Tardive Dyskinesia - Duration: 9:44.

Hey what's up I'm Rachel Star schizophrenic so let's talk about

tardive dyskinesia what is it tardive dyskinesia is a side effect of a lot of

different antipsychotic and antidepressant medications it's

characterized by excessive movement of the lips tongue and jaw also by feelings

of inner like restlessness rhythmic movements of the hands and feet and

shaking it falls under EPS symptoms of movement and muscle control problems

also a form of drug-induced Parkinson's tardive dyskinesia occurs days to weeks

after starting a new medication atypical antipsychotics tend to have a lower risk

of developing it as a side-effect after stopping the medication most people's

symptoms will go away however 10 to 50 percent of people it is

permanent much like antidepressants and antipsychotics medications they don't

really know how they work they don't really know what causes tardive

dyskinesia a theory is that it's caused somehow by the dopamine being blocked

from the medications if you take any antidepressants or antipsychotics you

need to be checked once a year by a doctor using the abnormal and voluntary

movement scale exam pretty much where they check to see if you're starting to

have any signs of tardive dyskinesia then they know they can take your

medication down or maybe even switch you to a different one a form for that is

actually in the descriptions and a link so check that out you can easily print

it off and take it to your next physical exam

okay so we're done with like the shiny nice part of the video okay let's just

like actually talk some TD so I started having issues with tardive

dyskinesia um back like maybe I don't know six years ago mmm um and I noticed

it first I don't know I was doing something in my bed like I was reading

or working on something in my tongue I noticed my tongue was like moving all

around in my mouth like a snake and I thought that was weird and I wasn't

doing it and pretty much it started from there

then the shaking and pretty much I would have like really bad fits of shaking to

full-on like jerking movements I'm pretty much constantly in pain in my

neck my shoulders up in here jaw I'm always like popping my jaw and I

think it has a lot to do with that because when I'm not like actively like

paying attention um apparently like I do that stuff

yay it can be like a little bit embarrassing I've gotten to the point

now where I'm like I'm used to it I'm more I think I get more embarrassed

about the shaking because it tends to come out at work and I'll be like

talking and shaking so it looks like I'm nervous and I'm actually like not it's

just like suddenly I'm like my hands are out of control and I guess the point

where like I can't even um write and it just like like gibberish and yeah so

that that's that's really the only embarrassing thing sometimes in the gym

like I'll notice and doing it the tongue thing with my mouth and I'm thinking a

lot of crap like how many people saw me over here like you know then what am i

doing that's life um for me I don't really know which medication caused it I

was on so many um for so many years I did a me on tons of different

antipsychotics trying to find one that worked none of them really did and then

I was on like a really high did dosage of antidepressants I was on the

highest dosage of prozac for years until it just couldn't work anymore so I

don't know which one caused it it kind of comes and goes it never like

fully goes away but like as far as like the jerking motions I noticed like when

I mentally get off so when I'm not as mentally here the jerking like the

full-on like jerking movements come out more I don't know maybe that's just part

like as my brain gets weaker is like right now it is just I don't know I

don't know why um I don't think it's gonna go away I'm pretty sure I got it

um it may get worse I mean I'm still on one like four different antidepressants

right now this is my little flag on waiting um so it's not like it could get

a lot worse just because of that but I definitely don't see it going anywhere

um I'm fine with that you know I've kind of accepted it down it just happens

Rachel shakes um Rachel does weird tongue stuff Oh

with the tongue stuff I only notice it when I'm in my MMA class because we have

to wear mouth guards because you do like a lot of sparring and stuff yeah I

notice it in there because like I keep flipping it out of my mouth like I'll

just constantly like it's kind of just going all around my mouth like the guard

that's the only time I can like myself notice it so these are actually own some

clips I found of me exhibiting this while I was filming and again it usually

the mouth stuff comes out when I'm like doing some sort of like physical

activity right we're like my body I'm like focusing my body on doing something

what's really interesting home is how I go from doing it I then talk and I go

like right back into doing it with like out skipping a beat

Ok move around, come in out, make it interesting

researching the other thing that kind of stood out to me I had no idea this was a

form of Parkinson's I did never I'd never heard of drug-induced Parkinson's

in my life um I just kind of like really threw me um just how tardive is actually

very close to Parkinson's and Huntington's and I'm just like really

crazy it just never occurred to me and the

fact that there were multiple types of Parkinson's and one of them was the

drug-induced kind I do know there are some medications you can take for TD but

I don't push him or anything because I've never taken them um and if you're

like me I don't want any more medication like I have I have the TD as a side

effect from a medication so I'm kind of worried about what side effect I'm gonna

get from that new medication like this is a big one um so yeah that I don't

know I haven't tried any of the medications and you know they they have

some out now um I've heard people tell you oh you should meditate and stuff

like that but like it doesn't really bother me enough to do that now what

point let's say the the jerking lets say was happening all the time the tongue

thing got to the point I couldn't eat or even like talk then yes I would totally

be open to let's let's find some medication for this at what point like

I've gotten like I need help with this like it's affecting my life then yeah I

totally will jump on that medication train but right now I don't feel like

mine's bad enough to really go through anything else on top of what I'm already

going through with schizophrenia and depression it's been really crazy for me

because the tardive I mean I had to go to my doctor and say

hey this has been happening to me and he was like oh yeah yeah yeah that happens

anyway okay like I no point no doctor no psychiatrists psychologists no normal

doctor no therapist all who knew I was taking all these medications ever said

in anything to me that I could develop this I could develop tardive um and

that's crazy to me especially when 80% of people apparently develop some form

like that blows my mind like that really blows my mind

um and I'm not saying don't take antidepressants or antipsychotics

because for me I'm still on them but I think it's very important for someone

who's getting treated for something to be aware that it could happen so when it

does happen you don't like freak out especially if you're being treated for

schizophrenia oh but yeah it's been interesting though

to me how many people over the past like two three years have come to me with

questions about TD and stuff and been pulling up past videos where I've

touched on it and just been like so many people having it and that's pretty crazy

also that that form I mentioned that exam no one has ever talked to me or

given me that exam in my life um I found that when I was like googling the exact

definitions of stuff to make this video and I found that exam and I was like

what what is this um like that's crazy to me and it's such a like if you read

over the exam it's like a super easy thing to do it's not like a like some

crazy like you're running a mile like they're literally like just checking for

things it's just crazy

so yeah I'm Rachel Star thank you so much for watching

maybe you learned some new facts about tardive dyskinesia I don't know like

share subscribe for more mental health and badass stunts videos bye

Big Surprises!

And it's thursday, the last episode for this month

March 2018

then there will be Easter holidays

also for my youtube channel

Big surprises are coming!

believe that things will be fantastic and so will be

big surprises coming, not only in the Easter egg

if you believe that there will be

something positive coming for you

and you put yourself in the right condition

so that positivity and beautiful things

can come to you

all this will come true

But remember:

you have to move yourself

for this to happen

you have to "clear the road"

Today you can create your future

I know, I always say it

I repeat the same things

maybe it's getting into your head

what it means to keep a positive attitude

To fight for your dreams

make sure that this journey, called life,

is not disappointing

be stimulating for you, day after day

It has to be interesting

So that you can say:

I haven't got a better day, they are all better days

I'm sure your dreams will come true

as long as you are willing to make them happen

Put yourself in a position to struggle

and to wait the right moment,

'cause THERE IS the right moment.

You have also to do this

TO WAIT!

Some things have well-defined times

and during this wait you don't have to stand still,

but you have to keep moving

I'm following a dream, ok

and in the meantime I'm not stopping

I'm studying,

I'm moving

every day I extend my knowledge

so that I can realize my dream.

I am manipulating it

ME!

And if I give up

the dream is not realized by itself

So: I have to keep my focus

and I can't get lost in the street

and believe me: I am surrounded by distractions

and for "distractions" I mean

all those little thing that fill you up the day

and that make sure you can not succeed

in what you're doing

But I'm determinated

and if I wanna do a thing I DO IT

I find the time

In fact, I often study at night,

after I have put the children to sleep

This story to give you an example, on my life

in how you have to.. ehm..

to know

how to manage and wait for something

Come on, come on that surprises arrive

always and for everybody.

when you least expect it

in the meantime, I wish you a happy Easter

We'll see again in April

No "song" for today, let's do in this way:

Turn on the radio

and the first song you listen

could hide signals for you

It could remember something

a sign... I don't know

Learn to pay attention in what surrounds you

because everything is connected

yeah, I get it!

Are these notes for me?

20 Piano Hacks (PART 2) to INSTANTLY Sound Like A PRO!!!! - Duration: 22:56.

hello musicians my name is Corey Taylor from SkilledMusician, com where we are

helping musicians improve thank y'all so much for checking out today's video now

today's video is part two of our 20 piano hackS so if you haven't seen part

one definitely should go check it out there's a lot of cool hacks it now

today's hacks a little bit more advanced than last week's but but you all can do

them so I've broken the hacks down into two big concepts and then on each

concert there's a lot of little small hacks and for those that are new I put

timestamps in the description box so you can easily find each hack

also I've made sheet music for each of these hacks and I'm some of them

I've actually taken through all 12 keys for you to make it easier I've also

created a MIDI file of the final demonstration at the end of this video I

do a big demonstration where I show you kind of all the hacks put together and

so I created a MIDI file for that so you can definitely check that out

and also if you have not downloaded the lead sheet for our example song that

we're using for all of these hacks that link is in the description box as well

lastly definitely hit the subscribe button you all are amazing group of

musicians and we definitely wanna continue to grow this community

musicians just like you doesn't need to subscribe but if you're new to the

channel and if you've been here definitely share these videos on social

media let's go Tina grow this channel alright the let's not waste any more

time let's get started

so another piano hack is to add suspensions resolutions and just

basically movement to your inner voices now it sounds like a difficult and

mouthful but it's actually really really easy so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna

give you two options on major chords and then kind of a your choice your own

choice on dominant chords so let me show you so the first thing you want to do is

look at your hands differently and so what this requires you to do is to kind

of think of your hands in three different zones so you have your your

kind of route to your kind of base zone then you have your inside voices and

then you have your melody right so here are two options I enjoy doing on major

chords to add movement to the inner voices or here's the first one so

whenever I have the third on top so if I'm playing an F major chord and the

third is on top of that chord I do this

to hear that so what it is

so what what that does is so we have this motion and so we go from F major

it's like a F major six or if you're gonna be minor taking a D minor because

it's the same notes an F major F major six kind of it doesn't change the sound

so much that you wouldn't play it over just a regular F major chord so I can I

use often do them somewhere

right

so what am I playing internally some more

now there are a couple ways you can think about how to get these notes how

did it we give them everything well one way I can think of it as I'm

going to these notes D and half so I'm just surrounding them

you see another way you can think is this really looks like d-minor so it's

like I'm playing an A and then going to D minor so a major event D minor either

way it works but the point is in your right hand you're gonna play the sharp

11 so from F sorry not sharp 11 sharp 5

sharp five sharp I'm sorry shot five seven and six and your left hand seven

to water and the way you want to play it is you want to play the outside voices

first and then the inner voice all right so that's one way when the third is on

top you can do this it's kind of another way is when the fifth is on top I'll

often do this one as well so what is that this is kind of the idea of the

same idea of five to one so I'm playing a half right and then I outline these

notes and this is just a CDS no 67 4 which plays off the principal five to

one so five accord right so so another way to think of it

is I'm just having my notes of my F major try and I'm just surrounding them

again so on this left hand I'm gonna go to a so I'm gonna know before they note

after in this scale so then right hand I'm going to app so not before not after

and then oh you see that so

let's do that all right um so let's just kind of demonstrated a few of them so

here it is

Oh

right did you see that so that was the same idea I just did it over B flat

also in beef I have 2/3 on top so I went right to that one so

I'm sorry try again

alright now I'll also give you something like to do to kind of add a little

flavor onto it's just something small but I like to sorry

so this guy neighbor zone

here

so what I'm doing is

so really quickly

and so you can have fun with that melody internal melody and just kind of messing

around with a little bit

right into the

alright alright so that's two options on major chords

so let me give you a kind of my whole theory on dominant chords alright so on

dominant chords I like to do what I call it changing tensions which is let's

someone here let's take a regular old seem us two notes to a seven so eight

seven alright so here's a dominant for a seven

and this is cool but we can start changing the tensions let's make it a

seven flat nine all right let's make it at age seven flat now I'm with the flat

five different tension let's bring at a seven sharp nine sharp

five let's make it a seven just sharp nine right so you can change the

tensions on these chords on dominant chords

offer so let me give you some my tried-and-true I said I was only gonna

give you one but I take that back I'm actually gonna give you a few things

like the deal with Dominic whores to change the tensions

alright so let's say we're doing our song by here so we're here so I could

play this breakaway a7 you know that works that's not the best

sound though mmm so let's play des eighty seven flat nine flat father do

you hear that alright and let's change some of the

tension so I'm gonna take this flat five he's gonna roast throw it down to making

just a regular flat nine so that's right so I'll play it in context

you hear that

it's another one

all right so so this is a seven sharp nine sharp five chord here's it a seven

flat nine flat five or sharp 11 and so

right so I can I can go back and forth between the two and it works really cool

because they're both tribes in the right hand it makes it work really easily so I

did over here

right

alright let me give you another one I like to do and so all I'm doing is going

changing the tension notes so other particularly else I avoid maybe only the

major seven that's probably the only note I don't a wouldn't play but even at

that never rule is is these aren't there's no teacher service music theory

not music truth so even then I'll still occasionally do it let me think of a

case all right

so I do this sometimes

so I did this I have this this upward moving sometimes I'll stop there

I see it

all right you think I won't keep on now we gotten past the melody all right

so we hope you're seeing what I'm doing I'm just kind of moving from one tension

to the others

so let's kind of break down the tissue notes so we have a very real ace a major

8 7 is to G now here's a 9 B so we can flat it which makes it B flat or sharp

it with the mixer be sharp or C major and harmonically I'm AC and harmonically

a B sharp right so from putting C 7 I could add the flat 9 or the truck now

you see that's one option so I could you know do something like

alright so did all right another tension note is the 5 so you can flat it or

sharp it right so you get in you can play with

this to hear that that's a cool sound

all right another note is the 13 find that in there

and so I don't know I'm just kidding moving away moving towards these tension

notes just trying to see what what melodically makes sense internally and

so you can really play with these really have a lot of fun with them and so yeah

many times if I'm trying to they say all right

another way I like to move inner voice is on a dominant chord

so I'm give you two let's take C major our c7 sorry I'll do this

so that's back to our original one that we initially did the first one in F

I'm doing over at Dominic or so the only difference is instead of

playing it as it I would normally play it I flat the 7 4 c7 which would be its

forward to keep at Beaufort Sea because I'm gonna keep path here alright so let

me show you so in our song

right there so that's just a play off of the initial art I showed you and so I'm

just adjusting the notes that fit the core so this is c7 which has to be flat

not at B but B flat let me go back to Kiev first my trophy

well if we were playing f7 Howard so be it would I would change it to be a

flat but this case we're not all right so

that's two ways over major chords in two ways over Dominic horns to changed it

tensions at suspension and resolution in a movement to your inner voices and that

that's a really cool piano hack so work on those and I'm out let me see what you

you come up with so make some videos where you're changing the tensions and

and doing these movements there are a lot more movements and I'm tagged me in

them so I can see them alright alright so that's that

so another really cool piano hack that really adds interest and spices really

just changes the sound of your playing it's adding a left hand

our Pidgey ated line of some sort someone give you my favorite line to add

so in the key of F over F major up so the the line is one five and then we go

to the two or nine

so at this

you see that

ALSO on b-flat

Eb

all right so you get the idea so how do I do it over our example song well let's

give it a try I'm gonna take it a little slower so you can hear it so here it is

all right so you kinda get the idea of its ads rip this like it's a different

style of playing and so what sort of scare is when you're playing two hundred

voices and you you know and you can use your left hand to feel harmonically

there and this kind of playing you might have to add one or two notes more in

your right hand so three or four chords in your right hand instead of maybe

sometimes two.

all right cool that's one my all-time favorite left

hand lines. There are plenty others that's just one of my

favorites that I like doing but definitely work work who try to find

your own evening but that's a great one another one

that's the other one that's kind of classic

so it's kind of a classic one. this one a little different so it kind of has

different sound to it I would definitely though that's a great

way to add interest and color to your playing so it's a great piano hack for

you

so okay here's what I'm going to do I'm going to play through the song comment

and just kind of plate how I would play it and I'm going to try to point out on

the screen where I utilize some of the techniques that we talked about I'm

gonna try to use all utilize all of them and I'll try to write on the screen

everything I'm doing now remember the whole point of this video is to get the

small stuff so there'd be some big stuff like some chord you might want to know

what it is and I'll explain those in future videos but the whole idea is to

get this small stuff because it's because the small stuff really makes the

difference in your playing whether you get the big cord or not if you're able

to do these small things like grace notes or any movements suspensions and

resolutions left-hand lines just kind of all of that really can transfer when

you're playing more than just playing this the big fancy court of the big

fancy one so without further ado here goes

you

all right pretty cool so I hope you weren't overwhelmed by the number of

hacks and ideas for you to learn remember my whole philosophy just get

one down mastered I'm gonna move on to the next one you don't have to get them

all by tomorrow so just get one down really really well also definitely check

out our new Instagram and Facebook pages if you haven't they're pretty cool then

we'll be doing some Instagram Facebook live starting shortly so stay tuned for

that also if you're new to this channel definitely hit the subscribe button

below so you can be notified when we upload new material alright

Preparing for your Filipina lady arriving in Australia - Duration: 7:30.

Preparing for your Filipina lady arriving in Australia

The grand day has arrived!

Your Filipina lady has her Australian visa grant!

Could be a Partner Visa or a Prospective Marriage Visa,

or maybe it's the first time she's visited on a

Tourist Visa.

We're talking about the moment when your lady from the Philippines first

steps across your threshold and enters your home in Australia.

That means it will be her home too, either for a first three month visit

or for many years ahead.

Whichever way it is, something monumental is about to happen and

your life will never be quite the same again.

Living together as an Australian Filipina couple

Quite a number of our Australian sponsors haven't lived with a lady before.

Many "never married" chaps out there.

And some of you have been divorced and living as bachelors for

enough years to forget that life was ever any different.

And.....well....life with a Filipina is usually a little different to life with local

ladies.

Why?

Mainly because Filipinas are a little bit more domesticated and take their wife role

a little more seriously than many a modern Aussie woman

does.

That's what I think.

Not just from the housework perspective, but the whole wife-and-mother

role and the set of duties and expectations that go with it.

Don't expect her to arrive and plonk herself on the couch to

watch things happen around her.

She will have very clear ideas about how things should be,

and she will generally get stuck into things once the shyness wears off.

Your Filipina lady and housework

In my experience, we spent two days cleaning our house top to bottom.

Had the bonfire going for two days too.

Mila arrived and spent a week redoing what we thought we did a

fantastic job on.

Apparently you DO need to clean under beds.

Didn't know that.

Look, if your lady is anything like Mila (and I hope she is, as you will be a lucky many

like I am), she will do this and she won't mind.

Be prepared to let her do it.

Don't expect to sit her down and wait on her, or you will embarrass

her as much as you would be embarrassed to sit on your bum while she changed the car

tyre!

Get what I mean?

Let her take care of you and your house.

Get used to it!

Maybe soon you'll LIKE living in a clean house with healthy

and delicious food, and to look less like a stray!

What you need to expect is some re-arranging and some serious "observation" taking place!

Previous Relationships and your Filipina lady

I had some old letters in a drawer, and in a box somewhere.

Yes, of course Mila found them.

Fortunately they all had dates on them prior to us meeting, so I'm still alive today.

Some ladies have been less understanding, and have

assumed the letters remained because you were still crazy about this woman and kept

the letters on purpose!

Photos, even worse!

If you HAVE kept any memorabilia lying around?

Get rid of it!

If the CSI team from TV couldn't find it, she will!

I remember years ago a silly chap keeping a pair of panties from the

ex.

She found them.

The results were very bad.

And rightly so!

And there's one more topic which extends from this.

Porn!

Filipina attitudes toward pornography and husbands

I touched on this topic in a recent FilipinaWives post on "Mind Reading", some will

remember.

I have no personal stories, happy to say.

But there's many a chap out there who's developed a habit over the years, and

some may still have a magazine collection tucked away somewhere.

Strongest suggestion?

Burn it!

Or as I said to one client (much to his amusement), "Sell the porn collection

and buy a rice cooker".

Fact is, the majority of Filipina ladies will be horrified to see their man drooling over

other women.

It's insulting, and seen as akin to cheating.

It can lead to horrible fights, and in a few times I've seen it come close to breaking

up.

You should be perfectly content with this wonderful lady, otherwise why is she even

there in the first place?

Rice and other food for Filipinas

I've done a few articles on what I think of the average Filipino diet on

www.filipinawives.com.au as many of you know, but right now that's not the main issue.

What IS an issue is you need to consider that she's just arrived and will need time to adjust,

and that change takes time and takes consensus.

Right now you should ensure that she's comfortable, and yes a big part of this is

rice!

So make sure you purchase a RICE COOKER if you don't have one.

Any appliance store will sell you one.

Get something good quality.

And make sure you have things like:

* Soy * Vinegar

* Garlic * Onions

* Pepper * Bayleaves

* Fish sauce * Chicken stock

And of course, a large bag of rice.

That means at least 10kg, preferably 20kg!

500 gram bags of rice don't exist in the Philippines.

Chicken, pork and fish.....a good idea.

Don't expect her to take to lamb too quickly.

And a few cans of sardines and (yes, I'm serious)

Spam will go down well.

Hot dogs too.

Find an Asian store, because she will want to go shopping obviously.

If they have a wallis tingting there ("witches" broom), grab it.

One or two plastic Tabo (plastic dipper for bum-

washing) too.

Next article, I'll explain a bit about friends and social groups, as well as relating to

kids and family.

Be sure to show plenty of patience, OK?

Mila still talks about the efforts I made all

those years ago, so yes it matters.
