Why The Vancouver Public Library Is Awesome - Duration: 4:05.

What's up guys David here today, I'm gonna be showing you the Vancouver Public Library, but David libraries aren't really my thing

I can relate but I ask you to withhold judgment until you finish watching this video now come with me as I take you to

The roof of a library which was just recently open to the public on the day that we went there

Just so happened to be a four day book sale happening prices were

Ridiculously cheap fifty cents for a paperback and $2.00 for a hardcover and all the prices were cut in half on the last day

I'm always looking for good reading material

So guys leave me a comment below telling me the last good book you read, but that's not why we're here

We're heading to the roof and we're making our way inside as we enter we go onto the second floor

There's also a set of steps that lease down to the first floor

Which is the children's area if you have kids the second floor has DVDs and blu-rays you can borrow the newest books and a section

For teens as well as throughout the entire library

There are computers you can use to check the location of a book and next to the entrance is the book checkout

and for the sake of this video

We're gonna take the stairs because the elevator would make this a really short video

And now this is the really amazing thing guys inspiration lab

It opened about three years ago in the library and it's free sound booth. These things are professional sound booths with professional equipment inside

It's all free to use you. Just have to book a time

They also have a computer lab that's specially meant for editing and videos and all that stuff. It's all free with membership, which is free

Well now you might be thinking what's on floor for like a chocolate fountain or like personal massages or well actually no it's very much

Like a library and it's actually very boring

We'll just move on to floor five which is slightly more interesting because it's got these magazine stacks

So if you just want to chill read like a paper version of a blog you can check out what the draft preview is happening

Or you can be like hey who are the next future 50 or what's this hunk up to?

They also have these big old things that I've never actually used but I've seen them in the movies and they seem like giant magnifiers

For print and as we make our way up to the sixth floor, we'll notice a little Stanley tribute rest in peace Stan

Now for six is just a lot of books books everywhere rows and rows of books

But it also starts to offer some really cool views look we can see the people down to the book sale

This is also one of the few places left in the city that offers public pay phones

So if you need to make a call and you don't have a phone you can always come here

The entire building is excuse my language ranking. Awesome if you like architecture, you'll love this place

You can look at see down onto the other floors. How cool is that?

But let's keep going because we're almost at the roof floor seven has a lot of historical information in there Special Collections

But we have to make an appointment to get in there

Floor 8 has a current exhibit and now exhibits change every couple of months

There's also a massive double staircase in the center of floor 8 that'll take you up to floor 9

Which is where you will find the rooftop gardens now to get outside

All you got to do is wave your hand in front of this sensor

and then you can step outside and take a nice big breath of fresh air the

Rooftop is open as long as the library is so you can spend as much time as you want up there

The rooftop garden

consists of three areas the main patio area which is where we entered on to and the south side which has more

tables and chairs to relax at and it faces out towards Homer and Robson Street and

On the north side is a very similar setup to the other South Side with tables and chairs

But this overlooks West Georgia Street now across the street is the old Canada Post building and there's something unique about this

Amazon recently bought this building they're now constructing on top of the existing building

This building is going to be their tech hub for software development and it's expected to finish in 2022

And this is what its gonna look like

Now to sign up for a membership to the library is easy

all you need is two pieces ID one with photo ID and something with your address on it now if you're not a local or

Even from this country you can still go and you can still sign up

It's just gonna cost you $30 for three months

But if you just want to go and use one of the hundreds of computers, they have there and get free internet access

They'll give you a temporary internet pass for free guys. That's it. My name is David. I'm your guide to Vancouver

I hope you enjoyed this video

if you did

Please give it a thumbs up and subscribe and a big thank you to anyone that takes the minute to share this on Facebook

Sharing these videos really helps me as a content creator make more videos about Vancouver, which is what I love to do

Yu-Gi-Oh! December 2018 Banlist! Firewall Banned...Some FTK still there - Duration: 3:41.

Yu-Gi-Oh! December 2018 Banlist! Firewall Banned...Some FTK still there

Non-violence for me and let's see why

So let's get started. This panelists will be effective from the 3rd of December 2018

and

let's see the

Forbidden cards and there is only one forbidden card is firewall Drago. Finally Konami

understood that firewall dragon was the problem and all the other cards but

this is the only

forbidden card as you can see, so that means that there are still some after case going around like the Akashi of the case who

why Konami just ban firewall dragon and did not care about the manicotti of decay and

they should have been banned also the

the tower in my opinion a fire dragon ban is finally here and

It deserve

it's

Finally here

It's good. It's the best decision

Everyone was saying the economy won't benefit will drag on because of merchandising

Well Fallujah was way too strong

then

For the limited cars we got Armageddon night as you can see, so I'm a getting night to one

Okay, but it still searchable through

Rota, it's still summer ball through the is all D. So

This we we can a little bit the consistency but

Am I gonna night is still there and one?

That's the only card limited therefore the semi limited. We got destiny hero militias. I told you that

militias or went band or two to because

Putting it to one would have make no sense. So having two two is fine so you can

Ditch the first one banished special someone and that's it so it can help you but not too much

and then no longer release we get hey a so core finally 3c players can

Rejoice Cosmo dark destroyer and call by degree, which I actually do not understand at all

I think that

Having common a graven tree now can means that like si can come back maybe later in the future because it's more countable

but I don't send a white called I very went to and and then now back to tree I

Don't know

So that's it for today. I think this won't changed too much

except that for a fact that we will see a

lot of life decays because my Akashi is an SDK, but not so consistent maybe and

It's not as much popular as the danger dark world of decay or the other applicator

You can perform through the firewall dragon. So that's it for today

I really hope you enjoyed this video. If you got saw suggestions, please comment down below like a subscriber for me

and you can guarantee that your request definitely does happen, like this very

video. Yhis is a request by Tim Eversole. So, thank you very much Tim! Hey! All I really

know about David is that he is an American Christian vocalist and

he is meant to have crazy high range. So let's start Christmas with 'Oh Holy Night'! Sqwee!

Christmas is on its way!

Oh! It's like an actual nativity scene

Really interesting. He's putting loads of breath through this **SINGS** He did breathe

in a place which I don't particularly like. Before the word 'shining'. Generally

I like it when you don't cut up a sentence. So, you just sing the sentence

how you would say it. However he is doing this half time so the phrases are super

long and sometimes you just do need to take a breath. It's about balancing

quality of tone and sustaining long phrases with the meaning of the sentence.

In this case because it's such a long phrase, he's gonna have to choose one or the other

He went for quality of tone and sustaining the long notes. What do you

prefer? I don't know, I'll leave that up to you.

The first phrase we heard after the last break was a super classical and then the

**SINGS** he added that whiny tone **SINGS** to make it super super poppy. It's quite

nice because you're getting a little taster of that classical traditional

feeling but then he is showing that he's probably gonna do some cool pop Rocky

style belt.

Yeah exactly

Good piano playing

Nice

Great! These high notes are really

effortless for him. Super full, really resonant. He almost

has the tone of a baritone. It sounds very warm. It does not sound as high as

it is but really, he's quite easily hitting As in a very lovely secure way,

I much prefer this higher part of his range to the lower part. I feel like he's

really worked on his technique to get these big notes. It's kind of going

towards a pop rock belt. I also really like how he suddenly brought it down

that was really nice, because I was like 'is he gonna go for that B?'. I think he

will go for that B later on. I'm sure because I could hear it in my head and I

was excited. And then him to bring it back was like "Oh what's gonna happen

next'. He will do it

All these big notes are really on 'ah' vowels, 'divaahn', 'nahght'. He's making it

an "ah' sound to make it much easier for him to reach those top notes

Anahhhther

Passion. I like it

Woah!

Wow!

I'm going to be slightly honest. I was a bit worried that it would kind of stay

around there. Yeah, you can do B flats. It's kind of exciting. I didn't expect it

to go to that lovely amazing high mix. It's so full. And the choir comes in.

Oh that was really a good moment. And I thought, uh yeah I'm gonna

be like it's alright, it's alright. He's doing some really really good

technical things. But yeap, that moment there was extraordinary. I really

enjoyed it

I love the organ

I have to say there was so many different levels to that the first bit.

I was a bit like, his lower range, his tone was fine.

When he was getting higher and it sounded really full and really easy, I was like

okay, okay. I'm more on board, for sure. and then when he hit that top note and the

arrangement of the choir coming in. That was really really good. And the ease up

there was phenomenal. I'm sure it would also have sounded even better live as well because

it never comes across quite as well on a recording, especially an older recording

like this. That's a lovely way to start off the count down to Christmas. Thank you

for watching. I hope you enjoyed it. If you did please do like and subscribe and

I'll see you the next one! Bye!

Lightning Struck Apollo 12... Twice, Here's How Mission Control Reacted | Apollo - Duration: 7:11.

There's a lot that can go wrong during a spacecraft launch.

And shortly after Apollo 12 left the ground, the mission was struck with an electrifying complication.

Not once… but twice.

[Astronauts] I don't know what happened here. We had everything in the world drop out.

I'm not sure we didn't get hit by lighting.

1969 was a milestone year for NASA.

[Armstrong] The Eagle has landed.

The space agency achieved its goal of getting to the moon and back by the end of the decade.

But Apollo 11 almost didn't make it there.

During their descent to the moon, the Lunar Module threw a fit and the astronauts missed their target

landing spot by a good six kilometers.

So the next mission, Apollo 12, would have to prove that a precision lunar landing was possible.

The crew consisted of close friends: commander Pete Conrad, command module pilot Dick Gordon

and lunar module pilot Al Bean.

Aside from perfecting landing techniques, their primary objectives were to perform detailed

scientific lunar exploration and deploy the Apollo Lunar Surface Experiments Package or

ALSEP for short.

This was a collection of geophysical instruments designed to monitor the environment of each

Apollo landing site for the period of at least a year.

Conrad and Bean would be the astronauts to put this science into action in the moon's

mysterious region known as the Ocean of Storms.

On the morning of the launch, ominous clouds blanketed the sky above the Kennedy Space Center.

But the rain was dying down and conditions were within the minimums of what was considered adverse.

So Apollo 12 took off.

About 36 seconds in, things got weird.

The crew didn't realize it, but a powerful electrical surge had shot through the Saturn V.

And about 20 seconds later, mother nature would prove that lightning can and will strike

the same place twice.

The crew was in the dark.

Several major systems went offline, including all three fuel cells,

the spacecraft's main source of power.

If they didn't find a solution in the next 90 seconds, Apollo 12 would have to abort.

On the ground at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, mission control was just as confused.

The flight controller consuls were reading nonsensical telemetry data from the spacecraft, giving the team

no sign of a solution.

This was a nightmare scenario for flight director Gerry Griffin.

Just over a minute into his first mission as lead flight director, he was facing a potential disaster.

But if Griffin learned anything from his mentors, there were a lot of options

and failure wasn't one of them.

Throughout the Apollo Program, the mission control team was faced with do or die decisions.

It was by no means a low stress work environment.

Many of the Apollo flight controllers joined NASA with no relevant

experience and some were fresh out of college.

But in a very short period of time, they had to become masters of spaceflight.

NASA's first flight director, Chris Kraft, was essentially the brainchild

of Apollo's mission control system.

At the helm of each crewed mission was a flight director.

He was supported by a team of flight controllers who were responsible for specific spacecraft functions.

For example, GUIDO watched over the primary guidance, navigation and control systems,

while EECOM handled the electrical, environmental and communications systems.

The Apollo mission control teams ran thousands of flight simulations to anticipate every

possible scenario that could unfold in space.

And during Apollo 12, a memory from one of these simulations saved the team from an abort.

SCE to Aux was the answer to their problems, and 24-year old EECOM John Aaron was the only

one who knew it.

A year earlier, he was in Mission Control during a simulation in which the spacecraft's

voltage was accidentally dropped.

The change affected the Signal Conditioning Equipment or SCE which was a small power supply

that provided voltage to critical instrumentation points in various systems

including the fuel cells.

If the power supply failed, an auxiliary supply could be switched on.

All the crew had to do was find the right switch, which wasn't a simple task given

the complexity of the spacecraft's display.

Astronaut Al Bean was the only member of the crew who knew which switch to flip.

And just like that, the spacecraft's systems came back online and the flight controllers

were able to read the data again.

Rookie Flight Director Gerry Griffin escaped the near abort.

They found no other damage from the lightning strike,

so Griffin decided to continue to the Moon.

The astronauts, still in disbelief, laughed uncontrollably until they reached orbit.

Once settled in lunar orbit, Conrad and Bean embarked on the most crucial part of the mission.

They had to perfect a pinpoint landing on the lunar surface.

But first, they had to find their targeted touchdown point.

As they approached, Conrad recognized a familiar crater from a map of their landing site.

He steadied the Lunar Module and touched down in a cloud of dust within close range of their

target, demonstrating that a precision lunar landing with the Apollo system was possible.

Once on the surface, the astronauts conducted several experiments and deployed the ALSEP.

They also collected and returned components from the nearby Surveyor 3 spacecraft, which

landed on the Moon in 1967.

After over 30 hours, Conrad and Bean flew back to the Command-Service Module where their

buddy Dick Gordon was waiting.

Apollo's three best friends splashed down in the Pacific just 62 seconds later than planned.

Apollo 12 didn't get as much attention as Apollo 11, in part, because it wasn't televised.

Shortly after landing on the moon, Bean fried the camera when he pointed it directly at the Sun.

But all that aside, Apollo 12 turned out to be a pioneering mission for the Apollo Program.

The pinpoint touchdown of the Lunar Module enabled all of the targeted landings to follow.

And the near abort showed the capabilities of mission control, proving that the team

was prepared to work through unexpected problems under extreme pressure.

And that would become incredibly important for the next mission - Apollo 13.

Like Mission Control, the Apollo astronauts went through extensive training, learning

how to do a job that had never been done before.

If you want to get a look inside their extreme spaceflight preparations, check out this video.

And, if you want more, be sure to watch the entire Apollo series.

Thanks for watching!
