Underrated Horror Gems On Netflix You Need To See - Duration: 6:27.For every horror movie that gets a mainstream audience, there are a dozen that fly under
the radar on their release.
So where can you find all the great horror movies you've never heard of?
One word: Netflix.
These underrated horror gems never got the attention they deserved, but now you can revel
in all the terror they have to offer from the comfort of your living room.
Holidays
Anthology horror has been making a comeback, and this dark riff on seasonal celebrations
is one of the lesser-known gems in the genre.
Eight different directors, including Kevin Smith and Gary Shore, contributed a creepy
pint-sized nightmare on a holiday theme.
Like most anthology films, not every one of these scary stories will hit home, but that's
also part of the charm.
The wildly inventive story lines and diverse approaches showcased in each of its short
films make Holidays the kind of movie that has something for everyone.
Hard Candy
Long before she was a well-known name in Hollywood, Ellen Page was the young star of this immensely
disturbing movie about a 14-year-old girl who's targeted by a middle-aged predator,
played by Patrick Wilson—only for the predator to realize he's the hunted, not the hunter.
Page carries the movie to a crazy conclusion that left no question about her star potential
at the time.
The controversial premise and minuscule budget made Hard Candy a tough sell when it came
to a traditional release.
But despite being awarded Overlooked Film of the Year at the 2006 Phoenix Film Critics
Society Awards, the movie has continued to be a hidden and little-seen gem.
Curve
In this horror flick about a road trip gone wrong, Julianne Hough stars as Mallory, a
bride-to-be whose car breaks down in the wild en route to her wedding rehearsal.
When a charming but sadistic hitchhiker enters the picture, Mallory's last hurrah as a single
girl turns into a fight for survival: she crashes her car and ends up trapped at the
bottom of a gulch, while the hitchhiker who survived the crash returns periodically to
taunt her.
Curve should've made a bigger splash than it did, but it got lost in early 2016 and
went straight to streaming.
However, the theater's loss was Netflix's gain, so catch it on the streaming service
before it disappears 'round the bend.
The Lazarus Effect
Released in 2015, this movie about a serum that can bring people back to life was almost
completely overlooked.
On sheer star power alone, The Lazarus Effect is virtually unmatched in an under-the-radar
horror movie, with Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass, Donald Glover, Sarah Bolger, and Evan Peters
all working their magic to elevate a less-than-inspired concept into legitimately scream-worthy territory.
And while it's true that the script could be tighter, don't believe the lack of hype
on this one: The Lazarus Effect is a far better movie than its low rating on Rotten Tomatoes
would suggest.
1922
Netflix definitely knew what it was doing when it snagged this little story for a screen
adaptation.
Based on a novella from Stephen King's Full Dark, No Stars anthology, 1922 stars Thomas
Jane as Wilfred James, a farmer living in rural Nebraska during the period leading up
to the Great Depression.
Money troubles and marital conflict lead Wilfred to some very dark places—and it just goes
to show that sometimes, getting away with a crime is much worse than getting caught.
"I'd axed my wife to keep my home.
The only way I'd be leaving it now would be in chains."
Like many of Stephen King's best works, this is a character-driven horror, and strong performances
make it a standout—particularly from Jane, who immerses himself in the role so thoroughly
that it's hard to believe this same miserable, hay-chewing yokel is the same cosmopolitan
pretty boy from The Sweetest Thing.
"You're never gonna find anyone better than my brother here.
Here is the greatest and I am sure.
Just look at him, chicks freak on this guy."
Creep
In 2014, filmmaker Patrick Brice set out to answer the question "What's the worst thing
that could happen from meeting someone on Craigslist?"
Without spoiling anything, let's just say that the answer is something really bad.
That's what a videographer discovers when he goes to the home of Josef—played by Mark
Duplass, who also co-wrote and produced the movie—for what's supposed to be a documentary
project.
What starts out as the ordinary weirdness of internet strangers becomes something much
more disturbing.
"Oh that's Peach Fuzz.
That's just Peach Fuzz.
Say hello."
The result is a movie that more than lives up to its title.
Gerald's Game
With so many blockbusters the big screen in 2017, you might have missed some of the smaller
adaptations of Stephen King's works—including this one based on the 1992 novel of the same
name.
Gerald's Game centers on a woman named who ends up trapped, handcuffed to the bed at
her lake house after her husband has a heart attack.
As she struggles to find a way to escape, she's visited by a series of entities—some
real, some imagined, and some that seem to straddle the line between this world and the
next.
"Who are you?"
One of Netflix's original feature films, Gerald's Game was eagerly anticipated by hardcore King
fans but didn't get the kind of widespread attention merited by its creativity and star
power.
Despite the obvious challenges of holding down an entire two-hour film on her own, actress
Carla Gugino keeps it riveting, making this the finest horror movie set almost entirely
on a bed since, well, maybe ever.
Unless you count Bed of the Dead.
A Dark Song
This Irish independent horror movie flew under the radar when it released in 2017, but the
handful of film buffs who did see it were impressed—and with good reason.
A Dark Song centers on a grieving mother who hires an occultist to guide her through a
complex, months-long rite at a remote home in the Welsh countryside.
Despite a teensy budget and a very green director at its helm, A Dark Song boasts incredible
production values and phenomenal sound work that subverts the usual tried-and-true horror
film tropes.
Instead, the film revels in the slow burn and deliberately draws out the tension.
In the end, this entry is a deep, dark, and gorgeously acted meditation on loss that builds
into a harrowing and unexpected climax.

Vacation Rental Potential Episode 7 | 5 to Know - Duration: 2:05.If your property's big enough for large groups, multiple families,
extended families or business groups, here are five things to know
about how to be ready for those groups.
For dishes and cutlery, I like to make sure I have
double the number my home can accommodate.
That way while one set is washing
in the dishwasher, another set is ready for the next meal.
I also like to have four types of glasses on hand:
red wine, white wine, tumblers and water glasses.
That way most drink types are covered.
It's important that you have a hot water tank large enough that when
your guests get up, they can all have a hot shower.
There's nothing that can start your vacation off on the wrong foot,
more than being the last one up, and having to take an ice-cold shower.
Large groups can be tough on plumbing, and that means
trouble if you've got a septic tank.
Is your septic tank big enough to handle large groups?
Repairing or replacing an inadequate septic tank can be
an expensive nightmare down the road.
And you certainly don't want it to impact your guests' vacation.
Having multiple living spaces ensures there's room for everyone to coexist.
Without enough space, large groups can get in each other's way,
and a fun vacation can quickly turn stressful.
A separate TV or recreation room is ideal for large
groups to break away from each other.
Kids for example, can have one room
while adults have another.
Even outdoor living space like a deck or screened-in porch,
allows some guests to escape all the noise and activity happening inside.
Large groups usually travel with multiple vehicles, so make sure your
property has plenty of parking.
Parking for 2 to 4 vehicles is a must.
And, have offsite parking options ready for guests
if they need more than you can provide.
Keep these tips in mind and the large groups staying in your property,
will be well on their way to having a trouble-free
and enjoyable vacation together.

Don't miss any videos from us, and let's get into the story time
I
Am pretty sure I was 11 years old and my entire family my dad has
Sister
So all of him and his siblings and their children and my grandma we all went to
Universal Studios we stayed in Kissimmee, Florida. It was a lot of fun and we went to Universal Studios and
It was a lot of fun until it wasn't I?
Went on to rights
The first right I don't remember the second ride we went on the Shrek riot, and this is the first time that like
40 was cut out, so they had like spider blowing spiders, but it was just like wind blowing at your feet, and they had
When junkies sneeze they would spread water at you, and it was so much fun
But for those of you who have never been to Florida before it is
Extremely hot there it is so hot at Universal Studios. They have these huge machines shaped like coke bottles and
They blow mist at you, so you can ignore
people visitors can stop in
Go in the mist machine
And then come back and you'll pretty much dry off because of how hot it is there
I see my cousin's go in like a couple of my cousin's go in there like oh yes miss machine
This is gonna be great, and then I turn to my dad
And I say to him
Daddy if I go in this mess
Will you wait for me, and he says all?
So I
Go in with my other cousin his name is Vito shout out to people if you're watching
she goes in and then I go in so there was maybe like a
Two to three second mass difference between when we both went in the machines we stayed there for about
maybe five seconds and then
I knew that I came in after him so I thought to myself okay. I'm going to give it to
Five seconds and then I'm going to come in so I see him come out and then I counted one two
three four five came out and
Everybody was gone I mean
Nobody was there nobody waited for me
Nothing, I kind of stand there in panic for a little bit because I'm 11 years old
And I just got left at Universal Studios
And I knew that the right thing to do was to not try to go looking for them
So I just sat on a bench nearby
I
Think the machines were right by the bathrooms, so I just sat down on a bench that was outside and I waited
We did and waited and
As I was waiting there was this gentleman who?
He looked a little intimidating he had on cargo pants, and he didn't appear to be with anybody
he was just kind of pacing around nearby and he saw me and then he saw me see him so we saw each other and
then he
Went like he went to a bench that was kind of hitting corner to where I wasn't he was just sitting there staring at me
For a bit so I felt really uncomfortable, and I didn't feel like being kidnapped at Universal Studios at least not today
So I went to the bathroom I came back out
Sat there by this point it is now dark
I haven't gotten to go on any rides, and I'm just sitting there and
I think like people might have come up to me once and like asked if I was okay
But because I was afraid of being kidnapped. I said okay
I'm just you know waiting for my mom and the bathroom and then eventually
My uncle comes running up to me and just like oh my goodness like we were looking for you
This is crazy. Where were you and I was like. I literally was here the entire time
Coming to find out
My family went on a bunch of rides like they went on maybe like three rides before they realized that I was gone
I guess my uncle was like I came here like I lived here. How are you not here?
And so I think what happened was at the time that I went in the bathroom
What happened to be the time that my uncle came back to the mess machine and looked for me?
so he didn't see me because I was hiding in the bathroom from the kidnapper and
Then by the time he left I was like by the time I came out. He was gone
So took up another few hours for them and to look for me and so then
Everybody was so afraid and they were you know like grateful that they found me, but years later come to find out my dad
Completely denied ever saying that he would wait for me
and so maybe he didn't hear me when I said that but
It's a little funny. Story that comes up all the time now, and I have not been back to Universal Studios
Since it's not because I'm afraid. I just haven't had the opportunity
So I don't know what rights they went on I have no idea
I'd never get to see the wonderful magic of Universal Studios. I didn't get to experience
All these places that I would have loved to experience, but I did learn a lesson
And I also learned that I am much smarter than I think so that's the end of the story time if you've had anything similar
To my situation then go ahead and leave your story in the comment box below
