CHIT CHAT Q&A GRWM| PLASTIC SURGERY, YOUTUBE TIPS, & LETTING GO IN 2019 - Duration: 33:32.

Hey Youtube Fam! It's your girl Lia back again with another video and today's

video as you can see from the title is just a chitchat get ready with me video.

Now I asked you guys to ask me questions on both IG and YouTube. I did it on the

community tab on the YouTube page. So if you're not familiar with the community

tab it's where people post polls and pictures and all that. So if you missed

out just keep an eye on that community tab. I also asked it on my IG so if

you're not following me on IG please do @lialavon89 and you guys went ham on

the questions. I know for a fact I'm not gonna be able to get through most of

them but I'm gonna try to get through a majority of them. And if you guys want to

see me transform from this to something just keep watching. Now again like I said

I asked you guys to ask me questions and I didn't anticipate you guys asking me

so many. So I'm gonna try to go through them and answer them as fast as I can.

Not be long-winded so I can get through the most of them. Now I'm going to list

down below every product I use.

In a lot of these to chit chat get ready with me's

you guys are like you need to go through your products. I list everything down

below but I will talk about them as I'm using them as well. For brows you already

know the deal it's the NYX micro brow pencil in chocolate. The first question

is... Do you wash your crochet on vaycay? How do you dry underneath? Um I have. Not

every vaycay do I get my hair wet or need to wash it but I have. And what I

use to dry up underneath is of course a blow dryer. So I let the crochet hair air

dry and I use a blow dryer for my hair up underneath. So what I mean is I hold

it and kind of get in between like this. Because of course you don't want your

hair to get mildew dewy so you want to use a hair dryer. Sometimes I take mine

with me depending on the hotel or where I'm staying. Um there is a blow dryer in the

room. So for example I went on my cruise lately. Um I brought my own blow dryer just

in case I got my hair wet but there is blow dryers in the room for you. Next

question what is the key to making sure that your crochet braids do not damage

your hair specifically the area where you? And I apologize because this was on

IG and I just screenshot it and I didn't

actually click on it. So I can't see what the rest of it says but what I do is I

don't know specifically the area but I'm going to say specifically for like my

edges and all that what I do is I make sure that the edge area isn't braided

down. So a lot of people start their braids like I guess right here. So it's

like literally from your edge to the back. So there's no hair kind of right

here. So as you guys can see my braids kind of start maybe like a little bit

back. So there's a good amount of and as you can see on this side too. Edges are

all out and my braids are not super tight which is a good thing and a bad

thing. I guess it's a bad thing if you want your hair to last a kind of as long

as possible. But it's a good thing for me because I

don't really want tight braids. I'm not tender-headed so we don't hurt me

anything but again I just feel like the less amount of tension on your hair is.

There's a such thing as tension alopecia. So I don't want to ever

experience that. So I don't want my braids to be super tight. So I'd go for

super not tight braids but not loose braids and then at the same time I don't

have any kind of braiding up from here. That's why I don't go to professionals

to get my crochet braids done. It's just because I can't gauge how tight somebody

braids and in my experience people be braiding tight. Now cleaning up on my brows

I'm using the mac studio finish concealer and NC 42 as well as the La

girl pro conceal. Today I just grabbed warm honey. Again I switch between which La

girl Pro concealer I use for cleaning up my brows. I've said that in a video

before. I sometimes use fawn. Sometimes use almond. It just really depends on

what I grab. So next question is what is your favorite thing about being a

youtuber. I'd say my favorite thing is about helping people. My channel isn't

like one of those prank channels or reaction channels or all that. My

channel is kind of more so along the lines of helping you guys save your coin

and I'm very enthusiastic about that. I spend my coin sometimes so you guys

don't have to. Again like I said I'm not really a prank channel. I don't really

vlog my life. I'm somebody who's really trying to help you guys out there. So

that's what I'm very proud of and that's my favorite thing kind of about

being a youtuber is the messages and the many comments that say hey you helped me. I

do not buy anything without watching your video. Which I'm like okay take a chance

sometimes. You can buy something without watching me but again I'm so glad that a

lot of you guys do really trust my opinion. Will you ever move out of state?

Um that's a good question. Um I think if you asked me this maybe eight years ago it was

like oh yeah I'm getting out North Carolina. Yeah I will be on that highway,

That I9 by nine. I'm going to be out of here and now I think as I'm

getting closer to 30 I think that I don't see a reason to. I think North

Carolina has its benefits. It's two hours from the beach. Two hours from the

mountains. The weather is perfect. I mean it could be you know a little bit warmer. I

could go you know down to somebody's Miami and probably have a different

experience but weather isn't too bad. I'm not you know depths of coldness right

now. Today it's winter it's December and we're in the sixties so good weather. I

think we have amazing schools. Not just like higher education schools like we

have North Carolina State of course. We have Chapel Hill. We have Duke. We have

Wake Forest. We have North Carolina Central. We have North Carolina A&T. We

have Appalachian State University. I could go on. The list goes on about all

the great schools we have in this state. So for my future generation my kid's

gonna be set if they decide to go to college with the college choices that

they have. Public schools depending on the area are really good as well. So I

think long term when I think about it we just have so many benefits in North

Carolina. Now I may move around in the state but I think overall North Carolina

got my heart. Do you think you'll ever try a tappered crochet and PS girl we

waiting on that vlog. As I'm recording this right now the vlog isn't up but as I'm

posting this the vlog should be up. So make sure you go check out my Bahamas

vlog. Thank You girl for this question. Now for the tapered short cut. I don't

know. One I can't cut so if I ever get a taper short cut it ain't gonna be done

by me. Gonna be butchered. It's gonna be probably blunt cut. It ain't gonna look good.

But for me I think me with short hair and you guys have said this a plenty of

times when I've tried to rock a short wig or short anything. Y'all be like the

short style ain't for you girl. It's just not for you. We're not feeling it girl.

Take it away. We don't want this. So I don't know. Maybe

I'll do it for an experiment and maybe for a good laugh-ey-de laugh but you guys have let me

know short and me don't really go together. Now for the kind of lettingmy brows

stay in place I'm going to use the Maybelline gel the clear gel that I love

to use. As well as my ELF wax. My brows are pretty well defined as you guys

could see prior but the thing about them is that by the end of the day they like

to go all over the place. They like to kind of fray up. I have a brow kind of

sticking down type of a situation and I like to use a wax because it does really

help. It helps me at least and this is I believe it's two dollars. So very

inexpensive wax. I got it from Ulta. To prime my eyes I'm gonna use the NYX

eyeshadow base. How do you stop your hair from itching on scalp so much? A lot of

you guys asked a lot hair questions which I don't mind answering a lot of

hair questions. I just ya'll was gonna be a little bit more nosier than

that but to alleviate scalp itching. I don't experience it. So again this is

something that I'm not the extremely most knowledgeable person on and again

I'm not a beautician either. So I don't have clients who've experienced anything

so everything I've experienced in the crochet hair world is my own kind of

experience. So I'd say at a ACV rinse before installing the hair should work

perfectly. I've heard that has helped a lot of people not have that itching with it.

If it's already in your hair I think they make ACV apple cider vinegar

that's what ACV stands for. A spray .I know they make like I think Cantu makes

a ACV spray that you can spray on your hair that may alleviate it but again

kind of consult with your professional beautician on this one. Because again

some of guys ask me questions that I haven't experienced and again because

I'm not a beautician I ain't got certification in this I'm just kind of somebody who

likes to wing it. I don't got all the answers on. I just know a little bit of

answers and what I've heard people say and again help each other out in the

comments. If you guys have remedies for if it's itching in your head right now.

Like if you have hair in and it's itching what do you do. Answer! Help

everybody else out. How does one grow viewers or subscribers on YouTube even

while being consistent. I think I get this question a lot simply because I'm a

big advocate for staying consistent posting. You guys know I post every

Monday. Sometimes every Wednesday. Sometimes every

Friday but at least I have that Mondays video up for you guys. So I stay

consistent and that's my thing I preach but some people are like well I'm doing

that. I'm being consistent and I'm still not growing. Now what. Now what do I

do and then I would say to them kind of evaluate your content. Are you making

content people want to see? Like you have to be making content people want to see

in order for them to click on it. I think people do like a lot of makeup. I think a

lot of questions I get from people are for people who have a makeup channel or

a vlog channel and they're like I'm posting every week and nobody's clicking.

Makeup is a very saturated game. Like that's why I don't do tutorials a lot of

the time because it's saturated. I love doing it so I'm gonna keep making the

content but I'm gonna make the content that people want to see and clearly

people have spoken on my channel and what they want to see is crochet hair

content. Gonna do that regardless but I'm gonna sprinkle in videos I want to

do because this is my channel and I'm gonna do what I want to do. So you've got to

listen to the people. What is your highest viewed video? And maybe it's

something you don't want to keep making but you got to think about that's what

people came to my channel for. I might have a thousand subscribers might only

be getting 50 views. Why is that? And that's because they probably subscribed

for one thing and you're presenting another thing on your channel. So you

gotta remain I guess with the people. And if you're making your channel and you

want people to watch because this question seems like it's somebody who

wants people to watch. If you're making your content and you don't care about people

watching or the views or subscribers keep doing what you're doing but this is

seeming like somebody who wants people to come to your channel. Make what the

people want. Do polls. Ask questions. Use your community tab if you have a

community tab to ask okay I'm making content what specifically do you guys

want to see because it's about making content for for your viewers if you if

you want viewers want to use palettes that I haven't used in a while

I think I'm gonna use the semi-sweet though yeah let's do see you next week

and I'm gonna use peanut butter as my transition shade what is considered

consistent on YouTube every day upload three times a week question mark I would

say no less than once a week gotta think about it what is your favorite show how

often does that show come on type of a vibe like it consistent I would say

be for me about two to three times a week that's for my channel and the level

of growth that I'm in if you know you're higher up you got 1 million subs maybe

you can you know do with one upload a week just kind of depending on your

schedule but I would say be as consistent as you can be without

sacrificing the quality of your content don't put out 5 crap videos a week when

you really put busting hard to get them and you're really sacrificing kind of

your your quality for quantity if I can't put up a good quality video and

I'm gonna hold that video off until I can make it a good quality video so I

definitely say consistency with schedule as well so say I post you guys know I

post on Monday I don't post at 6 a.m. one Monday 7 a.m. 10 a.m. noon you know

I'm at 7 between 6:30 and 7:00 every Monday I got a video up I try to present

myself kind of like a TV show kind of like you know you guys watch power that

comes on Sunday that was 9 you watched your securing you guys know that comes

on Sundays at a certain time whatever show you watch it whatever day it comes

on you know when it's coming out you can't be a youtuber on here and post one

Wednesday then come back two Fridays from now then come back one Tuesday from

you can't do that or you can but I don't know how successful you will be at doing

it so for I guess crease car I'm gonna use maybe this one I think this kind of

and this is the nubian palette a new beam palette do they have oh yeah they

do have words Cana okay now I'm gonna use that if it's deep enough I might

have to mix some of mino in but yeah I'm mixing some me know and just kind of

deepen up a little bit but the next question is although your confidence is

through the roof and piping have you ever thought about plastic surgery

absolutely um the two things I've been kind of I guess insecure about or

wanting to change a little bit was both my lips I think I'm very little lips it

probably doesn't look like it but if I smile like you see how it just kind of

disappears yet I was thinking about like Fiddler's at one point just to kind of

made me beat them up and I thought about and I probably

go through this a breast reduction surgery if you guys know I'm very

top-heavy in my body you just frame overall it just creates a lot of back

problems a lot of slouching a slouch a lot it takes a conscious effort for me

sometimes for me to even think about having my my shoulders up and all that

so I think and I probably will like post children because it can only get worse

as time goes on with children I'm sure it's only to get a little bit worth so I

probably will go through with a reduction in surgery but that's the kind

of only things I've ever thought about I hope this isn't too personal but what is

your occupation it's talent acquisition I work in talent acquisition and I have

a small focus on college recruiting very small like last year I got to do a

couple of college events this year coming up I get to do a few more so I

work in tire position so that means if you ever apply for a job and you get

selected I'm the person who reaches out to you I am the person who coordinates

everything I'm the person who gets you on side I'm the person who does travel

if you have to travel somewhere when you first come in the doors I'm the person

who greets you I greet every single candidate that comes here so everybody

kind of calls me the face of my company because you cannot walk through the

doors and start here without how they met me which is good cuz I feel and know

pretty much everybody but again I'm so bad with faces so sometimes when we hire

somebody and they start I kind of get confused in a like oh no no he knows me

and I know him but do I know this person um but it's a fun job and I really like

it and I really like interacting with people as you guys can see from this

channel I like talking to people so it's very much so

something that comes natural to me engaging with people and just talking

with them I think I'm gonna use this of gold and the nubian palette today

because I have one kind of a gold look maybe I should go for like a gold end of

your kind of look I would like to know more about your career college major

internships gaining work experience so my

was Business Administration and then I think it's mostly the same at most

colleges where you concentrate in something I concentrated and finance and

each are at first I wanted to work in finance I don't know what I want to do

really to be honest but finance seemed like a good good option gaining work

experience internships I did intern in college I was a football recruiting

intern so that means I worked in the recruiting office of football which is

way different than regular recruiting at a normal job because you're not

recruiting based on kind of knowledge and experience you're really recruiting

based on skill set so you're really recruiting on kind of how fast are you

how that you can grow up throw a ball can you do a touchdown like we speed it

so it's a different kind of recruiting and you're recruiting like 17 16 18 year

old guys who can be like all over the place I could say I get some work

experience from it but it's definitely a different kind of recruiting like you're

not recruiting based on like resume and all that recruiting basically on what

this person can do agility wise um so it's kind of different but it was fun

nonetheless and that was my first internship I did that my senior year of

college and then once I graduated I was a senior recruiting specialist at my

first job I got that job while I was in college so April you got to wait what in

May I got the offer I was so scared because everybody was getting offers in

like March and then I didn't have a offer so I was like I'm gonna be one of

these kids who graduates and the hello job and when I have to go home and I'm

have to do something in your home which I wouldn't you know too bummed about but

like us I wanted to be one of these job having folk and luckily my first job

came through and that's where I met pretty much all my friends everybody I

really was cool with I met my roommate there we did not know each other prior

to my first job I met my friend Jess do you guys have seen in my DC vlog so I

met in my Peaks there so that first job I loved because it gave me experience

but at the same time I got to meet some really

credible people who I'm cool with today it was one of those fresh out of college

programs so there were 10 of us that were higher in the 10 of us were given

different areas of recruiting to kind of concentrate on whether it be sourcing

recruiting operations and all that I did a wing I had to do that off camera

because when it's something that I still struggle with to this moment honey four

lashes I'm going to be using the kids beyond natural eye you see there pretty

much every video you probably get tired of hearing me say that but again these

are the questions I love now how are you doing since the passing of your dog I am

doing well thank you guys so much for asking it was definitely a trying time

in October with when she passed and and I was kind of a time period of trying to

get used to how life is - it I think only pet people understand what it's

like to lose a dog I know it's strange to hear but I think when you talk to

someone who doesn't have a pet they just don't get it

and it's okay that you don't get it because I had was the same way before

having a pet and people were talking about losing their pet I feel like I'm

yelling like unsympathetic but I'd be like okay yeah it's a pet but then when

you lose it like it took me go back I was like oh gosh I didn't know I was

already this way like I took some days off work when I say days I took like two

days because I lost her own when a Wednesday Thursday I was like okay I'm

just take this day and then I was I ain't gonna work on Friday and then I

was like you know what I'm just gonna call it a break I'll hit y'all on my day

cuz I just did not go a full day without crying until literally the Sunday before

work it was just good it was that it was really bad because it's like a baby like

a dog is like a baby who just doesn't grow up like somebody who's always

depending on you whereas like a kid grows up and you don't have to take them

to the bathroom and you'll have to feed them they can feed themselves this is

somebody who's totally relying on you so your schedule becomes their schedule -

you have to wake up in the morning it was so confusing because I was like oh

now I sleep in I would wake up early you'd be like okay it was that weird

like okay I gotta take somebody out and I didn't have anybody to take out

anymore but I do think probably mid 2019 I probably will get another pet I just I

was trying to think about it like how long

wait and I think I will get one right now if I didn't have some work travel

coming up and I know early 2019 I want to take a trip and I don't want to get a

new dog and then have to pass it off to daycare almost immediately so probably

mid next year I do want kind of a another older dog like she wasn't she

wasn't older she was not even I got her so she was kind of an older dog but I

don't want a puppy I've never been somebody who wants a puppy I may change

my mind but I don't think I have the time or patience for a puppy right now

how often do you get your crochet redone my hair grows out really fast after

about a month I have to take it down do you have any tips I mean I don't leak my

hair and longer than six weeks so that's kind of my thing

I don't leave a hair in more than six weeks so sometimes it's three four or

five or six depending on the hair and what I got going on my hair grows pretty

fast too like this here right now it's kind of like the braids are kind of

loose but it's not to the detriment of the hair where I feel like I have to

take it out like tomorrow doesn't say don't go by me though I have a channel

so I take my hair probably quicker than the average person in general just

because if I wear here for eight weeks that means I can't film any other

content for eight weeks and then for two months I'm pretty much stuck so know

about me just go out with your hair is I say if you're keeping it in for less

than two weeks ago then it's kind of defeating the purpose I'd say

please try to keep it in for at least three weeks if you can three to this six

week is probably my sweet spot I probably wouldn't never be the one even

if I didn't have a channel to keep it in for eight weeks but that's just me I

miss my real hair and that person who gets braids and then five minutes later

wants to take the braids out to see that drop so primer water you guys know I

love to use this for priming my face for foundation today so foundation of

probably I'm not use it's my foundation or interview but I have been really

liking it recently because since my crews I'll come back and I've been a

little bit darker then that typically would be if you can kind of notice I'm a

wee bit darker in my neck area are kind of like having a few right now and I

think this foundation really works as the Estee Lauder Double Wear stay in

place I am the color 5w which is also known as bronze are you

ever going to straighten your hair and do you get trims on your natural hair

yes I get trims on my actual hair once a quarter so I go see my regular hair

stylist her name is Tony shoutout to Tony I go see her at least once a

quarter and I go to her for trims and treatments and everything like that

so yeah I'm not somebody who's just at home person in there who doesn't like

and go see professionals I'm all for the professional once every while because

again I'm not no professional and I ain't gonna pretend to me and will I

straighten my hair up absolutely I actually got my yarn skating

professionally was it August of this year and then I'll do it again myself in

December and then I'll probably won't do it again until December of 2019 now this

person doesn't explain her ex a ton of questions in the same question so I'm

gonna try to get through them as fast as possible and a rapid-fire motion aren't

those strip lashes or do you get your lashes done an eyelash why I always use

strip lashes and they are the kids beyond natural all three and pretty much

every video that I feel have you ordered from romwe will you have an order from

them I've heard of them maybe potentially one day I'll order from them

what sign are you normally versus what size do you order when you're on these

types of sites boo boo fashion over etc I am normally about a size three I

probably always ordered my jeans from that you know over three a size medium

and tops from fashion Nova from boohoo I'm typically like a size eight and most

things from boohoo they're UK so they were in a little bit smaller so I

typically wear about as size is 8 and budros what I mainly get from them this

is all from the same person you lose trying to get your questions out have

you tried will you try patching twist I absolutely will favorite lipsticks

of course on a stodgy Beverly Hills sepia and your favorite place to buy wig

I said favorite place to buy crochet here and wig would probably be Sam -

beauty wig types diva tres grandma trance is good go beauty in Y of course

I've been loving recently there were a variety they need to do a better job at

there but I like them any crochet here is to stay away from check out my bottom

three video that I just top three bottom three here is video

2018 and I talk about my here that I just did not like in this year any

vacation soon vacations nothing on the books but there will be some I promise

you I just came back from a vacation but I'm already in that vacation 2019

mindset and do I know any good places and in New York I've been in New York

before I don't know what you mean like

specifically restaurants do you mean like places to visit I was more so on my

like I didn't go play out when I went to New York I went to the museums I kind of

did Central Park I went to this restaurant called cafeteria it was

really good Junior's I had to visit it because if you guys watch making the ban

that was the place that did he has in a while to get that cheesecake so I was

like I gotta go through there and I gotta get a cheesecake and I gotta see

if it's a good cheesecake it was a pretty good cheesecake it was my

birthday that year when hours/day falls on Thanksgiving I got to spend a dough

and get up out of here because people forget there's my birthday so my

birthday was on Thanksgiving that year saw went in New York and I got to see

the Macy's Day Parade it was just a fun time to be in New York it was a cold

time but it was a fun time you guys know the heart shaped tape I don't like the

fact that I'm using this but I am using this I'm not huge heart fan but I do

want to go ahead and use this before it drives up a pirate for a while and I

just want to get my coins worth how old are you and what do you think about

microplane I am 29 years old and I'm not that big in some micro bleeding I think

and I'm please correct me if I'm wrong the only thing I really know about micro

writing is that you do it I believe for your brows that's kind of a brow thing

if you guys saw from the beginning I think my brows are pretty okay even if I

don't have to do them in the morning which trust me I do not do this every

morning like I did today they still kind of have a acuteness about them so I

don't think I whatever they consider it unless something went completely wrong

it just kind of looks painful from every like video I feel like novice and I'm

like I don't think I would ever put myself through this so not a big fan of

that I guess I'm bronzing right now this

really consider contour I'm using the NYX police wonder stick highlight and

contour stick do you find times the Dayton has it that approach to you after

seeing your social media nope I don't have no time today and to had somebody

approached me off of social media kinda but kind of not to somebody I knew and

they happen to follow my Camila vine account but they knew me in real life so

they did kind of approach me on my social media but it wasn't like a

stranger somebody who kind of already knew me and like okay I see you doing

your thing this is a funny one why is it so hard to leave when you know in your

soul he ain't no damn good girl you are here oh we're here I got totally get it

I think it's one factor of it could be lonely as I know lonely messages a thing

that gets us all cuz we bombarded by the social media and what social media is

trying to portray and everything it's nice and everybody got things going on

especially the approach of thirty people get engaged married having babies they

moving forward and you just like well I just gonna stay in this situation to see

what comes of it I don't want to be alone alone and I think that gets us I

think another thing is we're used to routines we used to history and at the

end of the day the only thing between us it's probably history

it's nothing between that person so I think it's like oh I've been with this

person for three years I don't want to go back through the what's your favorite

color was your birthday that I introduced you to my parents time five

you don't want to do I have you just like comfortable comfortability gets us

a lot of time for too much free time I think also gets us I think if we were

extremely busy which I can say in my case now that I'm busy I can't even

imagine me entertaining some of the foolery I entertain in the past but I

think I had a lot of free time knows like well ain't got nothing else to do I

guess I can see you topping this person so I think that gets us as well um but I

think if you are if you are somebody I'll give you when 2019 is trying to

leave some fool word behind I think do it is my best a good form of advice I

think that last night I was watching one of my favorite youtubers always her

video up above and she made a Q&A video which I I feel like

same vibe like she made a Q&A video I had been playing mine I've been asked my

question and she uploaded hers last night and all sites I'm filming my

tomorrow we are here but she was talking in her video about how she was on her

channel and she was not thriving and surviving and as soon as she dropped her

guy her channel soared her view source her subscribers sword and all that and I

was like girl you are singing my story right now because the same thing

happened to me as soon as and I will insert right now the the last tech

message were like we're done for over this is not happening anymore that was

like June 27 my camera died and I'm trying to figure out where I was so I'm

inserting a screenshot of the last conversations it's done it's over

conversation that date that it took place June 2017

now I'm inserting a picture of my Analects that's literally the same point

on my channel it took off like literally correlation between my channel

succeeding and me finally letting go of a situation the same that I will show

SKETCHMAS - BOOK TOUR ( Christmas Drawings Marathon ) - Duration: 5:11.

Hi guys and welcome back to my channel,

at the end of November, me and some of my art school classmates, which I've been keeping in touch with

decided to make a drawing marathon until Christmas.

So we chose some themes,

we mix them and pick some, and then and we created a sketchmas list do to.

the rules were: doing one sketch a day and then sharing it on our whatsapp group.

The time I took to do these sketches varied from day to day,

because during these holydays i had some days when i was

busier and days where i was more free. so some drawings

that you'll see have been done very quickly and others have been done

with more time and more carefulness. I had already participated in

something like this, with the Inktober 2018 and I had also made a

video, so if you do not haven't watched it, I'm going to leave the link of that video at the end of this one,

go and see it!, I can say

that It was a nice thing to do, because it made my friends and me share

and confront each other in one of our great passion in

common, which is drawing.

Let me know in the comments what is your favorite sketch. I hope you have had a merry Christmas.

and now, I leave you to the last video of 2018, with my sketchmas- book tour.

TCPA SMS Compliance - How to Switch Short Codes on Consumers - Duration: 12:11.

Derek: Hello, everyone.

Derek with Tatango.com.

I'm here with TCPA attorney, Ernesto Mendieta.

And we're answering questions from the interwebs about text messaging and TCPA compliance.

Luckily, we have a TCPA attorney here, and I know a few things about text messaging.

So, one of the questions we get all the time is a short code.

If you're not familiar, it's five to six digits, it's usually what brands will text message

you on.

There are some instances where you have to move your subscribers.

Let's say you have a million phone numbers, and you wanna move those phone numbers from

one short code to another.

And maybe that's your switching SMS providers, there's a host of reasons.

So, one day you're sending messages on a certain phone number, the next day you want to send

messages to those same phone numbers on a different five-digit phone number.

We get the question a lot, "Well, is that TCPA-compliant or what do I need to do to

remain TCPA-compliant when I'm switching essentially the phone number I'm texting my customers

on?"

Ernesto: That's a good way to see it, where I'm changing the telephone number I'm calling

from, right?

So, first, I'm gonna give you the general answer, and then we can get to the details.

But the general answer would be the TCPA, what it cares about is if the call party gave

you consent to be contacted for a telemarketing call or an informational call, right, how

was that consent given, and what was the agreement?

Like, what was the scope of the agreement?

So, we're saying if a certain consumer said, like, "Yes, they signed a contract, they signed

terms and conditions that said you can contact me anytime relating to this product or offers

about this product."

Then it's an open agreement, right, you can contact him, email, you can call him in telephone,

SMS.

Obviously, for SMS campaigns, you become a little narrower in your terms and conditions.

If you said, like, "Well, you're gonna receive one text message that you're gonna opt in,

and then I'm gonna send you back one text message a week."

Okay?

So, that was your agreement and you have to respect that.

Regarding short codes, the first question that you would have to do to see if you remain

compliant by changing is, what was the agreement, and how was the consent granted.

If the consent that was granted said, "You can contact me at my phone number with one

SMS a week," then you can do it with any phone because there was no limitation to what short

code was gonna [crosstalk 00:02:29], right?

So, you are compliant, you can change your short code every time, every SMS...

Derek: It can come from a different number.

Ernesto: Yeah.

Derek: It could even come from 1800 number.

It could come from, you know, a regular phone number.

Now, the carriers obviously have issues with that, but I guess it's to the point, the relationship

and the consent that the consumer has given is to the business to be able to message them.

Ernesto: Correct.

Derek: And hopefully, in the terms and conditions, with that kind of consent, it's not so specific

that you're saying, "I'm only gonna message you on 12345, that'll be the only number I'm

messaging you on.

So, do you recommend before you move a short code or before you move your subscribers to

a new short code, always have, like, a TCPA attorney review the terms and conditions,

the opt-in process, to make sure you didn't put in something that maybe restricts you

from moving?

Ernesto: Yeah, it's important.

If you already have this consent granted with certain limitations, it's important that before

you do anything that's gonna affect that consent, you have someone with you until you know.

It's okay, like, you didn't limit yourself, you didn't restrict yourself from migrating

into another short code.

Derek: And I hear this all the time, there's no rule in the TCPA that says you can't switch

short codes on people.

Ernesto: There's no rule [crosstalk 00:03:45].

Derek: They don't even mention short codes, right?

Ernesto: They do not.

Derek: It's very generic, its messaging, right?

Ernesto: Yeah.

Derek: Okay.

Ernesto: I'll just say it's important or it clarifies a lot of things when we're talking

just about TCPA, it will consider short code to be a telephone number.

Derek: Yeah.

Ernesto: For the TCPA specifically, there's no difference in how it treats those two things.

Derek: That's really more kind of on the software layer side, we care about short codes and

what you're messaging on.

From a TCPA standpoint, as long as the message is getting to the phone, it really doesn't

matter, you know, whether it's long code or, you know, 1800 number, or a short code, or

if you're switching the short code.

Now, it's annoying from a consumer standpoint.

So, I think when you as a brand are looking to move your subscribers, I wouldn't recommend

switching short codes on them every day because they're gonna go, "Who's this new short code?"

And I think there are some ways to alert your customers and tell them kinda what's happening

so you can reduce churn.

But from a TCPA standpoint, there's no mention of it, it really comes down to what the customer

agreed to when they opted in.

Ernesto: Correct.

Yeah.

Derek: Okay.

Ernesto: Because we can get to talk to best practices, and do you wanna notify them that

now you're gonna contact them through this number?

Yeah, maybe...

Derek: But those are best practices.

Ernesto: ...[inaudible 00:04:59] best practice.

Yeah, but...

Derek: And best practice is not law.

Ernesto: Correct.

Derek: Okay.

Ernesto: TCPA, there's no issue because the relationship is between the company and the

consumer, what was the consent, right?

If the consent was, "You can contact me through any telephone number," then you can migrate

short codes and there would be no issue with the TCPA.

Derek: So, the TCPA attorney, they review your opt-in process and the terms and conditions,

they don't see any clear and kind of reason why you couldn't move your phone numbers to

another, you know, short code, or long code, or whatever you wanna move it to.

There is something though, you know, that you need to kind of prepare and keep.

What is that?

Ernesto: Yeah.

It's important you were contacted him, right?

Even if you migrate short codes, if those aren't delete all the history you have behind

them of getting consent and sending them messages.

So, what you do need to do to remain compliant with the TCPA when you migrate short codes

is respect and continue to comply with that agreement you had before.

So, if you got the consent by that person using the other short code, meaning you sent

him an SMS with an opt in and he clicked on it, he said yes, he did whatever he needed

to do, then it's important to do some good record-keeping.

Derek: Okay.

Ernesto: You have to say, "This person consented to me contacting him with this short code."

Even if from now on it's gonna be a different short code, it's important for you to keep

it, to have those records complete.

Because if in the future there's a lawsuit against you, they're gonna ask you, "Was there

consent, was not there consent?"

You gonna say, "There was consent on this phone number, or this short code," and you

also have the migration and...if someone ask, "Why is it a different number than these messages?"

You're able to say, "Well, let me go to my file, let me go to my records.

Here it is because I migrated the short code but I had the consent," right?

Derek: Yeah.

Ernesto: And on the other side, it's also important that to respect any opt out that

you receive in the prior short code.

If you were contacting someone, and that person opted out, then you cannot contact him again.

Derek: Yeah.

Ernesto: If you migrate short codes, you cannot just go back to all the consents you have

and all the opt ins, and then, start texting everybody again.

Derek: So, it's not like a do-over, you know, back in middle school or whatever, you know,

where, "Oh, I'm switching phone numbers, so now it's a do-over."

All those people that opted out on the old phone number, they're back in.

Or, you know, "Hey, a new phone number, so I can do different things now, like, now I

can message from another business on that phone number."

It really...you have to maintain consistency.

Ernesto: Yeah.

And it goes to the same point that we were making at the beginning, the important thing

is your relationship between the company and the consumer.

So, it doesn't matter what the short code is, if they opted out, they opted out.

Like, don't go again...whatever.

Derek: So, and one thing I've seen is a lot of brands, when they're moving to a new short

code, they will just export from the old provider a list of phone numbers and maybe when they

opted in, you know, and what their carrier is.

I like that, that's nice.

But also, what I recommend, and it's a big file usually, sometimes you have to request

it, is to get the full messaging history for the entire length of the messaging campaign.

This means every single message in and out on the system.

Because when, you know, a plaintiff or somebody, a consumer complains, it's not good enough

to just look at a phone number and say, "Well, you opted in on this date and your carriers

AT&T, that's all we know about you."

It has to be, "Well, you texted in this, then we sent you this, then you opted in.

You've received these seven messages, and then you opted out."

It has to be the full record, which is a lot.

You know, if you have a million subscribers and you're sending one a day, that's a lot

of records, but you have to keep that information.

Ernesto: Yeah.

You have to because that's what's gonna prevent you or it's gonna give you a good defense

in case you get sued.

If you end up in court and there's a question of when did they consent, when did they opt

out, the only thing that's gonna save you...well, not the only thing, but the main thing that

could save you and is a really great defense strategy is to have all those messages, to

show them.

Derek: To have data.

Ernesto: Yeah.

Derek: Yep, exactly.

And then, also, you made a good point, the opt out.

If you move a short code, or if you move your subscribers from one short code to another,

you have to also continue to maintain and monitor the old short code because if someone

replies stop to the old short code, again, they're replying stop to your brand, not to

that specific phone number from your brand.

So, again, at Tatango, we look at it as, like, a long strategy where you're moving the subscriber,

but you also have to maintain, you know, opt outs and record them, and then apply them

to the new short code.

So, it's not as easy as just kind of, "Hey, new do-over, move over the subscribers."

It has to be a multi-month plan to move your short code, and a lot of data, and where you

store that data, you know?

Because we wanna make sure it's safe, it's not just with your marketing person, you wanna

send it to your legal team, you wanna make sure that it remains for a certain amount

of time.

So, it's definitely something, I think, you have to coordinate with not only your brand,

the SMS provider, the old SMS provider, and then also TCPA Council.

Ernesto: Yeah.

Derek: So, it's not as easy as just flip the switch.

Ernesto: Yeah.

And that's what TCPA Council is gonna get...should get involved and help you with the process

because they'll say, "Well, maybe to avoid dealing with that and dealing with all the

opt outs before, let's give a notice to all our clients, right?

Let's give them a specific notice that starting from today, we don't have that."

Even if it's not necessary, but you're letting them know so tomorrow they cannot go to court

and say, like, "Well, on this day I opted out to the phone that I had been receiving

messages."

Derek: So, you're saying almost, like, you know, even though it's not required by the

TCPA, you can give notice to your existing subscribers telling them that, you know, "Hey,

we are not using this phone number.

Don't text message this phone number.

For stop request, here's the new phone number," and again, recording all that data.

So, if there is an issue, you can go to court and say, "Well, we messaged them on this date,

this message, and then we messaged them from the new code."

So, it's kind of marrying best practices with law, with kinda common sense.

And then, also, you have to keep up with kinda the brand where it can't just sound like a

robot is moving your phone number.

I've seen some really good examples where people are like, you know, "Hey, we just got

a new phone number," you know, "Here it is," and, you know, "Here's 20% off for remaining

a subscriber," you know?

So, I think you gotta marry kind of what the attorneys want, what the brand marketing wants,

what makes sense, you know, from a consumer.

Because again, they're getting a message from, you know, your brand that now is on a brand

new phone number, people might even think it's spam.

Ernesto: Yeah.

Derek: So, there's a ton of things to go into when moving your subscribers to a new short

code.

Ernesto: Yeah.

Correct.

Derek: Perfect.

Okay, sounds good.

Again, my name is Derek Johnson with Tatango.com.

And I'm talking to TCPA attorney, Ernesto Mendieta.

And we're answering questions about TCPA compliance for text message marketing that are coming

from the interwebs.

Moment Meghan Markle was 'ignored' by Prince William at Christmas church service - Duration: 5:08.

Moment Meghan Markle was ignored by Prince William at Christmas church service

the fat four may have put on the united front on christmas day but new footage of Prince

William and Harry and their wives Kate Middleton and Megan Markle has royal watchers buzzing

the footage which was posted to Instagram

shows the moment the Dutchess of Sussex appeared to turn to Prince William and talk to him as they left Saint Mary Magdalene church and

Sandringham

but William is seen to be fixing his scarf and many are convinced it is evidence that Megan was brushed it

comes after months of speculation that there has been tensions between Harry and William after wills questioned if Megan was the best choice for Harry

it also comes as tensions between the two brothers and their wives has prompted Megan and Harry to move out of

Kensington Palace to frog marhaus

UK media have reported that Megan has been dubbed Duchess difficult by Palace insiders after another of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex estates

Samantha Cohen quit from her role

1 wrote on Twitter maybe my imagination but Williams seemed to ignore Megan and

William in hair did not interact with each other much

something just seemed off between them

another wrote on Instagram that's William and Harry talked to each other I feel there is something wrong between them while one commented

it's sad William ignored Megan's chatter as it looked like she said something to him

another onlooker said they are always laughing and probably joking too but on this video they don't even look at each other

it's weird I hope everything is okay between on

the day of the church service Prince Charles led the way followed by his sons Prince William and his wife

Catherine and Prince Harry and his pregnant wife Megan

Harry and Megan Markel are expecting their first child in the spring

the couple walked arm-in-arm next to William and Catherine

many in the crowd wished the Merry Christmas as they strolled to the church in the English countryside on a cold wintry morning

after the 45-minute service people gave them flowers as they headed back for traditional Christmas lunch

The Queen's husband Prince Philip who is 97 and largely retired from public life did not attend the service

Charles wife Camilla who is recovering from flu also missed church

William and Catherine's three children Prince George five Princess Charlotte three and eight month old Prince Lewis also stayed home

The footage of the moment between Megan and William comes after the Sun reported at the appearance at church this Christmas was uncomfortable

According to the son a source said the Queen and Charles have allowed the situation to play out without overtly

interfering but they both made it clear that Christmas was for the whole family to really come together

that meant the two couples walking into church together as the Fab Four just like they had last year

yes it was awkward and uncomfortable given what's gone on over the past twelve months

but the alternative of even more negativity on Christmas Day wasn't worth thinking about

It also comes as queen elizabeth ii also called for tourists to be called between Kate and Meghan

It's believed the Queen also wanted the pair to be on friendly terms by the time her Christmas message was played on television

queen elizabeth ii were personal reflections into the latest edition of her annual christmas message

saying she hoped her long life brought a measure of wisdom and noting her grandchildren's contributions to Britain's royal family

the 92 year old monarch said some cultures believe a long life brings wisdom

I'd like to think so perhaps part of that wisdom is to recognize some of life's baffling paradoxes such as the way

human beings have a huge propensity for good and yet a capacity for evil and

lighter note the Queen listed the house of Windsor's

2080 milestones with the same unabashed pride of someone writing they're literally christmas letter for friends and far-flung relatives

it's been a busy year for my family with two weddings and two babies and another child expected soon

It helps to keep a grandmother well occupied Elizabeth said not forgetting to mention her own firstborn

we have had other celebrations too including the 70th birthday of the Prince of Wales otherwise known as heir to the throne Prince Charles the

annual message was broadcast to many of the 53 Commonwealth countries

Elizabeth recalled that her father King George six welcomed eight former British colonies at the first meeting of Commonwealth leaders in 1948

even with the most deeply held differences

treating the other person with respect and as a fellow human being is always a good first step towards greater understanding she said

Do I need sales training? I have the best product on the market! - Duration: 4:43.

this question we get constantly the question is do I need sales training I

have the greatest product or service on the market hi my name is John Ruman

international business coach and consultant I help run the sales training

academy with the real 007 Mr. Roger Moore let me tell you why

everyone and every single organization needs sales training it's not a matter

of quality have you ever seen the crappiest tip most terrible company

still excel in business interesting how that works right here's the thing the

best product doesn't mean it's gonna sell because unless no one knows that

it's the greatest product or even if it is the greatest product but it's not

priced properly or it's not marketed properly all these things need to come

together for you to actually have a company that will succeed and produce

the sales you're looking for so before you go crazy and before you say I

already know what I'm doing my product will sell itself

good luck how many great products have you seen in the past that are

exceptional but do not sell I would love to hear your feedback actually so those

who watch this video and got this far please do me a favor what products do

you know that do not exist exist now that were awesome in many respects but

are no longer on the market so I'm just gonna give you things that come to mind

top of my head okay for example there's an automaker

in the u.s. called Saturn and Saturn had a lot of things going for it that no one

else replicated and they had some really nice things again it's not the perfect

example but I'll give you why I thought they were exceptional

one of the biggest problems that vehicles have is the vehicles have

exteriors that when they get hit they crumple and they scratch easily

so what Saturn did is actually came up with an exterior shell that was a

plastic composite that if it got bumped it would not crumple and require it to

be replaced or something like that also the because of this people would

have cars that looked almost new years after they'd been around so it just

really made them stand out so so long story short whether you know or not

Saturn does not exist anymore it's no longer here as a company why there's

many things but I think they didn't sell one of the things that really set them

apart if you have something in your business that makes you exceptional it

could be price most people it's not being the lowest priced competitor is

usually the worst option because there's always someone who's trying to outdo you

price-wise but there are other aspects that you could be focusing on that would

make your business more prolific and have better sales besides a better sales

force having a better customer service aspect having better service and

warranty while it is soda fix it or maybe a higher quality product in the

end such that it wouldn't break down and may

last longer or may have other benefits again you want to sell on benefits so

long story short why do you need sales training because sales training will

sell your product whether it's good batters in between and the better you

have your sales team trained the better and sooner you can actually succeed and

get ahead of those who think having the best product makes you have a successful

business good luck it doesn't work so do me a favor and

share this with friends who you think would value tag them also if you have an

interest in taking any of the courses in sales training do me a favor and like

and follow this page so you get notifications as will be posting soon

our upcoming workshop so we have six weeks sales training

coming up in early 2019 as well as cold calling workshops and possibly even a

customer service workshop as well so to your continued success I wish you all

the best I look forward to seeing you then take care

iPad Pro Bending - We've been here before - Duration: 5:00.

Hi everyone Aaron here for ZolloTech and many of you have commented about how

easily we're seeing that the new iPads Pro actually flex in a lot of people's

videos and many of you are concerned about buying one because of that now I

want to say first of all I haven't had that issue at all but I'm very careful

with it and I'm always careful to make sure I set it flat in fact why first did

the unboxing of this I brought that up and said this feels really nice and thin

in light but you push on it a very little bit very very little pressure it

will flex just about anyone I think could do this a little baby could

probably flex this I'm putting such light pressure on this so it definitely

flexes and then there's a weak spot on this side where you have the wireless

charger for the Apple pencil where it flexes and if you were to push this in a

certain rate I'm not sure what the force would be you could snap that pretty

easily now I think the reason part of the reason mine's been nice and flat is

I'm using the keyboard folio case and this in itself brings up the rigidity of

the device quite a bit so if I push on this this feels very strong very rigid

and it also keeps the camera bump from sticking out so if someone was using

this iPad flipped over the other way with a pencil and wasn't using a case

this camera bump alone could probably cause some flex in the chassis an apple

had said that they were arriving bent to some people and even X Apple employees

were saying that theirs were bent and to me that's just unacceptable now we've

been here before with the iPhone 6 and 6-plus

this is my iPhone 6 plus from years ago I've had the skin on forever it's not a

sponsored thing or anything so this has been on here forever and it's been nice

and straight it's not flexed or bent in any way and this is a known problem for

this phone and happened to a lot of people just by putting them in their

pocket they didn't have to sit on it or anything like that it could be in their

front pocket and it would been however Apple realize that and then after the

this one they came out the following year with a more for a higher grade of

aluminum to prevent that problem from happening over and over and so I think

we'll see the same thing with this one however if we go back to the

had heir to this one also had some flex in it and it it was a problem I thought

back then but I didn't see anybody snapping iPads back then just to see how

a week they were this is probably more difficult to snap I guess you'd need a

press to figure out what kind of pressure it takes to snap it but they

all flex a little bit even the ten point five inch iPad pro does the same but it

definitely feels more rigid than this new design however if we took a look at

what Apple is using they're using aluminum I don't know what grade

aluminum they're using it may be the same as the six or the 6s plus I'm not

sure but they definitely could either thicken this or or maybe even make a

special version that's titanium it would be similar in color super rigid and

strong but it would cost them more money and I think it'd be fine for a thousand

dollar device but maybe not for mass production I don't know I'm not an iPad

engineer but I would love to see them reinforce this make it a lot stronger

and maybe even do a recall if there's a problem with them flexing helped people

out I don't know that we'll ever see that but unfortunately this is the

current state of Apple and if you've ever seen Microsoft Surface tablet when

they first announced it they actually made a skateboard out of it and stood on

it to show how durable it is and that's made out of magnesium whereas this is

made out of aluminum and I think Apple may need to explore either more metier

metier or maybe or thicken this and this particular device I really love using it

but I am worried that it will flex just by put putting it in a backpack I won't

put it in a backpack on a plane because I'm afraid it will it will flex I'll

just bring the 10.5 inch and not worry about it

this one is just too weak in my opinion so I'll use it at home carefully and

hopefully Apple will fix it in the long run so that's it I just wanted to talk

about that a little bit because people are concerned if you're careful with

your devices I wouldn't be concerned just make sure you have Apple karent's

in case something happens I'm sure Apple will replace it for you but if you don't

have Apple care you may want to get one of the older ones at a discounted price

anyway but let me know if this has happened to you at all if you had yours

been have you did did you buy one anyway I'd love to

hear what you think in the comments below

and also if you haven't subscribed already please subscribe and like as

always thanks for watching this is Aaron I'll see you next time

How Ratings Work | Uber Support | Uber - Duration: 1:05.

Narrator: How ratings work.

Curious about how ratings work? Many drivers are.

Our rating system is designed to be open and upfront.

Once the app has collected several ratings from riders,

you'll begin to see your average rating.

In the beginning, it's quite normal to see your rating go up and down.

That's because there are fewer trips to affect your average, so don't worry.

One or two low ratings won't have a major impact on your overall rating.

Riders consider a variety of factors, including navigation,

vehicle cleanliness, and their conversations with you.

If a rider gives you four stars or fewer,

they'll be asked to provide a reason why.

If it's for something out of your control,

such as price or traffic, we'll remove it from your overall rating.

You can see all your feedback in your profile.

Tap the rating below your profile photo

to see a breakdown of your rating and any rider feedback,

which is a great way to find out what riders think about your driving and service.
