Waching daily Jan 8 2018

I wonder, as a kid, how did we manage to sleep, after midnight coffees?

I don't know about you,

but I couldn't sleep until the morning!

But you had your coffee every time!

You were drinking, what could I do?

Then get ready for another sleepless night, Kerem.

Kerem, I've brought some milk.

Really? Thanks a lot, Süreyya.

Why are these milks look red?

These are with strawberry.

Aunt Yıldız prepared for you, since you like strawberry.

Mmm... Strawberry, huh?

Mmmmh. They are delicious!

Come on, drink!

Too hot! Too hot!

What did you put in it?

Aaah, too hot!

Aaah, too hot!

Are you sure that this is coffee?

Yeah?

What else would it be?

For instance, could it be chili pepper?

-Did you remember? -I did!

I did, but I'm surprised that you remembered.

How can I forget?

I still have that chili taste in my mouth!

Come on, don't exaggerate!

What to exaggerate?

My mouth burned for three days, my tongue's swollen!

We were kids.

That might be scaly pepper, but actually I can't remember.

It is normal though.

You had so many of these!

What else?

Let me tell you something.

I don't know if coffee makes us stay up all night,

but if I start telling your incidents, we will definitely sit down here until the morning.

Damning Report Shows Pentagon is Actively Poisoning Millions - Duration: 5:03.

Damning Report Shows Pentagon is Actively Poisoning Millions of Americans and Covering

It Up

As the United States continues to increase the budget of the largest military in the

world, Americans are paying a price that is far greater than their tax dollarsa recent

study found that the Pentagon has contaminated more than 40,000 sites across the United States,

exposing hundreds of thousands of Americans to dangerous chemicals.

An investigation conducted by ProPublica and Vox revealed that by testing and disposing

of deadly chemical weapons in the United States, the Pentagon has poisoned drinking water

supplies, rendered millions of acres of land unsafe or unusable, and jeopardized the health

of often unwitting Americans.

The study noted that while the Pentagon has spent more than $40 billion in an effort to

clean up the contaminated sites over the years, the results have been overwhelmingly inadequate,

and many Americans are still at risk, even after the government claims that the sites

have been rendered safe for public use.

In addition to using at least 200 sites as burn pits where they burn hazardous

explosives in the open air, the Pentagon also pays independent contractors to dispose of

hazardous waste and to clean up toxic sites.

The investigation noted that, in some cases, the Pentagon has even refused to cooperate

with the EPA and let dangerous sites remain toxic wastelands, because it claimed it is

not responsible when some of those contractors commit fraud, improperly handle toxic material,

or cut corners on cleanups.

As The Free Thought Project reported, while Congress banned American industries from using

open burns to dispose of hazardous waste in 1984, a study from ProPublica in July revealed

that lawmakers granted the Pentagon and its contractors a temporary reprieve from those

rules to give engineers time to address the unique aspects of destroying explosive military

waste.

That exemption has remained in place ever since.

The latest installment in the investigation looks at the Research Development Explosive

(RDX), which was created by the U.S. in the early 1940s.

In addition to being considered a critical component in defeating Germany in World War

II, the white crystalline powder was then used to fuel carpet bombing in Korea and Vietnam.

The Americans called the new formula RDX, and it transformed weapons overnight.

RDX enabled the bazookathe worlds first hand-held anti-tank rocket launcherto pierce

armor.

RDX was packed into 10,000-pound underwater bombs dropped by British airplanes to blow

up German river dams and disrupt the countrys hydropower in the critical Dambuster campaign.

It was even surreptitiously soaked into firewood that would later explode in the furnaces of

German locomotives.

At the time, more than 40 million pounds of RDX was produced each month at an industrial

plant in rural Tennessee.

The deadly, explosive powder was spread into the soil and later found in the areas drinking

water aquifers.

The study noted that while RDX was designated as a possible human carcinogen in 1990,

the Pentagon has continued to manufacture it and to test-fire the weapons it is made

with on U.S. soil.

The contamination has been found across the country, with residents in Salt Lake City,

Utah, claiming that the food they grew with RDX-contaminated water caused cancer.

RDX has also been found to have contaminated drinking water near Fort Jackson in Columbia,

South Carolina, in 2013; nearly 150 miles away from the Armys manufacturing plant

in Kingsport, Tennessee, in 2015; and around an old missile factory, which the Pentagon

claimed was safe for the public, near Los Angeles, California, in 2017.

The Pentagon is the same government agency that claims it cannot account for more than

$21 trillion from the last 20 years, and the latest discovery from ProPublica that more

than 65 military installations across the country have been contaminated with a deadly

chemical, is just another reminder that the Pentagon is not only killing innocent civilians

in the Middle Eastit is also poisoning innocent civilians in the United States, in

the name of keeping Americans safe.

Rush Says He Knows Where the Leaks in the Trump White House Were - Duration: 4:29.

Rush Says He Knows Where the Leaks in the Trump White House Were Coming From

On his radio broadcast Thursday, conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh revealed the

culprit behind the leaks that plagued the Trump White House in the months after President

Donald Trump took office.

According to Limbaugh, more than half of the leaks originated from then-White House

chief strategist Steve Bannon.

The thing that I think everybody believes and that everybody knows, Limbaugh said,

is that most of the leaking that was coming out of the Trump White House was Steve Bannon.

The conservative radio host was responding to the intensifying feud between Bannon and

President Donald Trump.

In a book released Friday by author Michael Wolff, Bannon is quoted as criticizing Trumps

family.

In one instance, he took aim at a June 2016 meeting involving Donald Trump Jr., Jared

Kushner, Paul Manafort and a Russian lawyer.

Bannon reportedly called that meeting treasonous.

Bannon, who currently serves as the executive chairman of Breitbart News, joined the Trump

campaign in August 2016 as its CEO.

After Trump won the election, Bannon was made chief strategist, and served in that capacity

until he was ousted from the administration in August 2017.

Limbaugh is not the only one to accuse Bannon of leaking.

Just days before the former top aide officially departed the White House, Axios reported that

Trump himself believed Bannon was behind damaging leaks about White House colleagues.

Limbaugh went on to note that he had never heard of Bannon before his involvement

with the Trump campaign.

He continued going after the former White House strategist, pointing out that he is

all over the place in regard to his various comments on Trump and his administration.

Bannon is all over the place, he said, before referencing a 60 Minutes interview

in which Bannon was praising Trump to the hilt.

And now in this book hes quoted as saying that Trump and Trump Jr. were committing treason

by dealing with the Russians, Limbaugh said.

I never understood half of the presidents staffing.

I never understood how he knew these people and ended up choosing them.

According to the conservative commentator, Bannon only held influence with Trump because

the Mercer family, which donated millions of dollars to the Trump campaign, wanted him

to.

The Mercers gave Trump $5 million, Limbaugh said of the family, which holds a stake in

Breitbart.

The Mercers wanted Bannon inside Trump.

Trump said, OK, fine, make him strategist. I dont know if Trump ever even met Bannon

before this campaign began.

For his part, Trump has cut all ties with Bannon, releasing a statement Wednesday in

which he condemned his former top adviser.

Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency, Trump said.

When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind.

Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten

men and women of this country, the president added.

Yet Steve had everything to do with the loss of a Senate seat in Alabama held for

more than thirty years by Republicans.

Steve doesnt represent my base hes only in it for himself.

Trumps legal team has also sent cease-and-desist letters to both Bannon and Wolff and his publisher.

The president wanted to stop publication of Wolffs book Fire and Fury: Inside

the Trump White House.

In response to the letter, though, the books release date was actually moved up to Friday.

How to Get Vitamin D and Stay Sun-Safe | Lab Muffin Beauty Science - Duration: 10:35.

Hey it's Michelle from Lab Muffin Beauty Science the nerdiest beauty nerd

on your screen right now. Today I'm going to be discussing how to get vitamin D

without giving yourself too much skin damage. Vitamin D is an essential

nutrient for your body and one of the main sources of vitamin D for humans

is exposing our skin to UVB radiation from the Sun. But of course UV and sun

exposure also causes skin cancer and skin aging, so we need to be careful

about sun protection - we need sunscreen hats protective clothing and we need to

remember to stay in the shade. So what's the right balance between getting enough

sun for vitamin D and not having skin cancer? This topic is quite controversial

and there's tons and tons of opinions on the internet.

They aren't many clear guidelines from medical authorities either. So here's my

best attempt at untangling the information that we have.

Vitamin D is an important vitamin that has lots of roles in your body. It's

famous for maintaining calcium so your bones don't get soft and you avoid

osteoporosis, but it's involved in lots of other things as well like heart

disease, metabolism and preventing cancer.

Your skin produces vitamin D when it's exposed to short wavelengths of UV

called UVB. It happens with wavelengths around 270 to 300 nanometers and it

happens the most efficiently at about 295 nanometers. The amount of vitamin D

that your body produces when you go out into the Sun depends on lots of things

like where you live, the time of year, the time of day, and the color of your skin.

As well as making vitamin D in your skin you can also get vitamin D from your

diet - things like fatty fish liver cheese mushrooms and foods that are specially

modified so that there's vitamin D added to it.

All of these can increase your body's vitamin D, but in general food only

contributes about 10 percent of your total needed vitamin D. You can also

take vitamin D supplements. A lot of people are vitamin D deficient so they

aren't getting enough through the Sun and food - it's something like a quarter

of Australians and 1/3 of people in the US who are all vitamin D deficient.

Sunscreen blocks a lot of UVB from entering your skin so it seems logical

to think that wearing sunscreens is going to lower your vitamin D. But a 2009

study found that wearing sunscreen doesn't actually have too much of an

effect on your vitamin D levels. That's because most people don't apply enough

sunscreen and even if you try to apply the right amount there are lots of spots

that you miss like your scalp, between your fingers, around your eyes, and these

spots get enough UV to make vitamin D. There's an interesting idea that you can

make a sunscreen that blocks most UV but selectively lets in wavelengths of UV

that your skin uses to make vitamin D. The only sunscreen that I know off the

top of my head that does this is called Solar D, and it lets in some rays that

are between 290 and 310 nanometers. I personally think this sort of

sunscreen is really going to take off in the near future.

It's hard to give an exact figure in terms of how many minutes of Sun

exposure you should get because of all those things that I mentioned before

that will affect your vitamin D production - so things like where you live,

the time of year, the time of day and what color your skin is.

But there are some calculations that have been done on the minimal

erythemal dose or MED which is the minimum amount of UV that makes your

skin go pink. There's research that found that exposing about a quarter of your

body's skin surface to half of the MED two or three times a week is enough to

get adequate vitamin D synthesis. You also don't need to seem to need Sun all

that regularly for vitamin D - your body can rely on its storages of vitamin D

for a couple of months so you might be able to get through some of winter

without sunshine. Different countries have put out different guidelines for

sun exposure and vitamin D supplementation so that you can get

enough vitamin D without risking too much skin damage. In the US there

aren't any broad guidelines yet. Some scientist suggests that around winter,

you should try to get about 15 minutes of Sun two or three times a week with

your face, arms and legs exposed. They recommend that you do this in the middle

of the day when the UVB is highest so around 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. This

guideline is for people with light Fitzpatrick II skin so if your skin

tone's lighter then you need less sun, and if your skin tone's darker you're going

to need more. I really like the guidelines given in Australia because

they're really clear and they were put together in collaboration between people

who think that the Sun is bad, so the Australasian College of

Dermatologists and the Cancer Council, as well as the people who think that

vitamin D deficiency is really bad, so the Australian and New Zealand Bone and

Mineral Society, the Endocrine Society of Australia and Osteoporosis Australia.

These guidelines are also really recent - they were put together in January 2016,

so they take into account newer research on vitamin D's

importance. These guidelines say when the UV index is 3 or above in the middle

of the day, which is most of the year in Australia, sun protection is recommended

when you're outdoors for more than a few minutes. So during this time most

Australians will still get enough vitamin D from incidental exposure even

though they're taking sun protection measures - so even though they're wearing

sunscreen, wearing sunglasses, wearing protective clothing, wearing hats. Walking

between the car and the shops, going outside to buy lunch, that sort of

thing will give you enough sunshine to get vitamin D. Then in late autumn and

winter when the UV index is below 3, sun protection is not recommended and

they say that people should go outdoors in the middle of the day with some skin

uncovered on most days of the week. So that's really nice and clear, and because

it's based on the UV index you can probably apply that in other places in

the world - just check the UV index for your

location and you can work out what to do. There are some apps that you can use to

do this, so for example in Australia there's the SunSmart app from the

Cancer Council. In the UK it's often cloudy and there's low UVB so in winter

the NHS recommends that almost everyone should consider taking a vitamin D

supplement. I've put links to all this advice in the caption if you want to

read them in full.

So in addition to this advice there's a few things that I want to add that you

should keep in mind. Sun exposure isn't just UVB exposure.

There's also longer wavelength UVA which doesn't have any health benefits and

there's also infrared and visible light that can also cause skin damage. UVB is

highest in the middle of the day and changes quite a lot during the day so

it's quite low in the morning and in the evening, but UVA levels are pretty

constant all throughout the day. So in terms of cost and benefit the middle

of the day seems to be the best time to get the maximum vitamin D synthesis in

your skin while minimising skin damage from other sources.

You only really need short exposures to sunshine to make vitamin D. It doesn't

mean that you have to bake in the Sun for hours - your skin slows down how much

vitamin D it makes after a while but skin damage doesn't really slow down, so

you're risking melanoma and other skin cancers, especially if you get sunburned

while you're trying to get vitamin D. UVB doesn't pass through glass, so if you're

sitting in a patch of sunshine that's coming in through a window you're not

going to make much vitamin D. However UVA - those longer wavelengths - they do pass

through glass which means you'll still get skin damage. Tanning beds also

produce way more UVA than UVB so they're worse than regular sunlight and they've

been definitely linked to skin cancer.

If you're using anti-aging ingredients in your skincare like alpha hydroxy

acids and vitamin A, you should still wear sunscreen since a lot of these can

increase your risk of sun damage. If you can't follow these guidelines or you're

particularly at risk of vitamin D deficiency like if you or your family

members have had skin cancer, if your skin is really dark or if you're house

bound, or if you're just concerned about your vitamin D levels in general, then

you should talk to your doctor about checking your vitamin D levels, and talk

about other options for increasing your vitamin D. So for example perhaps you can

take a supplement. In summary small periods of sun exposure in the middle of

the day will give you vitamin D while minimising your chances of skin cancer

and aging. Sunburn and UVA are still both really bad and sunscreen is really

unlikely to make you more vitamin D deficient than you already are.

Minbari Federation | Babylon 5 - Duration: 11:24.

Billions of years ago, great races walked like giants among the stars, vast and timeless,

before relinquishing their stewardship of the galaxy and transcending beyond the Rim

and into legend.

When the elder races departed to make way for the new, the first to assume this mantle

of responsibility was the Minbari.

The oldest of the Younger Races, the Minbari have long been a formidable power in the galaxy.

They achieved interstellar travel over a thousand years

before all other races.

This place of technological and cultural superiority led to the Minbari adopting a paternalistic

attitude - which is often considered arrogant by outsiders.

The Minbari are a bipedal race from the planet Minbar, capable of living a hundred and twenty

Earth years or longer.

They are easily distinguished by their ornate and unique crests that grow around their heads.

Spiritual, ritualistic, and disciplined, the Minbari are taught to value the lives of others

above their own, and to serve with honor, dignity, and honesty - though it is said by

other races that Minbari never tell the whole truth.

Minbari culture is centered around an ancient social structure that divides its population

between Religious, Warrior, and Worker castes.

While caste membership is largely hereditary, Minbari are free to move between them, referred

to as a "Calling of the Heart".

Already a deeply spiritual people, the Religious Caste is regarded as the most important among

them, with religious and spiritual matters taking precedence.

Its members are responsible for the political, diplomatic, and religious aspects of their

culture and are often found in positions of power or authority.

The cornerstone of their religion is the belief that the universe is alive and conscious,

and has broken itself into many different forms of sentient life to better understand

itself.

It is believed that when a Minbari dies, their spirit joins the souls of all the other Minbari

before them, before finally being reborn into the next generation.

Yet despite the importance of spiritualism within Minbari culture, the goals of the Religious

Caste have often conflicted with those of the Warrior Caste.

Responsible for the protection of Minbar and the Federation, the Warrior Caste is fiercely

loyal, patriotic, nationalistic, and isolationist.

Members of the Warrior caste train for years, dedicating themselves to the study and the

art of war and combat, including specialization in the fighting pike, a traditional Minbari

melee weapon.

Warriors are expected to sacrifice themselves for Minbar if the cause is great enough, and

great leaders who die in battle are treated with immense respect and are revered for generations.

Providing the support and infrastructure of the Minbari Federation is the Worker caste:

the pilots, scientists, engineers, farmers, miners, and other workers of commerce and

industry within the Federation.

This group often takes a backseat to the politics between the warrior and religious castes,

rarely having much power despite being the largest of the three groups.

The highest ruling body of the Minbari Federation is known as the Grey Council, made up of nine

representatives, each granted the honorific title of Satai.

The Council is made up of three members of each caste, representing the major clans within them

By tradition, the group lives apart from Minbari society, meeting aboard the Sharlin-class

Warcruiser Valen'Tha rather than their home planet.

The council is lead by a Chosen One who acts as Speaker, organizing the discussions and

agendas and accepting guest speakers and presenters to the council, but does not take part in

any vote.

Prior to the formation of the Federation and the Grey Council, Castes would compete for

dominance through a device known as the Starfire Wheel, in which prospective leaders were forced

to undergo a torturous barrage of stellar radiation, symbolically suffering for their

people.

During times of crisis, when the Minbari people were asked to endure a difficult or controversial

decision, a victorious leader might voluntarily remain in the wheel, sacrificing themselves

so their words might carry more weight.

The Starfire Wheel largely ended the civil wars and factional violence that had plagued

the Minbari people in their earliest history and brought forth a new era in which they

colonised the stars using the remnants of the ancient jumpgate network.

The first great challenge to the interstellar Minbari civilization arose a millennium ago

when a dark and ancient threat appeared from the edge of known space.

The Minbari joined forces with the Vorlons, an ancient race that had, generations earlier,

gifted select Minbari with psionic abilities.

This threat, known only as The Shadows, had been at war with the Vorlons for an indeterminate

amount of time before the involvement of the Younger Races, and threatened chaos and galaxy

wide destruction.

The Minbari sustained heavy losses during the war, including the destruction of the

main Minbari base of operations.

On the verge of defeat, a strange replacement battlestation appeared, seemingly from nowhere.

After boarding the station, they found a Minbari surrounded by Vorlons in angelic form.

This was Valen, known as the Minbari not born of Minbari.

This legendary figure would unite the Minbari castes, form the Grey Council, and create

an elite group of warriors known as the Anla'Shok or "Rangers".

These Rangers combined all the knowledge of every warrior clan to make an ultimate fighting

force that helped throw the Shadows back.

Valen knew the Shadow threat was not over, however, and tasked the Anla'Shok with watching

and gathering information for the return of the Shadows in a thousand years.

By Earth year 2245, the Grey Council was led by Chosen One Dukhat, considered one of the

greatest leaders of the Minbari since Valen himself.

On a routine mission to investigate the Rim for evidence of the Shadows return,

Dukhat's fleet encountered several Earthforce ships.

Following Minbari custom, they approached the humans with open gunports, which the humans

mistook as a threat rather than the Minbari sign of respect it was intended to be.

The commander of the fleet, Captain Michael Jankowski, fired upon the Minbari cruisers

and severely damaged the Valen'Tha, killing Dukhat.

The Grey Council, shocked at the human's capacity for savagery, sought vengeance against

the Earth Alliance sparking the bloody Earth-Minbari war.

The Minbari Federation far out-classed the Earth Alliance technologically, but were unprepared

for the asymmetric warfare undertaken by EarthForce.

This was exemplified in 2247 when the Minbari's most powerful Sharlin cruiser, the Drala Fi,

also known as the Black Star, was destroyed by a seemingly crippled EarthForce warship.

Driven by fear, the Minbari embarked on a holy crusade to exterminate humanity and the

threat it posed, sending a strike force to attack Earth itself from orbit.

In the famous Battle of the Line, Earth's remaining defences were quickly crippled but

just as the Minbari had arrived at their moment of victory, they suddenly and unexpectedly surrendered.

The surrender shocked both humanity and the Minbari alike and many within the Warrior

caste refused to follow the order and instead committed suicide.

This would lead to a growing divide between the Minbari Religious and Warrior Castes.

Why the Minbari surrendered mere hours away from victory remained a closely guarded secret

of the Grey Council, but was believed to have been connected to the capture of Jeffrey Sinclair,

a Starfury squadron leader captured and interrogated during the battle.

With the goal of preventing another full-scale war between races, The Babylon Project was

started by EarthForce as a neutral meeting place where races could settle their differences

peacefully.

After the destruction of the first three stations, and the disappearance of the fourth just twenty

four hours of its completion, the Babylon 5 station finally came online on March 9th,

2256, with significant financial help from the Centauri Republic and the Minbari Federation.

The Minbari's involvement in the project gave them veto power over the commander of

the station, and Jeffrey Sinclair was approved as the first commanding officer of Babylon 5.

On Minbar, the rivalry between the Warrior and Religious caste grew steadily worse,

and even as evidence was uncovered that the Shadows were beginning to return, the Federation began

to splinter.

In an unprecedented act, a warrior assumed control of a seat on the Grey Council intended

for the Religious caste and the council was disbanded shortly after.

Even as the Rangers and the Army of Light fought against the renewed Shadow Threat,

the Minbari remained divided.

While the Religious and Worker castes would participate in some of the greatest battles

of the Second Shadow War, the Warrior Caste remained largely uninvolved.

With the defeat of the Shadows, the tenuous peace between the castes finally broke.

This new civil war threatened to tear the Federation apart until Satai Delenn of Mir,

ambassador to Babylon 5 and prominent member of the Religious caste, challenged her counterpart,

Shakiri from the Warrior Caste, to step inside the ancient Starfire Wheel.

In the ensuing struggle, Delenn was declared the victor but soon revealed she intended

to remain within the Wheel until death.

Her sacrifice inspired the members of each caste leading to Neroon, a member of a prominent

warrior clan, to die in her place.

With the integrity of the Minbari Federation restored, a new Grey Council was formed around

the long downtrodden and ignored Worker Caste, ushering in a new era for the Minbari people

and the galaxy.

As if to symbolize this great new age, the Minbari would be amongst the first to support

the creation of the Interstellar Alliance which would eventually unite the great races

of the galaxy and serve its citizens faithfully for a million years.

Cardano - Simply Explained - Duration: 8:01.

Right now there are countless of cryptocurrencies that you can buy.

But recently, we've seen something called Cardano getting a lot traction.

But why is Cardano so popular all of a sudden?

What makes it so special compared to other crypto's?

Well let's find out..

Cardano is a new cryptocurrency platform that was launched in September 2017 after more

than 2 years of development.

It's rather different then other cryptocurrency projects because it is built around peer reviewed

papers.

So instead of writing a whitepaper and implementing it straight to code, the Cardano team actually

makes sure that experts from around the world read their papers, improve them and agree

with the outcome.

This is a very different way of working!

Cardano claims to be the third generation of cryptocurrencies.

The first generation was Bitcoin and is essentially digital gold.

It's used to transfer and store virtual money but is plagued with scalability issue's.

The second generation was started with Ethereum and brought us smart contracts.

It improved scalability somewhat but not enough to become a global currency.

The third generation however wants to take the previous two generations and improve upon

them.

Right now Cardano and IOTA are both considered to be third generation blockchains.

Cardano wants to solve three big pain points of the current generation: scalability, interoperability

and sustainability.

Let's go over each one.

We'll start with scalability which itself consists out of three problems that have to

be solved: transactions per second, network bandwidth and storage.

Transactions per second is the most obvious one: in order for a cryptocurrency to become

a global payment system, you need to be able to handle a lot of transactions per second.

Cardano's Ouroboros system solves this by adopting proof-of-stake instead of proof-of-work.

You probably know that Bitcoin uses the proof-of-work algorithm and lets everyone mine new blocks.

This process is slow and not only wastes a lot of computing power, it also wastes huge

amounts of electricity.

Cardano is much more efficient.

It doesn't let everyone mine new blocks.

Instead, the network elects a few nodes to mine the next blocks.

These are called the slot leaders.

To make this all work, Cardano divides the time into epochs.

An epoch is split into slots, a short period of time in which exactly 1 block can be created.

The network then elects a slot leader for each slot and this is the only person that

can mine a block for that particular slot.

Slot leaders listen for new transactions, verify them and then puts them inside a block.

If a slot leader doesn't complete his task in time or doesn't show up, he loses the

right to produce a block and has to wait until he is reelected by the network.

This technique makes Cardano highly scalable because they increase the amount of slots

per epoch and they could run multiple epochs in parallel.

The next scalability problem is network bandwidth.

Blockchains are stored in a P2P network.

Each node in this network receives a copy of all new transactions.

But imagine what happens if there are thousands of transactions per second.

The node would need a lot of bandwidth to continuously download them all, not very scalable!

Instead, Cardano wants to split up the network into subnetworks by using a technique called

RINA (Recursive InterNetwork Architecture).

Each node will be a part of a specific subnetwork and can communicate with other networks if

needed.

Much like the TCP/IP protocol for the internet.

The final aspect of scalability is data storage.

Blockchains store all transactions that have ever happened.

But how do we handle this ever growing set of data?

The Cardano team is thinking about implementing techniques like pruning, compression and partitioning.

However they don't consider this a top priority at the moment because storage space right

now is still fairly cheap.

They'll tackle this problem later in 2018 or beginning 2019.

Big problem number two is interoperability.

This again consists out of two problems.

First of all: there are many cryptocurrencies out there, but they don't work together.

And secondly: banks and governments shy away from cryptocurrencies.

So the Cardano team assumes that in the future we won't have 1 coin to rule them all.

Instead, multiple different cryptocurrencies will exists side by side, each with it's

own protocol and rules.

Right now they don't talk to each other.

You can't for example transform you Bitcoin into Ether without an intermediate.

The Cardano project aims to be the "Internet of blockchains" or in other words: a blockchain

that can understand what happens in other blockchains.

This would mean seamlessly moving assets across multiple chains.

Then there is also a problem with governments and banks.

They shy away from cryptocurrencies because they don't adhere to regular banking laws.

It's hard for them to trust a transaction in the crypto world because they don't have

any metadata about that transaction.

They like to know who made the transaction and for what reason.

However this is also very sensitive information.

So the Cardano projects wants to allow people to attach metadata to a transaction if they

want to.

This would make the crypto world play nicer with the traditional banking world.

But again, it would be up to the user to decide if he wants that or not.

The final problem that the team intends to solve is sustainability.

Right now there are a lot of people who want to build a company around cryptocurrencies.

To raise money for their company, they launch an ICO or Initial Coin Offering.

After an ICO the team ends up with a lot of capital that they can then use to fully start

their company.

But what happens if - after a couple of years - this money runs out?

How will they make sure that development of their technology continues?

Should they create a new coin and hold another ICO just to get some cash?

This is still an unanswered question, but it's clear that raising money just once

isn't very sustainable and doesn't promote continuous improvement.

Cardano intends to solve this problem by creating a treasury.

The idea is that the treasury will receive a small percentage of every transaction that

happens on the network.

The treasury itself is a special wallet that isn't controlled by anyone.

Instead it's sort of smart contract that can release a part of the funds to developers

who wish to improve the Cardano protocol.

To do this, developers have to submit a proposal to the community saying what they what they

want to change and how much money they need for it.

The community can then vote on the idea's that they think is the most important.

After a certain amount of time, the treasury takes the most popular proposals and gives

them enough money so they can develop their improvements.

Over time, the treasury model will keep Cardano sustainable by providing a continuous stream

of money that can be used to continue to do research and to improve the system.

So far we talked about all the things that the Cardano project wants to achieve.

And as you can see it's quite ambitious and maybe a bit risky.

They're trying to tackle many challenging problems.

Take the treasury model for instance: it depends on a fair voting system to prevent people

from seizing control.

The Cardano project is very young and has a long way to go.

But their way of working is very different from other cryptocurrencies.

So Cardano might be the project that finally solves some long standing and fundamental

issue's.

Time will tell!

So that concludes this video.

I hope you learned a lot and if you did, make sure to subscribe to my channel and like this

Thank you very much for watching and I'll see you in the next one!

it's full of digital marketing tips ecommerce insights and really

step-by-step how-to content for any aspiring entrepreneur that wants to make

money online so if you're new to the channel go and hit that subscribe button

so you don't miss anything and with that being said we're just gonna jump right

in

alright guys so happy Monday I hope you're having a wonderful wonderful

start to the week let's start the week off with a bang now today I want to talk

about how you can get you know boxes and shipping supplies for free because I

know that you know if you're doing maybe you're doing my my Amazon retail

arbitrage course and if you haven't checked out my video on how you can make

a lot of money doing Amazon retail arbitrage check that out drop a card up

in the right-hand corner right now as always all the courses that I'm going to

talk about in this in this video really briefly are always linked in the

description there'll be the first three links maybe you're doing that Amazon

course maybe you're doing my eBay arbitrage course and if you haven't

checked out you know why you shouldn't be sleeping

on eBay in 2017 I'll drop that video up in the right hand corner and finally

maybe you're doing Poshmark maybe you're selling some old clothes maybe you're

making some you know extra money on the side or you've turned Poshmark into a

business and you need this shipping supplies to scale it up if you're

interested in Poshmark if you don't know how to essentially make money with your

old clothes and turn that into a business I'll drop a video on Poshmark

up in the right-hand corner right now now moving on from that enough plugs I

want to talk touch on how you can get shipping supplies for free because this

is a big thing that a question I get a lot all the time across the board in a

lot of my courses and I know that if you're buying shipping supplies or boxes

they can actually that can add up and it can actually you know hurt your profit

margins quite a bit so it's not fun it's not something you obviously want to run

into it's not that kind of problem you want I got a couple of solutions for you

here and obviously if you know any of them if you know any other solutions

just in general drop a comment down below and let everybody else know

obviously let me know that'd be great we can all help each other grow and you

know essentially increase our own profit margins so this is a community of

like-minded learners that are all essentially striving to be better in

obviously you know we want to reach out to help each other so like I said drop a

comment down below if you know any other methods we're gonna get into a couple

right here for you know first and foremost u-haul box exchanged you know

you can literally scan this for people that you know are getting rid of boxes

that have just moved pretty self-explanatory I don't really need to

touch on this to two months you can hop on u-haul box exchanged

and I'll link all four of these methods really fast in the description under the

three courses if you want to check them out so there'll be this the four or the

sorry though yeah the fourth fifth sixth and seventh

link in the description for you guys if you want to check them out that way

don't actually find them you can just literally click the link u-haul boxes

change this is a great way to get boxes for free of all different shapes and

sizes the next one I actually want to talk about is free cycle so free cycle

is a great way to get you know free stuff in general but you can also find

boxes on pre cycle basically if people that are recycling things that they're

not using anymore it's essentially like Craigslist which is what I'm gonna talk

about next and you simply search your city you know or you know your your I

think you can search by area codes who I haven't searched free cycle in a long

time but you can get good boxes on free cycle that way you don't have to buy

shipping supplies because why would you want to pay for something that you can

get for free now the next two are clearly my favorite Craigslist is

something I used to use a lot before I found out about the next one and

actually I have a fifth bonus tip if you want to wait until after these four to

so you go to Craigslist you've got a free stuff obviously I'm you know

relatively close to Philadelphia you go to free stuff and you essentially

essentially scan the free stuff for boxes a lot of times if you go through

this you'll see that people have boxes here and they're just getting rid of

boxes because they just moved or they just want to you know get rid of them or

whatever so on and so forth nine times out of ten if you scan

through all nine hundred and four of these I guarantee you'll find somebody

just giving away boxes so check out that finally number four and my favorite is

USPS calm so the Postal Service will give you free

boxes if you don't know actually DHL FedEx and UPS are all kind of cornering

the market on you know shipping and and services like that and it's really kind

of squeezing the Postal Service almost out of business so in my experience and

in my you know humble opinion probably the United States Postal Service we

probably won't be around to too much longer at least in my opinion it looks

like it's kind of on its way out of business and so what they're doing is

they're essentially giving you free boxes as an incentive and nuts a free

box of free shipping supplies across the board

as an incentive to use the postal service so I'm gonna go to quick tools

you can do the same thing like I said all these would be linked in the

description and come down to free boxes in quick tool tools now I actually need

some free boxes and the reason I get these are for both when I do Poshmark I

mean I sell extra clothes just on the side I don't really need the money but

it helps kind of uh if I you know if you're anything like me you look around

your house and you notice that there's literally a million things that you

don't need that are you know like all Americans or all people in the world

probably mostly at least there's some so much excess stuff that you spent money

on that you really don't need and you just I want to turn that into cash

myself so I can invest it into things that actually matter

so I sell you know extra clothes on Poshmark like I said I have an entire

course on that I also sell things that I buy for arbitrage you know through eBay

and both of those things are great to get boxes for us through the Postal

Service so I'm actually gonna get them now because I need them and that was

what actually gave me the idea you know to do this video you can literally get

boxes in pretty much any shape or size I need some really fast I need some padded

envelopes which are my favorite because they're perfect for just throwing things

in and they seal really easily but you can literally scan this and find a

million different size of boxes I didn't see them yet I'll show you what

they are just you know just for reference this no that's the envelopes

padded flat-rate envelopes there you go boom and I'm actually not gonna I'm

gonna say I need a pack of 15 I need two packs 15 and they're literally gonna

ship 30 of these things to my door for free they'll probably be here within

within a week probably three days to five days I'm gonna add them in my cart

and I'm gonna actually grab them after this because I don't want to show wear

first of all I completely forgot that I signed out and secondly I don't want to

demonstrate my new address obviously but I hope that you guys like those tips

bonus tip if you're in my retail arbitrage course that deals with Amazon

a smart way to just do it is just hold on to a lot of the boxes that you get

the Amazon items in so if you're collecting boxes or you're you're

ordering a bunch of items and you're collecting you know boxes save a good

number of those just just fold them up save them that way you can kind of

use them to rish it back to Amazon there's no sense in buying new boxes or

you know kind of hunting for new shipping supplies they're literally

sending them to you so use the Amazon boxes that that they're sending the

items to you initially for literally repackaging back up

ship them back to Amazon FBA in those same boxes it's that simple

they also you know they'll send you packing paper and stuff like that and

you know you know the what's the word I'm looking for like the blow-up things

that kind of pad it's terrible I can't think of the word for that but you get

the picture I kind of wanted to touch on that today because I think it solves a

problem and I want to help you guys as always I'm trying to make you money and

touch on different ways that might help entrepreneurs you know basically grow so

I hope you liked the video let me know down in the comments below what you

think about these if you know like I said any other techniques to get free

boxes drop a comment down below so you can help other people out that watch

this video I hope you liked the video if you liked the video please like the

video it helps the channel grow comment and subscribe and I will see you guys

tomorrow

ZIMBABWE: What happens after MUGABE? - VisualPolitik EN - Duration: 11:54.

I want to start with a question…

What would you do if you had 250 TRILLION dollars?

I'm sure there are lots of things you would like to do with that amount of money.

But what if I told you that those 250 Trillion dollars were from ZIMBABWE?

Well, that's a totally different question because, in 2015, 250 trillion Zimbabwean

dollars were the equivalent of…

ONE US DOLLAR!!!

Yep.

You heard that right.

The truth is Zimbabwe is like Venezuela but… at a massive scale.

This country has suffered the worse hyperinflation of all time.

Since, more or less, the year 2000, prices were rising higher and higher at a mind-boggling

pace.

In 2008, a piece of bread was worth 10,000 Zimbabwean dollars.

And now you might wonder…

How did this happen?

Well… the answer is simple.

One day, ROBERT MUGABE told his finance minister…

'Dude, I don't care how you do it but we need money'

And what did the minister do?

Well… he just pressed the money printing button like there was no tomorrow.

So in conclusion: Zimbabwe had to get rid of their own national currency and let their

economy be dominated by foreign currencies, especially the American dollar.

But…

What's going on in ZIMBABWE now?

In the latest days of 2017, this country appeared on the news because a coup d'etat spelled

the end of Mugabe's 37 year long dictatorship.

And yes, my dear friends at VisualPolitik, we must say that coup d'etats are not what

they used to be.

This was the DIET COKE version of a coup d'etat.

Just look at this.

Zimbabwe: Robert Mugabe to get $10m payoff and immunity for his family.

In fact, this has been more of a soap opera.

Mugabe, at 93 years old, wanted to die in power and he also wanted his wife, 52 years

old, to inherit the presidency.

You know, these kinds of things can only happen in countries like Argentina, North Korea or…

the Front National in France.

So as you can imagine, a lot of people did not agree with this.

So the Mugabe klan sent all their political opponents out of the country.

This is what happened at the beginning of November 2017, when they kicked out the Vicepresident

EMMERSON MNANGAWA.

The army's reaction was immediate.

And you know the rest.

But now the questions about Zimbabwe's future are many.

Is MNANGAWA the new MUGABE?

Can this man resurrect Zimbabwe's economy?

Today, we are going to answer these questions.

But before we do, let's take a look back at history.

TITLE: THE 2000 EFFECT

Yes, you are right, Zimbabwe's economy is a total disaster.

And I know what you are thinking.

If you make a cocktail where you mix dictatorship and Africa, what you get is corruption and

poverty, right?

Well… you are kind of right.

But not as much as you might think.

In fact, there was a time where Zimbabwe was known as the African jewel.

Their fertile soil allowed this country to become the whole continent's barn.

And now you might wonder…

What happened in a country with so many natural resources, so many rich lands, so many gold

mines, to make it become such a catastrophe?

Well… the answer has a name and a surname, and that is ROBERT MUGABE.

Zimbabwe has been an independent country for 37 years.

And 37 years is the time Mugabe has been in power.

The decolonization process of the, so called, SOUTH RHODESIA, a British colony, ended in

a 15 year civil war.

On one hand, we had the white minority, that made up just 5% of the population.

Despite what you might think, they didn't have the support of the Western powers.

They declared their independence unilaterally and, therefore, any other country supported

them.

On the other hand, you had the guerrilla troops, led by ROBERT MUGABE, a man who combined anti

imperialist nationalism with a hardcore communist view.

Back then, Margaret THATCHER was the UK's Prime Minister.

And you might think now… hmm, cold war, plus, a

communist leader, plus, Margaret Thatcher… this sounds like an explosive combination,

right?

Well… you are wrong.

Back then, the UK's priority was to let their former colonies become healthy democracies.

And this is why Thatcher herself signed a peace agreement with the Zimbabwean guerrilla

fighters and organized elections in the country.

These elections were as fair as they could be given that the country had just ended a

civil war and had guerrilla warriors all over the place.

And… who won this election?

Exactly!

Robert Mugabe!

And now you might wonder… did he cheat or was it a fair victory?

Well…. the evidence suggests that he really have the support.

You see, among the majority of the black population in Zimbabwe, there are 2 major ethnic groups.

You have the SHONA, who make up 80% of the population.

And then you have the MATABELE, who are just 10%.

Well…

Robert Mugabe belongs to the SHONA group.

And this is why it is no surprise that he won with 60% of the vote.

So in 1980, the UK granted independence to Rhodesia, and this is how ZIMBABWE as a sovereign

country, with Mugabe as the president, was born.

And during the first 7 years he grabbed all the power.

And in terms of the economy, we must admit things worked… in the beginning.

Mugabe respected the property rights of the white population.

But, in a very Venezuelan fashion, he sent all the savings from the colonial times.

And, well… we have to admit that although it didn't work in the long run, Mugabe achieved

a great goal.

Under his rule, Zimbabwe achieved the highest literacy rate in Africa.

90% of Zimbabweans can read and write.

And what's the next thing on the to-do list for a dictator?

Well… get rid of the opposition!

In this chapter, Mugabe didn't save a penny.

He sent the 5th garrison of his army to North Korea so they could learn state of the art

methods for oppression.

And then, when those soldiers came back, he said…

'hey guys, now go to the MATABELES and… wipe them out!!!!'.

This is how the GURUKAHUNDI started.

GURUKAHUNDI means, in the SHONA language, 'early rain that cleans the straws by the

inside before the spring rains come'.

Yeah, SHONAS are pretty poetic.

But, despite the beautiful name, GURUKAHUNDI was an ethic cleansing to the manual.

More than 20,000 people died.

But Mugabe gained great stability.

All his political foes had been killed.

But in the year 2000, things changed.

That year, Mugabe decided to start an agricultural revolution, Mao style.

It was a real revolution.

Everything changed… for worse.

Mugabe decided that the best lands couldn't be owned by the White minority.

So he expropriated those and gave to… surprise!

Surprise!

His ministers and political allies!

He gave them the land but not the knowledge to tend to it.

So… production fell sharply while hyperinflation destroyed the rest of the industries.

Since then, Zimbabwe has been a living hell.

THE TIME OF THE CROCODILE

They say crocodiles wait beneath the water, showing just their eyes and their nostrils

until a victim appears.

Then, they open their jaws and eat them.

This is why the new president of Zimbabwe, Emerson Mnangagwa is known as 'THE CROCODILE'

MNANGAGWA was one of those guerrilla leaders during the civil war.

And he has been a minister since 1980.

So he spent all his life waiting under the shadow of the dictator.

But his moment has come.

So far, after this coup d'etat, his first steps haven't been very risky.

Here is an example.

Zimbabwe leader's Cabinet heavy on military, ruling party

But this is not enough for Zimbabwe and he still has a lot of work ahead.

This is one of the biggest steps he has already taken.

Govt amends Indigenisation Law

The Indigenisation Law is another economic policy made by Mugabe.

In this case, he said bigger companies couldn't belong to white people.

As you can imagine, the white minority that used to live in the country has already emigrated.

They used to be a 5% of the population.

Now they are just 1%.

But now the CROCODILE wants foreign investment.

And rejecting someone because of his or her race doesn't seem like a good economic idea.

But wait a minute because… despite all of that, this new president of Zimbabwe might

not be the right man for the job!

Look, in a country like this, it's very easy to find dark spots in the curriculum

of a politician who's served such a crazy dictator.

And… guess what the CROCODILE did in the 80s!

Yes, he was the minister of…

NATIONAL SECURITY!

So… he would have had something to do with the GURUKAHUNDI genocide.

And, as you can imagine, being a genocide executor doesn't seem like the best introduction

letter to lead a country, right?

So now you might wonder…

Is there any other person for this job?

Someone who can really become the opposition to the regime?

The answer is YES.

In 2008, there was a political party called MOVEMENT FOR A DEMOCRATIC CHANGE.

And, surprisingly, they beat Mugabe in those elections.

Yep.

You heard that right.

In a dictatorship like Zimbabwe, this meant a big time political crisis.

He couldn't destroy an opponent with such a huge amount of political capital.

But he couldn't let him win either.

And, finally, Mugabe came up with a solomonic decision.

He would remain the president, but he would let

his opponent, MORGAN TSVANGIRAI, become the Prime Minister.

Of course, this Prime Minister remained in power for just 4 years.

It was during those 4 years that Zimbabwe started using USD as an official currency

after the collapse of their local one.

But the country remained in dire straits.

Zimbabwe's unemployment rate at 90 percent

This is why, Tsvangirai has lost a lot of political capital.

So… it seems that in the next election, the CROCODILE has all the chances to win.

Besides, the army is going to control the process.

And the army supports the Crocodile.

One thing must be said here.

Whoever leads the country next will have a great advantage… it is impossible to do

any worse than their predecessor.

So now the question is…

Do you think this CROCODILE will be able to take Zimbabwe back to the African jewel times?

Or he will do the same as Mugabe did?

When Do Kids Develop Empathy? - Duration: 4:19.

[♩INTRO ]

You know when you're reading a really good book and something intense happens to one

of your favorite characters, so you're also hit with a wave of feelings?

You might feel a little silly as you reach for a box of tissues, but it's a normal

human thing to understand and relate to other people's feelings — even fictional people.

We call this empathy.

Empathy might seem pretty straightforward, but we know from research that it involves

a complex network of brain areas that process things like emotion, thought, and understanding

social cues.

And many of these brain regions aren't fully developed until late adolescence or early

adulthood.

So it takes a while for little kids to get it right.

To understand the different pieces of the empathy puzzle, scientists often divide it

into three components: emotional, motivational, and cognitive.

And to figure out how and when empathy develops naturally, researchers study how kids behave

in different situations.

The emotional part refers to sharing someone else's feelings.

For example, researchers have tested this by monitoring brain activity as adults watched

someone else's hand getting poked with a needle.

And you are like, mmm, like brain does things.

The brains of the people watching typically show a similar response pattern to the person

actually being poked.

This suggests that we actually feel something similar when we see someone in pain.

And it seems like this kind of empathy may develop pretty quickly.

We think babies as young as 6 to 8 months show early signs of it, when they make sounds

or facial expressions that mirror others who are upset.

Next up is the motivational component, which is basically the urge to do something for

someone else's well-being, like wanting to comfort a friend when they've lost a

pet or a family member.

And even though children might mirror each other's emotions early on, it takes a few

years for this motivational part to kick in.

When they're about 3 to 6 years old, kids might show behaviors like sharing their favorite

stuffed animal to make someone else feel better when they seem sad.

Now, the third, and maybe most complicated, part of empathy is the cognitive component.

In the research world, this is sometimes called Theory of Mind.

It's the ability to take another person's perspective, think about their experience,

and understand why it would make them feel the way they do.

This requires some mental gymnastics, so it's not a huge surprise that this seems to be

the hardest part of empathy for young children to do well, and it's easy to mistake for

selfishness or meanness.

One of the most well-known ways to study Theory of Mind is called a false belief task.

Like there's the Sally-Anne task, which involves a short scenario that gets played

out with dolls.

It goes like this: Sally has a basket, and her friend Anne has a box.

Sally puts a marble in her basket, and then leaves to go for a walk.

While Sally is gone, Anne takes the marble from the basket and puts it in her own box.

Jark move, Anne.

After all this, researchers ask children where Sally will look for the marble when she gets

back.

Kids under 3 years of age will usually say that Sally will look in Anne's box because

they saw the marble move, which sounds a little weird to our adult brains.

From other questions, researchers can tell that kids are following the logic of the story,

and understand that Sally didn't see the marble move.

But it seems like they have trouble understanding or expressing the fact that Sally's perspective

is different from their own.

Some researchers think that even if young kids might get that people have different

feelings and perspectives, they can't describe it with their cognitive and language abilities.

Because the brain systems involved in these abilities become more efficient as connections

between neurons develop and change, by the age of 4 to 5, answers start to change.

Basically, their brains are more able to process complex information.

So more kids say that Sally would look in her own basket for the marble, because that's

where she left it.

Now, the jury's still out on exactly how and when full-blown empathy develops.

But your first few years of life involve a lot of learning about feelings and thoughts.

Talking with kids about their emotions, suggesting ways they could show empathy, or even reading

stories about feelings can help them figure this stuff out.

And then, when they get a little older, you can just give them a good book… and also

maybe a box of tissues.

Also, if you happen to know any little kids and want to share a love of science with them,

you can check out our SciShow Kids channel, at youtube.com/scishowkids.

Lots, lots of really great videos there, but don't get ton of views.

So check them out and share them around, I think they are really good.

Is Logan Paul's Career Over? - Duration: 5:57.

Being in the public eye is precarious.

Having your actions judged by millions upon millions of people is a huge responsibility

and pressure that not everybody is cut out for.

Being a social media influencer is a fairly new concept, and a lot of Youtube stars don't

know how to handle their celebrity…which brings us to the latest Logan Paul controversy.

Hello and welcome back to Life's Biggest Questions – I am Rebecca Felgate and today

we're asking Is Logan Paul's Career Over?

I just want to add that this video is not intended to attack Logan, or to use his name

to garner views, but is instead intended to be a frank discussion about the rise and fall

of celebrities and people taking responsibility for their actions.

Before we launch into this video, I want to remind you guys to leave us a comment at the

end telling us what you think, and of course leave a thumbs up if you like our videos and

subscribe to be the first to hear new answers.

So.

Logan.

Logan, Logan, Logan.

Following what was, by all accounts, a somewhat epic 2017 for Logan Paul, He kicked off the

New Year by posting a video from his trip to Japan.

Without knowing it, this video was the spark that set his world on fire…but has his career

gone up in flames too?

The thing that people took issue with in Logan Paul's video was not that he took a trip

to the Aokigohara Forest, a popular Japanese Suicide spot at the base of Mount Fuji…

as we know by now, many youtubers have documented the haunting woodland.

What bothered people was his blasé approach to the popular death spot, the fact he showed

a dead body uncensored on camera, the jokes he made after coming across a suicide victim,

and to top it all off, his green alien hat which had about all the class of a person

dressing as a human banana at a funeral.

Queue the backlash and the decrying of Logan Paul's content, resulting in his own removal

of the video from youtube…an important difference between the platform itself removing the video.

Youtube's response regarding the controversy was certainly murky.

They released a statement via Philip DeFranco to say "Our hearts go out to the family

of the person featured in the video, YouTube prohibits violent or gory content posted in

a shocking, sensational or disrespectful manner.

If a video is graphic, it can only remain on the site when supported by appropriate

educational or documentary information and in some cases it will be age-gated.

We partner with safety groups such as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline to provide

educational resources that are incorporated in our YouTube Safety Center.

Interestingly, Youtube stopped short of calling out Logan Paul or heavily peanalising him,

which seems to indicate that his position with YouTube is still stable…of course,

just the month before he was heavily featured alongside his brother, Jake, in the Youtube

rewind.

Looking at Logan's Youtube stats on socialblade seem to suggest that, views and subscriberwise,

anyway , his actions in the video haven't affected his growth.

Despite not posting a video since his apology, he is still getting over 10 million views

a day; in fact, just days after he posted the video, he saw a huge spike in views.

He has also gained over 300,000 subs since the whole issue reached ahead….seemingly,

on youtube anyway, he is unaffected.

That being said, where he takes his content after this scandal is key to his continued

success.

But of course…

Logan Paul's uploads to youtube are just one area of his career….others may have

come away slightly more scathed, for example, his acting career.

Logan already severed ties with Disney last year, but other creatives may now be unwilling

to hire him for rolls, and the acting community seems pretty set against him, if Sophie Turner

and Aaron Paul's tweets are anything to go by.

It is possible that the Youtuber could suffer the Pewdiepie Effect and as a result loose

some of his commercial brand partnerships.

As for his clothing brand, it is unknown how the scandal has affected sales.

While drama like that which Paul creates will always get views on Youtube, perhaps brands

and the everyday person will now wish to distance themselves from his public image.

Speaking of public image, here seems like a good time to note that, when it comes to

youtube views, careers and public images are be separate things.

It wasn't just Logan Paul's suicide forest video that set tongues wagging about his credibility

as a so called entertainer – his buffoon like actions have long been discussed.

Also on his trip to Japan, he threw pokeballs at people in the street and littered the streets

with dead fish.

Website vox accurately calls Logan Paul's style of entertainment, Toxic Prank Culture,

and I think that's accurate, but for now, this kind of clownish hyperreality seems to

be what people want to see.

Sadly.

While Logan Paul may have reaffirmed his self styled public image as a culturally insensitive

clown with a low IQ, while he may have earmarked himself as a bad investment for brands, he

most certainly hasn't damaged his Youtube revenue.

While Youtube reigns, for now, so will Logan Paul…but he hasn't exactly done the apocalypse

any favours.

If this is what the platform is promoting, maybe brands who advertise on it may look

elsewhere…but then, if this is where the eyeballs are…why would they.

Logan Paul's career isn't over, but his actions do reflect badly on Youtube, which

poses more interesting questions about the longevity of the platform as a viable business

option… but of course, the is only room for one question in this video…

So, what do you guys think?

Is Logan Paul's career over?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Also, let me know what direction you think Logan Pauls videos will go after this whole

affair?

Do you think he has learned his lesson?

That is all we have time for in this episode of Life's Biggest Questions.

Thanks for tuning in.

I am your host Rebecca Felgate, I'll catch you in the next video, but for now stay curious,

stay alert and never ever stop questioning.

Channel & Reading goals 2018 - Duration: 7:18.

Hello everyone, welcome to my channel Books&Bobs, my name is Rob and today

I am bringing you my 2018 reading goals and my 2018 channel goals for this

booktube channel. So without further adieu let's get started! With regards

this channel 2017 was definitely not the best year that I've had. I started this

channel in 2016, I've really really enjoyed doing it but

I definitely hit a slump in 2017 where I literally just stopped making

videos. Now I have a feeling that was linked to my job I've become an SHO, I

have more responsibilities at work in the hospital, I had to do more exams, I've

to do more interviews so I've been preparing for all of these things and I

have a lot going on with that increased responsibility so it's been increasingly

hard to make videos. Also the fact that I live in Galway now and home is Limerick

so I tend to go home at the weekends and I can't film at home in Limerick anymore

because my stuff is in Galway and that kinda just makes things a little more

difficult for me so I think all of these things together have kind of made me

lazy, made me take a back seat and also have let this channel kind of dwindle a

tiny bit. It's great to see that everyone has kind of stuck along with me at this

point like my subscriber count has kind of stayed the same which is great

because I think it would have broken my heart if I had lost a lot of people

because of my laziness but it's nice to see that most people have stuck with me.

So this is the video to say that I am definitely setting goals in 2018 with

regards to this channel and my reading. Trying to get back on track and really

have to try and like push myself to stop becoming lazy keep doing something that

I absolutely love doing and really get more, like, involved in the community in

watching videos again, I even stopped watching booktube videos which is very

very odd for me but it kind of all just ended up taking a backseat! So this is my

video where I'm holding myself to task I think I made one of these last year.

Definitely I've got some of these, some of those old goals back in this video

again but this is where I'm going to hopefully set down what I'm gonna do and

keep track of it because I really really want to get back to the booktube

community. Okay so we're gonna start off with the

channel goals because I think that's the most important thing in 2018, the channel

goals what this channel is going to do or what I'm going to do with my channel

and just really really kind of reinvigorate it. First goal that I have

written down is consistently upload. I definitely need to upload more

consistently because I think this channels been quiet for at least a month

at this stage and even before that it had been quiet for two months so that's

just not acceptable because I really really like making videos uploading them

and just having fun and chatting with you guys so definitely want to

consistently upload a bit more. Also another plan that I had last year, which

made me really happy at the start of the first few months that I did it because I

got loads of messages from people, but I want to subtitle my videos again! Yes it

does take a lot of time but I got a lot of messages from people saying thank you

so much for subtitling your videos and I feel like it's something that I want to

do again and really really want to focus in on, because it makes them accessible

to so many more people. I'm gonna do more currently readings and TBRs because I

feel like that will set me in books that I'm going to read that month. I need to

set a attainable ones but I find that if I don't set something, I'm chopping and

changing books midway and I'm just, like, I feel like it's good to know what

people are reading! Goodreads is great but in video format I think it's nice to

upload a currently reading and they're nice and quick videos that kind of keep

you abreast of what I'm doing and allow you to kind of update things a bit more

easily so I'm gonna start doing TBR's again and keeping myself to task and

what I'm reading. To reinvigorated I'm gonna come up with a new intro and a new

outro now it might take me a month or so before I can put all the things together

to do it but I've been meaning to make a new intro for the channel for a while

and a new outro as well because it's kind of just very very samey at this

stage so they are what I'm gonna do for this year with the channel! Now onto my

reading goals. The first one: cut back on my reading goal for Goodreads. I've been

using it for the past few years to try and get me to read more and it

definitely does but last year I set it to 60 and I felt like I was just trying

to rush through it and try and, you know, make up books to get to the 60 and I

think it might have been a bit too much for how busy I got so I'm gonna cut it

back down to 50 and if I read more than 60 again that

would be great. If I read more than 50 even but I will be happy with myself if

I attain 50 and I feel like it's a goal that I won't be stretching myself

too much to read. I'm definitely going to put up more reviews on this channel.

Again with the videos falling behind the wayside I kind of stopped reviewing

books and that is kind of why I did this channel in the first place, just to talk

about books and get my opinions out there and get people talking in the

comments and seeing what they thought of the book so definitely want to read and

review more books on here. I want to read more topical books so things like The

Hate You Give and more topical things like Small Great Things and things that

are a bit more polarizing. I want to read more of those books to kind of just

interest me and keep me going because I really really found last year that I

liked some of those books that I read. Overall I want to just be less stressed

this year! I feel like the reading goal of 60 pushed me a little too much and I

was so stressed trying to hit those numbers. I was doing so well and then I

just really fell by the wayside so I really want to just be less stressed,

enjoy reading for what it is more and just really take in what I'm reading and

take my time with it so be less stressed in general that's one of my reading

goals. And finally the main goal that I want to do this year is I want to read

for pleasure more so if I am NOT enjoying a book I want to DNF it. I want to

be able to put that book down and pick up something that I will enjoy more. This

goes back to my TBRs as well. I don't really do mood reading very well because

I chop and change so much so if I set a TBR I'll read whatever that is but if

I'm not enjoying that book I want to be safe enough to say I'm gonna DNF it

and pick up something else so that's the thing that I want to do. I want to be

more fluid but also a bit more regimented as in I want to pick out

this book, if I don't like it I want to DNF it. So I'm going to read for pleasure

more this year! So they were all my goals for not only my YouTube channel but also

my reading this year and I feel like they're quite attainable, quite realistic

and quite practical I've done some of them before and I think it'll probably

work because it's more to be relaxed, enjoy reading again rather than hitting

numbers and getting stressed out over it. Please give this video a big thumbs up

if you like tit. Leave a comment down below with your reading goals or your

channel goals, what you're planning on doing and I will leave all my social

media links down below that is my Twitter, Goodreads and Instagram so

it for me guys I hope you all had a great end of 2017 and I hope you all

have a great 2018. I will see you in another video soon good bye
