hello people are you going today this is Glen from goomar the coins and banknotes
and in today's issue I'm going to show you the paper banknotes that are used in
Vietnam first off these current issues so they
actually currently circulate and they actually circulate along the coins
personally I've never been to Vietnam but I have a lot of people that have
been to Vietnam or they people are Vietnamese descent and they specifically
say that the coins from 200 to 5,000 dong and I used and they used to bake
notes instead so if we can have a look now this is the lowest denomination I
have they do have a $100 but I hear that is not that common so this is the 200 on
of 1987 and these replaced it Billy your issue with just larger I mean this one
that's roughly value over 1 strains in so on the front local Vietnamese
banknotes Dave Ho Chi Minh he was a leader of Vietnam from 1945 to
1969 that's when he died and his proponent in the war of the North
Vietnamese against the self or unification of Vietnam and we have the
coat of arms of Vietnam there on the reverse we have a tractor there we have
people who are collecting a harvest most likely probably wait it looks like it
doesn't quite rice so it's a pretty simple Bank now he has a flower pattern
as a watermark KD 500 dong it's the same as Ho Chi mean the coat of
arms if order mark is also flattened and your son was issued in 1988 okay
here I have no it's not consecutive it must be the elevators on the reverse II
has a Vietnamese poor doesn't specifically stay which port and had
just those ships getting loaded with
modern whatever they're exporting and it's just a typical modern port you'll
find in any country then we have two one thousand Dom so the one thousand five
persons probably most common because I this one's worth five cents
oh I'm mm I'm sorry because they bit higher value so has Ho Chi Minh this
one's on Eddy edge as well coat of arms and on the reverse eat has
elephant doing a heavy duty as in replacement of attract or whatever and
this is logging so you got a person now that person standing there looks like
he's doing mining I'm not too sure so this is um forestry okay thing I should
say is up here yuen-han not Vietnam that decides to stay pink of Vietnam this is
the denomination morning Don so the donk so just means one person Dom in at the
top here that just say the D Socialist Republic or paint now that's basically
all the descriptions that are on that these bank notes okay here we have 2000
Dom he has the same water Marquis also flow pattern it's a bit hard to see
because of the printing needs to a consecutive
okay so I've 405 its Ho Chi Minh and the coat of arms again and on the reverse we
have wound well um looks like they're just spinning raw product probably
cotton wool into Fred so that's actually quite nice I like the blue and the brown
background than that okay the next one we have is a five passenger okay this is
open so consecutive and I'll cut these from a friend who just visited Vietnam
okay this one's 1991 what you mean in the coat of arms again and this one
specifically does not have any watermarks on it
they say 91 the value of it is probably 25 cents so it's really not worth
putting watermarks on these type of banknotes anymore okay on the reverse we
have a hydroelectric dam and powerlines obviously that theme still been built
because of the crane name okay so that's what you need to know about that one
okay so they are all deep paper banknotes including the $100 you might
be able to get it better in circulation in the to you Louis polymer banknotes at
least 10,000 on these are issued in 2006 well I'll go boom of this so this one's
2009 to first numbers are the issue like in Australia so it's hoped you mean the
coat of arms the watermark is looks like the type of pagoda no I've done up
because I'm not too sure and on the reverse we have all Derrick's so these
actually pump out the oil and probably self trying to see all the coasts of it
and one of security features is this round circle here
so in Reverse they should be able to join up and also this window here with
just ten thousand in it he also marker lettering here and this Bank nurse worth
about 50 cents and the second lowest polymer banknote ease the $20,000 here
this one's 2014 so Uncle Ho in the coat of arms so he has a more sophisticated
security feature up here there's another security features are like to 20,000
yeah that would be like a security thread and a water my keys Ho Chi Minh
okay the see free windows 20 person in it so
if you don't see any of those features then it's most likely fake and also in
the reverse it has a reflective silver not too sure what you call silver stripe
not silver gold drop in 2020 person in and also this has the what is a code
again cha - ah it is a bridge for Guardian and Hawaii
you know hi I'm sorry I pronounced that wrong and this bridge was built in 1763
to replace the number bridge that was built in 1593 that was destroyed and
wikipedia has lots of images of this pagoda and probably youtubers lots of
videos as well so it's quite an interesting the design of the pagoda is
actually a lot better than what it's actually portrayed in its on this
banknote okay thank you so those faint notes of Vietnam thank
you very much for watching and if you ever go to Vietnam
these are what you should be using in circulation
so if you're like me and these banknotes please give it a thumbs up I'll put a
link down below if you're interested in buying Vietnamese fake notes on eBay
generally you don't get that many forgery soft banknotes from Vietnam on
eBay and an awesome banknote collecting day
