Art and artistic sense

Exposure to various musical experiences from

the early ages contributes to the development of the rhythmic sense and the understanding of music

In contact with art, the child will learn to be receptive to beauty, to observe it better

and to discover the bright side of reality.

Gradually, he will form his aesthetic sense and later on he will be able to refine his tastes.

Thank you for watching, we hope we were able to show a part of the creative and innovative process

behind Teko Kindergarten curriculum.

Weather News Today with J7409 Wed March 28,2018 - Duration: 16:17.

Good day everyone time now for weather news today with j7409 the name you

know the news you can use and what we're looking at right here on this morning of

Wednesday the 28th of March 2018 you guys have probably seen this picture

floating around the internet this strange looking cloud was seen in many

states I think it was a total of three like California Arizona and if I'm not

mistaken I believe New Mexico I could be wrong on New Mexico but I believe it

wasn't in Mexico also so when I saw this picture you know everybody's got their

own opinions and everybody's wondering well what in the world made this right

well I did a little research and in Arizona at CBS 5 and Phoenix well they

are saying they know what it is now some of the stations out in California they

had no comment they weren't quite sure what it was maybe they do today as of

yesterday they didn't have comments but CBS 5 and Phoenix says this cloud might

look out of this world but it has a real-world explanation to it and this is

what they're saying there they're saying it's a noctilucent cloud people okay and

they're saying that it's formed because of ice crystals well if it's a NACA

Lucent cloud they're forgetting something they left something out that

forms noctilucent clouds okay most of the time anyway noctilucent clouds are a

deep deep blue

think back excuse me if you've ever done any

research you all know this but one of the main points they left out if it's a

noctilucent cloud the ice crystals that form from noctilucent clouds they form

from dust particles from meteors its form there's a big where you've had a

this would have been a big I should say as big as this cloud is a big swath of

meteors have left dust in the air in the area and that's what the ice crystals

form on well they left that part out I thought it was very interesting we'll

have to see what happens with this but I thought it was very cool and wanted to

share it with you and if you have any kind of weather pictures or strange sky

phenomena pictures and you'd like to share them with us here please click

show more below the videos scroll down and you'll find an email address to send

them to and I will use them as my cover thumbnails thanks so much for that and

if it's your first time over and you enjoy keeping up with the weather you

like to know what's going on around you please hover over the j7 4:09 at the

bottom right hand corner it will kind of pop up click it subscribe click the bell

and you'll get all the latest and weather news information forecasts

alerts you name it now as we come over to the watches of

warnings map from the National Weather Service the bright and early this

morning we can see this big stretch of heavy

rain yes indeed all of this is flash flood watches and warnings and the red

here in Texas around Austin and San Antonio all of this is warnings warnings

warnings warnings flash flood warnings the green the dark green is a flash

flood watch and the lighter green in these areas here like up in western

Tennessee eastern Arkansas and northern Mississippi and the Memphis area

the lighter greens that you see are flood warnings so that's the biggest

deal with the watches and warnings going on early this morning I like to start

off with the NAMM model because it's pretty accurate folks and it gives you

the forecast of what should be coming it doesn't run long it doesn't have a lot

in it we're going to turn it on right quick this starts around 9:00 a.m. this

morning and we will turn it on a let it roll in you can see those thunderstorms

all the way going through and it does look like some heavy ones over in the

western Tennessee area as they move up into Kentucky and of course they are all

the way down in Texas moving across Louisiana and parts of Mississippi up in

here up and Canada you do have of us some snow falling along with some

freezing rain and out west this snow is you're not going to get big snow outs as

you can tell okay just a little sprinkles here and there coming down

compared to what you have had all right now we're up to 1:00 a.m. tomorrow

morning very heavy rain looking like in Louisiana and Mississippi and still in

parts of Tennessee and Kentucky Texas around Houston you guys got heavy rain

thunderstorm activity probably going on as it marches on across

and once again this man area covers where this dark gray is outlined for the

forecast we're up to 11 a.m. Thursday the 29th you can see how it's moving

across I did a video last night on tang gone one my best window to see it is

Friday and Friday it looks like I'm kind of have the rain in my house so I

probably won't get a chance to see it but or check to see if I can see it but

I'll I'll still look and see what's going on maybe the rain and give me a

break at that time now moving on up in the areas here in Ohio

looking like mostly rain I think you guys might have a little chance of snow

in the northern northeastern section yeah here it comes

I wouldn't worry about it I think it's going to be mixed with rain for the most

part and I'm thinking hopefully your temperatures are gonna stay above

freezing maybe around 40 41 I could be wrong but I think the snow you do

receive up in this area right in here for Northeastern Ohio we'll probably if

you get a half an inch that will be good now I could be wrong that's just what

I'm thinking now and of course it stopped now it only goes so far to 8:00

a.m. on Friday and that's leaving some of this snow here in eastern New York

I mean western New York excuse me western New York you guys probably won't

receive that much either now as we take a look at the watches and warnings this

is the latest one that has just come in at 451 central Daylight Time today for

Austin and the San Antonio Texas area tornado warning so that means one has

been spotted on the ground somewhere we're gonna check it out you guys in

Tulsa Oklahoma I had one yesterday everything else is flash flood warnings

and severe thunderstorm warnings but let's go check out this tornado warning

okay this they come in at 451 a.m. central Daylight Time

just came in a couple hours ago it's just showed up on the internet

anyway and this is for South Eastern Caldwell County in south-central Texas

at last until 5:15 well that's past that now but let's just see where it was

severe thunderstorm capable of capable of producing a tornado was located near

Luling moving northeast at 30 miles per hour the radar indicated rotation it was

a tornado they were telling everyone you know flying debris mobile homes you

needed to get your safe place the location impacted areas included

Brownsboro McMahon and deli Tillman McNeil and Taylorsville and they were

just telling everybody to be safe you know so that's what's going on it should

be over now I will check and see if there's any more information on this but

this is all we have now and it should be out of date now I'll check and see in

just a few moments okay I'm back over to a different site

now for the National Weather Service this block is still the tornado warning

it's moved up from the San Antonio area over in the air wherever you see that

and if you tell it makes that hook I don't know if you can see it or not I

can't make this any bigger there's a hook I always talk about if you see

these clouds have hooks to them those cells get in there that's where the

rotation starts so you folks up in this area of Texas right in here

Austin's to the north San Antonio's over here this is around interstate 10 just

north of Interstate 10 up in this area this tornado is still in progress okay

it may be up in the air I don't know if it's up in the air or on the ground but

in this area here it's still going on right now at 6:16 a.m. and it will

probably go for a while so please folks be careful now over on the gfs map

courtesy of Tropical tip bibs before I even turn it on you see right in here

from around 3664 north 97 west right in this area you can see the severe area

you can see where the tornado warning is and folks this is going to continue from

Texas right on up through Tennessee today all of you guys have a chance of

severe thunderstorms and these thunderstorms could produce tornadoes so

please be aware of what's going on around you okay so we'll turn it on well

let it run we'll check out exactly what is going on everywhere right now now

this heavy rain of course it's possible for parts of the western Gulf Coast and

they're going to spread all the way to the Ohio Valley now a front extending

from the southern plains to the lower Great Lakes will be quasi stationary as

I've said in previous forecasters kind of like hang around state kind of in the

same area move just a little and it's going to be doing this through tomorrow

night then a secondary front will reinforce the eastern boundary tomorrow

now showers and thunderstorms is going to be developing over parts of the

southern plains into the lower Mississippi Valley through tomorrow

morning now tomorrow the showers and

thunderstorms will move into parts of South East by tomorrow night and in

addition all that the moisture is going to be pooling along the front aiding the

development of rain along the front from the Tennessee Valley northeast word into

Northeast with the rain moving off the northeast coast by later tomorrow and

Friday with the rain moving to the northeast coast later tomorrow and

Friday okay now also on Wednesday afternoon rain will begin to move into

the northern Mid Atlantic and the rain continues along the boundary from parts

of the Tennessee Valley northeastward and

the northern mid-atlantic okay and like I said it should be moving off tomorrow

and Friday now the upper-level energy over the

southern high plains will move north eastward to the Ohio Valley by tomorrow

evening and that energy will aid in pulling the rain into the middle

Mississippi Valley and by tonight then it's going to expand into the Great

Lakes by Thursday morning and into the Northeast by Thursday night meanwhile we

got another front over the northern plains and it's going to be moving

southeast word to the middle Mississippi Valley in southern plains and eastward

to the Upper Great Lakes by early tomorrow morning now the western and

central portion of this boundary will begin to dissipate tomorrow as the

boundary reinforces the lead boundary over the eastern third of the country

the front will aid in producing snow and rain like I was talking about earlier

over parts of the Northern Plains upper mississippi valley and snow over parts

of the northern rockies by this morning now the rain and snow will move into the

Upper Great Lakes by tonight and it should dissipate sometimes more by

tomorrow at some point whether it be morning afternoon or evening right now

it's up in the air the snow will move to the central Rockies by tonight and

likewise it should dissipate by tomorrow morning now a third front yes we have a

third front will move southward out of west central Canada Thursday tomorrow

over the Northern Plains and the front will aid in producing scattered snow

over parts of the northern high plains tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow night

additionally onshore flow on shore floor flow excuse me and an upper-level energy

they will aid in producing coastal rain and higher elevation snow over parts of

Washington State by tomorrow so that's the way it's looking for

we got you from Texas all the way up through Tennessee parts of Kentucky all

the way up you've got to be aware you may have some flash flooding you may

have some longer duration flooding you may not have any flooding but it's

looking like you probably will and wherever one of these severe storms

outbreaks occur don't forget you have a chance of a tornado popping up it is

spring it is that time of the year so everybody be safe Texas Oklahoma

Louisiana Mississippi Alabama everybody you've seen the map that's gonna wrap it

up for today if I see anything out of the ordinary I'll be sure and put it up

for you thanks so much for watching for sharing liking commenting I love you

guys so much I love chitchat with you when I have the chance to I may not

always answer your comments but I always read them and when I have the time I try

to answer as many as I can everybody stays safe much peace loving kindness to

each of you have yourself a wonderful blessed day

My Top 20 Ways I Stay Positive in Times Stress - Coping with Long Term Stress - Duration: 8:44.

Yeah welcome back to my channel

Wanted to get on here today and talk about how to stay positive during times of extended stress?

Got about 20 things that I do to climb out of an emotional hole

And I just wrote those down thought we talk about them today? Hope they help somebody

number one keep going

I think it's called behavioral

Therapy when all you want to do is lay on the couch or your bed mines the bed

And I just want to wallow in it. I can't move you just get up and you do a little laundry

What would I be doing if I felt fine? What needs to get done today make yourself a list sometimes

I have to make a list

Because everything feels hard and load of laundry feels like climbing a mountain so do a little laundry

Pay my bills pick up a room

Dust something just anything to get yourself in motion and just take it one baby step at a time

Second a gratitude list just write down ten things you're grateful for

Pretty self-explanatory, you know it kind of makes you focus on what you do have if someone else is stressing me out

I try to focus on my world without them in it you just kind of take them out of your

Equation if that makes sense if I wasn't worried about this person I would be thinking about what?

You know if I wasn't worried about you. It's kinda like you quit. Don't let my world revolve around them

I have other parts of my life that aren't stressful focus on those. Maybe it's another child. Maybe it's a friend

You know anywhere besides that person or things number four walk outside and breathe in fresh air

When I used to smoke I figured out years later

Half of that besides the physical addiction in the relief you get from that was just stepping outside

I liked being outside and I never make myself go outside sometimes when I go get the mail. I just am like

It's refreshing. You know just to smell the outside just walk outside. Even if it's just on your porch or your patio

Just go outside and get the mail walk around the block. You know not a fast paced walk. You know just to get outside

Just kind of clear your mind just getting outside

There's something magical about it

So just step outside number-5 it change your surroundings

Go to the post office right around the block go to starbucks go get a drink at Sonic

It just kind of gives you a fresh perspective so when you come back to your problem still gonna be there

But you'll be different number six light candle spray perfume

That lifts your mood

Lights some essential oils, but it can just be a candle this morning

I thought of this one because I sprayed my Paris on it's been as several favorites

Reminds me of my little subscriber friend that sent it to me Heather

It just makes me happy that just gives you a little lift because you left the scent of it number seven

Focus on a task this will take your mind from where it was to what's at hand paying bills

balancing your checkbook

I plan videos when I'm stressed it gets me out of my hyper focus when I'm hyper focused on I can't get out of it

And my mind is just spinning it takes you from the emotional to the unemotional number eight read

It's an escape

Reading is an escape I can also say watch a movie, but nothing takes my mind like reading

You know what else can I say reading is an escape number nine if you're also tired

Sleep lay down and just go to sleep a lot of times when we wake up our perspective is just better when we're not tired

number ten listen to music listen to upbeat music while you do housework

Your tasks or watch a comedy watch something. That's uplifting or comedians number twelve buy yourself a little something

There's a reason there's a saying retail therapy doesn't have to be expensive it can be a starbucks

It can be a lip gloss today had two butter glosses come in. I'm coming off some high stress y'all

That's why I'm doing this video had a couple of butter

Glosses came in today these probably cost me ten dollars for both of them. I can't tell you how these just perked me right up

I was so excited to get that get some lip gloss get a highlighter

You know make yourself shiny. It just kind of lifts the mood okay next play in your makeup

There's something to that making yourself look your best makes you feel at least better

Maybe not your best on a real high stress day, but it does make you feel better

I put my makeup on for sure but sometimes. I just sit here playing my makeup. It just makes me feel better

It's mindless and when I look better I feel better also with that coloring your hair you'll notice

I have fresh hair and makeup today helped it helped me so much to play in my makeup a little bit color my hair

Makes me feel like I can handle my life better

This is a big one and my dad told me a long time ago

The best way to be depressed is to live in your head is to think about yourself and it's so true when I really get

In my head the best thing I can do is go who needs me today

Is there somebody in my life that needs something for me today?

and reach out to them try to help someone else that will bring you out of your own head not to commiserate with

That is a danger you know not to commiserate with not to get down there with them, but to help them

What can I do for you? Do you need dinner?

Do you need support bring you out of your own problems and focus on other people next talk to your cheerleader?

And if you don't have one get one. I have a lot of cheerleaders here y'all watching this video right now

I've never had so many cheerleaders in my life and let me tell you something it makes a difference but find

Find a cheerleader in your life that will help bring you up

pick that person wisely

Because there are some people that are naturally

Geared toward the negative

They're gonna see more the negative that is just a fact don't call on them when you're down

Because they want to get down there with you and feel sorry with you

But they won't necessarily lift you up to a more positive place, so just pick someone that's gonna lift you up

A cheerleader - everybody needs one number 17 housework. I cannot tell y'all how fast that clears my head

I don't know if it's that's if it's that way for everybody if my head is foggy, and I have spider webs

I'm not talking about mental fog

I'm bogged down with the stress vacuum dust and laundry just that in itself I could go to town on my house

I usually end up cleaning out a refrigerator spring cleaning a closet. There's something to that

just that busy and

Organizing if the outside is organized the insides gonna be more organized Journal

I have always journaled, and if you will just journal there's something called

I'm not sure what it's called, but it's where you write

Do not let your self quit if you can't think of something to write write

I can't think of what to write until you're writing again and make yourself write two to three pages. I swear. It's like meditation you will

Work through stuff like that it is like writing

Meditation it's amazing sometimes stuff would come out that I didn't even know was there. Just take a shower

There is something healing about water, when I'm feeling actually physically ill I can take a shower. I almost feel well when I get out

Also, if I've had a real hard day after I get out of a shower. I'm like

Why didn't I do that sooner? Just come out you're clean go somewhere that makes you happy my happy places are

Bookstores Barnes and Noble l I could hang out there for hours Barnes and Noble I'd go in there. I peruse the books

I smell the books this bring me peace because I used to hang in libraries

when I was a child I'll sit there and I'll read not really self-help. I just look at the fiction and

Just makes me happy, book stores are my happy place

Parks are not my happy place, but they may be yours, you know get you outside parks

Libraries. I love a library I love quiet places a movie. You know go to the movie it gets you out

You're escaping into a movie any place that makes you happy and then the last one. I saved this for last

it's really the most important but if you're not a spiritual person you can click off now and

Read scripture nothing brings peace faster than reading scripture sometimes. I just open my Bible and where am I reading ?

It's speaking to me any place in the Bible will immediately bring me peace or turn on a Joyce Meyer

is my favorite but you know a show about you know that will kind of help ground you and bring you back to the

Spiritual and then praying sometimes if I'm so stressed out. I don't even know how to pray about it

I'm like I don't I don't even know what needs to happen so you take it leave it there

That helps me so much puts me in a better frame of mind so anyway

Those are the things that bring me back to a positive place, so I really hope this helps somebody

That's going through a hard time

We're all going through stress at some point in our lives, so if you're not going through stress right now remember it later

It'll be here for ya

I hope you enjoyed this video if you did please like and subscribe leave comments and questions down below

And I'll talk to y'all soon. Y'all have a good day

FFXIV Leatherworker Quest Level 60 (Patch 4.0) - Duration: 8:57.

and we're back for another episode in this episode we're going to be doing the

level six sea level worker quest introduced in storm blood and as always

hello from every so you have to come back to the original guilt in order to

do the new level 60 questions you may have done everything previously so let's

do it now so I got some bad at me look so the question is called a taxing

request well we'll get some commercial engineering manuals my bad that'll help

us a little bit so I had 250 crystals as well

not bad so Gil Master giver surprised yet glad for your unexpected visit so

well if isn't my favorite level worker I was certain you'd be too busy selling to

lords and ladies and it's guard to have a convict but you've come at a good time

I have need of a woman with your talents we recently received a rather unusual

request for a level worker I wouldn't dare entrust it to the others

and I'm much too busy if you've tried to come and visit then I'm sure you can fit

this into your schedule head down to the shaded bowler and have a talk with art

alone tell her I sent you as you'll explain everything cool so let's do that

now we're ladies now originally to be

perfectly honest this girl was mean you know they like she was one of those

tough love sort of guild masters you know so when he's buying the quest as a

level worker is just horrible she doesn't really encourage you she

just expects you to fail and you can see here I'm still promising on nicely gang

they're nearly all level 61 already so what I was worried about is by basically

being so far ahead that I don't have a million quest to do so let me just get

them done so if we metaphor level workers guild oh yes give us told me

about you a darling protege who gained some small bit of fame for services

rendered here in gridania inish god so well your honors and accolades mean

naught to EOG as premier naturalist at a loon henceforth I and I alone shall be

the judge of your work you should be happy proud even to assist

me with my noble work there's not often one has the opportunity to serve as my

lady and well my duty dutiful apprentice okay

I'm assuming is this like the level 70 level work again I'll be interesting so

daunted by my celebrity I see worry not under my careful guidance your skills

will be put to good use this I can assure you until now I have

been collaborating with my first assistant marcet to write articles for

the New Jersey idea graphic though I would love to continue with my writing a

duty of much greater importance as drawing my attention in my research of

the calamity effects on the environment it has come clear that the abnormal rate

at which the realm is changing far after its the pace of animal adaption indeed

sorry one second indeed I fear certain species now face extinction and what

manner of naturalist would I be if I did not do all in my power to save them alas

time is not on our side which is why in the event I am NOT able to save these

humble creatures I would preserve them through taxi der

me that future generations may still gaze upon their splendor that is why I

conferred with guild master giver and why you now stand before me if you

believe itself capable of the task at hand I shall make you my seventy second

assistant what say you okay so hmm confidence good in time I

will know if there is any talent to match in any case your contributions

will not go unrecognized you shall be duly credited in my next publication of

new your Z and geographic as

etc low so now your first task shall be a simple one speak with the research

assistant 71 they own at the car line canopy well what are you waiting for

okay so imma she's gonna be like the new pain in the asses that she let's just

teleport save ourselves a few seconds of running maybe she doesn't realize how

famous I am when it comes to crafting I'm probably one of the very few people

in the game at this point who is actually doing this quest and all the

other craft the quest is actually my goal to be 70 everything in song blood

literally 70 everything and when you hit 70 of each rank so war magic handle and

you become god or goddess as long as you miss we will be goddess so it is my

intention to be goddess of everything here's Jordan and is worth doing all the

classic West because they are really really interesting even for crafters and

gatherers oh I you the level worker miss at saloon

core I mean hired to help with the mounting

dollars who were being scammed let's be honest you volunteered I mean working

under her is an unpleasant mind you it's just well Who am I kidding she calls us

assistants but I know the truth we're just a bunch of servants to her

my name is beyond by the way number 71 the taxidermist

she calls me to be honest it's just a hobby but she won't listen she never

listens it's sad when animals die you know but when I mount them it's like

they never really left so I practice every chance I get to make

the best mounts I can't I'm no good at preparing skins though they're always so

unsightly and mish shapen when I finished working with an honest-to-god

level worker like yourself how about they look so real folks will swear

they're still breathing yep

so I should probably be heading back or else I'll upset Miss Italian again

anyway it was nice meeting you

epic okay so I've a feeling we're gonna have to make a lever at some point so

let's go back to where we were before I guess I'll have to just one at this time

so as I say it's worth doing all of these quests all of them because they

are interesting is I've never seen a game where crafting and gathering has

got class job quests with story so which is really good usually crafting and

gathering in games is just an additional skill that you want Locke and just do

whatever you like but these have story so these are worth leveling just like

the other ones to make money to repay your on gear and so on okay let's talk

to her so there you are honestly did you get lost on the way back here my time is

quite precious you know so I suppose it is important for peers to establish

amicable relations I forgive you this time I'm tempted almost to make a voice

for now that we have dealt with formalities our team is assembled the

fledgling young taxidermist who knows nor of level working and the level

workers who likewise knows nor of taxidermy two halves that shall make a

lovely hole under my sage guidance the two of you shall make displays unlike

anything the realm has ever seen I think so yes lifelike displays that will

preserve the beauty of the realms blessed creatures now and forevermore

but future generations will look upon your mountain and mV the age when these

animals proudly walk the earth but first I must repair collecting animals for

mounting finding an ideal venue there is much to be done I thought you will make

good use of this time to hone your skills

yep

so the next level worker price will be available from at Elune upon reaching

level 63 the requirements would undertaking subsequent quests can be

reviewed in your journal fair enough so as we said level 63 so anyway guys

that's it for this episode thank you for watching and as always good bye from me

and good bye from me free bye guys

Clues to Life on Mars Could Be Found in the Driest Place on Earth - Duration: 5:30.

I have been to the Atacama Desert six times already.

We are far from anywhere.

There's no bathroom, there is nothing.

You don't wash for five days.

Comparing what we do to a human mission on Mars, what we do is very easy.

The Atacama Desert in Chile is one of the driest and most surreal places on Earth, and

it is so unique that it may even hold answers to questions about where we might find life

elsewhere in the universe.

The Atacama Desert is very similar to some of the conditions we can find on Mars in terms

of salt chemistry, in particular.

Exposure to UV is much, much higher on Mars than the Atacama Desert.

But this is as close as we can get.

It's here that Dr. Jocelyne DiRuggiero studies extremophiles, which are microorganisms that

live in extreme environments.

In this instance, she's studying photosynthesizing extremophiles that live inside of rocks, a

place that you wouldn't expect light to be able to penetrate.

We are interested in cyanobacteria, and they are found everywhere on Earth.

They are primary producers, very much like plants, so they use energy from the sun, carbon

dioxide, and water, and then they make organic carbon, which is then used by other microorganisms.

They live inside rocks because they're protected from high solar radiation, desiccation, but

it's also a place where water is retained better than in the soil.

We're trying to find out how do they not only survive, but thrive how do they grow, and

how do they evolve in those crazy conditions?

Jocelyne and her team used geological hammers while collecting and opening rocks in the

desert, as well as several other tools to measure weather, temperature, and humidity.

They also used a drill, spectrophotometer, and fiber-optic sensor that measures the intensity

and color of any light penetrating the rock.

We pretended we were those little microorganisms inside the rocks and what do we see?

What do we feel when we're out there in this rock?

We had done experiments in the lab on other types of rocks and we could see that the deeper

in the rock, the less light we had.

It looks like the light they see is a little redder than the light that is outside the

rock, and so this brings the questions, "What are the adaptations to the photo systems that

allow them to capitalize on this red light?"

It was from the bed of a pickup truck in the howling winds that the scientists had to pull

off these complicated experiments.

But it paid off with some striking results.

The light experiments were quite surprising.

With the halite, which are sodium chloride rocks basically, there is a lot of light,

even underneath the rock.

This has to do with the composition of the salt rock and also the fact that the light

is reflected on the ground bouncing o back.

So those microbial communities that are at different spots inside the rocks will see

different type of lights, and we didn't know that before.

The quality of the light that reaches the cyanobacteria could indicate how these organisms

are photosynthesizing from the inside of a rock, compared to other primary producers,

like plants.

In order to figure out this process, Jocelyne and the team want to take a closer look at

the organism's genome, to see if there are any genetic mutations that allow them to live

in these extreme environments.

Once we get the sequence back, it's the computational analysis to try to figure out who is there

and what they're doing and how this is correlated with the environmental conditions we measured

in the field.

But sequencing the genome of these microorganisms is going to take a while.

Once these experiments are complete, Jocelyne and her team hope their data will be useful

to other research missions, like studying how life can adapt to climate change, or thrive

on another planet.

If you know anything about microorganisms, they're really essential for all the geochemical

cycles on the planet.

Those are the organisms that provide the oxygen we breathe, they recycle the carbon in the

environment, and we need to understand that, if we want to think in terms of how can we

recover...lands from desertification which is increasing around the planet as the result

of human use, but also climate change.

Sometimes it's challenging.

But at the same time, it's very rewarding.

After you work really hard and you're really tired, you sit around the campfire, we drink

a little scotch, brainstorm with ideas.

The skies at night in the Atacama are amazing.

You can see the whole Milky Way.

It's just totally mind-blowing.

This is really the time where you can get new insight about what we do, and we also

talk about why we're doing this, why are we scientists, what is our passion and this is

it.

Dyslexic Reading Made Easy @Barrington Stoke - Duration: 6:57.

Hi guys, I'm Shelly. Welcome back to the channel.

Today I want to talk to you about dyslexia, and more importantly. Reading with dyslexia.

And an amazing company. that have made it, so much freaking easier.

So a bit of backstory, I am dyslexic. I have been, probably since I was born.

It is the way my brain works, that is, I see letters and I see words, sometimes I get them jumbled.

Reading is rather difficult because, I'll get lines jumbled up, and words will move. Everything's just blurry.

So while reading, I always have to concentrate on the physicality of seeing the words, and taking them in.

Rather than just being absorbed into a book. This is one of the reasons why I listen to a lot of audiobooks.

Because physically reading, I miss a lot of the things that are happening in said book.

Regardless, I love my books, and I just dealt with it.

Then, I got this for my birthday. Which is 'Second Best Friend' by Non Pratt.

It is published or it is physically made by Barrington Stoke.

Like its counterpart, Unboxed again by Non Pratt.

I found both of them very easy, and very enjoyable to read.

I found I sped read them, or what I thought was speed reading.

But it turns out, in the back of both of these books. There is explanation as to why I could read it so well.

And that is, that they are made for dyslexic readers.

Now, How do you make a book for dyslexic readers? you may ask...

Well, I'm gonna read you the back of the book, because they describe what is different about this text, a lot better than I do.

'This book is designed to help more people love reading. You may notice the book is printed on heavy paper, in two colors.'

'Black for the text, and pale yellow, Panatone, for the page background. This reduces the contrast between text and the paper.'

'And hides the ghost of the words printed on the other side of the page.'

'For readers who perceive blur or movement as they read, this may help keep the text still, and clear.'

'The book also uses a unique typeface, that is dyslexic friendly.'

I just read that all the way through, without having to stop once. That's never happened before when I'm reading out loud.

It just makes it so easier. Normally any paperback, the one I'm currently reading at the moment, this one here.

It's floppy, the pages are white, with black writing. The margins are pretty small,

So you've got a little bit of room there, and a little bit of room there, not a lot. Its spaced quite close together.

But with Barington Stoke, they have changed it up.

So first things first, the paper stock that it is written on, it's much, much thicker.

So it doesn't shift about, it doesn't accidentally move in the wind.

It's practically on, thick cardstock. So what you would make the front and the back of these books out of.

It's kind of what the paper is made out of inside these books.

Now whereas in a normal paperback, obviously the paper is white or slightly yellow tinged, but mainly white.

This is definitely a yellowy, orangey tone, underneath the type.

It's black text, with a yellow penatone, for the page background.

Which makes the text a lot easier to read, instead of it being black on a sharp white, and smaller text.

This is on a yellowy page, which means that the words don't move so much.

If you have a sharp black line, against white. If you're dyslexic, the brain will fungal it up a bit.

It's too sharp, it's too, dramatic, for you. The edges of the letters, and the edges of the words, will fuzz.

While your brain, is trying to work out what you're reading.

They will distort, they will move, they will.....

It's really weird, I don't know how to describe it. But words move when you're reading,

But on this they don't so much. Because it's a softer background. It's like reading on your iPad,

when you have it on night mode. Everything is just softer, and calmer and so it hurts the back of your eyes less.

Also the text is much bigger, and more rounded. It's a very, very round font.

So instead of having sharp lines underneath each line, it's round and smooth. So it tends not to blur so much.

The writing is basically a panel, down the middle. This helps because, when reading and dyslexic.

You read, obviously like that. But you sometimes can see the text over here, or you can sometimes see behind the book.

That will just make your eyes wander off, and go sideways, and you will no longer be able to concentrate on the the writing.

So the closer it is to the end of the page, the more confused you get.

Whereas with this strip panel down the middle. You tend to have the yellowness of the page, constantly, either side of your words, no matter where you are.

Also, you're not backwards and forwardsing so much.

You read across, and sometimes. if you like me. You read back that way, because you are scared of losing your place.

You're always losing your place, because you get confused, and your eyes jump and everything just blurs.

I often miss out words, sentences, whole lines, even whole paragraphs.

Because my eyes just jump, because they unfocus, a hell of a lot.

This is made to basically, keep your eyes focused.

Now as I said, I push through and I read normal books and that's fine.

But I don't enjoy them as much, because I'm losing half of the story, well my eyes are trying to correct what I'm reading.

You miss half of the atmosphere, you miss half of the story.

You can't really submerge yourself in the book, because you're too busy trying to actually physically read it.

Where this, I don't want to say it's the reason why I love Non Pratt's books so much.

Because I liked her other ones, before she switched to this kind of text.

I've always enjoyed her writing, but I can enjoy it so much more.

I can enjoy the story, so much more. Because I can actually read it, and take it on board.

Without having my eyes hurt, without un-focusing. Without my brain wandering off somewhere.

Because it's seen something down the side of a page. Because the text is too far to the edge.

This makes such a massive difference, I don't know how to describe the difference it has made.

So this is a personal thank you!

This is a personal thank you to Non Pratt, and to Barington Stoke, for making these books.

I will now be going on to the Barington Stoke website, I'm guessing they have one.

And seeing what other authors they represent, and seeing if we can get more books like this.

Because I can read, I mean I've always been able to read.

But I can properly read, and I'm astonished. I didn't know what the difference was,

Until I picked up one of these books. So thank you Non, for finding these people and having your books made by them .

Thank You Baringting Stoke, for making them.

If you are dyslexic, if you know somebody who is dyslexic, and has trouble reading, but loves books.

One, Audiobooks are fabulous, don't underestimate the power of an audiobook.

Two, go on to Barrington Stoke and see if you can get a couple of books. See if there is a difference.

I will leave links to them down below, and also to Non Pratt.

It's truly made me happy!

Hope you guys are good, and I will see you very soon.

Byeeeeeee

Secret of Mana Q&A #8 - Which remake scenes are you most proud of? - Duration: 0:56.

Are there any scenes in the remake which you're particularly proud of?

At the very end of the game, there's a scene where a song plays called 'One of Them is Hope.'

This time around, we had it arranged by Mr. Koshiro, who's famous for his work on a number of other video games.

His arrangement - and the final interactions between Randi and co with their full voiceovers -

come together in a way that I found really moving. It's my favourite scene.

For those of you that are already familiar with that scene, enjoy!

And for those of you who don't, you can look forward to finding out what it's all about.

How to Play Simple Setup Games Using Eye Gaze Technology - Duration: 5:47.

Here at SpecialEffect we're always looking for new games that we can do

with our eye gaze users and we appreciate that some games are quite fast, a lot of

camera movements, a lot of clicking and it can just seem quite daunting. So what

we'll do today is look at some puzzle games using a Tobii and a myGaze camera

and they might be slightly addictive I'll warn you but there's no special software.

It's just the one that comes with your camera. So that's what we'll be looking

at today.

So all I have here is a surface tablet and it has the Tobii mounting bracket for

the camera which is on the front and I have calibrated myself

we won't be running through that today because you'll have your own settings

and we'll just be getting straight into the games. So I've done my calibration

I'm now in Windows control using the gaze interaction software that comes

with the Tobii and this will create a pop-up window I've positioned mine in

the top of the screen. And this is where all my click selections are hiding. So

all I've done is I have set my blink as my click. I personally find that easier

it's whatever personal preference you have and I also for Bejeweled have zoom

click on. I've just activated the double click to launch the game and I've taken

it out of full screen mode because if you have it on full screen it won't

register your eye gaze and so we just need to take it into windowed mode and

we can get started. So the aim of the game is to match three or more colors in

a row and this will cause them to explode. So it's just a case of clicking

on two of the shapes to swap them and then they will disappear and give you

points. Using the zoom to click function, the

first blink will magnify the area of the screen you're looking at and the second

blink will actually be your click. So with the game like Bejeweled with lots

of little targets it's sometimes helpful to have that zoom option. So I now have a

"Very PC" in front of me with a myGaze camera and I'm using "myGaze Eye Mouse

Play" which is the software that comes with the camera and I will be showing you

today Peggle. And all I'm going to do for this is, once my calibration is done, I

will check that my dwell settings are all in order for my click and then you

just need to make sure that Peggle is not in full-screen mode otherwise this

will mean that the eye gaze won't be picked up and you won't be able to play

properly. So just take out of full screen, which is within the game menu option and

then we can start. The aim of Peggle is to fire a cannonball at a whole bunch of

balls on your screen and this will select them and give you points with

every ball that you hit. So the nice thing about Peggle is it can be quite

fast but you can take it at your own pace and you only have to do one click

to launch your ball and that's it. So I've set this to dwell and I've got

my own animation showing of the loading pie and that's showing me my feedback

for my dwell. So for me I personally prefer to pause the eye gaze in between

my shooting of the Cannonball, just to give my eyes a bit of a rest, but this is

your own personal preference. So I'm just going to do one click

and then my balls fired and that's all you need to do. So this is called "Jar of

Marbles." Again it's a nice simple point-and-click game. I will be

continuing with the myGaze camera and my left click and I've just made sure

that I have turned it out of full screen mode. To do this you go into more and

then there's a drop-down menu called "Resolution" and so you click in there

exit full-screen and that's all you need to do. So today I'm going to make it easy

on myself and go into a beginner difficulty and I've got my left click

activated. That's all done and it is what it says on the tin basically. We have a

jar of marbles and we want to connect them via groups of three in different

color codes. This will cause them to explode and clear your jar. So I am just

doing dwell to click and I'm just looking at the part of the jar I want to

drop my marble, and then dwell, and that's what you need to do.

Thank you for joining us for this video on I Eye Gaze gaming. I hope it's been

useful and we look forward to seeing how you guys get on.

Currently Reading + Party Time!! - Duration: 14:37.

J: Hi everyone! C: Hello! J: Today we celebrate my birthday. C: The day of Jessica's birth

anniversary. J: But first we're going to talk about my, um our current reads. C: Yeah

J: Just, like, to talk about some bookie things. C: Yeah. J: And then um I get to open presents.

C: Which are book related as well. J: I'm Jessica C: I'm Christeena. J: And you're

watching Both: Game of Tomes!

(music)

C: It feels weird if there's not a pause. I can't not pause. Okay, so. J: What are you

reading? C: Currently I am reading When She Woke by

Hilary Jordan. Did I say that right? J: Yeah, yeah. She just has a hard time saying woke. C: I don't know why.

J: You said it just fine. C: I've no idea why but we've talked about

this so many times and every time I would say J: Cause she C: What was, what was I saying? I don't know

you'd say it. C: Woke? J: Woke? C: When She Woke? J: And then you'd just be..

every single time you talk about the book you would say woke like four

times. C: I'm like, woke? Is that how it's said? Woke? Woke? Woke? J: I was proud of you

for saying it the first time. C: Thank you. J: Just once. C: Thank you so much. J: And then we had

to bring it up . C: It's by Hillary Jordan. It's kind of set in a future dystopian where

abortion is illegal and it's very, uh, a religious political system. J: Yes. C: And this

woman has an abortion and so they genetically dye her skin red to signify

her crime and there are other people in the society whose crime is reflected in

their skin color as far as misdemeanors are red, um pedophiles are blue and etc etc.

Things like that. And it just kind of follows her journey and I am almost done

with it. I just have this little.. maybe that would help. J: It sounded super good.

C: And I, I would glance at a couple of reviews on Goodreads while I was reading

this and there was one in particular that said this is a poor man's

Handmaid's Tale and I love The Handmaid's Tale. But this is definitely

different where I feel like it's.. it's definitely one that can stand on its

own. It definitely gives you Handmaid's tale vibes. J: Yeah. C: But in a completely different

way. J: Yeah. C: So. I like it and the world is actually

a normal world. Like in The Handmaid's Tale.. J: The society is still the same.

C: Yeah the society's the same. Like, people work and women aren't

that oppressed. Just the fact that like you can't have abortions. And um you know then

she gets released and it's kind of like, where am I gonna live? What job is gonna.. J: She's all red.

C: take me now that.. she's.. I mean she's all red. J: Yeah C: So um I, I really like it.

J: It sounds good. I'm glad you're enjoying it, you said. C: Yeah I am. I'm really enjoying

it a lot so far and I'm really really pleased with that. J: Yeah. Awesome

J: Are you listening to a book currently? C: No. I'm not. J: You just finished one right? C: Yeah, yeah, I just

finished The Orphan's Tale. J: Yeah I finished reading that yesterday. C: Our book club book. J: Yeah.

C: And that was good. We'll talk about that in our wrap up. J: Fo' sho'. I am

reading Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye. I just started it last night when we

decided that we were going to um read it together.

C: Yeah. J: And we'll have a discussion on it next week I hope. C: Yeah. J: Um but I just

started it last night before going to bed and I read like the first few pages

and I think I'm gonna really like it. C: I'm really excited about it. Isn't.. It follows

a young black girl.. J: Yeah. A young black girl who doesn't feel pretty in um with our society

and she wants to have really blue eyes I guess. I don't know what happens. She

prays for her eyes to turn blue it says. Um maybe she'll get her wish. I don't know

if that's what happens. C: Interesting. J: I don't know if that's what happens but uh..

C: I'm excited. J: It sounds good. C: This is also gonna be my first Toni

Morrison book. J: Me too. C: But we both own Beloved as well. J: Right

and we wanna read that next. C: Yeah, I'm excited. J: Yeah. I'm also listening.. I'm

listening to a book. I'm listening to.. uh C: Oh yeah. J: Okay, so I'm also listening to....

A Column of Fire by Ken Follet. That was hard. C: Wow. J: It was harder than it should

have been. C: That's alright. J: Um. It's number three in the Kingsbridge series the first one

being Pillars of the Earth. I really.. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm not enjoying it

as much as the first two books but I am getting into it now and liking

it. I just I don't feel like a close connection with the characters C: Yeah.

J: Like I normally have in his other books but maybe I will as we go on. C: Is this one also set

centuries ahead? J: Yeah. So, this one is set when Mary Tudor is Queen. Protestants are

oppressed by the Catholics and people are starting to be burned at the stake

and stuff. C: Oh, yeah. J: And so maybe they're gonna go to America in this one? C: Oh interesting

J: And it does take place a lot in um not just Kingsbridge which I found

uh interesting. Usually, it mostly centers around the town of Kingsbridge but

there's like a lot of side stories that take place in Spain and in France

I think. And there's no architect yet in this story. Whereas in the the first

one they were building the cathedral and the second one they were building this

big bridge. But so far there's been no building. C: I think they're.. maybe they're

like gonna build a column the fire. J: Maybe. Yeah.

Smart. So, There's.. I'm only like five or five to ten hours in or something. I don't know.

C: Yeah and the audio book is like what 45 hours? J: 30 C: 30? Oh wow. I thought it

would have been longer. Wasn't the second one forty something hours? J: The second one was

the longest. But it's very good. C: Good. I'm glad. J: And there's still time for an

architect to appear. C: It came out this year didn't it? J: Yeah. A few months ago. C: Cool. Cool.

J: Oh! It's birthday party time! C: In your little booktube watching community out there

please join me in singing Jessica happy birthday. If you're at work, sing it

loud, sing it proud. If you're at home, sing it to your cat or your dog or just look

at your screen and sing it to this lovely, beautiful, best friend of mine.

(laughter) C: Y'all better be singing with me! I'm

telling you. Are you ready? This isn't actually like a blow out candle.

J: I could pretend to blow it out and then you can turn it off. C: Okay. It smells good

though. It smells like frosting. J: Whew! C: It smells super sweet for

nine o'clock in the morning. J: Your clock moved. I was like where's the clock? C: Oh yeah. Yeah I should just put it back. Okay! (singing) Happy birthday

to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday my beautiful, best friend

Jessica. Happy birthday to you! J: Thank you. Thank you. C: You guys did good. I'm so proud

of you. And those who didn't sing.. J: Shame. C: Shame. Shame. Blow it out! Yay! Does that

work? J: I love it. C: So shout out to Wesley in our real-life book club for getting

this last night, nobody eating it, so I re-purposed it for today. Ready? J: Yes.

C: Oh gosh. Look at that. Mine's like.. ooooo. J: Pink.

C: Tink. J: Sink. C: I re-purposed my son's Happy Birthday bag from September and some Kroger

bags as tissue paper. J: I'm excited. Which should I do first? C: Book last.

J: Okay. C: And that's just on the top. None of that's actually wrapped. J: Okay. My... Oooh! It's magnetic

bookmarks! C: And look it's not like nice affirmations on the back. J: I have clarity.

I express truthfully. C: I trust. J: I love this. Seriously, magnetic bookmarks are my

jam. C: I know and so I wanted to get you some more but I wanted them to be

different and I know that we.. J: Oh! They're chakras! C: Yeah we enjoy yoga and so I thought that'd be cool. J: Yes!

J: They're chakras. I love it. Do you, do you want one? C: Yeah! J: Okay. C: I literally was

putting it in the bag, I was like can I ask her for one? Is that okay? J: Yeah! C: I've never used a magnetic bookmark.

J: Well, they're dope. You can have two if you want. C: You pick. Ooo. J: What does that say? C: I am grateful. And I am grateful for

you. J: And I am grateful for you. C: Okay, there's another gift-y gift.

J: That is awesome! C: It's a coffee cup that looks like a photography lens! Isn't that cool? J: Oh my gosh. I wanna open it.

C: It's not as big as I thought it was gonna be but it's still really cool. J: Okay. No it's perfect!

Oh my gosh! It looks real! C: Doesn't it? J: Yeah does. C: So it's actually not very big

but.. J: It has a lid and everything. I love it. C: That's so cool. J: It says Caniam. C: Copyright infringement!

You know. They gotta protect themselves. J: I really I love it. Thank you so much. C: You're

welcome and it's metal and inside so it seems like it would keep it nice and warm.
