Trump Will Meet Putin Face To Face During Germany Summit

By Jack Davis

President Donald Trump will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his upcoming

trip to Germany, White House officials announced Thursday.

Trump will meet with Putin sometime during the G20 summit in Hamburg, which Trump will

attend after a brief trip to Poland.

The G20 summit begins Friday.

We have no specific agenda, said national security adviser H.R. McMaster.

Its really going to be whatever the president wants to talk about.

Gary Cohn, Trumps national economic adviser, also indicated the plans for the meeting were

fluid.

We dont have an agenda set up for these meetings right now, he said.

Vagueness also ruled on the Russian side.

They will meet on the sidelines of the G-20, Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.

If we are speaking about preparations for a separate meeting with Trump, no preparations

are being made for any separate meeting at the moment.

There is no progress yet, he said, reflecting a lack of consensus whether the meeting between

the two leaders would be brief and informal or a more formal session.

McMaster said that during Trumps various meetings on the trip, he hopes to develop

a common approach to Russia and for Americas European allies to develop

a more constructive relationship with Russia, but hes also made clear that we will do

what is necessary to confront Russias destabilizing behavior.

Trump will focus on containing Russias destabilizing behavior and come up

with a strategy to do that, McMaster said.

Nobody wants a major power at war.

What is it that we have to be able to put in place to be able to deter conflict?

he said.

McMaster said Russia will be treated like every other nation.

Our relationship with Russia is no different than any other country, said McMaster,

who said Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has played a lead role in the relationship

between the two countries.

McMaster said Trumps national security team has a three-pronged mission from the

president in dealing with Russia: confronting its destabilizing behavior, including

hacking and election interference; deterring Moscow from war; and developing areas of cooperation.

Were engaged in wide-ranging discussions about irritants and problems in the relationship

and areas to explore common interests and opportunities, McMaster said.

During Thursdays media briefing, White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee

Sanders was asked whether Trump would confront Putin about Russian hacking in the 2016 election.

Obviously Im not gonna get ahead of the presidents conversation, she said.

What do you think?

First paralyzed human treated with stem cells has regained upper body movement

In March of 2016, Kristopher (Kris) Boesen suffered a traumatic injury to his cervical

spine when his car fishtailed on wet road, sending his vehicle into a tree and then crashing

into a telephone pole. The accident left him paralyzed from the neck down and doctors warned

his parents that he may never regain motor control again.

They also said that he may qualify for an experimental new procedure, involving stem

cells, that could actually repair some of the damage.

They went for it and in April, Charles Liu, MD, PhD, director of the USC Neurorestoration

Center, in collaboration with Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center and Keck Medicine

of USC, began the procedure.

He injected an experimental dose of 10 million AST-OPC1 cells directly into Kris cervical

spinal cord.

Typically, spinal cord injury patients undergo surgery that stabilizes the spine

but generally does very little to restore motor or sensory function, explains Liu.

With this study, we are testing a procedure that may improve neurological function, which

could mean the difference between being permanently paralyzed and being able to use ones arms

and hands. Restoring that level of function could significantly improve the daily lives

of patients with severe spinal injuries.

Two weeks later, Kris began showing signs of improvement and within two months he was

able to feed himself, use his cell phone, write his name, operate a motorized wheelchair

and hug his friends and family.

As of 90 days post-treatment, Kris has gained significant improvement in his motor

function, up to two spinal cord levels, said Liu. In Kris case, two spinal cord

levels means the difference between using your hands to brush your teeth, operate a

computer or do other things you wouldnt otherwise be able to do, so having this level

of functional independence cannot be overstated.

All Ive wanted from the beginning was a fighting chance, said Kris, who has a

passion for fixing up and driving sports cars and was studying to become a life insurance

broker at the time of the accident. But if theres a chance for me to walk again,

then heck yeah! I want to do anything possible to do that.

This new, experimental medical branch is showing the immense value of neurorestoration and

regenerative medicine. Though doctors are reticent to predict Boesens future improvement,

there is no doubt that it has done something never thought possible before.

It Could Be infinity Trump the Cosmologist, Revives Nat'l Space Council - Duration: 5:03.

It Could Be infinity --Trump the Cosmologist, Revives Nat'l Space Council

President Donald Trump's ceremony Friday to sign executive order to resurrect an advisory

council that kick-started the first moon missions 60 years ago, went dormant in the 1990s, and

could now lead astronauts into deep space -- even Mars was a fascinating insight into

vision of space exploration: It was, as Trump would say according to the Washington Post,

"a big deal."

"At some point in the future, we're going to look back and say how did we do it without

space?" is how the president, a known space aficionado who once phoned astronauts in orbit

and asked them to hurry up and get to Mars, put it, kicking off the president's sometimes

baffling remarks about the cosmos.

"Our travels beyond the Earth propel scientific discoveries that improve our lives in countless

ways here," Trump said, listing new industry, technology and "space security" among the

benefits.

"At some point in the future, we're going to look back and say how did we do it without

space?" Trump then said, causing astronaut Buzz Aldrin's eyebrows to shoot up.

"The human soul yearns for discovery," Trump said, for example.

"Our journey into space will not only make us stronger and more prosperous, but will

unite us behind grand ambitions and bring us all closer together.

Wouldn't that be nice?

Can you believe that space is going to do that?"

The advisory group will also include Cabinet secretaries, the head of NASA and other administrators

-- almost none of whom were at the ceremony.

As Sarah Kaplan noted for The Washington Post, Trump has not even named a NASA administrator,

who will sit on the council.

Likewise for the director of Office of Science and Technology Policy, which was entirely

unstaffed as of Friday, according to CBS News.

"This is going to launch a whole new chapter for our great country," Trump said near the

end of his speech.

Then he sat down at a table and opened the executive order.

"I know what this is," he said.

"Space!"

"This is infinity here," he said enigmatically.

"It could be infinity.

We don't really don't know.

But it could be.

It has to be something -- but it could be infinity, right?"

Trump then signed the order and revived the National Space Council.

The following is a statement from acting NASA Administrator Robert Lightfoot about Fridays

Executive Order creating the National Space Council:

I am pleased that President Trump has signed an executive order reestablishing the National

Space Council.

The council existed previously from 1989-1993, and a version of it also existed as the National

Aeronautics and Space Council from 1958-1973.

As such, the council has guided NASA from our earliest days and can help us achieve

the many ambitious milestones we are striving for today.

This high-level group advises the president and comprises the leaders of government agencies

with a stake in space, including the NASA administrator, the Secretaries of State, Commerce,

Defense, and others, and will be chaired by Vice President Mike Pence.

It will help ensure that all aspects of the nations space power -- national security,

commerce, international relations, exploration, and science, are coordinated and aligned to

best serve the American people.

A Users Advisory Group also will be convened so that the interests of industries and other

non-federal entities are represented.

Remember When Kevin Durant Ruined the 4th of July? - Duration: 4:18.

What's up, guys?

For Complex News, I'm Justin Block.

Can you believe it's already been a year since Kevin Durant decided to leave the Oklahoma

City Thunder to team up with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green on the Golden

State Warriors?

It's hard to believe it's been 365 days since we spent the first half of the July

4th holiday refreshing our Twitter feeds and impatiently waiting for KD to make his big

announcement.

But despite the time that has passed, there are a lot of NBA fans who still haven't

forgiven KD for signing with the Warriors.

In the months leading up to last summer's NBA free agency, it was pretty clear that

KD was going to, at the very least, test out the market.

Reports emerged in March indicating that KD wanted to be courted by teams so that he could

see what other options he might have.

KD downplayed those reports and said, "I'm not that type of person," when he was asked

about them.

But by the time June rolled around, new reports proved that KD was going to meet with a handful

of NBA teams before deciding which one to sign with.

A few days before KD was set to become a free agent on July 1, ESPN reported KD was going

to meet with at least six teams.

His representatives had scheduled meetings with the Warriors, Spurs, Celtics, Heat, Clippers,

and of course, the Thunder.

The Knicks, Wizards, and Lakers were also reportedly trying to secure meetings with

KD but were unsuccessful.

It was shaping up to be exactly what KD wanted, based on the reports from March.

KD had so many meetings lined up that it seemed like it was probably going to take him at

least a week to make a final decision about where he was going to sign.

One report from The Oklahoman even suggested he might not announce his decision until July

9, which would have led to endless amounts of speculation and rumors.

But once the free agency period started, Yahoo!

Sports reporter Adrian Wojnarowski revealed KD was going to make his decision by July

4, and in the end, KD stuck to that plan.

KD spent three days meeting with all of the aforementioned teams, and there were all kinds

of conflicting reports about his meetings.

There were reports about how his initial meeting with the Thunder on July 1 "went well,"

but there was also a report that came out a short time later that indicated a meeting

with the Warriors had gone "very well."

It was hard to figure out who to believe and what direction KD was leaning in.

As the days went on, though, the Thunder and Warriors emerged as the favorites to land

KD's services, and after KD met with Oklahoma City one last time on July 3, NBA writers

started reporting that KD would be announcing his decision the following day.

The stage was set for KD to make one fan base incredibly happy—and another incredibly

angry.

But he probably couldn't have imagined the backlash he would receive once he made his

announcement.

KD later admitted he waited until the very last minute to make up his mind.

But when he woke up on July 4, he mulled over his decision one last time and then took to

his Twitter account to reveal which team he would be playing for during the 2016-17 NBA

season.

He sent out a link to a post he had written for The Players' Tribune called "My Next

Chapter" and that post immediately sent shock waves through the NBA community.

In it, KD revealed he would be leaving the Thunder and signing with the Warriors—and

many fans did not respond well to it.

Thunder fans started posting videos of them burning their KD jerseys right away.

"Kevin Durant, we blew up your jersey"

NBA fans as a whole started wondering why the league would even bother holding a 2016-17

NBA season since it seemed like the Warriors were going to win the title easily.

"So should we just give the warriors the championship title now or wait for them to

kill every team?"

The words "Damn KD" climbed to the top of Twitter's trending topics.

And even NBA players were shocked by the KD development.

Some said the Warriors would be unstoppable with KD, while others took not-so-subtle shots

at KD for signing with the Warriors.

"If u can't beat um join um"

Not everyone was mad at KD.

Warriors fans were obviously thrilled with his decision and couldn't wait to see him

suit up for the team.

They were coming off the heartbreak of watching the Warriors blow a 3-1 Finals lead to the

Cavaliers and knew KD would give them the best chance to bounce back and win another

title.

But for most people outside of the Bay Area, July 4, 2016—which is a day that should

have been celebrated with beer, burgers, and fireworks—was anything but a celebration.

And for those fans, this 4th of July is just another reminder of how KD changed the entire

landscape of the NBA with one decision.

Even one year removed from it, it's still hard for them to believe KD went with the

Warriors.

Lawrence Wright on Speaker Straus' "bathroom bill" comment - Duration: 2:19.

Let's talk about the current politics

and some of the specifics listed in your article.

It seems the pull quote everyone is retweeting

is one from House Speaker Joe Straus in reference to

his opposition of the so-called bathroom bill that would

regulate which bathrooms transgender Texans use.

He says, "I'm disgusted by all this.

Tell the lieutenant governor I don't want the

suicide of a single Texan on my hands."

What did you think when you heard that

given Straus' more measured responses in the past and

what does it say about the current state of politics here?

I was saying goodbye to him after interviewing him

and then he just said this off-the-cuff

that the lieutenant governor had sent a couple of

his emissaries senators over to see the speaker

and they were in the midst of a terrible argument

about the bathroom bill, which Straus firmly opposed.

He does this from the perspective of being

a business-oriented conservative.

And Dan Patrick, the lieutenant governor, is a

movement social conservative and so the

issues that matter to him and to his

people are things like immigration and bathroom bills

and so on. And this was at

the very last days of the session and

they were at loggerheads over the

bathroom bill and Patrick sent these emissaries

and apparently they had in an envelope,

a manila envelope, the terms that he would accept.

And one of the emissaries was an attorney

and said you know this language has been very

carefully crafted and that's when Straus says well,

"I'm not a lawyer, but I am a Texan and

I'm thoroughly disgusted by this and you go back and

tell lieutenant governor, I won't have the suicide of a

single Texan on my hands." What he meant by that

is the testimony that had taken place during

the arduous arguments over this bill.

So many transgender people had committed

suicide or attempted and so it's a serious problem.

And the way in which the Texas legislation

would stigmatize trans people would certainly add to it.

I think that's what the speaker was referencing.

It seems that I've gotten used to this forever-dreaming life

I haven't had a place to return home in so long, it seems

I leap from the second floor with my own two legs

And because it looked like I'd keep going from there, I ran away

Seeping up my deepening wound

The paths are connecting and spinning 'round

The pain I've become used to, my hurried breath, and the beat

I pretended like I didn't notice and again I was alone

Who is right? An inexistant eternity

Who was wrong? Shouldn't they be compensated?

That one you hate so much is surely just 'like that'

So isn't it unjust?

I've got zero points and offer up my idea

But no matter what I can't get my reasoning through

The starting line was here all along

And we never had a good plan, even from the start

Slowly and gently, it crumbles and breaks

Wrap it slowly around my neck

And the me from yesterday was killed

Slowly and gently, our scattered ennui

When I hear you speak unethically

It turns to a voice I don't know

Even when I was immature, when I came to realize you were there

It was as natural as the air itself

And I would tightly grasp your hand

Of the happy and the tearful, I would talk and tell you all

And the horrible voices that would laugh at me

You would sing as though you did not hear

I broadcast this voice out like a radio

I still tune in every night, no matter how painful

Throw it out, I'd say, get the hell out, oh it won't stop, hi-fi, zeitgeist

In the midst of one lap, in one moment

The beat, the sounds, the spun-together colors

Next is me, who shall sing a song to you

Slowly and gently, it crumbles and breaks

Wrap it slowly around my neck

And the me from yesterday was killed

Slowly and gently, our scattered ennui

When I hear you speak unethically

It turns to a voice I don't know

Slowly and gently, it crumbles and breaks

Wrap it slowly around my neck

And the me from yesterday was killed

Slowly and gently, our scattered ennui

When I hear you speak unethically

It turns to a voice I don't know

When will I reach you?

No, that time will never come, will it?

With no voice nor body

I'm just one out of a million you saved

Red and blue mix together

And the world overflows with it all

Spinning round and round we meet here and

If you listen to the sounds they all go [   ]

Slowly and gently, it crumbles and breaks

Wrap it slowly around my neck

And the me from yesterday was killed

Slowly and gently, our scattered ennui

When I hear you speak unethically

It turns to a voice I don't know

Slowly and gently, it crumbles and breaks

Wrap it slowly around my neck

And the me from yesterday was killed

Slowly and gently, our scattered ennui

When I hear you speak unethically

It turns to a voice I don't know

Thank you!

THOUGHTS OF A FATHER | The Parent and Pupil Coach Show | #06 - Duration: 2:29.

So last week my daughter came to me and she said that she now had a boyfriend

which is interesting since she's nine so there was that which was kind of sweet

and I asked her one of what makes him your boyfriend and she said because he

gave my brother a piggyback ride and he's nice okay fine

not a bad entry level at least so that was that then yesterday she said to me

that um he'd said to her that he loves her and I said how do you reply and she

said I didn't say anything I said okay and then she said to me but I think I

love him as well I said well that's lovely

that's very nice so she dropped the elbow on me and I thought okay now is

there any other way we could use possibly because love is kind of a

pretty powerful one and I was offering her other choices saying that maybe she

could just say they shouldn't cares for him you know the affectionate for him

and maybe other ways that's what les the yes because II the l-bomb of on what

that means and I just explained that how maybe there's number of stages how you

can care for someone and you can feel loved someone rather necessary being in

love with someone so that was kind of interesting it happened

okay yesterday so we'll see what happens today if I get any update on that but I

just thought it was something to share because sometimes we kind of go to those

extremes between kind of love and hate his kids and I thought well I want to

explain that give her a few steps in between those

two points between the love and caring for someone

and have an affection for someone and liking what they do and it is always

kind of nice to share

you

Welcome Video - Duration: 2:46.

Good morning, lovelies. As I'm about to start my second series of feminist

centered shows on my channel, I thought it was time to introduce myself and

explain to anyone who's interested - which may be no one, but - explain to anyone

who's interested exactly what my channel is all about. For those of you who don't

know, I am Cambrey Payne. I am autistic, I am a trans non-binary person, I'm a

full-time student studying Gender Studies and English literature and

Creative Writing, and I am also a writer and sort of musician... ish... kind of. I am

also a single parent of three. I think that's all you really need to know about

me. I am pretty interested in social justice. I often talk about feminism and

social justice as if they're interchangeable, I guess for me they are,

but I appreciate that not everyone sees things the same way. Um, and on that note

I have two shows now on my channel. The first has been running for a while, it's

called Adventures in Misandry. It's a show all about various feminist, queer,

sometimes racial topics - obviously, as a white person, I have to be kind of

careful talking about race, but I still think it's important that we do - these

videos are probably not going to make a lot of sense if you're not already part

of the feminist community. There's some in jokes, there's a lot of assumed

knowledge that can take a little while to develop, so if you're new to

feminism, this probably isn't going to appeal

to you. You might not understand why the title is meant to be humorous rather

than offensive, those kind of things. So if you are new to feminism, my new show

Camsplains is probably more your speed. It's aimed at being a little bit more

accessible to people who aren't in the feminist community, who are curious, who

maybe are anti-feminist even, just explaining where we're coming from, the

concepts that we use, the language that we use, to make it a little less

confusing. I know, having been part of the feminist community for a while, we tend

to forget that people outside don't always understand what we're

talking about, and that can be pretty alienating, so I want to do what I can to

make our community more inclusive to those of you who maybe aren't familiar

with us. Thanks for watching, thanks for visiting my channel. I hope you can

enjoy some of what I'm offering, and I will hopefully see you in one of my

other videos. Bye!
