alright guys so let's just start ATV not really feeling the ATV right now as you

saw earlier but it's super cute right so then we have this VTECH activity desk I

really like this because it has the chalkboard and a VTECH toy little drawing station

and then it also has the VTECH interactive learning part on there as well and then

we have this VTECH toy right here which I think I like the best a little toy soccer ball

basketball and it's also a learning little Center as well

and then she has this book and this book we have this one in English as

well she has her own little toy camera

she is in love with these building blocks they're gonna be all over the

house and then she has this Little Knicks jumpsuit because Papa Bear loves the

Knicks moving over here she's already like tore this thing up this little

Mickey Mouse toy tray comes with the markers and crayons and some coloring sheets and

we got this from the 99-cent store for six dollars there's a little toy train set

she loves toy at the moment oh and this right here this is a watch you guys

know she loves Minnie Mouse but look at this it's like a wrist so if it's

her tiny little wrist over here we have this fun little toy interactive book it has

like little tracks lots of little fuzzy slippers a Dollar Tree little polar bear

fur figurine panda book some more little toy plush doll babies she has her first

satin bonnet and a little toddlers travel pillow with this beautiful pastel

satin pillowcase her toy Daniels Tiger little trolley little Minnie Mouse toy

remote-control car and some clothes piled up there she also has a tent or a

little toy a little playhouse so it's in this tall giraffe box back there and

we'll put it up later yeah that's everything that she got along with like

some little small things oh yeah she has her first pair of earrings I don't know

where they are right now if you guys want to stick around I'll show you right

now what I got I got a six month subscription box from for

Christmas said I have the beauty won the snack line and there's a third

one lemon popcorn kernels Oh some dark chocolate

we'll open this one up this is the beauty bag these are the smash I have a

laptop bag I'm requested this a book bag style one that was like nice and sleek

and had like a slight vintage vibe to it so I'm super happy with that one I

really like it have some ideas you guys I am a huge adidas shoe I just love this

adidas shoe it is so comfortable and super cute color and then I just have some

thigh-high black boots in here they are just some casual boots that you could

dress up or dress down some flats and I really like these oh look at this well

let me show you the oh these are shoes she got she used from her Lola and Lolo

I got this it's a gimbal if you guys aren't like

really into tech things you probably don't know what it is but basically it's

a stabilizer I got tripod stabilizer so and then I

also have this which is gonna come in handy everywhere then you can put your

cell phone right there it's pretty cool but this right here is gonna jumpstart

my new years along with the other Dollar Tree items that I shared the other day

so we have a mat two yoga blocks a towel two towels and a strap in this set right

here so I'm excited to use this along with the Dollar Tree items in this box

did you do I have makeup you have some Becca makeup this is like my Holy Grail you

guys saw this in the chitchat get ready with me video than I did but it's the

back light filter primer I have I believe this is a mac cosmetics spice lip pencil yes

spice have some mac makeup prep and prime setting spring

some mineralize skinfinish which is basically powder setting powder some

foundation if you guys want to know more about what makeup I wear or like what

brands I support check out the get ready with me video because I explain my stand

on makeup and cruelty free products and all that other stuff so I'm sure people

gonna ask and have comments in this video this is lipstick so please refer

back to that video to get your questions answered so that's all the makeup we

have a another box oh you know what I think the like maybe

they have like a skincare subscription okay so I have beauty box coming in

every month snack box and a makeup box seaweed moisturizer hmm

interesting this is a green tea primer and this is

translucent powder wow it's like a color that might work for me since its

translucent that's the problem with a lot of these companies is that they

don't have stuff for a tone this is a lip tint and dusk it's like a

shimmery gold color and this last thing is a bit

of you eyeshadow halo wonder if I'll be able to wear that this was in

the first bag the makeup and snack bag and I had like so many makeup goodies

it's like Merry Christmas makeup overload oh let's just look on here and

see so we have some skincare some skincare skincare skincare and skincare

all right I serum can't wait to try then matte liquid lipstick who I might be able to

wear this love the packaging super cute

this is moisturizing oh this is leave-in conditioner coils oh what they have

natural hair products didn't see that coming like natural hair like curly hair

did not see that coming can't wait to try that oh I'm gonna try

this on right now ginger lemon lip butter there's gonna be a crazy six

months I'm like getting three different packs every month for six months I have

a pair of earrings as well but along with they're together somewhere

and I think this is the last thing for me here they are very simple and cute

also got some stuff from Bath and Body Works oh and the earrings are in here so

it's already got some cute little earrings and

I have some cute little earrings as well just like a little old-school

fragrances this one I've never tried this before body butter but the scents

are not new to me oh I love this smell and this little eucalyptus spearmint one

and just have a Wallflower

Bear he gave me this book this was the sweetest little thing ever it's like a

book and you fill out things like they ask questions and then you fill it out

this was a such this was such a sweet a sweet gift very nice very nice and

thoughtful love this I might even still this idea and give him something like

this yeah you like it

all right so here are some of Papa bear's gifts you guys know he's a tanker

so we got this from Dollar Tree little prayer book these candles that smell oh

my goodness you guys I love it love this one as well sorry made this or painted

this little tank for him at the arts and crafts center and this is just a

stainless steel spoon that says daddy's ice-cream plow engraved on it because he

loves ice cream and some socks some bath and Bodyworks lotion for men

and a body scrub some Clippers that he'll be returning and getting the ones

that he wants because I got the wrong ones a little pumice stone for his feet

beard balm no shave December and some oils some essential oils for this

diffuser for his office and then also from Bath and Body Works this back scrub

and he also has some clothes and polos and jeans and a few things from

forever21 that he picked out but um yeah those are

clothes and also got him dismal dollar dream and he has the Nintendo switch and

a nitendo switch game Oh and then over here have these headphones

for Xbox nitendo and then these are antique Spurs like I told you you know if you're

new we're military he's armor and these are some antique Spanish Spurs they look

really cool and I just put them inside the shadow box

you didn't plug it in yet just let her you used to it sorry see my oh I just

saw myself wait a minute so it's the next day and I just want to

Video Essay | SPL: Action as Conversation - Duration: 2:04.

Action scenes can be shot in many ways and over time

filmmakers have become more creative in how they show it.

But you don't always need long takes or elaborate camerawork to show off your big set piece.

Take for example this fight in Wilson Yip's 2005 film, SPL.

It's a scene that maximises the actors' performances

by using one of the oldest techniques in the book...

Shot/Reverse Shot.

From the moment the fight starts to when it ends

the scene is filmed like a dramatic conversation between two characters.

While you can argue the decision to do so boils down to its location in a small alley...

there is logic also to using shot/reverse shot for any close-quarter combat scene.

You're able to clearly present the actor and their actions to the audience.

You give the actors enough time to work their magic as performers.

And you're also cutting back to the opposite actor to capture their reaction appropriately.

When you film a conversation, you don't think about cutting on every second word that's uttered

nor are you looking to confuse audiences from all types of different angles.

SAMUEL L. JACKSON: So you shoot master, close, close... closer... over, over, over...

SAMUEL L. JACKSON: Make up your mind what you're going to shoot. See the movie in your head.

The only times this scene uses different angles

are when the camera is positioned over Wu Jing's other shoulder

and when both actors are side-on from the camera.

Shot/reverse shot also helps to give a nice break in between larger moments of action

helping to create further tension and anticipation for what the next move will be.

More and more we're seeing films rely on digital effects

and other filmmaking gimmicks to orchestrate big fights.

But action can still be exhilarating even when it's filmed and edited this simply.

After all, action creates drama so sometimes you're able to film it like one.
