -- and that's what we're going to be talking about today.

Hey guys, welcome back to Top 5 Scary Videos, I'm your host Lucy McPhee and this is the

Top 5 Scary and Unsolved Mysteries on YouTube.

Before we jump in be sure to give this video a big thumbs up if you're a fan of the macabre,

and while you're down there don't forget to hit that subscribe button.

Alright, let's do this.

5 The Chase Family Vault The first account of The Chase Family Vault

incident was published in 1883 in James Edwards Alexander's Transatlantic Sketches.

According to the writer, a Mrs. Goddard was buried in the vault in 1807, followed by Ann

Marie Chase in 1808, and later Dorcas Chase in 1812.

However -- following the death of Thomas Chase, the vault was once again opened, the what

was discovered baffled everyone.

The caskets of the Chase girl were said to have been disturbed, having been tossed from

their places and left in a very confused state.

A Similar incident was found to have occurred upon opening the vault for two burials in

1816 and 1819.

It has been stated, I quote, "Each time that the vault was opened the coffins were

replaced in their proper situations, that is, three on the ground side by side, and

the others laide on them.

The vault was regularly closed; the door (a massive stone which required six or seven

men to move) was cemented by masons; and thought the floor was of sand there were no marks

of footsteps or water.

The last time the vault was opened was in 1819.

Lord Combermere was then present, and the coffins were found confusedly thrown about

the vault, some with their heads down and others up.

What could occasioned this phenomenon?

In no other vault in the island has this ever occurred.

Was it an earthquake which occasioned it, or the effects if an inundation in the vault?"

end quote.

What are your theories?

Were the spirits of the Chase Family not yet at peace -- lingering within the sealed off

vault -- desperately seeking escape?

Or was something less sinister at play -- an earthquake -- a very strong jokester?

No one will ever know.

4 Jeffrey Daniels On November 10th, 1997, a man in his late

thirties checked into a Super 8 Motel in Aiken, South Carolina.

He paid in cash but left no name, stating to the staff that he wanted to "leave all

the behind".

That night he ordered food but when it arrived he did not answer the door, and a do not disturb

sign was seen hanging on his door with a handwritten note that read "I am not responsible for

the consequences".

Three days later his body was found -- he had committed suicide -- however his method

of death had never been released to the public -- which has posed many questions.

No identification was discovered at the scene, only two bottle of antidepressants -- however

their labels were removed.

Upon investigation it was discovered that the mystery man had stayed at a number of

local hospitals following a handful of failed suicide attempts -- the only name he gave

-- Jeffrey Daniels.

He supplied a social security number and a New York address -- however, both were fake.

The mystery man's true identity was never discovered, or why he so desperately sought

to remove his existence and leave behind all evidence of his life.

3 Kenny Veach On November 10th, 2014, a hiker by the name

of Kenny Veach disappeared overnight in the mountains of Nevada -- and since then -- his

disappearance has remained a complete mystery to the public and even those that knew him.

Prior to his disappearance, Veach commented on a YouTube video -- claiming to have found

a cave in the area of the Nellis Air Force Base, he wrote, "I am a long distance hiker.

One time during one of my hikes out by Nellis Air Force Base, I found a hidden cave.

The entrance to the cave was shaped like a perfect capital M. I always enter every cave

I find, but as I began to enter this particular cave, my whole body began to vibrate.

The closer I got to the cave entrance, the worse the vibrating became.

Suddenly I became very scared and high-tailed it out of there.

That was one of the strangest things that ever happened to me".

Veach had stated that he would return to the cave -- bringing with him a camera and a weapon--

and that he did.

He posted a video on YouTube showing the hiker looking inside -- however, for those hoping

to hunt it down themselves, it is almost near impossible considering the vastness of the

desert.

The events following the video are a complete mystery -- all we know is that Vech returned

six months later, but he was never seen or heard from again.

We can only speculate.

Was there something more supernatural occuring within the cave -- causing the unexplained

vibrations.

Did he get lost upon his return -- but considering his hiking experience it is doubtful.

Did he commit suicide?

All we know is that a search party was conducted and his cellphone found near an abandoned

mine shaft -- yet no body, clothes, or other belongings were other located.

2 Eilean Mor Lighthouse Keepers Eilean Mor is a remote island located within

the Flannan Islands.

It is completely uninhabited -- aside from one lighthouse that once housed a group of

keepers whose unexplained disappearances left the world stunned.

The island has always sparked interest in people due to the supernatural superstition

surrounding.

The islands were named after St. Flannen -- a 6th century Irish Bishop who built a small

chapel on the island in hopes to the detour the spirits he believed to haunt the isolated

spot.

Now, on the 26th of December, 1900, a small vessel was making its way towards the Flannan

Islands -- it's destination -- Eilean Mor.

The vessel was carrying Captain James Harvey, and replacement lifehouse keeper, Joseph Moore.

As the vessel drew closer to the island, the pair were surprised to find that no one was

there to great them -- they even sent up a warning flare to attract their attention -- however,

there was no response.

As they made their way up to the lighthouse, the immediately noticed something was awry.

The door was unlocked, coats missing, and chairs were overturned -- as though someone

had left in quite the hurry.

The island was searched but no one was ever found -- except for a lighthouse log belonging

to Thomas Marshall -- the last entry was on December 12th.

He wrote of severe winds likes of which had never been seen in twenty years.

He also noted that one of the keepers had been very quiet, and the other, crying.

However -- what makes this log entry particularly peculiar is that there was never any reports

of a storm hitting the island -- in fact, the weather was calm.

Eventually more clues were found -- rope stewn over the rocks which held a brown crate.

Perhaps the keepers were attempting to retrieve supplies before a wave washed them all out

to sea?

I guess we will never know.

1 Elisa Lam Arguably the most infamous unsolved mystery

floating around on YouTube -- many internet dweller has attempted to solve this unexplainable

death of a young Canadian girl at the Cecil Hotel -- but none have been able to crack

it -- and I doubt they ever will.

On February 19, 2013, the body of Elisa Lam was discovered atop the infamous hotel in

Downtown Los Angeles -- floating in the building's water tank -- completely naked.

Prior to the grisly discovery, Lam had been reported missing at the beginning of the month,

and her body was only located after tenants had reported issues with the water supply

in the hotel.

The root cause -- Lam's deceased body floating within it.

Now -- the discovery was truly horrifying -- and the way in which her body was found

has left more questions than answers -- however, it's not the most disturbing thing that

emerged out of this bizarre case.

A CCTV video began to float around YouTube of Lam's final moments -- which featured

her in a frenzied stated inside of the hotel elevator.

In the disturbing video Lam can be seen hitting a number of different buttons the elevator

panel -- yet the doors never close -- whether down to a malfunction -- or something more

sinister -- Lam's behaviour is what sparks the most intrigue.

She stands in the corner, almost hiding out of sight from whoever -- or whatever -- is

on the other side of the doors.

She then steps out, before quickly stepping back in again -- and then eventually leaves

the elevator entirely.

Now many theorists on the internet have noted that a shadow that does no belong to Lam can

be seen outside of the elevator doors -- personally I haven't spotted anything -- but that doesn't

mean that she was completely alone.

Now -- back to the discovery of her body -- once retrieved from the water tank it appeared

to have decomposed and was bloated -- showing hints of green and even marbling on the abdomen.

However -- there were no signs of foul play or suicide -- which left medical professionals

completely baffled.

I don't think we'll ever know what truly happened to Elisa Lam -- but what do you guys

think?

Well, there we have it -- these were the scariest unsolved mysteries I could find, but feel

free to leave me a comment down below with any that you have found.

While you're down there be sure to give this video a big thumbs up, subscribe, and

turn on notifications so you never miss another scary vid, and until next time, see ya later.

I'm taking on their Chili Con Carnival Pizza Challenge! Two years ago I was here

I did their massive nachos challenge and I won that and then Mitch did the Pizza

challenge, we are switching - tonight he's gonna do the nachos after I

do this one I've got 30 minutes to finish it's about four and a half to

five pounds total there's this whole pizza topped with a whole bunch it's

called the Chili Con Carnival because there's a whole bunch of beef chili as

the topping on the pizza then there's about a pound of nachos on top we've got

salsa sour cream and guacamole, if I fail it's gonna be about 23 quid but if I win

I'll get the meal free, I think they're gonna give me a sweet t-shirt, and I will

be up on their Wall of Fame let's get this challenge started!

All right last night's challenge in North Hampton was 8.36 pounds or 3.8

looks delicious and I am starving so let's see thank you to Brewhouse for

having us back to take the challenge let's go

1, 2, 3. . .

I didn't even understand any of that!

We're just under nine minutes in I'm getting all my healthy monounsaturated

fat from the avocado and this guacamole. I have a couple options as far as toppings on the

pizza but one of them was pulled pork and I had so much on that burger last

night that I just struck with the beef chili and I'm happy I did because it is

delicious, but we'll get the rest down and get the win!

There's 100% chance that he knows!

Love that pizza the nachos on top we're great thank you

How to Make Tapestry Crochet Bag Part 4 Easy step by step for beginners - Duration: 16:39.

hi I'm Kristin Omdahl and welcome to my studio

in this series of videos I'm going to show you how to make the shangri-la

tapestry crochet bag tapestry crochet is an incredible technique for creating

gorgeous color work with simple stitches and the added bonus is the fabric is

reversible if you can double crochet you can make this bag to make this beautiful

bag you're going to need two balls each of two different colors of Be So Baby

yarn which is DK weight 100 percent milk fiber I'm going to use two balls of

color peach and two balls of colored turquoise for the sample and the

original bag was done in two balls of navy blue and orchid pink you're also

going to need a size E 4 or 3.5 mm crochet hook follow the link

provided to order Be So Baby Yarn and download your pattern thanks for joining

me all the way to the fourth video for the shangri-la tapestry crochet bag just

as a quick recap in the first video we did increases in the round with two

colors to create this beautiful circular base then we worked two colors in the

round without increases to create the sides of this bag in this beautiful

chevron pattern and video part three we did the vertical stripe edging and now

in the fourth and final video I'm going to show you how to make these really

cool chords that work beautifully as purse handles on this bag and show you

the clever construction for joining this and creating that tapered look when you

pull on the handles so let's get started just as a quick recap I know sometimes

it's really a great idea just to take a few seconds and go over some tips and

tricks for weaving in your loose ends if you already know how to weave in your

loose ends that's great sometimes it's helpful just to get a quick reminder

that it's so easy to do and so worth taking the extra time to do it well

especially if you're giving something as a gift it's really important that you do

your weave in your loose ends properly just so that gift recipient doesn't have

any trouble with them coming back out especially when you're giving a gift to

a non crafter they wouldn't know what to do if their ends came out so it's always

a better practice to do it right the first time so I've got my tail woven in

to our threaded on to a yarn needle and I'm going to work on the wrong side of

the fabric which is the inside of the bag but if you're doing it properly it

really doesn't matter and you want to work in and out of your stitches in

multiple directions best practices say to do at least three different

directions so we went that way then we can go in

the opposite direction for a little bit then we could work in a diagonal after

that or we could continue working up and down it whatever you feel is right is

fine for you it's just really important that you do it in multiple directions

and try to get at least three or four inches of ends woven in the more you do

and the more directions you do it in the less likely it is to unto come undone

and you know think about the years that someone's going to enjoy something and

washing it and drying it and just the actual wear and tear of everyday it's

really important that you do a good job of weaving in your loose ends because if

you don't someone could have a lot of trouble with it and not have any clue

what to do so I'll go ahead and finish that up

okay to make these supercool chords for the purse handles of the shangri-la bag

we're going to be making two separate chords and then weaving them together so

we're going to start with color a but you can do whatever color you like so

when I say color a I'm going to go with the color I used on the first round one

of the bag but again you could do this in any way you like you could do it all

in one color if you like I really love the way the texture of the woven cords

looks with the two colors but it's totally up to you okay we're gonna start

by tying our yarn to our crochet hook just whatever type of method you prefer

you can use a slip knot you can use a magic loop you can use a square knot it

does not matter and we're going to do a found eight a set of foundation ovals

foundation oval is something that I really enjoy making and those of you

that have made many of my other projects will be familiar with this but if you're

not that's okay we're going to start with a chain three and we're going to

double crochet into the third chain from our hook you don't count the working

loop on your hook so you're gonna count back three chains to the first one yarn

over your hook insert your hook in the specified chain yarn over pull up a loop

yarn over pull through two yarn over pull through two so you've got like this

little oval right there and the chain three would be one side and the double

crochet the other side and you see there's a space in the middle we're

going and that's what I call a foundation oval we're gonna make another

one now chain three and work a double crochet in the third chain from our hook

don't count the working loop on your hook count back one two three yarn over

your hook insert your hook pull up a loop yarn over pull through two yarn

over pull through two you want to make this cord long enough to work as both

per straps for the bag for the larger bag we did sixty-four ovals but I'm

going to do a smaller version of it here just to demonstrate so we're just going

to continue working these ovals until we have the size cord that we need

so at this point I would call that for foundation ovals

one two three four when you've reached the length that you want for your

foundation ovals you just want to fasten off and this is what it will look like

at this point I want to make a little reminder for myself that this is the end

we finished at not the end we started at so I'm going to tie a very loose little

knot here just as a reminder that this is the end we finished on and now I'm

going to take my second color of yarn I'm going to take the label off the yarn

now because I'm going to work from both sides of the ball because I want to work

with two thicknesses of the same yarn if you have two separate balls of yarn at

this point that would be a very easy way to do this as well but I'm going to do

it with one ball of yarn so I thought working from both sides of the ball the

inside and the outside I could show you the same thing and now what we're going

to do is tie the yarn to our crochet hook and just simply chain and you want

to make a chain as long as the foundation oval chord so I'm just

chaining and you want to chain for the same length as this one

okay my chords are about the same length right now my green one is just a little

bit longer but I think it might I might end up needing a little bit more to

weave in and out of the other chord but what I'm going to do is not fasten this

one off I'm actually going to leave elongate the loop so I don't unravel it

by working with my yarn and remember where we've made a reminder on this one

of which side we worked we finished off on just in case I need to unravel this

one back I want to remember that this is the end that I can unravel so I'm going

to start with the beginning of my foundation ovals and if I didn't make

that reminder sometimes it's hard to remember so you want to start on the

side that you began the foundation ovals on and that's the side you're going to

start weaving the chain from the side you began that one on so we know which

side we begin because it's not the side that's still open and I'm gonna take my

yarn needle now and thread those two tails on to the yarn needle and now

working I'm going to turn this this way though and now working in and out of the

foundation ovals we're going to work up through that one and then back down

through the next try not to twist the foundation ovals as we go how simple is

that right and then we'll come back up through the next one and even though my

yarn needle is sharp and I could stab into the actual stitches I think it's a

better practice to make sure that you don't because it'll be easier to slide

this through if we need to adjust the length so I'm trying to work into the

the larger hole in the middle of that foundation oval try not to pierce any of

the stitches it'll be easier for you to adjust okay so you're going to go up

through one and down through the next trying not to twist if you end up

twisting the foundation ovals it's not the end of the world I think it still

looks pretty but I think you'll get a more uniform look if you

try not to

it looks so intricate but seriously could this be any easier

okay so now that we've made it all the way through you want to line these up so

that they're fairly close and we can tie these into a knot just a little overhand

knot

okay and then we're going to adjust this back through and because we didn't

fasten off the green cord it'll be easy to unravel or add more cord if we need

it no we are very close look at that up let's just this a little bit more want

it to sit in there pretty flat

okay so now since we didn't fasten this one off I can unravel this one back a

little bit okay now I'll fasten off and I'll do another overhand knot

just to secure them together and there's our beautiful woven

cord how beautiful is that now I want to show you on the finished bag what we did

from there after I did that we're gonna take what we did is take the entire

length of cord so you're gonna grab all three of those tails from them the same

length first and we put them back onto a yarn needle and wove them through the

bag by taking so when the bag was flat I'll show you on this one real quick but

it's not the same size so we'll end up looking at the big one again so what I

did was take two inches I did a fold like this of two inches indenting in so

you have four thicknesses of bag and inserted the needle through the bottom

of the striped hem on through all four thicknesses like that to get the cord

through and then did the same thing on the other side so you're going to insert

make that indent of about two inches and then lining up where that last the

bottom of the vertical stripe is on all four thicknesses and pulled the handle

through okay now after that actually we could have done this it's easier to do

it this way it seems a little convoluted but it is easier to do it this way so

now I'm going to pull this side back out because I want to tie my knot inside one

of these sections that sense so now I'll grab this one again thread

it back onto my yarn needle okay and then where we were doing it before go

through those first two thicknesses again to match up with the other end

inside the fold and then we're going to do a little square knot here which is

tying one end time you could either do the left side under and then they look

let's see let's do that again so we can start with to do a quick

square knot we're going to do right side over left and then right side under left

and then do it pretty close to the end so there's just a little bit extra and

then it's a very secure knot so then you can trim your ends from there but I'm

going to show you on the big bag because we have the right size cord for doing

this type of a join and so we've got or square knot inside that little two inch

and then on one side then we have our other two inch indent here and so when

we open the bag the whole handle disappears and you can and you can use

it as a bag that sits flat on the floor and fill it up as far as you want and

then when you go to pick it up the gravity of the handles and the weight of

the bag cinches those two sides creates that little gathering on each side and

gives you that tapered top and that beautiful purse handle make sure you

10 Most Effective Ways To Remove Acne Scars & Pimple Marks - Duration: 8:05.

10 Most Effective Ways To Remove Acne Scars & Pimple Marks.

For many acne sufferers, the prospect of living blemish-free can easily lead to a medicine

cabinet full of chemical creams and oral medications.

While these treatments may offer immediate and powerful results, they also tend to carry

a long list of side-effects.

For those who desire a safe alternative to get rid of the scars left behind from pimples

and acne, try some of these clever natural solutions.

1.

Aloe Vera.

Fresh aloe vera gel is a potent source of vitamins which can help to heal skin and fade

scars.

Aloe is gentle, so you won't have to worry about further damaging or irritating skin.

Also, because aloe is such a wonderful natural moisturizer, it will leave your skin looking

and feeling softer and healthier.

While aloe vera gel may be found in any drug store, pharmacy or online, fresh organic aloe

is best.

Potted aloe plants are easy to find and require almost no maintenance to grow even without

the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

Should you choose to use fresh aloe to combat your acne scars, just break off a small piece

of one leaf, peel away the outer flesh to expose the gel, and massage gently into your

skin.

For best results, let the gel soak in for at least thirty minutes before washing it

off.

If you don't have a readily available aloe plant, then you can purchase organic aloe

vera gel from here.

2.

Baking Soda.

Baking soda is a common household item with literally hundreds of uses, including the

ability to help heal scars.

Baking soda is composed of sodium bicarbonate crystals which gently exfoliate skin when

used as a cleansing scrub.

Just mix a few teaspoons of baking soda with enough water to form a thick paste then massage

into skin where scars are present.

Once applied, you should leave the mixture on for a minute or two.

This will allow the soda to cleanse pores and help prevent further blemishes.

After a couple of minutes, wash your face in lukewarm water and apply a good natural

moisturizer like rose hip seed, jojoba, coconut, or olive oil.

3.

Coconut Oil.

coconut oil for acne scarsCoconut oil is at the top of the list when it comes to natural

moisturizers with healing properties.

Scoop about a quarter of a teaspoon of organic virgin coconut oil (this is the best brand

available to buy) into the palm of your hand and let it melt as it comes up to body temperature.

With your fingertips, massage oil directly onto scarred skin and let it soak in.

There is no need to wash coconut oil away as the vitamins and essential fatty acids

will continue to work and improve skin health as long as you wear it.

However, if the oil is too heavy for your comfort, leave it on for at least thirty minutes

before removing with an all-natural cleanser.

4.

Cucumber.

Cucumbers are a popular ingredient in facial treatments for good reason.

This vegetable is not only super hydrating, cucumber also contains vitamin A, vitamin

C, and magnesium – all of which are great for your skin.

To use this treatment for healing acne scars just pick up an organic cucumber from your

local market, cut off a few thin slices, and lay them over your scarred skin.

After about thirty minutes, discard the cucumber slices and rinse your face with cool water.

Repeat daily as desired.

5.

Honey.

Another natural moisturizer which can help heal scars is honey.

It is best to use raw honey, not the processed kind found on the shelves of most chain grocery

stores.

To obtain the best quality, try your local farmer's market or this is a good option

available on Amazon.

Once you've gotten the good stuff, simply massage a small amount of honey over your

scars and let this wonder of nature work its magic.

You can also mix about a teaspoon of ground cinnamon per two tablespoons of honey for

added pore-cleansing power.

Use this treatment as often and for as long as you like.

6.

Lemon.

Lemon juice is a natural alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that can be used to fade scars, promote

healing, and revitalize skin.

Simply squeeze the juice from one organic lemon into a small bowl.

You can use this treatment undiluted or mixed with water if you have sensitive skin.

Dab juice over scars with a cotton ball and let it dry completely.

Then rinse your face with cool water and follow up with a natural moisturizer.

Repeat this treatment once every two or three days.

Remember that lemon juice will make skin more sensitive to UV radiation, so it's best

to avoid direct sunlight for a while after using this treatment.

7.

Potato Juice.

Vitamin- and mineral-rich potato is another vegetable which is great for skin health and

healing.

Use the juice of a fresh organic potato to fade acne and pimple scars by cutting off

a few thin slices and applying them directly to affected areas.

Alternately, you can cut thicker slices and apply the juice by massaging them over scars.

For best results, leave potato juice on your skin for at least fifteen minutes before rinsing

off with warm water.

You can do this up to once per day.

8.

Rose Hip Seed Oil.

Rose hip seed oil is in a class by itself when it comes to promoting naturally healthy

skin.

For maximum health benefits, be sure to use organic cold-pressed oil.

Apply this light-weight, non-greasy treatment once or twice each day to reap the benefits

of its essential fatty acids and high concentration of trans-retinoic acid – a natural form

of vitamin A found in rose hip seeds.

Try this 100% organic rose hip seed oil in conjunction with a derma roller to heal scars

even faster!

9.

Sugar Scrub.

For a more therapeutic way to heal acne scars, make yourself a homemade sugar scrub.

Sugar cane contains glycolic acid, another alpha hydroxy acid that removes dead skin

and promotes cell regeneration.

Simply mix raw organic cane sugar with virgin olive oil at a two-to-one ratio then add several

drops of organic lemon juice until your scrub is workable, but not too watery.

Apply sugar scrub to scars about once every two or three days.

Leave on for about fifteen minutes and remember to follow up with a good natural moisturizer!

10.

Vitamin E.

Probably the easiest way to use vitamin E for healing scars is to simply puncture the

end of a gel capsule and squeeze the contents onto your fingertip.

Apply the oil directly to scarred skin or mix it into your daily moisturizer to help

heal acne and pimple scars faster.

7 Home Remedies for Urinary Tract Infections - Duration: 8:08.

7 Home Remedies for Urinary Tract Infections.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the second most common reason people visit their doctors

each year.

Men get UTIs, but they are much more common in women -- more than eight million women

head to their doctor for UTI treatment annually.

And 20 percent of these women will get a second UTI.

If you've ever had a UTI, you'll probably never forget the symptoms.

It usually starts with a sudden and frequent need to visit the potty.

When you get there, you can squeeze out only a little bit of urine, and that's usually

accompanied by a burning sensation in your bladder and/or urethra.

In more extreme cases you may end up with fever, chills, back pain, and even blood in

your urine.

The good news is that there are many home remedies you can try to prevent or remedy

a UTI.

or other health care provider.

1.Baking Soda.

UTIs that last longer than two days require medical intervention.

Untreated UTIs can infect the kidneys and turn into a much more serious problem.

To help prevent a UTI from developing or nip one in the bud, try adding 1 teaspoon baking

soda to a glass of water as it may help ease your infection.

The soda neutralizes the acidity in your urine, speeding along your recovery.

2.Blueberries.

Blueberries and cranberries are from the same plant family and seem to have the same bacteria-inhibiting

properties.

In one study, blueberry juice was found to prevent UTIs.

Since you're not likely to find a gallon of blueberry juice at your local store, try sprinkling

a handful of these flavorful, good-for-you berries over your morning cereal.

3.Cranberry Juice.

Many studies have found that drinking cranberry juice may help you avoid urinary tract infections.

It appears that cranberry juice prevents infection-causing bacteria from bedding down in your bladder,

and it also has a very mild antibiotic affect.

Drinking as little as 4 ounces of cranberry juice a day can help keep your bladder infection-free.

But if you tend to get UTIs or are dealing with one right now, try to drink at least

2 to 4 glasses of cranberry juice a day.

If pure cranberry juice is just too bitter for your taste buds, you can substitute cranberry

juice cocktail . It seems to have the same effect as the pure stuff.

Take note: If you have a UTI, cranberry juice is not a replacement for doctor-prescribed

antibiotics in treating your infection.

4.Pineapple.

Bromelain is an enzyme found in pineapples.

In one study, people with a UTI who were given bromelain along with their usual round of

antibiotics got rid of their infection.

Half the people who were given a placebo plus an antibiotic showed no signs of lingering

infection.

Eating a cup of pineapple tastes good and may just help rid you of your infection.

5.Water.

If you tend to get urinary tract infections, be sure to drink plenty of water -- about

8 eight-ounce glasses a day.

You should be urinating at least every four to five hours.

If you are currently dealing with an infection, drink buckets of water to fight it off.

Drink a full 8 ounces of water every hour.

The river of water in your system will help flush out bacteria by making you urinate more

frequently.

You can also heat up some water on the stove and pour it into a hot water bottle.

Place the water bottle on your lower abdomen to help ease any pain caused by the infection.

6.Vitamin C. Some doctors are prescribing at least 5,000

mg or more of vitamin C a day for patients who develop recurrent urinary tract infections.

Vitamin C keeps the bladder healthy by acidifying the urine, essentially putting up a no-trespassing

sign for potentially harmful bacteria.

7.Do's and Don'ts.

-DO use it.

When you've got to go, go.

It sounds simple, but how many times have you held it -- when you're in a business meeting,

when you're stuck in traffic, when you're at a concert and the lines are too long.

If you hold your urine, you're more likely to get a backup of bacteria and end up with

an infection.

-DO consider cotton.

Anything that comes into close contact with any of those ultra-personal areas should be

cotton.

Women should wear cotton underwear or cotton-lined panty hose to help stay fresher and dryer.

Guys should go for boxer shorts.

-DON'T drink alcohol.

Alcohol is an irritant to your bladder, just what you don't need when you're dealing with

an infection.

-DO cut the caffeine.

Also avoid caffeine-loaded drinks such as caffeinated soda pop, coffee, and tea.

Caffeine can irritate the bladder, which is the last thing you need when a UTI has taken

hold.

-DO pull out a nonprescription pain reliever.

Taking acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or aspirin can help ease the pain during your infection.

-DO follow the rules for making love.

If you have trouble with UTIs, be sure you and your partner clean up before making love.

After you make love, head to the bathroom to urinate and get rid of any potentially

harmful bacteria.

And try using a condom instead of a diaphragm.

Diaphragms may promote UTIs.

-DO go with the flow.

After urinating, be sure to wipe from front to back to keep bacteria from getting close

to the urethra.

These home remedies can help you prevent a UTI or eliminate one already in progress.

However, be sure to check with your doctor, especially if a UTI lasts longer than two

days.
