BOOKS & MAKEUP TAG [CC] - Duration: 15:45.

Hey guys. What's up? It's Lainey and today I am doing the books and makeup tag. This

tag was created by Sara from SarawithoutanH. I have, sort of, done this

video already before as a collab over on Connor from Connor O'Briens's channel, so

you guys can check that out if you would like to. I'll link that down below as well.

So without further ado, let's get started. Okay so my face is a little red. That's

because I got out of the shower like a half hour ago. The first question is primer.

Which is a book that has had a lasting impression on you. I'm gonna be kind of,

highbrow pretentious right now when I say The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey

Eugenides. Tere's a lot of books that have been a lasting impression on me.

This one has had such a lasting impression on me that I ended up getting

a tattoo of one of the quotes that's in this book. It's on my ribcage. It's the

second tattoo I got. So, I really liked it. When it comes to the makeup, I actually

don't really use a specific primer. I tend to just moisturize my face before I

start applying my makeup. I've already moisturize my face, but the

one I use is the Ultra Repair Cream by First Aid Beauty. I got it at Sephora.

Moving on to the next one. Foundation. Which is your favorite first book in a

series. And this was really hard, but I wanted to choose one that was a complete

series that I've read all the way through. And that I decided to choose

The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski. I love this series. It's so underrated I feel

like. I want to reread it this year. The foundation I use is the Naked foundation.

Liquid foundation. I've used it now for a couple years. I really like it. The shade that

I use is the lightest shade that they have, of course. 0.5. Because I am very very

pale. Oh, I guess I should be talking. I don't know... What am I talking about in

this? Oh, so lately. Over the past like, several

months, I have not been using eyeshadow. I don't know if it's because it's like

I'm getting older and I'm just like, do not care what I look like when I leave? I

mean obviously I do. My everyday makeup tends to just be my foundation routine

and then eyebrows and then I put eyeliner on and mascara and lipstick. I don't

know how I'm gonna edit this, I'm like so boring. I have no idea what this actually

looks like. I'm sitting in front of my window. The blinds are closed because if

I open them, oh my god I'd be like a ghost. I think this looks

okay. It looks blended in the mirror, so that's good. I feel like every booktuber

that does this always prefaces it by going like, "I'm not a beauty guru."

And that's true. I mean I'm not a beauty guru, however, everything I've learned

about makeup I've learned through YouTube. Everything that you see me doing,

I've seen at least someone else do. We're gonna call this done. The next question

has to do with concealer. The concealer I'm using is the NYX HD

Photogenic Concealer. I really like it. It's very cheap and while I do have like,

a lot of like, higher-end products that I get at Sephora, I'm down with using

regular stuff too, I guess. Oh and the reason why I switched to this was because

Riley told me that it works the same way as the Naked Concealer does and I used

to use the Naked Concealer. I don't see a difference between the NYX and the

the Naked Concealer if you're looking for something a little bit cheaper. A character

you wish you could get rid of. So I would have said Tris Prior from

Divergent, but I mean that's kind of, taken care of. I decided to use another

character that is in a book, but I haven't read the book, but I've watched the

TV series and that's gonna be from Game of Thrones.

The one that I want to erase is Jon Snow. I haven't liked him since about season

five maybe? He's so annoying. I think it's like the hero complex in him that really

annoys me. I still look so white, Jesus. The next thing that's on the list is

powder. Maybelline Dream Powder? Dream Wonder. The book question for this one is

your favorite last book in a series. Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo. I just

totally remember my entire experience of reading this book for the first time.

I read it back in like, 2015 I think, and I just I loved it. I loved the ending and I

know the ending is like either you love it or you hate it, and I'm one of those

people that absolutely loved the ending. it just made sense. This is exactly how I

expected it to end. At least I can say I successfully disappeared the redness

that was when I got out the shower. There's no contouring question, so I'm

just gonna real quick do my contouring. I don't go extra with my contouring.

I pretty much just do like what they basically tell you to do. Which is like,

crown the face. So in like a "three." So that's what I do and since I am so white

I don't like to do a lot of contouring or it's gonna be like a bunch of dirt

on my face. It's from the Sephora brand. They just

told me to get it and I was just like, "Okay, I'll get that." Question number five

is a book you think that everybody should read. So I'm picking The Hate U

Give by Angie Thomas, which I just read. On my brows I'm using Anastasia Brow Wiz.

In Medium Brown because even though I'm a redhead, my eyebrows are brown. I also

don't go extra with my eyebrows either. I basically just fill in the front end because

that's the reason why I like, started to do my eyebrows. Because in pictures that

I used to take in college it looked very sparse towards the front of my eye. Look

how fucked up that looks. Super hairy, not so hairy. Oh yeah. So, The Hate U Give. I

mean, if you don't know. It's obviously about Black Lives Matter. I think

everybody should read it, but it's one of those books that I think is universal.

Kind of like how like all those books that we used to read in high school... all

the classics... I think honestly, The Hate U Give is gonna be like one of those, in

like 50 years, people will be reading The Hate U Give in classrooms. I mean, I

know they are already, but it's like one of those like, super required reading

ones. Like everybody read The Great Gatsby in high school? Everybody's gonna

be reading this book. Quick put some brow gel over it. Also from Anastasia. This is

just a sampler that I'm still using. Next is eyeshadow. This is gonna take me

forever. I'm going to be using the Modern Renaissance Palette from Anastasia

Beverly Hills. This is like my favorite palette. Up until here, I've been--I used

a lot of Urban Decay's Naked palettes. So, that's all I have. I decided to splurge a

little and get these beautiful colors. And a lot of them scare me. I stick with

the nudes, and the browns, and the bronzes, but like, this one was making me go

out of my comfort zone and using the cranberries in this... in this palette. I'm

actually gonna do a cranberry look, because why not?

First I'm gonna prime it. And I use the Urban Decay Primer Potion. Always have.

I don't think I will change that. I always like doing I shadow

looks with this one because they always look so bad when I'm starting it and I'm

always like, what did I get myself into? Why does this look so orange on my face?

But then, by the time I finish it, it looks really nice. The book question for this

is your favorite colors on a cover. My favorite color is blue. I also like the

super rich bold jewel tones. So the one I chose for this one is These Broken

Stars by Meghan Spooner and Amie Kaufman and the reason why I chose it

obviously, it's blue in the back. The girl in here is a ginger so, I tend to like

gingers. And the green is a super emerald-y jewel tone color. I really like all

those colors that combine on this cover. Okay primer potion is on. I guess I've

already like, talked about the book so I guess I'm just gonna talk about like,

my process of putting the eyeshadow on. So the first thing I do is I use this

color, Raw Sienna and I put that into my crease. It's just a transition color.

So that when I'm building the other colors, it's a good base color to have for

the blending. And I just put a whole lot of it on there. So definitely put too

much on my right hand side. What's the one piece of advice that I would give

someone? There's never a phrase called "too much blending." Whenever you think

you've blended enough, blend at least for another 30 seconds.

I just want to impart that piece of wisdom onto everybody. You could never

blend enough. So I think I've blended that enough. Next I'm going in with the

orange called Realgar and I'm pretty much putting that on top of what I just did.

The next thing is to blend all of that out. So it's around this part of the

stage where I'm like, "What did I just do to my face?" Because they're just such

harsh colors, but then once you blend everything out it looks really good.

So, next I am just gonna do my brow bone. The lightest shade in the palette which is,

Tempera. Which is that one over there. You can't really see it just because like, my

brow bone is already white. It's the thought that counts. It's there. I'm just

blending again because I love to blend. But. So two of the questions that I have

I don't actually use. So I don't use blush, I don't use highlighter.

I mean I'll probably use highlighter eventually, I just you know, haven't gotten

around to buy any highlighter. But both of those questions I really like

and I want to answer them, but since I am using a highlighter on my brow and

I'm gonna be using kind of a pinky color on my eye, I thought I'd answer the

questions now. So for the highlight, question is a book that brightens your

day. The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon. I mean, I love this book. It's my

favorite YA Contemporary I've ever read. I am going in with the color called Love

Letter, which is right there. This one is a cringe-worthy romance, but I'm actually

going to change this one to a romance that I really liked. I just recently read

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir and I was not expecting that

romance in there to be as good as it was. And it's it's cool because that book

kind of features a love triangle... it's like a love... it's like a feelings triangle

between the main guy and two girls. One of them is his best friend and

one of them is a girl that kind of just, arrives in his life. That's a very

very horrible basic way of describing An Ember in the Ashes, but with the romance,

I just really liked it. But I'm also someone who absolutely lives for sexual

tension and that book has like, the sexual tension between both Elias and

Helene and Elias and Laia. It's so good.

Couldn't decide who I liked better because I like all three of those characters

so so so much. Laia also has, kind of, another guy in her life as well. Keenan.

And I also really loved him. Also maybe it's because he's a redhead. And it was

so good. Now I'm blending because yeah, this needed some blending. Okay.

Technically the last thing I do on my eyes, put something on my lid because I

haven't put anything on my lid. I'm going to use the shimmer one up here at the

top, Vermeer. When I use shimmer ones, I always wet the brush because then

the intensity of the color comes out a lot more if the brush has already been wet. I'm going in...

That is done, but I need to go back over. Because that color

always kind of messes up my crease. I need to go back in with the top color I

was using, Love Letter, just to make sure everything looks

naturally blended out. And then I'm blending. The eyes are far from over.

Next one is eyeliner, a dark and mysterious book. You by Carolyn Kepnes.

The eyeliner that I use is Stila's long-lasting waterproof liquid eyeliner.

In intense black. This is the best liquid eyeliner I've ever used. I'm not

gonna be able to talk while I real quick do this. Oh, I'll get in closer because I

do do a winged eyeliner.

Okay so that's one side. 100% will not be able to recreate it on the other side.

That's as good as it's gonna get. Next one's mascara, and that is a long

book. I'm choosing a recent read of mine. And that is going to be Harry Potter and

the Order of the Phoenix. Right now I am using Lancome's Hypnose mascara. It's

alright. It's not my favorite of Lancome's. My favorite of Lancome is

actually Defincils. Like this one, I'll swear by. This one's really really good.

And I like to try new mascaras all the time, but I'm gonna use this one anyway.

This one's like okay. Like it's still like, makes my eyelashes look long and

thick. Harry Potter. Order the Phoenix. This is the first time

I've reread it since I was 11? Over the years since I read it, the Harry Potter

fandom always like, makes fun of this book. Being like I don't know, it's the

"angsty Harry book." People just like generally don't like it compared to some

of the other books in the series. So I went into this book rereading it being

like, okay so like what? Because I don't really remember a lot of like, the

feelings aspect. Like I know, obviously, I've seen the movie several times, but

that's like, kinda what I was thinking of like, awkward teenager

crushes when I went into this book. But when I re-read it like, that is not

what I got out of this book at all. What I got out of this book was Harry

going through PTSD of seeing Cedric get killed in front of

him. He was almost killed by Voldemort. So if he's gonna have some teenager moments?

Harry is like, 100% allow it to have those kind of moments. But this book is

my favorite in the series. I haven't finished the sixth one yet and

haven't read the seventh one ever. But I still don't think that's gonna change

because I connected with Harry so much in this book, the fifth book, when I

reread it. He's my favorite Harry in this book.

You know he's going through something very traumatic and then at the end of

this book the last person that he feels like, is part of his actual family is

taken away from as well. All his mood swings, all of his anger is totally

warranted. I get really defensive now about Order the Phoenix Harry because

that's my favorite Harry. I just feel so bad for him he's going through so much.

He's getting told that he's lying. He's getting told that Voldemort is

not back, even though he is. And no one believes him, and that's like the worst

feeling. He's up against so much in this fifth book.

I've always loved movie Harry. I mean, obviously. Who doesn't love movie Harry?

But the first four books of when I was rereading it, Harry really annoyed me.

I didn't really like him as a character, but this book completely changed it for

me. I love book Harry now. I'm looking way better now in the viewfinder. So that's

done. Now I feel like my eyes are definitely complete here. The last thing

that I have is my lipstick. I actually don't like lipstick, but I wear it

because I have to wear it. Because right now, I look incomplete, but now I'm gonna

find some lipstick and it's gonna be better.

The lipstick question is if you're favorite book kiss. Generally speaking, I like

ninety percent of the book kisses that I read, so it was kind of hard for me to

choose. So the one I decided on was the one that kind of like changed everything for

my favorite ship and that, of course, is gonna be Magnus and Cleo in Gathering

Darkness. The kiss that they had at the end of the book? Everybody who ships

Magnus and Cleo, that was the turning point of their relationship. They

couldn't deny their feelings anymore. All that sexual tension was heading

somewhere and it headed into the third book, right there. For the lipstick I'm

going to be using Cruisin by Tarte. I really like this color. I'm almost done

with it. I had mascara on my cheek, so I'm not

quite sure if that's gonna show up in the video. I actually don't know how this is gonna

look with this. Maybe I shouldn't use this one. If it doesn't look good, oh well.

I don't think this looks good with this look. I've gone to the past of no return,

Why Fans Cheer For Bad Teams - Duration: 6:24.

It's easy to understand why someone would choose the Patriots as their favorite sports team.

They've won five Super Bowls over the past 16 years.

Shoot, they've BEEN to 10 of them, more than any other team.

With Tom Brady, they probably have the greatest quarterback of all time.

It kind of hurt to say that.

The team has consistently been so good for so long, that it's a bit of a surprise to find out they don't have the largest fan base.

That would be the Dallas Cowboys, a team that has been to zero Super Bowls over the past 16 years.

You know who else has a lot of fans? The Chicago Cubs.

They have more Major League Baseball fans than all other teams except the New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, and Boston Red Sox, despite not winning a World Series for 108 years.

That's like over four generations- the Cubs did not win one championship, yet their fans remained loyal.

This 100 year old lady waited, well, you know, 100 years for this moment to happen.

I only had to wait 30 years for my Royals to win a championship, but I guess it felt like 100 due to years like 2004, 2005, and 2006, where they averaged 103 losses a season.

Yep, I went to Royals games those seasons. Tickets were cheap.

And then there's my Kansas City Chiefs.

I've been a fan for almost my entire life, and during my entire life, they haven't even made it to one Super Bowl.

They won their one and only Super Bowl back in 1970, 48 years ago.

What the heck? Why do fans like me, year after year, cheer for mediocre or just straight up bad teams?

First, it's important to understand why, at a certain point in someone's life, they decide to pick a sports team and decide to like them to begin with.

These reasons vary. Often this person is simply just heavily influenced by someone heavily influential to their lives.

Uncle Billy, who this person loves, loves Arsenal, so now this person loves Arsenal, too.

Or perhaps this person falls in love with a team because the team infatuates them through glory, like how I fell in love with the Kansas City Chiefs as they made playoff runs during the early 1990s.

Even mediocre teams are good some years.

Or perhaps this team is the hometown team.

The person grew up in Denver, and thus, inevitably, cannot escape being a Denver Nuggets fan.

Whatever the reason why the person first liked a team, at some point later on, this person may decide to go all in.

Stocking up on apparel. Commenting on their team's message boards on a daily basis. Buying season tickets. Tailgating before every game.

Regularly hanging out with people because they like the same team, even if they're a jerkface.

I'm hoping you notice a pattern here. After becoming a super fan, it gets communal fairly quickly.

About the time the person starts referring to their team as if they were on it

We won last night! No, no you did not win anything

they also develop a special bond with the community of fans just like them.

Season ticket holders of the seats next to this person become one of this person's best friends.

Humans desperately want to feel connected, to be part of a community, and being a sports fan is a great way to fulfill that.

Even as players change, it doesn't seem to matter. Super fans care much more about the uniform than the players.

But what about if this person's team rarely wins? Or really rarely wins.

In most cultures, people who win are praised and people who lose are forgotten.

But the truth is, we are all losers.

Only a lucky few can come out on top, and every sports team that competes except one loses their last game of the season.

including the Patriots this past year.

In our own lives, it's the constant disappointment that makes the occasional fortune so much more glorious.

What's fascinating is, the worse a team is, the more a superfan will remain loyal to them.

But it's true, this person's team is an extension of their identity.

Fans stick with bad teams because most become fans before they come of age.

Many watch a sports team for the first time with a loved one, and therefore associate the emotional bond with the loved one with the team.

Fans also stick with bad teams because those teams are a permanent fixture of their community.

By having a connection to the team, they have a connection to their city.

I know this is not the best comparison, but think of the bonds soldiers develop in horrible combat.

Those who experience pain together become closer.

Psychologists have concluded that shared pain has positive social consequences.

That's right, folks, so what I am saying is fans of bad teams show more cooperation and solidarity than fans of good teams.

And when those bad teams finally win it all, this is what can happen.

Here's 800,000 Royals fans swarming downtown Kansas City to celebrate their 2015 World Series win.

800,000 former losers, now winners.

Strangers high fiving and hugging each other. People who came from hundreds of miles away, who couldn't find a place to park so they just left their car on the highway.

Of the 800,000 in attendance, there had to be thousands of kids who just became Royals fans that very day, and will likely be Royals fans the rest of their lives, even if the Royals never make the playoffs again. They're stuck.

And if baseball, a simple game invented less than 200 years ago, can cause this much unity and this much jubilation I think we'd best keep it around, despite all the misery it usually brings.

The most basic way of defense is a parry.

Today we will cover the fourth parry,

because it's the easiest one to perform and not because it's the basic one.

Of course the best way to learn fencing is to find a coach,

but if you can't do this then this series should help you to find a way to start.

This exercise will allow you to train in paris

you can use the simple attack from the first episode

and remember to ALWAYS have your protection

like a fencing mask, jacket, gloves, condoms and guns.

This is all protection you need in your life.

Well, but I was serious about the jacket, gloves and the mask, so do it.

For the video purpose I do not wear my protectors,

but never try this at home and I'm dead serious about this

Farmyard Pest Control Tips with the Air Arms S510 Ultimate Sporter - Duration: 6:57.

Hello I'm Eddie Jones ambassador for Air Arms. today, we're out in Staffordshire

again we're on a farm today when a mixed-race species that we can shoot.

I've been controlling this for about 25 years.

We're gonna have a walk around see what pests we can control. The farmer doesn't

want everything eradicating. It will only take a few of what we see you've got to

be careful when shooting around a farm. We've got a mixture of livestock on it cattle,

horses, goats that is a working farm as other people work on here, rent buildings

out. So, we've got a keen safety in mind today. While we're about I'll show you

the different things to look out for. We've got rats, rabbits, doves, woodpigeons

jackdaws and we'll show you why we're controlling the pests on the farm.

Hopefully we'll be able to shoot a few pests today but if not the main

objective is this is just to give you an idea what to look out for on the farm

While you're having to walk around the farm just have walk around the edge of

the barn, sheds, anywhere like that. You'll see here we've got some racks working in

under the shed got some old silos here so any old wheat

that was still in them it's a perfect food source. I have shot quite a lot of

rats around here in the past, because the cattle are in the sheds there with all

the snow with that it's still not good enough to put them out the fields are

really wet and soft so I've still got to wait before I can start around these

sheds. But, it's perfect signs, just a bit further round and show you a bit of

activity again. Another good sign to look for while you're walking around the

sheds of droppings, got some fresh droppings here there was probably fun

this morning already got light. Rats are very nocturnal, so where you can't get

the odd ones in the daytime definitely come at night. Have a walk around with the

torch as well you'll find them, where you find the droppings the rat ain't gonna

be far away.

So, this is what the farmers feeding the cat with a bit of supplement there. But,

this is what the rats, the pigeons, jackdaws they're all after this. It is an

expensive game in the winter when you've got a keep them in. It's very hard to spot

a rat dropping in the middle of that and it's not the best thing for a cow to

eat and they do carry disease and it ain't just does it can get the disease

the cattle as well. So we don't want farmers having rat droppings in the feed.

So we've had a few jackdaws just landing the barn in front. Very tempting to take

a shot. We haven't got much of a backstop we've got the straw well then you're

getting led in the straw. We don't want that because the cattle are eating it.

The railings behind we could have shot one off there, but we don't know what's behind.

Anybody could walk past that barn just as we pull the trigger. We're not going

to take any shots in there simply because we could hit one of the cows.

Safety's paramount on the farm. Not just for people but for the animals as well.

So while we've been going around the farm we've had the lady across the road

who's got horse stables. she's asked me to clear some rabbits. But I'd like to see

the point of view from the stable owners, why we need to control rabbits. I've been

here for about four or five years, I love animals I can't bear them being killed

but it's got to the point that the rabbits of just making my life a misery.

They're digging up my field, my par. I've got a horse, she means a lot to me

and there are huge holes in the fields if we don't do something with the

rabbits then the horse will break a leg and it's important to me that are

calling they're professionals rather than someone that's going to

perhaps not kill an animal cleanly so that's important to me.

As you can see here we've got a quite an extensive rabbit warren it's a good time

to go out now while all the brushes down, walk around your ground just check out

big these warrens are getting. This had about 5 or 6 holes in last summer. I use to

shoot from just over their way from to come out and shoot them off the warren.

It's tripled in size it's not quadrupled but while it's down around check your

ground and you'll find exactly how bad the rabbit populations getting. I'm

certainly putting some close attention to this Warren this summer.

Because we're round the farm today I've chosen the Ultimate Sporter. I've had the Ultimate

Sporter two years now beautiful gun, very well balanced still fitted with the Hawke

Sidewinder 3x12 by 50. I really got to like this scope the half mil doc really

works for what we need with air rifle shooting. It's in .177 caliber it's

exactly deadly as any .22 out there. The good feature about the

Ultimate Sporter is definitely the cheek piece, if you move in any direction and

you'll be perfectly lined up in your scope. The side leaver is my favourite action of the

Air Arms range, you can't fault this side leaver, it's very smooth with no clicks or

noise to scare anything when you reload. The cycles are pellet perfect every time

it's like well-balanced and it's very accurate so this is a perfect rifle for

what we're doing today.

So, we've had a look round the farm, hopefully you've seen what kind of pest

species that we control, what sides I leave behind to give us the edge know

where they are and where we can set up to get them. You've got to be careful

around the farm, there is people working. Safety's

paramount. We haven't gone full round in full camo, we want to make sure they

can see us as well. We managed a couple of shots on some doves. I know the

farmer likes to see the odd pair around, so I'm not going to eradicate them. Jackdaws,

they've eluded us today, they've gone from one barn to another to another.

They've not give us safe shots I wouldn't shoot one where the cows are.

Next time I'll be positioned hopefully to get a shot and just take a few out

for them. We're gonna keep on top of the pest round here now, right through the summer.

Hopefully I'll be able to make the farmer happy and the next-door neighbour.

Prison Break star, DuShon Monique is dead

Prison Break star actress, DuShon Monique Brown, has died.

The 49-year-old died on Friday at St James Olympia Field Hospital, Chicago, US.

The cause of death is yet to be determined.

Her spokesperson, Robert Schroeder, said: We are devastated by the loss of a very talented and kindhearted soul.

DuShon was a film, television, commercial and voice-over actress who also graced the stages of many Chicago theatres.

She brought laughter and joy to many and will be greatly missed.

Prison Break fans will recognize her as Sara Scofield's friend Katie Welch, who she played for 13 episodes.

Dushon played her more recent role in Chiacgo Fire as Connie, Chief Boden's assistant.
