Waching daily Dec 17 2018

(upbeat music)

- Obviously, you know by now, that we're Italian.

But mom, why have we never done this before?

- Well, your dad has always insisted on having a tenderloin.

- And I also think it's because she never heard

about the Feast of the Seven Fishes, till a few years ago.

Is not just seven fishes, some people do 10, 13.

The seven fishes started as part of the seven sacraments.

- Is that what you heard? - Mhmm.

- It was more of the peasant...

- Peasant?

- Type fish.

- Salt cod and octopus and sardines.

Over the years has become a grand feast.

So I'm bringing in some classis things that I've found out

and then pull some of my own things,

because...

We're just gonna see how many pots and pans

we can get going at once.

If I'm doing anything

you can comment and let me know.

I'd love to hear about how you celebrate

the Feast of the Seven Fishes, if you do.

This is actually, though, something you said you were

gonna do for us, for this Christmas Eve.

- Yes, me and dad talked about it and

that's what we had decided to do.

- So, you have to start with a couple appetizer things,

a couple kind of heavier things.

The first dish I'm gonna make is something with salt cod.

Had to place a special order for this.

Kinda freaked me out a little bit,

'cause it comes in an envelope, in the regular mail.

So I've soaked it and rinsed it for three days.

- And I'll make the sauce for the oysters on the half.

- Yeah, so she's gonna make a mignonette sauce,

'cause she does this every year.

So, that's kind of your masterpiece.

So, I go in this hot, with the rinsed cod.

Just don't put your nose right up to it and you're good.

- I didn't know I was actually going to be cooking.

- Right.

Like we have time for me to do all this by myself.

We probably should have a cocktail, though.

- I know, why should this be any different?

- Right, this is what we do.

You also happen to need Prosecco in your mignonette sauce.

- Actually, I do.

(wine cork pops)

- She asked if I really do drink

when we do this shows or am I just faking it.

- ...on faking it?

- Okay, cheers. - Cheers.

- So, I'm gonna bring this to a boil and let it simmer

for about 20 to 30 minutes till it kinda flakes apart.

Then I'm going to pure it.

So, I'm making kind of like a salt cod spread

that's gonna go over crostini.

I think it's gonna be pretty tasty.

(electric stove turns on)

I guess I can start on the third dish.

Which is...

Go on and...

... I know this is not traditional

but I'm bringing in my low country husband into this.

- And crab is a shell fish.

- Christmas Eve dinner's in our family

are always very fancy, though.

It's the nicest meal of the year.

They don't ask us kids to do anything, even though

we're all old enough with our own kids.

Then when we leave her favorite saying...

Do you wanna say it?

(laughing)

She says...

- Oh, no...

The cod is now boiled over and it's smelling quite strongly.

- Oh, that does smell.

- So, I'm gonna make my crab cakes.

These are one of my specialties.

Alright, I'm gonna saute some onion, bell pepper, celery.

- This peppercorns are about to make me sneeze.

- You just need to go at it.

- Show me.

Well, I was trying to be quiet.

I just feel like, Nicole, I need a towel over my shoulder.

'Cause that's what mama would have on her shoulder.

- Now, we're gonna do the mama towel holder.

- Okay, feel better? - Yes.

- Okay. - Mama's with us now.

- Shopping for this feast is gotta be the most expensive

meal of the year.

So, our three lighter courses are

the salt cod, the oysters and the crab cakes.

Then we're gonna have cioppino, a fish stew.

That's gonna knock out three fishes.

I don't think that's called cheating,

but if it is, would you let me know, down below?

This one is just gonna have mussels, clams

...and halibut.

No, because I'm doing my shrimp in my final dish.

Which is shrimp scampi.

So, that makes...

Wo, here we go again.

- Oh...

How many times do we boil this?

- Okay, so the mess is starting to increase.

- You know what's missing, Nicole?

- So, I'm gonna start with fennel onion and garlic

in the cioppino.

Do you put fennel in yours?

- It's just something you just don't have

in your refrigerator.

- If you were a true Italian you would have it.

Okay, so what are you doing for our feast?

What are we having?

'Cause I don't think you could do this types of dishes...

- No, we are not having the cod.

- ...this would stress you out.

- But I would like to do the salmon dip, sort of like

what you're doing with the cods.

- Smoked salmon dip, oysters on the half shell,

a whole baked fish, you have four more to go.

- And a cioppino.

And I wanna do a pasta dish.

- So, you're probably gonna have more than seven fishes.

(laughing)

Uh, now it's gonna start smelling good.

- Okay, well, this is kind of flaking apart.

I think that means it's ready to pure.

Alright mom, so what are some of our other traditions?

We have dad reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.

- Well, you know we have to have hang out

and wait on the firetruck to come with Santa Claus.

- We used to go spread Christmas cheer but dad would take

us to buy two cases of wine,

and then we just go to neighbors' houses to deliver it.

That was after we hit up the breakfast buffet Shoney's.

- Oh...

Oh yeah, that was my time to...

(laughing)

- Oh, yeah.

Whoop.

(laughing)

- You usually start dancing when you taste something.

You've done that since you were a little girl, too.

- She just gave you all the secrets.

Huh, it's like there are so many steps to do.

Alright, the cod has been drained and slightly cooled.

I don't know if I'm doing this right.

I'm sure you will let me know if I'm not.

I'm gonna chop up the fish and the garlic.

I think it might be quite nice.

Let's give it a taste.

(cracker crunches)

- Sounds delicious.

(cracker crunches)

This is something you could make in advance.

- Not everything is made to order.

- It's smelling good.

- Okay, I gotta clean up a little bit.

Are we ready to carry on?

- Well, I thought we were gonna clean up.

Beautiful.

And you also have to love to eat.

We are not a family that eats to live.

Do you know how to shock oysters?

- I do, but I don't like to.

Okay, now see?

That's done.

Would you put those in the oven?

- The younger you would have already done that.

You can go back and see my tutorial

on how to shock an oyster.

- How beautiful.

- How ice cold.

You're gonna need a cracker, aren't you?

This lady won't eat an oyster without a saltine cracker.

Good thing I'm not really shocking oysters for the crowd.

- Now, we'd be here till New Year's.

- Go for it. - You have to do...

- a little hot sauce.

A little lemon juice.

- Mm.

- I have to dance. - She dancin'.

(laughing)

- She's going back in.

I'm over here doing all the hard work.

So, you're cutting the halibut into just big chunks.

We're gonna drop it in here, with our shell fish.

And I'll just sprinkle a little salt and pepper on those.

Tired yet?

- No.

(laughing)

- Have you ever made shrimp scampi?

(humming song)

- Alright, while the cioppino finishes,

I'm gonna do the shrimp scampi.

And we will have completed our seven fishes.

Oh, mom, can you get the crab cakes out?

Shrimp scampi is all about buttery garlicky goodness.

Serving it over pasta because I just don't think

you can have any Italian feast that does not include pasta.

Okay, going out with my scrumps.

- Now the red pepper flakes, huh?

- More wine, more better.

- Oh, that looks so pretty.

Look at what you've created.

- Check it out!

Alright, so we're gonna clean up

for the final presentation, right?

- Right.

- 'Cause we cannot eat like this.

- We did it.

- I can't believe we did it.

- [Nicole] It only took us what?

Three hours?

- [Gloria] And it was so much fun.

- It's fun when-- you know, we're paced

for this kind of stuff.

(laughing)

Y'all look, I mean, you gotta be impressed, right?

This is the Feast of the Seven Fishes.

This is so grammable.

Smile.

I think we conquered our first Feast of the Seven Fishes.

What's your favorite thing we made?

- Probably the oysters.

(laughing)

- Great.

- And this may be my second, right here.

And I love it when the fish is so delicious like that.

(cracker crunches)

- That's it, for this episode.

What did you think?

- I loved being mom versus mom.

- Versus Feast of the Seven Fishes.

So, do you think you're ready to conquer this for us

on Christmas Eve?

To see how she did, I will post pictures on my Instagram

so be sure and follow me at NicoleMcMom.

And as always, don't forget to...

And if you're watching on YouTube...

- Cheers, mama. - Cheers.

(laughing)

- I'm here today with my mom.

- I'm here today with my mom.

(laughing)

Young Link: ULTIMATE Moveset?! - Got A Minute? - Duration: 1:12.

Young Link is doubling down on the nostalgia, ladies and gentlemen, and compared to his

contemporaries, he's delivering the most classic portrayal of the hero in generations.

Although his last role as a protagonist was in Majora's Mask, and despite titles today

typically shining a spotlight on that appearance, Young Link takes his design cues from its

predecessor as noted by his Deku Shield and blue hookshot.

He's also the only Link to wield a different blade: opting for the Kokiri Sword over the

series staple.

In terms of fashion, he's seven years ahead of his time donning the Zora and Goron tunics.

There's plenty of original outfits in his wardrobe, too, but his white attire actually

draws inspiration from when the Blue Ring's equipped in the original Zelda.

Young Link's spin attack, boomerang, and bombs harken back to Ocarina of Time, and

while he wasn't able to fire arrows in that game, he could brandish a bow in Majora's Mask.

Regardless of where he takes the most references, though, you can't deny that Young Link knows

how to have a good time!

Hey there, pal.

Thanks for watching!

Are you curious about the differences between Young Link and his seafaring successor?

HOW TO BREATHE IN BUTTERFLY? HAND-RETURN AND BREATHING @ Swimmate - Duration: 10:51.

This is because both hands have done the stroke

and at this point are returning forward to start the next stroke

You probably already know that to make the hand return easier after the arm stroke

You need to improve the flexibility of your shoulders by doing dryland hand rotations

The majority of swimmers don't have good enough flexibility of the shoulders

and that's why, the hand return is so difficult for them

However, if you start doing rotations before getting into the pool to swim

over time, you'll find that your hand return has become much easier

While doing dryland exercises,

you can also do butterfly rotations leaning forward

as you can see in the video

This drill will imitate your hand return in the water

Remember to be relaxed when returning the hands forward

Also, don't turn your hands in the second part of the rotation

But keep your hands in the same position as in the end of the first part of the arm stroke

I will talk about the mistake that many swimmers do later in this video

In the first lesson we discussed

that rotation exercise with a rubber band

will help you to improve the flexibility of your shoulders

Remember to use an easy stretching band

Take a look at the swimmer in the video

while doing the exercise both shoulders rotate at the same time

Not one by one

For the next exercise you need to lay on the mat

and keep your hands near your legs

To start the exercise leave the back up as you do in the end of the arm stroke

Once it's done, you move your hands through the side and forward

At the same time you lower your back and leave the legs up

By doing this movement, you transfer your weight forward

This preserves the speed that you've gained and it will greatly ease your swimming

Once it's done,

you need to return your hands backwards

lower the legs down and lift up the back

By doing this exercise,

you will learn how to correctly do an important technical element

and your swimming will be smooth and easy

I will tell you how to do this movement in the water in the next lesson,

lesson number five

Dryland exercises and flexibility of your shoulders are crucial for correct hand return

By doing it on land, you can train the movements that are difficult to do in the water while swimming

The ease of your hand return will depend on how flexible your shoulders are

The more flexibility you gain in your shoulders

The easier it is for you to swim

The main goal of the hand return is to transfer the hands forward in order to start a new arm stroke

You already know that in butterfly the swimmer gains the maximum speed right after the arm stroke

However, it takes a lot of energy to perform the stroke

Therefore, correct and smooth movement of the body and legs will ease the work of the hands

While returning the hands forward, an important task for the swimmer

is to recover the arm muscles and to preserve the speed that they already have

During the arm stroke, you use your arms' muscles to perform the stroke

After the stroke, you return the hands forward

and the main point is to keep hands relaxed

and rotate only the shoulders for the hand return

Your hand and arm muscles should be relaxed to recover for the next arm stroke

Thus, the muscles perform the work in the water but in the air they recover

Some swimmers tries to return the hands to the forward position as fast as possible,

they throw the arms forward and keep them tense

By doing this, the muscles are always tense and they become tired very quickly

Another mistake which can be often seen,

is when swimmers stop and slow down the arm after an arm stroke

If you're not sure whether you have these mistakes

You can take a video of your swimming and compare it with the video of Alexander swimming in our lessons

This mistake occurs when the swimmer does the technical elements:

Arm strokes, kicks and body movements separately,

but not simultaneously, in other words, firstly the swimmer does an arm stroke

Then they do the breath

When the breath is done, they start to return their hands forward

The main reason for this mistake

is that the swimmer thinks about this element separately

This is why, their technique doesn't succeed

It is important to focus on performing all the elements with the correct technique

Firstly, the arm stroke

Then, immediately return the hands forward and at the same time take the breath

Once you start returning your hands forward without stopping after the arm stroke,

you will notice how much easy it is for you to swim

The hand return should start after straightening the arms after the arm stroke

and it should be done with straight and relaxed arms

Pay attention to the head position

From the third butterfly lesson, you learned the right position of the hand during the arm stroke

Let me remind you, your palm and inside part of the hand should be turned down

While the elbow and outer hand should be turned upwards

You should finish the arm stroke in this position

and for a correct hand return keep the hands in this position

Not turning them over in the air

This means that the thumb must be closer to the water surface than the little finger

Many amateur swimmers turn their hands during the return

which negatively affects the body position in the water

In this case, the shoulder and chest will open up and start directing upwards but not forward

Always remember to keep the hands in the same position as in the end of the arm stroke

While returning the hands forward, the swimmer should take a breath

For the correct breath, you should only lift your chin up

while keeping your back in a horizontal position with forward direction

In the end of the arm stroke, your back starts lifting up from the water to fly over water surface

Therefore, the back is above the water surface

and to breathe you don't actually need to do anything, but simply leave the chin up

You should start moving your chin up when finishing an arm stroke

Take a breath at the same time as returning the hands forward

and move your head down into the water before the hands enter the water in front of you

A common mistake is when a swimmers move not only they head up

but also the back and shoulders too

Doing this, a swimmer will rise to high above the water

Any additional movements up and down affect the swimming speed negatively

due to an increase in water resistance

Therefore, it is important to the smooth and effective movements to move forward

To train the horizontal position during the breath

You can swim taking a breath every second stroke

You must remember the body position you have when you don't breathe

and try to keep the same position during the breath

In the middle of the arm stroke

You should start breathing out the air you have stored in your lungs

in order to be ready to breathe in, after the arm stroke

After the breath, it is important to put your head back into the water before the hands enter the water

If you do as I suggest

Starting doing the breath immediately after the arm stroke

and returning relaxed hands to the forward position

You will have plenty of time to breathe in

and you will move the head down into the water at the right moment

The hand return should be done as far forward as possible

and the hands should enter the water at shoulder width

This will allow you to keep the speed, glide forward and get the right position for starting a new arm stroke

Also, think about stretching out your body and your movements in the water,

in order to achieve the long position that will help you with speed and glide

One mistake that is common is when swimmers put their hands into the water too widely

This slows down the speed and the hands position will be very bad for starting the next arm stroke

The arms are kept to white and such a position will not facilitate long and effective arm strokes

Gliding forwards also won't be possible

Therefore, to train correct butterfly technique

try to put your hands into the water at shoulder width

and as far as possible in front of you

At the moment, when hands enter the water, don't throw them into the water

Instead, slowly put them down

Often swimmers make the mistakes

that while returning their hands forward they try to move them as fast as possible

It makes the entire body tense and causes the hands to tire quickly

The hand return should be done with an average speed and with the relaxed hands

just a little bit above the water surface

How often do you like to breathe every stroke, every second or every third?

We'll discuss it in a later video

Like the video and subscribe to the channel!

Top 5 Scary Cthulhu Stories | The Monster Files - Duration: 9:28.

In his house at R'lyeh - dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.

The line first penned in H.P Lovecraft's 1926 short story - The Call Of Cthulhu, outlining

the machinations of a bizarre cult first found in the misty swamps outside of New Orleans

- worshippers of something beyond the comprehension of human power - Cthulhu - the High Priest

of the Great Old Ones - the Great Dreamer - the Sleeper of the Dead City of R'lyeh.

Well - we said he wasn't going to make any of our Lovecraftian Monsters list - but that's

because he's got a whole video to himself.

What's going on horror fans - and welcome back to this eldritch episode of The Monster

Files, right here on Top 5 Scary Videos.

As always - I'll be your humble host Jack Finch - as we once again light up the altar

- don our ceremonial garb - and take a look at the Top 5 Scary Cthulhu Stories.

Roll the clip.

Don't worry guys - that was just his avatar.

He's much, much bigger than that.

Now - granted, Cthulhu is only the eldritch horror that we know and love because of the

mystery that surrounds him, and his actual physical appearance only crops up once in

the Lovecraftian Mythos in The Call of Cthulhu.

But with mystery, comes an abundance of fear - and every time we hear Cthulhu's name

whispered in the works of Lovecraft - we understand the true depth of his cosmic horror.

Well - let's take a look shall we.

Kicking off at Number 5 - The Shadow Over Innsmouth

Which some would consider to be one of the most defining departures of the Cthulhu Mythos

- building on the majority of the Deep One themes established in Lovecraft's previous

short story - Dagon.

The Shadow Over Innsmouth is absolutely great - and delivers on Lovecraft's style of blending

shared-universe references, with mythology and hard history.

It also drew heavily on Lovecraft's own fear of mental degeneration - harkening back

to the tragic events of both of his parents dying in a mental institution - and the fear

of not being able to escape your own genetic fate.

This story, although - of course - Cthulhu is only ever alluded to - features the creepy

coastal town of Innsmouth, Massachusetts - and it's bizarre and otherworldly inhabitants.

Well, otherworldly in the sense that the townspeople have been breeding with fishmen for centuries,

offering human sacrifices to remain in good standing.

It fleshes out the concept of the Deep Ones - the custodians of Cthulhu, who maintain

his aquatic realm and the dead city of R'lyeh, living deep beneath the sea and emerging to

claim unsuspecting sacrifices for the Great Old One.

Coming in at Number 4 - The Trail of Cthulhu

Which - granted, is a series of interconnected short stories - by American author August

Derleth, a long time friend and colleague of Lovecraft, who would often flesh out the

Cthulhu Mythos - alongside other authors such as Lin Carter and Brian Lumley - who were

often dubbed the Lovecraft Circle.

If you've got some time to kill though - I'd definitely recommend reading the Trail of

Cthulhu - because it's worth it for the creepy, slow, sinking step into the wider

world of Cthulhu.

The Trail of Cthulhu is comprised of The House on Curwen Street, The Watcher from the Sky

- The Gorge Beyond Salapunco - The Keeper of the Key - and The Black Island.

It focuses on the character of Laban Shrewsbury - an anthropologist and professor of philosophy

at Miskatonic University, who pursues the ancient texts and scriptures of a mysterious

cult and makes it his life's work to combat and expose the Great Old Ones and their grotesque

followers.

It's cut and shut cosmic horror - wrapped up in an increasingly terrifying mystery - and

of course, there's no happy ending.

Next up at Number 3 - The Whisperer in Darkness

Which is a different dive of direction into the Cthulhu Mythos - at a time where Lovecraft

would focus more on science fiction and the scope of his universe, rather than mysterious

cults in mysterious towns - doing mysterious … things.

Besides that, though - The Whisperer in Darkness is perhaps Lovecraft's most startling example

of the futility of mankind against the cycles of the Great Old Ones and Outer Gods.

Also, it's like one huge - terrifying, cosmic mind-bending acid trip - and first alluded

to the bug-like, fungal alien brain stealing fanatics - the Mi-Go, which were a whole new

level in Lovecraftian horror.

But - what have they got to do with our boy Cthulhu?

Well, of course - he's their great, tentacled all powerful prophet.

The Whisperer in Darkness focuses on the character of Albert N. Wilmarth, a professor of literature

at the Miskatonic University in Arkham.

He gets wrapped up in the conspiracy of a group of monstrous beings in the foothills

of Vermont, exchanging letters with the mysterious Henry Wentworth Akeley - a man who claims

to know the extraterrestrial origin of those grotesque beings.

In the short story, Akeley states - I learned whence Cthulhu first came, and why half the

great temporary stars of history had flared forth.

Spoilers - it doesn't end well.

Swinging in at Number 2 - The Nameless City

First published in 1921 - Lovecraft noted that the idea for The Nameless City was based

on a dream - and in that case, it's no wonder that Lovecraft became the grandfather of cosmic

horror if he was having dreams like this.

As well as his bizarre dreams, it was also inspired on Edgar Rice Burroughs - At the

Earth's Core - focuses on the themes of alien races more powerful and more intelligent

than mankind - creating ancient civilizations lost deep beneath the Earth's crust.

The Nameless City describes the ruins of an ancient reptilian civilization, lost in the

desert sands of the Arabian Peninsula - older and more mysterious than any other on the

planet.

And why did they built such a massive, glorious city?

Well, of course - to worship the Great Old Ones and their High Priest.

It's always that, right?

The Nameless City is a terrifying yet easy read - and is the perfect way to understand

first hand the bizarre mystery that surrounds the Cthulhu Mythos.

It also features the mad Arabian poet himself, Abdul Alhazred - the author of the Necronomicon

and a crazed, fanatical character the heralds the terror of the Great Old Ones.

In it, he says one of my most favourite lines in the whole of Lovecraft's work - That

is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die.

And finally - at our Number 1 spot - The Call of Cthulhu

And of course - it has to be, the only time that we get to fully glimpse Cthulhu's grotesque,

fleshy head.

Not only that though - but an insanely well written horror story, and the perfect first

step for any Lovecraftian rookies.

The way that it grabs you with intrigue and slowly peels back the horror of the Great

Old Ones and the more powerful forces in the universe at play is one of my favourite components

of cosmic horror.

Part mystery, part manuscript - The Call of Cthulhu is written in documentary style, weaving

together three separate stories that slowly piece together the existence of Cthulhu himself

and his cult of followers.

The story features perhaps the perfect summise of Lovecraft's work in it's opening two

sentences.

-- The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind

to correlate all its contents.

We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it

was not meant that we should voyage far.

I don't want to ruin anything about The Call of Cthulhu - because if you've never

read it, there's a certain magic that comes with going into it completely blind.

It's terrifying, it's transfixing - and it's full of insanely grotesque tentacles,

which are the three core elements of anything and everything to do with Cthulhu.

Give it a read.

Well - there we have it folks, our eldritch episode of The Monster Files - the big boy

himself Cthulhu.

Before we depart, though I'd like to read out some of your greatest comments from over

the past few days.

First off - Dreamseeker says - Love your passion for Lovecraft Jack.

Well, much love Dreamseeker.

Some would say passion - others would say that I've been indoctrinated by the Esoteric

Order of Dagon.

Cthulhu fhtagn.

Jason Lescorbeau says - Plz explore the Necroscope book series.

So underrated!!

Lovecraftian vampires from another world?! - and nice one Jason, I've never actually

read the Necroscope series - but Brian Lumley is enough of a reason for me.

Lovecraftian vampires from another world - say no more.

And finally - Marcus says - I love the word eldritch.

Well - me too buddy, me too.

Maybe we should rename the channel to Top 5 Eldritch Videos?

Kinda got a ring to it.

Well unfortunately folks, that's all we've got time for in today's episode of The Monster

Files - feel free to hit that thumbs up button and show us some love in the comment section

down below.

As always, I've been your host Jack Finch - you've been watching Top 5 Scary Videos

- and until next time, you take it easy.

Classical Musicians React: Park Hyo Shin 'Sound of Winter' - Duration: 13:12.

James: Oh, oh.

J: Falsetto, oh.

I think I'm gonna cry.

[Rossini's Semiramide]

Umu: So now you're reacting to the famous Korean vocalist named Park Hyo Shin that we reacted to last year.

U: Now, you'll be reacting to his winter 2018 release called 'Sound of Winter'.

U: The song is about reminiscing towards someone precious that is no longer by your side and hoping the best for that person.

U: And it basically the song tries to portray the longing feeling that usually falls winter season,

U: and the song is actually a special gift for Park Hyo Shin's fans to beautify their winter.

U: This song is composed by Park Hyo Shin himself and arranged by Jung Jae Il.

U: Jung Jae Il worked with the Budapest Orchestra for the strings and choir.

U: Fun fact, the choir sings in Hungarian at the end of the song. Hugo: Oh sh*t son.

H: Uno, dos tres.

Elizabeth: Got those octaves.

James: Major third.

J: Oh.

E: It's just like the the the like drumline feels very little drummer boy, doesn't it? J: Yeah and the bell.

Charlotte: Think we're gonna have that low note pedal in the whole song. Peyton: Yeah, probably.

(singing)

C: I can't get that.

(singing) C: I can't do it.

James: Beautiful voice.

Elizabeth: Wow, do you hear the the sound the reverb he's got going there. J: Yeah, his voice is like resonant.

E: I don't know if they recorded in like a big room, but it sounds like you recorded in a big room

James: That's what you need with a ballad just a huge amount of reverb. Hugo: I was about to say, I'm digging the reverb, yeah.

Lindsey: That consistent timpani in the background that is so subtle it's like adding so much to it.

Fiona: It really does like a good bass.

L: It adds a subtle pulse that you wouldn't otherwise know.

James: Oh! That transition ooh, he's skilled that's great! Wow.

Kevin: Oh my god.

James: Oh~

J: Wow.

J: Oh, oh.

J: Falsetto, oh.

I think I'm gonna cry.

Kevin: Yeah Budapest Orchestra, let's go.

K: When he goes the high notes all the instruments go high as well, it's great.

James: Oh my god.

J: Yeah, you're right it does have aspects of...

J: like those olds. Hugo: Yeah, the old Christmas carols.

H: Part of it I think is the driving bass drum dum dum. J: With just that pedal tone-yeah.

Kevin: Oh there's a bass drum every two beats. There's a bass drum on top of the timpani.

Isaac: Ohh. K: Yeah.

Elizabeth: So I think more comforting than just like like a held straight note, you know.

E: Just that sound.

James: And again, we don't have a lyric video, so I have no clue what he's singing about, but it sounds really heartfelt.

J: Really heartfelt whatever it is.

Hugo: Oh, there's the choir.

Fiona: Oh, with that chorus there's just so much more depth to the sound and this song already has good level of depth with the timpani.

Peyton: Ooh, I like that. Okay, little sauce.

James: This reminds me of Narnia, it reminds me of the Narnia soundtrack, I don't know why.

Elizabeth: Oh, no I hear it. J: It's just a little it's it's epic. It's epic, it's great.

J: Just movie music really.

E: The choir and the like big hanging chimes. J: Yeah. E: That that was big in the Narnia soundtrack.

Fiona: This now could be like a princess movie. Lindsey: Yeah. F: Someone's being rescued.

F: I love that, that chime.

Isaac: It's gonna pick up. Kevin: I know, yeah, wait for that-

I: AH! YES! I was right! YEAH!

Peyton: Oh!

P: Ah!

Fiona: Oh, he's getting wiggly.

Lindsey: Yeah, his voice is really like...

L: round I don't know like what the right word is - because I don't want to say deep- full.

L: Full, there we go.

Kevin: Like the weird harmonic because the bell is not quite in tune but it's like basically in the pitch.

Isaac: That snare drum though.

James: Beautiful choir.

Elizabeth: Oh we eliminate your acoustic guitar in there.

Kevin: Why does this outro work. It's like it doesn't sound like an outro, I just want to keep on listening to it.

Peyton: I like the light snare.

James: It's so quiet.

J: It's so quiet.

Elizabeth: It's definitely more about atmosphere than it is about... J: Oh and they fade out. E: atmosphere and soundscape more than it's about melody.

J: I approve, okay, okay. Most of what I'm about to say is about his vocal technique. E: Take it away.

J: Impeccable like it was, it was so awesome.

J: First thing being that transit- that beautiful transition between you know belting in your chest voice and then

J: going up to falsetto. It was- it kept happening and not only was he able to facilitate that change

J: easily and and flexibly, is that a word?

J: With ease, I don't know. He was able to execute it so well,

J: but then his falsetto was so lush and beautiful as well. And then his tone, his timbre was beautiful and warm.

E: Yeah. J: And he, you know,

J: it was a very simple song not a lot crazy going on but he did start riffing and you know using melismas you know,

J: near the end. So that was nice because it shows that he can do that too. That's really important. Just overall it was

J: like 10 out of 10 and just the song itself. It was really cozy. It's so oddly refreshing

J: when simple music would just use dominant to tonic motion.

J: Maybe like a IV thrown in there, just simple dominant to tonic motion, it can be so effective.

J: You know, depending on the kind of texture you use the kind of instruments you use, it never gets old even though that's almost all we deal with,

J: you know tonic dominant.

E: Well yeah, I mean the reason that everybody likes the dominant to tonic function is because the, you know,

E: the traditional dominant chord that we have, it uses the seventh, the second, the fourth... J: And the fifth.

E: And yeah, the the fifth scale degree and between the seventh and the fourth scale degree is a tritone,

E: which is a really crunchy interval and it's an unstable interval and it wants to resolve,

E: so the seventh, which is the leading tone to the tonic, it wants to go up and the fourth wants to go down,

E: so that tritone in the dominant chord

E: is, it adds a lot of tension because of that unstable interval and it really

E: really makes your ear want it to resolve, which is why it is as popular as it is because it's a really really easy way

E: to build the tension and then release it

E: with the resolution. J: Yeah. E: But I mean, that's why it's effective. J: So effective.

Fiona: Dude, having that, the bum, bum bum, in the timpani at the beginning that just like really set the mood overall

F: I mean you think of Little Drummer Boy,

F: I don't know that's just like really set it up as like more orchestral. That was really cool,

F: and that made me feel Christmas vibes too.

Lindsey: Yeah, this piece of music was definitely like a

L: production effort because there were a lot of different parts to it and they all went together like

L: perfectly and you could tie

L: I mean the orchestra and the choir and all the different instruments that they had in there and the piano sounded great

L: and then the voice. There was just a lot. F: But a lot of intermingling. L: But it all blended together very, very well.

L: Yeah, you could tell that there was just a lot that went into that. F: Yeah.

Peyton: I think a lot of the progression stuff like it's very light. It's sort of like...

Charlotte: Like snow. P: Yeah, like reminiscent of like sleigh bells, you know,

P: so it kind of gives you that winter vibe, because like any time you hear like

P: there's only one thing in your mind- you know. It moves kind of like, I don't know,

C: Slowly? P: Yeah.

Kevin: It's just a very well-conceived track.

K: With a lot of heart put into it, a lot of great production and mixing and great instrumentations,

K: I just love the percussion section how it utilizes all of the the clangs and bells and

K: glockenspiels or I don't even know if that- there's probably there's a glockenspiel in there at some point

K: but then you also have like the bass drum and the timpani and you hear the hi-hat and the snare

K: and it's all so well integrated but it still manages to sound so sparse

K: and again, then the piano sound is is one that I highly approve of.

Isaac: 6/8 K: I would call it a 6/8 adagio. It doesn't sound- it wouldn't be a 3/4. I: It's too fast.

I: Yeah hearing like songs go in 6/8 it's very,

I: different compared to the traditional 4/4 so it's likely they have a lot to work with in with a 6/8 meter.

I: Yeah, his voice is just like man. In those situations where you don't really have much to work with,

I: it's like you use build up and then you climax and then you just kind of expect it to be a modulation

I: but because it's so well

I: crafted in each one of the corners that they're going for it's like unexpected but expected so you have both,

I: you have both. K: Like you expect it, but you're satisfied when it happens. I: Yes, that's that's yeah, that's correct.

I: That's exactly what I was gonna say.

Umu: Hello everyone. I'm Umu and I'm the channel runner of ReacttotheK.

And always in charge

Megan has goes to their own father

Since she married Prince Harry in May

Mr. Markle texts everyday and has sent letters to

The Kensington Palace

What is heard nothing

Reclusive 74 year old hopes

That the queen will now intervene at Sandringham over Christmas

How to repair the fissure in the Markle family

Mr. Markel believes his daughter's first child due next April

Broken soften Rift

And still hopes to meet his grandchild

Megan cut off contact with her

Her father after he failed to walk her down the aisle

And his rib us all his attempt

To make contact

With her since the

But Mr Markel hopes

The birth of her child

We'll break down the barrier

I think she will make a great mom

And I would really appreciate

If she would call me

Just reach out to me

There has to be a place

I'm here

She knows I need her to reach back to me

Question by Piers Morgan

Mr. Markle denied Megan had a tendency to dumb people

If she had no use for them

Saying that's really not a character

Nitrate

She's always been very polite to everyone

Never been rude to anyone

I don't know what's really happening right now

Mr. Markle said

My daughter lived with me from the age of 11 all through Middle School

And high school until she went off to college

We're very close

What's

I'm not sure

I'd love to talk about

I think it comes back to the fact

That reporters pick up on interviews I've done

And write their own stories and tell lies

Sea Island

If they are believing that

That's unfortunate

They've always told me not to believe any

Mr. Markle has been cut off by his daughter

A new son-in-law and said recent

Murderers are not punished like I've been

Mr. Markle appeared on GMB over the summer where the recluse claimed

That Harry had said he was open to brexit

And that people needed to give Trump a chance

He also said

Did Megan kept the fact

That she was dating Harry Secret at first

Asking her father to refer to him by the code name H

And the Carrie had already popped the question to His Daughter by the time he asked

For her hand in marriage by phone

And when he did Megan was also on the line

He said he gave his permission

For the couple to win

As long as Harry promise never

To raise his hand against his daughter

And was grateful to

The Charles for stepping in when he was forced

To pull out of giving his daughter away due to heart surgery

But admitted he felt jealous

Kensington Palace declined to comment on the interview or the astonishing claims

But there is little doubt

Set the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex

Six have again been left humiliated by the continuing Markle family soap opera

Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan confirmed that Megan's father had pocketed a few thousand pounds

But insisted his ultimate motive was not money

He claimed Mr Markel had turned down significantly higher offers from the US media

But shows the British program is he wanted the proper chance

To put across his side of the story

Mr. Marco's decision

The sellout will be frustrating for Palace officials who

After a dramatic run up to the royal wedding

Managed to pull off an extremely successful Global event

And had no doubt hope to see the back of any further Markle family revelation

The fact that Mr Markel chose not to discuss the interview beforehand with his daughter

Is likely to be seen by many as suggesting that relationship

Is fractured in the extreme

Royal sources have maintained

However they have done everything they can to help and guide mr. mark

And say he is a proud man who finds it difficult to accept assistance

From his daughter

Thanks you for watching

Please feel like

Kem share with you feel the video is useful

And don't forget to leave your thoughts in the comments section below

Meghan Markle

Still cannot trust her father after yet another tabloid end of you

Meghan markle's father

Thomas Markle

Is getting sentimental for the holidays

On Saturday

The duchess's father gave an interview with the mail on Sunday and which he shared several handwritten cards his daughter

I had given him for the holidays over the years

Which is marked as recently as Christmas 2015 reads

Because you have always been so generous with me and taking the best care of me

It brings me so much joy to be able to give you this this Christmas

I love you to no end

The card is signed

And $2,000 was reportedly and closed

Thomas Markle who's seemingly endless

Thai royal family is once again ignoring the most is for him to stop talking

In addition to sharing the letters with a Mayo

He described in detail the way to get in touch

And work in a few days by Prince Harry has passed and it's not exactly

I pleaded with her to pick up the

The phone

Her2 case letter and send it by certified mail

I asked her why she was believing

I also pointed out the Royals

But I've never played pool naked

Nor have I dressed up as a Nazi opening bracket

Pictures in Las Vegas in 2012

And the time that he wore crude imitation of a Nazi uniform

Including a SWAT

Stuka armband

In 2005

Closing bracket

I even hand-delivered a letter to daughter asking her why our daughter won't speak to me

He adds that despite his efforts

He has been met with a Stony silence

Michael

However

Doesn't mention the number of interviews he's done with press are the photos that his other daughter

Samantha

Stage left hand before the royal wedding

He mentions

He had delivered a note to Doria Ragland

Who is Ben said to be the only person who can make these happen between her daughter and her father

A friend close to Megan says that

Once again

Thomas Markle Zephyr

To make a connection through the Press have likely

Fired

I understand there has been one conversation between

When Megan made it clear that they

They could only have a relationship if he kept

How to silence

Different told Vanity Fair

She told him that he couldn't speak to the Press

Plain and simple

But he keeps doing that

And so she feels that she cannot trust him

The friend continued

She has also said if they are to have a relationship

Then he has to cut off contact with the rest of his family including Samantha

Plans for a lot of the problems with her father

Whatever Samantha has done

She is still Thomas

His daughter

So that to hardcore

And as for speaking to the Press

He says he doesn't know how else to get Megan's attention

Thomas Markle reveals real reason behind Meghan Markle

Thomas Markle is out here doing what he does best / worst

Appearing on yet another talk show.

I'm her father

Thomas said he text Megan everyday

And issued a statement to her directly just in case she was watching

I love you very much

I would like to hear from you

Whatever difficulties we've had I hope we can work through them

What time is it

So we can all agree that Thomas continuing to do these interviews is a big part of the problem

Some of what he said was pretty heartbreaking

Specifically his well wishes for Megan pregnancy his play for the queen

I would be grateful for anything she can do

Jagged Alliance: Rage | review and gameplay (English subtitles) - Duration: 3:46.

Lately more and more frequently developers try to revive well known game series in hope that their loud names can play into the hands.

But experience shows that everything goes exactly the opposite.

And Jagged Alliance Rage in sont an exception, which caused JA fans the same rage.

Are thing so bad? Lets see

With its ancestor Jagged Alliance Rage has almost nothing similar.

However, the developers doesnt call it sequel or JA 3, but just a spin-off

The plot of the game is unsophisticated and full of stereotypes:

an isle, guerillas and rebels, mad villain and secret experiments...

In the very beginning you are offered to choose 2 out of 6 mercenaries

each has his unique perks and disadvantages, which affect game style.

During the game you can reinforce your squad with few more soldiers.

The gameplay itself is classic turn-based tactical strategy with switching between missions on the global map.

But JAR lost most of the main Jagged Alliance series aspects.

Global strategy is abcent and switching between missions is quite linear and can be variated just to a small degree.

Also there is no economic aspect too - mercenaries work for free and no trade system in the game.

But the game gets 'fashion' survival elements like thirst, immunity and possibility to get sick due of dirty water and nonsterile bandages

At some moment I thought that 'JA Rage' is just a ported mobile game - everything really looks quite poor a little

small maps, not really long campaign, rough graphics and quite simple game mechanics with low depth.

And AI sometimes surprises...

But in the other hand it somehow draws -

the game is simpe to learn and doesnt require too much in terms of strategy and planning.

It doesnt make you plan hundred steps ahead or to replay one combat for many times.

Good choise for a beginner in the tactical strategy genre.

And as I mentioned before, the main problem of the game is its name.

If you dont consider the game as Jagged Alliance and do not compare with previous games, 'Rage' isnt really bad.
