Hello there. Oh my God!
We're going to be learning the art of tease.
I pick mine up and it was really skimpier. Oh, major freak out.
You are going to be going out onto the landscape of London nightlife.
I've never done sexy sort of things like that.
After contending with an unfigured location challenge, the twins were eliminated.
You're actually going to be working in pairs and you're working against each other.
Today the ladies must put their differences aside and work together if they want to move on in the competition.
We're brought to this pond, which is this park, which is near Clapton Pond and where the task was going to be revealed to us.
I thought it might be street style spotting so I was like, "Yes! I'm on boots today."
I just saw the water and I saw boats and I thought, "Oh my gosh! We're going to have
to do like a fashion piece in the water or something."
And I honestly thought we were going to go on canal boat, swimwear,
do something like fashion fishing or something.
And we get there and we see, oh there's this clay, there's a very smartly dress man there, Matthew Zorpas.
Hello Girls, my name is Matthew Zorpas. I'm a creative consultant here in London.
I'm also the founder of the gentlemanblogger.com which is a new platform discovering new men's wear for designers.
He's like the most fabulous person on the planet. His outfit was so good I've never seen
anybody wearing anything like that before in my entire life.
Like this is a little Monday afternoon and he's super dress up like head to toe black like really smart.
And I'm here to present you the challenge of this week.
This week challenge is for you to discover a secret location here in London.
It needs to be inspired and fit into one of the new generation designers that you would be wearing.
Oh can't wait, can't wait.
You will be able to report something that you don't like. You will be able to report something that you're actually not fancy wearing and
that something that you will need to appreciate too.
See the thing with the task is they're always quite difficult because they're
always quite open ended. The brief is always quite vague.
But being completely honest, I don't really understand I was a bit confused.
I will take you around and show you some of the new generation designers that I chose for you.
For this week challenge we need to work in pairs. Two of you would be
wearing the same designer and you will need to go together and discover this new place.
You will need to do the management, the PR, the
marketing and also write the text for your presentation of this new place.
How is this going to work?
The first design that I'll present to you for this week's challenge is Natalia Rios.
The two main designers work together based in Cyprus but they're very famous here in London and in Paris as well.
One of the most famous technique is their knitwear as you can see and the use of color. The second designer for this week is Ada Zanditon.
Ada is based in London as she graduated from London college of fashion. She's famous for her ethical fashion and fashion illustrations.
The final designer for this week's challenge is Kirsty Ward. Kirsty graduated from Central St. Martins when she's based in London.
She worked with Alberta Ferretti but in 2010 has launched her own line. She's famous for using mismatch materials but also recycled materials.
So the pairs for this week's challenge are
Stef and Stephanie.
Oh my God.
You will be wearing Natalia Rios, the designer's famous for their knitwear and metallic colors.
When they said Stef, I was really shock because we could not be anymore different.
The second pair Rebecca and Judy. You will be wearing Kirsty Ward the designer famous with the mismatching materials.
Kirsty Ward's stuff is amazing. I particularly like her accessories and Rebecca is probably one of the strongest girls in the group.
And the final pair Esther and Racquel. You're going to be wearing a Ada Zanditon, the designer famous
for her ethical fashion and fashion illustration.
You have only two days to complete the challenge. You will need to discover a hotspot here in London
that matches the dress and the outfit that you are wearing.
Remember all the inspirations of the young designers that you are presenting.
I think now, everyone's got their affiliations like especially being paired up.
Think behind closed doors there's a lot of whispering and a lot of psss, psss, psss...
Up next the team challenge versus the contestant's fashion IQ to the test.
Ok, so this is the location. So, what else? We could…
I quite like the idea of outside putting for the fact that we can get kind of nature and industrialization combined.
Yes.
So do you think we should like go big and trying to get the Olympic stadium.
I'm quite not a darling, so.
I would say you're colorful than Stephanie. You know, there's lot of people, let's put it that way.
Do you think? Yes.
Really. I mean you allow me to talk when I talk.
Oh yeah. There's a difference is other people they're good but when I talk, it's gone.
And we lift on our food and, "oh well let's have a look if there's a showroom nearby of Kirsty Ward's
stuff." We looked on her website and, "Oh there's one in London. Maybe we should drop by and see if there's
anyone in there." So we went all the way to Kentish town, rang the doorbell, waited for a few minutes.
And learn behind who opens the door Kirsty Ward herself, which is fantastic.
We got actually have a chat with her and her inspirations, her designs and what kind of things she's been into.
I can't believe we met her. I know it's incredible isn't it.
We've got ours. Lucky we got with Kirsty Ward by the way.
I know, I just… I want her stuff so much.
I don't think any of the girls would get the initiative to do that at all.
I don't think so at all. I think they're going to do something really obvious.
I just love the way with her designs in which we are saying that she takes inspiration from like constructions…
Sci-fi
Sci-fi and architecture and she's really into layering but nothing is ever that obvious.
It's always very simple and she's all about contradictions so I think we need to incorporate talent on what we are doing.
So I think that inspired us as well and I said, "Oh, I have an idea for this kind of location," and she said, "Oh that's fantastic.
That's a really good idea." It was originally Aladdin's cave, which was this big kind of junkyard.
This place is crazy but I think that's good. It is a hidden gem.
Yeah.
I think it's a hidden gem.
It's not something you think, "Oh! Why would I go there?" No.
It's something that people who are in to that sort of thing would know about.
Yeah definitely. And with our outfits.
It's going to be matter of how good these pieces. It's going to be a matter of how we do this.
Yes. It's up to us and we can't get complacent.
No, because I think easy. I know the judges would be, "Ah Judy, Rebecca you're too complacent."
Rebecca and I both have very dumb personalities. We're both be quite vocal.
I know you did think out of the box.
And as well for the other girls are really coming back fighting this week I mean a couple
of them have had some quite negative comments and like they're ready to bring the clothes.
I just want to know what are the girls doing. I know. What do you think they're doing?
I think Esther, Esther is the one to watch this week. She has come back fighting.
She is fearless this week.
I mean her style has literally transformed in the space like a day.
Stef and Steph would do a nightclub. I'll put money on that.
Do you think so? Yes. I'll put money on that. Yes.
I don't know those. I'm too curious. I'll buy you a coffee if I'm right. If you're right.
I think like we definitely made a bad decision by coming here and like
have no good collections so we can get an idea of what's about.
I think we can get more inspiration and see how we can let the location just talk for itself.
I have a good stuff out and I think she's just totally innocent.
She just got this kind of child like quality about her where, you know, the children
everything seems so beautiful and everyone is living in happy land.
So like from that, what kind of things that when you look at these outfits,
what kind of locations come in to your head?
It is so weird but because of the metallic on the dresses I know it's so crazy,
but I was thinking of like a disco kind of thing because like of the disco kind of ball or something
Can you imagine like a design a couture dress like skating around and
round and back and I was like we can't do that Stephy.
I was thinking something like an art gallery.
But then I think that art gallery is too boring for it because, as well, I don't wanna be standing there looking like some clowns.
So we needed something that was calf and half and something that we both were happy with and were both agreed on.
I'm feeling nervous about this challenge.
I'm really nervous because it's nerve rocking because with the other challenges we all knew that we're
going to different night clubs so we kind of knew what is about but with this the other teams could be doing
anything and I'm just a little bit worried that we might be completely wrong.
Yeah but we're team Stef which means team fabulous tonight.
Now I'm so happy that it was Steph like I couldn't been happier.
I guess it was a nice balance and even though this is like a ten-year gap between me and Esther,
I think we still work quite well considering that we're so different.
Hello I'm Esther Sheppard.
And I'm Racquel Stewart.
And we're reporting for Fashion One about the importance of ethical clothing in the fashion industry.
Ethical fashion has come along way in the past decade. It'd never been more fashionable,
accessible and wearable.
It was quite last minute. We didn't have a day, so to get three interviewees
I thought that was quite good.
You do designs for the Nancy Dee collection and tell me about your fabrics and where they come from?
Because everything at Nancy Dee is made from a sustainable fabrics,
which means we use bamboo, organic cotton, Modal.
Ok. So Leila you are spokesperson for trade correct?
Yes.
And so can you please tell me what trade actually represents?
Yes. It is up to Racquel in the day to be as strong as she needs to be
but maybe it would just be easier to let me talk.
Now ladies we mustn't forget we got two fabulous outfits here. Ms. Tamsin,
talk us to this amazing outfit. I understand this already been through a war?
It has been. Yes.
I don't want the judges to be watching at long silences because there's nothing more boring
than long silences and I think that's what happened. I tried to bridge that gap.
So Sephilia yours is more everyday wear.
Is that kind of what Natsy Dee kind of stands for, more everyday kind of?
Sorry my name is Seraphina and it's Nancy Dee
Due to the fact that everyone makes mistakes and obviously it wouldn't…
because it wasn't live. It could have got cut.
We hope you enjoyed our sneak preview into Fashion One's ethical clothing.
Looking great and saving the planet is a win-win situation.
That's right. I'm Esther. And I'm Racquel.
See you next time on Fashion One.
Went to Lewisham, got to Aladdin's cave and the kid just have a major freak out.
It was just nightmare, so obviously then we went, we leftt Aladdin's cave
and gee now we just rocking our brains about places and then I was like "boom",
The penny dropped for location. I wanted them done and ran them.
Hello. I'm Judy. And I'm Rebecca.
And you're watching Fashion One.
Buckle up because today we're going to be showing you one of London's best top secrets.
A true hidden gem. Welcome aboard.
In MW Nails.
Now nail art has taken the fashion world by its storm in 2012. All the celebrities
from Beyonce to Gaga to Katy Perry, all donning the trend.
And today we are here in Spitalfields Market just a stone stroll away from London's famous Brooklyn.
We're both this potential here for major clash like let's not play into this.
Let's just like work as a team. We swim as a team. We sink as a team.
I personally love all the plane essence like the departure lounge
and all the name themes and the designs like holiday destinations.
What is MW nails famous for? What's your signature design?
It has to be the Captain's cockpit. The cockpit?
There's a Captain's cockpit! Describe it to me.
So it's our signature manicure treatment, which obviously includes the 14-day polish,
you know, you can have a Shellac here.
Oh that's fantastic. Yeah.
Thank you so much for flying MW nails we hope you enjoyed your flight and on behalf of the Captain,
crew and of course, all of us here at Fashion One, we look forward to see you again soon.
Bye.
Hello fabulous Fashion One friends. Today you're lucky, as you don't have 1 but 2 scoops' Stef.
Now we've been scouring the streets of London to try and find you guys an exclusive location
that's not only beautiful and innovative, but it's right in your doorstep without you even knowing.
This is going to be not a piece of cake but a piece of nice cake maybe.
As working with you a lot of young and upcoming designers.
Do you think they could come here and be inspired by the heritage for their fashion collection?
Oh absolutely. As the designers if you look at the colors
or the textures and the materials, it kind of bop inspired people.
I feel like a million pounds.
Dominic as a photographer, in terms of location, like would you want to shoot at East London to get inspired?
Yeah completely. I mean East London is, Hamlets the one of the most amazing locations in London
So we were like on top of the world. Really happy.
And Andria we know that you are really knowledgeable on vintage fashion,
which this area is particularly known for.
Why do you think is making such an influence back in today's fashion?
All the designers are doing like a flash back to past decades like 60's, 70's, 80's
and they're getting like their patterns and designs from there and they get a lot of inspiration
and influence from that, the past decades, so I really think it's becoming like really important.
Thank you all so much for your time and we met today. It's been absolutely amazing.
Yes, it has been.
This house is one of prettiest houses in London.
It's managed to keep its original charm while having slight under tones of gothic inspiration.
It's such a beautiful location and full of original designs and it's so extraordinary
that we found it and the city is a mere background from.
We hope you enjoyed this location as much as we've enjoyed it and trying to discover
why East London is so influential to London's fashion.
But sadly that's all we've got time for so thank you so much for tuning in.
You've been watching Stef and Steph. Catch us next time on Fashion One.
After the break the judges take aside as the collect of opinion ignites the church of fashion.
Girls, welcome back to the church of fashion.
I'm fashion writer and presenter Antonia O' Brien and also on the judging panel
is the brilliant Norwegian fashion designer Fam Irvoll.
The gentleman's blogger Matthew Zorpas and fashion creator Nik Thakkar.
So this week, your third challenge was to go off in pairs and produce,
research and present your very own fashion feature for Fashion One with the designs supplied
for you by Matthew. So this is where we really want to know
how it went for you. So can you tell us in your pairs starting with Stef and Stephanie. How did it go?
I thought it went really fantastic. I think a Stef and Steph is like a good luck charm
because we just went together so well and the location as well.
It was beautiful. I think we were really lucky.
We really enjoyed ourselves and I was so proud on what we achieve.
And Racquel and Esther? We enjoyed it, haven't we?
Yeah, we're happy about what we got to put together at the end we got no plenty of time.
We worked pretty well with what we got.
Yeah we sort of like…
Judy and Rebecca.
We thought it's a disaster but we did great.
We ended up with what we're both really happy with.
I think there was something over not seing them yet today and then you see them and like ok.
Yeah let's do this.
Just get ready Judy for some butchering. There will be a blood bath.
Ok so we watched the clips, so what do we think?
I really, to be honest, I'm sitting on the fence about pretty much all of them.
Because I feel the six of them and they're all really strong.
Let's start with Esther and Racquel.
As for Esther, in terms of representing the designer, they're presenting the outfit
that she was wearing I think she was the one that it wasn't that presented that well.
But the thing is do we think is it that Esther over powering or Racquel's just not fighting.
I really like Esther. I think she's an excellent presenter.
She doesn't pull of glamorous or chic at all, to me, it's kind of doubty.
She needs a bit of va-voom I think She's a sex up. Something missing.
So our issue with Racquel, I don't always understand everything that she's saying.
I don't think she's very eloquent and I think that came through particularly
when she mispronounced the name of the designer and the collection.
She called the collection the Natsy Dee collection.
That's so wrong.
I don't think she's very sophisticated and that is something I'm looking for
I want a fashion savvy woman. Ok, the really strong force that is Rebecca and Judy.
I to be perfectly honest. it was their worst performance today.
I agree. Do you think?
Yeah.
They didn't even talk about of what they were wearing at all.
No it was completely unrelated.
The designer was interesting for me because the designs were inspired by un-matching materials.
So if they talk about unmatched element of maybe the spot that they selected quite actually work.
Judy is quite aggressive. I've never noticed it until this week. She got this look in her eyes.
Because she wants it really bad. Yeah.
I mean she's even…
If she wants to be cut through about getting to the final, then she has my full support.
Stef and Steph.
Out of all three duos. Stef and Stephanie had the best energy between them and the best balance.
And it's apparent today you can tell they become friends.
I think Stefanie outshined the scoop. Yeah.
I mean that's really hard because Stefanie I think is very good for the Fashion One brand.
She's beautiful girl but she's also got that gorgeous like bubbly, funny, boys will like her, girls will like her.
Stef, I think was the one that with her posture was…she actually sat down the place,
I think the whole outfit went messy and she was not concern about how she look.
Ok guys what do we think about this challenge?
I think it was, it was a good one this week.
We've got to see even more of the girls getting to know them even better
and some are outshining others.
I think we've got already good final four.
Are we sure about this then? Yes.
Yes.
Stay tuned and find out which potential correspondents will make the final four?
Hi girls, welcome back to the church of fashion.
The judges and myself have deliberated and we have decided who will not be going on to the next stage
of this competition so let's start with Racquel and Esther.
So I thought it was a very coherent interview. You did seem to work well together
but I wanted you to fight a little bit more because it felt like Esther
kind of was a stronger force and we didn't see enough of you.
I don't think you're necessary that eloquent when you are presenting.
Esther on the other hand you're an excellent presenter.
I kind of think you stole the show and as you guys were doing as a duo
you should've been to bring out the best in each other.
Well, I may say I wasn't bored, but I think you outshine, Racquel a little bit.
I was a bit disappointed by you actually today.
I like the presentations of the clothes. Well, you both rock the outfits very, very well.
I like the walking through the first minute of the video just Ethical fashion is quite an issue
that bores people especially because of the TV,
so I think you needed to chop up that story maybe with a background or maybe with people
that they were not that relevant to Ethical fashion to make the story more interesting.
Thanks girls.
Next we got the double Stephanie team.
I want to start by saying I love how what good friends you two have become because
think that's so cool out of all the couples you supported each other and I think that is brilliant.
And you guys are great together. I really miss the Stef that I saw in your interview in your first audition.
You were like I was almost like watching a completely different person
and it's that person that I fell in love with. I just don't see it coming out anymore.
I did also miss the old one. You need to come back.
I'm trying. The really sassy scoop.
She's in there. Well where is she? Bring her out.
What it was missing in terms of the challenge that we put last week
I think you do not have the time to show much of the place as you had three people to interview.
Stef. You were really looking wonderful in that dress but then when you walk into the room
and you sat down, I think just you got posture make the dress, it was subtle.
It was like, "Oh my God! Is it the same image that they had like two seconds ago?
Well, you have three elements that you need to: wet your lips, you're standing with your shoulder without…
it's certain tricks that you do in front of the camera but it needs to be constantly over time.
Thank you girls, please sit down. Thank you.
And finally Rebecca and Judy please.
So girls by your own admission you are both strong characters and big personalities in this competition.
I loved, we disagreed on this, but I loved the location.
I did think you manage to kind of weave in the fashion with your location saying when wearing this
designer what should I do, the manicure…I thought you did a good job.
Judy I find you quite a bit cold sometimes and you're not a cold girl
so I know you really want this and I think that ambition comes across
but you just want to make sure that your softness comes across as well.
So both of you won last week and the week before this competition,
so you'd think it would really be a strong pairing.
It was kind of difficult to watch and to put it nicely,
the structure was an odd setup the way you guys were sitting,
if you're watching it you can't tell who was actually being interviewed.
There was no structure or level of interest, sort of evolved
from what you were talking about and there was a lot of potential then.
You two are both ridiculously good-looking and ridiculously smart
and I thought you could have done a better job.
For me I was a bit disappointed this week. I mean you did a good job Rebecca.
I think you were a bit quiet you went sort in the background just bubbling away,
I don't know. I felt like I was in the pub and just listening to someone talking.
It wasn't very structured at all.
I think for me, you are both very loud personalities just seeing you,
not even when you open your mouth and doing an interview,
I see you as a very loud and very powerful personalities and walking the selection of the place was a bit random for me.
The designers and the clothes disappeared in the place. The designer didn't even get to be mentioned and we didn't even see the full outfit.
So the presentation for me was a problem.
Girls if you'd like to all come forward please.
Rebecca
sit down you're still in the competition.
Stephanie
the judges thought you are fantastic this week.
You won the challenge and you're still in the competition. Please sit down.
Thank you.
Esther
sit down you are still in the competition.
So that leads us for three girls, two of which will be going home today.
Steph
could you please leave the church of fashion.
Even though I'm now out of the competition,
I feel like I've been able to show off myself and hopefully,
you know, just by getting this far because I really didn't even think how to make it through casting process, so
I feel like this is just a start of wonderful things for Steph Scoop.
So one of you girls is still in the competition and the other is joining Steph as well.
Racquel
if you'd like to leave the church of fashion.
So Esther did speak quite a lot and I don't really want to butt in just in case.
It doesn't like we weren't really working together.
Judy
we thought this week you seemed a bit frosty and we think you've got a wonderful potential
so please take your sit you are still in the competition.
This is really hard which is such a cliché but it really is.
So now there's four more girls and we will see you back next week in the church of fashion when the competition continues.
If you'd like to go.
Thank you.
Good job! Yehey.
Good luck to the rest of you. I mean Thank you.
I know you guys will be great. Give me a hug Esther.
You guys have to keep us posted. I knew that I did as well.
Well done you lovely girls.
We will see you back next week in the church of fashion.
Next time on Fashion One Correspondent Search London Edition: the ladies are confronted with the greatest challenge yet.
I wasn't that captivated by you.
Your fashion knowledge isn't there.
