Waching daily Mar 29 2017

Hey guys and gals, Compulsion Games here

with some very exciting news.

After a gruelling Montreal winter

full of wet snow, dry skin, and hard work,

we are finally ready to present to you:

the Maidenholm Update for We Happy Few.

This is the second, major content update for We Happy Few,

and we're so pleased to share it with you.

We've developed brand new content,

and included some long-awaited community requests.

So let's get to it.

First off: welcome to the new,

weird and wonderful island of Maidenholm!

This second Village island very mysteriously appeared offshore,

and with it, a bunch of new encounters

for you to explore.

Maidenholm is a significantly greater threat

than any you have ever faced before in our world.

The encounters are more dangerous, more ridiculous,

and everything I hope my Granny never sees,

for reasons that will be obvious to you.

Also, Faraday and the Houseboys have moved

from the first Village island to Maidenholm,

so be prepared to work hard if you want to pay them a visit.

Second, we have implemented playstyles!

This is one of your most highly requested features.

You now have a choice at the beginning of the game

to play in one of three different playstyles.

If you have been asking for us

to remove the survival aspects of the game,

then you are in luck.

The new Birdwatcher playstyle focuses

just on the quests and exploring the world,

and you no longer need to eat or drink.

If you have been asking us to make everything harder,

well, you can now go full rage

and select the Vigilante playstyle.

Combat will be harder

and survival will be brutal.

Things are not gonna be easy

and the game will be punishing.

Or if you were happy the way things were

then you can continue playing on the Downer playstyle,

which is basically what we have now,

just with a few additional balance tweaks.

These Playstyles have been designed

to accommodate a wide range

of different types of players.

As always, we'll be looking forward to hearing your feedback.

Third, in our first, major world generation change,

we added support for regions in the garden district.

The map is now divided between different types of areas:

wilderness, abandoned neighbourhoods and small hamlets,

each with their own resources and threats.

This is the first in a series of large changes

to our procedural system,

and there is more to come.

We hope the new regions will add

even more personality to

the ever evolving world of Wellington Wells.

Fourth, the shelters have been revamped,

and you'll no longer get these for free.

You'll face challenges

in order to unlock each one,

but on the plus side, once you do,

it'll be just as safe as usual,

and since the new shelters will introduce

key mechanics useful to the game world,

you'll be better prepared for

exciting new challenges down the road.

Come on guys, it's for your own good.

Fifth, because we are never short

on finding ways to complicate your life,

we added a bunch of different deadly features.

The so-called Toxic Fog has been expanded.

I'm afraid this put an end to the easy

night errands in the Garden District or the Village

while gently reminding you that ecologic catastrophe

is probably more real than some believe.

Meanwhile, our very own and

never drunk-on-duty Wellington Wells police

found ways to improve the security in the Village District.

No, they did not build a wall.

Instead, we would like to welcome

their new pet, the Peeper.

It's a delightfully evil device

that scans your soul for residues of Joy,

oh but it isn't it just so gosh darned cute.

Sixth, we added a butt load of options in the main menu,

so you can customize your desired playthrough.

This allows Playstyles and Permadeath

to be displayed all in one place,

as well as providing an option for multiple save slots.

Speaking of Permadeath,

please note that it is no longer the default option.

Many players were recklessly clicking

through the menus without realizing

what permadeath was.

Now, it must be a conscious choice,

which doesn't take anything away from permadeath players,

and will help us not get screamed at quite so much…

And finally, we have a ton of stuff

but we're out of time.

So here's the rest of the video

condensed into 5 seconds.

After so long working on our previous update,

it felt really great to be working

on all this cool stuff.

We'd love to hear what you think of it,

so come say hello on the Compulsion Forums

or on your most convenient social media.

Until next time,

happy update everyone,

and don't forget to take your Joy!

- Okay, so you wait here.

- What?

- Sam, no offense, but who do you think the kids are

gonna wanna talk to?

Me?

Or some old skeezer?

- This is Ladies Drink Free, written by Meredith Glynn

and features the return of Claire Novak, who's kind

of a fan favorite character, and someone we really like.

- There was an incident in Wisconsin.

Looks like a werewolf.

- They're working alongside the British Men of Letters.

They're kind of feeding our guys cases.

- Looks like a milk run to me.

- Then you don't mind if I tag along.

- They get put onto what looks like a pretty cut and dried

werewolf case.

(woman yelling)

But quickly becomes much more complicated than our

guys anticipated.

- Hell of a mistake.

- Dean?

- No, I told you we shouldn't have dragged him along.

I told you that.

- Don't!

- And it very subtly tees up something that we're

gonna revisit next year.

- Yes.

- And that's as much of a teaser as I can tease.

(laughing)

- Killing monsters is what we do.

Or maybe palin' around with demons and witches,

you've forgotten.

- Don't tell me how to do my job!

(intense music)

The Secret To Going Viral (Exclusive Clip From My 2017 Internet Marketing Party Talk) - Duration: 6:55.

- [Tai] 2017 is a transition period.

By 2020 Google predicts 90% of internet consumption

first of all will be video.

So if you're not into edutainment games

with being able to make valuable, inimitable,

rare kind of videos that make people laugh,

that make people feel entertained

you're gonna get blown out of the water.

Somebody's gonna come for GEICO,

they're gonna come for Coca-Cola, you'll see.

Here's the deal.

You can be very successful at a young age

if you follow a few formulas.

One of 'em is you only learn from mistakes

but they don't have to be yours.

- He doesn't really need an introduction

'cause you see him every day on your YouTube feed,

so there's not a whole lot else I can say

other than let's put your hands together for Tai Lopez.

(crowd cheers and claps)

- This right here

is one of the things that I'll share with you.

Edutainment is gonna blow everything out of the water.

So that formula right there some scientist found,

it's called VRIN, V-R-I-N.

Every single day, and this is relatively proprietary.

So David said make sure you give people

actual valuable stuff 'cause a lot of you are super smart,

I'm sure a lot of you are smarter than me.

This is actually something very smart

and I didn't come up with it.

So I'll explain it

and I'll explain how you can use it practically.

So the V, there you go, there's the formula.

V stands for value, R stands for rarity,

I stands for inimitability,

and N stands for nonsubstitution.

So when I see people, because everybody's going online.

We all know this, everybody.

You have to know who you should be afraid of.

I'm afraid of mostly people who understand this.

The V in value generally is things that release dopamine.

Here's what doesn't release dopamine.

I'm gonna show you how to get another job.

People who don't associate any kind of work

with high dopamine.

Now you see internet marketers showing cash amounts,

how to make $17,000 working two hours.

That releases some dopamine but not a lot.

Dan Bilzerian on a one to 10 with all the boobs

and all the bazookas is releasing 100 units of dopamine

and most people internet marketer's headlines

release 10 units of dopamine.

You're always gonna lose.

Now if you move here to rarity, rare, rare.

You gotta think about this.

Rarity, inimitability, and nonsubstitution

are somewhat complex and they are somewhat similar.

So here's what rarity means.

Why does Kobe Bryant, or why did Kobe Bryant

make $250,000 per basketball game

and the average school teacher

doing something that's more valuable to society

make $50,000 on average?

He made more than them throwing a ball through a hoop

in ten minutes.

What's more rare, a school teacher or a six foot six guy

who can throw a basketball through a hoop

while a bunch of tall guys try to stop 'em?

So rare, make sure in your marketing

you're doing something that's rare.

Dan Bilzerian has 40 girls and he shoots a rocket launcher

at a truck.

I don't know many people that do that, it's rare.

Now inimitability is an interesting one.

'Cause inimitability means how easy is it to copy?

And if you look at people who make the most money.

Last year was a very interesting year

'cause I got to spend a decent amount of time

talking to Elon Musk one on one.

Who here could do what Elon Musk did?

He's the only man alive right now to start three companies

valued at $1,000,000,000 simultaneously.

It's very inimitable.

Another way to think about the I in inimitability,

imitation.

So I remember I have a friend.

He's one of the top Silicon Valley guys

and he was at my house in LA and he says to me,

he says, "Tai, we should start a business together."

And we brainstorm a concept.

And then I said, "Man, that's kinda hard."

And he said, "Then we should definitely do that thing."

Do the hard thing.

Elon Musk says this, one of my favorite sayings.

"You get paid in proportion

"to the difficulty of problems you solve."

And that still holds true.

You want to grow your social media.

You want to increase conversion rate, inimitability.

You have to know to do something

that not many people can do.

This last one, nonsubstitution.

This one's an interesting one.

The question is, who here has read "Zero to One"

by Peter Thiel, cofounder of PayPal?

He says the best business to go in

is one with zero competition.

That's one of the central parts of the book.

I see a lot of us going into business

that other people are doing and this violates

the nonsubstitution rule.

One of the things that I've been lucky to be able to do

is very few people are doing what I'm doing.

No idea why but there's no substitute.

Some people hate me, but the people who like me can't,

even if they don't really like me

they can't find anybody else like me so they follow me.

So you have to do the same thing.

Let me talk real quick on one thing.

My predictions for the next 18 months.

Edutainment will be all, all, all, all.

You should see the number.

I told you, nobody's broken Google analytics

except an 18-year-old girl.

Here's the deal.

I do not believe in the grind it out school.

I did too much grinding.

But if I could go back in time I would wait,

here's what I would do.

In a dating relationship

if you're in therapy in the first fucking month

I know people who go to therapy

in the first three months of the relationship.

You're grinding out a relationship, kill it.

That thing's dead.

If you launch a business and it's not working that well

start another one.

I think most,

now some people will say you give up too early.

No, I know that.

I factored that into that sentence.

In general, there are some people who will be too flaky

and move from business to business.

It's not my experience that it's most people.

Most people marry the wrong person, go the wrong college,

live in the wrong city, have the wrong set of friends.

They make every mistake.

So I think if it's not badass kill it.

Live a life that's a nine or a 10.

5 DIY Party Hacks | Hack Of All Trades - Duration: 3:03.

- So, here's the thing.

You wanna have some friends over

or you just met some cool new peeps

and you wanna lock that friendship down.

Either way, it's time for a par-tay!

So, I've got some crazy-good life hacks

that'll make sure you're the life of the party.

Or you could just go streaking naked

through the neighborhood,

but this just seems so much easier.

And warmer, am I right?

Now, the most important part of any special soiree

is, of course, the heart that you put into it.

Just kidding, it's the booze. (laughing)

So, just make sure you have your bar fully stocked

and your wine properly chilled.

Forgot to chill your wine?

Chill out, I've got your back with a great hack.

So, grab that sad warm wine

and put it into a bucket with ice,

pour some water in, and add a buncha salt.

The salt actually reduces the freezing point of water,

which means your bottle of wine

will be cool in under six minutes.

Now, if you're having mixed drinks,

you're dealing with an ice bucket situation,

so here's how to keep your ice bucket

from having a complete meltdown

and leaving your guests with a slushy mess.

I mean, what is this, an iceberg?

Ditch your ice bucket and grab your cutest colander

and place it over a glass bowl.

As the ice melts, the water will run off into the bowl

and your ice will stay intact,

so you can easily grab it with tongs, iceberg-free.

This vodka's getting better as it goes along. (laughing)

Hmm?

So, it's time to put out your appetizers, but you don't own

an $8 million Tahitian wooden cheeseboard. (gasping)

Don't worry, you don't need to.

Here's the hack.

You know that tray in your TV room?

How about that basket of fruit in your kitchen?

Really, anything around your house can be repurposed.

Just make sure you clean them properly

and go to town with your fruit, cheese,

nuts, Sour Patch Kids, whatever you like.

With all this great food, you won't even miss the board.

(laughing)

So, you wanna really wow your guests with your dessert,

but you aren't a pastry chef.

Well, here's a sweet hack, pun intended.

See this boring store-bought cake?

Wah-wah.

You will not believe what you can do with it.

Melt some chocolate chips and cream

to make a luscious ganache, pour it over the cake,

and decorate with some fresh berries,

and you just took that inexpensive cake

from plain Jane to fancy Fiona!

Who's the pastry chef now?

What?

When the party's over and it's the end of the night,

two things are happening.

Your SPANX need to come off

and you have half-empty bottles of wine.

You could drink 'em, and I've done it,

but try this hack instead.

Pour the leftover wine into ice trays

with some garlic and various herbs.

The next time you're cooking dinner,

you've got instant flavor bombs ready to go.

Red wine is great in pasta sauces

and white wines pairs perfectly with fish or chicken.

Well, I hope these hacks made your party

a little easier and a little calmer.

'Til next time, happy hacking.

Smurfs: The Lost Village - Review (Spoiler Free) - Duration: 7:09.

Well, the animated features of 2017 roll on,

with the first of three from Sony Animation arriving in theatres leading up to the Easter Holidays.

I'll be honest, folks.

Until recently, Smurfs: The Lost Village had barely even registered on my radar.

I missed the period of the 80's cartoon by several years,

and the live-action flicks from a couple of years back looked awful enough that I still have not seen them.

But, as the trailers started dropping, I strangely felt less dread then I'd anticipated.

How much this has to do with a sub-par animated slate for 2017,

or that since I'm reviewing all these flicks I'm going to pay attention to them all, I cannot say.

But, I took it as a good sign.

An especially solid opening five minutes gets us into this world really quickly.

Smurf Village is filled with cute blue gnomes known as Smurfs, all defined by a single personality trait

that gives them their names, though the only ones we need concern ourselves

with are bookworm Brainy, smug but sweet Hefty, timid Clumsy and Smurfette.

Papa Smurf is only as strict as he has to be, for the evil Gargamel is constantly trying to destroy the Smurfs.

Turns take a matter for the worse

when the wizard discovers the location for a Lost Village of other Smurfs.

Barely managing to conceal her rising anxiety at being different then all the other Smurfs,

Smurfette leads the other three to find this lost village.

I don't know about you, but I'd much rather

have the Smurfs in an adventure film then a full-on sassy comedy.

For though the adverts have downplayed it, this is first and foremost an adventure film.

And what that means is that many of the most

obnoxious elements you might otherwise expect aren't as omnipresent.

The flipside to that is that there's not a whole lot else that can be qualified as good.

It's more that the film does things decently that are often done badly.

And it is the case that all the gender reductions the Smurfs have carried throughout the decades return.

As is often the case when an animated film pulls the "female empowerment" plug,

this results in the males being portrayed mostly as dips,

and the females as being full of testosterone and more manly then the males.

The only balance is Smurfette,

and she doesn't end up having any more depth then most animated protagonists.

If this doesn't bother me all that much, well, it's easier to take that in a fantasy with non-humanoids.

easier to take that in a fantasy with non-humanoids.

That, and I'm not a girl.

Just in case you were wondering.

All that being the case, the characters suffice,

with Smurfette's three companions, despite being defined by a single attribute,

showing the ability to step outside of said attributes marginally.

The most engaging is Gargamel, if you like old-fashioned, campy, evil, magic brewing villains.

That extends to his minions too, with his vulture and cat especially delivering playful reactions

when they're not trying to please him.

Otherwise, flaws pop up here and there,

like a wobbly structure, pop song interludes, and the obligatory dance number ending.

But the film manages to make these traits all less problematic to the extent

that none of them actively annoyed me. Not the same as engaging me, but it's something.

To my delight, this film only had a few cases,

at best, of that awful habit of using the word "smurf" to replace any given phoneme.

The only wasted opportunity is the cast.

Aside from Rainn Wilson portraying Gargamel as over-the-top as he can,

and perhaps Jack McBrayer playing Clumsy in his usual squeak,

every other star does nothing of note.

Turns out Demi Lovato's speaking voice gets indistinctive pretty fast,

and there's nothing done by anyone else that a professional voice actor couldn't do in their sleep,

given the right voice director.

This is especially noticeable once they reach the lost village.

Since we don't get there until over halfway into the film,

its inhabitants have even less room to break beyond vague one-trait personalities then the leads.

And then we come to the visuals, and this is where I stop sniping,

for Smurfs: The Lost Village is an exquisite treat for the retinas.

Much like Illumination and Blue Sky Studios, Sony Animation keeps their budgets to $100 million or less.

However, that has generally left Blue Sky playing in Dreamworks and Pixar's shadow,

whereas Illumination's output is, bar outliers, just dispiriting.

But Sony has turned this into a strength,

by making features that truly embrace the visual traditions of cartoons,

rather then copying every other major studio in using the Disney tradition.

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs went full Looney Tunes on us,

with outrageous physics and design and wacky rubber hose animation.

Then, Genndy Tartakovsky took all he gained from his days at Cartoon Network,

and made Hotel Transylvania a lovely exercise in every cartoon principle known to man.

The sequel doubled down on this direction enough

to make a cartoon formalist like myself weep despite the trite screenplay.

The physics in Lost Village aren't quite that inspired, though it's still wacky enough to compensate.

No, the true miracle here is in the design.

The aesthetic of the characters, designs and environments closely matches the original comics,

which is certainly welcome, for visual faithfulness is something to be appreciated.

But the artists are smart enough to leave room to put their own stamp on it.

With basically the whole film taking place in nature, the film remains constantly gorgeous.

The flora and fauna throughout is always lovely, with such otherworldly design choices in the anatomy

that rivals the vegetation on the best-designed alien worlds in cinema.

And this applies to any visual element not inherited from the source material,

especially once we reach the lost village itself.

It's no accident that the film's best segments by far are those that most openly ape Avatar.

It is obvious that they didn't have a Pixar budget,

but these are the kind of results that not only don't need a budget that high,

but also by and large wouldn't gain much from a larger budget either.

In its own small way, this is already certain to be one of the best-looking films this year,

animated or otherwise, and easily the best-looking film from Sony Animation.

All this, despite playing in the same visual wheelhouse as a decades-old comic.

I'm sure that's enough on the film's look for anyone in the crowd who's not an animation buff,

so to wrap up, the film is clearly a Smurf product, with all the cultural baggage intact.

But even though most of the bad tendencies of modern animation remain to a degree,

a lot of them are subdued, with fart jokes and awful pop culture references kept surprisingly low.

And I haven't been thinking about the thin personalities or gender reduction since I saw Lost Village.

I've been thinking about the immersive world it's cooked up,

and how there was little I found actively problematic.

Which might sound like faint praise. But make no mistake, it is praise, folks.

So while I'd drag my feet about recommending it,

I wouldn't make any effort to stop someone from checking it out either.

Not remotely necessary, but it's a way to spend 81 minutes, sans credits.

Thankfully, it's not protracted like many recent animated flicks.

And if you have kids, it's perfect for them, which is more then can be said for some recent cartoons.

There's nothing objectionable or inappropriate,

and you yourself will have a passable time if you bring an open mind.

I can't imagine I'll have more then faint memories of it a year from now,

but sometimes, that's all you need.

And if you do feel inclined to discover this Lost Village,

don't wait until it hits home media, do so in theaters.

The visuals justify your curiosity on the big screen.

Thanks for watching the review, folks. As always, I'm your host, Mike Culligan, of Cartoon Karma.

If you liked what you saw, leave a like or a comment, that'd be pretty neat. Subscribing would be even neater.

Or you can check out my other videos, where I cover animation of all shapes and sizes.

Perhaps even follow the channel on Facebook and Twitter.

All your choice, but it'd sure bring a smile to my face.

Until next time, folks.

The Ascending Man What Is 5D Masculinity - Duration: 7:51.

The Ascending Man What Is 5D Masculinity

by Gabriel Heartman,

We are learning so much about what we as human beings are capable of in regards to our potential

and expression.

How we have so many gifts that lie dormant in our DNA and arising light bodies.

A power of creation that seems mythical in proportions to our current limited consciousness.

There is a general human frame that surrounds it and that is all true.

I have also been very interested in how this plays out in our gender expressions.

Do we just become less polarized this way and become more androgynous?

I certainly feel this when it comes to our Star Being brethren.

But does that mean we lose our humanness the way we know it now?

I suppose, like all things in this unknown and unknowable time, it all depends on where

we come from and where we want to go.

I feel we are being offered a Golden Age of Humanity.

One in which we live both in unity consciousness and individuality.

An individuation that is the Me within the We.

Being connected to Source and having an awareness of our integrated fractal expressions.

A higher vibratory dualistic experience.

So in that picture I see a New Woman and a New Man.

Or just remembering what it is we always were and even ARE currently.

I feel this Golden Earth that we are desiring to be a part of and co-create together, is

lead by the return and rebalance of more feminine and yin energies.

This has been talked about for a long time and we see its need even more with the state

of current affairs.

The more wounded masculine psychic overlay is seeing its consequence and demise.

Current disclosure revelations are showcasing the depths of this condition and awakenings

are increasing.

Men are scattered just as much as women among the dimensional consciousness spectrum but

women are closer to the frequency of 5D, at least in my opinion and experience.

The awakening is happening mentally for most men and then as the vibration continues to

raise on Gaia we are being invited to go more into our hearts, as that is what the core

of 5D is.

To live in the fullness of authentic BEingness.

There are no more 3D wound-based blocks that cap or prevent our access to our more crystalline

nature.

So when we as men begin to heal the Heart what does that look and feel like?

Clearly we are honest with our emotions.

We are vulnerable.

When a feeling arises we express it with clarity, certainty, and openness to perspective and

counter emotion.

We are not afraid to get into the fray to burn away what is old and arise what is truly

authentic.

We invite the shadow reflection as a gift to deeper understanding and healing.

There is a reverence for ourselves in the path of this integration.

There is no longer self-doubt and self-judgment.

We see ourselves as true Kings and proport ourselves as such.

The 5D masculine has met, wooed, and integrated his inner feminine.

This creates a self-contained and balanced male BEing.

The love and acceptance of the inner feminine reflects the reverence of the outer.

The healing of the mom wound feels vitally important as it holds the energy of our relationship

to the feminine and our subsequent sense of power and sexuality.

There is the need for union with Woman as an alchemical and powerful dynamic of intensely

epic proportions.

This mating and integration of this inner feminine aspect brings us a more heart-open,

softer, and less linear way of expression.

There is less DOing and more BEing.

Being with what arises in our desire and creative abundance.

We clearly respect Gaia in all Her splendor and weep at the sight of Her stunning beauty.

We are more connected to Her creatures and the guides and totems that they represent.

Meat eating becomes a thing of the past that no longer has a place on our plateour diet

just changes with the integration of this new consciousness.

One of the biggest pieces to me is the shift from competition to cooperation as we become

more aware of our connection to All That Is.

We are One of the same so competing serves less purpose.

I can feel a healthy form of competition possibly but my jury is still out on that one.

As men begin to heal their father wounds the more we begin to open our hearts to each other

in beautiful male bonding that is alive with wonder, exploration, and leadership.

A cauldron of possibilities are shared and MANifested.

No longer will men feel responsible to achieve, but rather responsive to the call of building

galactic bridges and to co-creating with their feminine counterparts in sacred union.

The weight of the world and the need to control and provide are felt through and healed with

love so that we can access our more authentic power that is in alignment with Source and

Reverence.

The chains of our own captivity are melted away with the tears of remembering what we

have always been and why we chose the density of 3D.

This healing will open up our Galactic chakras and become more in tune with the energies

of the universe.

Many men are being awoken today only to be left with the question of what it all means

and what to do with it.

The grounding into Gaia and the heart feels like it will help with this feeling of uncertainty.

This connection between our humanity and our universality is what creates a powerful new

conscious cosmic experience.

The heart opens up and grounds in.

The service to others becomes 5D mans new frontier.

I feel such a plethora of possibilities.

Our expanded heart consciousness will open new doors of relationality among ourselves

and our galactic connections.

The relationship to Gaia will be in alignment with Her consciousness and Love.

Living and breathing with and alongside her.

Setting off into unknown realms to encounter new and exciting territory with the desire

to learn and spread more love.

Implementing and encountering new technologies and wisdoms.

It is a great time to be alive.

But there is work to do on ourselves.

Some more or less than others, but needed healing just the same.

We are all in this together.

All looking for those who are resonant and can provide support, reflection, and love.

The old male collective is feeling the press of this continued flow of energy that is coming

at us in Love each moment.

Following Yin is to respond to the pings that are going off inside and to meet them with

a gentle curiosity that brings them out into the light.

No need to excavate or drill in the old way.

Feeling each of our desires and fears are what leads us the next choice point of healing

and ascending above what used to keep us down.

I look forward to this New 5D Man within me and within You to see what amazing experiences

we can have together and with our counterpart 5D Woman.

Now THERE is something to show up for!
