Waching daily Jan 7 2018

Putin sends Christmas greetings to all Orthodox Christians.

The president, according to his own traditions, celebrated the holiday outside Moscow.

This time he went to Church of Saints Simeon and Anna in St. Petersburg, one of the oldest churches in the city.

Head of the state attended the service with other believers and gifted the old icon to the church.

From St. Petersburg comes a report from my colleague Alexey Petrov.

One of the oldest church in St. Petersburg reflects the history of all the country.

The church was founded by Tsaritsa Anna Ivanovna.

In 1938 the church was closed and looted (by communists) and premises was converted to storage space.

Only in the 90s the service was reestablished.

Some people are coming here regularly, some are just discovering this church.

My parents just came and my name is Anna, so my mother told me that we need to go to the Church dedicated to St. Anna today.

Among churchgoers, one can also see Vladimir Putin.

For the head of the state, himself as many other believers, light a candle in this church with particilar meaning to him.

It is known that his father was baptised here.

President and all others serving for the fatherland are mentioned for multiple times in the prayers.

For our Russian state, the president, people, to remember God in His Kingdom...

Biography of the priest Oleg Skobl is an example that God works in mysterious ways.

The future priest was an actor and in the cinema; after becoming a priest he has a blessing to continue to write poems and play music.

Today many parishioners are coming with their whole families, and here with the Bible in their heads are telling their children about Christ.

We are telling them that it is necessary to believe and God is everywhere, in all hearts,

And everywhere, in every event and good deeds

What does Christmas mean for you?

Well... when all people are happy... Christ is born, marry holiday...

Vladimir Putin is regularly attending services for major church holidays

For Easter, he is traditionally in the Church of Christ the Savior (Moscow),

he celebrates Christmas outside the Moscow.

Sochi, Karelia, Tverskaya and Kamstreskaya region, even Yakutia (Far East)

For example, in the last year, he was in at Yuriev Monastery in Veliky Novgorod

Christmas is time for gifts.

According to tradition, the head of the state gifted an icon from the XIX century to the old church.

The Last Jedi - Pijama Rant - Duration: 14:54.

Greetings Earthlings!

Welcome to the Madqueen Show!

I am your host, the MadQueen

Oh today's menu we're back at our sofa to talk about Star Wars the Last Jedi and

before I start I must say that this will contain spoilers, so if you didn't watch it, this

video may not be for you, and you really should stop whatever you're doing, like watching

this video and go to watch Star Wars

I'm really shocked that this film had a lot of negative reviews, sometimes I feel

like I watched a different film than the rest of the universe, and I obviously don't say

that like my taste is universal and if someone disagrees with me is wrong, but the reasoning

behind people not liking this film is something that I fail to understand

Star Wars films are like the force, if you try to rationalize them too much they become

something really absurd, full of midiclorians and shit and one of the reasons we like Star

Wars so much is because most of us watched it when we were kids, and when you're a

kid and you watch a film you just enjoy it without asking too many questions, you ask

them later, you don't spend the film trying to get a sense out of it beyond the plot,

or comparing it with other films, because you're a kid and didn't watch many yet,

and actually that's the way I watch films, I try my best to watch every film like I'm

a kid again, enjoy it and then ask the questions later

And I know a lot of people who don't do that because they feel the need to outsmart

the film and the filmmakers, and I find it really absurd, because this makes you miss

the experience and that's a pity

In general, I love the work that JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson are doing with this new trilogy,

I think that they completely understood what Star Wars is about, and what made the original Star Wars films so

great and they are trying to replicate it, but at the same time the background is completely

new so the story resonates with the world we live in now, but as background and not

as base, which is something that Science Fiction always does, it takes place in the future,

or in the past in this case, because it happened a long time ago in a galaxy far away, but

it's a futuristic setting, it takes a futuristic setting to talk about universal themes and

themes that belong to the times when the work is written, science fiction has always been

a vessel to discuss the most controversial subjects with metaphors that make them easier

to digest, emotionally speaking, and that's what makes science fiction so fantastic, you

can watch or read it like a kid and enjoy it, and later be an adult again and you'll

have a lot of questions to make about what you've seen there

Unless you try with Stanislaw Lem's Solaris, there's no way you can enjoy that as a kid

No human way

The thing about Star Wars is that this is something that hasn't been done before

We're talking about a story that started more than 30 years ago and it's so popular

they don't try to explain it to you anymore, you don't need to be remembered who is Leia,

who is Luke and who is Han, this is something you already know

it's not like every new Batman when you need to see again

how Wayne's parents got shot, we moved on from origin stories, they tried with episode

1 and they failed miserably, but at this point we're in, the Star Wars universe is a universe

with historical context

And you see an old Star Destroyer that crashed on Jakku and that's all you need to remind

that 30 years ago there was a war against the Empire, and who won the war, and also

what was lost in that war

So, we have a sci-fi setting with historical context and this historical context is something

that lives in the popular imagination the same way your own history lives, this

makes the new trilogy so special, and if someone says that this was already done with Star

Trek, I know there are Trekkies hidden out there, I see you, Star Trek's story doesn't

live in the popular imagination, people know what's the Enterprise is and who is Spock,

and a few more details, but that's it

So, we have a scifi setting with historical context and then we have the typical good

vs evil story, and in the original trilogy we had the Empire that were Nazis, with their

Empire outfits designed to look like SS uniforms, which are the quintessential bad guys, but

we're in the times we're in now, and no one is afraid of Hitler anymore, now we're

afraid of the 20 something white guy that collects Hitler memorabilia and is a Hitler

fanboy and cheers sig heil with a Tiki torch in his hand, and the rest of the time complains

like an emo kid that his voice is not heard loud enough and this is Kylo Ren

Kylo Ren is a very interesting character with a very interesting development, way more interesting

than any other character in the new trilogy

And he's actually way worse than Darth Vader, and I don't mean in a sense of powerful

in the force, but in a sense of how he's portraying a reality we're living now, he's

the 20 something white man that knows the story, knows the atrocities that the Empire

did in the past, looks at them and says "This

We need to repeat this

But, you know, worse"

That's the real boogie man, who cares about the Supreme Leader?

He was only there to give Ren a purpose and he dies like puf!

Gone

No background for the character, no origins, no info, no need for that

All the speculation that went on about who he really was before the film was out, that

was amazing, and long

No need for that

Snoke doesn't need a context, he is the context himself, that goes on to make the

character of Ren evolve and when he's not needed anymore he's out

And he's out in a very interesting scene where Ren offers his hand to Rey and says

"No light side, no dark side, just us"

He says he wants to be a renegade, but keeping his ideals of "bringing order to the galaxy"

so what kind of renegade is that?

And Rey is like, "well, Ren, I don't care how much you twist your narrative, you're

still a neo-nazi, so take your proposal and shove it up into your butthole"

Leading the New Order is not a way to be a renegade so, Ren, my love, to stop being a

bad guy you need to stop doing the things that a bad guy does, just changing the words

you use to refer to yourself doesn't change a damn thing

And then they fight, and then the Kyber crystal inside the lightsaber explodes and I just

loved that detail

Because this new trilogy takes a lot from the expanded universe, like this or the weapons

that the Red Guard use, and I found very funny that the weapons that the New Order use are

prepared to fight a lightsaber, when Episode 7 starts with the alleged extinction of the

Jedi order, so what would they need it for?

Another thing that I loved from The Last Jedi is how they keep the sense of humor of the

original trilogy, that is something that was lost in episodes 1, 2, and 3, and I don't

understand the criticism about the humor in here like, didn't you watch the original

trilogy?

"Would it help if I got out and pushed?"

The original had a lot of jokes, mostly from Han, with the first 25 minutes of Return of

the Jedi you could make a comedy show pilot film, "How are you doing, Luke?"

"You know, as usual" "That bad, huh?"

As I said before, maybe we watched a different film, because I remember the original having

a lot of comedy, and now Han off the humor to Poe Dameron…

I know that was an awful joke

Well, at least Poe Dameron is a better comic relief than Jar Jar Binks

But humor also evolves, this is a film for another generation and it needs a humor for

them, and the scene of the iron was brilliant

Maybe Domhall Gleeson was a bit exaggerated for my taste, being such a good actor that

can be so scary, but we don't want Hux to take the dramatic weight of Kylo Ren, so I

understand the intention but I'm not totally convinced

Same with the scene where Leia uses the force to get back to the ship, I understand that

they want to explain how powerful Leia really is, but I'm not quite convinced with the

way this scene turned out

And then, Rey

The character of Rey also takes a lot of criticism that comes from past film for being able to

beat a trained emo kid Sith Lord without no training in the force at all, well, the thing

is that the force is a gift

You can train it to perfect it, but it's a gift, is not something you learn

And some people are more gifted than others

Can you imagine in real life a 4-year-old kid playing the piano with no training in

music beyond hearing his father play?

No, that's impossible!

Well, that's Mozart

Wow, I can't believe that!

That's why you failed

Because, again, Star Wars films are like the Force

And the fact that you need an explanation of why Rey is so gifted is the reason why

we got midiclorians in the first place, because that's the wrong question, the Force is

something magical and mystical, but even being that way I fail to see how she facing up an

emo kid who just got shot by Chewie's Bowcaster, remember that weapon? That creates the magical

flying stormtroopers and Ren stands the shot without moving an inch, and then spends all

the fight with Rey beating the wound to numb it, I mean, he's severely wounded, how could

he stand a fight in that condition?

Beating the crap out of a severely wounded Sith is not such a big deal, they weren't

in the same conditions, Ren was in a clear disadvantage, again, did we watch a different film?

Anyway I still have the theory that Obi Wan helped her in that fight, but that's a different

story, the thing is that in The Last Jedi she's reaching her potential, and she's

really gifted, she's so gifted she dreamed all her life with the Jedi temple, so she

learns quicker, the same as Leia, we're told in past film that she has no training

in the force at all, even being Yoda's wish in his deathbed: teach what you learned to your sister

but she's extremely gifted and powerful, she can use the force to protect

herself in space and bring the Force soul of Luke to fight the New Order, a thing that

up to that point we thought that only Snoke could do

But she can

With no training at all

Because she's Carrie Fisher and I don't need more explanation than that

And, talking about Leia, I'm the only one who thinks that Leia and Holdo had a thing?

I think it's hinted with the way they treat each other, they really look like they were

lovers which I would completely understand, they're both the maximum level of badassery

possible

And Holdo's sacrifice, cutting the Supremacy Star Destroyer in two was just so badass oh

my god I love Laura Dern

So, in general, not counting the posh Mos Eisly Canteen casino scene, I liked the film

a lot, I won't put a number to this "like a lot" thing, I don't believe in ratings,

but I liked it a lot

I think Disney is doing a great job with this reinterpretation of Star Wars, and if I was

told that Disney would do that when they bought the franchise I wouldn't believe it but,

yes, great job

Yes, I'm doing this, extremely good job

But I was sold anyway when they hired JJ Abrams for the first film, that is also true

Well, folks, thanks for watching, please leave a comment and let me know what did you think

of The Last Jedi, I'd love to know your thoughts

See you in next videos and stay being amazing

Short Story | Ko'd My Friend | BFG - Duration: 2:17.

Yo, what is up guys it's your boy brutal and today I'm going to be talking about how I

accidentally knocked out my friend.

So this took place freshman year.

While at school my friends and I where like we should box at Tim's house.

Cause I have a boxing ring in my backyard.

So I agreed to it of course, cause I knew it wouldn't be serious.

So as the day was going on, I was hanging out with my other friends cause I didn't have

my main friends in any of my classes.

I was telling everyone cause, what else was I going to talk about?

So as the school day came into an end we all took the bus to my house.

and when we got to my house I went into my room and started playing some Xbox with 2

of my 3 friends.

We were waiting for my other friend too show up cause he was the one who wanted to box

me.

So after about an hour of waiting he actually showed up.

I was like "Jesus you took forever" and he was like.

"yeah, dude my mom was being a bitch" So after talking about all that boring crap.

I got my UFC gloves and gave him a pair.

I honestly can't take anything seriously so I was just doing stupid random crap.

But he was getting tired and told me to take it seriously.

so I was like "fine.

are you sure?"

He was like "yeah that's cool."

LITTLE DICKY SONG - PILLOW TALKING LOL That was a reference to a Lil Dicky song by

the way.

but anyways he threw some punches and I threw some punches.

until he threw a punch, I leaned to my left and threw a hard ass left hook to his jaw.

I did that completely on accident.

Then he fell to the floor and didn't move.

I fucking started dying of laughter when he started making grunting noises.

My other 2 friends that were watching were dying of laughter as well.

I don't know if he was overreacting or not, cause he usually did about everything.

but after like 2 minutes on the ground he got up and was like, "damn dude, that was

good.

you fucking knocked me out" I was like. is that what you were wanting

then he sat down and had the most disappointed look on his face.

it was quite funny actually.

so if you guys enjoyed my story at all make sure to leave a like and if you wanna see

more cancerous shit make sure to subscribe and help

me reach 150 subs cause we are getting close to hitting it.

but anyways guys its been your boy brutal here...later

Rocket Science 11 - Supersonic & Max speed - Duration: 5:13.

Hey Guys, HalfwayDead here. This video is very important to me because I don't know

any other topic where people will claim all kinds of things with the authority of an expert,

while being completely wrong. So if you see one of those cases then please link them this

video.

Alright first, let's get some facts straight. Supersonic speed is everything above 2200

uu/s. That's when your car starts getting the trails, your FOV expands an extra 5°

and you get those windy particle animations. It's also the required speed for demolitions.

But! It is not the maximum speed of the car. The maximum speed is 2300 uu/s so about 4.5%

faster. It's not going to make a difference in a lot of scenarios but if you're trying

to get to the ball as fast as possible every little bit counts. That's why it is kind of

unfortunate that there is no way to know how close you are to max speed. The best way to

be at guaranteed max speed is to tap your boost for an additional 1/10th of a second

after you hit supersonic. That is enough to get from 2200 uu/s to 2300 uu/s. Whenever

you activate boost it will be on for at least 13 physics frames. The game runs with 120

ticks per second so a very short tap will suffice to reach maximum speed.

Now to tackle one topic where I see a lot of misconceptions. As long as you're holding

"Drive forward" or "Powerslide" and you keep driving in a straight line you will not lose

any speed. This is true at any speed. However as soon as you turn, your speed will slow

down. The only way to make sure it's always as high as possible is to constantly boost

but that will also waste a lot of boost. So I've experimentally determined how you can

stay the fastest speed possible without wasting any boost. This depends on the car preset

because some will lose speed faster than others when turning. For the Breakout you will need

to tap boost every 24th physics tick. For the Dominus it's every 27th and all other

presets require every 26th. If you want to practice this you can download any metronome

app for your phone and set it to the bpm value of the preset you're using. When done perfectly,

this technique will keep you at an average speed of over 2270 uu/s without wasting any

boost. Just holding it will keep you at 2300 but it will use about twice as much boost.

Staying at maximum speed while turning isn't the fastest way to do U-turns though. Just

keep that in mind when playing.

Ok, that covers the ground mechanics but I still haven't gotten to the point which I

see people get wrong very frequently. And that is about exceeding the max speed. It

is not a limit of the boost or the engine. It is an absolute hard cap. That means you

can never ever under any circumstance go faster than 2300 uu/s. Not with bumping, dodging,

wavedashing or anything. And yes, I am 100% sure about this. Let's take a look at what

happens if the car is already at max speed and it get's accelerated further. In this

example the car has a horizontal velocity of 2300 uu/s and a vertical velocity of 0

uu/s but now gravity accelerates the car downwards with 650 uu/s². I'm going to calculate this

as if the physics engine was using just 1 tick per second because it gives more interesting

numbers. Therefore, for our 2nd timestep the vertical component should increase by 650

uu/s. Using the Pythagorean theorem we can calculate the total velocity. It is 1.039

times the maximum speed. But here is where the hard cap comes in to save the day. By

dividing the speed vector by this figure, we get a total speed that is exactly 2300

uu/s again. This has an interesting sideeffect. The car is also falling slightly slower now

than it would be if it had no horizontal speed. This effect gets stronger, the longer the

car falls. It would also happen with the ball but it has a maximum speed of 6000 uu/s so

you will never really see that in a normal game.

How To Go About Making A Golf Swing Change - Duration: 5:56.

Hello.

I am Brian Fitzgerald The Golf Doctor.

And today's video was inspired by a lesson that I gave during the week to a client.

And ah it's all really about how to make a swing change.

So when we make a swing change.

How do we go about it and how long do we persevere for it.

So if you are interested in this topic stay tuned.

[MUSIC]

Ok so if you are new to this channel.

Welcome.

This channel is all about helping you play better golf.

I am into my 33rd year of being a golf pro so along the way I have picked up a little

bit about what works and what doesn't work.

And as I get older I try to get simpler.

And every video every lesson I give I am trying to find ways of getting simpler and simpler

evry time.

As I said earlier.

This lesson is inspired by a lesson I gave during the week.

And I saw a guy on the Thursday.

And we made a couple of little changes to his golf swing.

And then I got a phone call on Saturday evening saying I really need to see you this just

is't working.

So my first question to this client was.

How many balls have you hit?

He said I haven't hit any balls but I have played 3 rounds of golf.

So instantly I knew what was going on.

We make a swing change.

And it might work temporarily during the lesson because we are making some changes and under

my guidance people quite often hit well.

The moment I turn my back and get off.

It doesn't feel quite as good.

So people start losing a bit of faith in what happens.

Now the worst thing you can do after a lesson is to go out play golf.

There is a cycle that we need to go through when we make a swing change.

So I am going to talk you through that cycle.

So lets just say that the change we are going to make today is a grip change.

So during the lesson I may have explained a little something that we are going to manipulate

in the grip or make a change.

And of course because it is different your brain is going to feel very uncomfortable

about that change.

It is going to say gee this feels weird.

Quite often people actually tell me oh no this feels wrong.

That implies what they were doing before was right in which case if it was right they wouldn't

be having a lesson.

So it does take a little while to embed a swing change.

And in this particular case it is a grip change.

So the way I would go about it is we make the grip change.

Knowing that it is going to feel terrible it is going to feel awful.

And the best way of getting used to a change is to do what is called block practice.

Block practice is hitting shot after shot after shot.

Same club same target just getting some repetition going.

So we are trying to get some repetition in our new grip or what ever it is we have decided

to change in the grip.

And we would do that.

Now after a while you may find that starts working pretty well on the range.

And what most people do is they say this is working really good now.

I am going to go out on the course.

There is actually a step in between that you are missing out on.

So after you have done the block practice.

We need to put it under the pressure cooker of getting some constraints on the golf course

or on the range I should say.

So what I would suggest you do is you pick out a target and you choose a club so you

might be having a 7 iron to a target that is out on the right hand side of the range.

So using your new grip.

You go through your pre shot routine and you hit one shot at that target.

Regardless of the result.

Whether it's good or bad.

You then choose a different club or you could simply choose a different target and stick

with the same club.

And you might pick a target out on the left hand side.

So once again you go through your pre shot routine and you hit a shot to that target.

So we are really putting pressure on like you would on a golf course.

And we are putting this swing change under pressure.

If it goes pretty well.

You are then ready to take it out on to the golf course.

But not in competition.

You need to play some holes by your self.

No scoring and no pressure with friends around.

And you are going to put it to the test on the golf course.

If that doesn't go so well.

You then go back to the range and you work on block practice again.

And then you are embedding it.

And then you put yourself under pressure on the range.

Then you go back out on to the golf course and put yourself under pressure by your self

again.

Let's say that your little test on the golf course went really well.

The next step you have got to go through is can I do it under pressure in a game of golf.

Now you are ready to play in the competition and see how it goes.

So if it goes well.

The change has been successful and it stuck.

If it doesn't go so well.

We go back to block practice again, followed by doing some random practice putting your

self under pressure.

Different targets different clubs.

One ball at a time.

Then we go back on the course playing a little practice round by yourself and then once again.

It is a good cycle to go through.

Whatever the change is.

It's the sort of thing golf pros do.Unfortunately we don't hear how golf pros make a swing change.

We just hear during the tournament.

Oh they have made this change.

We assume that they have just made it on the practice fairway the day before and put it

into play.

That does sometimes happen but not very often.

Mostly they do a lot of work in preparation before they get out onto the golf course.

So if you can stick to that cycle I think it is going to embed any change you make.

Thank you for letting me help you with your golf.

The 1918 Pandemic: The Deadliest Flu in History - Duration: 6:09.

By now, you're probably used to 'flu season' coming around every year.

These days, you can often avoid getting sick through vaccines, washing your hands, and

avoiding sneezing co-workers.

So while influenza can be dangerous, for most people it's just another part of winter.

But a hundred years ago, at the start of 1918, the normal flu season took a backseat to what

became the deadliest outbreak in history: a global influenza pandemic that killed anywhere

between 50 and 100 million people.

Today, it's called "the mother of all pandemics", and scientists think they've

figured out what made it so deadly.

[♪INTRO]

Epidemiologists still aren't sure where this killer flu originated.

Some say it started in China, while others point to early cases from a military training

base in Kansas.

But eventually, thanks to the war and global trade routes, it spread around the world and

became known as — of all things — the Spanish flu.

See, in 1918, a lot of the world was busy finishing World War I, and many countries

were heavily censoring their news.

Anything that might hurt morale — like a deadly, fast-moving plague, for example — was

kept from the media.

But Spain, which wasn't involved in the war, had no problem reporting the outbreak.

So, people started calling it the Spanish Flu, since it seemed to have emerged there

first — if only according to the news.

Regardless of where it started, this flu was so devastating that some people believed it

was biological warfare.

Some estimates say that one-third of the world population was infected, and that more than

2.5% of people died from it, often through complications like pneumonia — including

millions of 20- to 40-year-olds, who are usually the least vulnerable.

A normal flu, meanwhile, is fatal in less than 0.1% of cases.

To know why it was so dangerous, it helps to know a bit about the flu virus itself.

There are four subtypes of the influenza virus, called influenzae A-D, with influenza A being

the main kind that causes pandemics.

Those viruses are categorized by two surface proteins: hemagglutinin, which comes in 18

varieties, and neuraminidase, which comes in 11.

They give flu strains names like 1918's "H1N1", although there can still be variations

among viruses with the same name.

Your immune system builds antibodies that recognize all these proteins and protect you

from multiple infections — but unfortunately, the influenza virus mutates so quickly that

your body doesn't always recognize it.

Most mutations are small — enough that your body will probably still be able to defend

itself.

These tiny changes are called antigenic drifts.

But the 1918 flu virus underwent a much bigger change — called an antigenic shift — that

left people vulnerable.

These big mutations result in viruses with very different or entirely new combinations

of surface proteins, and they're different enough that most people have little or no

natural immunity.

Changes like these are what cause flu pandemics.

Now, even though the virus changes all the time, scientists think that the first flu

you encounter may have a life-long effect on the way your body fights new infections.

They call this idea the antigenic imprinting — or the "doctrine of original antigenic

sin".

Really.

It says that your immune system seems to remember your first influenza infection and will try

to fight later flus using the same antibodies.

So if you caught an H3-type flu as a child, you're better able to protect yourself against

other H3 flu viruses, even if some of its other proteins have changed.

But you probably wouldn't do as well against, say, an H1-type virus.

Which is exactly what happened 100 years ago.

And it's one reason why 20- to 40-year-olds were so likely to die during this outbreak,

even though they're usually the least affected.

When they were younger, the so-called "Russian Flu" was the dominant strain — and that

was probably the H3N8 variant.

Then, around 1900, the H1-type virus became dominant.

And sometime right before 1918, another shift created the H1N1 strain that caused the pandemic

and left young adults with almost no immunity.

Meanwhile, people older than 40 may have experienced an H1-type virus in their childhood, so they

already had some protection against this new version.

On top of that, young adults also have especially strong immune systems, which actually worked

against them and caused a lot of people to die quickly after showing symptoms.

These rapid deaths were likely caused by cytokine storms, which is an immune system response

so intense it damages a patient's tissues.

And the stronger your immune system, the more damage a cytokine storm can do.

So, 1918 was not a great time to be a young person.

After racing across the world, the deadly pandemic seemed to burn itself out after a

year or so.

Researchers think that, since so many people were infected in the first outbreak, enough

of the population gained immunity to prevent further chaos.

The virus also probably mutated to a less deadly form — though, in general, scientists

aren't certain what magical combination of mutations makes a flu more or less deadly.

Either way, we don't need to worry specifically about the Spanish flu these days.

Many of today's H1 viruses are actually descended from that 1918 virus — which is

partially why it's called "the mother of all pandemics" — so most people have

some H1 immunity.

But if there's ever another big antigenic shift, that could be a problem — because

it could definitely happen and might even cause another pandemic.

To protect us from that possibility — and the rest of the flus — scientists are working

on a universal vaccine.

There are several in development right now that target parts of the virus that are the

same across all variants.

And if any of them work, it could someday mean that one vaccine would protect you from

every flu season.

So even though it's possible, hopefully we'll never experience another pandemic

like the Spanish flu again.

How to Adjust Your Bike Helmet - Duration: 3:35.

Hi I'm Mary Jo Monte from the Path Pedaler series and today we're talking helmets we

all know riding our bike is good for us and it's fun but let's face it crashes are common

now it's widely documented if you're gonna crash a helmet will reduce your chance of

a head or brain injury by at least 65 percent to as much as 88% so wear your helmet to make

sure you wear your helmet properly I've asked Bruce Baldwin from Ernie's Bicycle Shop to

show us how thanks Mary Jo helmets are subject that's really dear to my heart I've had a

couple of wrecks where if I hadn't been wearing a helmet I think I probably would have suffered

some some bad head injuries but it's not only important to wear a helmet but it's important

to wear it properly so that it fits and can actually do it's job I see to many people

riding around with helmets that are perched way back on the top of their head or unfortunately

I've even seen people riding around with helmets on backwards you'd never do that I know well

so many people don't think it's cool to wear a helmet well it's really cool to be able

to think yeah so a properly fit helmet should be one that sits on your head level with the

edge of the front of the helmet just a finger width or two above your eyebrow this particular

helmet has a ratcheting knob in the back that allows me to adjust the circumference a helmet

should be tight enough and sung enough that when I wiggle it your eyebrows move up and

down and it shouldn't fall off on it's own so the first adjustment is to get it level

and adjusted so it fits snugly all right next we're going to adjust these straps so that

they form a Y right below your ear lobe if you could turn so I can see the other side

and once we get that leveled up right whoops a little to tight and then finally what we'll

do is the chin strap adjustment and this should be snug enough that the helmet won't move

around on your head but still loose enough that you can run your finger through the strap

and your chin okay it should be in a position that when you open your mouth it feels snug

and really tight it does and that's basically it level straps in a Y below your ear and

the chin straps snug enough that it won't slide around and move in an impact perfect

perfect you know accidents can happen at anytime really so you've got to be prepared and wear

your helmet properly thank you so much Bruce you're welcome if you found this video helpful

Origins of Meditation - Duration: 5:47.

Since very ancient times, from time immemorial, this meditation has been

practised in India as a science, as a way of life. As the world was worried about

the existence of this earth, sun, moon, stars and galaxies, those great sages, the

spiritual giants of India, they were bothering to know the existence of the

Self. Are we born along with the birth of this physical body, are we going to

become extinct when this body attains death? That was the basic worry or the

problem that they thought that needs to be pondered over. Everybody is looking to

live a stress free life but in today's well there is so much of stress. People

want everything to happen fast instantly like having an instant coffee

but the mind is so infinite, it does not come back under control so easily.

This mind which is constantly into craving very often goes into distractions and

uncontrollable worries. When I am talking about the mind, mind is infinite you

cannot show it to somebody. Its color or its form or any such thing based on the

thoughts only you'd recognize my mind wants to do this and my mind wants to do

that. I would like to go there and I would like to do such a thing.

In fact this mind is a bundle of thoughts. If you can remove all these thoughts in

the mind, its existence is a pure consciousness. An infinite form.

As my Guru would put it, anything that we would like to do in this world is always for

ourselves. We do it if we get peace, if we get some happiness. Whatever that we want

to do in this world, to achieve, or to acquire something, always we look whether

we are going to be happy or not. If there is an imagination that we can get some

happiness by acquiring this wealth, then only we go for it. So my guru said first

it is important you try to know who you are then you will know what you really

want. What you really can acquire for yourself, for your happiness, how this

peace and happiness is achieved. In those days also the sages, pondering over the

existence of the self, they went into deep meditations and eventually in to

the tapas

to realize the Self and they understood the Self as the ultimate truth, the

immortal soul which exists as one single self, as all-pervading Divine spirit.

Now, how to achieve this? How to experience this? How to obtain that permanent peace

and happiness? Those sages practised deep meditations for this purpose and

eventually went into a state of the highest pitch of meditation called

tapas and realized the Self as the ultimate truth existing as the immortal

soul, the Divine all-pervading spirit.
