What's up everyone? And welcome to Ola's FAQ number 65 and...
Look at these.
Remember when I bought some mouse pads from Wish?
I finally received them, so we're gonna do an unboxing right here right now, first time ever Ola unboxing.
Oh, Ola unboxing... yeah.
Also, before I start this video and start talking... I've already started talking.
Before I talk to you guys, I just want to do a little disclaimer.
Saying that if you're easily offended, please stop watching right now
and maybe I'll see you in the next video, ok? Good.
Could you stop?
No, I did not... oh, there it is.
Look at this mouse pad, oh my goodness.
I bought this for my wife.
Ooh, that feels actually really nice.
I'm gonna put this by her desk, I think she'll be really happy with this. Ok.
Ok, where's mine?
Oh my goodness in the world...
There's my new mouse pad.
I like how you see a little redness... anus redness here...
So you can kind of imagine that it's an actual anus there.
Good, already demonetised video, great.
Wow, that actually feels really good. Perfect, Ola... what else?
Alright good... Oh, look at that.
Plus one.
Great, I like how this FAQ started, it's on the most positive side ever.
Good coffee, too, first question.
Suoi Idl: "how to fight laziness?"
Well...
Easy peasy, if you feel like you don't want to get out of bed in the morning...
You feel like 'ugh, why should I go out of bed when I can sit here and watch Reddit all day on my phone?'
what I do... and it's actually pretty good to have kids
because they need to get to school and to daycare so I have to go up
I've always been the guy that, you know...
I set the alarm clock and when it sets I make sure to get up and just get on with it, you know?
The problem is when you snooze
Because then the rest of the day is gonna be awful basically, so...
just go up, make your coffee, you know, sit down...
Start working right away and I know it's a hurdle and it's kind of like a bump there
You want to go over the hump where it's, you know, just so hard and it's just easier to be lazy
I promise you, if you just start with something just pick up the guitar or whatever
just start with something, you know, do some push-ups
Cock push-ups, or arm push-ups is probably better...
just do something that's not just sitting in the couch
and you'll get some energy for the rest of the day, I promise it works... for me.
"People need to buy more Ola merch so Ola can afford new socks"
Oh, yes, so I had a hole in my sock in my latest FAQ and people reached out to me and were worried about me
and I really appreciate it, thank you so much, and yes...
You should definitely buy my merch
if you're in the US and some European countries you can probably see down underneath here the t-shirts.
You can buy them, Yyu can make me very happy, okay?
And all the other people that are not seeing the t-shirts down here, you can go to a link in the description
It's down there, thank you so much, okay.
Brainrust... I really appreciate you guys being so caring.
"You still haven't answered my question for the past three FAQ, unsubscribing.
Azrul666
Oh... okay.
Just don't let my merch hit you on the way out.
Azrul... what the hell is this? Oh it's a guitar pick.
Do you see this by the way? I'm wearing two microphones today.
I'm using two Røde microphones actually, I'm using one that's picked up by my iPhone
That's the way I've always been using it.
And then I have this nice little pack... look at my ass right there
Female subscribers coming in...
So, I have this belt pack that's connected directly to my camera.
So, I'm just testing the audio quality here, that's why you can hear me in stereo right now.
okay, this is the iPhone Røde and this is the camera Røde.
So, we'll just have to see which sounds best, I guess.
"273k subs, you are probably gonna reach 300k in early 2019, maybe even sooner if you keep the vids coming"
StefanoKFC
So, I know I'm reaching 300k subscribers and to be honest it's been crazy the past months
I've been putting a lot of effort into my channel and a lot of content out there and it actually paid off
You know, I've been gaining... I think I had like 150...
or 160 or 170 thousand subscribers in the beginning of the year.
Now I have 270.
So, basically my channel has never grown this quick as it's doing right now
So there's a lot of new subscribers out there, I love you guys, I still love you old guys as well.
That's why I bought this little thingy right here, so we can check the live subscribe count live.
So you can see if it's decreasing or if it's adding subscribers during this FAQ
So I'm looking forward to it, it's gonna be awesome.
So we can be part of 300k together... oh, sexy moments.
azumbi: "Hello Ola, here my FAQ number one ever.
"How old are you now actually? You looked damn old dude."
People and their f***ing assholery.
Well, azumbi, if it is your real name, you look like a f***ing dork in this picture.
Don't go hate on this guy, just give hime straight love
I am sure he meant to have this comment...
I don't know what he meant, f*** you.
DraculVaDomni: "Anybody care to donate money for Ola to buy new socks for Christmas?"
Oh, thank you so much, you don't have to. Just buy my merch, it's down there.
It's almost like buying socks and if you don't like buying merch, you can buy merch...
and just throw it away.
It would still be supportive.
"Ola, I'm thinking of buying a Randall Satan. Would it be okay with you if I used it for gigs?"
Someguy528
I think it's fine.
You don't need my permission to use something you buy just because it has my name on it, okay?
Randall Satan is for everyone to use.
Yeah, I just thought it was a weird question, why would you not...
I could sit here and be all super cocky and all, but...
I'm not gonna celebrate until I'm at half a million, okay?
Nick Fierman: "Hola Ola, so I just got the Svart guitarist edition
"and I noticed that all the D ice and rock tracks are all a half hour long or os, with all the songs in one track.
"Just curious if the album was tracked and mixed that way all in one session file
"or if that's just how you set it up for the guitarist edition?
"It's an interesting idea I'd like to try out but I don't think my computer could handle it haha."
Okay, so maybe I can show you... Oh...
F***ing hell, this ass feels amazing, this is really...
Remove that, Louise, if you're editing this.
It's very common for me to record a full album
or have a song project file, which can be like an hour long.
Which basically means that I have all the songs in one project and I...
I like to have it that way because then I can jump in and out of songs really quick
because I can record something for one song and like 'Hey, that might be a really cool thing for this'
and I go there to that song and do that, so I'm gonna show you what's up.
So, right now I'm adding all the raw tracks that he that he talked about from my album Svart
So tha- Sodar, Swedish word of the day, sodar, there you go basically, sodar.
We have here a whole bunch of raw tracks and if you listen to them...
So, what you're hearing right now is basically the raw tracks of the album
And as you can see here the whole project is 35 minutes long and I have song 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
I never mix in this way, but I do track this way.
Just for listening purposes, I do like a quick mix of everything and then I track everything to this
It's a good way for me to jump back and forth between songs and I like having everything loaded up like this.
Wah-wah.
So I can jump between songs like this.
So that's what happens.
When you buy like the guitarist edition of the albums this is what you get.
So, the raw tracks are usually set up like this as a whole project while the stems are song by song basically.
So, there you go. Did I teach you something today? Maybe I did.
Eros di Miele: "Ola, give me 5"
High five.
"Ola, next FAQ video question."
I'm shouting, because it's in caps lock.
"What is your opinion about progressive metal and djent, for example Periphery, Dream Theater, Nevermore, etc."
Djent is Periphery, I like periphery, I've already said that but maybe you're a new subscriber, you don't know.
Dream Theater, a very big influence of mine that I listen to since 1997.
First album I heard was falling into infinity, then I fell in love with all the earlier albums...
And Nevermore... started listening to them around Dead Heart in a Dead World, and I totally love them.
I'm not sure I would put the genre progressive metal onto Nevermore.
I think it's just straight-up metal, but I don't know.
I like all these bands, Dream Theater and Nevermore are very important influences for me during my earlier years.
That's like 2016.
"Hi Ola, what's the riff you wish you had written? And can you make it riff of the day?"
"By the way, any plans for a UK tour with either Feared or The Haunted?"
from andygerbill
UK tour.
We are planning, but not with Feared, with The Haunted.
So... maybe an announcement soon? I don't know... we're coming.
That's a good little thing there, we're coming, but I have no idea when.
Okay, a riff I wish I had written...
You know, I...
Long time no burp.
I think one riff that I wish I had written and a riff that was like... blew my mind back in the day...
...was the riff from Mouth for War, I think I've already made that the riff of the day, but it goes like this...
Let's just crank it up.
But I think I've already had that riff of the day, so I might have to make another riff of the day the riff-of-the-dayrer
"Hey Ola, I've been a fan of you since the beginning of Feared and recently I also subscribed to your channel.
"Yes, I pay money to see you do stuff I actually don't do myself
"now my question: I played guitar when I was 16 (now I'm 32 and really sucked at it
"mainly because I'm left-handed and played on the right-handed guitar
"because the left-handed was too expensive
"Do you think I'm too old to learn to play?
"Because most people I see here started when they were very young
"Well, even if I don't pick up a guitar in the future, I'll stay a member of your channel, keep up the burping."
See? This guy, thomas duyck...
He understands, he's a member of my channel...
He's just a great guy. I know it... just by reading this, I know he's a great guy.
Okay, it's never too late to start to play guitar, okay? It's never too late.
It's all about having fun and you're gonna have so much fun when you get into guitar playing, I promise.
And it's something really rewarding about learning guitar.
It's challenging, yes, but it's so rewarding.
Being able to play guitar is some sort of a freedom of musicality.
Musicality, so I mean, if you have even some type of musical ideas, I mean, I can't sing for shit
but I can play guitar and make a piece of music using my guitar.
Making music is one of the best things in the world.
Being proud about your own music is one...
...one of the best feelings in the world.
Second to getting a new subscriber on my youtube channel, no but...
If you're not playing guitar, but thinking of starting...
but you're contemplating if you're gonna start or not, just start already, it's so much fun.
I love guitar playing and even though it seems like the guitar community is f***ed up
because it is, the people are f***ed up.
It's not really, I mean, I'm here for you, and I'm not f***ed up.
Ola preaching shit.
"Hola Ola, you get so many questions, but no one ever asks you... how are you doing?"
Holy shit... Evan Cosman, god damn it.
Thank you so much for asking me that question, I... what?
What?
What the hell?
Who was that? Was that the burp?
Sad sad moment in my FAQ video... Alright, so but...
I'm doing really really good right now... you know what?
I'm working my ass off every day
But I work my ass off every day, because I love it.
My situation is... I could not ask for anything else.
I mean, I have an apartment that I live in and that I'm happy in
where I have my stuff, where I can record my videos
I have my family in the same apartment... And you know, I have a wife that I love so much
best friend in the whole world.
And I also have two wonderful, wonderful kids that are sometimes assholes
but you know what? My situation right now is amazing.
I feel really well, that's why... in the latest FAQ someone said I looked sad.
I'm not sad, I'm probably like one of the happiest guys in the world right now
because you know, I'm free.
I feel free from bullshit.
I just found a really good way for me to live my life.
It gives a feeling o freedom.
So thank you so much, I'm feeling excellent, and I hope you see that in the video and...
Ass, shit I forgot about that, it feels amazing I must say, this ass.
I mean now when I have this ass right here...
I cannot ask for anything else...
I cannot ass for anything else.
Thank you so much Evan Cosman, that's a high-five for you right there.
Joey Sturgis Tones: "Guitar will never die."
Okay, take it a little easy there, Joey Sturgis Tones.
Joey Sturgis Tones by the way, a great brand.
I think you're stalking me a little bit too much. Do you want my followers? I understand.
But don't just scream at me like that, it's unnecessary.
What's up Joey by the way? I forgot to say that.
It's probably not Joey, it's probably their social media marketing team.
that's in there making comments on my YouTube and my Instagram
but it's fine, I'm okay with that, I see what you're doing.
Trying to steal my subscribers... no, it's fine.
I'm just pulling everyone's leg right now.
TremourSphere: "How do you rate Axe FX vs Kemper or do you prefer real amps?"
Well, I've actually had this question many many times
but, since I have 150,000 new subscribers, I should probably answer it again.
It's all about what you'd use the piece of gear for.
Personally, I prefer real amps, because...
I get the real amp thing in response, from playing an amplifier through a cabinet
and you get movement of the speakers and it just sounds awesome.
That's the way she should be but for convenience, I really...
...appreciate Axe FX, and Kempers and products like that.
And I think that at this moment... like even this plugin is really convenient
I just plug in my guitar into my audio interface and that's it, I have a sound that sounds pretty f***ing gnarly.
And you know what? That is very convenient for me to just be able to do that.
Convenience-wise, I rate their the Axe FX and the Kempers way higher than the tube amps
Because you know, taking a tube amp and a cabinet with you is not good for your back.
You don't fly with shit like that, you use backlines and stuff.
And when I have a backline available, I'll use a real tube amp and a cabinet
but I still think that Axe FX and Kemper are products of their own catergory
which I definitely see a need for and I know a lot of people who started playing guitar
they've never played a tube amp, they've started with stuff like this, modellers and shit.
All good products, just to keep you playing guitar.
I'm happy about that, but I still prefer to use real amps for reamping and stuff like that.
It's just mwah I just love real amps, but I still love the other stuff as well.
Just Ola trying to be a politician about things.
"Hey Ola, are you cirumcised?"
diceMEass
No, because you know, in Sweden we actually don't cut baby penises as a hobby.
So no, I'm not circumsized.
LifelessSatellite: "Another great FAQ
"Also, after hearing your praise of the game, Hollow Knight is currently downloading, can't wait to dive in.
"7.49$ US on PSN."
Yes... Oh f***ing hell, okay, someone's at the door, I have to get it, it's probably something...
Yes, more shit, I like shit, shit is my friend, another package.
Just batteries and shit.
Alright, so regarding Hollow Knight: Oh my god.
I wrote this on Facebook, I think Hollow Knight might be like on my top 5 games of all time.
Wow, I mean I'm a very big fan of like the metroidvania type of games, which is 2D.
So this is Hollow Knight on Switch here, it's also available on other platforms
but oh shit, this is amazing game, it's really challenging, it's long...
It's just an immense game, but it's so rewarding and the vibe is just... Oh, you know, it's...
It's so good. I completely love this game. How far into the game am I? I'm 100% right now.
101% actually, you can go to 112.
It's just... if you're into 2D games and platformers...
Even if you're not, this is just a really challenging and awesome game
The soundtrack is amazing and I recommend playing it with headphones
because the whole experience is just whoa.
It's immersive... is that even a word? I don't know.
It brings hope to your world, thank you.
Djackson 5: "Ola, what kind of external hard drive do you use? And what do you look for in a good external?"
Wow
Congratulation, I think you just won the prize for the absolute most boring question ever.
Holy shit, because you ask so calmly I'm gonna let you know.
It's a boring question, but I have a boring answer for it as well.
For video editing I'm using these portable SSD drives
that are... these are the fastest that are out there and I just hook it up straight into my iMac...
Oh, it's not an iMac, oh there you go, it's a Mac Mini, sorry.
So I just hook it there and I use these two for video editing
and these are really fast and...
just perfect for 4k video editing.
And then, after that, I have this, which is a LaCie, this is a big drive.
And It's basically like 16 terabytes.
This is where I keep all my backups, all my shit and then I have a 12 terabyte down here as well
which is also my time machine.
because you need a backup of your backup, because otherwise you lose all your shit.
So there you go, good question...
Not.
Susan Flowers: "Ola, I might be strange for a woman, but I love it when men burp.
"Can we have a few belches? Do it for the girls, hashtag."
I'm not too sure that that all women like burps, I don't think that has ever worked for me...
... in a dating situation.
Okay, that was weak.
Anthony termine: "Hi, Ola, I wrote you a-"
Pretty good.
"Yo Ola, does your poop sink-"
Ugh, no.
"You look like Rasputin."
Wasn't he like the guy who had all the ladies?
And all the guys back in the day? I don't know... I... Thank you.
"Hi Ola. Why did the blind guy fall in the well?
"He couldn't see that well."
That's good... it's really good actually.
"Hi Ola, just wondering, what program do you use to edit?"
I'm using Final Cut Pro X, been using it for a lot of years, very happy.
It's all that I need at least, so there you go.
Vixen Vendetta: "Ola, will Kemper kill off all the big amp companies in the future?"
No, I don't think Kemper will kill off all the big amp companies.
I think the big amp companies are going to kill themselves.
What I'm saying is that...
It's it not just Kemper, but seeing how all these products become more and more convenient
with plugins and you know modelers and all stuff like that.
Things are gonna get smaller.
There's no real escape from things getting better and better and smaller and smaller.
and I don't think that...
Amplifiers will not die, but I think sales of new amplifiers will definitely decrease even more than it has today.
And it's... yeah.
What am I gonna say? Amps are gonna die, some of them are gonna stay, I'm gonna keep amps.
I know a lot of people are gonna keep amps, some will probably buy new tube amplifiers.
Maybe even hybrids will become more of a thing, but I see definitely amplifiers dying.
I mean, guitar is not dying, because you still need a guitar, amplifiers, tube amplifiers, it's on the decline.
For sure.
"Ola, do you like Devin Townsend?Strapping Young Lad?"
Robert Paterson
You know, I've had friends that listen a lot to Devin Townsend, you know, like they told me
'Oh, you should check out Ocean Machine, you know, Strapping Young Lad, check them out'
And I listened to them and it was like... yeah, it's good
It's good, but it never really became more for me than that.
But I think the best album that I actually listened to a lot was Epicloud
I don't know when it was released was it 2012 maybe?
I like that album a lot.
I've always been more of a fan of the person Devin Townsend, more than his music.
I think that back in the day when these albums came out and my friends wanted me to listen to them
I was so much into, you know, Dream Theater and Nevermore
and I guess Devin Townsend never stuck to my liking.
I enjoyed the songs, but I never really listened that much to him.
And about Strapping Young Lad, I like the songs that they made
I listened to them and it's like badass, and whenever I hear them, yeah, that's an instant recognition
But it's never been as much of an inspiration for me than a lot of other bands for instance.
Devin townsend as a person... amazing guy, I've been able to spend some time with him.
It was actually, I think it was at NAMM like 3 years ago. I met him, like early morning.
I think it was like 9 o'clock before everything opened.
The NAMM floor was basically empty
and I met him there and we just walked around at empty NAMM just talking, trying shit...
You know, so it was a nice experience.
I really like that guy and just his way of life, I would say.
He's an awesome guy.
I just thought... Oh, that's Devin Townsend, thank you so much, Devin.
No, but I need to listen more to his music for sure... When I go to Indonesia next time.
I think it's now in December...
I'll listen to his shit so I can get into it, okay?
Swedish word of the day, excellent excellent word
It goes back to what I said in the beginning of the video, if you are easily offended or not.
The word is 'Lättkränkt'.
Lättkränkt means 'easily offended'.
For an example, like...
Like, that son of a bitch is easily offended.
There you go great Swedish word of the day, I thank my wife for that one.
She suggested it, great name.
Jason Mercier: "Will you please run a HM2 through the effects loop?"
Okay.
F***ing hell.
Oh that sounded like ass, let me plug it into the front then.
There it f***ing is.
There you go, Ola Englund, the Swede.
I have no idea how that sounded by the way.
Alright, so there you go. That's the FAQ number 65 for you.
Do I have something to say? No... You can become a member.
Awesome, become a member, pay more.
If you liked this video, please put a like
and be sure to subscribe my channel as well.
I see that a lot of you... we have to, we have t-
We have to reach 300k subscribers, okay?So please help me out. Help a guy out.
And also yeah, for the next FAQ, let us only have questions from females, okay?
And before you go like 'Oh, Ola, you f***face, all female questions'
'Well, you f***ing asshole, females don't need more attention in this world.'
F*** yes they do, okay?
So, if you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend-girlfriend or a a shemale friend or whatever
even if you have your own female account...
Something like you're a male guy having a female account.
So I will only pick out female questions for the next FAQ, I think it could be really interesting.
And before you unsubscribe...
Ola Englund, see you.
[In Swedish] What the f*** is this?
