Good morning - good morning. How are you lovely people doing?
So mom and I are going to Grandma's today. We're hanging out. You know - having
a good time, and to be exact that means that I just downloaded Word Feud, and I'm
playing with my mom, grandma, and uncle... Great-uncle technically. Um... However, I
looked up, and I was like: "wow we're so much fun!" Look at this. Phone time, okay.
Like really into. Grandma, how is it it going? How are you? - Ha ha, good. - OK, over here: look at this.
Like geez guys... Well, I mean I can't say much. I'm doing the same thing. Let's see.
What can we do? We're shopping around because we are going to the old Hoorn
market which is like a little market thingy. They have little tiny things set
up on tables. I'll show you, though, because we're not there yet, because
we're getting distracted first.
The (*In Dutch) VOC or VOC is a Dutch ship. Back in the day, they used to travel different
spices to Hoorn. It's pretty cool. They have it in the middle of the city. Pepper...
Cinnamon... Tea... Porcelain...
Wood... Nutmeg... I don't know what this is in English. And coffee. Pretty cool right?
Hoorn has so much history in the city. Okay, where did everyone else go? Oh.
There they are. But Hoorn has so much history in the city, so if you like
history, and if you like to travel, definitely check out Hoorn. Check it off your
checklist on the Netherlands. Definitely worth seeing.
I finally decided what I'm gonna have which was hard.
I'm gonna show you real quick what I got today, because it's very exciting. I got
this little book - notebook thingy, which I think is really cute, and it matches my
purse, because it's red and flowery which is
awesome. I forgot my notes, or my little notebook I use for YouTube, so I was like
you know what let's bring this. That's always convenient to have, because
whenever I have a good idea I write it down. I got cat toys, because I like cat toys. I
play with them. No, just kidding. It's for the kitties. I freakin' love this backpack.
It's a kid backpack, but I don't even care. It's so cute. It's a pug. It's a pug!
Cute, right? It's so cute! So, I'm gonna wear that soon. Not sure when
yet, but I need to match with my outfit. Oh my god! You know what would be funny?
If I have my cat shirt and then this one. Cat-pug. Cat-pug. I got a ladybug key chain
with a light, and it makes a really scary sound, but I like the ladybug and the
fact that it had a light. And I have a little ducky for Wes, because my brother
for some reason started collecting ducks - ducks. Tadadada! I got old school wooden
shoes that are actually used, and, yes, people actually really walk on these. Not
as many as they used to. Um, however, some people, like especially
farmers and all, will still wear these. Um, but I've never owned my own pair. Why not?
Why have I never owned my own pair wooden shoes? - Because we don't want in it either.
Have you ever walked in them? - No. - Grandma, have you ever walked in wooden shoes?
Have you ever walked in wooden shoes? - If you've walked in wooden shoes.
No, never. - Not even even my grandma has? Really? - Grandpa. Grandpa B. - Grandpa B did. Well, apparently my grandfather. It
was a typical Dutch person and wore wooden shoes, but the tradition didn't
continue to where I walked on them which, probably, my feet will thank me for it
because there really uncomfortable. They're actually wood, and the inside, just so you know,
there's nothing in there. Like, it's... it's wood. It's uncomfortable, hard, and heavy.
And then my got another little Dutch souvenir that I'm also gonna hang up. A
little plate. Delfts Blauw, so yeah... That's what I got. Pretty cute.
Yeah... I'm running after my mom who's looking for the wraps, because I'm gonna cook
dinner tonight for everyone. - Here are the beans. - So, I am making two batches of these fake chicken
pieces for the wraps. I made them in the US. I said that kind of funny. I made them
in the US before. I'm gonna adjust it just a bit to make it a little bit more
filling, so I'm asking my brother: "Hey, can you clean this for me and put it in a bowl?"
Wes...
Okay, please do it properly now. - Yes, that's fine. - OK, thank you. So I'm waiting for this
butter to melt, and then season the chicken! And one not so spicy for Grandma.
Hey, wash it well! - Yes.
Don't... No, no, no. Don't push like that. - I'm pushing just a little. - Wes...
It's like a massage. Just look. - Wes... Did you wash your hands? - Yes.
OK, you can warm them both.
OK. - I'm not sure if we need this one.
Yum, look at this mixture guys, and look at the table. I'm making everyone eat my
amazing wraps, but it has extra chicken as I already mentioned. I'm excited.
Eat deliciously wherever you are in the world. Hopefully you're getting yourself
some food, or maybe you want to try this out. It's really good.
The seasonings I used are paprika. Let me show you a little closer. There we go. We used garlic.
Oh... Garlic is what that is, an paprika I already said in English. Um this is cumin, and
then let's see the other one is cayenne pepper powder. I also like to just use
chili powder. That works as well. And yeah, so there we have it.
Mom's rolling it. Rolling it up. - Well... - Oh, and she tore her thing apart.
You do it like that? Or like this? - You can do a special... - You can do it like that, grandma. - What I always do, is like this, and then you grab the corners. - Oh, yes, and then...
Oh yes, I see them do it like that. - And the other corner. - Is it delicious? - You can fold this in a little bit. - Uhu.
I always try, but it goes wrong. - Do you have sauce? - Sauce? That's this.
Oh. - If you need more, you need to add more stuff. - He misses garlic sauce. - With garlic sauce it'll be tasty for sure.
And now it's time for dessert. We have this dessert in Holland,
and then you put it upside down, and then used to, like, poke it with a knife, but
they took that away, so that kind of sucks. Anywho, what did you guys think of
dinner. - It was good. - It was good. - Good, good.
What about y'all? - Meh. - Iffy? - What about you? - Deliciously. - Good.
I liked it too. I'm filled, and, oh! soon, I didn't mention this yet, I'm gonna go
pole dancing with Sharon. I'm excited, because it's like a trial lesson, but first it's
time for dessert. Hmm! Yum - yum - yum.
Sharon and I are - our... I can't talk... are on our way to... - Pole dancing! - Yeah! Are you excited? - Yes, I am.
I'm excited too. Like really excited. First, we have to get there, though. So... - Yeah, indeed.
Let's see how that goes. I didn't look up where we have to go at all, so
I'm kind of a bad friend - letting Sharon do all the hard work of
figuring out navigation and stuff. Roundabout! This is... What is this called?
What kind of a roundabout? - A turbo roundabout. A turbo roundabout. - Yeah.
And it's called a turbo roundabout, because it has two lanes. So what you're
about to see is the AZ stadium, or the AZ stadium... playing field... There you go.
Wow! That's where people from AZ play soccer.
So there you go: the stadium. Do you want to explain to everyone what that sound is? - Well, this is my
grandpa's car, and yes, some... well... I know what actually it is in the back, but every
time I turn, like, something falls down. - But according to her it's okay, so we'll figure it out. - Yeah.
And that's the stick shift, guys. That's what we use here.
So that was actually really, really fun. This is my second pole dancing class ever, and I didn't feel
like I was lost. I felt like I was actually doing something that made sense.
Yeah. - That was good. - It was really nice dancing class, like,
the teacher - she was really nice. She explained everything very well. She
walks around, and she gave some tips, and yeah. - Yeah, it was really good. Like, the
whole feel of it: it felt really comfortable, really interesting, really
fun. Like it was really fun. - Yeah. She was also fun - smiling the whole time. - Yeah! It was
really fun, and the music was good too. - Yeah, indeed. - Like it was a really good time. I
don't even remember if there was music the first time I did it. Anywho,
tomorrow I'm probably gonna be covered with a few bruises here and there, and
not that I did anything, like, too crazy. - We just did some spinning
around to pole, or actually different spins, and we made little
choreography... - Yeah. - ...of spins so it was nice. - Yeah, it was. I kind of thought about
filming it, but then I kind of felt awkward, and I can't film anyone else
doing it of course. - Yeah, because there are a lot of people, and there were mirrors everywhere, so you
cannot really only film yourself. - Yeah, exactly.
Besides, that's kind of awkward to do especially since I'm not too great at it.
Huh! And then I was home and showered. Please
don't mind my hair. I literally just combed it and shook it out, and I'm not
even gonna bother blow-drying my hair right now, because it's nighttime, and
mama and I are drinking some wine as you can see right here, and are... we are going
to watch a movie. What's it called again? - Hartenstraat
Heart street... which I've no idea what it's about, but it's a Dutch movie. I
just wanted to share something with you. Pole dancing is painful. It's fun,
definitely, but it's painful, and I already have something on my leg right
here as you can see, and I just wanted to tell you that, because tomorrow I bet
it's gonna look a lot worse. OK, anywho, time for a movie. Time for wine. I love
you mommy. - I love you. - Cheers. - Cheers. - Here's to a good night.
