You don't have to worry about me now.

I'll be alright.

Does it help you sleep better at night, knowing your not on my mind?

& I want you to help yourself 'cause i can't help you until, you want it too.

& I want you to love yourself, 'cause i can't love you until you know it's true

Tired of the fighting, all the useless crying, I wipe these tears from my eyes, 'cause when you say 'I love you', it's a lie.

Photoshop CC: Create Beautiful Mandalas & Spirographs using Variable Radial Symmetry. - Duration: 5:24.

Hi. This is Marty from Blue lightning TV.

Photoshop version CC has a feature that many people don't know it has.

It's called "Variable Radial Symmetry".

This feature essentially allows you to draw beautiful spirographs or mandalas with your brush or pencil tools.

Create a new document by going to File and New.

I'll make the Width and Height 1000 pixels each and its Resolution: 150 pixels per inch,

however, you can make them whatever size you'd like.

The Color is RGB and 8 bits per channel.

Open the Background Contents and pick white or you can click the box and pick white.

Then, click "Create" or Open.

In order to open the symmetry feature, we need to enable it in our Preferences.

Go to Edit, Preferences and "Technology Previews".

Check "Enable Paint Symmetry".

I'll open my Pencil Tool, however, you can also use the Brush Tool.

If you're using the Pencil Tool, as well, open your Pencil Picker.

Make its Size anywhere from 2 to 5 pixels with a Hardness and Opacity of 100%.

If you're using version CC 2018, you have an additional feature called, "Smoothing".

This feature smooths out your brush strokes in real time.

So, for example, if the Smoothing is 0, you 'll see that when I draw, the lines are kind of jittery.

I'll press Ctrl or Cmd + z to undo it.

When I increase Smoothing to 100, my lines are much smoother.

I'll cover the Smoothing feature in more detail in a future tutorial.

For now, I'll keep it at 100%.

Click the butterfly icon to open the list of symmetries from which you can choose.

To create a mandala or spirograph, click "New Dual Axis".

This creates a vertical and horizontal line as reference.

It opens with a Transform Tool's bounding box that can be resized, repositioned, stretched

or squeezed.

However, since we're creating a symmetrical mandala spirograph, let's accept it's default

symmetry as it is by clicking the check-mark at the top.

Open your Paths path panel.

If you don't see it, go to Window and Paths.

We can create a mandala by either renaming our path, "Radial Symmetry 12" or " Mandala Symmetry 10".

The radial symmetry maximum amount is 12, while the mandala symmetry maximum amount is 10.

We'll see the difference between the two symmetries in a moment.

As we paint on our document, Photoshop repeats and rotates the paint strokes around the radial axis.

However, if we want to mirror our paint strokes,

we'll rename the path, "Mandala Symmetry 10".

Since we'll make this into our finished mandala, open the Layers panel

and click the New Layer icon to make a new layer.

We'll use this empty layer to paint the strokes and use the background layer for the background.

This time, as we paint, Photoshop is mirroring the strokes as it rotates them around the axis.

Make the background active Let's fill it with gradient colors.

Open your Gradient Tool and make sure the Radial Gradient icon is active.

Open your gradient thumbnails.

You can click any one of these or to see more choices, click the gear icon.

I'll click "the "Noise Samples" preset, but feel free to choose whatever you like.

When you see this message, click OK to replace your current gradients with the gradients you just picked.

I'll click this one.

Once you click yours,

go to the center of your design and press and hold the Shift key as you drag straight across.

Make the mandala active and click the New Layer icon to make a new layer above it.

In this empty layer we'll create another gradient, which will fill the mandala.

To do this, we need to clip this gradient to the mandala, so as to not fill the background.

Press Ctrl + Alt + G on Windows or Cmd + Option + G on a Mac

or you can go to Layer and "Create Clipping Mask".

Click a different gradient.

Go to the center and this time, I'll drag it to the upper, right.

This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV.

Thanks for watching!

Read in 2018: Books #1-3 [CC] - Duration: 11:49.

Hi guys, it's Nash and I just wanted to briefly catch you guys up on what I've been

able to read so far.

So, starting off, my first finished read was Piper Perish by Kayla Cagan and I absolutely

love this.

This follows our main character Piper Perish and her last semester in high school and the

struggles that she gets into trying to make her dreams come true because she's an artist,

she loves to paint and she wants to make art for a living so she wants to get out of the

little town in Texas, I think she is um, and she wants to go to school in New York and

as I mentioned, make art for a living.

But obviously, it's not as easy as it sounds and even less with someone who lives in a

little town and doesn't have the economical means to go so you follow her struggles and

how badly she wants to go to school in New York and just her friends and her lifestyle-

I would say this is a "slice of life" type of book, it's contemporary and it's

written in a journal/letter form.

I think the correct term is "epistolary"?

And so you know what you're kinda getting into and the feel that you're gonna get,

I would kinda compare this to Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky but this is

definitely something in it's own right and amazing individually.

It's just so that you know kind of the feel that you might get when reading this.

But the blurb in the back perfectly puts the whole book in perspective and it says that

this book is a love letter to the artistic life filled with glamour, passion, hunger

and heartbreak.

And that was Hope Larsson who has written a couple of graphic novels so I'm pretty

sure that she kind of saw this hitting home for her, personally.

But, with that said, if you are someone who has ever considered a creative career- pursuing

after it or pursuing something in the arts, you should put this in your radar and try

picking it up.

It's something that's fun but also relatable and I mean, you know, everyone can enjoy this

book but more specifically someone who has tried to pursue a creative career and kind

of, you know, gone through what people around you might deem impossible, might find this

more relatable and more enjoyable because it sort of hits home.

But I absolutely love this book and I am looking forward to checking out anything else by this

author.

And I saw in GoodReads that this is possibly gonna have a second book, I don't know if

it's going to be a continuation or a companion novel of sorts but I'm very excited just-

I wanna read it, I don't care what its about, I just wanna read it.

But before I go on to the next read I wanted to show you the hardcover without the dust

jacket.

Stunning.

I really love this.

And I haven't really seen much people talk about it so, I thought I would talk about

it a little bit and let you know that this book exists cause just, I loved it.

But my next finished read of this year was Go On Girl, Keep Dreaming: A special book

about how to believe in yourself always by Ashley Rice.

This is a nonfiction kids book, particularly a book for girls on how to believe in yourself,

how to build up self-esteem and I am already in my 20s, I am not a little girl but this

is a book that I have had ever since I was 12 because my grandmother saw it and gave

it to me as a gift, and I am very grateful for that.

I think this is something that any girl from possibly like, 9 years up will very much appreciate

and save as a token, as I have, to revisit later.

This was very necessary for to me to be able to kind of accept myself and build on my self-confidence

and so if you know of a little girl in your life who might need something like this, definitely

pick it up.

It's available in English, I have the Spanish translation but it's a fun little book with

kind of, advice and uplifting words a bunch of illustrations throughout both in black

and white and also in color.

It has kind of like little poems and quotes thrown in there as well.

And it's narrated by a fictional character called Penelope J. and I found it very fun

but more than fun, it's also kind of necessary and gets to the point.

It talks a lot about girl empowerment and girl love and that sort of stuff.

I really love this and I'm very happy that I was able to read it when I feel like I needed

it the most which was when I was in my preteens.

This page says a message from Penelope: "Peace and love to everyone but specially to my sisters,

who keep me strong".

"Sisters" referring to, you know, every single female around planet earth and I found

that to be very, very sweet in a way.

It also has sections in which you can write what you want to do and sort of, like- this

one says, Things That I want To Do When I Grow Up so that's kind of how you know that

its more so meant for little girls so that they can kind of start having goals and that

sort of thing.

But since I didn't dare to write down in a book when I was that age, I kind of wrote

a few days ago and um, wrote where I am now versus where I was when I was this age, how

far I've come, the things that I still want to do… and all of that sort of fun and empowering

stuff so yeah.

Definitely, if you see this, pick it up and give it to a special little girl in your life.

She's going to cherish it for years to come, I'm very, very sure.

And the last book that I have to talk to you guys about today, I don't have it as a physical

copy right now because my copy is out in loan to a friend.

But I made it a mission of mine to read this book again before the movie premiered and

that is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline.

Anyone who knows me for any period of time who has actually talked to me about books

knows that I am completely, entirely Ready Player One trash.

Uh, I love this book.

I have nothing else to say.

I really enjoyed it this time around, reading it like it was the first time ever.

Um, I do have to say I didn't enjoy it as much as I did when I read it back when I was

in high school, I would probably bump it down a star.

I am aware that it has problems, I am aware that it has room for improvement but I still

have fun every time that I read it, I still love it, I still kind of put myself in the

characters' shoes I just- I love it, I'm complete trash for this, um- but I do have

to say though that I really hope the book takes- no, okay…- the film, that Steven

Spielberg is—it feels like it's coming full circle… freaking Steven Spielberg—okay

(chuckles).

With the film that's about to premiere I do hope that they take kind of, the issues

in the book and make them better in the film if that makes sense?

Like, the things that are not that good in the book, I hope that they make them better

for sake of representation, that certain things are done in a better way.

I don't really wanna say anything else cause like, spoiler sensitive I guess?

Just in case.

Um, but I do hope that representation in all kinds of means is better handled in the film.

I have seen every single trailer that has come out, I do know that it's not gonna

be the exact book, I don't expect it to be.

But I do know that I am going to enjoy it just as much, if not more, than what I have

been able to love the book.

You know, even though I bump it down a star for terms of the issues that it has and that

my enjoyment has kind of faltered, its still my favorite book guys, I still love it, I'm

complete trash for this, I am very, very excited- about ten times more now after reading the

book again- for the film and I just Ugh, that Ho Topic merch I just… okay.

But yeah, those are the books that I have been able to read so far um, I do have to

ask, do any of you plan on watching Ready Player One in theaters, have any of you read

the book?

Do any of you plan to read the book before the movie comes out?

And all that sort of good stuff, I want to talk to you guys about in the comments cause

like, I think I'm driving the people in my real life kind of crazy with this and the

movie itself, and the book but just- I love so much; so much that I was swilling to read

it in any sort of way, be that audiobook or kindle before the movie came out because my

copy- my friend has my copy right now and I hope that my friend is enjoyin it as much

as I'm hoping that they are but yeah um…

I-i spaced out.

Oh, my bad.

Yeah I just wanna- I don't wanna keep fangirling unnecessarily about this but yeah, I really

enjoyed reading Ready Player One this time around as well and I'm very excited for

the movie!

Okay so like, that is all for this video in particular, I hope that you guys enjoyed it

and I will talk to you all relatively soon.

Probably sooner in the comments if any of you comment but just, yeah, bye.

Eep.
