Trey Gowdy Infuriates Dems With Perfect Move Against "Russia Meddling" Narrative…| Top Stories Today - Duration: 3:07.
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy is not succumbing to the
media's scare tactics and false narratives.
The South Carolina congressman plans to turn his committee away from its investigation
of "Russian meddling" in the 2016 election, as it's been fruitless thus far.
Gowdy doesn't plan on wasting time doing the work of the special counsel, headed up
by Robert Mueller — so he's going to keep moving forward.
The former prosecutor humbly stated that he would prefer to have the Oversight Committee
focus on some of the less headline grabbing, but still important issues such as overseeing
the Census and National Archives.
USA Today reports:
"It's probably a case-by-case basis," Gowdy told a group of reporters on Capitol
Hill Friday when asked if he would continue some of the outstanding inquiries former chair,
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is leaving behind, including a series of requests to the White
House for documents linked to the Russia probe.
Gowdy did say he would investigate things as they came up.
Chaffetz announced his retirement in April and Republicans picked Gowdy to take over
his spot as committee chairman.
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee sent a letter to White House chief of staff
Reince Priebus earlier this week, requesting information about the security clearances
for President Trump's former national security adviser Michael Flynn and Jared Kushner, his
adviser and son-in-law.
Democrats want to know why Flynn and Kushner did not have their security clearance suspended
in the wake of allegations they had previously unreported contacts with Russian officials.
Gowdy said such a request doesn't fall under Oversight's purview and that he has shared
that view with the committee's top Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md.
"Allegations of criminal or quasi criminal activity are squarely in (Special Counsel
Robert Mueller's) jurisdiction," Gowdy said.
He added that his committee could look at the process by which security clearances are
issued, but not specific individuals.
Mueller was selected to lead an investigation into Russian influence in the 2016 election
separate from the various congressional committees which are also looking into it.
Gowdy is a member of the House Intelligence Committee and has a leading role in that committee's
investigation.
Gowdy also suggested that the House Judiciary Committee would have jurisdiction over some
of the Russia investigation, but that committee has not been actively involved.
"I think the specifics of this letter are in Bob Mueller's jurisdiction," Gowdy
said.
"I told Bob Mueller Tuesday that I would never do anything wittingly or unwittingly
that veered over into his lane and his lane is broad and it is undetermined at this point."
Later, Gowdy said that a major point of agreement between he and Cummings is they don't want
to impact Mueller's investigation.

There are lots of ways to get more assists in soccer.
In this OSA video we are going to cover weighting a pass and how this will help you get more
assists.
First what is a weighted a pass.
What does that mean?
Answer this question.
Is this a hard weighted pass or a soft weighted pass?
If you answered hard weight you are correct!
Now answer this question.
Is this a hard weighted pass or a soft weighted pass?
If you answered soft weight you are correct.
The weight on the pass is the speed at which you pass it.
Pass the ball fast and its a hard weighted pass.
Pass the ball slow and its a soft weighted pass.
Another way to describe this is the pace of the ball.
A fast pace pass or a slow pace pass.
Say that 5 times fast!
A fast pace pass or a slow pace pass.
A fast pace pass or a slow pace pass.
The great playmakers of the game understand it matters the weight they put on their pass.
They know not only does the pass need to be accurate it needs to be at a certain weight;
a certain pace.
Sometimes the weight of the pass is hard, sometimes medium and sometimes soft.
They decide the weight of the pass based on what the game shows them.
Key Points!
Key Point One.
Pass a Soft Weighted ball.
It should look like this.
Not this.
If your teammate has space and they are open for a shot do not put too much weight on the
pass because now they need to take a touch and then shoot.
That takes time and that time allows a defender to close them down.
A great playmaker will play a soft weighted pass in this situation so their teammate can
shoot on their first touch.
These little details and time savers matter as you move up levels in the game.
Key Point Two.
Its Not a Hospital Ball.
Some coaches will say dont play a hospital ball.
That means dont play the ball so slow that your teammate is going to get tackled so hard
by a defender because the ball didnt get their fast enough.
Im not suggesting you play a soft weight pass when your teammate has a defender close by
them.
In that situation you will want to pass it with more weight.
But in the situation we are describing its when your teammate has time and space to get
a first time shot off.
In this situation, the soft weighted pass is the smart thing to do versus just crush
the ball at your teammate.
Key Point Three.
Pass To Their Dominant Foot.
If your teammate is right footed dont pass it to their left foot.
Pass it to their right foot.
Also dont pass it straight at them.
Pass it to their dominant foot side.
You want to pass that ball so nice and perfect they have no option, but to shoot.
Key Point Four.
Study Highlights of Playmakers.
Youtube highlights from your favorite playmakers.
Study the weight of how they pass the ball in different situations.
Look for the plays when their teammate has space and they are in a good shooting situation
and the playmaker passes the ball with a soft weight instead of hard.
Key Point Five.
Make the Game Easy.
Great playmakers have the mindset to make the game easy for their teammates.
Dont think my teammate should just be able to control a hard pass.
Yes, of course they should be able to control a hard pass, but your job isnt to challenge
them in the heat of the moment during a massive game that you are trying to win.
Your job is to make it easy for them to score that game winning goal so when they run to
the sidelines celebrating they are turning around pointing at your for setting them up!
Exercise to Practice.
An exercise to practice on your own is a simple pass and shooting exercise.
You will need a partner, a few balls and a goal.
If you dont have a goal use a wall or fence as your goal.
If you dont have a wall or fence instead of shooting just pass the ball to a target up
field a bit.
The shooter should be 18 yards out with the balls.
You, the playmaker are at the 12 yard mark.
The shooter passes you the ball.
You control and pass the ball back with a soft weight to their dominant foot for them
to shoot.
After you do a two touch pass a few times try a one touch pass with a soft weight to
their dominant foot.
This will make it more challenging.
Switch with your partner when you are ready.
Whats Wrong!
If your teammate cant shoot on their first touch and they have to take two touches you
weighted the pass too hard.
If you weighted the pass soft and they are taking a second touch by choice instead of
shooting on their first touch then that is on them, not you.
My advice is to talk to them at halftime or after the game and give them some friendly
advice to shoot first time and be confident to take the shot if you play a soft weighted
pass.
Bonus Tip!
Weighted passes work in almost every pass situation, not just assist opportunities.
For example if you are a center back passing to your right back it matters how you weight
the pass.
Sometimes it needs to be a hard weight at your right back.
Sometimes it needs to be a medium weight into space in front of your right back so they
can run onto it and move the game forward.
You make the choice, but do what the game shows you.
Dont just hard weight the pass every time you pass it.

5 Things You Might Not Know About the New Nintendo 2DS XL - Duration: 3:21.
Arriving on store shelves later this month, the New Nintendo 2DS XL is the culmination
of years of refinement.
As a result of this, it's one of the best pieces of hardware Nintendo has ever put together.
These are bold words, but chosen with confidence; this new SKU has made changes, both big and
small, to arrive at a place where it's highly recommendable to a general audience.
To help highlight these changes, in this video we'll go over five things you might not know
about the New 2DS XL.
The moment that you pick up the New 2DS XL for your first time you'll notice that your
fingers rest squarely on the L and R shoulder buttons, something you might not be used to
after playing with prior models in the 2DS/3DS family.
Instead of using the same blocky design as its predecessors, Nintendo has chosen to chisel
the shape of these two buttons into something that perfectly fits the tips of your fingers
as you grab onto the edges of the device.
This might be a subtle change, but it's one that makes playing the handheld for long sessions
much more comfortable, especially in games that use these two buttons often (i.e.
Resident Evil Revelations).
The New 2DS XL is effectively the "Lite" version of the 3DS, reducing size and weight to achieve
optimized proportions.
Despite this, it doesn't sacrifice screen size.
This coincides with a weight reduction of 2.4 ounces, something your hands and arms
will notice when you use the device.
Nintendo appears to have taken comments about build materials seriously, because the New
2DS XL, although positioned as a mid-segment product, is a luxurious piece of hardware
by Nintendo standards.
Instead of having a matte finish to the left and right of the upper screen, it's entirely
glossy.
This finish gives it an appearance that is more akin to something like the PlayStation
Vita than what Nintendo fans may be used to, and that's a great thing.
Now, you might not be a fan of glossy finishes as they gather dust like a vacuum, but you
have to take into consideration that the handheld snaps shut to protect the glossy finish when
you aren't using it.
This means you can go days if not weeks without having to pull out a microfiber cloth.
In return, you get a better-looking handheld that doesn't look like its budget price would
suggest.
If you're used to your stylus being located in the middle of the device, and volume to
the left of the top-screen, then you're in for a bit of a surprise with the New 2DS XL.
The locations of everything but the primary face buttons have been moved around with this
device.
The home button is now below the d-pad, the front facing camera is located on the mid-joint
hinge, and the stylus is directly next to the downward-facing 3.5mm headphone jack.
Some of these locations are similar to the New 3DS XL, but with minor adjustments.
Once again, this takes some getting used to for fans of the 3DS, but what's here is more
logically composed.
Every previous 2DS/3DS console used front-facing speakers, with small holes cut out to allow
the sound to escape without too much penetration needed.
This time around, the speakers are located at the bottom, where there are two small oval-shaped
holes, similar to many smartphones.
This design means that the audio won't emanate directly toward your ears, which is a notable
change.
The smaller exit points also mean that a lot of the sound gets trapped inside the device,
resulting in constant vibration.
Whatever the reason for it, at the very least the sound is moderate in quality.
But you'll probably want to use headphones anyway.
