Waching daily Jul 30 2017

Hi I'm Denny Kurien and I'm going to show you how to design a logo for an Interior Design

firm.

Metford Design Consulting is an Interior Design firm that specializes in workplace and office-space

design here in Canada.

They've been in business for 30 years, however their logo hasn't changed much since then.

They wanted a branding that was more contemporary.

Under new management, it became Metford Design Consulting.

We then decided to substitute the Papyrus font for a san-serif font that was a little

bit more contemporary.

We then enclosed the logotype within a boundary, to resemble that of an interior design floor-plan.

This is the first logo option we came up with, which we call The Plan.

For the next logo option, we started with a 3D perspective, out of that we formed this

logo mark.

Which when de-constructed formed the letters M, D, C - Metford Design Consulting.

For the next logo option, we went straight for the accronym M, D, C - we then combined

these letters to form shapes, using different colours.

For the final option, I was inspired by this contemporary looking work-desk.

The 3 dimensional perpendicular shapes formed that of an M, which would symbolize Metford.

Think maybe a couple of days. Maybe if a week or two since I last last uploaded this game

But at the moment. I'm competitive. I haven't actually won a game yet. So my plan is to

Play the healer Mercy and just heal everyone else so they can win me the game because I can't tell anyone

I could have died that was literally the worst time for the dyke. See that shows how much I'm contributing the second I die

we lose just saying I'm just saying and

Gigi in the Mercy did good, but she did not use her off

time

When you all die as my team Sophie at me

But it's okay as long as they carry me to victory. I don't mind being salty at me you know

But will we just I mean not to be pessimistic, but we are just gonna lose our way

Yay

losing again for

losing again is

so much fun

Alright, hopefully we actually get carried in this game. Hey. Oh my God. We actually catch the objective

Maybe this will work this time boop boop

Dodging things like a Madman look at this

Two more I've gone up for life. That's right. Ha ha ha

How was one person on our team? Just captured the objective on the road against four enemies?

The enemy is just not taking the point well. I do not was gonna kill up and walk away. Oh

My God that was close that was so clutch oh

My load, we bad

Can we all spree sure how close that was like?

I'm not going on a bit, but how clutch was that come on people come on. What we would?

Yeah boys were actually winning two rounds to zero

Like, what is this I?

Might finally gonna win a game. Oh, God. I'm totally gonna die they've got it. No they got it

Oh for God's sake all right there. We go. See me single

I've got the point totally was nothing to everyone else killing everyone else point has been

Captured and proper high for now because you might actually win one nice. Oh my God. I'm reviving people

Oh my God jess people have been saved. I have clutched by just simply pressing the button

This is how they carry with no scale this is how to you know to climb the ladder?

It was very little skill my smoke our commanders Cornelia, please. Thank you, or should I say drive around this corner? Haha

oh

Come on. This is a final battle no

I'm gonna die no no please don't die people please win, please please win, please win, please

I need a win so badly please please please please

Finally we win a game. Oh

Yes, isn't taking everything like licks match it, then finally win a game, okay?

John Frusciante Interview About his Gig with Michael Rother and Josh Klinghoffer - Duration: 3:37.

Los Angeles, Sunset strip

many fans are waiting for an unique event

John Frusciante, guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers

and Michel Rother, co-founder of Kraftwerk

come together on stage

for a rock and electronic performance.

For a long time we've been talking about

how great it would be

if we were together on a stage

and if we could be his backing band.

He liked the idea very well

and so, you know, we talked about it a lot

and then we started to decide what songs

me an Josh just learned other songs

we did three, two rehearsals

same year they were together on stage in Hamburg

at the end of a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert

when Michael Rother joined them for a big jam session

a memorable encore

To have someone like Michael

who is a big part of computer music technology

producing for a long time good electronic music

is just great

it adds a lot to the music we are playing

I think if my music had also been made in 1971

and, you know

it would be exactly the same as it is now.

Live English Lesson - SUN 30th July 2017 - Learn to speak English - lies - grammar - recycling - Duration: 2:03:25.

yeah here we go again

it's a Sunday afternoon here in England I don't know what time it is where you

are because I'm not there hello and welcome hi everybody this is mr. Duncan

in England how are you today are you okay I hope so are you happy I

hope so so here we go again it's another live

English hasn't the week gone quickly it's gone so fast

I can't believe how fast this week has gone on Tuesday I thought the week was

going slowly but then on Thursday I thought the week was going very quickly

isn't that strange so here we are all together and I'm a little bit annoyed

today because I haven't had a good shave I haven't had a very good shave I always

like to have a shave on a Sunday morning I like to shave my face so I look all

lovely and smooth but today I I don't feel as if I've had a good shave

I'm sure the men will understand what I mean and maybe some women is will

but today I don't feel as if I've had a good shave some days some days I have a

lovely shave it feels as if my face is like a baby's bottom

but today my face feels a little bit rough even though I've had a shave do

you know what I mean I'm sure many many men will understand what I mean unless

of course you have a beard in which case you might not know so here we go it is

Sunday it is the end of July tomorrow is the last day of July it's almost time to

say goodbye to July it's almost time to say to tart to July August is just

around the corner and of course August well for me August is a special month

because it's my birthday in August so on the 12th of August I know this is very

shameless promotion and it does appear it would appear as if I'm trying to get

you to send me gifts and cards but it isn't it's nothing like that

I'm just mentioning because it's an interesting fact that on August the 12th

I will be another year older so on the 12th of August it is my birthday I won't

be with you on my birthday I'm very sorry about that I know last year I did

my livestream last year on my birthday but this year we won't be but I will be

with you on the day after my birthday so my birthday is on the 12th of August and

I will be live on YouTube the following day on the 13th of August don't forget

you can catch me here every Sunday I am live on YouTube every single Sunday from

2:00 p.m. UK time and here we are once again I think today was I on time today

I was actually on time normally I'm two or three minutes late

but today I was actually on time in fact I'm going to write that down because

that's a very memorable moment Sunday the 30th of July mr. Duncan was actually

live on time oh there we go I will remember that moment forever so

what's coming today well in a moment I will tell you because we have lots of

things to come today we have so many things and at 3 o'clock today we have a

special guest in the studio Oh My giddy aunt so we have a lot of things to come

this week I've been very busy I went to visit my mum during the week I went to

see my mummy thanks to all those who asked about my mother I get a lot of

people writing to me asking how my mother is my mother is okay thank you

very much I went to see her now when I arrived at my mum's house during the

week I went to see her and outside was her dustbin the place where she puts all

of her rubbish and inside there was a piece of wood inside the dustbin now the

reason why the bin was outside her house was because it was being collected to be

emptied but can you believe it the people who take the rubbish away they

refused to take it they refused because there was a piece of wood inside the bin

so they rejected it and can you believe it they also took a photograph of the

inside of the bin I'm not joking this really did happen so

a question that I would like to ask today do you think it is fair to enforce

recycling now I can see why they did it because they don't want the piece of

wood inside the bin they want it to go to a place where it can be recycled but

do you think it's fair to to enforce to force people to bully

them into recycling their old junk what do you think so that's what happened

this week I arrived at my mum's house and the bin was still full and inside

there was a piece of wood so the dust men the refuse collectors refused to

take the rubbish away because there was a piece of wood inside the bin so what

do you think should we enforce recycling should we make people recycle even if it

means refusing to empty their bins so what do you think about that so that was

what greeted me the other day when I arrived at my mother's house also this

week I had to have my chimney swept the chimney at the top of my house had to be

cleaned now this is something that we used to see a hundred years ago or even

two hundred years ago people would come in clean your chimney and about 150

maybe 200 years ago they used to send children up into the chimney to clean

the chimneys can you believe it could you imagine if that happened now if we

sent children up into the chimney to clean them so that I had that done this

week it sounds like something that you don't do anymore it sounds like a

profession that doesn't exist but it still does exist there are still people

who clean your chimney but it sounds very old-fashioned doesn't it it sounds

like something that people don't have anymore

or they don't have done but people here in the UK still have their chimneys

swept another profession that sounds out of date is cobbler do you know what a

cobbler is a cobbler is a person who repairs shoes now you would think that

nowadays there aren't cobblers but there are

there are still cobblers in existence and they fix or they mend your shoes so

in your shoes become worn they will mend them and they are called cobblers

cobblers is also a very rude word but I won't tell you why and I won't tell you

what it means not today anyway also the ongoing saga concerning my new

neighbor now the person who lives next door to me

they recently sold their house so now the house has been sold but I'm now

waiting for the new neighbor to arrive but it hasn't happened yet so still

there is no new neighbor living next door to me still nothing but as soon as

I find out I will let you know ok ok so what is coming today we have lots of

things we have the live chat we have some excerpts from my full English

lessons don't forget I have lots and lots of lessons on my youtube channel

and all of my lesson playlists are under this video so all of my lessons

everything that I've made during the past 10 years yes 10 years I've been on

YouTube for over 10 years I am one of the original youtubers did you know that

and Here I am still doing it in fact in October it will be my 11th

year on YouTube so now I've been making my videos for nearly 11 years on YouTube

can you believe it and I'm still here doing it so if you want to watch any of

my lessons you can find all of the playlists under this video and of course

I also have a YouTube channel the YouTube channel is on your screen

now a lot of people ask why do you call it Duncan in China now the reason why I

call it Duncan in China is because I created this channel whilst living in

China so that's the reason why Oh yesterday yes today

mr. Steve and me we did something lovely yesterday do you want to see what we did

yesterday we went for a lovely walk into town yesterday and during the walk we

came across the Bulls that live in the back of my house and here they are

looking very inquisitive they look very curious they are wondering what is going

on oh look one of them is coming towards me now isn't that lovely yes a very

curious bull so these are the Bulls that live at the back of my house and in a

moment mr. Steve is going to start feeding them they look very curious oh

there's my favorite that's my favorite bull they're the one with the brown

patches on its eyes I think it's such a such a cute bull now they are all coming

down and there is mr. Steve feeding them giving them some leaves from the trees

oh isn't that lovely I love cows and bulls so much they are so lovely there

is something strangely mystical about cows and bulls I think there's something

about their eyes that always makes me feel a little sympathetic I always feel

a little bit sorry for cows I don't know why because they always look so sad

there is something about their eyes I was talking to Steve last night about

this and I said I always think that when I look at a cow it looks as if they want

to say something to me but they can't I don't know why there's something very

strange about animals certain animals when you look at them it seems as if

they want to say something to you or is it just me

is that just my imagination aren't they lovely and there is mr. Steve he seems

to be enjoying himself they're feeding the bulls so that's what we were doing

yesterday we went for a walk into town and then on the way back we met the

Bulls that live at the back of our house aren't they lovely ah hello mr. bull

there is mr. Steve once again I love their tongues cows have very long

tongues and they are very rough to the touch Oh aren't they lovely so that's

what we were doing yesterday we were feeding the cows or should I say bulls

because they are not lady cows they're actually bulls so that's what they are

I've got a fly in here as well today a very annoying fly in my studio it keeps

landing on me so I have a feeling that fly is going to be very annoying today I

have a fly in the studio I can't stand flies

I nearly got it so live chat is up in running some people do complain they

complain because they say mr. Duncan why do you keep saying hello to people why

do you keep saying hello to people all the time well it's because I want to

that's the reason why I want to Julie G is here so our first hello today goes to

Julie hi Julie thanks for joining me on this Sunday afternoon here in the UK it

is now coming up to 20 past 2:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday lots of things

coming up today lots of questions as well questions that I would like to ask

there first of all what is the most boring sport now over the past few days

here in the UK people have been talking about sport cricket of course was taking

place I think there was there was actually a cricket match taking place

yesterday and also recently we had some golf tournaments and next week here in

the UK the football season starts so next week we have the football season

beginning but not everyone likes sport and between you and me some sports are

actually quite boring some sports are not very interesting so what do you

think the most boring sport is I have my own idea I will tell you what it is

later but what do you think the most boring sport is not the most exciting

because there are lots of exciting sports that you can take part in and

watch but what do you think is the most boring sport and between you and me some

of them are very very boring indeed also here's an interesting question

have you ever injured yourself have you ever caused yourself

injury so to injure yourself is to damaged part of your body if you damaged

part of your body we call it an injury so injury is the noun that names the

thing that has been damaged so injury you have an injury you have injured

yourself some people injure themselves by accident some people injure

themselves on purpose have you ever injured yourself and

what's the worst injury you have ever suffered so something that has happened

to your body that has harmed it maybe you have cut yourself by accident maybe

you have bumped your head or maybe you've broken a bone

have you ever injured yourself and what was the injury what was the worst injury

you have ever suffered I'm going to tell you my worst injury now the worst thing

that's ever happened to me in the form of an injury when I was a child I was

playing in my back garden and I trod on a nail a piece of wood had a nail

sticking out and I trod on the nail I actually trod on it I stepped on a nail

and the nail went into my foot it was very very painful I was screaming like a

baby it was it was most unpleasant so the worst injury I've ever had is

stepping on a nail I once I once stepped on a nail and the nail went into my foot

so what is the worst injury that you have ever had what is it what's the

worst injury you have ever suffered we have a mystery guest coming

in today we have someone coming in today but who is it I will be asking them the

same question so later on at 3 o'clock we have a special guest coming in and I

will be asking them the same question what is the worst injury the worst

injury they've ever had in their life Patricia is here hello Patricia Patricia

is watching in France a big Bonjour to you welcome along DeRusha Chima says I

am Chema or Kaymer from Algeria how are you doing sir I'm doing okay I've had a

pretty good week I went to see my mother during the week she's still keeping very

well thank you very much for asking my tongue my tongue says hello mr. Duncan

how are you I'm okay not too bad I can't complain to be honest Maria is here

Maria I'm saying hello to Maria Pierre is here hello from France Oh lots of

people watching in France today very interesting hello from France Irene says

I am a classical musician at our last concert we played a work by Edward Elgar

a wonderful piece of work oh I see well of course edward elgar

composed lots of beautiful music and of course he lived not very far away from

from where I live in the sort of Midlands area Pierre thank you very much

Pierre and Irene is here today Nicole is here hello Nicole nice to see you again

Olga is watching in Moscow lovely to see you how old will you be on your next

birthday Oh a lot of people are very interested in my age I don't know why

Khaled Fidel says hello mr. Duncan greetings from Egypt it looks as if you

have had a good shave your beard seems as if it was shaved well I'm not too

sure it doesn't feel very good today I don't feel as if I've had a good shave I

don't know what it is some days you have very good shaves and it feels very close

and smooth but other days it feels as if you haven't shaved it all I don't know

why that is it's very strange Jamelia is here Thank You Jamelia for

joining me today we are talking also today about something we all do from

time to time sometimes we do it for good reasons and sometimes we do it for

selfish reasons lies today we are talking about lies later on we will take

a look at a lesson all about lies do you ever tell lies do you have a tell lies

do you think it's a good idea to tell lies do you think that sometimes it is a

good thing to tell lies so do you ever tell lies and has ever anyone ever told

you a lie has anyone ever told you a lie so that's something we'll be looking at

later we will be taking a look at a lesson all about lying right now we are

going to take a look at one of my full English lessons and this is an excerpt

from one of my full English lessons this is taken from full English number five

hi everybody and welcome to mr. Duncan's full English number five I thought I

would start off today's edition with a selfie just in case you're watching this

in 2050 and you don't know what to sell for years I'm not going to tell you and

you won't be able to ask me in person because I'm dead oh there you are

hi everybody this is mr. Jenkins full English number five my name is mr.

Duncan and I'm ever so pleased to meet you we are all here again to take a peek

into that wonderful world of English so let us all join hands and say the magic

words for goodness sake mr. Duncan we haven't got all day get on with it

can you see what sort of weather we're having here today well there is poor

visibility for a start it isn't a clear day by any means it is a foggy day here

in England we can use foggy as an idiom to describe the inability to remember

something we can say I haven't the foggiest idea which means you do not

remember or you cannot recall a certain event or a piece of information today is

fog has been caused by warm and the cold air colliding with each other this fog

is made up of tiny particles of moisture you often see fog forming in the early

morning or evening or as the temperature changes the subject of weather is a

fascinating one and for the typical English person such as myself it is a

subject that is often discussed in general day-to-day conversation the two

words shown here may look similar but they are in fact very different the

words perspective and prospective are often confused that is to say one is

used instead of the other first of all the word perspective defines the way in

which things are seen how an object appears depending on its size shape and

relative distance from other things around it in drawing and

painting perspective is used to give the illusion of depth and distance we can

also use this word to express a person's view of the world as their point of view

a person's perspective of the world the views and opinions held by us all come

from our own perspective then there is the word prospective which means

something that is expected or is expecting to be done in the future

something that is likely to happen at a later date is prospective I have a

prospective client coming to my office tomorrow so now there is no need to get

these words confused ever again I have given you a clearer perspective of what

the differences are I have done this for you now and for all the prospective

online students who will join me in the future can you see what I have here this

is a saucepan full of boiling water the hot water is producing steam steam is

produced when water vaporizes normally water vapor cannot be seen but it is

possible to show it when extreme temperatures are used for example when

hot vapor meets cool air this is one of the ways in which clouds are formed the

process is called evaporation the word steam can be used in other ways for

example a person can let off steam this expression means that a person will

release their tension and pent up energy by doing

the action is normally a physical one such as going for a run having a dance

or in extreme cases screaming out loud it would be fair to say that we all need

to let off steam at some point it's time to take a look

at another part of English grammar continuing the theme of punctuation that

we started in the last full English today we will take a look at the dreaded

apostrophe this particular punctuation mark is a controversial one as its use

has been widely disputed over the years even now there seems to be some

confusion over how it should be used in general English the apostrophe serves

two purposes to show the possessive quality of something and to show that a

word has been shortened or a sentence has been made shorter in the possessive

sense the apostrophe shows that one thing belongs to another for example

Duncan's pen Jill's pencil st. Paul's Cathedral the apostrophe can come at the

end of the possessive word for example the teacher's college is over there a

commonly confused use of the apostrophe comes with the word it's the apostrophe

here shows the contraction of it is it's my birthday today when the apostrophe is

not used then the possessive tense is being expressed a mouse has no fur on

its tail another common mistake made with the apostrophe is to use it to show

the plural of ordinary words this is incorrect once again

' is only used when you wish to show a possessive clause or the contraction of

a word or sentence so there we go a full English lesson guess what I was doing

well that was playing I was chasing the fly around the studio trying to catch it

I've managed to get it out of the studio now so fortunately the fly has gone

another full english clip coming later on we are now live on YouTube lots of

things to come your way today we have lots of questions as well including what

is the most boring sport have you ever injured yourself what is

the worst injury you have ever suffered in your life what is the worst injury

that you've ever had and as I just mentioned what is the most boring sport

I'm getting lots of people sending me their messages and thank you very much

once again also coming up later on at 3 o'clock we have look waiting in the

corner well at the moment there is no one there but at 3 o'clock today we have

a special guest going into the studio he isn't there yet but he will be right

here at 3 o'clock in just around about 25 minutes who is it who will it be can

you guess can you guess who the mystery guest will

be I was talking about old-fashioned jobs earlier apparently there are many

yes some people do still have cobblers in their countries so we have them here

people who repair shoes do you know what a milliner is a milliner do you know

what a milliner is do you know what they do if you think

you know what a milliner does it's just one I've just thought of in my head it's

just popped in my head do you know what a milliner does and

also a Cooper do you know what a Cooper does a Cooper it's a type of job I don't

think it exists anymore and of course I mentioned earlier chimney sweeping we

still have people who come around to our houses to clean our chimneys but of

course in Victorian times they used to send children it's true they used to

send children up the chimneys to clean all of the set from out of the chimneys

they used to send them up there not anymore though you'll be pleased to hear

we don't do it anymore Pierre says mr. Duncan you have lovely soft skin you are

forever forever young mentally and physically oh thank you very much Pierre

for that that is very kind of you Estella says barber is another old

fashioned job yes going to the barber the barber will cut your hair and quite

often also shave you as well so barber we still have barbers here barbers tend

to be people who cut and shave men they cut their hair and shave them Oh lots of

people reacting to the cows earlier well in fact they're not cows there are

actually bulls there are some bulls in the field Thank You Ari for your message

as well the fly has now left the studio I have got rid of it it has gone tatyana

says I think the most boring sport is chess

maybe yes chess is not very exciting to watch but I do believe that it's very

exciting to play so if you are taking part in the game apparently it's very

exciting not for me because I don't know how to play chess I don't play chess

myself and yes I think you are right there Tatyana chess is quite boring to

watch I think so Olga says curling seems to be the most boring sport to me

curling I want to cry I want to remember what curling is is curling when you you

push a piece of stone along the surface of ice is that it is that where you you

push a piece of stone along some ice and then you have to see whose stone gets

nearest to the center mark is that right am i right there is that what curling is

it sounds boring isn't it so yes it might be one of the most boring sports

so that is the question today what is the most boring sport to watch or

participate in have you ever been to Brazil no I've never been to Brazil ever

tongue lamb says do you like tennis and I think the most boring sport is rugby

ah Estela has made a suggestion here golf

is quite boring I think thank you Estella for that

hi mr. Duncan how are you I'm watching you from Pakistan thank you uma Umer

Farooq is watching Shan Luna juin says businessmen enjoy playing golf yes they

do businessmen it is a common pastime for businessmen and of course people who

think they are very wealthy so if you go to the golf club or if you tell your

friends that you play goal your friends will think you are very

sophisticated and maybe quite wealthy Chung Lam says mr. Duncan a while ago I

broke some of my bones that is another question we're asking today

have you ever injured yourself so Tong lamina joe says yes while I was

rollerblading I broke some of my bones oh dear that doesn't sound good does it

I hope you're feeling okay now I hope you have recovered from your broken

bones when you break a bone in your body we call it a fracture fracture so when

you break a bone in your body wherever it is in your body we call it a fracture

fracture o'Barr omar Wahab says I think the most boring sport is running I think

so a lot of people like watching athletics for example during the Olympic

Games they have lots of athletic events including running so yes some people

might think that that is boring to watch mr. Duncan I don't like sports except

figure skating and artistic gymnastics gymnastics gymnastics I think I would be

very good at gymnastics because I'm very slim so I think I would be very good at

gymnastics sort of flipping over and maybe doing the splits I've never tried

doing the splits well not intentionally anyway what sport do you like mr. Duncan

I don't really follow sport very much but the football season is starting next

week we are going into another football season and of course at the moment there

are lots of sporting events taking place we have cricket taking place Nicole says

I think the most boring sport is tennis mr. Duncan I have to agree with you it

is one of the most boring sports to watch I don't think it's very exciting

to watch that's just my opinion so every year here in the UK we have a big tennis

tournament at Wimbledon in London but I don't tend to watch tennis I think

tennis is not very exciting to watch but as far as I'm concerned it isn't the

most boring sport there is another sport that I think is very very boring to

watch can you guess what it is Jerry Mouse says hi mr. Duncan what does

what's up mean it means hi what's up what's going on hey what's going on

Antonio good morning everybody Thank You Antonia for joining me today

Bruno Moreno is here as well Patricia says I broke my leg in a skiing accident

do you know what I can never understand why people ski I don't see the point of

it because it's such a dangerous sport every single year lots of people get

injured skiing they fall off and they break a leg or maybe an arm or maybe an

arm and a leg or sometimes even worse they they injure their neck or or they

they die so I think skiing is a very dangerous sport it's not necessarily

boring to watch I think it's quite exciting to watch because you don't know

what's gonna happen next you always expect the person doing the skiing to to

fall over to fall over and break something Thank You Patricia for that

Simone is here hello I'm Simone from Italy and now I am

living here in the UK I'm in the UK in Buxton ah

very nice part of the world Buxton in Derbyshire I think that fly has come

back I just saw the fly again I think it's

come back how annoying hello mr. Duncan I am from El Salvador

Thank You Antoniou for saying hello to me as well we have the mystery idioms

don't worry I haven't forgot we have the mystery idioms and we are about to

reveal them because we are now 15 minutes away from three o'clock

here come the mystery idioms lots of people love watching the the mystery

idioms they love trying to guess what they are so here they come these are two

expressions in English and all you have to do is guess what the mystery idioms

are what are today's mystery idioms here is the first one so here is today's

first mystery idiom all you have to do is say what you see what do you see just

say what you see and here is today's second mystery it I'm being attacked by

a fly at the moment there is actually a fly attacking me I'm going to I've got

my I've got my little spray bottle here I'm going to spray this fly in a moment

to try and get rid of it it's come back so there is today's first mystery idiom

and he was the second one so they are today's mystery idioms but what are they

here is the first one and the second one but what are they they are both

well-known expressions in English but what are they I will of course reveal

the answers later on do you ever tell lies do you ever tell fibs fib a fib is

slang word for lie to lie to fib have you ever

told a lie christina is here hello Christina I am new here hello to

everyone what do we do well the reason why we are here is to learn English and

you of course can send your live messages to me we have lots of things

going on today my name is mr. Duncan and I teach

English I've been here since 2006 teaching English on YouTube it's true I

am one of the original youtubers hello I'm Omer from the country of the

pyramids do you know what I mean I think I do I think you are in Egypt hello from

Colombia glad to be here Thank You Juan Bello thank you very much

me you says hello my name is Mayra and I'm watching in Indonesia

please give your greeting to us here I love your accent very much and the way

you talk is very calm and nice to hear thank you very much and a big hello to

my row watching in Indonesia just in case you want to get in touch with me

via email or maybe you want to follow me on Facebook

here come the details

to badoo badoo so here we go it is a Sunday afternoon welcome thanks for

joining me today it's mr. duncan live from England with

another live English stream I'm just waiting for the fly to come back so I

can spray it this is my new way of getting rid of flies so what I do I

spray this at the fly and then the fly is stunned and then I can pick the fly

up and put it outside and then after a few moments it will fly away because I

don't really like killing animals I don't like killing flies or any animal

for that matter so I use this little spray now to to stun the fly and then I

can get rid of it safely without killing it so that's what I like to do these

days hello mr. Duncan I am watching from Katara says body med row thanks for

joining me today it's live English all away and at 3 o'clock

we have a special mystery guest today joining us I will be asking the mystery

guest about their worst injury that is one of the questions I'm asking everyone

today in fact have you ever injured yourself what's

the worst injury you have ever suffered and of course we have the mystery idioms

today just in case you missed them there they are there is the first one at least

and the second one is there so what are today's mystery idioms there are two and

they are well known English expressions but what are they if you think you know

leave a comment in the chat box it is live English all away today have you

ever told a lie I like lying because it is very furna

says and dinner I say nicole says mr. Duncan

I can see that there are cows on your desk yes can you see the little cow

there there is a cow and there is a little baby cow a baby cow is called a

calf calf would you like to see one of my interesting visitors in the garden

this week I had some very interesting visitors in my garden and here is one of

them right now so here is a little visitor I had in my garden I was very

fortunate because I was able to film it can you see what it is

sniffing and nibbling in my garden it is of course a rabbit I had a little rabbit

in my garden this week the rabbit was spending the morning having a nibble I

love that word nibble so as we go closer you can see the rabbit in detail I love

rabbits ears they are so lovely and their eyes always look deep and

mysterious oh isn't that cute so there was a visitor to my garden this week a

little rabbit we have lots of rabbits around here and many of the farmers

around where I live they often shoot the rabbits and that's the reason why this

rabbit is hiding in my garden because lots of the farmers find the rabbits

quite annoying they see them as vermin so they often shoot the rabbits but this

rabbit is now safe in my god so there is one of the visitors to my

garden this week I have lots of interesting visitors in my garden would

you like to see another very interesting visitor to my garden here we go

something slightly smaller so here is another visitor in my garden in fact

lots of visitors can you see what is happening here there is a swarm of ants

coming up from underneath the pavement and some of the ants have wings they are

flying ants now this normally happens every single year during the summer

months the ants start to swarm they move to another place and you can see some of

the ants they have wings they are flying ants they will fly away and they will

start new nests you can see them off taking off there they are flying away

can you see the ants flying away so this happened in my garden during the week it

happens once a year normally on a very hot day all of the ants will suddenly

swarm they will come out from their nests and they will swarm some of the

ants have wings and some of them don't so the ones that have wings will fly

away they will fly off and they will start new nests

do you like insects some insects are very scary such as spiders talking of

flies I have a fly in my studio at the moment I have a fly that keeps flying

around my head annoying me we have mr. Steve coming in a moment yes

today's mystery guest is mr. Steve so now you know a lot of people wondering

who the mystery guest was today or is it will be mr. Steve yeah a lot of people

have been asking where is mr. Steve so he is now on his way to the studio he

will be here very shortly Pedro Belmont is here hello Pedro when I

was 12 I broke my arm during a match of football during a football match I think

you mean I remember it was very painful I think so I'm very lucky because I've

never broken any of my bones I've never broken anything in my body so no part of

my body has ever been broken honestly nothing not a single part of my body has

ever been broken so Pedro says when I was 12 I broke my arm during a football

match I remember it was very painful yes I think so so what is the most serious

injury that you've ever had have you ever injured yourself by accident and

what's the worst injury you have ever suffered as I mentioned earlier I have

had one terrible accident in my life and that's when I I stepped on a nail

so a nail went into my foot and that happened when I was a child and it was

very painful indeed not to be recommended to be honest not to be

recommended

curling are someone else is now mentioning curling Zafira got zephyr

agate I hope I pronounced your name right

I find curling a very boring sport curling I'm pretty sure it's when you

you move a large stone across ice so you try to get the piece of stone near to

the center I think that's what it is curling I have a feeling that they

normally play that during the Winter Olympics

what is the difference between your country and Vietnam as far as the time

difference Jang Tran I think the difference between the UK

and Vietnam is I think it's about eight hours I think the difference is eight

hours mr. Duncan Zhu Li ji says when I was a child I

always told the truth but many people accused me of being a liar it hurt me

very much so I have now learned to lie sometimes well

some people say that lying is a bad thing some people believe it is terrible

it is evil even some people say that to tell a lie is evil but of course

sometimes it is good to tell lies sometimes it is acceptable to tell lies

so we have a guest coming into the studio very shortly a special guest but

who will it be who is it

dude it's a Sunday afternoon and it's mr. Duncan live on YouTube hello to you

now I've had a couple of messages come

through today asking where my previous live streams are now I have deleted some

of my older live stream lessons now the reason why I've done that is because

well it all concerns YouTube to be honest it's all about how YouTube reads

the views and the amount of time that people spend watching the videos and

because of the very strange nature of YouTube nowadays I have deleted a lot of

my older live streams and the reason is because of the way that the algorithms

on YouTube are read so that's the reason why I've done that so I do apologize to

those who have been disappointed by that action I'm very sorry about that but it

will all make sense soon lots of changes will be happening soon on my channel and

also with my live streams as well lots of things will be taking place

over the next two or three months so keep a lookout for that right guess what

it's 3 o'clock just after 3 o'clock in fact and in the studio now we have a

special guest it's true I'm not joking there is someone in the studio that I

would like you to meet he was going to be the mystery guest but many people

were saying ëi mr. Duncan who's the mystery guest today so yes you all know

who it is here he is it's mitt Oh mr. Steve mr. Steve Oh

oh yes I was hello hello nice to see you yes

what are you doing I was just what I've been in the garden I'll

just get rid of this hat let's keep the Sun off my head and then I just thought

I'd come in so I wanted a break because it's quite tiring when you're weeding

the garden I thought I'll just read catch up on my cars and so here I am and

I happened to be in front of a camera I didn't think was was possible I don't

know how I've managed to wander in you're looking very well thank you very

much yes that's the the fresh air and the sunlight you're looking SuperDuper

fit to that there's no way I'll get sixty point two miles per gallon to that

I'll tell you what what have you got there in your hand yeah where it's a car

magazine do you like cars I do indeed yes I like reading about

cars driving cars and but not crashing them definitely are you sure about that

I have crashed one car in the past because today I tell you what we're

doing today we're asking the question we're asking have you ever injured

yourself or what is the worst injury that you've ever had oh yeah they've

done that already well I'm asking it all day today okay

now can I ask you the same question do you mind no I'm not at all it's not

personal is it no no it happened you want to know what my worst injury is

what is the worst injury did you even ever had what what's the worst thing

that's ever happened to your body probably was car related yes I had a

nasty car accident when I was about 24 in in a triumph tr7 a triumph tr7 with

that that sounds like a very sporty car it was it was quite fast it and but it

wasn't my fault I was over no I was going over the brow of a hill on the

country lane and as soon as I got it was pitch dark soon as I got over that brow

the hill there was a car coming head on straight towards me have you got

something behind your back it looks as if I've tied your hands together

it's don't good master Duncan said you will stand in front of the camera can I

just point out that I am NOT holding Steve hostage can you just show your

hands just to prove it there we go because there's no mid actually looked

as if if is if I'd sneaked up and tied your hands together back you just relax

so what happened though so so you were going over the brow of a hill the brow

over here over here last that yes the top just going over the top but the brow

is right at the top isn't that this isn't English

I better say what this is English and if I would explain you can say what you

want going over the top just at the top of the hill the brow went over saw some

car headlights coming straight towards me BAM

and that was it didn't know much about it sort of bit of a daze he was

overtaking it was actually a doctor he was drunk as we found out later okay

please don't please don't say his name oh I don't know his name oh that's good

I'm very pleased to hear that we're talking 30 years ago oh okay

excuse my age away and over the brava hill and yes hit head-on I was doing

about 50 he was doing that probably about the same it was quite a serious

accident I injured my neck broke my ankle

oh and and got some compensation I have to add back again but yes no I was had a

cast on for six weeks and you know the usual it wasn't could have been a lot

more serious but I was driving this triumph tr7 which was a very strong car

it was in the days when we were building in the early days when we were building

cars for the strict American crash safety standards and this car was built

like a tank and it it was stood the accident variable when you say it was

built like a tank what do you mean very star right built like a tank

means it was built very strongly like a tank which is a big heavy object

so some trouts something that's built sturdily or is erdély was very very

sturdy yes and they used to import these cars

to America but in America they had very strict crash safety regulations which

was much tougher than ours so in order for this car to be sold in America was

built in England it had to be much stronger than the average English or

British car and it was and it and it was you know the other car was like a

concertina it was completely nobody was badly injured and gathered the worst

acts with Mayank of it got over that and here to tell the tale but but you you

would like to reiterate that it wasn't your fault

it wasn't my fault yeah would you say that you are a good driver everybody

thinks they're a good driver don't they well everybody does but I'm all about

you who do you think you're a good driver yes of course now I I have it on

good authority that you took your advanced driver's test I did yes that

that's a test that can be taken here I'm sure the countries have it as run in the

UK you can take the advanced or danced depending on how you wish to pronounce

that well I would say that yes I would say that you are quite a good driver I

think so I'm quite calm I do lose my temper from time to time that we all do

I can't imagine you losing your temper I do on the road really so you broke your

ankle how is your ankle now it's okay I can't run on it but it's okay well so

what do you do when you go running do you just hop I just hop on one leg yes

along the street yes that that's the after a number of years when you've had

an injury like that to a joint it tends to get worse as you get older yes I

think this happens a lot with fractures if you break us if you break a bone in

your body if you break a bone in your body you quite often find that later in

life it will give you problems it will be painfully or it will ache or maybe

you won't be able to use the joint anymore so so that's the thing that's

happening now so so because of your accident 30 years ago you are you're

still feeling the effect of it yes not see it's not serious I can still get on

with my life but yes it the jointers is not as as it was before which means I

can't run on it put a lot of weight on it because of the the past injury so yes

these injuries come back to bite you do they what does that mean come back to

bite you yes these are it these it whatever you better explain that it

means that everything that happened in the past you forget about it but it's

having an effect like this injury so something was going on and then it's

just an expression that means it's affecting you something that affecting

the past will now affect you again in the future could be sometime in the

future so it comes back to comes back to bite you that's a great reminding you

that it's still there I think that's what if I explained that if you did

quite a good job yes it normally it means an action that happens at a

certain point of time and then later reoccurs or or has ceramic assumptions

or has some other consequence as a consequence so maybe for example you

tell a lie and you think that you've got away with it but now later that lie

comes back to bite you somebody finds out hmm they find out that you've lied

something yes exactly talking of lies we're talking about lies

today do you ever lie mr. Steve do you ever tell lies I think yes do you know

just the hesitation there every one and I tempted to say no but of course that

would be a lie so I think we all lie from time to time and we do so some

people are very good at lying whilst other people are not very good at lying

would you say that you are good at lying yes I'm very good I'm very good at lying

yes that's that's quite interesting with people are lying they often they often

give themselves away by body language or things they do that's it so sometimes

when a person is lying they might they might touch their nose or they might

their mouths or they might link ups theory something like that or they might

put a very large blanket over their head and then lie or not look directly at you

that's it I think your your show is very good mr. Duncan is excellent yes are you

lying them were you lying about that I was I was pretending to like okay I'm

going to very good I'm going to throw you in the deep end now what is that hey

if you throw someone in the deep end what does that mean that means you don't

give them any preparation for doing something you said I want you to do this

like like if you were to be if you were trying to learn to swim and you threw

someone in the deep end they would have to figure out how to stay afloat so they

didn't drown so though that's that's where it comes from but of course it

could be like you're throwing me in the deep end by saying will you appear on

camera as an untrained person I've got to somehow adapt to what I'm doing and

but you know I've got a look in the camera and said of over to you so throw

some of the deep-end giving them give them a task to do they've never done

before that it just is totally out there that's it and so if you if you spring

something on a person without them preparing for its a tan each I think

I've been bitten the girl where are you itching at the moment leg is I think

it's a I think isn't fly bitten me are you sure it was an itchy leg definitely

definitely okay then we can confirm that I believe you have a word for us yes I

do I've got three is it a flash word or a flash phrase it's a flash word okay

then so off you go right here we go just make sure everyone can see that yes yes

we can oh I can't read it now right infringe

it's an English verb everybody see that yes yes yes we can the word infringed is

a verb that means to overstep or break and agreed law or restriction to

infringe is to interfere with or to go over and agreed limitation

or to go against the terms of an agreement for example these musicians

have infringed my copyright the newspaper reporter infringed my privacy

the word infringement is the noun that names the act of infringing another

example this is clearly an infringement of copyright laws to infringe is to

break contravene disobey flout interfere intrude invade undermine violate etc

infringe you see I could stay here for ages and infringe on your lesson you are

constantly interrupting and overstepping the mark you could never infringe on me

but I could I could go on and on and on it interrupt you and go against what

you've asked me to do which is read out a few words and I could go do more than

that and take over and I've been fringing on our prior agreement do you

know a couple of weeks ago I went I went to the dentist right I think you told me

about that I remember that I went to the dentist and the dental hygienist she was

so rude to me she gave me a telling-off she would she got quite angry with me

now I'm just wondering today because you have quite nice teeth that's it give us

a smile get close to the camera so we can see it yes they rather nice yes not

too bad they look very completion for an English person who's English people are

renowned for having bad teeth I don't know why that is but then I think I

think that's Americans though a lot of Americans think that British people have

terrible teeth now let's let's have a look at my team not far off let's have a

look at my teeth so here's an here my teeth and mr. Steve me

mr. Steve so who do you think has the nicest teeth between mr. Steve and

myself who do you think who do you think has the nicest eath because mr. Steve

always shows off he says I went to the dentist today and they didn't say

anything to me they just cleaned my teeth and that was it

whereas I get a lot of hassle from my dental hygienist she really gives me a

hard time so who has the nicest teeth between me and mr. Steve mr. Steve give

us a smile and and me so who has the nicest teeth thank you very much mr.

Steve always looked after my teeth have you all my life which is why they're

quite good that they're very very white I've got lots of other car magazines

here cuz I don't just have if in case people think that I only read what car I

don't I read auto car ok Auto Express ok which is the sort of lower end of the

market but quite please note drop the bag as the car magazine which is the

sort of the elite elite magazine Oh Oh drop it please please don't drop the

magazines on the floor it's a bit too late now to say that I know but because

you've already done it but thanks so what's new in the world of cars I do new

in the electric cars that's do we have electric cars yet we've got a few of

them and what six well we've got there's a few if you've got a lot of money you

can buy a Tesla which it's a very is an American car but they cost sort of

upwards of sixty seventy thousand pounds you know this week in the UK they

announced that by 2040 finish but never mind

by 2040 there won't be any cars that run on petrol or diesel being sold that's

what I said 2040 I don't know if I'll still be

driving then but yes so as I was saying before you

infringed on my dialogue you can buy a very expensive Tesla for about eighty

thousand pounds or you can buy a Nissan Leaf which is much cheaper either way

you can't go very far on them because they only take you about 150 miles if

that before you need to charge up so where it's going to be interesting to

see how they develop the electric car to be as practical as a petrol or diesel

car mmm personally I can't see it happening but there you go I had a

special guest and did you see this special guest in the garden this week

did you see it was it a cow it was a it was a rabbit oh yes a rabbit we had a

rabbit in the garden this week and I was filming the rabbit it was in the garden

hiding from the farmer as I mentioned earlier other farmers are out and about

at the moment shooting the rabbits once you've got one rabbit it won't be long

before you've got a lot of rabbits as we all know about rabbits and their habits

rabbits and their habits they do like to procreate yes they like to yes they like

to get down and get jiggy as they say did you know that the word rabbit can

also be used as a slang phrase as well a slang word so there it is rabbit so the

word rabbit yeah in cockney English so if you rabbit

it means you talk too much now can you see where I'm going here if you taught

yourself if you talk too much am I talking about myself maybe I'm not if

you rabbit it means to talk too much or to talk excessively so I think we will

let mr. Steve go how about you don't new you're anything else no that's okay you

can go back into the garden I believe there are some wee

kids that the purpose is over there are some weeds that need pulling up yes

there are yes and there they there they need a lot of a lot of strength in your

fingers thank goodness you didn't injure your fingers no I didn't actually I'm

gonna get them to eat first and then I'm gonna go back into the garden and pull

out some weeds and just tidy everything up a bit that sounds fun so I'll put my

hat back on put your hat back on there we go took a

long time on holiday why did it take so long then to put that hat on oh it was

all the way down there yes it's like you're having trouble finding your head

isn't it silly but you've got to keep the sun off your head do a little got

any hair no I think it's a great looking hat otherwise you get you know cancer on

your head don't want that okay and on that cheerful note right yes on that

happy cheerful positive note we will say goodbye to mr. Steve see you again later

just to let you know there's two other words here I'm sure mr. Duncan's gonna

handle those very well later so thank you for the invitation and good luck

with the rest of the show and I'm off back into the garden see you later

bye-bye bye-bye mr. Steve and there he goes mr. Steve has left the building

some would say good riddance and some wouldn't I hope you enjoyed that

something different today something different at 3 o'clock we are talking

about lies today do you ever tell lies we are now going to take a look at a

lesson all about telling lies do you ever tell lies hi everybody this is mr.

Duncan in England how are you today are you ok

I hope so are you happy I hope so in this lesson we will take a look at

another dark side of our behavior the act of telling lies

the word lie means to say something or to make someone believe something that

is not true there are many reasons why we tell lies

but the two most common reasons are because we want to protect either

ourselves or another person close to us

there are many words connected to and which mean telling lies such as betray

cheat con deceive delude dishonest dupe Tulsa feign fib hoodwink

missing for mislead pretend swindle trick and untruth there is a short idiom

that describes the act of lying we pull the wool over somebody's eyes you lied

to me you pulled the world over my eyes

why do we really lie sometimes we need to lie to avoid a difficult situation or

to prevent us from hurting or offending someone we call this type of deception a

white lie so telling a lie may not always be a bad thing or so we would

like to believe here are two examples of white lies you cannot see your best

friend tonight because you are going out with someone from work you do not want

to hurt your friend so you say that you are going to visit your family for

supper you eat the last cream cake but you don't want to seem like a greedy

person so instead you say that the dog ate it

do you ever tell lies have you ever been caught lying did anyone ever lie to you

of course there is one big problem with lying and that is being found out or

caught telling a lie even a white lie can get you into serious trouble because

if you are caught doing it the other person will not trust you anymore they

will feel cheated disappointed and foolish a person who tells lies is

called a liar they are dishonest they can also be called a cheat or a fever

there is a phrase in English that goes honesty is the best policy this means

that it is better to try and be honest with other people

even if what you say may hurt or upset them

before I finish today I would like to say a special hello to my new friends

watching in China India Italy South Korea Thailand the Netherlands and yet

now I will see you all again soon honestly I promise that is not a lie

cross my heart this is mr. duncan in england saying but

i for now

hmm so there it was one of my English lessons from way back in 2008 can you

believe it so many years ago nine years ago that lesson was made all about

telling lies do you ever tell lies have you ever told an untruth sometimes lying

can be okay sometimes lying can be acceptable we call acceptable lying a

white lie a white lie so when you lie but the lie is not harmful we call it a

white lie hello son says mr. Steve your accent is very British I think so well

mr. Steve is British that's the reason why Kathryn fogs asks was the doctor

still able to care after mr. Steve yes I think that he had to spend some time

resting his ankle but his ankle got better his ankle is now okay but

sometimes it does give him a little bit of discomfort

Gwen below says I injured my knee severely yes your knees I think knees

are a part of your body that you tend to forget you tend to ignore but I think

knees are very important parts of the body I injured my knee severely when I

was 15 I rode a bike down a very steep hill I did it without breaks

thinking back it was a very foolish thing to do

Thank You Gwen yes we tend to ignore our knees we take them for granted we just

say I have knees I will ignore them but as you get older you will realize just

how important and how fragile your knees are mr. Duncan it is a great idea to

involve mr. Steve in your lessons very much for that when Oh Jean Santos

says some something that comes back to beat you yes we can say beat or of

course we can say bite so something that comes back to bite you some thing that

you did in the past that comes back to create problems hi hi mr. Duncan I'm

from Cuba Wow I don't have many people watching in

Cuba so a big hello to everyone watching in Cuba oh but now I live in Miami in

Florida oh I see so you used to live in Cuba

Hannah gwee Hannah gwee Perello thank you very much for your comment today

thank you very much Jean Santos says I can lie very well but

I'd rather say or tell the truth nice teeth

guys says Julie G oh so Julie thinks that we both have nice teeth that's good

Patricia says I think mr. Duncan has the nicest teeth thank you very much for

that miss shunt says you both have nice teeth

Olga thinks that mr. Duncan your teeth are whiter but mr. Steeves are better

formed do you know in the United States that people there think that all British

people have bad teeth I don't know why that's true but some British people do

have terrible teeth but others have nice teeth so I don't think that's

necessarily true

mr. Steve you have better teeth oh you have better teeth mr. Duncan oh I see

to be honest you have better teeth mr. Duncan Thank You Reggie for that Andrew

asks mr. Steve can you repair your car by yourself I think Steve is very

knowledgeable about cars he knows a lot about cars but I'm not sure if he ever

takes his car apart and then puts it back together again but I think he does

do some some minor repairs to his car now in a game so yes I think he knows

how to repair a car as long as as long as it's simple as long as it's something

very simple I absolutely love mr. Steve's way of speaking and by the way

mr. Steve's teeth are nicer in my opinion Thank You Jamelia for that thank

you very much so you think that mr. Steve has nicer teeth than me okay fair

enough are you going to buy a new car mr. Steve asks Leena I think mr. Steve

is getting a new car later this year I think he is I don't know what sort but

maybe he will come back another time and tell us all about his new car tatata mr.

steve says amazing door thank you very much for that something very different

today we have the mystery idioms I will be giving you the answers to these later

so here are today's mystery idioms but what are they what are today's mystery

idioms there is the first one and there is the second one - mystery idioms but

what are they there is the first one

if you think you know the answers please let me know on the live chat when I tell

lies I often become very red and embarrassed so I rarely tell lies

says Patricia some people think that lying is okay as long as the lie is a

white lie so a white lie is something that's you say this is untrue but not

harmful sometimes a white lie can be a good

thing yes mr. Duncan telling lies without

blinking the eyes it means someone tells lies without feeling any guilt thank you

hello son for that it is very hard to lie

some people are are not good liars some people are terrible liars and when they

lie sometimes they touch their nose or maybe they they blink a lot or maybe

they they touch their face so some people are not very good at lying sin K

is watching in Turkey please say hello to me hello sin K watching in Turkey and

of course I have been to Turkey in the past respect says hello I am your fan

from Russia please say hello to me hello respect and thank you for joining me

today olga has made a guess at one of the

mystery idioms thank you very much for that psychologists say that people start

telling lies in their childhood after they have passed the age of three years

old they do it to conceal bad actions Thank You Lena for that yes I think most

people lie even I have told lies in the past so sometimes I lie but quite often

my lies are white lies I tell lies sometimes to protect

other people or maybe to protect myself so that's the main reason why most

people tell lies Zorin says I have the answers to the

mystery idioms the first one is are you a mouse or a man are you a man or a

mouse and the second one is is it on camera no both of those are incorrect

I'm sorry about that they are both wrong so there they are today's mystery idioms

what is the most boring sport what is the most boring sport to watch or

participate in there are many boring sports around one of the most boring

sports that I think exists is golf I think golf might be this is just my

opinion by the way I think golf is probably the most boring sport to watch

another sport that's very boring to watch is fishing watching people fish

they're not actually doing anything they're just sitting by a river they're

not actually doing anything so if you watch someone fishing in a river or a

pond that can be very boring to watch mr. Duncan you missed my question could

you explain why you said earlier it still does exist and not it still exists

well it's just another way of saying it it still does exist it still does exist

or it does still exist so you are basically expressing the same thing AB

AB made a guess at one of the mystery

idioms thank you very much for that mr. Duncan from Medellin in Colombia I

love your classes and I'm very excited to learn more and more thanks for

everything thank you very much watching in Medellin

it's less less Lizz Lizz it Barela or Barrera thank you very much for that I

hope I pronounced your your name right there

fishing is a hobby and not a sport actually can you believe it fishing is a

sport you can compete with other people when you are fishing so yes fishing

actually can be a sport did you know that

Jamelia says I never lie I don't like it when people lie well there are things

that people say that are untrue that can be very harmful or damaging so yes

sometimes lies can be very bad sir you didn't see my comment maybe not maybe

there's a reason why I didn't see it because there are lots of messages today

on the live chat so if you would like to write to me because I do have an email

address and also I am on Facebook as well you can write to me or you can

follow me

it's live English on a Sunday afternoon and it's mr. Duncan alive on YouTube

thank you very much for joining me today I hope you've enjoyed today's lesson

lots of things happening today we had mr. Steve at three o'clock did you see

mr. Steve he came in today to join me on the livestream talking about his

interests in cars and also his very serious injury that he had 30 years ago

this is Mohammed watching your movie from Pakistan we have a great quote that

goes don't ask questions if you want to hear no lies yes

sometimes if you ask a question maybe the other person doesn't want to answer

it so instead they will lie so if you don't

ask questions you will hear no lies thank you very much for that so yes I

did see your message there it is thank you for joining me today

Antonio says I think chess is the most boring sport but it is very difficult to

play and to play it stimulates the intelligence I think so I think you are

right there yes watching chess can be very boring but

playing chess I think is very stimulating it stimulates the brain I

think you are right I used to think that tennis was boring but once I learned the

rules I didn't consider it that way anymore I think it's a bit like

volleyball volleyball is not very interesting to watch although it's very

hard to play thank you who I am for that what is the relation between you and mr.

Steve so many people ask what our relationship is I don't know why you're

so interested it's like I'm some sort of celebrity ooh

very nice the most hurtful injury that I've ever had was when I fell on my head

I don't like the sound of that to be honest I had seven stitches in my head

oh my goodness yes sometimes if you injure yourself sometimes you might cut

your skin and sometimes the cut is very large so if you have a very large cut on

your body sometimes they have to stitch the cut to make it close hmm sounds very

painful I have never had stitches in my life I have never had any injury

stitched up or sewn up the stitches that you have are called sutures sutures

that's a very interesting word lots of people now chatting on the live chat

today because of course it is your live English that's the reason why I am here

today I am here for you after your stitches have been taken out

you will have something called a scar scar so scar is the mark that is left

after the injury is healed up scar yes thank you the French Leo for that is

chess a sport well it is yes it's if if you are competing against another person

it is a sport yes or of course a game a game Zee ha or Zahir Zahir Hussein says

ping pong watching ping pong is very tedious I think so yes ping pong or

Table Tennis yes not very exciting to watch but very difficult to play very

competitive I think it's a very competitive sport ping-pong yes

it is a sport there is a world competition it is the brain sport I

don't know what that refers to maybe it refers to chess I'm not too sure thank

you own Dantonio for that what is the

meaning of bad liar from Selena Gomez do you mean a song are you talking about a

song but liar if a person is a bad liar it means they are not very good at doing

it so they are not very good at lying they are a bad liar they are bad at

lying they are terrible at lying they can't lie convincingly Thank You mr.

Duncan you are the best believe me Thank You Reggie

for that shall we have another video clip we are now going to take a look at

one of my full English lessons in fact what you are about to watch is an

excerpt from not one but two of my full English lessons now at the start of

today's live stream I talked about my trip to my mother's house now when I

went to my mum's I noticed that there was a piece of wood in her dustbin and

the dust man the refuse collectors hadn't taken the bin they hadn't emptied

it and they rejected it they said that they weren't going to take it because my

mother had put some wood in the dustbin so do you think it is fair to force

people to recycle in the following clip we are going to have a look at me

talking all about recycling

can you see what I'm doing here I'm moving these empty plastic bottles to

the recycling box at the back of my house

they will then be collected by the local recycling plant and taken to a place

where they will be melted down and reused to recycle is the process of

reusing something over and over these days recycling is carried out all around

the world almost anything can be recycled

the most commonly recycled materials include water paper and plastic many

electrical devices can now be recycled to most metallic objects are also

recyclable from discarded cans right up to disused cars many things these days

can be recycled we often hear the word sustainable used when discussing

recycling this word refers to the action of maintaining a balance between the use

and replacement of materials needed for the manufacturing of everyday items

sustainable forests and sustainable oceans being the two most common places

where things such as wood gas and oil are found

if you remember in the previous full English lesson I talked about recycling

at home do we have the clip do we have the clip you know the clip from my last

full english lesson do you have the clip do you have it do you have the clip do

you have the clip well after that segment was shown I received thousands

what's that not thousands how many of them was it

hundreds not hundreds how many was it how many people complained how many how

many six just six that's all well since that segment was posted I have received

six complaints from people saying that I should have first crushed the plastic

bottles before placing them into the recycle box so just for you here is a

bottle I crushed earlier

well hello there fancy seeing you here how lovely it is

to see you again my name is mr. Duncan welcome to another full English lesson

this is the 20th edition and look the son has decided to come out for us isn't

that nice of course most of my English lessons are made right here in England

the birthplace of rugby the Beatles George Formby Stan

Laurel Sir Isaac Newton the motorised vacuum cleaner

Boy George the Bronte sisters and of course the English language which is as

always the star of the show so without any more pontificating hesitation

dawdling or beating about the bush let's get started with today's full English

lesson right

is there anything worse than starting something new could there be a more

nerve-wracking feeling than doing something for the first time being new

to or at something must be one of the hardest situations to find yourself

having to deal with perhaps you've just started a new job or begun to learn a

new skill maybe you are using that acquired skill for the first time in a

real situation whatever the circumstances being new it's something

can be tough a person who's just recently started doing something new can

be described as a newbie or a newcomer they are new at the job a person without

experience can be described as being green they are just starting out that

person is a novice a beginner they are learning the ropes which means that the

person in question is a trainee he or she is learning how to do something a

trainee is a person who learns while they watch another person working they

can also be described as an apprentice

here's an interesting word that you might not have seen before

the word is portmanteau this word has more than one definition as a noun it

means a large leather bag or suitcase used for transporting clothes whilst

traveling however the word portmanteau also has another meaning which is the

combination of two separate things that have been joined together to form

something new in linguistics a portmanteau is a word formed by

combining or morphing two words together for example the words brench Cineplex

email for tonight infomercial motel Podcast and smog are all types of

portmanteau the word portmanteau itself derived from the combination of two

French words which means that portmanteau is itself a combination of

two separate words Dibby Dibby do to do to be Dibby Dibby Dibby Dibby Dibby

Dibby du there it was full English lesson I'm just looking at one of mr.

Steve's car magazines this is one of the car magazines that he left behind

if you missed mr. Steve earlier don't worry you can watch this livestream all

over again later on because it will be saved on YouTube now if you are looking

if you are searching for my older my earlier live streams they have now been

deleted from YouTube and this is because of the algorithms that decide on which

videos are promoted on YouTube so I have deleted some not all but some of my

older my earlier live streams but the good news is I will be keeping some of

my recent live streams they will stay on my YouTube channel and of course there

will be lots of new English lessons coming as well very soon on my youtube

channel as well so look out for that lots of things happening over the next

few weeks mr. duncan is my answer correct to your mystery idioms I did

post it three times but you didn't answer me thank you very much hello son

the answers to our mystery idioms are coming very shortly so please stay tuned

for that there is the day's first mystery idiom

and here is the second one but what are they the answers coming very soon

because we are coming towards the end of today

live stream it's gone very fast again just another five minutes

and then I am out of here I hope you've enjoyed everything today giong Tran Wong

says I hate athletics Oh some people like watching athletics

whilst others do not Estela says most sports are tedious to

watch tedious something that is boring to watch something that seems to go on

for a very long time without anything happening can be described as tedious

something tedious is boring I love your channel says and sell and

sell MMO and sell ammo thank you very much for that Nikolai is here hello

Nikolai haven't seen you for a while Nikolai has made a guess for today's

mystery idioms

Jamelia says how lucky you are to be living so close to nature I live in a

city and I quite envy you well you don't have to be jealous because of course

maybe in the future you can live somewhere in the countryside or away

from the town or city Thank You Jamelia for that Maria says oh yes you you are

also correct well done almost you are almost correct should I say almost Thank

You Maria for your guests for today's mystery idiom i I've got some of your

deleted live lessons downloaded but not all of them ok Andrew that's all right

no problem I have deleted many of my live streams from the past mainly due to

the fact that YouTube or should I say the algorithms on YouTube often act in a

very unfair way so all I'm saying so that's the reason

why that that's the reason why I have to decide to delete a lot of my live

streams the old ones but you can watch this live stream later no problem

it's alright and hopefully later there will be subtitles as well a lot of

people forget about the subtitles but they are there Juan Bello mr. Duncan in

my opinion the most boring sport is the shotput the only thing is all they are

doing is throwing a heavy sphere yes it's just a big heavy ball and they

throw it from their shoulder shot put yes it's not very interesting is it not

very exciting having said that you do you do need to be a very strong person

to do it so I think the most boring sport is golf and maybe also fishing as

well fishing is not very very interesting to watch you don't see many

TV shows talking about fishing do you hang van says mr. Duncan could you tell

me how to say newcomer to a new company he or she is not the beginning not the

beginner of his or her career if someone has been working for a long time with a

company we can say that they are a long time employee so long time they are a

long time employee that means they have been with the company for many years

long the juin says England is the birthplace of football so do you like

playing football I don't play football and to be honest I don't watch much

football either so we have come to the end of today's livestream oh my goodness

those two hours went very quickly before I go

let's have the answers to today's mystery idioms the first mystery idiom

quite a few of you got this right well don't smell a rat it is a well

known English expression to smell a rat the meaning is to sense that something

is not right to suspect that something is not what it seems is to smell a rat

that's a great expression and the second expression today's second mystery idiom

is the camera never lies ah very interesting so the camera never

lies the meaning a photo in its raw form is a true representation of the subject

we often say that the camera never lies it means that what appears on the

photograph is the truth so there we go - mystery idioms have been solved did you

get the right I hope so it's time for me to go unfortunately we

are right out of time it is just after 4 o'clock Thank You Olga Thank You Mika

thank you long the doin apparently Meeker says I broke one of my fingers

when I was a child and it still hurts during the rainy days yes during the

damp weather so when the weather is damp maybe your broken bone or the bone that

was broken starts to hurt good bye to Maria goodbye to the French

Leo goodbye to Yi Xiao Ming goodbye to Elinor thank you very much for joining

me today mr. Duncan saying goodbye I will see you

Jessi Cruickshank's Post-Pegnancy Plastic Surgery Consult | CBC Life - Duration: 3:24.

[WHIMSICAL MUSIC]

Hi Doctor Krajden

Hi Jessi

I am here today because I would like to pop out two babies, and then have my body go right

back to how it was before, so I'd like to explore my options.

Anything cosmetic is elective, it's just like renovating your bathroom.

It's a want not a need.

I'm basically renovating my body.

Yes.

Everytime you walk into the bathroom, you see your new taps and faucets and it really

makes you happy.

I want new taps, and a faucet.

For sure.

Let's start from the top down.

The bosoms.

For a lot of women, what will happen is they will lose their upper fullness, some women

would say droopy.

And the roundness goes to a bit more of a oblong flatter shape.

When I have droopy, and oblong flat breasts, what are my options?

You use an implant to add volume, and enhance the overall shape and contour and roundness

so to speak.

Will perkier boobs make me a better mom?

It might make you a happier mother.

And a happier mother is a better mother.

Okay so moving on down, let's talk about this region.

What happens to it after two babies have been living and growing inside of it for 9 months?

Your skin and soft tissue stretch, even if someone is very slim, it gives them a bit

of a bulge in their lower abdominal area.

Okay, and what can we do about that?

Your looking at skin tightening, and fat reduction.

Liposuction, that would include tummy tuck operation.

We actually removing excess skin and fat, relocating the belly button, tightening the

abdominal muscles.

And all of that because I decided to have two kids.

Exactly.

**** me.

Let's move down even further.

I'm going to list just some of the crotch based procedures you perform here, you tell

me what they are.

Labiaplasty.

What you do is you more or less trimming or contouring the external genital area.

Got it.

Mons Pubis Reduction.

So what happens is they still have excessive soft tissue, above the vagina.

It's called the Mons Pubis area, the most common option would be some very minimal invasive

liposuction.

And yoga pants is the main concern there.

I want to look flat in my yoga pants?

Hmm.

Radio frequency vaginal tightening.

A probe is introduced internally, and what it does is tighten some of the inner tissue.

Has a women ever been unhappy with her post op poopadoop.

That what my mom used to call it when I was a kid.

I'm not answering that.

If I want a full head to vag mommy makeover, does insurance cover that?

Insurance plans will not cover that.

Okay.

And the medical term is not vag either, so.

Usually we call it the perineal area.

That's sexy.

The pelvic region, yes.

No insurance, no vag.

Exactly.

I think I might opt to focus on the wellness

of my children more than my own self sexiness.

Is that a good idea?

Focus on your child, focus on diet and exercise.

Then you can move on and start taking care of yourself in a bit more intimate, interventional

way.

Got it.

What's the word for vagina?

Perineal region.

I'm never going to forget that.

I'm sure.

I'll think of you everytime.

Book Stories - BookTubeAThon 2017 Challenge 7 [CC] - Duration: 2:41.

Hi, YouTube, it's Kathy.

And welcome back to the seventh and final day of the BookTubeAThon.

It's been a long haul, but as predicted, we all made it.

Today's video challenge is to tell a book story.

So, a story about a time you were reading or a particular book that impacted you in

some way.

Since the video challenge came out, I've been racking my brain, trying to come up with the

one good story to tell.

I mean, I could tell you about the tattoo I have on my back that is a symbol found in

the The Dark Tower series, and in the series it means Unfound Door, but to me it means

Adventure, especially because I got it in a hostel bar in Scotland.

I could tell you that when I was 12 and 13, I used to ride my bike to middle school while

reading a book.

Fortunately, I lived in a small town, and I never crashed or anything like that, but

eventually I smartened up and when I wanted to read and be mobile, I at least [walked]

with a book in front of my face because audiobooks became an option.

I could tell you about the countless times that I've been reading in public, which has either

led to people either asking me book recommendations of me, or giving me book recommendations based

on what I was reading.

Or the countless times that I've been wearing book related shirts, and that has started

a conversation.

In fact, I work at a public library, and I've made it my mission to always wear a book related

shirt to work.

Of course, now that a lot of people I work with know that, whenever I wear this shirt,

they're very confused, and I have to explain, "yes, this is a best selling author".

But here's the problem with coming up with the best story to tell for this very short

video: the story of books and I isn't short.

It's an epic that will last for the rest of my life.

Every day is a new chapter, every day brings potential books to add to my TBR, or things

that I have to leave behind because I wasn't enjoying them the way I thought I would.

And it's quite possible that I will turn off this camera, edit this video, hit upload,

and then realize that there was a really good story I could have told.

Something self contained and something that would have tried to encompass my love for books.

But I don't think there's just one.

Just like books, there isn't just one.

I mean, if you're like me, you can't have a favourite book.

So I'm not going to pick a favourite story.

And with that, that is the last of my BookTubeAThon challenge videos.

I will have a vlog video up also later today.

I've also put together a playlist of all of my BookTubeAThon challenges, so if you'd like

to check that out, that's up here and down below.

And I will hopefully see you soon.

I'm gonna go shoot my weekly wrap up now. Bye!

what's making me happy this [ambiguous time frame] - Duration: 3:33.

Hello, so I love the idea of monthly favorites videos as a good sort of catch all place to just talk about stuff that you enjoy.

However, I know that the second I decide to commit to doing that,

I will get into, like, the second month of it and discover that I have lost all joy in life, and nothing has meaning,

or, more likely, I will just find that it is such a chore that it loses all of the magic that makes me wanna do it in the first place.

AND SO I have decided that I'm go with the format, but reframe it without any sort of time constraints.

So, like, I'm gonna do a thing now, and maybe I'll do it next month, or next week, or never again.

WHO KNOWS?

So today, here is a numbered, but not actually ranked list of things that have made me happy in some relatively recent amount of time.

First up – oh I should say that I am also doing this because a while back I made these numbers for a video –

uhh.. [shrug] but, you know, I have them now, so I have to become a person who makes list videos?

Anyway, FIRST UP is Glow.

I watched the whole show in an afternoon and it was just fun.

It's got some issues, but watching these women, both as characters and also the actors engaging in something that just appeared so joyful was a blast to watch.

It was a solid use of a few hours of my Saturday.

Most of the finale looked like it was just magical to be a part of.

And there are some really cool featurettes of the cast, like, behind the scenes, learning to do all of their stunts, and stuff...

Uhh, it's great.

It's a wonderful show about ladies wrestling on Netflix – I didn't tell you what it was first.

Now I did. OK great.

Second is So You Think You Can Dance, which is a reality show that is what it sounds like.

And I have not seen since coming to Missoula, but I used to watch it all the time.

And then I discovered that it is one of the great perks of my Hulu membership,

and now I'm just so happy that I get to watch talented people's dreams come true,

and hear awkward commentary from my reality TV parents,

and, like, occasionally cry at people's beautiful, emotional, moving backstories. It's great.

#3 is this incredible video that Taylor made,

which, someday I'm gonna have a list – a playlist – on my channel that's just me being all,

"So, Taylor made a great video, and, blah blah blah blah."

Um, but, so Taylor made a great video.

It's just a great video about our feelings and about how we devalue them and probably we shouldn't.

But it's told through the wonderful personal story, poignant message format that Taylor is so incredible at.

#4 is a fantastic video that Sophie made about putting her art up on her walls.

She's uncomfortable even calling it art at the beginning of the video, which is silly because it's great, and it is art,

but just this idea of creating things and surrounding yourself with those things,

and valuing the things that you are creating enough to do that is just inspiring and beautiful and made my day.

Finally, #5 is a glorious Game of Thrones version of the opening number from Hamilton.

I have not been able to get it out of my head and it makes me happy how freaking good it is,

and if you like Game of Thrones and also Hamilton, you should listen to it slash watch it.

OK THAT'S ALL. Tell me about good happy-making stuff, OK, BYE!
