US Sends B-1 Bombers Over Korea To Practice Destroying Missile Sites

By Jack Davis

The United States reminded North Korea of the weapons it has to attack the rogue nation

Friday as it sent two B-1 bombers into the air over the Korean Peninsula to conduct live-fire

drills.

The Guam-based bombers were joined by U.S. and South Korean fighters in an exercise that

simulated the destruction of an enemy ballistic missile launcher and underground facilities.

Japanese fighter jets also accompanied the American bombers after the drill was completed.

The Air Force, in a statement, called the mission a demonstration of the ironclad

U.S. commitment to our allies.

The exercise came days after North Korea successfully tested an ICBM that some experts say can reach

Hawaii or Alaska.

North Koreas actions are a threat to our allies, partners and homeland, said

Gen. Terrence O Shaughnessy, the Pacific Air Forces commander.

Let me be clear: If called upon, we are trained, equipped and ready to unleash the

full lethal capability of our allied air forces, he said.

South Korea and U.S. air forces will immediately respond to enemy provocation in any form,

anytime and anywhere, said South Korean air force operational commander Lieutenant-General

Won In Chu.

U.S. officials said the bombers practiced attack capabilities by releasing inert weapons

at the Pilsung Range.

South Koreas Yonhap news agency said the bombers flew along the Demilitarized Zone

between South Korea and North Korea before ending their 10-hour mission.

On Friday, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that if existing diplomatic efforts to

convince North Korea to cease its aggressive military program fail, there would not be

many good options left.

The U.S. also announced Friday that it will soon conduct a flight test of the Terminal

High Altitude Area Defense, which is designed to protect against short-range missiles.

The THAAD can be used to detect, track and engage a target in a test that will take place

near Kodiak, Alaska, officials said.

Why is Zhongguo called China in English? - Duration: 4:00.

Aww come on china let us in No

Come on… you won't let me in, you won't let the Mongols in, won't let the Jehovah's

witnesses in… come on let us in…

No ---INTRO----

China truly is a land of many names – but the main name for china in Chinese is Zhongguo

(中國/中国).

Chinese names for China, aside from Zhongguo, include the following: Zhonghua (中華/中华),

Huaxia (華夏/华夏), Shenzhou (神州) and Jiuzhou (九州).

while Han (漢/汉) and Tang (唐) are common names given to the Chinese ethnicity.

The first appearance of Zhongguo on an artefact was in the Western Zhou on a ritual vessel

known as He zun.

The word was formed by combining the characters zhōng (中) meaning "central" or "middle,"

and guó (國/国), representing "state" or "states,"; in contemporary usage, "nation."

And this is why china is sometimes known as the middle kingdom in English.

the name came from a time before china's unification under the Qin dynasty when china's

cultural centre was found in the central Yellow River valley.

And throughout the history of china this name changed its meaning continually and could

mean anything from the central Chinese territories to the capital of the emperor.

But by the late 19th century the term had emerged as a common name for the whole country

thanks to the Qing dynasty.

At this point you might be asking; if Zhongguo is the Chinese name for china, where did china

come from?

Well for to find out we have to go back to the 16th century.

English, most Indo-European languages, and many others use various forms of the name

"China" and the prefix "Sino-" or "Sin-" from the Latin Sina.

Sīnae was an ancient Greek and Roman name for some people who dwelt south of the Seres

(Serica) in the eastern extremity of the inhabitable world.

Europeans had knowledge of a country known as Thina or Sina from late BC

The English name for "China" itself is derived from Middle Persian (Chīnī چین).

The modern word "China" originated with Portuguese explorers of the 16th century.

It was first recorded in 1516 in the journal of the Portuguese explorer Duarte Barbosa.

The journal was translated and published in England in 1555

"China" and its related terms are derived from the society known as Qin, a state that

existed on the furthest west of China since the 9th century BC, and which later unified

China to form the Qin Dynasty

This is still the most commonly held theory, although many other suggestions have also

been proposed.

And you can see how modern names for china in various languages come from this name

So, to wrap things up: China is called Zhongguo in Chinese

Its name means middle kingdom Chinas name in Europe likely comes from qin

china And the Portuguese started the trend!

If your language has any different or strange names for china, why not let us know? and

there will be more what's in a word coming soon so stay tuned.

Thanks to everyone who translates the show!

Energy Update Cosmic Upgrades You Are Not Alone

by Morag,

The consensus on the cosmic cyber street is this wave is a doozie.

Intense shaking, sudden overwhelming need to sleep, low energy, aches and pains, blurry

vision and disturbed sleep (waking up at 2.22, 3.33, 1.23) are common symptoms of DNA upgrades,

recalibration, see 10 Signs you are experiencing recalibration of your mind body soul system

for more info.

Deeply buried emotions bubbling to the surface, triggered for karmic release, can overwhelm

us.

Our relationships go through great changes as we raise our frequencies.

Masks come off as our third eye is activated and we see people for who they truly are.

This can be a very upsetting and challenging part of the awakening process.

We can feel intensely frustrated by 3d conversations, increasingly preferring solitude.

Before we were concerned with social lives, friendship groups, family expectation and

cultural convention, matrix programming of what the perfect life should look like.

Awakening changes all of this, it expands our consciousness, mutes the ego and liberates

us from the limited rules and regulations of this reality.

We turn inward instead of obsessing about our outward lives.

We stop caring about what others say about us, we grow beyond convention and see a bigger

world.

Integrating upgrades whilst trying to stay on top of our everyday lives, can cause us

to feel irritable, tearful and off kilter.

We can feel lonely and disconnected, let down by people we thought cared more about us,

depressed by the state of the world and worn down by the daily demands of the matrix.

As we struggle to integrate higher frequencies and raise our own vibration to accommodate

further recalibration we reach out, looking for other awakening people.

The internet is our friend when we wake up, it is where we find information and other

people on this path to higher dimensions.

Gregg Prescotts In5D on Facebook, web, and is a brilliant source of knowledge about

this transformation on Gaia.

Michelle Wallings website and internet radio show offers tons of information on how

to exit the matrix, what is happening now and what is coming next.

Sacred Scribes is the best site on the web for the meanings of number sequences.

Higher Self on is the go to place for all things metaphysical, multi dimensional and

magical about the evolution of our planet and her people.

Cosmicgypsy333 will answer all your questions on soul tribe.

International Starseed Network has chat forums, discussion pages and more.

Quantum Healing Hypnotherapy, QHHT, is the best healing tool to answer all questions

about our origin, mission and personal journey.

Alternative healing therapies like reiki and sound healing will clear static from our energy

field and strengthen and balance our mind body soul system.

Meet Ups online is also a great way to find people at a similar stage and place as us.

There are loads of meditation, spiritual yoga and energy healing groups set up by lightworkers

keen to offer safe spaces for and healing.

The evolution of humanity, the activation of Enlightened Unified Consciousness is the

recalibration of our mind body soul system.

It is the Return of the Divine Feminine, the dismantling of the matrix programs of control.

It is freedom, liberation and enlightenment.

We are being offered the opportunity to access higher dimensions of existence.

Positive emotions emit higher wavelengths, we begin to ascend the frequency spectrum

of time and space in our universe.

Gratitude, compassion, laughter, joy, peace, empathy and love are all high frequency energies,

raising our cellular vibration.

We can become quantum beings by embracing this transition.

Dont feel alone.

Reach out.

Use cyber space as a library, a meeting place, somewhere you can take your matrix mask off

and be yourself.

Ask questions, engage with others, get regular energy updates, research the stuff that resonates

with you.

Energy, healing, intergalactic communities, the elite, how to unplug from the matrix,

its all out there in cyber space.

And for all the other growth and internal evolution stuff dont be afraid of solitude,

welcome it.

Use me-time for self care, self knowledge and self love.

We are all in this together, some are still very much asleep, others are denying or rejecting

the red pill, but there are more and more people waking up, coming online (energetically

and on the internet!).

Come join the cosmic recalibration party, its all about peace and love, maaaaan.

Take a seat at the table, all are welcome.

In love and light friends

Poland has a King? Beautiful Sandomierz... - Duration: 4:43.

Sandomierz!

We're in Sandomierz!

Sandomierz doesn't hold much importance in Poland nowadays

but back in the day along with

Wrocław and Kraków, it was I would say one of the most important cities on the count of the fact that the king...

of Poland used to chill here

If you come here in the beginning of July, not only do you get to see the beautiful city of...

Sandomierz, and Arisa

maybe not Arisa...

But also there's a knight festival where they celebrate knighthood

I mean on the surface it looks like being a king is a great gig

But then when you really think about it, all the babies you gotta great, and all the provinces and people you gotta visit

It's hard work man. It's hard work, and it's not very creative or inventive. It's just representative...

Not sure if I would like that

So of course there's a little market with traditional products, and then the highlight of the whole thing

I believe there's going to be some crownings

and lots of just

What should I call this... knight business

and of course since the king used to reside here, there is a castle

Queen of Poland, Elżbieta

Let's cheer!

Queen of Poland

King of Poland Władysław and królowa Elżbieta

So this city, beginning of July great time to come, you can can check out this event, it's held here every year

this year july 8-9

And the city looks great! It's right next to Wisła, Wisła turns besides Sandomierz

So it looks very picture picturesque

You can always go up the tower to get some nice views of Wisla and the whole city

Or you can just watch this movie and see my beautiful drone footage

but in any case... if you're here in this part of Poland, definitely do stop by

Sandomierz is a beautiful city! (Polish)

CRAZY PORTLAND ROBBERY STORY! - Duration: 5:51.

Hey everybody and welcome to the video.

So this is Josh here, and this is another episode of Walk with Me.

Today we are going to be talking about vigilante justice, video games, and taking control of

your life.

Let's get into it.

So how is everybody's week going?

Things have been going really well here.

All is smooth, all is quiet.

Things have been full-fledged summer mode here in Portland, Camille and I have just

been out and about.

We had that San Francisco trip a couple of week ago, that was really fun.

The video for that by the way should be up by next week I believe, so keep an eye out

for that.

We're thinking we might be going camping next week, I'm trying to figure out some of the

logistics.

That is the one negative about not having a car, trying to get outside of the city is

a little tough at times.

The car rentals are normally really cheap around Portland, but I think it's because

it's the tourist season, it's summer and it's been busier, the car rentals are normally

about $16-$17 a day, I just checked I wanted to go camping this week but I checked the

car rentals were up to like $80-$90 a day, which is just insane.

We just rented that car for the Bend trip last month, we spent $30 to have it for two

days which was awesome.

That's what made that trip possible, because it was so cheap so I'm trying to figure out

maybe some different ways we can get to some of these campsites, or a different car rental

company or something.

So I'm hoping we can go camping next week, but we will see.

Camille and I have actually been playing video games together the last few days, which has

been awesome.

We've been playing Lego Star Wars, I think this is the first video game we've ever been

able to play together for more than a couple of hours without getting too irritated at

each other.

We both get very competitive when we play, and I grew up playing video games so it's

second nature for me, the controller is an extension of my hand.

Camille was not nearly as nerdy as me growing up, she didn't play very many video games

when she was younger.

It usually ends up being no fun for anybody, because their aren't too many co-op games

anymore so we're usually playing versus each other.

That never ends well.

With my Xbox Live account I got Lego Star Wars, it's the first game we've been able

to successfully play.

One other crazy thing that happened the other day when we were out, we were out with a couple

of friends and we witnessed someone robbing a grocery store.

I shouldn't say we witnessed it, we actually witnessed we were walking through town near

the grocery store.

We saw a guy running with a handcart full of groceries and another really old guy chasing

him yelling 'Thief Thief Thief'.

So we ended up actually running after them trying to help out the old guy, we thought

it was the old guy's cart with all of his stuff and this guy just came up and grabbed

it and ran outside of the store.

So we catch up to him and they're both just walking side by side and they're all tired

and panting and just walking next to each other side by side.

The old guy's taking photos of the thief, so the thief ended up dropping the cart and

ran off.

So here's the part where it gets interesting.

So after that, we talked to the old guy, we were like 'Fill us in, what happened, what's

going on with all this, why were you chasing him?'

Turns out the old guy is just a customer of Safeway and he was trying to be a vigilante

of sorts.

Because we had asked him if he had worked for Safeway because that's what we assumed,

he was a Safeway Employee or something that was chasing after him.

And excuse my language, but he was a total dick.

He told us, he was like 'That's none of your business wether I work for Safeway'.

We were just trying to ask because we had came out and helped him and we wanted to get

the story to figure out why why, just what the situation was.

So he was being a really rude to us that we were asking after we had just helped him chase

down this criminal guy.

It turns out he finally copped up to it, he has a lady friend that works in the flower

section of the Safeway, and so he was trying to get it back just because he knew someone

that worked at Safeway and it was unjust.

So I think this old guy was chasing after him to try and woo a lady because this thief

had like $20 in groceries in his cart.

I understand and agree that that is not right, you should not steal, but also you don't want

to risk your life for a billion dollar company that doesn't care if they lose $20 of groceries

in the grand scheme of things.

So this guy risked his life to go get a cart of groceries that he had no stake in.

It wasn't even his own groceries.

So that was my big crazy story of the week.

Not much else has been going on, this nice weather really has been great.

Portland is a completely different city in the summer versus the winter.

Coming from Michigan, I never thought the winter would be a big problem, it's not, it

doesn't get very cold here.

Being outside and walking around in the slush and the cold and the wet it gets a little

gloomy so it's been really great to be able to get out and about in the city.

I just feel like lately more than ever I'm living a life that I couldn't have dreamt

of as a goal.

You know, it's just like weight loss.

If you want something better for yourself, or better for your life, or you want things

to be different, you gotta realize that you have control and you can change things and

you can make them better or more fun, or less stressful, or whatever you want them to be.

But that's going to wrap it up for this week.

Like I said, pretty quiet week but I thought it was a fun story to share.

Let me know down below what crimes have you witnessed, did you step in?

Did you leave it be?

I'd love to hear that, get a discussion going.

Make sure to like the video if you enjoyed it it helps me out a ton, and be sure to subscribe

if you want to see more, I put these out every Monday but I also have videos on Friday's

as well.

But until next time, I'll talk to you all later.

Have a good one.

Mom throws away everything that's not hers! [Hello Counselor / 2017.07.10] - Duration: 16:56.

Doesn't your father say anything about this?

I think he'd oppose this.

He has given up.

My older brother rebels against her the most.

He fought with her every day because of this

and ended up moving out 2 years ago.

Why did he move out?

- She threw his things away, too? / - Yes.

Let's meet him. He's next to your mom, right?

Nice to meet you.

Hello.

Did you really move out because of this issue

like your sister said?

No way.

I couldn't stand her throwing my things away.

So I moved out 2 years ago by getting

a part-time job and didn't get any help from them.

Didn't your mother oppose when you moved out?

I think she would've tried to stop you.

She didn't try to stop me at all.

She said "Move out. Do as you wish."

"That's what I want, too."

Maybe she said that because she was angry

that you didn't do as she wished.

Maybe that's part of it.

But she didn't call me for 4 months afterward.

I'm sure she was upset and worried.

So what happened in the end?

I got angry, too

so I decided not to call her either.

But in the end, I gave her a call

and said, "How could you not call me once?"

When was that?

A little more than 4 months after I moved out.

You're quite stubborn, too.

What did she say?

"No news is good news. Why bother calling?"

- She was quite irresponsible. / - I'm amazed.

Didn't you worry about your son?

Why live together when we can't get along?

He's an adult now.

A monk should leave if he doesn't like the temple.

So you don't care if your daughter moves out, too?

It's the same for her, too.

She's a grown-up so she can move out if she wants.

(Oh, my...)

You came out here because of the sunglasses.

What made your brother move out?

Why did you move out?

I grew up finding secondhand clothes

from the neighborhood clothing bins.

- Around the apartment. / - Because of his mom.

Your closet was a clothing bin.

(A funny but sad reality)

Did you ever find any clothes worth wearing?

Oh, these are nice.

I did find some clothes that looked fairly nice.

What did your mother throw away?

One time I bought a pair of jeans for $200

to wear them on my date with my girlfriend.

She threw them away?

I found out right before I was about to leave.

You should've run over to the clothing bin.

It was already empty.

Of course, someone took them already.

Because they're new.

People would love new clothes in a clothing bin.

I'm sure some people in that apartment complex

already wait for his mother to come out.

- Yes! There she is! / - I'm sure there are.

What else did she throw away?

When I was in the army, my girlfriend made

a photo album of us and sent it to me.

Oh my god!

She even wrote a letter.

I looked at them and sent them home.

My mom threw them away saying they're messy.

I couldn't tell my girlfriend what happened.

I heard that your mom even threw food away?

I like to take hangover drinks after I drink.

But they're never in the refrigerator.

Why would you throw food away?

The hangover drinks would have been new.

Does she drink them?

We sometimes order chicken and have leftovers.

It's gone the next day.

She often throws food away.

On my birthdays, I get cakes from friends.

Several cakes.

I once got 3 cakes and kept them in the fridge.

Mom threw them away for taking up space.

She's strange.

We have 3 refrigerators at home,

but all of them are empty.

You should throw the refrigerators away.

I hate it when my refrigerators are messy.

So when I open the refrigerator,

I like to see it empty.

What? You're supposed to fill it up.

Cakes block the view of the empty fridge.

Throw the refrigerators away then.

I guess she does like things clean.

What do you think?

I think mom is obsessive.

She turns the whole place upside down every day.

Every day?

Can you give us some examples?

Like cleaning behind the sofa?

She does that, too.

She likes to move the furniture around.

- She does? / - Often?

She does it until she's satisfied.

I had to move the furniture.

I would move the furniture around one week.

Then she says "I think it's better this way."

So I move them back.

Then she changes her mind again the next week.

So I just keep moving them around.

You did that every week?

Your place is like a moving center.

I did it because of the dust behind the furniture.

While I was at it, I wanted to rearrange them.

You can pull it out, clean

and then push it back in.

He's the one doing all the work anyway.

- Oh, my. / - You're lucky to have a son.

But he has moved out now.

Who does the work now?

I haven't been able to do it since then.

You don't ask your husband to do it?

He's too busy with work.

It's inconvenient that your son has moved out.

Can't you compromise and live together?

I thought about it,

but I don't want to change my lifestyle.

Don't you think you're a bit too selfish?

Yes. I admit that I'm selfish.

She always says this.

Everybody is selfish. I always come first.

She always says that.

Everybody is selfish. I always come first.

What if your daughter is selfish? Is that okay?

No, that's wrong.

What?

It's okay for you to be selfish but not her?

Why?

I know it's a contradiction,

but life is all about contradictions.

What are you talking about?

This is what I think.

She knows that she's selfish and

she has tried to change that personality,

but she can't.

She can't blame herself for it

so she's living the way she is now.

But she doesn't want that for her daughter.

I can tell that she knows it's wrong.

Is Shin Dongyeop right?

It's partially right.

But I don't want to change who I am.

When I first heard the story,

I thought she was being too harsh,

but now I think she's cool.

You're cool.

This is my territory.

If you don't like what I do, leave. That's it.

She's the boss.

What else does she do?

My mom likes accessories.

My boyfriend and I have matching rings.

She...

(Did that)

(end up being thrown away?)

She wears the ring herself.

(What is this?)

She's not cool. She's not cool at all.

She's totally cool. (I take it back!)

I have a ring

and it really looks good with hers.

So I wear her ring.

If you don't change now,

you won't be able to change forever.

My mom and I are going through the same thing.

She's over 70 years old and she won't change.

It always hurts me and causes us to argue.

I can't get closer to my mom.

I understand what you mean.

Tell me. I've been through the same thing.

You can tell me everything.

The reason I moved out is not just

because of her throwing my things away.

She's always right.

You can't talk to her.

She never listens to what I have to say.

I work at construction sites.

It would be nice for her to encourage me

by telling me to be careful or be safe.

She never does.

She says "What's so hard about your job?"

She doesn't like what you do.

She says "Let's see how well you do in life."

She hurt your ego.

Mom makes Donghwa and me

send her $1,000 each per month.

- For living expenses? / - Yes.

She said she would save the money for us.

I don't send her any money now.

But I did give it to her for about a year.

I don't know where all that money went.

I'm sure she didn't throw that away.

I've never seen a penny of it.

How much did you save up for your son?

I save $500 per month for each of them.

What do you do with the rest?

The rest is for me to spend.

Also, my daughter bought me a used car.

So I'm paying the monthly installments.

Ever since I was young,

I promised her that I would one day buy her a car.

One day, she told me that her car is too old

so I bought her a used car on an installment plan.

You're such a nice daughter.

You told her that you would one day buy her a car

and she told you to keep your word?

Yes.

How old were you then?

She always told me what kind of car she wanted.

- Your mom? / - Yes.

She's incredibly bossy.

- She's starting to look cool to me, too. / - Yes.

How much do you earn a month?

About $1,700 on average.

You give your mom $1,000 per month?

She takes more than half.

I trust that she's saving the money up for me.

We must talk about this here.

Your son said he's not paying you anymore.

You said you're saving $500 a month for him.

He's not paying me so I stopped, too.

Then what about the money you saved up until now?

I got it back.

You should return it to your son.

No, it's a payment for raising him.

If your son continued to give you money,

were you going to give it back in the future?

Sure. But since he stopped, I won't.

You heard you won't get that money back.

How do you feel?

I'm very much shocked.

I knew the money would be somewhere.

It's a payment for raising him. It's mine.

Donghwa continues to give me money,

so I'll give it back when she gets married.

So you're angry that your son stopped paying.

How dare you disobey me! That's what this is.

Sure.

Because of your tone, you seem a bit cold-hearted.

But I'd like to know how you really feel inside.

You may speak this way,

but you love your son and daughter, right?

Sure.

But you know that it is hard for young people

to earn $1,700, $2,000 a month these days, right?

Sure, I know.

What's mine is mine and what's hers is also mine.

Would you be happy if you're alone?

Without your son, daughter and husband?

No, I wouldn't be.

- You need your family then? / - Sure.

Then you should be nice to them.

I need them so I can be the boss.

Then what will you do if they leave you?

I think she's joking to be funny.

I think she got the wrong concept here.

That's not what her face says.

You don't truly feel that way, do you?

You're just pretending, right?

I'm not pretending.

It's true that I'm selfish.

I am a bit cold.

Your daughter is your precious treasure, right?

So why do you treat your treasure that way?

She's more important than your car, right?

She's the one who bought you that car.

I guess you're right.

If your daughter and son are obedient,

do you think that they love you?

I guess so.

But they might not really feel that way.

Don't you feel anything while discussing this?

Are you still adamant about keeping your ways?

I do think that I should change a little,

but it's not easy to change one's habit.

Everybody we meet in life is selfish.

But when we go home,

mom isn't selfish.

We can open up to mom and are glad that mom can

take care of things that I forgot to do.

But for her, she goes home and sees a selfish mom.

She has spent her whole day meeting selfish people

and she sees her selfish mom at home.

Then she can't help but lose her way.

There isn't a place for her where she can be

encouraged and feel love and hope.

You're not throwing away their things.

It's not just that.

You're ripping their hearts out at the same time.

Imagine that one day she gets fed up

and decides not to obey you.

Many years later, you will be old

and won't have the ability to earn money.

What if she decides not to help you out then?

That would be too tough.

What would you like to ask your mom?

Please don't throw away my things.

Please try to understand me.

I know you are dying to throw out

my stuffed animals and the letters from

my boyfriend who's in the army. Please don't.

At least wait until they break up.

Let's try to decide if this is a concern or not.

Why is it a concern?

This is just wrong.

Who else pressed the button?

Oh! I'm not supposed to press it yet?

I thought I was supposed to do it now.

I understand how you feel.

It's so frustrating that they can't talk to her.

I've seen many cases like this around me.

They miss their mothers, but

they get more upset after seeing their moms.

I hope it doesn't happen to you.

If you try hard, you can turn things around.

It's important to compromise with each other.

You're family.

I hope this program has helped you to change.

Press the button if you think this is a concern.

(What does the audience think?)

(Post any concerns you or anyone else may have)

(Log onto the TVUT application!)

Stop.

Would you like to say something to your children?

Thank you for growing up to be a good girl

even though I'm so selfish and eccentric.

I will do my best to discuss it with you

before throwing your things out.

Please say a word to your son.

The son that moved out.

I love you, son.

He smiled.

He smiled big.

Wait.

How old are you?

I'm 25 years old.

How do you feel about this big surprise?

I've never felt this way in my whole life.

Please say a word to your mother, too.

She even kissed you.

Look into her eyes.

- Look at her. / - Tell her your wish.

(He gets the courage and looks at her!)

(But it's too awkward...)

I don't express my feelings much either.

- You both need to try. / - Go ahead.

Mom.

(He courageously looks at her again!)

Mom, since you said you'll express your love more

from now on, I will try to do so, too.

You know that I love you, right?

Wire that money to my account later.

Please show us how many votes they got.

I wonder how many votes they got.

(It ends with 5)

(How many votes did they get?)

(They got 155 votes)

Today in Military History: 7/10 - Battle of Britain begins - Duration: 1:09.

- Today in military history, 1940.

The Nazis launched the first bombing attack

on Great Britain.

Just one month prior, a defeated France signed an armistice

leaving the United Kingdom alone against

the German war machine.

Wanting to capitalize on his momentum,

Hitler set his sights and his Luftwaffe

across the English Channel.

That first day, 190 German bombers and fighters

struck British military targets,

but the Brits fought back.

Over the next three months,

a strong air defense system, a robust air force,

and even the aluminum pots and pans from British citizens

would deliver the Luftwaffe a near lethal blow

from which it would never fully recover.

The British victory was decisive,

but the losses were staggering,

including 40,000 British civilians who were killed

during the city bombing raids known as The Blitz.
