Hello everybody and welcome back to my channel
I love makeup looks that just play up the natural structures of the face well to a certain extent
But today, I wanted to do something that
Totally plays into my love of keeping things natural and simple and that is to teach you guys how to do some of the top
Korean makeup trends now
there are a lot of
Korean people who have done a video of this sort before so I'm going to list them like a few of my favorites here obviously
for a look into the culture of
Korean makeup and kind of why it exists in the way that it does I would defer to these people and not me and
my lily-white nough
Scott as like my take on the Korean trends, which I really really love and I think everyone should
At least be aware of them. If not use some of the techniques because they are truly beautiful
Korean makeup and Korean skincare is always on the forefront of like
What's trending next so I definitely think we're gonna be seeing a lot more
Natural kind of underplayed makeup looks from people in 2018. I think I hope
We'll see
Anyway, let's get started
So for my face today
I'm going to be using two different products and one is the complete CC cream which I am running solo on but this is a
Big trend and new Korean skincare especially is skin whitening or skin brightening is what they usually call it skin brightening or whitening?
So this is a little bit pale for me for
Probably pretty much anyone, but I like to use this in the center of my face
And then I use this imperfect Cutler BB cream, which is a little bit closer to my actual skin tone?
It's maybe like a hair darker, but if I use them both together, then it usually will balance each other out
so I'm going to use a buffing brush for both of them, and I'm just going to start off with the light one and
Put it in the center of my face the great thing about using BB and CC creams is that it will automatically give you
your at least first layers of sunscreen, and it's a good moisturizer, so
Some of the negatives to using CC creams is that some of them can be quite oily?
So I would say just really you know take your time to figure out
Which ones are going to work for you because definitely if you have oily skin you're gonna want to find one that's more mattifying
Either way you can powder them, but definitely if you're starting early and you already have oily skin
Then that's not gonna be fun for you. I'm going into the M perfect cover, and you can see that
That's more my skin tone
and I'm gonna use that around the perimeter and just a teeny tiny bit and some of my color issues like my
Reddened skin and such and we're still going to go over some of my spots with a concealer, so not me
I'm going to go over some of my spots with the concealer, so it's not a big deal
If I'm not getting everything blanked out at this point the idea is to look glowy and dewy
And all of those other things that mean
Damn, alright my veins are all crazy
So now I'm gonna go in with elfs highlighter from the highlighter and my circle thing
business that you guys
Know I love and that just takes care of a good amount of the color before I even go in trying to conceal anything
And now I'm going to go into my naked skin concealer
I'm gonna put some of that
Just on a pallet in front of me
And now I'm going to grab my duo fiber brush and some of that concealer
And I'm just going to work it into any of the areas where I have
More pigment issues so mainly just around my nose a little bit on my cheeks a little bit on my head
Forehead not head head does that pigment issue is my hair
So this is my favorite
technique for doing really natural looking coverage is just using a teeny tiny brush with a little bit of concealer and
Really working it in and then you get a very natural look as opposed to if you apply it straight from the applicator
It's gonna be quite a bit thicker than you need probably okay
So my skin is basically done now the only thing that I'm going to do is powder it
And I'm going to use two different kinds of powder so one is just my urban decay pressed powder
And I'm basically just going to set around my nose any areas that get a little bit too dewy
Or any areas that I had to conceal
And we can always go back and touch those up if they're peeking through later, and now using the same brush
I'm going to go in with I believe this has been knife fair
It's basically a pinky peach a setting powder
So I'm just going to use that under the eyes to kind of cancel out a little bit more of any of that colour it
Works really well I'm red
Let's move along to eyebrows before we do anything else so curry
And I brought trends kind of err on the side of natural, but they do play up a more straight brow
I don't think that looks good for everybody so I would say just
Kind of if you're wanting to play with that trend you can straighten it out a little bit
But not everyone is made to have a straight brow if you have a big arch
It's going to look a little bit ridiculous for you to try to create a straight brow
With a giant arch and a whole bunch of like obvious makeup that is covering no hair
So I would say you could make them straight, but in general if your brows are already quite arched
There is no reason for you to try to force that so first
I'm going to go in with my brow powder duo, and I'm going to use the lightest color
And I'm gonna start filling in just any empty spots in my brow
And kind of giving myself a tail since I don't have one and I can start to kind of
Polish up the top line of my brow, too
And I like to use this really really light color to start off with so that you
Know that you're going to get a more natural look than if you use something else if you start out dark then you're probably not
Going to have a natural look at all all right now
I'm gonna go in with dip brow by anasazi Beverly Hills, and this is a darker color
This is my color which is ebony
and I'm just going to
Start to kind of create some little hairs here so that I can create a slightly straighter brow
I'm not gonna go too heavy. I think that's like quite enough. I can't get it any straighter than that
It's not going to happen or I'm going to look completely insane
So I'll strengthen this kind of bottom line a little bit and try to give myself some little hairs
And at some point you just have to say that's cool enough
That's good enough little tiny eyebrows it could but it could not you know lots of Korean brands have those eyebrow markers
And that's really what I should get is an eyebrow marker because if you use the powder under and the eyebrow marker over it actually
Will look pretty convincing from you know from a reasonable distance a lot of Korean makeup is about
Accenting what you already have and a little bit of it is about creating that kind of like very oval shape that they like
However, if you have you know really intense bone structure you cannot you cannot cheat your bone structure
There's no way to like really get rid of it, so I like to just kind of work with what I have
using the same kind of general idea of
You know the way that they block off their face essentially so I am going to use this fluffy fan brush
and I'm going to dip it in some cooler bronzer and
This lightly take it right here
And that'll give me a little bit of color and a little bit of structure without having to use any sort of contouring powder which
They really don't use I have to give myself a little color on the chin, and the nose as well
I'm gonna take the same brush, and I'm going to dip it into Tarte
Party this little trial size that I got for my birthday from Sephora has been working for me
I love this color, and I'm going to very gently work it into the apple of the cheek
And you want to keep it up pretty high
And just make sure everything is like really lifted the other thing that I like to do is hit right here
Okay, we're gonna save the highlight for in a bit, but for right now
Let's go ahead and start on the eyes, so I'm gonna go in with Urban Decay primer potion
And I'm just going to use a little bit of that as my primer for my eyes
Whatever powder is left over on my powder brush and is going to tap that on so the first color
I'm gonna go into is this peachy color called orange soda by Anastasia, Beverly Hills
and I'm gonna grab a kind of big flat brush and
Just sweep, it across
All right now to
Give my eye. Shape a little bit more dimension
I'm gonna go in with wedge by Mac with a big fluffy brush, and I'm just going to look straight forward
And you have gently put it where I need it
and this is the best thing that you can do for yourself if you have a
monolid or if you if you have kind of more of a footed lid is to give yourself a little bit more
Structure in the actual eye socket not necessarily where your crease is
And I'm gonna use rich Brown by honest as you have everly Hills just to
Give myself a little bit more of a lash line keep it really close though
This will just make it easier to lay down your real liner later
That way if you miss any spots, it's not that big of a deal and you can give yourself a little bit more dimension
Right here as well just on the outside though
You just want to stick to the outer third of the lower lash line now grab a blending brush
That's a little bit smaller, and we're gonna go into that same color that we used before a wedge
And we're gonna put it a little bit stronger just in the corner
you don't have to be too precise about this part because this is just going to be a
Transition color for our corner all right now
We're gonna go in with fawn by Anasazi of Beverly Hills, and we're just going to accent the outer V
And I'm just rubbing any excess off on the back of my hand so that I can just kind of Pat a little bit in
There and you can also work off the back of your hands, so if you had some left over
You don't have to waste it
and you can take the brush that you used for orange soda and just make sure that it's
All connected there all right so from here
It is 100% up to you if you want to do a little bit more in the corner
so you can take this a little bit heavier if you want to but in general you want to stick to kind of peachy and
warmer tones okay now
I'm gonna go back into that darker Brown now that I kind of know that everything is where I want it to be and
I'm going to continue that line out just a little bit, so you're not wanting to wing up you're wanting to wing
Slightly down if you have upturned eyes, or if you have down turn to eyes try to go straight across
This is not a typical winged eyeliner look. I'll go nuts so the reason Koreans really love this kind of
Downturn - I look is about kind of looking like a puppy
So it's it's very much looking youthful and kind of having those like big dull eyes
That's that's the look that we're going for here all right now
I'm going to go into a little bit of brown liner, and I'm just using the cream liner by elf, and I'm just going to
Polish up my little tiny mini wing and as you can see it's easy to go American with it
Start to kind of do what you're used to instead of sticking with a trend
and I'm also going to connect just a little bit here just in the outside corner and
Don't forget to do your inside corner
You also want to connect into the tear duct, but you don't want to go into the water line alright
So now we're at my favorite favorite part, so
Koreans love this like I said they love the kind of look of having those big doe eyes like the kind of very youthful
Almost babyish eyes and part of that is having kind of more of a fat bag right under here
So I can't remember the exact word of it, and I'm fairly certain
I would just destroy it with my awful American accent, but
It's super cute, and it's just like you just call it eye bags. I guess you're super American, and I think for this one
I'm going to do the incandescent light which is the lightest one?
And I'm just going to pop that right
There and because I like really do not naturally have eye bags at all
I am gonna have to do a little bit of contouring first
one just do a little bit of this guy and actually you know what I'm gonna go into a
Better highlighter so that maybe I can make that a little bit stronger
Yeah, I don't think the ambient light was gonna do it for me
I'm just putting this where an eye bag would be for me all right and with an angled little fluffy brush go into any sort
of a
very very light cool toned Brown and
Just take a little tiny bit of it go right under think what am I using? I'm using wedge by Matt
that way
You don't have to do this if you actually do have eye bags
And that kind of makes them stand out just the putting a highlighter on them alone
But because I do not have I you gotta create a little Sun the other thing
I'm gonna do is go into that brush that you used for the kind of peachy tone
and I'm just going to brighten right in the center here and
Just a little bit right here
And I'm gonna go into the hourglass palette again and use incandescent
Just right on the tops of my cheeks you want this to look very natural
So I'm not going to use like a heavy-duty highlighter
And I'm gonna take a little bit of that incandescent on my finger and put some right here
And then you can close your eyes and put some right there - we're gonna go ahead and curl our lashes
and put on some mascara and
With the mascara make sure you're not going too crazy again you want this to look a little bit more natural
You don't want to look like you're wearing two false lashes
But you do want to build it up a little bit out of the corner
So make it look like you have kind of like a couple of
single lashes on and really rub at the root - and if you need to you can go in with a clean spoolie and
Take care of any chunkies cause you really want this to look more delicate and a little bit on
Your lower lashes - now because my eyes are a little bit red on the inner corner
I am going to put a little bit of Nyx's wonder pencil and light on my inner eye
Just to kind of open it up a teeny tiny bit and now we get to do the lips the lips are my favorite part
By the body so you are gonna need three things you're gonna need a kind of your lip tone
but better lipstick you're gonna need a
Very dark red or a very dark pink lipstick, and if you want to kind of kick it up a little notch
You can use a gloss on top of that
I really love using the gloss of this look as this one right here
And I do not have any of these labeled
I know that this is a Mac color, but do not remember which one and I'm gonna grab that one first and
Take it over my lips, and I did leave my lips kind of covered in foundation
Just to make this easier, so if you leave your foundation on your lips. It's actually gonna be a
lot easier to
Get the look that we're going for with this one and now you're gonna grab a red
I know that this is and why sculler so
look for kind of like a
True red I'm gonna put that right in the center of my lips
and I forget what they call this one - I wish I was better with foreign language because
Like the names of them are so cute. I think they call it something like
Popsicle mouth like you know when you've been eating something that has like a lot of unnatural coloring
And it kind of leaves a ring on the inside of your mouth
That's what it is, and this is actually a red
but it's coming off pink so that's kind of you you need it deeper and more vibrant color than you think you do and I
Like to use a bigger brush for this so that I can blend it out a little easier
So you basically just hold it flat against and only have the product right at the end and we're done
